The chicken marsala is amazing! Portions are huge and the stuffed garlic bread is not to be missed! Great for take out !

As crisp are the greens in your salad, so are the toppings on your pie. All appetizers are paired with gourmet homemade dippings.... Mac n cheese eggrolls with twice smoked bacon when dipped in Thai chilli sauce..it is surefire heaven to your pallet..... For all those foodies out there, heres your chance to testify to the kingship of pizza, Staten Island.. Basil Cucina is my new King.. Bravo!
Really popular spot with delicious food options. Try to avoid for lunch or order early around 11am. Went in for pick up on my lunch hour and was told 10-15min for their main green salad and Parm fries. If it wasn’t for me asking one of the Chef’s about my order I probably would of waited longer than the 40min I ended up waiting. When I did get my order the salad was fresh (since they pushed my order) but the parm fries were old and soggy. Would give it another try on an off hour but def not my go to for lunch.

BEEN ORDERING THERE FOR A YEAR AND A HALF AND TODAY IS THE LAST . LITERALLY EVERYTIME I ORDER SOMETHING IS MISSING OR ETC . Ive never had a more positive experience with a single restaurant on a repetitive basis. My wife is an incredibly picky eater and in contrast I eat everything. Every single dish Ive tried here has been amazing, to the point that this is one of the few places that my wife is actually willing to try new foods.If you have an opportunity to eat here, take it up. You wont regret ordering anything on the menu (or at least as far down the menu as Ive gotten 😉).
The food here is pretty good ! We usually order from here but today the delivery driver was extremely rude. He was upset when he realized he approached the wrong address in which I apologized and told him the correct one. (The young lady called me from basil and asked the correct address and she was very friendly and understanding and asked the driver to deliver it to the correct address) He came to our office building and proceeded to say comments that weren’t necessary and started to yell at the ladies when he didn’t appreciate his tip. Maybe it was just a bad Monday for him but I was really shocked. We typically order from here and haven’t had a problem with this before.
Food was spectacular! I ordered Tortellini carbonara with steak, my girlfriend had the chicken Alfredo with angel hair pasta. Sauces were creamy, food was incredibly well seasoned , and portions were good. The full order is definitely a portion for two people. Overall fantastic new find! Definitely in the go to list for good italian food in the neighborhood! Keep the quality standards!
Ordered take out through the Slice App and everything was delicious. The food was fresh and the order was ready even faster than estimated.
They charge more to order over the phone per item than to use Slice. Make sure you look at prices on their actual website before you order. Vodka sauce had way too much salt, local pizza spots do it better. Over priced gourmet food
Found out about this place about 2-3 months ago. Have ordered about 7-8 times so far. The butternut squash salad 👏🏼 is 👏🏼 freaking 👏🏼 delicious 👏🏼. Pizza is bomb, sandwiches are dope. Need I say more?

Always amazing food . We all order from here at work and the food is delicious. This one particular night I ordered from home . I just worked a 10 hour shift and couldn’t really eat because it was one of those days . I spent forever looking at the menu do to pregnancy sickness and nothing was appealing because of me . Finally I decide and they forgot my pasta 😩. I call back and they just closed and all staff was gone . The owner felt bad I was pregnant and personally remade the entire dish and sent a piece of complimentary cake . My husband felt bad but was getting ready to leave for the night shift . We were both touched by this Very kind gesture . Very appreciated . Shows the owner is a decent person .Won’t be forgotten .Thank you very much .
It is a really WONDERFUL place...The prices are ridiculously low the food is fantastic and there is a wide variety from paninis to pizza to pasta to quesadillas this place has it all and the quality and portion size really blows everything around here out of the water. It has a great enviorment inside to bring ur family or a date to dine the owners are always there and you can really see how pasionate they are about what they do the owener came out to me and asked how i liked everything if i had any suggestions that would make it better they truely make you feel at home when ur ther......Would def recommend this place 5 stars.......
I had my friends over we order 1 arugula salad 1 grilled chicken butternut squash salad and grilled chicken sandwich. I always order from basil so I new my friends were omg this lunch is delicious. Where is this place. I had it delivered for 1:00pm and told then to call when they were out front because we were in the yard!! Perfect delivery! To me it was perfect lunch for my friends sbavi had to do nothing!
Love those salads ! Love their Mac and cheese egg rolls & love their Buffalo chicken pizza hands down it’s the best ! Their regular cheese pizza is okay but it’s okay because they have an entire menu that makes up for it !!!! I love basil customer service is excellent I will keep ordering again and again
Update 10/3/19: Recently I had some issues with ordering/delivery with Basil. I was very frustrated. Today, the owner (Joe) personally came and delivered me my usual order (complimentary) and had some good conversation about his business, how he got here, and how he is constantly improving his business. For him to take an hour out of his day to come personally deliver an order and listen to a daily customer says a lot about him and how he runs his business. I will definitely continue to support Joe and Basil Cucina, and I hope for their continued success. I really appreciate a business owner who cares about his business. If youre looking for a great local business to support with great food and amazing prices, give Basil Cucina a try.________Original Post:When Cucina Mia closed, we were devastated as we ordered lunch there 5 days a week. Now that we found Basil Cucina, were super happy and satisfied. Our go-to are the salads — Bang for your buck. The small salads are very generous and remind me of Sweet Green. The Honey BBQ wings are excellent, the sandwiches are great, and overall food quality is up there (although there are a few menu items Im not a fan of). The only real downside to ordering for lunch on a busy schedule is that delivery can take sometimes an 1hr+, but as of recently has been much faster.

