Don’t use same day delivery if you actually want the product in your possession. Unlike the other high end department stores they do not have a grasp on how to properly execute “same day pick up” like the others. There is no estimate wait time or updates given, no communication was given. Then never received an email for pick up, both store and customer service could not tell me where my package was. I certainly didn’t receive same day and don’t have any real answers on when I can pick up. If in NYC go to another department store for “same day” or shop at the actual designer store. Not worth the headache!
Regularly lists items as in stock and available, only to cancel the order several days after its placed. Every time the email says they will provide a coupon code for the trouble but this code is never sent. After cancelling the order the item still shows in stock. We have stopped trying to purchase. Disappointing.
Return experience didnt live up to the Bergdorf Goodman name or reputation. It breaks my heart to write this review but I am beyond frustrated with the difficulty I have had to navigate. Just make sure you love your purchase before attempting to return them. I purchased a pair of shoes in the store in March and had them shipped home to me, they didnt work so I decided to return them. First was a visit online, found a customer service number, called was told to go online and find the return form, copious amounts of text communications, and finally got a return label address - had to pay for the return myself. Called the cell phone of the sales representative, and she said she would send me a return label, nothing. Shipped the shoes back, tracked the package was delivered on 4.20.22. Called customer service to track down the return, and was told to call the store directly. Called the store directly and was asked for the details of the order and told it would take 5+ days to track the return. This has been such a headache and disappointment.
An amazing experience for purchasing a bag. A horrible customer service for return/exchange. Everything went south when I asked to see the small leather goods as an exchange because I told them I dont want classics but something small instead! The SA said if I dont like anything in the store I should just return it! LOL I was thinking to myself why cant he and his assistant show me the small stuff like wallets with chain or vanity bags! Yes, micro bag trend as I was looking for in the first place but ended up buying a PURSE! They didnt get me. I have options as a fashion consumer. It doesnt make me less of the Chanel customer if I dont want to use the $5000 Chanel bag that I decided to return. Go to 57th street forever from now on. I respect my choice enough to not deal with the entitled sale associates
My family and I visited the women’s side of the building and we were looking for the bathroom on the seventh floor. We asked this Asian lady who works there and she lied to us to go down to the basement although the floor information clearly said there was only one on the seventh floor. We did find one on the seventh floor. I don’t know what got into her head to behave that way. But it’s really said as another Asian that someone can be so shallow and behave this way. I would never go to this store again.
For a luxury store that is linked to Neiman Marcus, this stores customer service is by far the worst. Their employees should possess friendliness and service-oriented characteristics but not here, maybe TJMaxx. There are great numbers of Mismatched core competencies for some of the staff here. Too many Quick commission attitude and not enough CARE.Prior to my recent phone call, I attempted to visit this store last year 2021 at the Sulwhasoo counter. The sales associate dismissed my inquiry while she seem to ignore any comments about what my concerns were. Yes, she was downright rude even exercised discriminatory body language.Last week I need to find something specific and BG came up as the seller. I decided to give this store another chance. I contacted them again to find that reaching a live person is impossible. Decided to visit the store instead & was lucky enough to meet an extraordinary soul that was willing to assist and cater to my concerns.
Ive always loved fashion but never really branched out into designer wear. Went into BG today (Sunday morning) right as they opened and was happily surprised by the service. I only wish I remembered the SAs names, but the woman on the 5th floor who sold me my Veronica Beard jacket and the woman at the Jo Malone counter were nothing but incredible. I dont splurge like this very often but I will be back.
I met extremely rude sales associate at the Goyard section in Bergdorf Goodman on Monday (Jun 20th). She was a white old lady, I cant believe how she could become a sa. I was shopping around, and I found a Goyard saint louis bag on the shelf. I grabbed it and suddenly the lady came up to me and she sighed very deeply and loudly and took it away. HaHaHa. I have several different luxury designers bags and I never met someone like this. What she did to me was totally unprofessional and she literally ruined my day. I hope BG improves the quality of customer service and SA training system
I took my husband to Bergdorfs for lunch for our Wedding Anniversary-the food was not worth the price-which is sad because we have no problem paying high dollar for quality-it appears the restaurant is riding off their name which is sad.. The waiter was not attentive and when I asked for shrimps, the waitress looked at me as if I asked for chocolate covered rocks! She then said we no longer sell shrimps because they werent selling--I DONT KNOW WHAT RESTAURANT HAS PROBLEMS SELLING SHRIMPS!!! Plus, why arent there any people of color pictures on the wall on the 7th. Floor?? We stopped in the jewelry store and the master jeweler-Tyler and his assistant Lori Lewin made our day! They made us feel extra special and they treated us like old friends who shopped Bergdorf since the early 20s :) Thank you Tyler and Lori for your wonderful treatment and making our Anniversary even more special!!! And to the restaurant-please ensure that all guests feel welcomed and revamp that dull overpriced menu!! Had it not been for the Jewelers-I would give (1) Star!!

I placed an order for a fragrance with overnight shipping on July 18th with plans to take it to Chicago over the weekend. It is now 11pm on July 25th and it still hasn’t shipped. After multiple calls and a live text chat, I just keep getting the run around and updated ship date daily. Nobody will accept responsibility and say “I will personally ship it out right now.” They just keep saying they put in for “immediate shipping” or “it shows it’s shipping today.” It switched from shipping from online to shipping directly from the store so the fact that a person that works in the fragrance department can’t take responsibility and send it is beyond me. They passed the phone around when I was transferred to their department as if nobody wanted to help me.I have a lady at Neiman that I contact directly and she sends my fragrances out the same day. Why is this so hard for Bergdorf? This is the type of customer service I’d expect from Macys, not a luxury department store when I’m spending $500 on a fragrance and paid for overnight shipping.Unless you have plenty of time to wait around for your order, I would advise against ordering from this store. I have never had this issue ordering from Neiman Marcus or SaksFifth.
