Fantastic place. Good wine, great service, awesome views! This was a busy happenin place when we visited. We had reservations and were shown to our table with a great view. Our table was uneven(on a slight hill) and they happily let us move to another open table. My wife enjoyed the wine, I enjoyed a pizza.Maybe bring cash for food(ATM has $4 surcharge) and expect a line at the bathroom if theyre busy.
Visiting from Buffalo and went here with a group of my friends. Amy was an absolute gem and had the best recommendations! The wine list is extensive and the food was the perfect pairing. I even signed up for the wine club with Amys recommendation. Even though Im not local, I can still get their wines sent to me!The scenery is absolutely breathtaking and I cannot wait to visit again next time Im in town!
This place has one of the best views! The grounds are beautiful as well. Excellent service. The gals working here were fantastic. The wines were great. They give you very generous pour for tastings. You can purchase food (cash only). I would love to return again and again!
This was such a nice winery! Everyone was so nice and have A+ customer service. Very knowledgeable staff and friendly. The environment was fun and relaxing. Loved the view (even on a cloudy day). Wine was delicious! This will be my go to place now to try different things. Tip: bring some cash for food as this will be seperate from your wine selection.
An absolutely beautiful and scenic winery!!! Abundant amount of outdoor seating. Service was fantastic! Wines were very good! I had the reds; my wife had the whites. The Semi-Dry Riesling and the Merlot were our favorites. There is food available from a separate vendor on site. We had the charcuterie board with meat and it was fantastic. Highly recommend checking out this winery on your way through the area.
Was a great day place aways safe neat and clean, the team always works hard to make you feel Ike family, had a great bite to eat then finished it of with more wine and food at the food pit,the calamari Was great and the cheese platter was delicious, and of course the wine like no other....no mass produced like many other winerys. Whats nice also is the fresh pizza made to order in their famous brick oven pizza 🍕 oven the taste is unreal cant wait to get back there next week come as a friend leave as family
Lovely wine flight of 4 wines for $20. I loved that it was choose your own tasting experience. The pours are half glass which allows you to get a full taste of the flavors. The food is ordered separately from the wine tasting. Pizza pie with 8 slices was $18. I wish the food could be ordered with the wine tasting.
Went here on a random trip after picking strawberries. We didnt know reservations are required but the hostess sat us anyways on the lawn overlooking the valley. (Note: please make reservations before going). They give you 4 different wines to sample at $15 per person aka flights. The pizzas there are a must try. Fresh oven baked and soft and delicious. The grounds and surrounding area is very beautiful. A large tent provides shelter from bad weather or for celebration venues. You can also purchase bottles but only to go. A definite place to revisit.
This winery has it all! It posseses a delicious and excellent selection of wines. The atmosphere and ambience is wonderful, being places on a mountain where you can see for miles while sipping wine with friends and family. The food is delicious with their brick oven pizza with various fresh and delicious toppings! A must visit for anyone who enjoys wine, a great view, and amazing food!
I absolutely LOVE Benmarl. I have always found the staff personable and I think the wines are better than some of the other local wineries. Im confused by people being upset about the 1hr 15 min reservation time. It clearly states it on their reservation page...which you must you to make a reservation. I dont think its fair to rate a business poorly because you overlooked that detail on the webpage when you made the reservation. The views are AMAZING and I highly recommend it.
It was the most inhospitable experience! They wanted to kick us out after 75 minutes while we had our food and wine ordered. The waitress didnt belong in the hospitality industry. Just there to make a living. The general manager had only the title not the skills associated with any kind of managing. And the owner came to be the icing on the cake and when me as a guest told him this is not hospitality. You are all about numbers the only thing his intelligence and education allowed to reply was you are all about numbers. Wines are drinkable but dont open a hospitality establishment just to make some extra cash. Ruined a birthday party of 12 30+ people who could refer this place to many more people. So, just because rain was coming and he wanted to accommodate all the people who had booked outdoors he preferred to kick out our group that was under the tent. The place was pretty but not well maintained and policed. The Vines could be counted in 5 seconds. Most grapes bought probably.
One of the most lovely wineries in the Hudson Valley only one hour from Manhattan. The view from the wide terrace is no less than breathtaking. The wines are young and fresh and from the pizza oven you can get avery tasty pizzas that add to the pleasant experience at the winery .It is highly recommended for a relax escape from the noisy.