Very nice place!We just ordered and it was very nice .the food was clean and tasted excellent..the oil they fried in was clean and fresh, we ordered fried zucchini, artichoke hearts ,fries and onions rings ....all were fresh and clean, PLUS fresh cut fries.... a real treat.the large square pizza was s very tasty .i hope they do well here..we meed a good pizza place ....you can tell they care and that should do well in this neighborhood were there are no pizza places besides brothers which has gone down hill because of the quality of their ingredients......I can only hope that they can keep making good food with out cutting cost with the quality..Delivery was fast and cutesy..try them you will not be sorry,,,They should do well here...

Great traditional Italian specialities. The chicken rolls are enormous and the calamari was crispy and delicious. The stuffed garlic knots are so good they taste like theyre from another world. Great service and speedy delivery. The prices are fair
I work in Edison, NJ and they bring food onsite. I love the salads they offer. So convenient to have them in our cafeteria they are the only healthy food option as we only have 30 min lunch. The attendants are also friendly and professional offer superb service. Can’t wait till I’m in S. I. definitely will drop in. Highly recommend the food here. BASIL ROCKS SOCKS!!!!

Tried Basil for the first time yesterday. Everything in my order was delicious EXCEPT for the Margherita pizza. The overwhelming taste of burned garlic in the sauce was something that was just terrible. My entire family disliked it and I had to throw it away. We are garlic lovers, so if I say that it was so harsh, then something was wrong. I am hoping the owner takes note of this review and hoping it was maybe just a one time error. All the rest of the food was delicious and I have now found my local favorite spot to order food from.
First off, I dont ever really write reviews but had to here because of how awesome the owner is with his replies, it made me feel comfortable enough to try it this hungry evening and Im glad I did :) Kudos for being a stand up guy Mr. Joe!my experience in a nutshell: best food and service Ever at a pizza shop.I first found out about this spot from being enticed by the delicous SMELL of someone elses order as they walked outside this spot. its been on my mind for the past week So, I come in and the adventure begins. I received great service despite it being so so busy. First off, the woman at the counter gives great recommendations and was super friendly. I pay and wait 5 minutes patiently enjoying the cute/helpful life hack videos on their TV screen, when another employee personally comes to check in with me, he makes sure my pie and another customers order is ready quickly. casual and professional staff.I ordered the basil pizza special. Fresh and tasty sauce, great dough, seasoned grilled chicken topping, diced tomatoes YUMMM. Im coming back for sure!
Ordered two items from here. Chicken Parm on a Hero and Chicken Vodka Garlic Knot. The chicken parm was decent but they way they wrapped the sandwich was very messy making it annoying to eat, there was sauce everywhere. The chicken vodka garlic knot tasted very poor. The chicken tasted like it was a week old, all grey and dry.
My wife ordered from Basil the first time. The food was not bad. A week later I ordered a meal for delivery. It was over an hour and a half later when the food arrived. I live just down Forest Ave. The food was cold. I called just to let them know. The young lady on the phone was very understanding. She offered a partial credit to use on the next order. So tonight, a week later, we thought we would try again. We called 5:15pm to order two pies and something else. They remembered the credit and told me it would be $28 with credit reflected in that price. So now the wait begins. At 6:45, an hour and a half later, that sounds familiar, we received a call from the restaurant explaining that it would be another 15 minutes longer. 15 turned into 45 mins. So, at 7:30, I called back, 2 hours and 15 minutes after initially ordering the food. They said the drivers phone died, so he took the food back to the store. They told me it was sent out again with another driver. Now, they didnt say they realized the food was probably cold 2 and a half hours later, and they didnt tell me they remade the order, but by this time I had no illusions about how this was going to turn out. But again, the girl on the phone was very understanding and I guess she was trying to make right some of this disaster, somehow, but I was prepared to tell her to just forget about it. But she said there would be no charge and I didnt want her to feel bad after that gesture by telling her to keep it and besides, the driver was already on his way. I had a feeling that we would probably have to throw most of it out anyway. So after hanging up, my wife called another restaurant, a little closer to us because by this time the kids stomaches were growling. That was 7:38. The door bell rang