The vibe of Belle Reve is terrific. Music oscillating between 90s and 00s hits, the bar staff clearly having an excellent time serving delicious cocktails, and the layout lending itself to to the spontaneous dancefloor. Its a great place to be on a weekend night, no doubt about it. Add in the fact that the food is DELICIOUS, and its an easy choice for a night out. High recommend.
I came here a few weeks ago for their $1 Oyster happy hour, and greatly enjoyed the ambiance of the place. Its cozy, has a personality to it. The drinks are priced cheaper than a lot of places in the surrounding area, and the happy hour deals were good, too. Havent had the chance to try more food, but I plan on coming back to this spot.Edit: came back again and it was great! much more busy at 8 on a weeknight, but still a great vibe, not too loud (though definitely a scene), I had the fired mozzarella and they were great, attentive friendly waiter, I think I will make this place a regular haunt!
Rocking gastropub with great tacos and a cultivated 90s alternative rock soundtrack on most nights. Bartender/manager Lea is the life of the party and spearheads the somewhat experimental cocktails that all have their own vibe. Recently remodeled, belle still has kept most of its rocking aesthetic pre quarantine as well as evolving with the current times to be a safe, fun, chill environment.
I was super impressed with this place. It is such a unique find for the area. Spots in tribeca can otherwise feel pretentious. They play awesome tunes (think Peter Bjorn & John, Franz Ferdinand, MGMT) along with it being a more elevated dive bar feel with cozy decorations, hanging plants and big windows that are beautiful when the sun comes through. The best part is the food is actually really good. No microwaved mozzarella sticks with your drinks here! Staff was friendly and attentive. They also are really Covid attentive. Food and drinks come in disposable containers and they take your temperature before you come into the main area.Independent, music focused spots like this are what makes NYC great. It’s like meeting a person who is not afraid to be themselves. ♥️
Interesting vibe, eclectic crowd - Oscars on the big screen one night, jazz rock five piece on a Tuesday. The food sounds great but was mostly disappointing, but the drinks were generous and offered a decent variety. The service was quick and easy to navigate, not unfriendly but clearly there to serve drinks and get on with the show.
Look, I love this place. It is a a dive bar but had something for everyone. One of the things that I love is you get your normal sell out music play listst...then 20 minutes later you will get the stooges, iggy pop with Sabbath and Black Flag. Then Grandmaster Flash, Young MC and Fat Boys...back to boring play list but then something interesting again...
Went there for happy hour and I was very pleased. The tator tots were good and the nachos were OK. They had a good variety of beers, not huge but good enough for me. The service was nice and it was not too crowded. I would go back again especially since my office is close.
Look for Bella. She is honestly the most attentive waitress. I ordered the dirty bird and the retro burger. These were decent meals. The waitress made the night though. Im telling you look out for Bella. She is an awesome waiteess! She made me and my fiancee feel welcomed!
We had heard about Belle Reve as a new creation from the veterans of Employees Only so we decided to give it a try despite the time of night (after 1:30a) for a quick bite to eat and a drink. The place itself is dimly lit and divey in the best way and manages to be really welcoming as well, especially during a cold night. The music (hard rock) was a bit on the loud side but the overall ambiance was great for couples or for a small group of friends. We started with the crispy calamari which was spicy and delicious and then grabbed the garlic bread, which was perfectly toasted! I really like this place at all hours of the day and its definitely a great stop after a night out.
Way too expensive for such a mediocre meal. And the after-work crowd leaves a lot be desired. The bar area is quite small. So they bring out the standing tables to accommodate all the people swarming out of local offices. That makes things a bit tight for anyone not sitting right up against the window. And its dark. Why is it so dark??? I actually had to use my phone to verify that my food was okay. Lots of others were using their phone flashlights just to walk around. Thats when its officially too dark.Again, its a good place for after-work drinks, but the dude behind me who reserved a table for a date.... oh boy. I mean, it sounded like it was going well, but its too loud and too dim for a first date. Unless you actually get a good look at them before you come in.Now the food... The French Onion Soup was standard. The Mussels Special with bacon in a tomato sauce was quite spicy (nice if you love spice, not so much if you dont) and too salty. The server went to get me a spoon for the broth, but it was just too salty to enjoy straight. It was also so damn dark, Im not sure I got all my mussels. Especially since I didnt get a bowl for the discards. The Mac and Cheese was the biggest disappointment. It tasted funny. Not cheesy. Kinda sour. Bleck! I hadnt planned on going home right away but I started feeling queasy right after eating that Mac and Cheese. It takes a hell of a lot for me to call it a night at 8:30 (ask Phil H.) so I really wasnt feeling well.I guess if you are one of those After-Work people and you dont mind standing and eating after sitting on your butt all day, and you feel the need to compulsively grope your boyfriends ass right in front of my face.... Oh, I left that part out??? Anyway, this might be the place for you.
Pretty cool local spot in TriBeCa, cool atmosphere, good service! While in the area it was time for a bite to eat and this place was staring me in the face, so lets eat! I had the spaghetti and meatballs and within 20 minutes of me sitting down I had a steaming plate of spaghetti on my table. The Pasta was perfectly cooked and the meatballs were delicious. Not too much sauce, just right for me, but I wanted more! My server victor, was quick and friendly with all his interactions and was no pressure during my meal.I had no problems while here and everyone em seemed to really be having a nice time. I think this is a great place to catch up with friends, go on a fun first date or just have a nice casual meal.
Walked into this place randomly after dinner around the corner and turned out to be a fantastic find. Super friendly staff including all the bartenders and the bouncer which was a most pleasant and welcome surprise considering how things can be in NYC. The music absolutely made the vibe, when we walked in a few people were sitting at tables probably finishing up dinner but pretty soon almost everyone was up and dancing. Drinks were excellent as well, one of the bartenders made a killer old fashioned! Definitely a bar worth visiting in the area

