Dr Metzger is a gem of a Doctor. He is extremely knowledgeable with impeccable credentials and his bedside manner invariably shows compassion and a genuine interest for his patients.
I do a lot of research before choosing a doctor, so I knew Dr. Metzger was well-regarded by peers and patients. Now I see why. Hes a real partner in good health: smart, responsive and accessible. Highly recommended.
I was stunned to read these nasty reviews. Dr. Metzgers office staff is top notch, on the ball and ready to help you with your health needs. Dr. Metzger is a wonderful doctor, kind and always ready to listen. He found a kidney problem I didnt know I had and is treating it accordingly. You cant do better than this office.

2022-06-21I am going to be 65 years young in two months. I have been a regular patient of Dr. Metzger for over ten years. I never write reviews but he deserves it more than anyone I know. If I did not know how young he is I would aware he was from the 20th century where your doctor came to your home and had a fabulous bedside manor. He is always there for myself and my husband Daniel anytime of the day or night 365 days a year. There will never be a more professional and caring doctor than him. Thank you Dr. Metzger for everything you do for us!Sincerely,Hilary

2022-05-09Dr. Metzger is a gentleman though I have not met him as a doctor in person yet due to the pandemic. Hes kind and is willing to help his patients would recommend him. 5STAR.Lori and Theresa are both amazing, helpful, souls who create a calming effect after dealing with the below 1 star system.On the other hand, A negative 1 star note, the 3rd party call center is terrible. Messages are not routed to the appropriate party. Poor in return calls, poor in handling urgent care issues, such as insurance issues. You have to make multiple calls to his office in order to get anything rectified. By then its too late with time lapse. Whoever is answering the calls, before rerouting needs a personality check-up. Too many robots in the industries and no one needs them when have to deal with a doctor that you would like to keep in the system.

2021-07-23I see Dr. Metzger in his capacity as an internist. In my opinion, he is a first class clinician. In addition, his office staff is also first class. In the remainder of this brief exposition, I highlight certain of the reasons for why I believe my opening sentence is accurate.Dr. Metzger is an excellent listener; and an important point being that he doesnt give the impression that he is in some sort of a mad dash to see the next patent. Alternatively, his patience showed me that he cared about what I had to say. He has consistently maintained this approach before, and after follow up visits., He is also a good listener during exams.. The Metzger Approach also showed me that he hadnt decided a priori what condition, if any, my condition was in... i.e. he was in no rush to resort to prescription pharmaceuticals.The most telling example of his skill as a clinician was his conclusion that I neednt wait for the results of a stress test prior to taking my secondi dose of Moderna vaccine for covid-19.Bruce GreenfieldNew York CityJuly 21, 2021.

2021-07-01Go here if you want to spend every lunch for a week on the phone with billing offices, insurance claims offices, and collections agency offices all because your doctor of 12 years sent the claim for your annual check-up to insurance about 9 months too late, and then when he was told he missed the claim filing deadline, decided to multiply the bill by three and refer it to a collections agency. Wow. What a week its been for me. Thank you Dr. Metzger. Thank you Teri, his receptionist. Thank you to his billing people. Ive loved spending my lunches on hold and going back and forth with billing departments. its been so fun. And best of all...because teri wouldnt put me through to discuss the matter with the doctor person to person and nobody from his office would call me back..it looks like this saga will continue.

2019-11-08I have been a patient of Dr. Metzger for several years now. I like his bedside manner, his knowledge and interest in my health complains. He is very respectful to his patients and is never condescending like some other physicians I have seen. Now my son is also his patient.

2018-06-11Dr. Metzger has an easygoing, genial manner. He is very easy to talk to and isnt one of those brash know-it-all doctors. He will listen to you and work with you. He is also good at following up. Hes my favorite doctor of any that Ive seen in the New York City area, specialist or otherwise.

2019-12-10Dr. Metzger has a charismatic personality no doubt about it, but as a Doctor is quiet different. I develop an urine infection; I spoke with one of his staff and he didn’t return my call. The same happened when I had Bronquitis. I couldn’t see or spoke to him. I always ended going to emergency care. I mentioned him about the non-eggs flu vaccine because of my allergy, and he said that he didn’t know about it and I should request to my oncologist. As a result, I decided to look for a reliable and knowledgeable doctor.

2020-11-0910/8 had my physical done by doc Metzger vitals taken by his MA Melissa... He was really nice and patient and thorough even with me being a new patient I tried to explain much as my medical background to him as I could.. they persuaded me to get my flu shot I said no at first because of the pandemic I normally get it every year before the end of October but I ended up getting it I told Dr Metzger I wanted him to give it to me LOL... And he didnt hesitate...♥️🙏🏽 and I didnt feel bad about it... even decided to get BW done for the COV-19 ANTIBODIES test... thank God no EXPOSURE 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🧘🤞🏽... negative... plan to get test again before the year is out... no later than first year of 2021. Over all Dr. Metzger was good.. Ill be back if needed. Excellent care. He made that good impression on me. Definitely thankful for him. His response time as well too he responds when he cans course doctors are always busy...💯💯💯💯 God bless you Dr Metzger and your team!!

2016-08-01Its rare to find a doctor that genuinely takes the time to sit and listen to your concerns. Dr. Metzger makes you involved in your health, he educates you and provides several options for you and allows you to decide what you feel would be best. He always sees me on time and I never feel rushed in my appointment hes extremely kind and very knowledgeable. he personally calls you if you are illafter office hours. I highly recommend him, I promise once you meet him youll never want to go elsewhere.

2017-05-25Dr. Metzger is one of the best doctors that I have seen in NYC. He is professional, kind, knowledgeable and takes the time to answer any questions that you have. He also follows up quickly with emails and phone calls. Id highly recommend him.
