The food is absolutely delicious. I highly recommend the Sunday brunch. The ackee and salt fish was delicious. Ive also had the wings and the snapper with rice n peas which were amazing. My husband had the lobster mac n cheese and loved it. Definitely a great place to go for brunch or dinner!
Had a great time with my family, great food options and the portions were amazing. I had waffles with fried fish, the calypso fries was so good as well as the tropical mimosa! Everyone there was so kind and understanding and the music was such a vibe we was singing along to some of the tunes with other customers. Will definitely return again.
This place is excellent, I have nothing bad to say about it. The restaurant itself is very clean (especially the bathroom! wow!). The staff is kind and informed, my waitress nicki did an excellent job. The food is top tier! Best regards to the chef, my table of five had no complaints whatsoever. I got the mac & cheese with fried whiting, and it was incredible. excellent portion sizes as well, it was very much worth the money. It did take a while for the food to come but it was 100% worth the wait. Its hard to find a good soul food place on Long Island, and I will be returning!
Amazing food & drinks! Chef Josh personally took our orders and made us feel as if we’d been coming in for ages. The steak platter with chimichurri sauce was delicious, as was the chicken & waffles & mac & cheese. Large, satisfying portions, too. Looking forward to becoming a local regular🙌🏽
One of the best place to eat and its around my neighborhood. We regret that we waited this long to try it. We’re so amazed and felt so welcomed by this friendly crews. The food was outstanding. REAL SOUL FOOD! Flavors are all on point. Will definitely coming back for more. We forgot to take pictures of the other food we just can’t wait any longer. Scrumptious!
Returning customer. Every dish that we had was delicious, five star service, and a fun atmosphere. Chef Antoine puts a lot of pride into his food and always makes us smile and laugh. I would recommend this place.Tip: the menu is expansive. If you order food there, you can add meats, make it jerk, add curry, etc. Just ask.
Such a shame I waited so long to visit, they exceeded all of my expectations. The food was beyond bomb. I had the Jerk Salmon Cheesesteak, Tostones, & Sirracha Honey Wings. Everything was made to perfection, fried and cooked just right. The escovitch fixins on the tostones was such a nice touch. The wings were a delicate combo of sweet with that Sirracha kick. And the cheesesteak was amazing, the bread managed to be toasted but yet still retain that soft and fresh consistency that I love. Cant wait to go back!
Our hostess was friendly and very welcoming, the owner/chef was friendly and made sure to come out and greet us after preparing our meals which was too good for words! The What-A-Jerk Shrimp & Grits were there best, seasoned perfectly and perfect sized serving. And this was just breakfast!!! Going back for sure!
So today I was driving in my town and I dropped someone off here at bayview kitchen.. I noticed a lot of customers inside so I decided to come back. Im so glad that I did. As soon as I walked in I was welcomed by Rose and she made me feel at home right away. Im big on customer service and I was highly impressed with the service I received from her. Being in this industry and I travel so much it is important that when you first walk in the first impression of the person who communicate with you makes the difference. Now about the food they get a 10 star. Place was clean. This is a great place to go in the evening time or to bring a date cuz they do have a bar. So to all my followers this is the new hot spot to be at in Amityville I promise you you will not be disappointed
Staff is extremely friendly & the food is incredible. My waiter recommend the surf and turf since I was having a hard time picking from the menu (everything sounded amazing). I took a risk and his recommendation and it did not disappoint. I will definitely be back soon !
Stopped here a few weeks ago to try. Very hospitable and clean. Coffee was fresh, porridge was delicious as a starter. Surf and turf breakfast was excellent. So good in fact that it would be a sin to use ketchup on the potatoes. The seasoning was perfect with a nice kick to it. Definitely recommend trying. Will be back to try something else next time.
This place is amazing. Great carribean vibe, great staff, and amazing food. Im not a chicken and waffle person but oh man... their chicken and waffle is Amazing!! Their maple and scotch bonnett infused syrup litterally elevates the taste of the dish. Their Jerk Shrimp and Grits is the definition of deliciousness! If your in the area and are looking for a great brunch to satisfy you, then you need to come here. Wow, ill definitly be back. Thank you Jessica for your service. We had fun! ( she was our waiter lol)
First of all, if you haven’t been here, your missing out, came here with my girlfriend, and gotta say the vibes were great, the waitress was amazing and very attentive, we had chicken and waffles, gonga Mac n cheese which was fire 🔥 overall great first experience, can’t wait to go again!
