This place is my little treasure.. snuggled between restaurants parking and the small community awesome prices awesome deals great staff clean best seats always have the best movies really have nothing bad to say this place has been a staple since the day I moved into my house Ill try to get there at least twice a month absolutely love it 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
We went for a birthday party and the kids watched The Incredibles 2. The theatres are small but the seats recline which was nice. The party started 30 minutes before the movie so the kids could get their snacks and get settled and all that stuff. After the movie, which was great by the way, the kids sang happy birthday and had cake in the theatre. Pretty good time for a movie birthday party.
Absolutely awful experience every time I go there’s always a bunch of teenagers talking over the movie it’s happened 3 times now and a manager and staff needing to come in multiple times to ask them to be quiet. It’s a small theatre audio so quiet you can’t help but hear every single thing a person says during the movie and screen quality is bad. Seriously save your money/ time for a better theatre.
I take my daughter to this theater. We really like the reclining seats and 1 level theater. The seats are pretty wide and not narrow like some of the other theaters weve been to. The theater is pretty clean. They usually start on time, give and take 5 minutes on occasion.
Awesome Theater! Most Comfortable Seats! Great Price on Tuesdays as Well! I suggest people stop being scared of living and support your local businesses before we lose our simple rights while local businesses shut down!!! GET OUT OF YOUR HOUSE AND GO TO THE PLAYHOUSE!!!
This theater is my family’s go to theater. We have been going here for many years and really enjoy it. It is not a big wig company like AMC or Regal but has that mom and pop feel. They recently upgraded their chairs to the new reclinable style, and they offer various discounts on different nights of the week. They are open when many theaters have closed, and they offer a wide variety of movies and showtimes. The two times I have visited since Covid, my family has had the theater all to ourselves. it is nice but worrisome. I encourage all to go. I would hate to see such a wonderful theater no longer be around.
Favorite theater in the local area. Tickets are always much cheaper than other theaters! The playhouse also runs on a first come first serve basis (meaning you dont have to deal with the annoyance of assigned seating). The staff seems to always be friendly and since the renovation I cant see why youd go anywhere else. The seats are comfy plus there is a bar to buy drinks before the movie! Love it!
Really not bad for the price, and the Tuesday $6 deal is even better. Great sound, the seats are pretty good (despite the corny bold blue lol) though the arms dont go up. Lights came on full blast as soon as credits showed which was rough on the eyes and sucked for watching the after credits scene, but again, fair enough for the price.
The auditorium & seatings are poorly designed. Example in hall#3: 1st row (from screen) has seats that are too far to the side that it is impossible to see the screen well. The floor is almost flat (not really stadium style) making it difficult to see the screen from the last row.
The overall experience watching movie, effects, seats are all good except that to get in theater waiting in lines until you get the theater opened for you is not that comfortable. It would be better if there was a seat reservation system so you can skip waiting in lines. If this is implemented I am okay to give a 5 start. Parking you need to also prepare to do street parking and so you need to be there early to get a parking close to theater
Its a good place to watch movies.I went there to watch malayalam movies. They do have comfortable seating also all covid restrictions in place. They dont have any seating allotment as such you are free to choose where you want to sit so try to come in early if you want a central seat or a seating of your choice. Also they have some decent snacking option. For parking theres space behind the theater building or you can park on the streets.
Good theater to hold a party. This time a friend rented it for STAR WARS and. It was great. Filled the place up and reclined and enjoyed the movie. Kids were a little nuisance even mine but had a fun time.Since it was a special screening the food area was semi shut down. Could have sold me a better snack or meal if it was open.Update the food when the features hit... Otherwise we all had a fun time. Could be better.
Im gonna be honest here. The theater is mediocre at best. Mens bathroom is like a public bathhouse, everything is on display... The worst part is that the isles in the theaters are straight down the middle, that means the best seats for viewing dont exist. Find a better theater like AMC or Regal, its worth it.
The girl who believes in miracles. Tried to watch this movie today at 420pm show, first they sent us to wrong room ,then when we went in to watch the movie, there were adults talking very disrespectful during movie ,kids screaming ect,we got up and left ,we told manager and he looked at us like we were lying, we got are money back never to return to this movie theater again.
Cannot beat finding a ticket on opening night for a highly anticipated film. Theyve upgraded to include reclining seats. Although a bit run down in decor, I was pleased with my visit. Im a huge movie theater experience scrutinzer and if I could advise them, theyd soon have many solid-out nights---which may not be what theyd want. Its a neighborhood theater. The popcorn, unfortunately, was stale. The butter covered up the taste, slightly but when youd come across a stake one...ugh.
The theater was a standard decent movie theater. The bathroom was a horror movie!!! Do not use the bathroom unless have no other choice. Half the stalls dont close and were gross. I had to hold my kid over to use and no TP in any any stall! If the bathrooms are so unclean cant imagine the rest is better.
