Besito Mexican Restaurant in other cities:
Food was yummy and service was great… BUT they are definitely on Pandemic pricing! It was expensive for an app and tacos! $$$ is a more appropriate price range on Google.1 Mojito, 1 app and 1 meal = $70 w/tip for 2 people. Way to much for a shrimp empanada app and a sad portion of chicken tacos w/rice & beans. Drink was weak so it gets 1 star for the drink. App was suitable for 1 as a small meal. They also meed a handicapped entrance clearly marked. So sorry but eating out is just not worth the price anymore.
Came here for lunch today, was seated at a table by the bar. 20 minutes goes by and we are still not greeted by a server. A table that walks in 10 minutes after us is greeted and served drinks and we had still not even been acknowledged. 6 Seats at the bar opened up so we figured we could sit at the bar for possibly better service. The bartender told us we couldn’t sit there and people were waiting for those seats, meanwhile we had been waiting at a table for 20 mins and not even acknowledged or asked what we wanted to drink. We ended up waking out after almost a half hour of being ignored
The restaurant was busy but unfortunately service was incredibly slow. Several tables were frustrated by the lack of service and attention. It took 3 hours for appetizers and dinner, albeit with a larger table, it was still an hour longer than expected. The food was okay, but not so outstanding that I would go again given the wait times. Portions and pricing are reasonable.
Had a whole tray of ice waters for 7 people spilt into my lap. The lady apologized and I reassured her it was okay however you would think my meal or at least something would get taken off the bill after they completely soaked me. Also the manager did not come out to apologize which I found odd. Portions are small and food was okay. Only reason I’m giving two stars instead of one is because the drinks were good.
Wandered in late on a Thursday for a lite supper. Not cheap but very good. Worth the extra $$$ over typical Mexican fare. Guacamole was excellent, as were the crispy shrimp tacos. Mixtos fajitas were great. Very tasty, nice skirt steak, chicken and a very delicious chorizo. Could have eaten a bowl of the Pico de Gallo alone. Very cozy and earthy interior, but metal bar area was impressive and overall feel was upscale. Beautiful vines covering exterior. First time here and first time out in a long time. Kids graduation party was nearby and followed Google reviews here.
Service was excellent! No complains about the waitress or servers, they did a great job! However food was very over priced, drink were mostly ice. I am ok paying for food when I go out as long as I am pleased and satisfied and even tho this was an invitation from my friend his wife and kids It hurt me to see the bill to what we got. Not sure if Besito In Huntington still the same as back in the day but this one is for sure not where near the besito I remember. Very disappointed. Thanks to the servers for making it up with great service.
We went for my boyfriend’s birthday dinner. The food was amazing! And they even gave us these little figurines at the end of the dinner to take hime with (aren’t they so cute?!). The only thing that we didn’t like was at the beginning one of the waiter who seated us said our reservation is only good for 1.5 hours. We felt kind of rushed even though there was well enough time to finish. But had we gotten dessert or an appetizer, then I do not think 1.5hrs is enough. Anyways, that’s just a small detail. The food and atmosphere are sooooo good so I would not pass on this place just because of the service.
Dominic was a pleasure to speak with. Very helpful and made sure our meal was going well. Delicious food, good service, great drinks. Parking is valet however come a bit early and you wont need Valet. Great ambiance of a place and can get crowded. We were leaving and it was just getting crowded. However, great place. Definitely recommend.
If youre looking for dinner, drinks, or brunch, stop looking. Besito is AMAZING. The staff is friendly and knowledgable, the food is delicious, and the prices are worth what youre getting, in my opinion. I would absolutely recommend Besito to everyone, and I will most definitely be back. Now I just have to find a place for my growing Mexican worry doll collection.
Might be our new favorite restaurant in the Babylon area. Attentive staff and lots of little extras that made the meal special. And everything was delicious: guacamole, pork tacos, chilaquiles, enchiladas suizas...mmmm. Sunday brunch until 3 or so with 2-for-1 specialty drinks.
First off, I would like to start my review off with my opinion of Mexican Food. I have no issues with Mexican Food but I never thought of it as a cuisine that can be upscale and interesting. Wow did this place prove me wrong. My girlfriend has been raving about this place since I met her so she made reservations on a Sunday evening. When entering the restaurant it has a very authentic Mexican feel. Ambiance was really nice even for close seating. We were lucky that it wasnt super busy. Their guacamole was literally the best I have ever eaten. I ordered a filet mignon steak dish that I have no idea what was on it but I can tell you it was one of the top 10 meals I have ever eaten in my 43 years on this earth. The mexican street corn was also amazing and must order side dish that would compliment any meal. Do yourself a favor, go eat there. You wont be disappointed.