at 8pm. It was the other delivery. They delivered in a little over 20 minutes. It wasnt until 8:17, a little over 3 hours since the order was made to Basil, that the ordered finally arrived. As I offered the driver his tip, because I knew he wasnt the one who failed to show up earlier, he stopped me saying, that wasnt enough. Yea, folks, he actually tried to charge me for the order that was supposed to be gratis. He even went as far as to insist I pay full price without the credit I was given for the prior weeks hour and a half /cold pizza delivery. Thats when I told him he could keep it. Obviously, no one at the store told him the correct amount. He then backtracked and asked me to take it when I told him it took 3 hours to get here in the first place. He actually tried to tell me that my house was really far. Yeah, Forest Ave takes 3 hours to traverse by car. Not even in the worst rush hour traffic, pal. I understand how snafus can occur, but this place does this over again and can only offer excuses for their mistakes. This is my experience. Their prices are not inexpensive so I guess they figure they can afford to write off their mistakes. But they will surely lose more customers with this kind of attitude. I dont recommend anyone to give them their business. They certainly lost ours over these incidents. Fool me once...
I wish I could give them a good review. I ordered Titi Olga with linguine and vodka sauce as a takeout order. I got home and realized they used the wrong pasta and sauce. They promised to send over the correct order. An hour later, I still havent received my food. So disappointed.55 minutes after I called, I received the linguine with vodka sauce but no vegetables. Was I supposed to pick the cold vegetables out of the wrong dish they gave me an hour earlier?
Have ordered delivery 3 times now and everything has been very good. Portions are generous and they have so many interesting choices. (Note: The large salad is too big for 1 person, and order extra dressing!!) So far my favorite has been the cheesesteak hero. They also have delicious sauces/dressings.
Ordered their pizza along with some seafood and I have to say I was amused by the great taste and perfection in flavor! Definitely will be making sure to head back and order more! There are so many options on the menu super glad I found this place, and the service is great super friendly environment.
Baffled by all of these Great reviews. Must be people who know them. I ordered a few times giving them the benefit of the doubt. Their buffalo chicken wrap had hardly any chicken. Their salad had fruit flies on the lettuce. Wont be ordering ever again from them.
Since moving to Staten island, Ive ordered from Basil a few times. Unfortunately the last few orders have been a disappointment. I ordered online and for some reason the person who read the order didnt do the food correctly. I was very specific about what I wanted. Sandwiches were saturated with a lot of oil and mayo. I ordered a chicken cheesesteak and they send beef. I asked for romaine lettuce on another sandwich and it came with broccoli rave. I built my own salad and it was very skimpy with ingredients. Alfredo with chicken and pasta had so much oil. Not very appetizing. Im very disappointed. I may not order from them for a while. So sad because the food is tasty

OMG 😍 great food at good prices. The owner personally gets involved and makes sure that you are very satisfied. The last time I was there I ordered their calzones. They were hot and big. A great value for the price. We had both fried and baked. Excellent
When I first found out about this lil place called Basil I was hooked. I told a friend who told a friend who now I had many friends and family ordering and co-workers. Thats how good the food is. But I came here today 10/02/19 to leave a review about an experience that I had that you dont find often here on the island. There was a lil hiccup in my order today for those who dont understand (a mix-up) It required me to drive there , the manager I forgot his name (my bad) gave me what I call excellent customer service and corrected the problem. He didnt see me as 1out of a thousand customers he see daily, he saw me as a customer he wanted to continue to do business with that is something I had to come here to give 5 stars for. Great food, great attitude goes a long way thank you basil♥️
Always delivering cold food. Delivery drivers have no patience never prepared nor pay attention. I don’t know what lace in the world takes 1 hour and 45Minutes to deliver a burger and a soda half a mile from your store when that only takes 5 minutes to make and that’s over cooked. One of very few places I liked but some of this crap isn’t even worth it.
I will never have to cook again. Basil Cucina is absolutely our new favorite place to eat. Food is extremely fresh, tasty and not overly priced. Have only done take out, but looking forward to going to the restaurant and of course continuinng to order take out. Thank you Joe & Tony, welcome to our neighborhood!!!!!!

