BBQ Chicken in other cities:
I used to buy from here often but recently they stopped picking up the phones and so I was unable to place an order for pickup. After repeatedly calling over the course of an hour, someone picked up and rudely hung up while I was talking. I called back once more and the worker began speaking extremely disrespectfully when I asked if I could place an order for pickup. Being that I used to be a frequent customer, I hoped that it was just because they were busy and were handling a lot of orders but when I go to the physical store, I see that it is completely empty and the worker at the counter is on her phone. I am extremely disappointed with how the workers have been acting towards their customers recently and hope it can be improved in the future.
Finally! I can order BBQ online:) Since Ive loved their fried chicken for many years, its really hard to place an order, especially on weekends. I was waiting for my food at the front sofa, and I saw the cashier was really busy to getting so many calls at the same time, and he had to pack up all foods too. So Their website definitely helps the cashier and customers like me. The website is quiet simple, but I like it as long as its easy to order. Plus, their service charge is much lower than any other delivery apps, and fast. It may be because they hire their own delivery person? Anyway, congrats again BBQ, and thanks for the consistent taste for almost 10 years, which makes me keep coming back to this chicken.
I like this place and I goes this place since they opened. This place only for take out owever they not answers phone. Especially holiday or weekends even I calls more than 10 times never can make order over the phone so, if I goes to the store they opened and I heard a lot of people complained about same issues as I do. Not answer to the phone is terrible service against customer !!Some times when they answered phone so many of times there most popular manue is not available too. Even that wasnt near close time. This place getting terrible than usedAlso, they charges bags.I know Shopping place charges for Shopping bags but I never havent seen or paid Shopping bags for when I order to take out foods.
What is going on with place? why arent they answering the phone since covid?update as of July 1st 2021: the ownership has been changed...the chicken taste was not same as before plus there are certain smells coming from chicken.. they even provide me new coupon to start over..they are not accepting the coupon before covid...I miss the prevous chicken taste so much....:(
We ordered the half and half the it was wayyyy to spicy so i called and they made everything new especially for us - including the sauce. I just asked for sauce on the side and it wasnt spicy at all.The fried chicken tasted really fresh and crispy.. And it was also meaty unlike the other chicken places around. Their service is also great! I really like this place.
They must be under new management or something, I ordered the 10pcs Crispy Gold Wings and asked that they give me 5wing and 5 drums that way I even amount of pieces. They told me its random and there is no way they can separate the pieces. They used to do it all the time when they first opened. Poor customer service nice tasty wings.
Never had an issue with this place until I talked to the owner. The customer service was sarcastic and rude. She talked in that nice but aggravating tone. The workers never were so rude and when I asked who I was speaking to, she claimed to be the owner. They dont value customers. Not a good place.
Solid place for late night takeout fried chicken. If you havent had Korean-style fried chicken before, this place is a great start. Its somewhat less greasy than souther fried chicken, more crispy, and if you order the bbq version, more spicy-sweet and flavorful. However, it is takeout only so be prepared to eat it elsewhere.I also see that they are opening a new location in Koreatown soon, so Im really looking forward to that!
This review is only for their BBWings! Ive been a fan of their bbwings since the first time Ive had it! Theyre so good! A little spicy and not greasy, its definitely one of the better korean fried chicken places Ive been to (for bbwings). Ive tried some of their other styles and parts (ie drumsticks, colpop, fries etc) and none of them stands out.. I usually just stick to their bbwings. FYI my favorite wings place in flushing includes mad for chicken(soy garlic + spicy half & half), debasaki (stuffed wings - corn & shrimp), and bbwings from this place. Everything else Ive tried here probably would only get 2 stars.
This place is actually called BBQ Chicken now.So, if youve ever been to the Korean shops such as Bon Chon, Kyo Chon, and such youll pretty much have the same experience. The place serves chicken wings. The interior of the shop is quite small and not really an eat in kind of place, which is what separates it from the other Korean shops mentioned above. Its very bright, nice and never dirty since there isnt really much eating going on inside.Taste. In my honest opinion, the chicken taste very much like the ones you get a at bar, or Buffalo Wild Wings, I got just the BBQ wings and Olive Sweet Spice. It wasnt bad, but it wasnt life altering. If you want something else, they also serve some dishes here like Teri rice cakes, but again, why buy rice cakes at a chicken place. Thats like buying Chinese food at in Indian Restaurant. If youre a fan of chicken wings and feel like the joints you usually go to is much to low quality, maybe the chicken here could change your mind. I dont think so, but I have eaten a lot of chicken.Note, the cost is pricey. I spent almost $40, just buying 2 boxes of wings, which fed 2 people, satiated, not bloat.
I underestimated this small fried chicken place. They have variety of chicken & their dukbokki is the nest in town. Much better chicken than MAD FOR CHICKEN & better dukbokki then Yupki dukbokki place that are near by. And price & portion are much better than these two places as well.
Order La jo yook (spicy fried beef) and tang soo yook(sweet and sour pork) and spicy seafood noodle soup. So so good. La jo yook was really the best Ive ever had including ones I had in Korea. Their free desserts of fried dough with sticky sugar coating were really good too with really good caramel taste and good chewy crunch texture. So highly recommend this place. Cant wait until I go back.
Advertising that you fry your chicken in extra virgin olive oil is clever marketing... but unless youre using uncommonly pure, ultra-refined oil, its BS. Theres a reason you cant deep-fry things in extra virgin olive oil: Its smoke point is lower than most other oils, and it would burn before your food was adequately cooked! Prepared with the finest EVOO is not the same thing as We use only 100% EVOO. To conform to their claim, Id guess that BBQ Chickens fry oil is only some small percentage extra virgin olive, or else your chicken would taste all screwed up....Not that it was even half as good as other Korean fried chicken in the surrounding Murray Hill area. Everything was greasier than fried chicken ever needs to be. The plain fried was the best, but only because of the absence of the goopy, too-sweet, flat sauce that drenches their other varieties - a strange mishmash of flavors like Istanbul grilled, Cajun, teriyaki, herb-marinated, etc. This spot is takeout-only and has no real seating beyond a small waiting area... so if the overwhelming glaze doesnt destroy all crunchiness, then your trip home surely will. Try it if you like your KFC steamed after frying.BBQ Chicken is a successful international chain, but its location here is like Pizza Hut in Italy... unfortunately put to shame by the KFC mecca in which it sits.
Its a really annoying bag. You dont always answer the phone. If your business is doing well, you are saying that it is a double. Fortunately, this place is delicious, so I order it, but I dont want to order it again from a place like this. Ill have to file a complaint with the BBQ head office. This place never answers the phone. If you get lucky, you can order otherwise they never answer the phone. When confronted, owner says because she worked by herself. So Im suppose to understand 😕 all she needs to do is just explain. Very unprofessional
Order by phone. The lady is kindly to me :)Only to go is possible, and it takes about 30 minutes after ordering. I order half fried/half seasoned each time, and both are really delicious! It would be nice to see that there is no chicken of this level (?) in Flushing!!! RecommendedThe reason why the phone connection is difficult is because it is so popular compared to the number of employees. If you connect calmly, you can enjoy delicious chicken.
Ive tried all the chicken restaurants in Queens, but the chicken here is the best. I dont know because I dont order over the phone, but if I cant order by phone, I think you can order through the Door Dash app. Personally, I dont recommend seasoning. It had a stronger sour taste than other places, so it didnt taste like a typical spicy chicken sauce. The fire sauce tastes like spicy gochujang, so this is just that.. Fried is the best.
Chicken is delicious, but use some people. You do it all by yourself, so you dont answer the phone. No matter how many people line up and wait, order or pick-up or something like that, the person who didnt see what was written is at fault.. What if the menu doesnt work after waiting 30 minutes? If you want to buy, buy if you dont want to, dont you say that youre a jerk.. You seem to be doing very well in business... You just came back in a bit of a rush....

