I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Hudson Valley Aesthetics Studio! Melanie is a truly kind, compassionate, and talented person. When speaking with her you can truly tell how much she loves, and takes pride in what she does.I found my way to HVAS as I was diagnosed with PCOS about 5 years ago. Among the symptoms of this disorder is facial hair accompanied by horrible, painful acne. Since I was diagnosed both of those things had done nothing but worsen, with Doctors unable to assist in any way. I had read about electrolysis as an option, but was always to nervous to start. So for years I struggled with waxing atleast once a week, and plucking every day in between. My skin had never looked worse. Where there wasnt acne there was scabbed remnants of where it once was, and the hot wax on my already damaged skin only made it worse. It was a daily battle to just to feel beautiful.One day after burning myself badly with hot wax, I decided I had enough. I looked up places that offered electrolysis, read some reviews, and made some calls. After speaking with Melanie over the phone I made my decision and Im thrilled to say I made the best one possible! Fast forward 6 months after beginning electrolysis and almost all of my facial hair is gone! And turns out that the main cause of the acne wasnt from the hormone imbalance like the Doctors told me. It had been the hair causing it, and with them gone my skin has cleared up. Also being an esthetician she has been furthering the healing and improvement of my skin by giving me the most wonderful and effective skin care regimen i have ever used. My skin hasnt looked this good in years!I cant thank Melanie enough for being so kind, professional, and informative every step of the way, and for helping me to feel beautiful again.
I cant recommend HVAS enough. I had been wanting to get electrolysis for quite awhile, but locating a good electrologist and getting started was so daunting that I kept putting it off. I found online reviews and gave it a shot and Im so glad I did. I have always felt comfortable in the space and Melanie is always a joy to be around. Her expertise was apparent from the start. Ive seen great progress and its such a relief.
Almost in tears, I walked into Beacon Esthetics a year and a 1/2 ago. I sat down for a consultation with Melanie about facial chin hair removal. I explained to Melanie I have been struggling with excessive facial hair for about 8-9 years now. As I got older, it just keeps getting worse. I have had blood test, all came back NORMAL! My physician advised me that women growing facial hair is NORMAL. Some just grow more then others. I tried Laser Removal which made everything 95% WORSE! I pluck everything 2x/day. Once in morning before work, once in evening around 4:00pm. By Morning everything was back FULL FORCE! I’m talking more hair then most men grow! I was embarrassed if my significant other chose a table at a restaurant near a sunny window!Melanie fully explained all the steps in the journey I would be taking to a hair free chin.She advised me to shave instead of pluck. I was so scared to shave as I thought shaving made things worse! She advised me plucking stimulates more growth! And shaving will show us more of what needs to be removed. This was my last shot. And I took it. In the moment I thought about a before picture, but was too upset to even take any type of phone of my face. It just made me more upset to think about having a reminder of this, if my last hope (Melanie) dident work.I followed Melanies instructions to a “T”I swelled after first few appointments, but swelling always went down and everything returned to normal. Keep in mind some people don’t swell much! I just happen to be someone who swells easily.I was upset at first. I had so much hair is was hard to tell if it was working. After hanging in there for a couple more appointments, THE HAIR STARTED to get thinner and thinner! And eventually DIDENT GROW BACK!!Pain? Just think if it as a small amount of heat pressure. Then it’s gone.Melanie changed my quality of life! I would recommend her to anybody!! She is without a doubt a professional, and only recommends procedures that work!P.S take the before photo!

2022-06-15I’ve been seeing Melanie for years now and she has changed my skin for the better! She always goes above and beyond to make sure my skin gets exactly what it needs when I go in for a facial. I always follow her recommendations on products to use to keep my skin looking it’s best after appointments. I have sensitive and easily irritated skin, and she is the only one who has been able to figure out what it needs!

She is meticulous in everything she does. Best of all, the results are clear. After I started seeing Melanie, I started getting a lot more compliments on how great my skin looked.Health is everything, and to me, the work Melanie does is about both health and true beauty: During complex times, Melanie has helped me find the strength to be there for others, as I would wish to be.Her studio is also the perfect place for a facial. Calm. Quiet. Extremely and deeply clean. My only issue is that I relax so deeply I usually sleep through much of the facial. Highly recommended!

2021-01-01I strongly recommend Melanies electrolysis work. She does a very good job removing hair with minimal pain and quick recovery. She is very thoughtful too about tricky areas, like brows and hairline/around the ears. She was able to spend a few hours removing just the right hairs and totally changed the shape of my face in a way Im very happy with. She really thinks about this as an art and is very excited about how she can make your face look better.She plays music (if you want) during the process to make it more pleasant.

2018-10-20I am a transgender woman. This past June I decided it was time to begin electrolysis on my face. I researched local electrologists and placed calls to several. After my first conversation with Melanie, I knew that she was the perfect fit. When we met for the initial consultation and first treatment I knew I had made the right decision. Melanie is a true professional and a warm caring person. I was totally at ease from the very start.After approximately 20 one hour sessions over the last 4 months I am seeing wonderful results.I could not be more pleased with the progress we have made. Melanie has also worked on shaping my eyebrows and they now look fantastic. Melanie is very concerned about my comfort and lets me know what she is doing every step of the way. I feel better about myself, more attractive and more confident because of Melanies skills. 2015-08-25My Experience with Hudson Valley Aesthetics Studio has nothing but the best.Melanie is a real professional and loves what she does. I have been battling with white course hairs for years. I have shaved, waxed, threaded and used laser over time but nothing worked.After three treatments from Melanie, you could see a difference. 2015-09-02I was fed up with plucking and tired of spending at least $300 every year just having my eyebrows waxed. Melanie is awesome! My eyebrows have never looked better. The first time I went, she sat me down and discussed electrolysis so that I knew exactly what to expect. Within a few appointments Melanie managed to shape my brows perfectly (which were so skinny when I first came here, thanks to an overzealous stylist at the waxing salon).The atmosphere is very relaxing- almost spa like. It is clean and comfortable as well. Melanie is very professional and friendly.