Wonderful experience this afternoon at the Men’s cologne section. Francesca was so incredibly helpful. As someone who is fairly new to the world of fragrance, Francesca introduced me too a few options and helped me select the perfect new cologne. She was so kind and attentive. I look forward to returning and expanding my collection of amazing perfumes.
Purchased Christian Louboutin boots online. Wore them once and they wrecked. I contacted the store as I was concerned with the authenticity of the boots for such damage with one use. I was told if I email pictures showing the damage, they would replace them. I emailed the photos as requested and didnt hear back. I followed up with a call and was told they did not receive my email. I was asked to forward the prior email to a new email. I did several times and they continued to state same was not received. I kept sending emails while the person was on the line and was told they were not getting my emails and that they were spending too much time with me. I was getting irritated because I was sending emails that apparently were not being received. I spelled out the email address to ensure receipt to no avail. Long story short, I was told they can probably fix my shoe but I had to physically bring it to the store to drop it off so that they can assess the damage. Had I wanted to go into the store, I would never have ordered the shoes online! I was told someone would call me back to follow up and I never heard from them. Im highly concerned that a prestigious store such as this would be so careless with their customers. This is outrageous! I am taking my boots to a local shoe repair to be fixed and will not be making any purchases from here again.
Absolutely the worst experience, bought a brand new Moncler vest online from them and they would not exchange it for a larger size 60 days later, it’s never been worn, had all the tags, and had the receipt. Customer service was rude both in store and on the phone. Not a luxury experience and will not buy through them again.When you pay full retail for something at a luxury store, they must stand by their products and their customers. Never again!
Review for Mens Store.Can be hit or miss from a customer service viewpoint here. Shopping experience may alternate widely from being nicely greeted to totally ignored. However, since BG can be a tourist must see, I guess this is understandable.The store looks good, but could stand a major refresh, especially since the Nordstrom outpost landed in town!Top quality merchandise prevails within but often in limited quantity and sizing. Mens shoes on first floor is sometimes stoggy, but third floor shoe department rocks!
What a beautiful store and store front. Just the most special place to really look at the beautiful window Furnishings that they have done for the Christmas season people come from all over the world to see if hes beautiful windows that are done in the latest fashions and fantasy settings
If you want to have a taste of class and quality in New York and enjoy pure white table clothes which are almost extinct in today’s massproduction and mass consumption and fast food New York vs slow food quality, this is your restaurant at the top floor of Bergdorf Goodman in mid town, the top of the mark department store. Service is with full care. Menu offers great variety. Everything is done obviously with care and knowledge. Pasta is al dente. Compliments to the chef and the entire staff. It is expensive, yes, but better eat one meal here and fast for two days than expose yourselves to high volume music, terrible acoustics, problematic hygiene as eating is mostly on dirty tables with no table clothes or god knows when renewed place mats, and no taste food in most of NY restaurants even those who think they pitch high and charge an arm and leg.
If I could give zero star I would. Dont ever buy from Bergdorf Goodman, especially from the online store!!! They try to sell customers faulty items and refuse to honor the return. I ordered a pair of Jimmy Choo mules which was supposed to be completely new, but when I received it it appeared to be used, or at least on display and tried on for many times, so I made a return as soon as I received the shoes. a few weeks later, they rejected my return saying that the shoes have been used, which was why I returned in the first place. I was astonished that they were trying to pin the fault on me, while its clearly BGs fault that they are sending a customer a pair of used shoes and forcing its customer to stick with them. It appeared to me that they are deliberately selling me used shoes while they were well aware that those shoes shouldnt be sold to me in the first place. I called customer service and they said it was the warehouses decision, that I could send it again as I want but theyre gonna reject the return and send the shoes back to me again. Customer service told me that I should contact my bank for a refund. When I filed a claim with my bank, BG lied to my bank claiming that they have never received my return, while in reality BG has well received my return and wasnt willing to honor the return. Terrible, terrible experience! Ive had online shopping experience for several years now and I have never had any issue with other retailers. Please by all means avoid BG.
Their premier service has been reduced to a thirty day return policy with no exceptions for Covid. This local will not be shopping there any longer. You have need warned. PS The new customer service dept has been set up as a booth in the basement. That really should tell you all you need to know about todays BG.
Located at the corner of Fifth Avenue and 58th Street, this Bergdorf Goodman is a one-of-a-kind. Considered one of New York Citys leading flagship stores, it offers some pretty upscale fashion, and the price tag that goes along with it. Haha! We were greeted cheerfully and we really enjoyed wandering around, but to be honest my husband and I were there more to appreciate the history of the place than to actually do any shopping. This art deco building was once a Vanderbilt mansion. (Ive toured the Vanderbilts Biltmore Estate in the majestic mountains of Asheville, North Carolina... so I was curious about what Id find in Bergdorf Goodman.) There are eight gorgeous floors of elegant couture for women at the location where we entered (opened in 1928), but was surprised to find that there were three floors for men across Fifth Ave (opened much later in 1990). Im glad we popped in, but unless I win the lottery, I doubt Ill be doing much shopping there routinely. I appreciate its place in NYC.Bergdorf was an immigrant from Alsace; Goodman was a young Jewish merchant. The company was founded in 1899. Just try to wrap your brain around that.... That kind of longevity and history. All the changes that have occurred in that span of time!I only took a photo from the outside (one of the iconic window displays) because I was afraid employees might get freaked out if I started taking pics inside. Its fine, though. I imagine so much has changed on the inside that theres little historical information to record.
Since I was a teenager, always loved to shop at Bergdorf Goodman. I also love the architecture of the historic building which houses it.Great service knowlegeable staff. Outstanding Customer Care. From designer to haute couture by the most renowned and the up and coming young avant-garde.Splendid merchandising rebirthing the esthetic sense of its consumer.