I went to the Besito Mexican on July 10th in the afternoon. I have received a warm welcome at the entrance. The waitress was also knowledgeable while detailing the menu. The service was perfect. The valet was very kind. Definitely a place to come back.I have came back many times and I can say tonight March 18th 2022. I am still receiving, the warm welcome, professionalism and good caring from the waitress, thanks to Heidi. Food are very delicious. If you are in the South Side. Please make a stop here and you wont regret it.
Im not much for Mexican food, as I have a sensitive stomach, but I had a chicken taco. It was fresh and tasted good. The waitress was very nice and helpful, and so was management. But the menu was limited in variety and I usually enjoy a Burrito. It wasnt listed. Anyway, if one is into Mexican food, its good. I only went there for a friend. The outdoor seating is in a beautiful area w enjoyable music. 🤠😀
This was the second time I was there,I found the music was too loud and the waitress took a half an hour to get a drink.I finally got up and went and got it myself. The place was not even crowed. And the waitresses never came back to see if everything was ok.Ill probably never go back again.
I took my best friend there for her bday and we throughly enjoyed ourselves. We dined outside which was better in my opinion as inside can tend to be a bit chilly. Nonetheless, our waitress was attentive. Our food was DELICIOUS (needed a bit of salt and pepper on the chicken though) and our drinks couldve been a bit stronger (hence the 4 stars as opposed to 5). Its been a while since we dined there, but we will DEFINITELY be back 😀!
It was my first time there. I had the Arrachera which was absolutely amazing! It is a skirt steak with arugula, roasted corn, pomegranate vinaigrette and queso fresco cheese. I ordered it without the cheese I prefaced it with a classic margarita made with Patrón. The atmosphere was good as was the service.Im not that familiar with Mexican cuisine. I ordered based on a friends recommendation and explanation. I think the menu could benefit with a short explanation of ingredients.I would definitely go back and order what I had again. It was that good.
Restaurant was beautifully presented. it’s very appealing to the eye. however food portions were very small for the prices. As well as seasoning could be improved. guacamole was very bland. but they do offer free chips with salsa as well as free churros.i would recommend going for the drinks.
The Besito margaritas are wonderful. It takes me a while to finish ANY drink so by the end, its just not as good... Not the case with this delicious concoction. It was wonderful all the way to the end. If youre still reading, the food is fresh, phenomenal and so full of flavor just throw out the salt and pepper. Cant wait to go back
Oh Besito you’ve done it again. My Fiancé and I had an amazing experience / dinner. The staff was extremely polite and accommodating. They went noticeably above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. We come here often and this most recent visit was made really special. The manager Alex & server Andrea we’re simply amazing. They are great at what they do and will be coming back very soon. The food is always delicious, it’s the best Mexican food on Long Island in my opinion.
We were really excited, the food... the drinks... the service? The only two workers that were nice were the hostess and the busboy! I’m really disappointed of the food, Hispanic food always has flavor... this food NOTHING. The portion of the plates... a joke. PLEASE put a little bit seasoning in your chicken and at least have more dressings options. Good luck! You’re going to need it.
Such an excellent experience here. We didn’t have a reservation after spending the day at Robert Moses, but we were able to sit at the bar. The restaurant has an upscale feel inside along with tip-only valet outside (as well as a few outdoor seating arrangements). Bathrooms are clean and roomy — the decor is great in that it’s subdued albeit Mayan/Oaxacan.The food was glorious and TOO MUCH OF IT!! We got:: guacamole, salmon entree with plantains (delicious) and rice/beans, and I got a quesadilla appetizer (which was filling as a meal). So good!! In the medium price range and the staff were lovely. Although masked, they were chatty with us and it made for a nice time. They even gave us little Mexican wishing dolls for under our pillows!
Besito was always my restaurant of choice for my monthly gal pal dinner. We went there last night at 5 and dined inside. Disappointed to see they no longer carry my favorite crab dish. They also serve the rice in beans which are very good, but the quantity of beans was 1/3 of the usual. Cutting back on beans?? Seriously.. Our waitress was very nice and attentive but it got very annoying when 3 others would come and check on us every 5 minutes. So unnecessary, it was very difficult to hold a conversation with the constant interruptions. I counted we were interrupted 22 times. I realize the dining room was empty, but seriously, 22 times? It would have been enough at 4 times by our waitress. We will be moving our monthly gal pal dinner to another location. Shame.
