Ive never really been pleased here for anything other than drinks, yet I keep going back out of convenience. I will say, the bar staff seem friendly enough, if not always well-trained on drinks (didnt realize a vodka martini was so complicated). Best to get beer, only, and maybe some wings to eat in house. Their menu never really came back from its pre-COVID selection. I prefer going to their sister bar down the road, the Mill at Round Lake. Talk about a completely different experience (including take-out).
Went for my moms birthday around 7pm, it was the second time for me here. Very nice and attentive servers. Wings were great too. The pear drink on the specialty cocktail menu was really good, got it on the servers recommendation that it was perfect for a hot day or night. Of course I wanted dessert, so I ordered the brownie sundae. The brownie was definitely a bit dry but when smothering it in ice cream it wasnt noticeable.
Its a nice place but the prices are way too high. 2 burgers and fries with 2 Cokes....$38 before tip! Nothing special either. Small burger and small portion of fries (which are some sort of seasoned fries I guess...didnt really know what to call them). Asked for medium well burger because I dont really like to see any pink inside ground beef and it came out cooked well in the inside, but the outside was all charred. Tasted awful. Wings are also incredibly expensive as I had these last time. They average wings at above average prices. I will come back because we do like the bar and the people....Ill just stick to the over priced drinks and skip the over priced food. Also....the menu is rather unimaginative.
Very disappointed. I was craving wings and thought this was the best place to go... they were horrible. I asked for extra crispy. They came out just cooked. YUCK... so I mentioned it to the waiter. He put in another order of extra crispy. I figured they would come out over cooked. I was wrong... they came out cooked exactly the same as the first order. They took them off the bill.. I didnt complain about the nachos or tater tots but if Im being honest the only thing that was good was the beer....so for $40 it was a very disappointing visit. Not going back anytime soon...and this was always a great place for wings. .
Bentleys is known for their wings, so I picked there for my Fathers Day dinner. So disappointing. We had a server who doesnt write down the orders, which is fine if they remember everything. I ordered chicken wings- extra hot and extra saucy. What came for me was boneless wings with little sauce. I was hungry so I accepted the plate thinking theyd be fine. My mistake. They were rubbery, and had almost no sauce. What was there tasted good but was medium at best. I asked for more sauce and was given a cup of Franks which was not the same as what was on the tenders. While the rest of the family enjoyed their stuff it was my night, and my meal was a trainwreck, so this review is based solely on that.
The wings were ice cold. Fully cooked, but ice cold which leads me to believe they cook them ahead of time and refrigerate them for who knows how long and clearly dont reheat them well. Our server said she would notify the manager but a manager never visited our table so who knows what that even means. I have been visiting this trio of restaurants for a decade or longer but I Will NOT go back to Bentlys thats for sure.
The food was great! I would rate a 5 star but we sat at the bar for a while with no acknowledgement before we politely asked for drinks and menus. We got the drinks but no menus. We had to ask again for menus. Im OK if people are busy but just communicate and notice that your customers are sitting at the bar.
Expensive - $42 for lunch for 2 - burger & chicken sandwich and 2 sodas. Limited menu. Youre supporting a local business which is good. Burger was a little disappointing - cooked way more than the medium I ordered and tasted like a frozen burger (too perfectly formed to be fresh). Chicken sandwich looked better. Tots and fries were crispy.
Got the free birthday wings which was awesome! Great sports atmosphere, lots of TVs. Service was a little lacking, my drink was empty the the whole time. But to be fair I was just chugging it after a day in the sun and then eating their hottest wings. Will definitely be back. Im sure they will get that last star.
Ordered dinner tonight. I ordered a fried chicken sandwich. When it was delivered I received a burger. Not happy. It was very soggy and obviously a store bought burger. I would expect better for $14. We also ordered the pretzel bites... little to no salt, and there were only four of them. For $12 that’s nothing but a ripoff. Very upset
We went to Bentleys to celebrate a 65 bday. Great wings both bone in and regular. Waitress was really nice but we lost her somewhere. Apparently she left and we kept waiting. There was no one who came to tell us or even another waitress untill I got up to ask . We were all a little surprised . It would have been nice if someone had come to tellus uss her shift ended
They were busy, but we were seated right away. We were there celebrating our son-in-laws birthday, to enjoy the 41 free wings. The wings were a little slow in coming, but were delicious - nicely covered in the various sauces and crispy-skinned underneath. Our waitress was very nice and checked back with frequently to make sure our needs were met. Highly recommended, especially on your birthday.
Josh and everyone working for Bentleys went above and beyond to make the experience of having dinner out out amazing. The hostess was beyond considerate and calm and very professional as well as the entire staff . If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Also the food was outstanding.
Very busy sports-type tavern. Wait staff is nice. Food is good. They have a special on wings for birthdays number how old you are. They only give you as many as your party can eat at a time. Say if you are sixty and you bring another person they wont give you 60 wings all at once and you cant bring any home. The birthday person gets a complementary drink also. We had 9 in our party. One was 50 and the other 30. The wings were free but several of us also ordered from the menu. The bill was $144 and be careful because the tip is already added in at 18%.
It was fun! We went for a birthday free wing event and everything was delicious! The flavors were unique yet not over done. We had plenty of space and our waitor was amazing. He had our refills before we were done with our first drink. All of the staff was really nice just an all around good environment