2022-07-22Smelled like sewage the minute I walked in. If you want to place an order it’s 30 minutes wait minimum. Took them a while to realize we walked in, There is only one person working so I can imagine why. We left because of the smell in the restaurant.. not appetizing.

2021-02-23I ordered “Wings of fire”. It’s the second most spicy one on the menu. The spicy level was just right for us- it’s sweet and spicy and made my nose runny. It tastes different than any other Korean fried chicken I’ve ever had, however can’t explain what’s the difference. Just the flavor itself is different. It’s crispy and not greasy.I wanna try Olive original chicken/sweet spice chicken next time.Pickled radish was included although some reviews said it’s not included. It takes 25 minutes once you place an order, so plan ahead.

2020-07-14The chicken here is the BEST!! Only problem I have is that they never answer the phone when I want to place an order ahead of time. But overall going to order in store is easy.

2021-12-20I bought a secret spicy chicken and honestly the sauce on the chicken tasted like puke. My siblings all tried a piece and gave it back to me because they couldn’t finish it. The sauce gave off a greasy feeling and had a strong raw tomato scent. I haven’t tasted the other chickens so I can’t say something about their taste but for a store name bbq chicken, I feel disappointed that my first buy tasted awful.

2021-07-08First time trying this place. 20 minute wait for freshly cooked chicken. It was thick crunchy batter basted in thick sweet spicy korean bbq sauce. It was good. Certainly different from American bbq. Yes you should try it.

2020-12-26My husband is a regular customer to this establishment and the chicken is pretty good. But am now taking two stars away because they no longer provide free white radish kimchi sides to go along with the takeaway meals like they used to. Most Korean fried chicken establishments would give it away free. 😝still, it’s mighty crispy and tasty.
