Excellent experience. Scenery is just amazing, words dont do it justice, nor do pictures, must see it to appreciate its beauty fully. Great staff, very friendly and willing to go out of their way to help you. Now food, I went in with low expectations, simply just because of a few bad reviews, well I can honestly say that food was AMAZING, I had the full rack of lamb it was delicious. Definitely got the quantity and quality. I highly recommend this place to everyone. Go try it and come back here and like 👍 my review as a thank you for the recommendation.
This is one of the greatest, most beautiful gems that Upstate NY has to offer. The grounds and the venue are simply breathtaking. Especially if you like creepy, old, haunted houses. Ive been here twice - once for a murder mystery dinner and another time for dining and drinks. Had a blast both times. Food was wonderful. Drinks in the scary dungeon were awesome. I love this place.
Hands down, best cuisine along the Mohawk. Had our wedding reception here (photo courtesy of Candace Jeanne Photography, Pittsburgh) and dine here practically every year for our wedding anniversary. Unique atmosphere, fantastic menu, clean environment, and friendly servers. Extremely competent management. As a wedding officiant and novice photographer, I recommend this place to all couples in the Mohawk Valley region.
Ok so this place is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! My wife and I started with the bbq eel, gator cake and the Calamri. The gator and bbq eel were by far 2 of the greatest appetizers I ever had. For dinner I had the tuna steak with horseradish mashed potatoes. The tuna was beautifully cooked, amazing flavor. The horseradish mashed potatoes were out of this world. My wife had the Strip with garlic mashed. Again an absolutely beautiful cut. The char was amazing the greens had a nice crunch with a soft inside. Absolutely worth the 5hrs drive. We were fortunate enough to me one of the owners Lynn at the end of our dinner, was a extremely polite thanking us for the long drive. I thank her again for an amazing night and dinner.THIS PLACE IS A TRUE JEM. ....... I never talk about another place in my post but check my post on Crum Creek CSA. If your up here have to stop there
The castle is a beautiful, remote, location for an event or just to have dinner. Downstairs is a bar called The Dungeon where you can eat, or just enjoy a few drinks. The ambience is absolutely perfect for taking you back into a more medieval time. The entire restaurant smells of smoked applewood as the food is prepared over a fire. Speaking of the food, its DELICIOUS! We drove an hour and twenty minutes to have dinner here and it did not disappoint. The entire staff was kind, fun, and just all around amazing! We love it here and chose it as our wedding venue! Cant wait to come back!
We attended Beardslee Castle for the first time last night when I took my boyfriend for his birthday supper. Ive driven by MANY times and have been wanting to try it. We were beyond impressed. Both he and I work/worked in the industry (he as a chef & myself as a pastry chef and most recently, an event planner), so were a bit over critical at restaraunts, but we were most certainly not disappointed at Beardslee!!!!Everything from the decor & building to our server, the hostess & bartender to the historic building & general ambiance to the wine & food was just impeccable! Even with a wedding going on upstairs, service was far from lacking. We have been talking about getting married and I had my heart set on a small, white country church. Until last night. Beardslee is now my #1 choice!Thank you everyone who made my boyfriends birthday supper perfect. I truly cannot say it enough!
We had dinner in the dungeon, the meal was excellent, very generous servings. Dinner for 3 with appetizers was actually fairly reasonable. Its a cool place, the dungeon had a great mix of people and Im sure the upstairs atmosphere is great too. Will definitely go back!
I didnt like it, this is a reck neck place ,sorry, horrible, iask for an appetizer of fry calamares ,they were muggy and greasy ,not crunchy at all And ,slappy same with the food is nothing Good about this place in the midle of nowhere food a litle in your plate and doesnt Say nothing ay all in taste for such a ridiculous price, who wants to get marry in there ,i went downstairs ,im pretty sure someone is buried somewhere it look spooky, dirty and weird, huh, never again
We had such a great time here, the castle and the gardens are beautiful, and the food is out of this world!! The flowers and trees are very unique, almost tropical, the gardens and little passage ways through the grounds are just amazing. If you want a fine dining experience in a georgous setting, this is the place! Its a beautiful place to take a walk around too! There is a huge swing, and a little old jail cell (?) in the back, in case anyone gets out of hand. :) They also do weddings here and I think its the perfect atmosphere for it. Beardsley Castle is the whole package!!