Came here for quick bite. Ordered burger and wrap. Food was good. Waitress was less than friendly. She acted bothered to be waiting on us which was a turn off. I asked for more ketchup for the burger and dressing for my side salad and they charged me .50 for condiment. I find that very annoying to be nickel and dimed like that. Not sure when wait staff got so “uppity” that the customer is bothering them when ordering. Felt rushed when she took my order and not sure I will be back. As a business owner I know if my staff acted this way I would want to know!!
Sat at the bar for about 15 minutes before anyone asked if we would like a drink, waited another 15 for someone to ask if we wanted a menu (during the pandemic we have to order food) sat with menus in front of us for 20 minutes while severs kept walking past. Still no one at the bar asking what we would like to order. At the 50 minute mark of no one taking our order we ask for check, get up charged with a Sargento snack pack, as the server says “because Cuomo” no buddy that’s your fault. We went from potentially spending $60+ to $20 because not a single server asked to take out order. If bars and restaurants are seating at half capacity and they are fully staffed one would think getting decent, not even good service would be easy to find. Off to the public house for wings!
The service was very nice and attentive😁 My son had a burger, and it was cooked to order. My only criticism is that I ordered nachos and the chips were stale. When I brought it up, the manager came to tell me I was wrong and the chips were fine. I told her the chips were stale again. I tried to stomach them, but they were all chewy, like stale chips get. So, the manager then said they make them every day, questioning whether I was telling the truth. That wasnt necessary, IMO. I was only trying to help them because I used to like Bentleys. But if they want to serve stale chips and deny a customer complaint, then thats on them. Id rather not have a negative emotional relationship with a restaurant, which is what the manager made it when I brought up the quality of the food. Perhaps next time, dont call your customers liars, especially over chips.
Food okay, typical pub fare. Service was slow and poor. We repeatedly had to flag down waitresses, other than our own, to get what we needed - even to place our order. The place was busy, but not overly so, and there was plenty of staff. A couple waitresses seemed to be doing all the work.
Everything was very clean and the waitresses were attentive. I would give 5 stars except I ordered a pulled pork quesadilla and received tacos instead. I didnt say anything about the mix-up due to the tacos were very good and didnt want to be a hassle. Decent selection of draft beers as well.
Love this place. It is rare that Carolina Panthers football is on regular TV. We go here to get a bite and watch the Panthers on one if their big screens. Food is always fresh and reasonably priced. Service is always good too. Im partial to the pulled pork nachos paired with a draft beer. Add the jalapeno peppers for $1. Never had a bad visit.
Ordered mozzarella sticks, bbq pulled pork nachos and a rueben with extra everything ...The only thing with any amount of flavor to it was the mozzarella sticks and that’s because it had melba dipping sauce. Extremely disappointed, neither my boyfriend or I could finish our meals (we ordered to go). I was just hoping for so much more and was extremely let down that literally nothing had flavor except for the melba sauce.
Took my son for his 21st birthday.Ended up paying $65.10 for 2 beers, 20 wings, and a coke.Dont do the birthday deal unless youre really old...a few free wings arent worth itThe only one who makes out is the server with the mandatory 18% gratuity on the bill. *all politely explained before hand. #Sticker shock
I visited here for wings takeout. For 20 Wings, they couldn’t give me 2 flavors due to restaurant policy. So I had to play 2 separate orders of 10 Wings. Garlic Parmesan flavor was very bland. Buffalo mild was good. Ambience was good for a family outing or even watching sports. Overall, I’ll give 3 stars for good ambience, average food and no flexibility with wings takeout.
We ate lunch around noon on Sunday. The waitress was nice and the outdoor patio was cool. The wings were ok but not spicy even though we ordered hot. Everything else was awful. They fry something sweet in their oil so their mozzarella sticks and French fries taste sweet. The drinks are way over priced and weak. Ordered the Bentley’s Burger and it came out with zero of the stated toppings. The toppings had then been crudely slapped on top so the construction was all off, it was a mess. Ordered it medium rare and it came out well especially since it had to sit while the toppings were dealt with after the fact. Ordered the Build Your Own Chicken Sandwich. The sautéed onions were greasy and the raw onions were so gigantic they had to be ripped apart at the table to be edible. They up charge for condiments like they’re a fast food chain and their food was no better than a chain.
The worst bartenders ever! We went in tonight and first off we waited for over an over for our table so we sat at the bar. We are new to malta and this was our second time there, The bartenders are the most grumpiest I’ve ever seen during our both visits. We weren’t even impressed with the drinks! My husband ordered a Vodka martini and it was not even shaken (who doesn’t shake a martini!? Or chill a glass?) . Only plus side is our dark haired waitress was extremely friendly and even offered to turn on the fireplace when we mentioned we were cold. this was our first time dining in, next time we WILL NOT sit at the bar. we had a long week at work, the last we want is to order drinks with a bar full of miserable bartenders that can’t even greet us.
Went here for Birthday wings.... always have! First... lets talk about the main reason. The STAFF. The staff is always welcoming and they go out of their way to make it comfortable. Sure, it can be busy but they are always accommodating... plus You can always you the website to reserve a table....Now for the FOOD!! Deeeeelllicious. My favorite flavor is 24Karat (pictured) ... no not the song by Bruno Mars. Now granted the other flavors rock as well and there is a plethora to choose from. You cant go wrong on whatever taste you have!!Go celebrate and have a good time....its worth every bite!!P.S. Dont forget the brownie sundae for dessert!!! Mmmmmmmm.
No silverware on the table had to ask 2 people, food was gross, high chair did not have a belt to fasten child he stood up to eat, very cold was by the window. Waitress did not come back to see if we needed drinks filled. We will never go back there very disappointed and costly for what we ordered.
