My kid and I are sick and he wanted Chinese food for dinner to celebrate his birthday. I ordered Sesame chicken with Pork fried rice and a shrimp spring roll for him and I got a Thai Iced tea and egg drop soup and fried chicken wings for myself. The sesame chicken wasn’t fresh, the spring roll was soggy, the soup was so congealed that it was almost like jello and the chicken wings were old and refried. The restaurant needs to stop serving bad food to people who live in poor areas in the community. Just because where they live isn’t the nicest, that doesn’t mean that they don’t deserve to have fresh food! Thank goodness I was able to get a refund from the food delivery app I used. I will NEVER order food from here again!
I’ve ordered from here a handful of times and every single time my experience was nasty. This last time though my delivery came an hr hour late and none of the food was fresh. I got a chicken and broccoli bento box and it was supposed to come “breaded in Japanese breadcrumbs” ... it did not. Salad wasn’t fresh, avocado rolls were sloppy and not fresh, rice wasn’t fresh and some pieces of broccoli tasted funny. I also got a bubble tea which also came in a broken cup and something was definitely wrong with the tapioca. They don’t pay attention to order notes either because on the website it gave me the option to include miso soup, I chose not to and they gave me it anyway.I also had their bubble tea a few months back and it had flies in it so yeah.. don’t waste your money here.
Originally liked Bay House Bistro because of their many vegetarian options but I ordered Sesame Soy Chicken today and got real chicken. The second order was Pad thai, the fish sauce was so heavy that neither of us could to eat it. Both meals ended up wasted, tried to call the restaurant immediately after and no one picked up and the automated message hangs up and doesnt allow to leave a message. Delivery took 1 hr at 2pm on a Monday.
Amazing pork dumplings. The cold sesame noodles have a bit too much of a peanut butter taste but if it wasnt so dominant theyd be really good.Everything else we ordered was a lot better than most other local Chinese food places. Definitely making this place our new Chinese food restaurant!
I sent my friends to this place with my highest recommendations. I go to this restaurant often. This recommendation is always successful. The dishes they serve are tasty and the crew is generous and cooperative. always when we visit this place we have a pleasing time. highly recommended.
I went in and asked for a lunch special 18 sweet and sour pork and they guy put in the wrong order. I said this is the wrong order I asked for pork not chicken. I was in there for 20 minutes waiting for the first order and then the correct order. I still have no idea if it was chicken or pork. Worst Chinese food
What Is In The Sauce???I originally rated this place 5 stars for their vegetarian options and extremely friendly staff. Ive decided to edit my rating after tonight. What they dont tell you is what is in the sauce. My wife ordered mock soy beef with spicy basil sauce tonight from grubhub, and it arrived tasting fishy. The sauce was listed in the vegetarian options. After calling the restaurant, I was told that it was made with squid which is not only not vegetarian (a squid is not a plant) but also is not kosher. Very disappointing. I assumed if someone was ordering a vegetarian meat substitute that a restaurant would let them know which sauces were safe, but that didnt happen. We had to throw the dish out. If you are trying to order a vegetarian dish from this restaurant, make sure you ask what is in the sauce.Edit: To date, no refund nor attempt to make this right has been offered by Bay House.
I have pretty low standards when it comes to food, but this place had super disappointing sushi.I got the maki lunch combo. Salad was super small and fit in an 8oz cup. Miso soup was alright. Had an eel roll with avocado. The avocado was overly ripe and mealy; it was falling apart. Eel was alarmingly boney (and ended up scratching my throat). The raw fish rolls (striped bass and yellowtail) tasted off and were super warm by the time I got it. Definitely not worth the price.I havent tried eating in before, so I wouldnt be suprised if their dine-in experience is better. Ive also heard their cooked dishes are delightful. If you want sushi, avoid this place. If you want cooked Asian fusion dishes, this might be the place for you.
Do NOT order sushi at night from Bay House. It is OLD, falling apart, and too squishy - as if it was made many, many hours beforehand. Also it arrives warm, without explanation. We have tried it twice and it was similarly unacceptable on both occasions. Further, the seaweed salad is a sham - a little bit of seaweed on top of iceberg lettuce, overpriced at $5.50. We also tried the fried wontons, and they werent very good either. Overall, not worth it.
I love this place. It gets better and better. Cozy, clean, hospitable and delicious. Today I had their Pad Thai lunch special with chicken. In the past Ive had their shashimi dinner among other things Ill go back for. Try their coffee with condensed milk, pots of fresh brewed tea,-Jasmine I think, and a broad selection of saki. Want to try their kimchee based hot pot soup next.
Absolutely the worst possible food you can order from an Asian restaurant in Staten Island. I ordered the General Tso beef lunch special with white rice and a soda and they messed up that very simple order. In addition the food looked completely unappetizing and was barely edible. They barely included any of the requested condiments or napkins that you would expect when you order out. I would rather eat dirt than ever eat the food from this place. The only redeeming thing was that when the delivery guy (Andy) came back with the missing food item he was very polite and courteous and offered to help get me a credit- considering that i live in a predominantly Asian neighborhood and have traveled Asia extensively quite knowledegeable of the cuisine.
My fav in the neighborhood , I love their tom khai coconut soups , everything is good . My boyfriend always gets the orange crispy beef even tho I tell him to try all the other awesome things on the menu lol ! Love the canai pancakes, pad Thai , curries , green tea ice cream and sushi is fresh !
There is no MSG warning for those who are allergic, celiac or gluten intolerant. Why they are still adding this toxic stuff to everyones food is probably because they get away with it and their customers are oblivious. Plus there was virtually NO DUCK in the duck dish we ordered. Just a few stringy pieces of skin. Its better to put an adequate amount in and charge more or better still keep the price the same and still put enough and reduce the size of the dish rather than charge more for meat thats barely there. Floor tiles/carpet sorely needs replacing. Disappointing.
Ordered 3 rolls and miso soup. Kani roll, spicy tuna roll and scallop avocado roll. They put rice and imitation crab meat in Kani roll, nothing else. I came back to ask what happened to kani salad in my kani roll and they told me that was how they did it: only rice and a piece of crab stick. I asked them to exchange it for any other roll then, may be spicy salmon. They charged me extra money for their own that. Scallop roll was a lot of avocado and barely visible sry scallop. Good thing is that I love avocado. Rice was overcooked
I ordered grilled pork chops and rice from this restaurant and was very disappointed. The pork chops were fried, not grilled as I requested and were as thin as paper. This was the worst pork chops ive ever had. I will not recommend this place or ever order from them again.