I’ve worked there for about 2 weeks , and unfortunately was being disrespected by Chef Jahsh. He is a very good chef but not with people . Chef Asim is the one to go to !Bayview is one of the best restaurants the vibes there is amazing .#jerkingeverythingbutthepeople yesss 💪🏽
We were looking for a spot on 4th of July, and somehow we ended up here. Great find! The food was delicious. We got Hawaiian mimosa pitcher with our meal and it was very refreshing. Half way through our meal chef Josh came out and said hello! And we all took shots 😆 cool vibe. The people running this business are awesome and great deal of fun. Totally would love to come back here soon. Highly recommended.
In one of the rare instances in which I give a 5 is because everything seemed to have fallen in place for a dining experience. Went early Sunday afternoon for brunch. The menu changes for dinner because I did not notice the wings which I heard are amazing. I guess I will have to return for dinner as I spoke to Hasim ( hopefully spelled his name correctly). My friend who invited me here and I walked in and were immediately seated. The place was already capacity but we found a table near the big windows. We were greeted with big smiles prior to being seated. They have interesting choices for brunch including delicious drinks which are at full strength. My friend ordered the rastarita which comes with a generous amount of tequila. I ordered the Sangria which for me was done with the right ingredients, not the pure wine which it is not supposed to be. Both drinks were served in Mason jars and were full to the top. Although the waiters and waitresses were busy, they still managed to make you feel at home and make fun remarks while you wait to decide. We both wanted grits based meals since we were hungry and I especially wanted to try the grits to taste the fuss. Mine came with Salmon and my friend had hers with the jerk shrimps. Although I did not taste the shrimps, but the salmon was done right without being dry. It was moist and flavorful. The serving dishes were unique to each dish as you will see in the pictures. I forgot we ordered the avocado toast to begin. It was generous proportion and more than enough for 2 people. We were very happy to see young entrepreneurs open this clean and well lit place. I heard it has been open for a little over 4 months. I truly wish them the best. With their good food and warm personality, they will succeed. The only concern I have is when they get popular, it maybe difficult to get a table in the future!! Definitely a place to go for a delicious meal and friendly atmosphere.
I was told it was an hour wait and was given a buzzer, an hr goes by still nothing and people that came in after was getting a table I called 3 times and waited 2hrs still nothing and when I called the final time the receptionist gon go and say did you give us the buzzer back , After waiting 2 hrs I should’ve been at least accommodated especially when I called 3 times within the wait. Smh
The food is usually good. However, my husband and I went there on a Sunday and it was not a nice experience. They only had a brunch menu, which was fine but the music was so loud it was impossible to sit and try to enjoy a meal. The place is too small to have the music at such a deafening volume. We could not talk to the server or each other without screaming. I love supporting black owned businesses but I hope my next visit wouldnt turn me off again. Work on your ambiance.
2 of my girls invited me there and they were skeptical of how I would react but let me share this its a small setting but the waiter was very nice and he told us to try the ackee and saltfish Empanadas it was a straight 10 to goodnessThen I had the fried whiting Rice and Peas the presentation and taste was knocked out the park home runDefinitely going back
The food was amazing!!!!!!!!! My wife and I ordered from here and we will order from here all the time.I wish it was possible to give more stars. The place is nice customer service from the phone to coming inside was so welcoming and friendly best customer service best experience best food. If you haven’t tried please do ASAP. Even the drinks amazing feels like I’m on vacation we love it.
The food here was plentiful and tasty. The packaging was attractive and the location was well kept.I would have rated the place higher but the service could have been better. We ordered a extra side and when we got home realized that the server did not put it in the bag. When we called for a refund we were told they dont do refunds and wanted us to drive 25 minutes to pick it up. Instead they took our name and entered it into a refund book.In 2020 they need to do better.Fyi. Ive been back several times since my initial visit and the food and service was top notch. I would give them five stars
I went to Bayview Kitchen yesterday for the first time since they reopened, and once again realized why I love this restaurant. The food is great and the customer service is even better. It was the first time my wife has been there and they didn’t disappoint. The staff were super friendly and although we took our order to go (we had just left Jones Beach and were sandy) they treated us like family. I wanted to personally thank them by leaving this review. Also thank you for the complimentary apple juice for my son. You guys are awesome. I’m a fan forever!
Went in here after my boyfriends soccer game. We live 2 hours away so Honestly we just stumbled upon the place, but the food was very good and large servings; I couldn’t even finish mine. The service was great, very nice people. I was pleasantly surprised that the staff had shirts on that said they welcome everyone despite differing views, I thought that was a nice way to make people feel comfortable. One thing; the servers should make sure they keep their masks on the entire time. Overall, definitely recommend.
My husband and I just got home from a great lunch here. Everything was seasoned perfectly and perfectly cooked. We had the jerk chicken tostada and a burger and fries. So good! And everyone is so friendly. We cant wait go back for breakfast and dinner! Seriously, its that good.