Initially had reservations for outside seating, was very disappointed to see that the outdoor area was the part of the parking lot directly on the busy road and that they had you sitting at picnic tables. This is a classy, upscale place you shouldnt be sitting on picnic tables with no overhead cover on a Dusty road. Luckily got a spot at the bar the service food and drinks were great
This place is really not worth all the hype to be honest. The food was not bad, it was okay. However, the prices that they charge definitely do not justify the taste of the food. An order of tacos was almost 30 dollars and they only provided 4 tortillas. Would not consider this to be authentic Mexican food and wouldn’t recommend unless you don’t mind subpar food for high prices.
My family of 4 was seated in a small table outside which I understand because it was packed and we were moved when the opportunity came, the outside seating was poorly lit. The food here is decent, I ordered the mixed tacos, my little brother order the steak quesadilla, both my parents ordered the steak tacos, the tortillas that came with the tacos were to small and the cheese that with the tacos I did not enjoy the rubber like texture I can speak on the rest of my family but my parents had the same complaint about the tortillas
Found this place while visiting the area and what a treat it was! Excellent service and the food was expertly prepared. The Chilean Sea Bass prepared Eldorado style was the very best Chilean Sea Bass dish I have ever had. When we visit this area in the future Besito will be at the top of the restaurant list.
The food was very good but unfortunately the service was not great. We were told as soon as we sat down that we could only have the table for 1 1/2 hours for a party of four which is really rushing it. Well we got our drinks and ordered an appetizer. Then we ordered our food (street tacos) which somehow came out in less than 10 minutes from ordering. They didn’t waste anytime. Then as soon as they saw us put our forks down they were there cleaning the table. Immediately after lifting the last dish they brought over four mini churros and sang happy birthday to one of the girls at the table. They never asked if anyone wanted coffee, tea or dessert or another drink. As soon as she blew the candle out the waitress handed us the Bill without seeing if we wanted anything else. We paid the Bill and the birthday girl was finishing her margarita. Well they really wanted us out and we were just about at the 1 1/2 hour mark. The busboy came over and asked me if I was done with my water glass I said yes so he took it and another girl was still drinking her water. She was taking a sip, put her glass in the table and the bus boy took it and she wasn’t done with it. We jokingly said they were throwing us out with the busboy there but we really felt they were. It was only 9:00 and we counted 4 empty tables and no one was waiting for a table. We definitely would have had another drink and some coffee if we could have ordered. So unfortunately the food was good but the experience was not. For four moms that get out once in a blue moon to celebrate a birthday this may not have been the place to relax since we were so rushed and felt as though we were getting kicked out.
We werent told until after we had made our reservation and had been seated that they were not serving dessert and did not have coffee anymore. It was difficult to get a drink bearing in mind that they had limited resources. I advised the manager to create a drink based on things that I saw on the menu. That drink was the saving grace of our meal. We asked for our guacamole to be spicy and it came out mild, which was disappointing but they remade it correctly. We ordered a couple of other things, which all came out pretty good. The steak was cooked to perfection and not overdone. The plantanos were perfect. The flavor was on point. I sometimes find myself dreaming of the rice with pumpkin seeds. Even on its own, its one of my favorite things in this place.
I visited this restaurant recently for an anniversary dinner. We were seated near the front door and adjacent to the bar. It was drafty, there was a lot of traffic passing our table, and people were seated at the bar. To me it was not a well thought out seating arrangement for two people celebrating an anniversary. In addition, we ordered the guacamole appetizer and it was extremely salty. The evening was saved with delicious entrees! I attempted to provide feedback of the evening through the OpenTable review and feedback to restaurant option, as well as feedback through the Besito website. I did not receive any follow up. It was disappointing. The experience was disappointing and surprising because the restaurant has great reviews. I don’t know what happened that evening.
The best mexican food I have ever had on Long Island!!! It was my first time here and we were so blown away. Everything was amazing - the drinks, apps, entrees, ambiance, and service. Javier was our bartender and he was the best!! He was taking care of the entire bar himself and was killing it at service bar. As a fellow bartender I could tell he knew what he was doing. My boyfriend and I will definitely be back!!!