Ordered for store pick up and days later the item still wasn’t there, I was in nyc for four days and figured no problem. The same day I ordered some things to ship and they will get here before the item will get to the store, the customer service counter was not helpful at all. Sarah a manager is helping me now and maybe just maybe I’ll get my item sometime soon. You can’t charge these prices and offer Walmart service, sorry just doesn’t cut it, plus you walk in and almost all associates have there heads down and are using their phones, now maybe they are helping long distance customers, however looking up as people are in the store and acting interested would go a long long way!
Staff Seemed A Bit Ditzy At One StoreWe decided to shop around before going to the restaurant to eat at the top floor. As we were shopping this woman on the staff stops us and states “you guys look really dressed up to be just shopping around” and squints at us in a slightly pleasant but also confrontational tone (if you can picture it plastered smile and all) it was so odd especially when a woman walked past us with a fur coat and nice jewelry and a birkin bag like very well dressed we had on business casual clothes on for a nice dinner… anyway my friend very SLOWLY Explains to her we’re going to our reservation after shopping to which she was I guess put at ease but since this place is huge for tourist and I have seen so many elegantly dressed people there…. the question was either her attempt at being a bigot as we were two minority women or a very ditzy fail at making conversation… because the question was so silly I’m going with the latter!But otherwise the staff was BEYOND amazing and warm, especially at the restaurant just it did negatively impact my experience
Great place for a nice meal. The cafe is located on the seventh floor right off the elevators. Staff was friendly and very accommodating. The cafe had a coat check area. They have a tea service that starts at 3 pm. Will be back to try that. Try to get a seat by the windows for a view of central park.
Gorgeous icon of shopping on 5th Avenue, one of the originals. Beautiful piece of architecture with so much history. The windows are spectacular year round, not just at the holiday season. The store is very high end, cosmetics department is a joy to walk through. The restaurant as well is fabulous for lunch/brunch. A must visit when in this fabulous city.
Around the corner from the Central park and opposite Plaza hotel there is this notorious place of glamour and untouchable items. Sit back and observe the scene of fabulous world designers items and the passing by clients. Xmas decoration in the last floor are definately worth a peak, super cute and dreamy! Dont forget to take a coffee or a sip of prosecco in the upper cafeteria
I purchased a scarf 5 days ago on Bergdorf Goodman website. 3 days later, I received an order cancellation email (it says that the product is no longer available ). According to that email, they were planning to send me 10% discount offer email within 24 hours. 6 days have been passed, but I havent received any discount offer email. I called Bergdorf Goodman customer service on Dec 24. The representative told me to wait until I receive the email. It is ridiculous and irresponsible; one dollar store has better customer service.
Will never order from here again. Ordered online for “same day delivery” by courier in Manhattan. My order never arrived. Yet customer service says it was delivered. The website states the courier is supposed to text/call 15 minutes before arrival and upon arrival. No text. No call. No delivery. I’ve been home all day. All customer service can do is “file a claim” which will take several days to track down their own courier??? Never ever again. I basically got robbed.
Love Bergdorfs! Great location, fabulous selection, most of the staff is very helpful (although on my last trip someone put all of my stuff away from my fitting room as I was still shopping! 😒 The woman helping me was extremely apologetic and lets be honest, far worse things happen in the world than luxury goods being cleaned out of a fitting room while a customer is still shopping.) My only complaint is that the store is very old and the layout is choppy, although it does add charm to it. Overall great selection and service.
The place is decorated beautiful for the holidays. The windows are exquisite and classy. Ideal for insta pictures. The store does carry high-end clothes, jewelry and perfumes for unisex and for all. If you love channel , LV famous name brands this is the place to shop.
I recently had wirst experience in this store, not in any other store i have experienced the same. I had my mask on nose little bit showing, went downstairs in parfume section and one of the store assosiates asked me to take my mask and cover my nose fully, as i havr a breathing problem i told her i can not breathe and she literally told me no you havr to cover your nse again and she basically followed me through that floor and was checking on me over and over again, i consider this as harassment and this needs to be stopped asap,
I purchased Christian Louboutin pumps and had them shipped to my house in September 2021. I tried them on and they didnt fit, so I returned the shoes in new condition with ALL the original packaging. I waited patiently for my returned to be processed. Because I didnt hear anything for a month, I contacted the company asking the status. I found out the shoes I returned were not accepted because there were some so called damaged. Keep in mind I tried on the shoes on carpet and then put them back in the box. Bergdorf Goodman decided to return the shoes back to me without my knowledge - NO TRACKING NUMBER, NOTHING TELLING ME ABOUT THE RETURN, NOTHING!!! The shoes Bergdorf Goodman returned to me HAD DAMAGE on the shoes! In addition, Bergdorf Goodman didn’t even return the shoes back to me in the original packaging, which is special done box - I paid for, so essentially BERGDORF GOOD STOLE FROM ME!!! THEFT!!! I have been trying to dispute the purchase and just going around in circles, very frustrating! Since I have to pay for these shoes that Bergdorf Goodman damaged, I have asked for the original packaging with no help at all from customer service. Customer service DOES NOT want to take any responsibility for their actions - returns when their employees damage a customers return, not helping resolving any issues, even harassment. I have also about a month ago unsubscribed to Bergdorf Goodmans emails or texts, yet the company keeps sending me emails. Basically the company is now HARASSING me with solicitation!!! I told the manager if I get one more email, I will be contacting my states Attorney General. I also stated I will be contacting the Christian Louboutin company so they can know how Bergdorf Goodman is representing them.UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES DO AT LEAST ONLINE BUSINESS WITH BERGDORF GOODMAN!!!!
