I have never experienced worse care than everytime I give this place a chance. I instantly regret it. Ill save everyone from the long list of issues and just tell you to not waste your time and just go somewhere else.
So I had an allergic reaction to something and got a rash all over my face, neck, chest and one of my arms. They tried telling me that I had a viral rash and to put hydrocortisone cream ok my face twice a day. The rash is on my lips and my eye lid. And they told me to put it everywhere.Of course I didnt do that because hydrocortisone cream is not supposed to go on your face. So the next day I ended up going to WellNow in Utica , NY. The guy took one look at me and knew I had an allergic reaction. So he put me on steroids with benedryl, and was out in 15 minutes. Do not waste your time at Bassett.
I was told I have to wait until April to be seen by a primary physician, it’s December right now, and I have to wait until April ?With all the symptoms I’m currently experiencing, I should’ve been able to see someone much sooner than this.I can’t keep going to the hospital or the clinic because since they keep giving me the wrong diagnosis, and my issues are now considered chronic which they keep telling me I have to see my primary physician for** UPDATE **I finally got a primary physician and she didn’t even address all the issues I bought upEverytime I try to get a walk in appt they send me in circles through the phone number givenThe receptionist here at the convenient care are rude
Receptionists are hypersensitive and ANY perception by them of an elevated voice or anxiety even if its clearly not directed at them personally, is met with authoritarian threats. That said, this group is what single-payer healthcare would look like, a wasteful beurocratic nightmare.
Love Bassett Health care in Herkimer. Never have to wait long for my appointment. All staff are friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this facility !!
Getting your health care services at Bassett is putting your life in danger. They cant even manage to answer phones how could they possibly be on top your health care needs.
With a busy week including flying to California to bring my son to play baseball, by boyfriend in an atv accident braking his leg while I was away, to coming home to my daughter with conjunctivitis in both eyes.. I made an appointment for my daughter at 10:20 and called to let them know I would be late. The call center told me I had an half hour, well after waiting in line for 6 minutes I was told I missed my appointment at 10:53.. I was then rudly told the next appointment would not be in till 1:00.. I asked that is the soonest because I live close to 40 minutes away, and told yes. I went out to my car and called the answeing service and was told there was a 11:00 appointment and she booked it.. When I came back to register they were really irritated with me the woman at the front deskeven went back and got another employee explaining that I should have never been booked for the 11, and I would have to wait another 30 minutes before they would see me.. Not one person was kind from the get go, No eye contact and irritated we where there bothering them.. Thanks for the horrible service think twice before coming to this care center. From the front desk to the back my daughter and I bothered their time.. Unreal!
Our son kept getting mis diagnosed. It turns out the lump in his neck WAS something because now he has been diagnosed with stage 3/4 non Hodgkins lymphoma. Dr. Lucose was our primary and I used to complain that she sent us too way to many specialist but now in hindsight I am so thankful for her. Had we kept listening to Our new dr. Scandura. We probably still wouldnt have known. Then we met a very ill mannered and over worked dr. Ryan I believe from ENT who had terrible bed side manner. The ONLY reason I am giving 3 stars is because of dr. Lucose, dr. Richmeyer, and dr. Canary . stay away from scandura and Ryan.
Dont go if you have severe depression and anxiety.
I went to Bassett Urgent care on 5/2/18. Only to find excellence in patient care, from all, to start to discharge. As a Nurse of 44 yrs, i must commend all for their professionalism and kindnessFrank Raspante
Horrible place to visit if you expect to be treated with any respect at all... Especially from Melissa at the desk for radiology. She is extremely unprofessional and rude with a nasty rotten attitude towards people that dare walk up to her window. She should not be in any place where she has to deal or talk to people as she is not a people person at all
Great care and I was seen almost immediately when the time for my appointment came. I was out of there fast too. Very professional, great facility
Very rarely do I have issues with Bassett Healthcare Center in Herkimer. The staff is always very nice and MOST of the Receptionist are very kind and helpful.