Beardslee Castle is an amazing place. We had been here for a wedding in the past but have never taken the time to just dine here and enjoy it until recently. What a treat. The Autumn pasta was divine, my Saranac steak was fantastic and we ended the night in front of the fireplace. Staff was very accommodating and polite. I’m sad that we haven’t done this until now. We will most definitely be back.
If you love eating delicious food, drinking from a huge variety of craft beers and wines, the castle atmosphere, and even playing a round of pool, you MUST check out Beardslee Castle! Legitimately one of the best dining experiences Ive had. Not to mention, this is an absolutely wonderful wedding venue :)
What a beautiful castle. Lovely food and wonderful service. I had the walnut encrusted porkloin and garlic whipped mashed potatoes. For dessert we had creme brulee. It was my father in laws birthday and he was absolutely in heaven with his Texas shrimp and scallops. Will def go back
We had our wedding here and it was incredible! The food was so excellent and many of my guests say they still think of the meals they had ha. The site is beautiful and well maintained, the owners and staff are friendly and accommodating, and the wedding was so affordable and perfect for us. Cant recommend it enough.
Best meal I think Ive ever had. We had the bay scallops appetizer, shrimp and scallops entree, the duck entree with fire roasted green beans and carmalized onion mashed potatoes, canoli-poleon dessert, pumpkin spice cheesecake and the best darn creme brulee Ive ever tasted!! Our waitress Hannah was incredible, she was so helpful with suggesting things to try and definitely didnt steer us wrong. She got us some literature about the castle to read as well. All in all our Beardslee experience was top notch and we will definitely be back because of Hannah and the creme brulee.
Stunning castle and had a beautiful wedding here in October. My only qualm is we felt extremely rushed when it came to the food. My husband and I stood up for a second and when we turned around, all of the food had already been removed from our table. The food was delicious and we werent finished! The same thing happened at our rehearsal dinner the night before. With how expensive the catering was, we just wish we wouldve been asked if it was okay to take all of the food before they removed it. (We had hoped to take some home as we paid for a number of heads that didnt show and there was a TON left over.) Just some suggestions for the future...
I honestly dont even know where to begin when it comes to Beardslee Castle! I cant say enough great things. My husband and I got married there in July, and the entire wedding process was so easy with the help of Lynn. She was truly my saving grace when things got stressful. She is so great at all things wedding related, and you will be in the best hands for your big day! Beyond a wedding planner, she really took the time to get to know us, and I dont know what I would have done without her. Anything I forgot, she remembered! She went above and beyond for my husband and I; we cant thank her enough. The venue itself is breathtaking, inside and out! Im in awe every time I visit. The overall feel of the castle is just as beautiful as the physical appearance. The owner/chef worked his magic on the food (as always) and everything was even better than we had expected. He even took the time out of his busy night to personally congratulate us. We really loved that. Ive always dreamed of a fairytale wedding and Beardslee Castle was the perfect place for our happily ever after. Im honored we had the privilege of making our dreams come true there. My husband and I had the night of our lives and our guests had a great time, too! We highly recommend over and over again!
Ive known about this place forever but didnt realize it was as close as it is. Its just a great place to visit and luckily the food is really good as well. I had pork loin stuffed with andoulli sausage with a bacon/bourbon sauce. Theres a casual bar in the basement for a quick pint if youre passing through.
After holding a wedding on Friday Oct 1st, 2021, we have come away with nothing but excellent things to say about Lynn and her staff. She went above and way beyond on helping us schedule, present, and fulfill any expectation we had. Patient, yet, knowing when to step up the pace is just a couple of her qualities. Always a smile and an extended hand to help wherever or whenever she could. Thank you Lynn for everything. The food speaks for itself as you will receive quality throughout your meal. If you want to schedule an event or are just looking for a nice night out, call Beardsley Castle and sit back and enjoy. Respectfully, Rick McCorry and Michelle Pierce.
I had my bridal shower at the Beardslee Castle this weekend and it exceeded all expectations! Lynn was accommodating, flexible, and very easy to work with. Planning during covid is difficult, but Lynn made sure that the event was fun, and safe for guests. A few days before the event I brought all of the decorations and did a mock set up to make sure the day would be perfect. The food was delicious and our menu was customizable! Lynn and her team helped with the set up and take down. I highly recommend the Castle for any event!!!