A helpful staff member by the entrance gave advice inside the store and places to eat at while visiting New York. The recommendation was personalized and a good fit.Also had a look at Balenciagas space suit -- five thousand dollars! Wow. Third floor had plenty of designer clothes, with the crowd was noticeably younger.
I didn’t eat my salad. The artichoke hearts tasted very off, and it made me worry about the chicken. The greens had black mushy pieces, and the chef should be told. It was Friday 9/17. A terrible salad. However!!!! I did not inform the handsome and delightful waiter, because I had such a nice time, I was there for about 3 hrs without any nudge suggesting it might be time for me and my dear friend to leave, and the iced tea was delicious. It’s outside for drinks and less Covid fear inside for food. Also, I suppose I should note that my friend loved her crab cake, AND the waiter did recommend it. But really, I could have gotten a better salad in an elementary school cafeteria.
My experience is mostly excellent; of coarse I have a centurion black card. But they are very accommodating and bring everything to my home or office. They know how to treat customers attentively and follow up in a non-invasive way. I spend more time in Miami now so I can’t wait until you open in Miami.
Don’t buy there. Was my first and last time.Bought something for 3-5 days delivery. 5+ emails and 3 weeks later, they finally replied letting me know they won’t fulfill the order because item is discontinued. It’s still available on the website… They forgot to let me know if / how I will be refunded. Worst customer care ever.
Bergdorf Goodman‘s is absolutely my favorite department store in the entire world! Staff are very courteous and willing to help, inventory of course, is gorgeous and you really do feel pampered in the store! Obviously the prices are high as you are paying for high-quality and designer clothing items, but it’s an absolute joy to go into the store.
I spoke wirh 4 different people within this organization as I made a purchase for Christmas. Each individual person guaranteed the items would be received before Christmas. When I called in (the day I expected to receive the items) I was told I processed the order after the time needed. When joselyn looked it up she then mentioned I had ordered it well before the time needed but the organization didnt ship out the items in time.

Worst online retail service ever. Package comes in weird shape EVERY SINGLE TIME no matter how much you spend on the stuff inside. This time it’s stained with some weird liquid and THAT’S IT for me. I just hope all these good online retailers who actually try can completely take over the game after the pandemic.
My first time visiting BG and was very excited to be shopping there. I found a pair of shoes I wanted to try on so I asked one of the employees if I could get my size to try on. He asked me if I could afford it before he’d agree to bring it out. I was dumbfounded at the question and wondered whether he was being funny. Turned out, he was being serious and was so irritated that he had to bring it out for me. Needless to say, I didn’t purchase anything from there and just ended up spending my money at Nordstrom instead.
My shopping experience (in-store & online) were very great until my most recent shopping experience at Bergdorf. The sales associates at the returns center & Chanel were very rude, and I hope that I do not have to go through again in the future. At the returns center, the sales associate spoke to me as if I did not know English and treated me horribly (even when I had all the original packaging & receipt all ready). At Chanel, I had to wait for more than 30 minutes in order to get the associates attention. They assisted people who came after me. They did not acknowledge my presence. If you shop in other areas of the department store, the sales associates are very welcoming. Just the returns center & Chanel I would try to stay away from.
I purchased some items online with a promotion code. Everything in my shopping cart looks fine with the promotion code being successfully applied. When I click on the place the order button with my credit card info, it charges my card the price without the promotion. I feel being deceived and find this totally unacceptable. I called customer service and after being hung up twice, they finally told me that there is some rule, which you only get to find after several clicks on the website, some small front letters at the bottom say this promotion MAY NOT be combined with other promotions. When I added items to my shopping cart, some gifts (free samples) were automatically added to my shopping cart. I was told that I have to remove those free samples to get the promotion, but the shopping cart gives me no option to do that. Basically, you have no choice but being deceived according to the design of your online shopping cart. The person on the customer service line was nice enough to offer to help me find a way to remove those free samples from his end so that the promotion can be applied... Hope other people who shop on their website do not have to go through the same frustration!
Was up from Virginia for a long weekend in NYC with my partner, As Omicron was breaking out, canceled sit down lunch and headed to Central Park for a picnic. While walking back, stopped in at one of my favorite stores Bergdorf Goodman. My partner found Veronique Gabai lotion to die for and as it is exclusively made for Bergdorf we grabbed a bottle and headed to the remainder of our whirlwind. Getting back to DC and unpacking, we noticed we had a Tester bottle and no dispenser pump. Also, we could not find a receipt.Not to worry I called Bergdorf this morning. Starting with the toll free number I was quickly given the NYC number and there was efficiently greeted and passed on to cosmetics. Unfortuately the product representative was not in yet so all I did was leave my contact.By midday, the rep - Cesar Diaz - got back to me, apologized, offered to replace the bottle (first with a return and quickly saying dont bother as a gift for the trouble he would just send out the replacement, along with a dispenser top. We had to look up the receipt but no problem there, quickly and easily handled by Cesar. As my partner loves the lotion I was more than satisfied. I told Cesar this is why I shop at Bergdorf - the best products and customer service - not available on the internet. Wanted to write this review to commend the store but more importantly to give Cesar a shout out (Merry Christmas and Happy New Year). I know corporate office reads these closely so hope Cesar gets the recognition he richly deserves. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK. Have not yet received new bottle but Cesar even sent me a snap of what is on its way (and I include the TESTER bottle I started with). All in all, perfect resolution. Who could ask for anything more.
I called to see if the Givenchy nano was in stock, I was told that it was not, but they would next day air. I specifically asked if it would be there the next day, the associate assured me that it would, and that he would provide me with the tracking number the following day . He never followed up the next day, and I had to call -only to find out that my order would not be there until three days after the “next day air”So he basically told me anything , and didn’t have the decency enough to provide me with an update. Poor customer service and follow up for such a luxury brand. Saks As well as their reps are much better . Don’t waste you time here.