Excellent! Lots of food & drinks & price was fair! I had the Sonora ribs and they were so full of flavor, and fall off the bone tender, absolutely delicious. I wish they had a larger bar because you find yourself waiting in the middle of the dining room standing awkwardly if you arrive a few minutes early. But highly recommend.
Great place on top of their game. The managers walk around watching everything. Our Deseret was slightly delayed we didn’t say anything the managers noticed and gave us free desert. We used to go to the one in Huntington then we realized there is one in west islip and we are glad we tried the one in west islip. Great service great food!!!
Warm, welcoming & comfortable. Pleasant helpful staff. Food was excellent. Recommend getting guacamole for the table, made to order tableside. Serve fresh warm tortilla chips & salsa as you are seated. Food is excellent. Entire party of 4 quite happy Recommend the fish tacos.
I am very disappointed to be writing this review because I always loved besito. I have been to all the other locations and I expected nothing less last night. I was celebrating my recent engagement with a very close friend of mine, and as soon as we arrived from the start of our meal I felt rushed. Our waiter kept coming back constantly to ask us if we wanted to order dinner when we just started eating our appetizer. A different waiter came up during that time to ask us if we needed help reading the menu, then came back again asking us if we wanted a hard copy. I looked around and not one of the other tables were getting rushed like we were. The waiters were also being pushy about getting more drinks, and frankly I wasnt going to spend any more money with that type of service. I will not be returning to this location, but I hope that this message is received well so no other guests will have the same experience I did.
Today was my first time at Besito’s Restaurant. I went to have dinner with my parents and sister because today is my birthday. It was the best choice I could’ve made, I loved it. Friendly Staff specially Freilyn, he was very attentive and active. I loved it!!! Food was delicious, service was amazing and environment was phenomenal. Sin duda alguna, highly recommend it!!
Besito Mexican Restaurant was the best! The food was fabulous! We have had Curbside service two times and the food was just as fabulous. Everything was labeled and packed carefully. The margaritas were as delicious as usual! We had a wonderful birthday dinner! Thank you,!!
As a Hispanic I would not recommend this place as it’s very American washed if you know what I mean. The food was okay nothing crazy. It’s way too overpriced for what they give you $27 something for tacos I have to make myself ? With 4 tiny tortillas no thank you. Please save your money and go eat at an actual Mexican restaurant bc this one is not that.
Upon arriving to Besito, the host station was unattended (because they were helping someone else), but we walked up to the bartender who very kindly found him so that he could seat us right away. After walking in, we noticed how beautiful the decor was and how each component worked together to create a romantic space. We chose to dine here for our 3 year anniversary and we both agree that it was the perfect romantic setting for the occasion. The restaurant wasn’t too classy, but definitely wasn’t laid back either - we’d say it had a “candle-lit” romantic atmosphere. Our waitress took our drink orders right away & just a minute after she went to grab our waters, our complimentary chips had arrived! The evening we chose to dine at Besito’s, we were one of three couples in the venue - we arrived at 9:30pm on a Wednesday. Once we placed our orders, our appetizers came out right away (shrimp empanadas)! After we finished our empanadas, our entree & side came out just a few minutes after (iron skillet chicken taco & street corn). The food was absolutely phenomenal and we would definitely recommend all of the dishes we chose — I’m going to assume everything else on the menu was great as well! All of the ingredients as well as the sauces tasted so fresh! The portion sizes were also perfect & we actually needed some to-go containers because we didn’t want anything to go to waste! The entire crew was amazing! Our main waitress was very pleasant! She greeted us with a cheerful tone and made sure she checked on us every few minutes - without being too overbearing or pushy. She actually even refilled our water cups after they closed! The bartender, bus-girl, and host were also very kind and made our experience very enjoyable with their warm smiles! Last, but not least, was the music! The music was great, the volume wasn’t too loud but wasn’t at a whisper and really set the tone for the evening. The song selection was very nice as well. We’d give this spot overall a 10/10 rating! We’ve even ranked it one of our best restaurant experiences ever and we’ve been to a lot of great spots all over the world.