We had our wedding here 11/2017 one of the best experiences. Lynn was a saving grace to a very crazy awesome day. Her attention to detail and organizational skills blew our minds she was the backbone of our day. We just had our anniversary dinner this evening and the food was to no surprise out of this world. We highly recommend Beardslee for dinner and events. We also like to just go out precovid for food and drinks in the dungeon bar.
We are always so impressed and happy with our experience at Beardslee! We are having our wedding here in October and are thrilled with how accommodating Lynn and the staff have been through the whole process - before and during Covid. The communication has been excellent, all of our questions and concerns addressed, and we could not feel more at ease! We highly recommend dinners and weddings here - you will not be disappointed!
Experience is wonderful, cant beat eating dinner in a castle. Everyone is extremely friendly and the food is pretty good. Got the alligator as an appetizer and it was delightful, the jalapeno sauce was very tasty. The before dinner salad was great and high quality (no iceberg garbage here) with a delicious dressing. For dinner got the bacon wrapped filet which wasnt quite seasoned and the bacon could have been cooked more but overall it was quite good. The vegetables were seasoned very nicely and were actually a little spicy, I loved them. The lobster and shrimp ravioli was very good. The creme brulee was pretty good, but the banana madness was absolutely fantastic. Cant wait to go back when its not covid so I can check out more of the place.
My Wedding was held here on September 28th of 2019 and it was absolutely gorgeous. Lynn was so extremely helpful with everything and was always available if needed. I would highly recommend Beardslee Castle to anyone looking for thee fantasy wedding. We just celebrated our 1 year and we did return for dinner and it was so delicious and the experience even during this pandemic was fantastic thank you again for another wonderful memory. We shall see you in the years to come.
We got married here back in 2018, and the food was very good. It was pretty smooth overall with regards to the wedding, other than the wedding planner. She had no personality at all. One issue we had was with bringing dessert’s (I come from an Italian family). The wedding planner however, in fact did say to my mother that she could bring her own cookies for dessert. Now keep it mind we purchased the cake from Beardslee. When that time came, she did give us a hard time saying “she never agreed to allowing us to bring our own desserts”, although we had 10 witnesses that heard her say it was ok. Of course my mother fired back with a few choice words, including my mother in law. Which we paid a pretty decent price for the wedding. Needless to say, the huge tip I intended on leaving was nullified to a minimum. Hope it was worth it! Also we were very disappointed that they had a poor sound system for the wedding vows, the speakers kept cutting in and out. In my opinion, everything should be just about perfect when your spending that kind of money.
My daughters wedding was the first one after the COVID lockdown. The owners and staff went above and beyond to make my daughters dreams come true. Food was excellent as always and the mashed potato bar was a hit! Wedding planners were in constant contact with us and were on top of everything.
The staff was very welcoming and suggested we walk through and look around. The castle is beautiful. The food was delicious. I had the fried ravioli in marina to start and the strip steak with a smokey brown sauce as my main dish. We finished off the night with drinks in the dungeon bar. We will be back!
Great location and decoration, the castle itself was very interesting and definitely gave off a haunted vibe. as for the experience, it was rather disappointing. firstly, we made reservations for 5pm and did not eat until 7. we even watched the couple next to us, who arrived 30 minutes later than us, finish their meals before we could even receive ours. the waitress was very kind and helpful, but most of the food was not up to par. the steak was very disappointing and my family was very upset about it. the pasta, on the other hand, was decent. overall, i understand that the restaurant got busy, but we felt unattended to since the food took so long.
We got Married here 23 years ago and went back to celebrate. While we didnt make reservations and were not able to dine in the upstairs dining area, we were quickly offered to dine in the downstairs bar. The service and the food was top rate and the atmosphere was awesome! We will definitely wont be waiting 23 years to return! The outside grounds were beautiful and well maintained. I would highly recommend for dining or for a wedding venue! Cant wait to go back!
I have never been to this restaurant, but was considering to plan a visit for my family. Then I saw how the owner (Randall) responded to some of the earlier comments. That was it for me! A special type of condescending he seems to be. The idea of visiting this place and the small chance of having to interact with that individual sounds just awful. He is not getting our business.