Attended a trunk show today at the bridal “salon” & to put it nicely it was a disaster. Let’s start at the beginning: My sister had an appointment at 2pm where they were extremely insistent that you must BE. ON. TIME. as this show is very popular & you will only have one hour’s time for your appointment. We checked in on time but ended up having to wait until 2:45 for an attendant to make her time available to us AFTER another woman with no appointment was helped before my sister & while they humored another girl for an extra 35 minutes as she sat around socializing & drinking champagne in a dress she already decided she was buying. Don’t explicitly ask for promptness if it is not going to be adhered to. Moving on, my sister had signed up for the show under the impression that the designer Markarian would have dresses displayed for try on & was asked via email to pick out six different Markarian designs so they could be sent over if they weren’t already going to be included in the show. Her attendant admitted freely that she had never heard of the designer Markarian and they only had two of the designs my sister picked out available for fitting, AND had no knowledge of the prior correspondence about the requested six preferred designs. The attendant was more concerned about her phone than helping my sister with her dress trains & buttons, but felt the need to make comments like “the fabric looks cheap!”. Ma’am, are you not trying to SELL these dresses??????? The salon was messy & unorganized; sample shoes strewn about, previously tried on dresses still hanging in fitting rooms… a PILL ON THE GROUND. Used champagne glasses just forgotten on tables. It was just a completely uncomfortable experience—yes it was just a trunk show—but the absolute lack of organization & professionalism was jarring.
All Chanel stores are amazing! The difference is service. I need to take a moment to rave about SA-Mrika at Chanel BG. She is as good as it gets! I have not received excellent service like this in any other store I have shopped in. She will do anything to accommodate you, beyond knowledgeable. I had called the store prior asking about the classic double flap in a medium. Mrika welcomed me and my daughter with refreshments, and spent a lot of time with me. She was very helpful, extremely patient, and efficient. It’s not easy dealing with an indecisive customer. Mrika is a refreshing alternative to the typical salesperson. She made me feel like she was focused on just me and not trying to pick up as many customers as possible. Thank you for such a pleasurable experience - you’re a credit to Chanel! My daughter got not one but two Camelia flowers as a souvenir. Please look for her when you get a chance to shop here. She is an absolute gem!
I paid 25 dollars more for 1 - 2 days shipping. As a customer, I expect to receive my order in 1 - 2 days. But no, they said processing the order takes time so I would receive the order few more days later. I dont think that how other online retailers work, if you state overnight shipping, means customer receives it overnight, 1 - 2 days means order gets to you in 1 - 2 days. I put 2 stars only because the rep is nice and apologizing
This store has an amazing fragrance shopping area in the basement. I was able to smell several fragrances from Tom Ford, Hermés, Frederic Malle, by Kilian, Creed and Roja Parfums. I wish I had more time to visit their Guerlain area but unfortunately time was short when myself and my friend finally arrived there. It was a very pleasing browsing experience and all of the sales representatives at the respective brands were helpful and respectful while assisting us. One in particular stood out ahead of the rest, Tom Crutchfield at Roja Parfums! He told us stories about the early days of the fragrance community before the internet was even a reality. He shared with a few memories involving a fallen Icon within the fragrance game, Brooklyn Fragrance Lover aka, Carlos Powell (RIP). It was a very interesting, and entertaining interaction. Tom is a wonderful person that I hope to see again soon and talk fragrances!
Avoid like the plague. Will cancel your order the day before it’s supposed to arrive, and give you attitude. Shocking they’re still around. Spoke to a “supervisor” who essentially told me it’s not their fault they ran out of inventory. Kept delaying my order (over a week) then cancelled it. Shocking.
I lost my ring in the ladys room, is not the store fault, however I called as soon as I notice, no one respond, finally I got the number for Clients Service Rep.Rosemarie Garcia , she never answer the phone, mail box full, I went to the store spoke to Rosemarie, extremely rude totally not CSR, she told me to go to the bathroom an check, I asked her if the bathrooms still not clean from the previous day. The store needs to send her back to a refresh class, in Costumer Service BG is extremely strong in CS, still my favor store to shop, few bad apples cant damage their reputation. This happen in the men store. btw
Ive waited almost a year to get my issue solved. I can finally write this review with every detail and maybe someone of importance will take care of a future client the correct way. I purchased a dress the first week of March 2020. This dress needed to be altered. I was never told the alterations were not Included with the purchase of the dress. When I picked up the dress on March 9th, 2020, I noticed the tassle to the waist tie was missing. They assured me they would get it resolved and just to take the dress with me. They charged me almost 300 for alterations on top of the dress. I never made a fuss and agreed that they would resolve all issues. Of course shortly after, lockdown was put in place, so I patiently waited until stores reopened and I could contact the BG associate. For 9 months I was given the ring around; emails ignored, calls ignored and the associate never gave me anyone elses number to talk to. I went on my own trying to contact a GM and not a single person tried to take care of my issue. When you spend $3,500 on a dress I think you should have a bit better treatment because its obviously an important piece. Well now its February 2021 and I finally received my tassle in the mail. No apology note. No refund. No gift card. They even spelled my name wrong on the packaging. I dont want anything further from the company but I will definitely not be returning or suggest anyone who wants good service to go. Hopefully this review will open a discussion about customer service and save someone some time.