Its okay. The staff appears to always have better things to do. There is always popcorn on the floor, the garbage cans were just bought from home depot and look awful, and they dont even close the door to your movie. Just the little things that could be taken care of that could make this better.
I had a HORRIBLE experience!!! My daughter had a birthday party today and the manager was our hostess. She was sooooo incredibly rude! A few parents stayed because they’re kids were scared and she charged me an additional $50 flat parent fee. She also counted children (and tried to say I had more than I paid for which I didn’t) and threatened to charge me a cleaning fee because some popcorn was on the floor. When I disputed these charges she threatened to call the police and put my children in hysterics!!! I would NEVER have a birthday party there again!!!!!
I have to give a shout out to all who work here. We had made last minute arrangements to see a movie with about 100 children over the break. Another theatre had canceled the morning of and the Bellmore Playhouse was able to accommodate our entire group. Please patronize this place as I can assure you, you will not be disappointed. Thanks again to all the wonderful staff.
Nice theatre.Same rates as everyone else.Parking nearby. It costs pennies to sell popcorn. Why so expensive to buyPrices at counter for snacks are insane...but its the same thing everywhere. You are not allowed to bring in your own food, but people sneak it in amyway. No one has been arrested for doing that.Yet...
The theatres are disgusting as well as the lobby. The place is being run by a bunch of kids with no management around . Since it was sold years back its been a steady decline. Just this past weekend, a movie was supposed to start at 730, we werent allowed in until 745. They didnt put the lights on and previews had Already started. Theatre itself was filthy even tho the supposed delay was bc they were cleaning. Such a shame a neighborhood place has gone so down hill
My sons had their 13th Birthday movie party here. Everyone had the best time and the staff took care of everything. We provided our own snacks and birthday cake but they do give popcorn, soda, fruit punch as part of the package.1st time at Bellemore Playhouse and we will definitely return. Very clean but as movie theatres go the snacks are to expensive.I hope they install the reclining seats soon.
Everytime I visit from Florida I go to this movie theater. The place is always clean the staff is amazing and very friendly. The last three times I visited I had the pleasure of meeting a young man by the name of Steven. Works diligently to make sure the patrons are satisfied and hes always greeting everyone with a smile.
We regularly have our grandchildrens birthday parties at The Bellmore Playhouse. The kids and their adults are treated wonderfully by an incredibly accommodating staff and get to see a first run film as well. The Playhouse is always clean and comfortable and the kids always have a great time. Cant recommend them highly enough!!!
I am a movie lover, & the Bellmore playhouse has the goods, all theatershave individual recliner chairs, the place has a party room with a liquor license.you can have a party there before the movie. Ithink its one of the theatres with while remodeling & its still a good bargain on the designated days/times, & it mostly has very up to date movies showing. .A-¥¥¥¥¥ for me.
Came here again for the first time in years. It was great then and is still good now. The people were friendly, no issues with the movie quality. Seats were pretty comfortable. Thursdays are seniors day. Great for seniors but terrible for many others. Just keep that in mind when going.
The whole theatre right as you enter has an especially unkempt look to it. Floors had too much popcorn remains, more than you would expect. These were just my first impressions, so I gave them a benefit of the doubt because their staff was very helpful (well initially they were but Ill touch on that in a bit).I got my tickets with my friends and we walked into our theatre. And it hit me. The smell of eagle piss. Its as though they make no attempt to clean the theatre. The low ceiling made me feel claustrophobic. To add to that, the lights were on at full during the previews and only just turned off before the movie actually started. I was trying to find some place to sit comfortably, but the lights were all too distracting and bright I was shielding my eyes like I was outside on a sunny day.Another great annoyance was my seats cupholders. They couldnt hold my own drink because the drink was too big for the cup holder - and this was a drink the theatre provided, mind you! My snacks couldnt fit in the cup holder either because there was a huge hole on the bottom of the cup holder for it to fall through. So those were put on the dirty floor or between my legs. This is a minor detail, but you never really consider how much of a hassle it is to have such poorly designed cup holders, not that you should have to worry about it.When our movie started, there were certain heights during it that were so loud I had to cover my ears. I was forced to ask at the counter but nothing was done. I was nearly tempted to ask for a refund but I truly wanted to get out as soon as I could and take a shower. So was it really that bad? As nice as the staff was, the theatre was not kempt, the sound was literally painful at times, poor management. Bellmore Playhouse simply doesnt meet my standards but thats just me. I rarely go out to theatres and this wasnt a good experience.
Bellmore Playhouse has always been a just alright theater with bad pricing and unhappy employees. Not only has that not really changed for the better, but the decor is still pretty abysmal. If Im going to spend the money to see a movie, Id much prefer going to a larger theater that treats customers better and is nicer in general.