I would like to try eating here again but went for 1st time for a murder mystery show/dinner. I was not impressed. I could barely hear a word from any of the actors even when they came closer to where I was sitting to interact with us. Food was okay but not great. Hopefully the restaurant downstairs has fine dining because that night certainly was not. Overall seemed like a visually lovely place outside but I was hoping for a bit more inside
The food was deliciously savory. The tossed salad with meal was a wonderful mix of greens with cranberries and sunflower seeds and a house dressing. Bread and pesto was good and warm. Water has a metallic taste I did not care for but we both really enjoyed our meals. My 2nd time. My fiancees 1st though he did we would go again. Beautiful place very romantic.
They ruined my best friends wedding. She got married there last month, I was her maid of honor. We were not treated like guests, we were treated like a burden. The staff was rude, at a wedding?? They started cleaning up while we were still there at the end of the night. I personally heard them say to each other “yeah, they’re mad at us right now for cleaning up while they’re still here.” You’re not really talking about us right in front of us, are you? To top that off they almost tripped the bride (my best friend) with the vacuum cord in her wedding dress and never even apologized, just acted like they didn’t notice. We wanted more food they told us there was no more, but we had guests that did not show up, there should’ve been extra? We wanted “to go” boxes but they said it’s buffet style, so you can’t have a box (but we paid for this food on the table?)The rules with masks and social distancing make things complicated enough, but they kept policing the guests to wear their masks even while we’re trying to take photos and dance with each other. The manager, Lynn, even shooed us off the dance floor at one point (4 people) because we weren’t wearing masks together. Her guests?? I was 1 of 4 on the dance floor when she did that. The staff never smiled. And kept “telling on us“ to the manager, Lynn, when we we’re either too close to each other or not wearing our masks. Yet they took PHOTOS OF THEMSELVES in the brides photo booth, without her knowing, that she paid for, WITHOUT their masks on! We literally have photo evidence of them contradicting themselves after all the attitude they gave us.The brides plate was dirty, there was dried food on it. I saw it with my own eyes because I was sitting right next to her and she showed me.The worst part was in my opinion, that when the bride complained to the manager about the way she was treated, after how hard she worked to make this wedding still happen during a global pandemic, the manager Lynn, basically mocked her and just said “no I didn’t” back to everything she said. Adding passive aggressive remarks to all her written responses to the bride. Completely denying all of my friends complaints instead of apologizing, like a professional. Showing kindness, and understanding that yes, your wedding was ruined by a pandemic, and yes, our staff was rude to you as a collective whole and “ I’m so sorry“ and “thank you” for your business. No. Instead, Lynn actually tried to pin the mother of the bride and the entire bridal party against the bride... by saying that we all “talked badly about her behind her back that day.” How could anybody say something like this? How extremely unprofessional, and truly terrible. I’ve been the bride’s best friend for 13 years, I know her family, they are a tight unit. Nobody would’ve ever said anything bad about the her? Especially on her wedding day. How could Lynn try to turn our family against each other.. just because she can’t take some well deserved criticism? My best friend ended up reporting her bad experience to the Better Business Bureau, as she should. I really hope they do something about the way she, her husband, and her wedding guests were treated.
Absolutely gorgeous setting. Eating dinner in a castle was just incredible. The service was okay, a little slow, but they were busy. It felt like they kept being out of everything I wanted to order which was frustrating. I ended up with the chicken which was a bit dry, but nothing mind blowing. Ill definitely go back for the atmosphere, but stick to the dungeon food.
We went to a Mystery theater dinner. Truthfully have eaten in the restaurant and it was wonderful. The mass dinner theater food was not up to expectations. Our table never got bread, and thre salad was boring. The desert was the best part. The actors were very engaging and enjoyable.
We visited for the dinner theater. The show was good, however the actors were distracted, ( as were the patrons), by a number of guests that apparently misunderstood the idea of audience participation. Evidently the behavior was tolerated by management; would it have been acceptable in general dining areas as well? The food was good but just warm, I suppose due to the challenge of serving so many guests at once.I had to take a walk to get coffee to have with dessert, but neednt have bothered as there were only two carafes, both empty, to serve over 100 people. The bathrooms are what you might find in a tavern on a busy night; the stink of sulphur water doesnt help. The building is interesting and unique and the help was friendly. I may have caught them on a bad night, and we did enjoy the evening despite these minor inconveniences.