Bergdorf steals from its customers.I purchased an $800 dress with expedited shipping for $25. When it arrived I opened it only to find a xsmall size womans blue quilted jacket (i looked it up recentlly and the price is nearly a quarter of that of the dress).I called bergdorfs asap and told them their error. They said they were out of the dress and then they gave me a return slip an told me to send back the jacket. I live in new york, I had to ask my boyfriend to print the return slip, tape it all back up and walk it to the nearest fedex 10 min away (20 min roundtrip). I got the refund for the shipping ($25) but never recvd the refund for the $800. I just called them, they told me they cant find the jacket so theyre holding the $800 hostage until they do.I have no dress. I am nearly $1k out of money (IN A PANDEMIC). And absolutely no recourse because i no longer have the jacket -- its been returned to them.Dont Buy from Bergdorfs. They steal from their customers
I ordered sneakers and was sent the wrong size. When I called customer service they were to send a FedEx label. When I went to drop it at FedEx, it was the wrong label. I had to call customer service again to get it corrected. Then they erroneously sent me an email that another shipment of the sneakers was being sent. I had to contact customer service again. Such a horrible experience and I am still waiting for them to pick up the sneakers.
You can have a shoe in your hand and unless you look like old money, they won’t even glance over at you. No HI, no anything you might as well be invisible. Not a very comfortable store to shop in. Would recommend saks over this any day unless you want to buy goyard as they don’t have one at saks .
In case you want to have a taste of class and quality in New York and enjoy pure white table clothes which are almost extinct in today’s massproduction and mass consumption and fast food New York vs slow food quality, this is your restaurant at the top floor of Bergdorf Goodman in mid town, the top of the mark department store. Service is with full care. Menu offers great variety. Everything is done obviously with care and knowledge. Pasta is al dente. Compliments to the chef and the entire staff. It is expensive, yes, but better eat one meal here and fast for two days than expose yourselves to high volume music, terrible acoustics, problematic hygiene as eating is mostly on dirty tables with no table clothes or god knows when renewed place mats, and no taste food in most of NY restaurants even those who think they pitch high and charge an arm and leg.
The Department Store as we knew and loved is here. Staff is generally unpretentious and not pressuring. If you need assistance or advice, they are happy to oblige. Definitely unlike the current crop of cookie-cutter mall anchors. Sure, you won’t find a bargain here, but then again, we didn’t come here to look for one. Truly enjoyed our experience and will be a staple on future visits.
Went in just to look. The staff was friendly and made me feel welcome, they encouraged me to look at things even though i made it clear that i wasn’t buying. I asked every employee i met what their favorite item was from their section, it made for great conversation. I was expecting to have staff looking over my shoulder telling me not to touch, but it wasn’t like that at all. Great place to window shop while in NYC, i’ll go again next time i’m there.
Bergdorf Goodman is either a mess or perfect. The deciding factor is, are you a client of Alexander’s? There are other good people at BG, but in my opinion without Alexander or Lynn or one of the gals on the fourth floor, the store is mostly inaccessible. I’ve been a BG devotee for over a decade and that is thanks to Alex. He is the perfect person for luxury shopping, and he has shown me what hides behind the doors. It’s a magical world of textiles, history, art and SHOES! Brunello Cucinelli sneakers, more precisely.
Bergdorf Goodman use to be known as one of the most elite Department stores to shop at for high end luxury products. Not only do I shop there personally, but for clients as well. There online shopping and shipping department is terrible. The customer service is unexceptable. I placed a order and selected to have the item shipped to NYC Mens store location. The item was shipped but returned back to warehouse in TX because they stated the shipment address was incorrect. How does your system enter your own company address wrong? I called immediately spoke to a representative who partnered up with her Manager to assure me that once my item was shipped back to Texas they would coordinate with the shipping Department in Texas and send it back next day. That did not happen 3 days later I received a email stating that my order had been canceled. Mind you this product is out of stock. So you messed up my order and them sold my item and it was the last one. I called back again and was told she could see all of the notes and was not sure why this happened. This is level 1 service and extremely unprofessional. Needless to say I will be closing my cc account and no longer shopping here for myself nor my clients.
I have received go yard bag as a gift from my girlfriend about year and half ago. I started using this bag about a year ago. And I noticed the bag print started to fade. I have thrown the box and the receipt. My girlfriend tried calling the store also and no success. I have left 2messages to go yard department manager and no response. Wanted to check to see if possible to repair the bag. This is not what you expect from the well known store. Not impressed!!!!
Not the best online shopping experience. Poor at notifying you when your order will ship. You have to contact them after waiting several business days for any type of notification. Then they change the ship date after telling you another ship date. The product is nice so when you spend money at their price point you expect better service.
The experience in the restaurant it was the worst. We order tea and things to eat with the tea, they brought the tea first and 45 minutes after the food at this time the tea it was cold, we ask about that and the waiter only said always takes time. Expensive and the worst experience. Not recommend at all.
This store is eclectic. A must see. Everything you can imagine and more. Just love the decor, if only to admire. The restaurant is a hidden oasis waiting for that special occasion to celebrate in the heart of New York City. The food and wine is excellent and the waitstaff is top notch. Make reservations and bring your credit card.
While Goodman’s across the street has always been a pleasant experience, this location was a miserable experience. The associates were literally fighting for commission right in front of me and TO ME. We came to the department store for ease of access to the brands we like, but I’d rather go boutique-by-boutique or shop online than revisit this location.
I went with my family --the girls... grandmother, mother, the nieces the sisters... looking to buy things. All the staff were extremely snobby and snooty and trying to cater to younger crowd which I dont understand because women over 30 have a higher cash flow and we know better what we want!! This was a big turn off. One sales woman kept ignoring my 80 year old mother. We peacefully walked out because we were annoyed over it. Ive been in sales all my life and have worked in fancy hotels and fancy restaurants and know I know you put on air for the rich people; but people that sometimes come in just regular jeans sometimes they open up their wallets and lo and behold though have thousands of dollars of bills. You really should never judge a book by its cover.
