Helpful staff, friendly both in the aisles and behind the counter. Great neighborhood hardware store for all the usual needs including keys.The prices are a bit on the high side but for the service its worth it. They really do everything they can to accommodate you. Highly recommend!

They’re my favorite place in this neighborhood, you’ll be surprised how much things they have inside and if you don’t know what you’re looking for they’ll definitely help you, they are friendly and they make sure that you get what you need only..Their prices are very reasonable....Also, they’re the cheapest in the area for key coping too..
Called before going because so many reviews said the staff don’t wear masks, which was confirmed by an employee when I called. As an ICU nurse I find this appalling, please go support another local business!!!*edit for response: I wear appropriate PPE both at work and in public, keeping both myself and my community safe. Mocking a healthcare worker makes you look real good by the way :)
Been a customer for years. Own several buildings in the area and they always save me a trip to Home Depot. Cant remember the last time they couldnt help me with my needs. And NEVER made a key for me that didnt work. The perfect little neighborhood hardware store and a tremendous asset to the neighborhood!!!!!! As if that wasnt enough, they are EXCELLENT locksmiths as well who have never let me down!!

The good service reminds me of the hardware stores I went to as a child in the 1970s. Ive always been a huge fan of giant discount chains like Costco and Home Depot, but today I needed 4 screws, 3 nuts, several unusual keys copied, and a couple of other things, and he went above and beyond to give me exactly what I needed.
I used to love this store but due to none of the employees wearing masks any of the half dozen times Ive entered the store since March, Im going to have to take my business elsewhere to a place that cares about the community a bit more.
The guys there are amazing, awesome, knowledgeable and super helpful! They have helped me and my business countless times! So grateful for them!

Ive been going here since I was 5 years old to make copies of keys for my dad, as well as any odds and ends I might need for the house. I love the smell and the friendly service. I really hope the family business sticks around!
When the employee came out from behind the register to help me find something with no mask on, I politely asked him to put one on and he flat out refused, and pointed me toward the door. Ill be taking my business to the paint store around the corner where they take public health seriously.
This is a great hardware store! It makes me proud to live in the neighborhood. they have everything I need and their prices are on par with Home Depot, but here you get personal attention. They cut glass and everything!
If you know exactly want you their tiny store MIGHT have it. If youre not a hundred percent sure, dont expect help from the grumpy of old cliche that works there.While trying to figure out what I needed for my project, the man helping me literally walked away without saying anything. I even waited, think maybe he left to go get me what I needed. But no, he just didnt want to help anymore.
I always go there 1st before going toHome Depot . Ill support the little guys , if they dont have then Ill go to to brick and morter . Bartunek is like going to mom and pop store.

Helpful, hilarious, and kind. I always learn, I always laugh, and they have very good prices. big stores you have 30+ isles, I walk in and ask the guys at Bartunek and they help me immediately. even if they dont have what you need, theyll tell you what you need, regardless of where youre going to buy it.

So this afternoon I went to Bartunek Hardware in Queens to fix my shortwave radio receiver because of a missing screw on the antenna. The guy fixed it for me for 25 cents, I kid you not

2021-11-01These guys have saved me a few times when Ive had issues with some projects. Very knowledgeable staff with fairly priced goods and a variety of items youd need. They always take the time to have a conversation, too. Great staff/business!

2021-10-10Not only that they were very helpful of giving me the right products that I needed but they assist me also to put it together and assemble it. Its definitely worth to pay a little more than home Depot and get the right thing rather than buy the wrong thing and have to return it.

2021-04-24Cant get enough of the helpful staff here at Bartunek Hardware. Get Home Depot, Amazon, and Lowes off your brain if you live in Ditmars or northern Astoria, and pop in to let them know what you need. Theyll likely have it for a good price. The store has a large variety of hardware and D-I-Y pluming, repair, and construction supplies. I am most impressed by their willingness to listen to their customers and offer tips and recommendations. They have served the community for years, and it shows in their customer service.

Ask the employees about it. Great vibe in here. You dont get this kind of experience going to a big box store.

2020-11-22Refused to refund tax to an item I returned.Edit:It is tax—as it says so on the receipt and the percentage charged is equivalent to a tax charge. If it is not “tax”, then regardless, you refused to refund me the full amount originally charged to my card. I too wish you dealt with this better in store, but you didn’t, so heres a 1star review instead. I hope other customers have a better experience, but this is an honest review.