I absolutely avoid going there if at all possible. One of the most disorganized facilities on the grid.
They are a joke. If i could just wright a review with out a start i would. If your in need of medical care just drive to utica.
Other than recent issues scheduling appointments, I have always had a wonderful experience at Bassett.
Horrible service. Doctor talked to me for less then 30 seconds. I got more medical info from the secretary.
Good providers caring ,was seen within 2 min of appointment.

2022-03-01Excellent place for both primary care and women’s health! They are super respectful and compassionate toward their patients and I’ve never had to wait over 5 minutes when in the waiting room.

2021-10-07The womens health department and the pediatrician my daughter goes to are wonderful. Sometimes its a bit of a wait but other than that Id recommend taking your kids here and going here if youre pregnant for your OB appointments and ultrasounds.

2021-03-30The rudest people I’ve ever encountered. I brought a friend here recently who was rudely turned away and told he needed to leave. With no explanation.I visited here once before for lumps in my wrists that caused numbness and extreme pain in my hands. The doctor was extremely rude and not once checked my wrist. Simply told me “It’s not cancerous.” And told me there was nothing he would do for me. That I just needed to “deal with it.”VERY unprofessional. No hospitality. Should be closed down.

2021-06-01You may as well drive there if you need to speak to someone. I called, still havent spoken to anyone, and its been 15 minutes and still counting- just to see if I can pick up test results! Ridiculous and unheard of where I came from- They wouldnt be in business any longer!This is not the first time. And I bet if I do go there without prior arrangement, there will be a sign outside saying I need to call first 😖Sorry we cant all adhere to your demands. It shouldnt take a half hour to pick up test results thatd only take a minute to print out otherwise. Wire your heads to your butts please.

2019-02-05Nurses were rude and judged my friend for reason why she was there, as if she wasn’t already uncomfortable enough with the situation. The one nurse later came in and without eye contact and mumbled “oh yeah and your doctor has been switched” from a female to a male. Me and another girl went into the room and were rudely asked to leave because there was not “enough room.” We were planning to leave anyway once the doctor came back in but we were just there in support while her blood was being drawn, seeing as she’s afraid of needles. As we walked back to the waiting room other patients were treated with more respect and were greeted with a friendly smile.

2016-10-04I have been a recent patient to Bassett Healthcare in Herkimer. My physician, Dr, Lee relocated to your facility recently and without hesitation I transferred my care due to my desire to continue under her excellent practice. Holistic care is a goal of many physicians but to achieve it takes time . It requires listening to the patient and providing the quality of life that is important to the individual. Dr. Lee does this. Leaving my previous health care facility was a more difficult decision. I now know it was a good one, The staff at Bassett in Herkimer is consistently excellent. The nursing, lab and radiology staff excel in their efforts to provide quality care. Recently Michele from radiology went above and beyond to help me through a difficult day. Her efforts and kindness were much appreciated. Dr. Lees nurse Marsha is always attentive and kind. The facility is clean and patient friendly.

2020-07-31I found out I have hypothyroidism from a blood test, been waiting for a call back from the doctor who never called back. I struggled with an eating disorder in the past, so thyroid medication and getting my thyroid back to normal would help me from slipping back into my previous struggle. The doctor had no empathy and then when I got weighed she emphasized my weight was healthy for my height and age but FROM HER OWN PERSONAL VANITY PREFERENCE, she told me I would look prettier if I was overweight. Just blantant bodyshaming, no help, and whats worst is she ignored all the other problems I reported, especially where I brought up my heart palapatations and how it feels like I am literally dying. Didnt care; at all.

2018-02-14Really great facility. Great Employees. The only thing that I dislike is that it is convenient care. This is different than Urgent Care. My insurance would fully cover Urgent Care and no copay, but the convenient care is treated as a doctors visit (aka copay etc).