Probably the iconic windows you were looking for. Super high-end luxury department store, carrying everything from fashion staples to styles, with its own restaurant with gorgeous views of Central Park to keep you shopping and satisfied. Overall, I think the sales staff is accustomed to tourists, and are slightly better at being polite and helpful. The layout is well-designed to highlight and simplify the shopping experience without overwhelming. Generally it is quite clean and orderly. If you want to spend a lot of money, this could be a place to do that.
WORST SHOPPING EXPERIENCEI waited for half year to get the beauty event which can take you 200 off when you spend 1000. I placed my order through phone call. Then the sales sent me the wrong items and I asked for exchange, but she told me all the options I want were out of stock. I waited for two weeks, then sent wrong items back. They decreased my event gift card because I returned the wrong items. However, I checked with both online chat and phone service, both of them told me I should get back the exact money I paid for everything with the discount price. The Bergdorf Goodman New York store does not follow their rules which other service told me should be the same as stores saying they have different rules. Plus there is no documents and any instructions to prove the different rule she told me. Have no idea what I did wrong? Because I sent back the wrong items??? Worst shopping experience ever have.
This place is a museum of beautiful excess. If you need to kill some time and feel under accomplished there is no place better. Joking aside, it is an amazing sight.Who looks at reviews of Bergdorf? Go here if you need to spend $17,500 on an embroidered rabbit statue and options are important. Bring your children for a game of pocketbook Russian roulette!Tip: there is a cafe on the top floor. It has a great menu. The prices are high, but not horrible.
Most beautiful collection of things to wear from clothes, shoes, sunglasses, bags, items for entertaining and gifts. Great food at their restaurant with views of Central Park upstairs. Very clean bathrooms. Beautiful beauty salon.I take my time to decide so I do not have to return anything.
Their Mens store lives up to its reputation with a friendly staff that is not overbearing and allows you time to wander and answer any questions you may have. I allow myself about 20 minutes in a store and if I havent found something or a sales consultant within that time, Im not going to buy anything. Wherever you shop, these people are knowledgeable and will make your experience much simpler. Ive never had to set foot inside Hermès, Saks or Tiffany, because I rely without question, on their sales professionals to find me what I want with very little effort. Bergdorfs provides the same great service, if you cannot shop in person. Not everything is expensive, I was able to find a house brand leather belt and some casual shirts at a price I was comfortable with.
Always had great experience visiting this store. Nice and fancy store. The sale staff is so helpful and cooperative. All the best brands can be found here.Best place to eat and enjoy your meal. The servers are always attentive and friendly even if the place is crowded. Will visit again soon!
Purchased a gift on a trip to New York and found out that I had gotten the wrong size, went back 3 months later to exchange for the right size and the staff was not helpful at all despite the fact that the item was unused, in perfect condition in its original packaging and, and I just wanted a different size.For items with such ridiculously high prices, I was hoping for better service. I won’t be buying anything here again because I know that they don’t have my back.
Staff was paying more attention to their cell phones and private conversations than the customers. I guess they dont get paid on commission but should be retrained to be more attentive. No customer equal no paycheck. One shining spot, the window displays were AMAZING. Love the creativity.
Customer service manager, Jane, extension 4384, was extremely rude and insulting. She insinuated that I was exchanging $1,000.00 Louboutin shoes, for which I agreed to pay full price, for a discount. I had to return two pair because they were damaged and never once asked for a discount. She referenced the fact that I’m from West Virginia, which seemed to be a slight and/or attack as to my intentions. I have bought all of my wife’s shoes here; however, I will no longer be a return customer. Buyer beware!
The tea had a great view and very nice ambiance. We had a reservation but still had to wait around 30 minutes which was annoying. The waiter was really really nice and the tea and food was good. We got a $25 gift certificate tho to use at the shops. The customer service at the shops was amazing. Soo friendly and helpful! :)
Came to see Ashley Longshore paintings and those didn’t disappoint... but I have to say the Palette cafe was rough around the edges. Servers were poorly trained and I cut my meal short when I really wanted another drink and desert because it took 30 minutes for someone to come back around to my table. The main level of this store, where you come in off the street, is beautiful. You’re greeted with friendly staff and lovely handbags/jewelry. The other floors are in rough shape with severly stained/nasty carpet and lighting/decor from the 80’s. I had expected the store to be very chic and a nice experience, but it clearly hasn’t been updated/renovated in 30 years. The top level with the home decorative items was the most poorly neglected.

She stayed after closing to help me place my order and has responded to email inquiries outside of work hours on Saturday evening and even on days when she is technically off work. She is smart, professional, responsible and hard-working. A true GEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
One of the worst customer service experiences and ratings in what is supposed to be a “high-end” retailer. I’ve read reviews about both online and in person shopping experiences that were absolute nightmares but being objective, I wanted to form my own opinion and give Bergdorf a shot. The reviews are not exaggerated which is really sad. This retailer succeeded in carrying a variety of designers and items but failed miserably in their customer service arena. Extremely disappointed.
Kinga at the shoes department is very helpful. Everyone else we encounter was very very rude. I think it shouldnt matter how much are the products the reps should be nice. However if youre spending 1000s, maybe be a little extra nice. But they were rude. Not helpful. Rejected to bring a new sunglasses, but selling the one on the display and insisted. Two ladies. 600 for a sunglasses, do we have to explain that I want a brand new one, not the one everyone try and drops. The attitude should change.Otherwise, a big selection of designer goodies.
You cant afford anything here, but it is worth going in to see how the other half shops. There seems to be more floor staff than shoppers and the rooms are cubby - like. Drop crumbs to get out.That having been said - there are lovely items here and helpful people.It goes without saying that they gift New York City their windows....there is nothing comparable: they set the gold standard.
Is this a museum? No, its just a fashion powerhouse with all of the top name brands you may or may not have heard of, but if youre into fashion then you need to know. They have shoes that belong in museums, with their exceptional artistic design. If you are looking for real fashion, and not just cookie cutter recycled styles that are equivalent across all of the lower brand stores and their competitors (such as forever 21 and h&m). The prices match, so dont expect any affordable bargain prices here. Thats not the kind of place this is.