I want to give this place 5 stars because their food is very good. However, every time I go there I order the not-so-nachos and get a different version EVERY TIME. The first time was perfect, the second time they decreased the size of the carton and still charged the same price, a few other times other ingredients were missing, and yesterday instead of guac. they diced up avocados and the plantains were brick hard and didnt taste fresh. Its annoying to keep going through this.
I stopped by after work for some dinner to take out. The staff was nice and friendly and answered all of my questions. I ordered the curry shrimp and a side order of mixed greens (salad). When I got my order, I could barely contain myself from wanting to eat in the car. Well when I made it home, my taste buds were in for a treat!! The food was absolutely delicious! The shrimp were plump and perfect, wonderful curry seasoning without being overpowering, and the rice cilantro rice was perfect. The mixed greens salad had a wonderful light dressing and the right amount of crunch. The ingredients were really fresh and clean. I wish I couldve stayed for happy hour, the drink specials looked fantastic. I will definitely be back here with friends. Definite 5 stars!
First time; Great customer service. We were greeted promptly upon arrival; asked if this was our first time then reviewed the menu with us. Daily menu (smaller selection) is different then whats listed on the website . They quoted about 20 minutes; we waited almost 60 minutes. The employee who greeted us brought the food to the car and apologized for the wait. Food was flavorful and plenty. Not a fan of the cabbage/carrots, its like hot cole slaw, not what i was expecting. Well visit again.
Went there today for brunch this afternoon. I love this place! The wait staff was super friendly and made you feel at home even offered us samples of porridge since we hadn’t tried it before which was very nice of them. I ordered “big poppa” which was skirt steak over home fries with 2 eggs. When I say it was amazing ... it was AMAZING !! I ate it all !! My boyfriend had chicken and waffles ... I tasted his chicken and MY GOD !! It was the most juicy most seasoned most crunchy chicken I ever tasted !! We will be going back for dinner as I heard the chicken wings are the bomb! Thanks guys
The food is D-E-L-I-O-U-S!!! My sister, daughter and I stooped in for lunch recently and were blown away. We just moved to the area and wanted to try it out. We all began with the cornmeal porridge which was hot and sweetened just right. We ordered the What-a-Jerk Shrimp & Grits, Salmon Scampi & Grits and French Toast Deluxe. Each dish came out nice and hot and seasoned to perfection. Chef Josh and his staff are all very personable and ensured each table was attended to in a timely manner. This place gets busy quick! Will definitely return!!! I heard dinner is even better!!!
Ive had the pleasure to dine in this lovely establishment (pre-covid) and currently order via food delivery apps. Bayview Kitchen you owe me NOTHING!!!! The food is always fresh and well flavored. The portions are generous and coming from a Caribbean background I am proud to say you deliver culture with every bite. The restaurant is One of One!!!...Thank you!! It is a pleasure to support and be a patron of this business!!!
I went on a Sunday for brunch and had a hard time deciding what to eat because everything on the menu looked so good. I decided on the shrimp and grits and I am so glad that I did. It was absolutely amazing!!! The flavor was rich and served in a cute caldron. I also tried the home fries and chicken wings and they did not disappoint. The service is great!!! Everyone has a pleasant smile on their face. Can’t wait to come back to visit.
I’m very disappointed in the experience that I just had here. I ordered the Red Snapper with white rice and sweet plantains. I waited about 40 minutes for the food to come out and once it did I was so disappointed I got a box full of Mac and cheese with the sweet plantains mushed in the bottom and the fish on top of the Mac and Cheese with peppers all over on top. Once I seen my order was messed up I told them and they agreed to fix it. They put the same fish with the Mac cheese on it over rice. The owner then approached me continuously asking about it making me uncomfortable. I just wanted to get out of there.
Just had an awesome meal there today with my sister. The service was excellent. Both Chef’s even came out to see how everyone was doing. The food is a mash-up of West Indian and American cuisine- I had the Jerk Shrimp and grits had such a savory flavor and was served in a mini cast iron pot...adorable! I also had their rum punch and it was just right! I will be back to try some other tasty selections! Thank you chef Asim and Chef Josh!
Amityville has several fine restaurants but for my money this place is the best for a meal that is both delicious and different. The breakfasts are phenomenal - absolutely love the homemade grits. We had a great lunch there too but we havent had a dinner there yet. The staff are super friendly. Its a fairly new place so we are pulling for them to make it through covid!