Wonderful Winery. We have our favorite wines in their listing, but every wine is wonderful. The staff is warm and inviting, and is ready to assist with you on any questions you may have on their offerings. And the view! Seated on a easterly facing hill, you overlook the Hudson river, watching the metro-north and Amtrak trains ride up and down the east side of the river. As well as the boats in the summer and the fall foliage. Do yourself a favor and have a tasting, youll be glad you did.
I have been to this establishment for my second time on Sunday 19th, 2021. This time around I brought my sisters, and they had a fantastic time. The weather was just right, and the views was Ah-mazing. The server Sarah, was very informative of the wine selection we tasted, very friendly, and very outgoing. The pizza we ordered was delish🙂👌 I will most definitely recommend your place of business! Thank you!
Every year we visit Benmarl and every year it is great. Beautiful setting, good wine, and a good wait staff. Shout out to Crystal - our waitress - she was attentive and made good recommendations. We walked out with 2 bottles- like the Billy Joel song- a bottle of red and a bottle white. Malbec sparkling and Reisling semi-dry- excellent!!! Our 2 pups had a good time as well. Thank you for being dog friendly.
The wine was good. Nice ambience. We went there for mothers day. I was turned off by the following:1. The server never bothered to check on us after shed served the initial order2. We had a 75 min limit on our reservation. Before the 75 mins were over, it started raining, so we moved to a shaded table. We ordered a couple more glasses. We were reminded (pretty rudely) a couple of times that we needed to vacate the table. We left right away after the second reminder. We hung out in the outskirts for 30 mins after we vacated the table, but the table was still unused when we finally left. Its nice place. It immediately made us happy to have picked the place when we arrived. But it left a bad taste due to the behavior of the staff. As a paying customer, I dont want to be treated like Im trespassing. Will not recommend this place. Id go elsewhere for an enjoyable wine tasting experience.
I love this winery! The view is incredible and the wine is great. What puts it over the top is the people working here. Both times Ive been, Sam and Krystal have been our servers and they are the most pleasant, nicest people you could imagine. My roommate and I absolutely love this winery and keep coming back even though its not super close. The only negative is that Sam is a Boston Red Sox fan and knows nothing about Earth Science or moons, but hes nice enough that we can overlook that. I HIGHLY recommend this winery! 10 stars!!Update: Ive been coming here for a few months now and the winery and people have never disappointed, even though its become incredibly popular (maybe I shouldnt be telling everyone I meet about how fantastic it is). Alex and Angelo are awesome and always take the time to make you feel welcome, and we havent had a bad server yet. The food is another thing that is incredible. I feel like its somehow gotten better over the last few months. Sarah is often the one that takes our order and she is always so sweet. The pulled pork nachos are amazing and the pizza is delicious. I plan to keep coming up here even when its 20 degrees and snowing. Make sure to check out this gem - you wont be disappointed.
This place is so much fun! The wines are great, the outdoor space is wonderful, the food is well prepared, and the staff: top notch. This was out third or fourth trip (we are now Wine Club Members - ask your server, its worth it!) and that means our tastings are now complimentary. Today I had the 2018 Stainless Steel Chardonnay (terrific wine!) and the 2018 Dry Rose (also a great tasting wine).A shout-out to the two servers weve had on our two last visits: Crystal and Emily. Both had a great attitude, lots of positive energy, and really wanted to make the visit fun (and have us come back!)
What a nice night out we had! I will say that good help is hard to come by and we had the pleasure of dealing with a wonderful girl named Amy! She went above and beyond to help us choose a wine. She was so informative and asked us all the right questions to understand our pallets! Then suggested the perfect wine! She really made our experience top notch! Highly suggest requesting her!
Huge disappointment. Drove there for 2 hours so we can have a nice wine tasting experience with a view. instead we were seated in the back by the tents with a view of nothing and a bunch of crowed screaming in our ears. Called before coming there to make sure we get the table but we were told its first come first serve and don’t need a reservation. When we got there we were told the good tables are reserved. It was 4:30pm and they were closing at 6pm with 5 table available with the view, we asked again and were denied again. No one showed up with reservation so the tables with a view were empty till they closed. It was only 2 of us and we wanted to have a pleasant and quiet experience but instead it felt like a Beer Garden in Williamsburg. There is absolutely no need to drive there for 2 hours, its just not worth it.BTW - Wine is not good quality here at all and we have travelled all over Europe and did so much wine tasting. So we know how quality wine tastes like. Will not come here again !