I had a wonderful shopping experience at the Charlotte Tilbury and Louboutin cosmetics counters with Douglas and Kyla/Lonnie respectively. They were all extremely patient with myself and my friend, making recommendations and trying several products on us both. We both walked away with products we loved but our conversation when we left was all about how wonderful the actual shopping experience was. I would return anytime!!
I did not purchase a bridal gown from Bergdorf but I did visit the bridal salon in NYC on a few occasions to try on dresses. I am leaving this review because of the outstanding service that was shown by the ladies at Bergdorf, in particular Stacey. She was so kind, understanding and willing to work with me. I visited numerous bridal salons in NYC and NJ and Stacey and Bergdorf was by far the best bridal consultant that I met with! If you are looking for a bridal gown, then I would definitely visit Stacey at Bergdorf Goodmans Bridal Salon!
I would have given it a star only if their merch was disappointing. Customer service there is not the best, sales people are not very friendly, perhaps they check what you wear? I like their merch of Accesories especially. But unfortunately I always need to get some help physically otherwise nobody would come. They would rather stand together and chat especially on the shoes department.
My experience with Goodman mall was mediocre. They shipped a used shoes to me.I was having a good time when I tried on the shoes and made a decision on the color. I bought the Dior Jadior Suede Heels Pumps and asked them to mail to my house. When it came, the shoes was the one in the showroom and a lot of people already wore it. I thought the size was sold out I didnt call them either because I need that shoes for an event.This summer when I came again, the same color and same size still exist.I wonder why they shipped a used one instead of a new size to me?
I dont get her too often, except to look in the windows! Its gotten more expensive than it ever was! Who can afford to spend 7000 on a dress? I certainly cant, fun to look and the windows are dreamy, beautiful store, great staff but not for you, unless you work at a Hedge Fund.
If you are not white and look like a moving dollar sign, don’t bother going in there. The doorman gives you looks and the sales rep automatically assume that you are one of those tourists who don’t speak English, won’t ask questions and will buy a lot of things in bulk within a matter of minutes. If you don’t fit into their stereotype and have a legitimate question about their product, turns out they are impotent to answer and get real rude real fast: they rolled their eyes, sighed, and one of them even stormed off in the middle of a conversation.Never have I had a more unpleasant makeup shopping experience. Will go to Barney’s for all future cosmetics purchase in the future.
My first visit hereBeing here was such a spectacular experience.The bottom floors are reminiscent of a department store like Nordstrom but as you go up the floors, my goodness!, I fell in love! Mainly, with the couture floor (of course 🙄).The Dior and Gucci palors were my favorite and I am still eyeing an Oscar de la Renta dress that was so perfectly designed to cover up those problem areas while showing just the right amount of skin.I think I found my new home ❤️ 👗Aside from the random vendors at the bottom of the stairs hustling to get people to buy perfumes (clearly not regular Bergdorf staff), this was perfect!!!It was so good to start a relationship with Jill in Dior and Mimi in Akris. I highly recommend both.Is this heaven?
This is the most terrible shopping website I ever meet. After I placed the order, I got an email confirmation. HOWEVER, I never got any shipping information, order change information or something. After 3 weeks, I called to them. The customer service told me that they did not ship out my order because it is the first time that I shopping on their website and they have a lot things to review???? Okay, fine. As I want to exchange my size and do not want to wait another 3 weeks. I placed a new order and cancel the old one on phone. HOWEVER, it did not ship out AGAIN. After 2 weeks, I called them again, and they told me because my address need to verify, and they did not ship out. I think its so ridiculous, because I never got any email or call that I have address problem. Fine, I verified my address and they told me that I can get my dress after 2 days. THEN, it did not ship out AGAIN. I called them again, and they told me that they already sold out and I have to wait, and they do not know WHEN THEY CAN SHIP OUT!!! OMG! I finally canceled my order and decided that I wont buy anything on this ridiculous website with the worst customer service.
I hate this store!! I LOVE the brands inside but the staff looks at mostly everyone (unless you are dressed in head to toe Prada with a little chihuahua stuffed in your purse) as if you are not good enough to be there.They have every brand you can think of though, and it is a great place to find exactly what you need.Id recommend this to anyone who can take a on a glaring look from all staff and to the person who can dish out a bunch of attitude

2022-08-16We went here for the tea time. It was so mid. The sandwiches and deserts were okay. I am from San Francisco and there’s a tea place there that is the best place ever. I guess maybe it made me have high standards but I wouldn’t go back again. The tea was good but it wasn’t worth the price.

2022-06-04Bergdorf has gone downhill over the years. Service was a joke. I received a gift wrapped moncler shoes and the box was damaged. I want to exchange an Hermes lipstick and it couldn’t be done. Very disappointing experience overall. Will not shop there again.

2022-02-09Bergdorf Goodman shipped a S Veronica Beard tee shirt instead of a XS Carolina Herrera cardigan. Then, they made a mess of sending the correct item despite making the request to send the correct item three times. Make sure you dont save your payment information on the website. The customer service is atrocious by text, by email and by telephone. Bergdorf Goodman does not deserve your dollars.I made a second purchase by telephone. It went OK. I had to return three items, two by the same label for poor fit, one I really wish had worked but it just didnt.

2021-09-17I just bought a cashmere Coat here… never again! I felt it came from the thrif store… not only that gift wrapping is complimentary over $700 but i paid for it —spending over $3k- but the coat came wrong size —after spending over an hour with their associates- and i came a wrinkled ball, and not even on a garment bag! Please if uou dont need my business let me know and go buy it at the brownbag store or at 5th for better treatment. Merci, la gerance!