Service ok, Mac n cheese has too much butter. The burger, although better than mcdonalds was still just a frozen patty. French fries were like warm at best. Could have done way better for $31.50 + tip. Included one soda with loads of ice and one water, no refill on either.
Free Wings on your Birthday!Sorta. As long as you do what they ask of you. Minimum drink order, only get your age worth of wings, and baked in 18% gratuity. Our server did not earn even that. As polite as she was , she’s didn’t clear spent service dish and glass wear, lackadaisical with follow up drink and food orders. Ordered the chicken quisedilla soup after the wings which came WITHOUT blue cheese and veggies ( $2 per order of wings which came half way through the consumption of said wings ) and it was COLD.We were celebrating the birthday of my stepson’s girlfriend and this was all very disappointing. The Free Wings thing is nothing but a money grab. Go there when there’s No birthday, and the place might be pretty good
We were there today for the second time and for the second time had bad service. The last time we were there we were offered more celery unsolicited and took up the offer only to see that we were charged though we would not have asked for more and only took it because it was offered. This time we were charged for a beer that we never ordered (there were three off us and we each had a soda for which were aptly charged). We were also charged for an extra blue cheese which we asked for but never got and there was a charge for another condiment and we werent sure what that was. When we explained to the waitress why were unhappy she was incredibly condescending. Its to bad, the food is decent but the sub-par service and the seemingly sneaky up charges leave us not wanting to go back.
It was good food but the free wings on your birthday (age=wings) is why it gets 4 stars.Fun story time. So we were there for our friends 30ish birthday and our 4 kids were being kids but by no means bad. They were loud but no louder than any other table. Ages 6 6 3 and 1. Well this old guy come up and says I dont know why you people bring kids out to restaurants they are loud and ... You get the idea. WELL as they were leaving his I presume wife came over and said the exact opposite to us well we informed her about the previous conversation and she was shocked as to what he said. I hope she chewed out his old leathery ass.
Food was great .. Service SUCKED ! So badly that I dont think we will ever go back ! She is lucky the gratuity was allready added onto the total of our check or else she wouldent have gotten a tip! But then again maybe thats why she was so terrable ... because she new she was getting tipped regardless !
Food is always good we had a big party and the service was good but when we went to check out thats were the problems began first of all they will not let people do separate checks every body pays in different ways I told everyone to get their drinks at the bar so I dont have to keep track because its impossible so when I got the check there was six beers on the check then I handed the check around the table so everyone can pay their share after my friends paid their share the waiter gave me the receipt back the amount didnt change much so I called the waiter over and asked him what was going on because I had the copies of the receipts from the people who paid and it didnt add up and said that some of the receipts didnt show up on the register you really need to check your receipts people
Bentleys has gone steadily downhill the past two years or so. Now, on a rare good night, it maxes out in quality at the upper end of mediocre. However, recently it seems as though none of the old Bentleys that we locals learned to love even exists anymore. In fact, on average, Bentleys downright sucks. At this point, Im not sure which is worse - the service or the food. Allow me to walk you through my latest - and last - visit to the tavern and you can decide for yourself.I walked in and sat myself, as youre supposed to, and my drink and appetizer orders of water and spinach-artichoke dip were promptly taken by a friendly, young waitress within 10 minutes. However, when I received the dip, the cheese that had been grossly melted onto the top was hard as a rock; it had to be removed from the dish so that I could dip the over-salted, store-bought tortilla chips into it. Once I removed the top layer of cheese, it revealed a second layer of unmelted shredded cheese and a lukewarm center. I ate only as much as I could pallet before the salt from the chips made my mouth numb. In that time I had been able to put in the order for my entree and expected it to be out a few minutes after they had cleared the appetizer. I sat and I waited... and waited... and waited.... Finally 45 minutes later (that is, 45 minutes after the appetizer was cleared) I managed to get the attention of our waitress and asked her to check on our food order. She barely even stopped to listen to me ask her to check on the status of my order, and effectively just walked briskly past me with a quiet acknowledgment that she had heard me. She never came back. Finally 10 minutes after that, I got the attention of a second, very unfriendly waitress, explained to her that Id been waiting almost an hour for my order, and thatd Id like the bill for the appetizer so I could leave. Her response was a half-hearted mutter, oh, sorry about that, and instead of doing what any eatery with an ounce of class would do, brought us back the full, undiscounted check for the appetizer. Now, its not that Im upset that I didnt get a free appetizer. Its that Im upset about the fact that it was clear nobody working at that restaurant gave a crap about the customer experience. Both when my water was refilled and when the appetizer had been cleared, the waitress was moving so briskly that I barely even got a chance to say thank you, and I received no reaction from her when I did. She already had her back to me. I should mention I was one of for or five customers in a very empty restaurant, so its not like it was dinner rush or they were understaffed. In 45 minutes of sitting, it had not occurred to a single waitress to check on our table. In addition, when I explicitly requested that the order be checked on, I was left unattended and with no follow up what-so-ever from the waitress I had asked (who was the same one that took my initial order). At a decent restaurant, somebody would have given us more than a mumbled and brisk apology or even offered something on the house. Bentleys apparently does not possess that level of tact.