3/10 for the wine, 10/10 for the views. 100% worth the visit for the scenery and decor alone, but bring your heart burn/acid reflux meds. We left a glass completely untouched because of the acidity and the staff just was like “oh, ok, yeah..” but didn’t seem surprised or like they cared… so, it is what it is. Still would recommend the visit!!
Went yesterday at noon-I very much appreciated the friendliness and humor of the young man who served us. He was full of positive energy! A weekday visit worked out really well, perfect weather, not crowded, and we were able to sit on the ridge facing the beautiful scenery. The pick up yourself food options, although limited, were an unexpected plus, wish they had salads but I ended up having a veggie quesadilla which was tasty, although served on a cardboard plate, which was ok as it was presented nicely. Did a tasting with 4 real wine glasses, another nice touch. I was expecting plastic with the covid restrictions. Also, they had soft music in the background and the bathrooms were clean. We were not restricted to a time limit. I will come back on another weekday for another pleasant experience. Thanks Benmarl!
The first time having NY wine it was ok. I am more into wines with a stronger taste. Not a fan that I have to go order my food go sit down and wait for the buzzer to inform me that my pizza is ready. $20.00 for a pie that is a little bigger than a bar pizza and cash only.
There are so many wineries in New York State. The lower New York can never beat the other regions like Finger lakesBut this premise,it is unique because you are on the top of the hill looking down on the Hudson Valley and Grapevines .It gave me a kind of tranquility with wines and friendship all together. You might consider to visit this place maybe once.
This place is huge. They’ve got a whole outdoor set up going on with quite the busy operation. I made a reservation online 2 weeks in advance and we sat on the deck with a great view of the mountains. The tasting was lovely. We had to order food per NY Covid rules and enjoyed the wood fired pizza they had on site. It’s cash only and delicious. Would recommend this to anyone.
Beautiful place, I went with my mom and my husband, and we enjoy everything, but the view was amazing 🤩!!! The wine 🍷 flight absolutely recommended. The pizza 🍕 delicious, one thing I would have liked to have the names of the cheeses on the board, because I liked some more than others!!!I will come back in summer ☀️
Its an okay place to begin your experience tasting wine. Its all cash, atm charges 4.50 so come prepared. Portable toilets would have been okay if they had someone keeping them clean. Tried to go inside to use the only restroom but there were about 20 people man/women already waiting. 75 min. Limit to a table would be okay if you were only planning on tasting wine and leaving. I waited almost an hour for the food. They stated you must make reservations but still allowed walk-ins. Hence they were NOT thrilled about that yet, some tables remained empty. We were almost over-charged for drinks we did not order, check you bill. Overall scenic view was beautiful, the drive was beautiful and it will definitely NOT deter me from trying other wineries. Other than the Un-welcome team that greet you, staff members were nice.
A terrible experience with all the new rules that are implemented here in the weirdest way! So we just wanted to have a good time and drink a bottle of Benmarl wine. We got here without a reservation and were set at the tent in the back of the winery (ok, understood - we didn’t have the booking). They said they’re all booked till the end of the day for nicer tables with a view on the Hudson River. However, the entire 75 min period we were given, 9 out of 13 tables just stood there empty with no reservations showing up! We asked to be seated there - no, they’re reserved for those lucky ones with an online booking! Even though it was clear that most of them are no-shows. Fine, we tried to enjoy what we’ve got under the tent. Guess what?! You can BUY a bottle of wine, but you can’t DRINK it here! Not at your table, not in the back of parking lot, not anywhere in this winery. Absurd! However, you can order indefinite amount of glasses of wine, just not a bottle. We were prepared to spend $$$ here throughout the day, but here we are getting out of here with a $25 bill. Not worth the drive!
This place is amazing! If you looking for a place with good wine and good food and good service this is your place! The view was amazing and the wine was tasty and the was great! If you’re looking for a great experience this is your place.Ask for Krystal as your waiter she is the best!We will definitely come back again! Enjoy ☺️
Absolutely amazing service!! Our server was Nicole and she was amazing but honestly we had like 4 amazing women helping our table. Honestly one of the best wine vineyards if been to in upstate NY! Wood oven pizza was delicious and wine was quality, delicious, and adorable!
It’s a beautiful winery with a great variety of red, white and rose wines. However, the service at the food stand is terrible. You get a 75 min slot with your reservation at the winery which is plenty of time to have a great tasting experience but the food stand can’t even prep a cheese platter during this time. Make sure you aren’t hungry when you arrive there.