2022-01-15My waiter first off did a well enough job of making sure the area was clean, neat, and warm enough for my father and I to sit at. Secondly the food was great surprisingly. This was both our first time being here and we both loved the food. Now normally I don’t eat sushi but I ate almost half of every sushi entree on the table. My drink was phenomenal and not to heavy. Overall the experience we had was great. Thank you Bay House Bistro!!!

2022-02-02They’ve relocated. Use to be on the bay street by Long Nail and Exotic smoke shop. Now they’re by speedway bay street.Ordered the crispy beef and rice noodle. Both dish was greasy and full of oil at the bottom. The flavor was ok, my family was a fan. Not so much me.The beef wasnt spicy, but sweet. I did see dry chili pepper in there so was wondering why it wasn’t spicy. The roast pork rice noodle was standard, lil light on flavor, but reheating and eaten again later was a better flavor than initial.Soda lychee was good, and cali roll is standard. They do a lot on their menu, a lil overwhelming but it’s good to have ~options~

2021-11-03I enjoy Bayhouse so much, I had their food two nights in a row! I wish them luck in their new location! Delivery is prompt, and dine-in was pleasant. And they were so thoughtful, after I placed my on-line order, I received a phone call asking if I wanted egg in my soup, which might have been a concern for those with dietary restrictions. My usual order is the buy two, get one sushi roll free, the roti canai appetizer (a fry bread and a chicken curry dip), and the build your own (choose your vegetables, choose your protein, choose your sauce - though I could have sworn the old location had curry sauce options, but I do not see that on the menu now), and I HIGHLY recommend the HOT POT soups, especially for these colder days! and dont forget an order of vegetables, while the price might seem high for those, it is a family size portion and for one person can be three or four servings! The Yu Choy or the Chinese Broccoli is very good. Oh and my dad always enjoys their Bento Box.

2018-08-06The Bay House Bistro on Staten Island is an amazing restaurant. Recently, my friend and I decided to dine in one day because we never did before(we always ordered from home.). Even though this restaurant is a little small in size, it makes up for the amazing enviornment, fast and friendly service, and delicious food. There drinks are pretty good too! I would recommend getting the bubble tea. Best place to get sushi if you live around the neighborhood. 5+ stars in my book.