Best duck dinner Ive ever had and the venue was incredibly beautiful. When I told them that I have Celiac disease, they provided gluten free bread at no extra charge and took wonderful care of us. Id recommend this place to everyone looking for a unique dining experience.
My daughter had her wedding at the Castle last weekend. The food was excellent and plentiful, the atmosphere was lovely, and the service staff, led by Jennifer, were better than I could have hoped. Jennifer and her crew of capable wait staff, solved every glitch before it became a problem. She saved my sanity as she smoothed our experience. I couldnt have asked for more, they made the day a total success.
I had bigger expectation for the food. The Brussel sprouts and the orzo with the spinach appetizers were excellent but the pork egg rolls were greasy although flavorful. The pasta primavera was savory and the entree that I really liked. The duck looked red like it was undercooked, maybe I am not a person that likes medium rare meat...thus I gave it to my husband , he ate it but also said that it had no flavor, the chicken was dry and the salmon was overcooked.
Great place for a wedding, special event or banquet. We went with friends while a wedding was taking place in the upstairs area and we were in the lower level or dungeon area which had a great ambiance, fun areas and the food was outstanding. Great experience we still talk about.
Attended Murder Mystery Dinner Theater. Show was good, fun and very interactive. Staff very attentive and friendly. Food was ok, could gave been warmer, chicken over cooked, roast beef and mashed potatoes very good. Love the old world class of the castle. Would love to return to have meal in dining room.
Great food, but a bit pricey in my opinion. The grounds and the building exterior are not very well kept (literally falling apart). There is little to see as far as gardens go from the lower section were my family was served. I did wander upstairs to the banquet area and there are many windows overlooking the courtyards, but leaves a lot to the imagination since many look right into vines or other overgrowth! This business could be so much more if done differently
Its a castle that has all the feel of a castle. The inside smells like woodsmoke and fire and the woman who gave up a youre was really friendly and helpful too. We were visiting as a possible wedding site and they were very helpful with food allergy accomodations as well. 10/10 would recommendIf you have asthma, you may want to bring an inhaler if strong woodsmoke smells may cause you an attack.
Smaller than I thought it was going to be but thats due to a fire that claimed most of the original rock structure. The bar is in the dungeon which is really neat and the dining area is large for dining and wedding or banquets. The grounds are beautiful all the way around for pictures!
Nice decor. Went there for my nieces wedding where I provided the DJ Service. The owner had a bad attitude. My niece was assured that she could stay longer when she booked the event but the manager refused and so I reprogrammed the event to end early. When I ended the event, the manager came over and said my niece had paid for the extra hour that the owner refused. I made them refund my niece the money and the manager didnt offer an apology. it seems the manager and the owner are on two different pages. Other guests relayed to me that the manager was also rude during the night. When we cut the cake, they had the cake in a corner and wouldnt move the cake to the center of the room so everyone could see. Good thing we have videos and pics. When I packed up equipment and loaded my van, I returned to say goodnight, they locked the door and wouldnt open it for me and made me go out front door and walk to the back out in the freezing cold. I would suggest any bride to coordinate the event with BOTH the manager and owner who seem to be having a power dispute. Otherwise, everyone had a great time and loved the ambiance.
Thanksgiving dinner 2018. Service was impeccable. Friendly, unrushed. Turkey, potatoes, cranberries, yum. Dressing was a curious soggy white bread, white onion mush.We would like to know more about the castle, but nothing was printed in the menu and our server offered no info.We will definitely go back to find out what is in the dungeon (bar).
I just had my wedding at Beardslee Castle and it was as perfect as I could have hoped. Lynn and Jessica are great, the food was fabulous (I didnt eat too much, but the guests told me they loved everything, especially the appetizers). Since it was a Friday wedding, we were able to hold our rehearsal and dinner there the night before and set up the decorations as well. My guests keep raving about the location and how great the pictures are; Im very glad I found out about the castle and that it was so affordable.
Went here for a wedding, so Im unsure what a typical dining experience here is. But it is a beautiful location for a wedding, a delightful, enchanted feel between the well kept grounds, the castle dungeon bar, and the overall atmosphere of the beautiful old building.