I dont know when i am gonna learn we order from here all the time and consistently get great food never dissapointed however the are always late never here on time. No matter what time we order they are never here. I placed an order at 10 and its now 1130 and stull no food. Because the truck that delivers the lettuce broke down... How bout a phone call. And the best you can do is...... sorry..... not sure whats going on guys but cmon i wanna continue to order but not if it gonna take forever
Top notch food at a very reasonable price for what you get. You can see and taste that they use the finest ingredients in everything they make. The staff is great and you can tell they are very passionate and care about what they do. I dont think I can point out a better spot for lunch in the area.

Who said you cant have a huge garlic knot sandwich. Basils creative chefs created the chicken parm garlic knot. Just full of flavor and makes your taste buds wanting more.Besides the garlic knot, Basil has to have the best pasta. Their food is phenomenal and the chefs ensure that they are use the best quality meats and best ingredients.Bang bang shrimp is a must try
My first time there today, and it was really pouring rain outside. I asked the young lady to give me a plastic bag , for my pizza. She did it all, wrapped it in paper then in plastic. I was impressed with her customer service and smile.
Food is fresh, service is good. Most things I have tried were delicious...the Italian fries are a must, but dont breath on anyone after... tons of garlic! But so delicious.
Went that today on 5/5/18 on a whim . I got a chicken avocado BLT on a wrap, a porchetta on a hero, mussels with linguini and red sauce, a buffalo chicken pie and a personal pie margarita. My wife, brother and I devoured it. Grand slam in freshness and flavor. Met Joe the owner and he was a nice guy. Place is clean which is expected when they just opened up 2 weeks ago.
They come and cater to my job at amazon in Edison and I absolutely love the food they bring. The chicken parm garlic knots is to die for. And its such a great deal for the price!!
I wish i could give them 20 stars!!! The food is amazing. I have had everything from pasta, to paninis, to salads..Ahhh the Salads ... they are the BEST on the island. SOO Fresh, SOO much to chose from, and SOO much food!! Also, when they prepare your food, they always wear gloves. The staff are super friendly. I have ordered out, had delivery, and sat in the restaurant. I grab lunch from here at least 1x a week. Try the Chipolte Honey Dressing- amazing!! :)
First off the pizza box was inside out that should have been the first clue. Second the pizza “grandma pie” was tiny squares. It appeared to be made in 2 layers That quickly came apart when I tried to eat these micro squares. The sauce was worse than Ragu Jared sauce. No taste and no flavor the worst pizza I ever ate or bought. If these people can open a pizza place my English muffin pizzas would sell better. I don’t know if this place is Italian but I’ve bought Kosher and bootleg Chinese restaurant Pizza that was better. Best thing was the delivery guy he was very polite and nice. Only plus to this experience.
Catered for a party of about 75, food was absolutely delicious but they told me I needed way more than I actually did, I gave away a bunch, ate leftovers for days and had to throw the rest out. Not that its a bad thing, better to have more than not enough. This wont discourage me from using them again, Ill just order less, would definitely recommend. One complaint-not enough bread! One 1/2 tray of bread & it was gone in a heartbeat! Btw-chicken Francese is the best.
I got a meal from Basil Cucina yesterday and I couldnt be happier. Not only was the food absolutely delicious, (that sauce!), but the portion was very generous. Friendly staff made the entire experience extremely enjoyable. I highly recommend it.
Food is really good. Unfortunately, they are overwhelmed with orders and cannot handle the volume. This results in over a 2-3hr wait for lunch and missing salad dressings. Has happened several times.
Couldnt recommend this restaurant more highly. Ambiance is great. the food is outrageous. I had a panini and it was hands down the best panini Ive ever had. My wife had one of their specialty pies and it blew her away. Will definitely be visiting this place again. Already spoke to the owner about catering my birthday party!
The place is nice and the people are great. Pasta was so so as well as the chicken francaise. The fried zucchini were great...however the fried calamari were chewy. Also the garlic knots were delicious. I would return for zucchini and garlic knots.
If your are looking for a light and filling meal, here is the place. It taste as if the sandwich was designed just for you. Just wish their actual resteraunt space was bigger and not so tight.
Well the only problem Ive had at this place is certain people dont fully listen to what you order and just give you something else instead. Which is annoying because it now makes you look incompetent. Aside from that issue the food is great and I do enjoy it. Just wish people would listen cause I dont live close to Basil and I dont want to have to drive back either. Unless they pay for my gas lol.