This place is dated and falling apart. All the other theaters in the area were renovated years ago to have nice new seating, but Bellmore Playhouse has stayed the same. The prices are a bit cheaper here, but Id rather pay an extra buck or two to watch a movie in a newer and cleaner theater.
Came here to watch the new Dragon Ball Super: Broly Movie. I bought tickets for my friends since they were late but there is no option to save seats and we ended up being apart from each other and one of my friends didnt even need to show the security a ticket to get into the movie room. Although I had a great time I wish they had more rooms for that movie or even the option to choose seats.
Love this theatre, but...I hope it stays the way it is. I dont want to see it turned into some ridiculous, $15-ticket, dine-in, 3.0 Megaplex, but it needs a SERIOUS cleaning. I heard its not cleaned between screenings, but it looks and feels like it doesnt get cleaned between days or more.
This used to be my go to theater, but lately its fallen into disrepair. Theyve been showing new reclining seats coming for at least 6 months. The prices at the snack bar are outrageous -- ($6 for a small fountain soda????? Really???) Its no wonder people just sneak their own foods in. The bathroom was an absolute disgrace on my last two visits. The stall locks dont work, just plain disgusting. Ill be going somewhere else from now on.
Very reasonably priced entry fee, snacks are somewhat overpriced, the newly added recliner seats make it convenient for me because I live somewhat near the playhouse and it saves me the trip to Levittown, and overall, a very well-maintained establishment. 9/10 in total.
What a dump. This place is run by kids, for kids. Several of us left, got our money back and went to another theater after finding our theater in the Playhouse to be smelly and garbage ridden. This place is likely infested with roaches, rodents and who knows what, given all the popcorn and spilt coke on the floor....disgusting. I cant see any reasonable adult sitting there in that mess for a 2 hour-long film.
I’m frustrated because I saw the 6:00 show for “Welcome to Marwen” tonight, and there were a bunch of kids running in and out of the theater, made so much noise during the entire movie, and none of the staff did anything about it. I will never come back to the theater.
I will never come to this theatre again. The movie starts at 10p, we get there at 10 and the theatre is a complete mess, popcorn everywhere. I’m guessing someone complained because they came in 5 min after and started cleaning. The 10pm movie started at 1040pm!!!! Everyone in the theatre was annoyed. Never again!!!!
Is it the overwhelming smell of cleaning products or the so obviously out of date decor and theater systems that put a bad taste in youre mouth within the first five seconds of walking into the playhouse? Honestly, I dont know. However, the staff is excellently trained and lovely to deal with.
PRIVATE PARTY...great place for a kids birthday party....kids and parents(parents invited with the kids..who else is going to watch all these 4 year olds) both loved...host parents have to do very little ..watched Frozen 2...popcorn, soda, & pizza served by theatre personnel during the movie , & cupcakes after show.Host arranges for pizzA delivery to theatre ( umbertos near by) and host supplied cupcakes.theater supplied drinks, plates, napkins & plenty of Popcorn at start of movie.PS..there were 2 other theaters doing same in the building.
My husband and i went to see a horror móvie, and the last 20 minutes, at the most suspenceful part, the patrons could not Heard the móvie due to the noise Right outside from kids running, jumping, and yelling! Another patrón and i asked the female is her there to pléase keep then in líne. She said it was a party! They need to keep the childrens party groups in the lobby or the lo unge until their venue is ready. Everyone in the theater has the right to expect their theater experiencia to be enjoyable and uninterrupted.
Went there three times. They changed the times of the movie without updating their website (Sing and I belive Rouge 1) and tonight we went again to give them another chance and they have Lego Batman advertised all over but when we got to the ticket booth they told us that something wont with the film and they are no longer playing it (again without updating their website). All the times awful customer service, (basically telling us oh well as my kids responded with disappointment). I will not go back there.
WOW! I do not even know where to start with this review........I was just at this establishment for my daughters Girl Scout event to see the Troll movie. I have never seen anything so unorganized in my life! After waiting over an hour for the movie to begin, people still did not have their popcorn and beverage. They even paused the movie so everyone could get their food! Really!? You have 300 children in the theater who have been waiting over an hour for the movie to begin. THEN they play the movie for 5 minutes when it was decided to pause the movie for 20 more minutes! Parents were standing on a line for at least a half hour waiting for popcorn to get popped and beverages to be served.Next note.....the bathrooms!!! They were absolutely disgusting! Toilet paper was everywhere sticking to peoples shoes, no hand soap, no paper towels, garbage overflowing, smelled like it hasnt been cleaned or disinfected ever! That is just an absolute disgrace, aside from assuming that employees must use the same facility so they arent washing their hands and ARE HANDLING FOOD AND DRINKS! YOU SHOULD BE EMBARRASSED! THANK YOU RUINING A FUN GIRL SCOUT EVENT!I am 100% positive that I will not be the only parent complaining about this clown show!Oh and GREAT MANAGER YOU HAVE THERE! I ALONG WITH MY ENTIRE TROOP WILL NEVER RETURN TO THIS ESTABLISHMENT. I COULDNT WAIT TO GET THE HECK OUT OF THERE AND DISINFECT MYSELF AND MY DAUGHTER!VERY, VERY SAD...........PS THE ONLY REASON I GAVE ONE STAR IS BECAUSE I HAD TO. THIS WAS THE ONLY WAY TO EVEN POST THIS REVIEW! THIS ESTABLISHMENT DESERVES NO STARS!!!!