A hidden gem tucked into the countryside. Hands down the largest and most versatile wine selection that I have ever encountered! Choose between a fine dinning experience to remember and the dungeon for mates and wenches below. No matter what you go there for expect a unique experience!
Nice atmosphere. Waitress was VERY helpful and pleasant. The duck with strawberry/cherry? Sauce was very tasty. My husbnds steak however, was 50% grissle/chewy fat, and had to be left. My friends fillet minyon(?) was poor, and the pasta dish had no distinctive flavour. All round, it was not worth the money.
I just had my wedding there. I had an amazing time! Jennifer and Lynn are such pros! I didnt have to worry about anything. The entire staff there did such an awesome job making my day speacial. Not to mention, the food was to die for. I got so many compliments on the wedding. Thank you Jennifer and lynn!!!
Not impressed! Actually Im extreamly dissatisfied! Service was aweful and forgetful! Waitress forgot to bring us 3-4 drinks we ordered and a dessert! Took us an hour to get sat even though there were many open tables and we had reservations. It took an hour and a half to get our over cooked meal! But it doesnt stop there! 3 months ago I book 3 rooms at Overlook Mansion- which was wonderful by the way- for my mothers 50th birthday and mothers day present about a 4 hour drive for us. I call and email Beardsley castle to get into the murder mystery dinner for Saturday night and they are sold out! So we were on the waiting list in case of no shows or cancelations. I have emailed about 3 times to check if we can get in and when we get to dinner at 7 I tell the hostess we really want to get upstairs if there are any no shows and I had been talking to Jennifer the wedding planner told me if there were no shows we would be the first notified. My sister and I thought about this place as a potential venue for our weddings so we wanted to scope it out! The hostess didnt even look and told us she would! Come to find out some guest we stayed with at Overlook Mansion told us there was a table of 8 that didnt show up plus many seats vacant! Overall this experience was awful and this is a very unorganized business there was nothing pleasant about this experience besides the Aesthetics of the building. Not to mention we spend around 400 dollars on dinner for the 6 of us that was not good at all :(
We arrived at the restaurant at around 7:00pm for our reservation art the same time, and after a slightly being misled by my uncles wife we were seated in the dungeon. It is indeed a dungeon area, including a few methods of torture. The first are the chairs, which I must say are likely one of thee most uncomfortable chairs I have sat in. The second method are the restrooms in this area, which were so heavily laden with caustic clearers that Im pretty sure I lost a few braincells upon using the mens restroom. Despite the dungeon being near silent, our waitress had trouble hearing the things we said. Ill give her that she was a new hire and was likely trying to get use to her surroundings, but almost all our questions were redirected to another waitress who has been there longer. Food wise, the meals were pretty good. I had a caesar salad to start, and a burger to finish. The salad was slightly tangy, and the lettuce had a nice crunch. The burger was grilled to my specified doneness, though I had expected it to be more then just a burger; it was missing onions, lettuce, and tomato. I didnt complain though, as I didnt want to bother the poor girl who was serving us, since she had already made a few mistakes. The rest of my party seems to throughly enjoy their meals, and at a price that was pretty reasonable. I will say that the dungeon is damp, and had a the smell of a cave; not terrible just not all that fresh. There were also many gnats and flies buzzing around this area, which did become bothersome before, during , and after the meal. Probably wouldnt want to eat in the dungeon area again, though I heard the main dining area is very expensive. Overall, it was an alright place to eat but just too far out of the way to bother with again; with what problems it did have.
Kinda small..and we had to walk through the dining area... multiple times while my niece was getting ready for her wedding...bar is cool but another set of stairs to get down to the basement for a cocktail until the reception... where some were celebrating a wedding and some were just there dining.....we were upstairs...old people not good with having to climb those stairs ..lol..food was really good...👍👍.but probably not a well thought out design when transforming into a wedding venue..