We discovered Benmarl during the pandemic and its continued to be our favorite place. The staff is fantastic, the view is gorgeous, and the wine is phenomenal. Krystal has been our consistent server and has been beyond wonderful. Sam is great, despite his many flaws of being a Boston fan, knows nothing about earth science or moons, and questionably wears tights. Weve been to many wineries in the area and this is far and away the best. We travel 45 minutes to an hour just to come here due to the fun environment. Please have Krystal and Sam work together for our entertainment but well continue to come regardless. I highly recommend this winery for a great time, you wont be disappointed.
The place has great views. I’ve been there 2 times and I enjoyed it for the most part. The second time however we were almost KICKED OUT of the place. Nobody told us anything when we sat but at some point (1h and so after we arrived) one of the staff members came to tell us that we had to leave. That’s was so no cool! We just had ordered a pizza and another round of wine and the next thing we knew is that we had to leave. I wish they would have told us about it before. And... there was space around. So no need to kick us out! Anyway nice place, BUT it needs better staff for sure. Our server was a really nice lady though.
After we got our table we never got a waitress to take our order. They dont have enough bathrooms, If you need to use one you will be waiting for a long time. My nephew was part of the wine club. He got 4 bottles of red wine for $90. We didnt like neither one of them... they do have couple of good wines... but being part of the wine club is not worth it.
What a great experience here at Benmaryl today . Our server Sam was courteous patient and very friendly . It was our first time there since COVID struck and although we didn’t have a reservation , we were welcomed in none the less and accommodations were made easily and to our delight . We ended up meeting other customers that live in NJ from he same county as us . It was lovely . The food we were required to purchase didn’t fail either . Tasty pulled pork sliders and chicken taquitos were out of this world . Two thumbs up 👍🏻. The views are amazing too and tasty varieties of wines .
Honestly super disappointed with this place. We made a reservation for five people and we were forced to sit under a tent. We came here for the view BUT obviously we didn’t get that. The bathroom line had at least 30 people on it, so we went to the Porta potty’s that were full to the rim. Next, never get the four seasons Pizza. It is trash, it has two pieces of prosciutto and one 2 pieces with mushrooms.Honestly, As a local , this might be the worst one around. There wasn’t even live music.
This place was nice. Didnt do the tour. You need reservations and its $15.00 a person for four 2oz glasses of wine of your choice off a list they give you. If you want more then its $8 to $9 a glass extra. They have food but i dont think it was that good. You need cash. They dont except debit cards.
Great view. Nice atmosphere. Covid precautions observed. Wine tastings are customizable and glassware is used which is nice. This establishment will not allow one to purchase a bottle to enjoy at the table. Bottles are to go. You must purchase wine by the glass here... I visited 10 other vineyards this weekend and did not run into this mandate so I was not affected by this, but definitely not the destination to meet friends and spend the afternoon.
Beautiful place filled with great food and wine! Due to COVID-19 we only had 75 mins at our table which was plenty of time to eat and drink but we wish we had a little bit more time to just sit and talk. We felt rushed out of our table but we did take a cup to go and walked around the winery. It’s pretty small compared to others we have been to but very cute. The view was stunning and I definitely recommend the pizza and cheese board 👍🏼
Friendly staff, great wine, and excellent views! I’d personally recommend the Riesling and Semi Dry Riesling! It wasn’t super clear while I was there but the food is in a separate spot from where you sit for wine. You can walk over, grab snacks (+ pizza sometimes) and bring it back to your table.
Great place to spend an afternoon or early evening, with beautiful views of the Hudson Valley down below. Comfortable outdoor seating. Decent wines, especially if you stay with whites, their reds arent that great. Good selection of wood-fired pizzas, The Zambito was my favorite.
Not a pleasant experience at all! Drove there for 2 hours expecting to have a nice evening for 2 of us and instead got into a very noisy environment with lots of people shouting. The host was not responsive and did not want to accommodate even though there were 3 empty tables in a quiet section with the view. She told us that these tables are reserved and even no one showed up for it she still didn’t offer us to relocate our table. We were very disappointed to say the least. We wanted to spend $$$$ enjoy the evening at full, but ending up cutting our evening short because it was uncomfortable setting for us.They should of told us on the phone that we need to make a reservation instead they said it’s “first come first serve”.Overall this wine tasting experience was simply bad because wine ( especially red) wasn’t great at all. I would say it was pretty poor quality.