2022-07-10One of the most unorganized and unprofessional theaters I’ve ever been to. Will not be coming back again and highly urge to go to a different theater. I felt like I was in school again with staff members going On power trips and yelling at complete adults over “lobby volume” and making people line up in lines against the wall to wait for entry for theaters even with less then 5 minutes before the movie is supposed to start. The theatre seats were all wet from cleaning but only In one small spot on the seat. The theatre screen was also very small and off centered from the audience and seats.

2022-06-14Great local movie theater, small place that’s fun to go to with friends or by yourself. snacks are expensive as expected so i recommend buying some beforehand from 711 or the dollar store first lol. tickets aren’t crazy expensive, especially if you go during a deal night or a matinee

2022-04-11Nice independent venue with a serious problem. Compared to the big guns in the area ( AMC, Showcase, Regal) Bellmore playhouse packs a punch both for wallet savings and movie viewing comfort. At just over $10 for prime time viewing the theatre is a bargain compared to those competitors in todays climate ( others at $15 a pop or MORE!) considering the similarities with some downgrades as a result1. Reclinable seatsthese are often seen at most theaters res except for the ones that have not been renovated since movie chains started the transition in the mid 2000s . Bellmores are not as comfy, spacious, or have some of the bells and whistles ( heated and cooling seats) but they do provide the basic comforts a reclinable provides2. The screens for viewing are smaller here and definitely look elsewhere if the best viewing experience possible is what you seek3. The concessions were standard fare however the popcorn was much saltier than I am accustomed to. It was fine for the first couple handfuls but I began to wonder if this was intentionally trying to have me leave and purchase another beverage as Bellmore does not have self serving machines like AMC4. No bar ( looking for alcohol?) look elsewhere5. I feel for the janitorial staff in this place. It was trashed after my showing. Heck it was messy and sticky when I sat down. I only saw 1 maybe 2 people come to clean so hey maybe its just they dont clean6. It was like a jungle in there with teenagers talking loudly, texting, and coming in and out frequently. They eventually were thrown out ( almost 20 kids) 3/4ths thru the movie. Ive never had an experience like that before even in a packed theatre like mine was that simply ruined the experience for me .Did I enjoy supporting the local guy and saving a few bucks? YES. Will I become a regular? NO. Come during an empty time or for an older movie but stick to the big guns for new flashy releases.

2022-06-15I had taken my parents out for a movie tonight and it just happened to be a Tuesday so good for me everyones tickets are only $6 each where every other theater like amc or the raceways… are about $17-$18 at night at best $11.50… but apparently here every Tuesday all tickets are $6 ea and every Thursday seniors are $5 ea & $11 for reg admission, still better then most theaters… sure the recliners aren’t as big or comfortable, but they do recline… the theaters are much smaller but it does have a tiny stadium effect where ur not exactly behind the row in front but slightly higher up so that’s a plus… the food isn’t as fresh, or not nearly as close to the gourmet of the amc dine in theaters, but hey your here to see a movie not eat dinner!! I gave this theater the rating of 4 out of 5 bc of the minor lil things like that but overall it was a good experience and I will definitely be coming back again with my parents who don’t mind the tiny bit of lower quality luxury unlike my teenager or even my toddler who prefer the big catnapper recliners and the soda machines that have 26738 different flavors of soda in it, in fact my parents prefer to save the extra few dollars each…that’s just their generation… but yeah I liked the old schoolness of this theater it brought me back to my childhood movie theater days with a few upgrades which my kids would describe as downgrades again generational difference… BUT THE PPL BEHIND THE REFRESHMENT COUNTER SUPER FRIENDLY, great big smiles…. Sometimes that makes all the experience one needs!!! Kudos to the kids working today!! You guys were great!!

2022-06-30Only place I know that doesnt discount seniors everyday. Seating is terrible, whomever designed it didnt think of graduating the rows so people in back can see screen without being uncomfortable

2021-12-27Small, but decent venue with a good movie selection. Could stand a thorough deep clean with the recliner seating (food in crevasses) but I travel with Clorox wipes. Overall, I would visit again!