Went to my nephews wedding service was very very rude water taste like sulfur they need to filter their water and buy ice because everything they serve with ice taste like sulfur water the food was not good at all two people at our table didn’t even get the chicken one person did not even get any roast beef asked for them to refill the dishes and they never came back with refill dishes for what they pay for a wedding and the money they pay on the food every guest should leave they’re trying everything on the table would never Recommend having a wedding there the only good side is the pictures outside for the wedding is amazing but once you walk inside it all goes downhill from there
Sad to say the food was definitely not up to par we come here for our anniversary and for our birthday because close friends share the same dates, well the year before was not good but last year was great I understand they had a murder mystery dinner going on but what about customers if they couldnt keep up should close dining room.my husband ordered fish fry not kidding they brought it to us black was in restaurant business 30 years never would I have served this husband ate it because he didnt want to upset dinner,my burger was bad also but my friends open roast beef was awsome so one good sad to say we are going to look for another place to celebrate anniversary now,sad love the charm of the castle but the food is always hit or miss.

2022-05-28Recording said they were fully booked. Called later and got reservations for 7:30. Arrived and found a nearly empty restaurant upstairs. Still had to wait 30 minutes for table. Went to bar in the basement, the castles dungeon, only to be ignored by three very busy bartenders. We went upstairs to ask about our table, and it was ready...although it had not changed in the past half hour! Still only one other couple in the room and several empty tables.Took another hour to get our food. My pasta was undercooked.. it needed another few minutes prep just to make it Allende! Inedible. The shrimp and scallops were tasty. Be sure to ask about salads. Apparently a garden salad comes with the meal, so dont bother ordering the cooked greens. Which, by the way, contains meats. Vegetarians beware.Wife ordered the chicken breasts which came with a really tasteless and dry rice cake thing. Couldnt eat it. Friend ordered bbq eel. He loves eel, but this had a fishy smell and taste. He was not enthused. Oh, and we sent back the ice water which smelled like sulfer. They brought us bottled water for which they charged $2.00 each.By the time we were finished we were there for almost two hours and never saw more than two couples upstairs.Be prepared to be ignored and possibly disappointed in ur food. All things considered, a throughly unsatisfactory meal and service. Dinner for five came to over $215.00... does not include any alcohol which we paid for separately.Recommend u try the bar and take photos. Then u can say u ate in a replica or an Irish Castle.

2022-06-26Another perfect dining experience! My daughter has a dairy allergy and this is a restaurant that takes extra precaution regarding her allergies. Randy creates an ensemble of a perfect meal every time for my daughter. Ten people were at our dinner party last night, and everyone LOVED their meal. The entire experience is always perfect. The environment is beautiful so no matter where you are seated, it is always amazing. Staff are always wonderful. The food is delicious and priced competitively with other fine dining establishments. I can expect, because I know I will receive, a perfect dining experience every time! Thanks Randy and Lynn from our entire family as always!

2022-05-13Their Thanksgiving meal, as well as Easter, murder mystery dinners, and any weekend really is always amazing and I highly recommend it. The atmosphere, as well as the castle itself, is beautiful. My only suggestion is that they add the ability to make reservations online, through their website, and repave their parking lot. I just love this place!

2022-05-07The castle itself is outstanding so beautiful. We were in the bar area having lunch it was a little busy but the server was very kind and accommodating the food was exceptionally amazing. A little pricey but more than worth. Cant wait to go back

2022-05-14Mostly i prefer the downstairs dungeon space. Its more cozy and intimate.Excellent cocktail and wine selection, with rotating beers on tap.Food celebrates fresh, local and seasonal ingredients : our visit was mid May and sauteed fiddleheads were the special.Love this space for dinners, plus its gorgeous for your big events like weddings / parties / etc.

2022-03-06We were there for the murder mystery dinner . Our last time for the murder mystery dinner, the food was really good. This time not so much !! Chicken was extremely hard and dry, potatoes were very dry, roast beef was hard to chew, macaroni and cheese was hard and tasteless. Also everything was only a little warm !!! Nothing was was what you would expect your meal to be . Very very disappointing!!!! NO VEGETABLES TO BE HAD !!!! The best was the Death by Chocolate cake, which was awesome ! The mystery was lots of fun and very enjoyable!!! The actors did a great job. We like going to the castle, but the food has suffered very much over the past two years !! Not sure we will make a return visit .

2022-05-14My chicken was great but others in party were disappointed with the food quality for the price. Waited almost 1.5 hours for our meal. Service was so bad they gave us dessert on the house to compensate for our long wait. Grounds are beautiful but think it is way over rated as a fine dining experience. First and last visit.