The had a special bottle being sold today so we didnt get to do any tastings but the wine we did get was delicious. They are dog friendly and the pizza is DELICIOUS!!! The bakery also sells amazing baked goods. Definitely recommend if you just want to chill, drink wine and look at the beautiful view. They also had a band especially for today. They have special festival days where they dont do tastings and have bands but they dont do them every weekend unfortunately. If you do come on a special day come early because that pizza line can get pretty long. Everyone was very knowledgeable. We will be going back!!
Scenery is beautiful, you can only have 1 flight of wines. That means you can only have 8 oz of wine. You cant buy bottles and drink at the winery. And you have to order food like pizza or cheese platter. It took 1:45 minutes for a pizza and they want to make you go after 70 minutes.
Beautiful location for a winery! I loved seeing the sheep and other animals by the parking lot. We fed them grass, and they were friendly. The tasting room is in one area, and across the pathway is a brick oven where a couple was making pizza. They also had homemade pumpkin soup, which was delicious! It was a cloudy, chilly day, so the soup was perfect. Theres a small gazebo or table and chairs where you can sit after buying a bottle of wine. The view is amazing! Its up on a hill, and you could see mountains and trees for miles. The only reason Im giving them 4 stars is because we arrived around 11:30am, and it was too busy to do a tasting. The entire bar area was full, and there were about 5 or 6 couples waiting their turn. We ended up buying a bottle of blush to enjoy with our pizza. If you want a relaxing outdoor experience, visit this winery.
This was my first time ever going to a winery and I must say that I enjoyed myself. The wine selections were awesome. The staff was very attentive to everything which is always a plus in my book.I have already told my friends about this place and I will be going back again.
Love this winery! Well need to come back when were in the area again. We were here in March but it still had impressive views. It must be amazing once all the greenery is in full bloom. There is outside seating but it was a bit chilly for that. Never fear, once you leave the tasting room there is a lot of indoor seating. Plenty of space for everyone. Our tasting was done with Laura, one of the winemakers. You can tell that she loves what she does and that made our tasting that much better. We happened to hit them during a lull, so we were also able to get a tour and see one of the vaults with lots of old bottles. The wine itself is pretty good. There is an extensive list, so you will find something you like. Plus, if you tell them what you like, theyll make recommendations. We will be back :-)
The winery is located in a very beautiful setting with decent selection of wines. They also bake fresh pizza that are pretty good. We went on a Friday afternoon and it was relatively quiet which we really enjoyed. On Saturdays and Sundays I can imagine that it would be very crowded.
Massively disappointing. During COVID, some places have chosen to do their best to make their establishment a comfortable haven during hard times. This place has done the opposite, they try to make it as uncomfortable as possible and push you out the door as quick as they can. They dont allow you to buy bottles of wine to drink on the premises, they give you a 70 minute time limit, and they force you to buy food. The food thing is apparently a new NY law, however they could have offered a very cheap food option (a bag of chips?) instead of their current menu, which is $15+ for every item on it. Id skip this place and go somewhere they actually want you.
Great Winery in the Hudson valley , Beautiful views , just visited for the first time during COVID .-19 , they keep everything very clean , definitely will return , great wine and cheese platter 🍷 You can only stay for 75 minutes, and they do enforce it ! Wish we could have stayed longer , we did drive down the road to the stout ridge winery , very pretty!
We drove 3.5 hours on a recommendation from a trusted traveler and we could not be happier with our experience! The scenery here is dramatic and peaceful. We took advantage of the brick oven pizza available on site which was very well prepared (we had the four seasons yum! We then took our pizza inside where we greatly enjoyed it with thier semi dry riesling (2018).
I feel like this place would be better without the Covid rules. But we were sat at out table without an you directions on how to get our food. We had to get up and figure it out for ourselves. And then we were told its last call before our waiter came to our table. We had a reservation for 6:30. Not a great experience.
Upon arrival, I had a most un-hospitable experience with one gentleman of the welcome team. They said I needed a reservation. I explained that the site stated walk-ins welcome. He stated that it was a lie. I was immediately thrown back by his response. I asked about the in door seating and a young woman stated it was for walk-ins. So I was????. I later understood that larger parties over 4 should reserve do to limited seating however that did not stop me from correcting the gentleman on customer service and professionalism. I notified him that the information was under the reviews section and never call a customer a lier. Make sure you look at the bill we were almost an extra 40.00. Only one official bathroom, the rest were port-a-potties that were not overseen by any staff member and were very dirty. You have a table for 75 mins. Cap, and food that we waited almost an hour for. With all that, the views were beautiful and we made the best of it by going pumpkin picking afterwards. Its all cash so make sure you come prepared, atm charges 4.50. Three stars because the rest of the staff were very nice.