For there prices to be a little pricey you would expect it to be worth it. The wait was a long, they didn’t put no mayonnaise or mustard on our sandwiches. The bread was hard. I thought I was going to recommend this place to my job and friends because we was recommended this place but most likely I’ll never order again.
Best PIZZA I ever had on Staten Island!! The Rainy Day is my families favorite pie. I recommend that everyone try Basil and I promise you will not be disappointed.
They have the best sandwiches and food .The only issue is they are charging $10 delivery fees on Grubhub which I have never heard off .

Called to place an order they tell me they can deliver to my address but they will charge a $5 fee which is fine I told them I would call back in 30 min to place an order I did but then they place me on hold for then to tell me order through door dash cause we’re busy ? Mind you I’m reading reviews people are saying they deliver all the way to Edison NJ I’m in Staten Island 12 min away !!! Terrible customer service !

We ordered soda, dessert and 2 personal pizzas...soda and dessert...ok.....pizza was horrible.....my sister ordered a personal cheese with meatballs.....it looks like they threw piece of chop meat on the pizza instead of slices of meatballs.....I ordered Margarita pie with extra basil.....there was definitely mo extra basil on the pie.....both pied were overcooked because both crusts were so hard you couldnt even bite them....and the basil was so dry you couldnt even taste it.....Ill never order from you again.....$46 down the drain because I threw my pizza out after one slice

Sadly, this place isn’t a regular restaurant. While there are a few uncomfortable tables, its really a take out place. The food is delicious. The staff couldn’t be nicer . Can’t wait to go back.

Pizza was so good, I’ll definitely come back or order for delivery. Pizza was made fresh and not just sitting for awhile and then heated in the oven.

2021-12-28Basil never ever disappoints! Pictured is a small arugula salad that comes with fresh tomatoes, red onion, slivered almonds and candied lemon peels! The lemon vinaigrette compliments perfectly and a small chicken and vegetable soup (I only wanted half so I transferred to a mug so I can save the rest for tomorrow). There’s never a shortage of anything you order! Large portions of everything, and always delicious!No matter who answers the phone, they are always polite and assertive. They’ll read back your order at the end and always give you the total amount too. Their food is always fresh, hot and tasty no matter what time of the day you place an order.Basil Cucina is closed on Sundays, so don’t learn that the hard way like we did! Totally worth a try; you won’t be disappointed.

2022-02-15Basils is our new spot!! Great pizza and food! Finding good quality food at an affordable price is difficult to find on Staten Island. We are so glad that we were recommended here. Its been our go to every week! Our kids love the classic pizza and garlic knots and the adults love the artichoke madness pie! But everything here is delicious! Thank you guys for doing a great job.

2022-07-03I catered from them for my gender reveal party, I had about 30 people so I bought package 5 and there was plenty of food and even left over! Everyone loved the food, And the man who came and delivered it and set everything up was quick and efficient. Very happy with my service, will definitely cater from them again!

2020-01-26The Food has been great all three times I have ordered from there. The stuffed garlic know is huge! The hot basil sandwich is delicious and worth every penny. Would highly recommend trying it if you are in the area.

2018-07-15Best pizza Ive ever had - period (Rainy Day pie). Meatball parm panini - again, best Ive ever had. And to top it off, the staff is amazing - go out of their way to make sure youre happy - they encourage feedback to make it the best experience possible - how can you beat that?!? Do you know any other place like that?Just tried the vegetarian quinoa bowl with avocado - Im not a vegetarian but tried it because it sounded refreshing and light for a hot day - I could eat this every day - unbelievable!

2022-02-05Have ordered from basil many many times. Today will be my last time. I ordered the grandma pizza and the sauce was bitter and pizza arrived cold. I know that the cold has nothing to do with the restaurant but with the delivery person instead, but still, the sauce was unpleasant. And then it cost 26$ for sirloin steak marsala and there was so little steak in it. I do t know whats going on, I know times are tough because of the pandemic, but I ordered $167 worth of food and I was disappointed 😞

2022-03-11I heard lovely things about this restaurant and the food looked amazing so I decided to give it a try. Not one of my best decisions. The quesadilla that I received was absolutely horrible.I got a burnt tortilla with cheese that tasted like it came out of a can. Not interested in trying anything else on the menu. Very disappointed.

2022-04-30Tried it 2xs and I will never be back again .... ordered a Stuffed Garlic knot Chicken Parmigiana sandwich ..... both times 1st time it was burnt.... so I figured I would give it another try .... bad decision on my part .... was sick thr next day from all the grease in it and for $10.00 o should of had at least a decent size piece of chicken .... there was hardly any meat on this sorry soggy greasy sandwich..... so I guess I paid for the fancy bag and menu .....