2022-04-23Surprisingly reasonably priced - large space with very courteous staff. The food was good, we particularly liked the grill cheese and soup, and their fries and pasta primavera were great too! Wish they had more draft beers. Would recommend this for a laid back hangout spot.

2022-09-07Really cool bar with lots of character to it: photos and decor are really old school. We were disappointed that there were no beers on draft or frozen drinks available. But, it happens. There were still plenty of options via cans.I ordered a salad to be made vegan, but it came out with cheese anyway. My server noticed right away and brought it back. I was really disappointed that the kitchen just picked it off the top and gave it back. I’m allergic to dairy and it was difficult to enjoy my food as I kept picking out pieces of cheddar. Not cool.

2022-06-17Belle Reve is one of the best tribeca bars. Located right next to the Roxy hotel, it has proximity to the canal St. A/C/E for the trip home and great cocktails at a good price. The interior is nicely decorated and the bartenders and staff are actually friendly and acknowledge regulars. 10/10 bar for a night out and will be back.

2022-08-01Its a specific vibe thats almost divey, almost quirky but not quite either. The kind of neighborhood place I wish I had closer to where I live. Plus they have surprisingly good food.

2019-06-23This is a bar, if you are hungry definitely dont eat here because the food is very disappointing. First of all, we waited a long time for the waitress to pick up our order, but also we then waited for what felt like ours for a couple of simple dishes. Chef s salad looked and tasted horrible and it was 18$.

2020-01-05The food was great, and the portion sizes were relatively big. We shared a seasonal Pumpkin Berry Quinoa salad, and then we had a Salmon Burger and the Impossible Burger which came with fried pickles that I’ve never tried before but it was super delicious. The place itself isn’t the most welcoming, though, there’s some room for improvement regarding thw staff’s attitude.

2022-06-07I really, really want to like this place. It has all the makings of a nice neighborhood hang--pretty good food, good drinks albeit expensive (but, sadly, normal for the area) and good atmosphere (but sometimes trying a bit hard). The biggest turnoff for me though is that they play the music unreasonably loud. Its supposed to be a cozy and intimate bar/restaurant, but its impossible to have a halfway normal conversation without screaming. I know this makes me sound old and curmudgeonly but if the music was like 2 decibels lower I really think this would be a much more pleasant place to hang out.UPDATE: Went recently and the sound was normal and you could have a nice convo! It was great.

2022-02-27All the wait staff was amazing and fun and very attentive. Bouncer yelled at me for drinking out of our own water bottle for our table. He ended up kicking me out cause said I would spread covid that way so I asked him if they washed them after they gave them to the tables and he said no. So essentially spent over $300 for our table and got kicked out for drinking our own water really aggressively by the bouncer. Staff is great bouncers are on a power trip, be wary.

2022-05-03Was acceptable for what it was. No pictures, just couldnt put my finger on the vibe but it was a Wednesday evening after happy hour if they had one. Its okay if necessary but wouldnt be my first or second choice. Visiting the city so maybe why the vibe felt disconnected and off.