Brand new, very clean, reasonably priced, nicely decorated, and friendly staff. WiFi and large screen TVs All around nice vibe. Perfect outdoor eating area as well👍🏾👍🏾We went for breakfast. I got the chicken and waffles, my son ordered a generous portion of fries, my friend ordered a personalized omelet with veggies and toast (Total $35 bill...not bad) Food was great....A little on the spicy side so just remember to tell them to hold off on the black pepper. Black owned and operated. In my opinion it’s the best kitchen/diner to eat at on this side of town. Nothing newer and more fresh. Will return to try their lunch menu👍🏾
I really wanted to leave a great review bc 1 i went to school with the owner 2 I ALWAYS want to support black owned businesses. I ordered the chicken wrap with plantains yes it was delicious but I only had like two pieces of chicken on the whole sandwich and I am very disappointed. Its also can with fries that were delicious also but that wrap I cant get over.
I was born and raised in Amityville, and have seen several food spots come in and out of this building on Bayview Ave, but now I think this building has finally become the home of a restaurant with some staying power. You are welcomed by smiling staff in a clean and modern space design, a great curated menu, although short, packing a huge punch featuring many of your American favorites with a West Indian flare, as well as 100% authentic West Indian cuisine.Often, when small establishments like these serve food, the portions are usually off, but at Bayview Kitchen, they get it right, and on top of it all, the presentation of the food is impeccable! Even their take-out containers are on point. If you come here with an appetite, it WILL be satisfied. This is NOT your whole in the wall restaurant. This is a black owned business that demolishes stereotypes and operates in excellence. All in all, this restaurant has nailed it across the board. Great atmosphere driven by a constant mix of island music, great customer service (chef came out to greet customers on several occasions), and AWESOME authentic food makes this for an establishment that will be here for a while, and make sure you return again.....I know I will. Proud of my bro Antoine.SN: Ask about the Gonga Macaroni & Cheese. Its listed as a side, but its sized large enough to be an entrée. 😋
The food and service were excellent. Very friendly service and staff . Owner greeted the people with a smile . I’m proud to say that Josh and Asim are bringing back good soul food to the community and everyone in the surrounding area. May God continue to bless and prosper you and your business.
Food is made to order, delicious, tasty, Caribbean and American fare, prices are reasonable, service is great, everyone is friendly. I had tostones with pickled red onions, and chicken wings with garlic parmesan, sorrel barbecue, sauce. Also had a white sangria! All was finger licking!
Had a wonderful experience in this chic new, black-owned restaurant. We came for dinner and the service was wonderful for the beginning to end, our host was gracious and the owners even came to our table to greet us. The food is carribean inspired and delicious. There were also plenty of signature cocktails to try, my favorite was the Rastarita, a caribbean inspired margarita. Our table tried a variety from the menu and this menu did not disappoint. Everything from the wings, jerk salmon, skirt steak, sweet plantains, gouda mac & cheese and coconut curry shrimp was to die for! Definitely have to go back for the brunch.
12/14/2019 9:30amMy wife and I visited Bay view Kitchen for the first time... in hopes of having breakfast..... UNFORTUNATELY..... we were disappointed. Upon entering the music was too loud. The first table we sat at was filthy, and the hair in the sweetener holder was mortifying! so we moved to another table and before sitting we had to brush the seats clean. The coffee was cold 1st and 2nd .attempt .... no way to rectify this visit...

2021-09-25Besides the good quality and delicious food, I can’t leave unnoticed the attention that Kim gives you… she makes you feel special, she listen and she really is the nicest waitress I ever met. Is very enjoyable when you feel like the person who is taking care of you enjoy what their doing! And you can definitely feel that with Kim!! Owners, listen up! Keep people like Kim happy in their work place.. that’s what makes the difference… and like I said at the beginning.. the food is top notch! But Kim exceeded my expectations and just for her is that I’m coming back! Good job guys!!

2022-01-21This is my 3rd experience with Bayview Kitchen. It is a clean, warm, friendly and inviting restaurant. The food has been consistently DELICIOUS. I highly recommend the fried whiting and the chicken and waffles. Both were cooked and seasoned to perfection. Kudos to the chef AND the staff. I am thrilled to have this restaurant so close to home!

2021-06-20This restaurant was an all around 5 star. Hospitality was excellent. We were seated quickly and they were very kind and thorough. The food came out quickly and it was delicious. One of the best restaurants I have been to in Long Island. The restaurant gives you an island vibe. It played Caribbean music and some old reggae hits. The restaurant is nice to eat inside and they also have outside dining. Price is $$. I paid $100. I ordered 3 meals and one of the meals were a Sunday special which included a pitcher of Hawaiian Mimosa. It was good and they were not cheap with the alcohol.