My wife and I stayed at the Benmarl B&B this past weekend. Victor (the owner) and his team took great care of us from the moment we arrived. The views from the balcony in the larger B&B room were spectacular. The tasting room as always was very fun and they have a robust selection of wines. Nothing but 5 star experience here, will visit again for sure.
Beautiful location, scenic views . Order a bottle of wine and order their cheese plate and pesto pizza fresh from the outside oven. Tastings are 10$ or $12 with the glass. Will come back and brings friends. You also can bring your own snacks. The best part is that its Dog Friendly! (Nice doggies)
We just had our wedding here and they were AMAZING. They had very easy-to-follow rules (supply transportation for guests, music off by 10:30 pm at reception, caterers should remove trash). Casey was so easy to work with made planning the wedding very easy. The tent came with the fee paid for the wedding and they were very easy going with our vendors. Kathleen & Victor at the B&B took us in as their own kids and made our wedding day so magical! All of the guests also LOVED their wine!
Wonderful tasting where you are given the option of selecting ANY six wines from all of the available for purchase wines, allowing for white lovers to go heavily to throw liking and red lovers to go otherwise. Am impromptu tour was a nicely added, appreciated touch. The views are lovely and imagine that fall foliage must be breathtaking.
Ive heard good things about this place from local wine shops, so I decided to check it out. Id avoid this place if youre a fan of dry wines and/or if youre looking for a place thats not overrun with Instagrammers/the moscato crowd. The grounds are beautiful, but thats probably the only redeeming quality from my 10/18 visit. We were looking for to-go bottle sales and the blonde woman working at the pickup area (~4pm) was rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. Ive never encountered someone so unhelpful and unknowledgeable at a winery. For example, when asked about dry reds, she responded aggressively with ALL OF OUR WINES ARE DRY (spoiler: theyre not), and she simply did not want to engage (e.g., ok, well you asked me about wines, but youre here verbatim). She gradually became less aggressive once she processed that we were looking to buy a bottle. We decided to try a bottle of Cabernet Franc anyway despite the mediocre, rude experience. Youd think with an attitude like that, youd at least have good wine, but the Cabernet Franc tasted like a spoiled juice pack. Id recommend going to Fjord or Eminence Road if youre looking for a better experience. Such a shame.
The wines are OK. Some are better then others. It depends what you like. It is worth a stop. You are going to leave with at least one bottle. The views of the Hudson can’t be missed. Tables outside to sit, eat and relax. They have a bake shop. Tasting is $10 for 6. A little expensive and there is no discount when you make a purchase. If you want the glasses you have to pay another $2. Split a tasting, get a bottle, bring a snack and enjoy the view.
Benmarl Winery is by far the best winery in the Hudson Valley! Not only is the wine very good, the atmosphere is amazing, everyone is always happy and smiling, the views are incredible, overlooking the Hudson Valley, the renovations that they made are amazing, you really owe it to yourself to check it out! They have an onsite bakery and pizza oven, both of which are very good! You hace to try the pizza! We literally sat outside with friends for 4 hrs, talking and laughing over a few bottles of wine and a pizza! At the end of September they will be having free movie night, we will be there!
I Love to send my clients and guests to Benmarl Winery. The setting is gorgeous it overlooks the Hudson River. The events they create are unique, fun and full of great food and some of the best wine in the Hudson Valley. The brick oven pizza is not to be missed its fresh and delicious with ingredients fresh from their garden. They also have a lovely BandB on site with stellar views of the Hudson River. At Benmarl Winery they graciously and professionally share their beautiful bounty. You feel the family and the staff enjoy your company and that makes you feel very welcome. I think that sets the tone for a great day at Benmarl and that keeps me coming back. -Christina Powers Proprietor of Miracles Day Spa
Went for a wine tasting here in the spring. Ordered 2 cases of wine, was told they could be shipped because I was out of town. Bottles were supposed to be arriving this month, and now they tell me that they dont ship wine. So they have my $500 dollars and expect me to drive 4 hours to go pick up. What a crock. DONT GO HERE IF YOURE FROM OUT OF TOWN
I took my husband to Benmarl Winery for his birthday. We had a wonderful time on the beautiful grounds. We tasted several delicious wines (I particularly liked the Semi-Sweet Riesling) and took home a variety of bottles. Hats off to Angelo who made our first-time experience one to remember! I’ve already spread the word and intend to come back!