2022-06-05I used to love Bentley’s. They had amazing food. Their boneless wings were the best I had ever had. Today I returned to Bentley’s after a few year hiatus and was really disappointed. The boneless wings were basically Tyson boneless wings. I don’t go to a restaurant and pay restaurant prices for microwave wings. They were all breading with overcooked, dry chicken in the middle. Strange to go from the best to the worst. The service was also terrible, the server never came back to ask how our meal was and we had to wait forever for the check. On the plus side my margarita was good.

2022-03-27Nice place to dine with friends. They have so many varieties of chicken wings. Loved their garlic-parm wings. You get as many free wings as your age and second glass of bear free on your birthday. Lot of space. If you want a quiet romantic dinner then this is not a place because its a sports bar.

2021-07-16Pricey but good food. pizza and reuben were excellent. inside and outside seating with various different areas/rooms inside. bartenders were chill and attentive. plenty of parking. it’s a nice gastropup-type bar/grille that you see everywhere in the suburbs these days…no charm or personality but worth a shot.

2022-04-28Great place! Been here several times over the years and it hasnt changed much. Solid service, great bar area, great selection of drinks and a menu that has kept up with the times. Would definitely recommend.

2022-04-24Place was busy at 5pm on a Saturday. Bar is loud so request a seat in the dining room if you want to have a conversation. Beer was cold. Tavern pizza was overly smothered in cheese. They do offer tater tots which is a rarity at local restaurants.

2022-05-19Ive been here many times over the years, never remember having bad experience. Bentleys Tavern is just abit off the beaten path. Id say it has a traditional UK type atmosphere with nice stained wood paneling and trim plus everything youd expect in an American establishment with plenty of TVs and Quick Draw. Theyve recently added a expanded dining area/event space, and now offer two sets of restrooms. My last two trips I enjoyed an excellent overstuffed steak and cheese hoagie with peppers and onions. Prices were fair, and bar tenders attentive. Stop in, you wont be disappointed.

2022-05-08Fun times with friends. Great staff, good food. The back room is too loud. They need to add in sound deadening material to the walls and ceilings. It was so loud it was uncomfortable at times.