Its a shame that the Toilets are potty Johnny dirtyDiscuss. The management or the owners should do better. Sad to say it seems they dont care about their patron s. Pizza toooooooooo small. For the price. And no one is told that you have a table for 75mins. Sad get it together mr Owner
Victor and his crew are awesome. Thoughtful and as accommodating as one could imagine for the bride and groom. Beautiful setting, great food, wine and the sangria!!!! Benmarl works so hard to make their customers happy. We are locals surrounded by beautiful wineries, but Benmarl was our choice. Theyve made new fans of each and every guest! Thank you so much! Warmly, Bob and Laura
We attended the Hudson Valley Seafood Festival and couldnt decide between 2 and 3 stars. We got there at 1pm, and waited 20 minutes to park in a mostly full lot. My wife then waited nearly an hour standing in a very hot tent for her fried seafood, while I got the vegan gumbo, ate it, and was on my 3rd beer while she waited. The calamari was a little greasy and wasnt served with the pesto condiment as advertised. The shrimp were excellent, but the clam fritters sadly lacked clams. We paid $44 for two tickets - plus food - so if you backed out the 2 drinks that came with the tickets we paid the winery $30 to host the event. There were no defined lines for the different food stations, and the waits, in a big tent with no air, were excessive. We decided it wasnt an event wed attend again due to the lack of organization.
Poor service! Our server only came to us once. We had to ask another server to order another drinks. He claimed my glass was full that’s why he didn’t come to our table. He claimed he was in our table 15 minutes ago which it wasn’t true. Also, the server claimed you need to make an eye contact to him to ask for water. Like really? Who does that? Haha! He offered other tables water and he skipped us. Just because we are the only asians there? Hmnmm. Probably.
Had a nice time at Benmarl, stopped by at the end of the day on a beautiful sunday a few weeks ago. Did the wine tasting and brought home a Cabernet Franc and their Seyval. Both delicious ,my family enjoyed both wines and Im looking forward to going back to spend more time and pick up some more of each . I didnt know about their wine club when we were there but a friend of mine was there yesterday and joined , I plan on joining as well. We were chatting with the owners as they were closing dowm the outside pizza area, they were very nice and told us a bit of history about the place and encouraged us to come to one of their festivals which I definitely will look forward to in the future.
A nice property in a rural area, with room to host an event. The main building has a tasting room and sales room (right and left, respectively). The tasting bar has a nice lookout window behind the bartender. The tasting was kind of pricey ($8 for 6 samples, $10 if you want to keep the glass), but the wines were good.
My family and some friends attended the Pig Roast BBQ last week. 40.00 per person with Fireworks, or so thats what the ad said on their website. Well, 40.00 is just robbing people. Want to talk about stingy?? They marked your bracelet to assure you dont get seconds. They put hardly ANY FOOD in the dish (a small paper dish) and forget about the skimpiness on meat, we are talking 1 rib, 1 sliver of pig and about 1 table spoon of each side. And the 40.00 only includes a soda or water. This meal was worth a fraction of the cost. Then, to advertise fireworks in the Hudson valley? Yes, your on their mountain with a great view but the fireworks are from all the towns below you and you could hardly see anything!! You needed binoculars to see them! The point is, these people that run this place lost my business and I used to go there...and like it. They took advantage of ALOT OF PEOPLE with this event. Horrible way to do business and dishonest. The group I was with will never go here again either.
Benmarl was a lovely Saturday afternoon daytrip from NYC. We could bring our dog, and my fiancé and I had a great time tasting with Laura before buying a bottle and a delicious pizza to enjoy on the lawn overlooking the valley. Laura was wonderful; would definitely recommend Benmarl if you are in the Hudson Valley area!
Went on the most beautiful fall day so that def made the experience that must better. Even though dealing with Covid restrictions that staff was very attentive and we had a wonderful time. Many of the wines were fantastic, some just ok for my taste but find one you love and order another glass, a very good variety of dry, semi and sweet options, white, reds and blushes. Great stop while taking a drive to see the fall foliage.
Today 3/21/16 4 friends from Vermont and myself went to Benmarl winery for a tasting. I did my homework on Facebook and google and they both said that Benmarl was open.(i know now to always check the company website ) When i was pulling up to the winery i herd a four wheeler pull up next to me. It was younger boy that I saw taking care of animals when we pulled up the driveway. He informed us that only himself and a couple of men that were working in the vineyard were there and none of them can give us a tasting. He asked us if the sign at the bottom of the driveway said closed but i was not sure. So he apologized to us and told us the correct business hours (12 until 5 Friday-Sunday until April then they are open all week 12-6). He followed us down the driveway and saw the sign did in fact say closed But nothing was blocking airheads like me from driving up the driveway. he apologized again when i told him There should be something there blocking us from driving up the driveway like a chain or a gate (i would say a traffic cone but it would look ugly and be an eye sour) There is a gate there why not close it? The only reason i am giving this winery 3 stars is because of how apologetic, Kind and knowledgeable the young man was and the view from the outside of the winery was amazing. I just hope that next month when i come for a tasting the wine is worth it and i get to meet the young boy again so i can see the winery animals. He told me some cool info about the animals when i tried to make a conversation with him. I tried to find a picture of him on your Facebook or website so can give credit where it is due but i cant seem to find one. He told me his name but i dont remember. I believe it started with an A. but i am not sure.
Horrible service from Micheal the manager, I’ve asked several times for my wine club to be canceled and took almost a year to have it canceled and it took over 2 months to have an email returned. When I called to inquire about a charge I was quickly rushed off the phone

2022-04-25Love the atmosphere, especially the view of the mountains and the Hudson River. Customer service was excellent. The only thing I didnt like is that you have to go order food and pick up yourself. It would be really nice if you can order everything from your table. The wines were really good.

2022-03-06This is the best winery you’ll find in the Hudson Valley!! My husband and I used to go as it was about an hour from our house and super-reasonable from a distance perspective. What we never expected was to fall in love with the scenery, people and the wines!! Usually you get a great view, or great wines, but not both. Benmarl has 🌟everything🌟 Literally. We go back every few months and are wine club members. Don’t think twice, just go to Benmarl.

2022-03-21Wine and pizza are great. Nice views for photos and staff are always friendly. Only a couple of bathrooms so the line can sometimes get long. Also no more dogs allowed so weve gone a lot less. Waiting for the day they reverse that decision.

2022-04-09Made a reservation ahead of time for my sisters bachelorette party. Upon arriving they told us we had to wait outside in the cold and rain because they didn’t have room for us. We went in to use the bathroom and there was plenty of room. They were incredibly rude and made us feel unwelcome. Will not be coming back.

2022-05-31Good views & service however, you cannot buy a bottle and drink it on their premises. You can only buy wine in a glass. You cannot bring your own food either. You have to show your ID on entrance.

2022-06-27Two stars for the views. We had a horrible experience yesterday at this place. The staff were rude. As a party of five we were sitting in a tent with absolutely no views. They told us that the tables on the lawn are for 4 people or less. They also gave us no information on wines - a lady just filled our glasses and left

2022-06-26I arrived at my schedule reservation at 3PM however all the umbrella seating was occupied. My hostess informed me that if someone were to get up that I can be moved to the umbrella seating. 10 mins later I was told they would not be able to be moved because ...we have so many reservations and this is our policy and went over why its difficult for the staff to move people when there are so many reservations. 15 mins later I noticed a couple move from their table in the sun to an umbrella table. I spoke to my waitress and asked if you are enforcing a policy why are you not enforcing it with the couple that just moved. I was given the answer Im so sorry they complained to my manager and thats why we moved them. I then responded I need to escalate this to your manager in order to move my table? She said yes, Ill get my manager. The manager never came and my table was moved to the umbrella table. At the 1.5 hour marker I was reminded AGAIN We have so many reservations and we will need this table. I was told that I would need to get up in a couple of minutes to which I said how many minutes is a couple? she then replied 10 - 15 mins where I stated in 30 mins if you need the table I would move. She never came back again. I spent 30 mins of my time argue with a staff that seemed very insistent to inform your customers rules and policies but did absolutely nothing to enforce them and continue to harass myself and guest. Yes I consider this harassment because there is no reason I need to remind and hold your staff accountable to their words. After all this, your staff needed to remind me Im on the clock and when your staff made an extraordinary effort to use my time and to get me out of my seat. For the record, i was trying to be mindful with your staff that when your CRAZY AMOUNT of reservations were coming in that I would leave. From what I observed, your foot traffic did not warrant any of these discussions with your customers and this level of service does not warrant horrible, its far worse and a disaster. No matter how hard I tried to enjoy my day, your staff found new ways to ruin it.