TREATED FAMILY LIKE ANIMALS!!! Walked in at 4pm on a Sunday afternoon. Plenty of available tables, plenty of parking. Snooty teenage hostess asked if we had a reservation. We said we did not (It was 4pm on on a Sunday and the place was not overflowing). Manager came over and told us that we could indeed have the honor of dining in their establishment but we would have to hurry up and be out by 5:15. Because at 5:15 the people with reservations would be arriving. I have never been spoken to by a restaurant staff in such an insulting manner in my life. “Hurry up, eat and get out before the important people come”. We walked out.I will never drop one penny of my hard earned money in any Besito restaurant location. I have never been so insulted in my life and I will make it a point to condemn this restaurant whenever and wherever I can because it is a pretentious and nasty Mexican joint that thinks it is something more than it is. Unreal. Get over yourself Besito.
To be fair, I am not a big fan of Mexican food. The food was good. The service was very good, any questions were answered and any changes were promptly taken care of. There was a great selection of entrees. I had a hard time picking. I actually got the special, which was yummy. The drinks were good as well. The bar is very small. It was a little too noisy for my liking because It had hard surfaces everywhere and was busy. Reservations are needed during busy times for restaurants, we went Saturday night at 5. On a slower night I think I would like it better.
Went to Besito in West Islip tonight to catch up with a friend I haven’t seen in a while. From the second we sat at the table, I felt as if the waiter was rushing us to put our drink and food order in. We were under the impression that the restaurant closed at 10 as per Google hours for today and that would have given us 2.5 hours to dine comfortably. Every time we would tell the waiter when he came back to the table we weren’t ready yet because we were catching up, it would only be minutes later until he would come back again to rush us. There was even a point when he sent another waiter to ask us to put our order in. Other tables and couples came in after our reservation time and we watched as the waiter only harassed my friend and I and not the other tables to eat and leave. When we finished our meal, the waiter quickly handed us our check and never asked if we even wanted coffee or dessert. Once he placed the check down, atleast a minute later came back and grabbed the check book from our table when we didn’t even open it yet. The whole experience felt rushed and uncomfortable. I will NEVER come back to this location, and perhaps this chain AGAIN. I will tell ALL of my family and friends that frequently dine at this establishment to NEVER come here again. Such a shame
Great food, ate a ton. Margaritas were strong and delicious. Place was crowded but we knew it was going to be. Had a reservation and got there on time, was seated after a five minute wait. Not bad. Had a few appetizers, the tableside guacamole, both not spicy and medium spicy. Both were great, and then we got the classic fundido which was very cheesy with no spice. I ordered the pork street tacos. They had a little spice but I liked it. The other people at the table got a Mexican salad with grilled chicken and I had a little plate envy. Everyone I was with had no complaints and it was a party of 8. Food was great. Even had churros given to us when served the check which were hot and sugary. Great ending to the meal. Would definitely recommend, but if you go on national Margarita day, make reservations.
My husband and I have been going to Besito since they opened. We decided to go there over the weekend. Before we even sat down, we were told we only have an hour and 20 minutes. That’s fine and I understand that they want to get as many people in as possible and they don’t want people lingering. Anyway, we got the guacamole and it’s not as delicious as I remember. Also, they removed my husband’s favorite dish from the menu. It was the crab boudin. They also aren’t serving dessert. That would have been good to know beforehand. Overall, it was kind of womp womp
The food was pretty good. The restaurant was loud and overcrowded. The Classic Margaritas were very good. I ordered chicken and steak combo, but it was smothered in melted cheese. The side dish was a chopped green bean and tomatoe salad, not a fan. The rice and black bean were okay, but some of the beans were still hard. This was my second time there. I dont think I would go back because it was very expensive.
Tonight was my third time there and as always I left saying “that was amazing”. Phenomenal food, great service and the best margarita around. Our waitress Denia was so attentive and pleasant. She made us feel so welcome. And the food is always top notch. Can’t wait to go back.
This Mexican restaurant was very nice. Dark atmosphere, the waitress was very warm and welcoming. She had a great smile as she spoke. The food was good. The Mojitos were yum. The avocado dip was soooooo good. They have valet. It was a higher end type Mexican restaurant. It was packed. I recommend it!
This restaurant is cozily tucked off the main road in Islip. As soon as you walk in you step into a warm and very elegant ambiance. Seemed like the secret is out on this place because there was a nice crowd for a late Tuesday evening. I normally rank a place based on a lot of factors and this place definitely has potential to be a perfect 5 stars but I had to be critical of the fact that the cocktails we ordered, one of them their signature drink, were not that good. Also, the server was raving about how good the guacamole is but it was equally underwhelming, couldve used more citrus. And lastly, by the time we ordered food it was close to 9 PM and the crowd was starting to thin out, yet the cook time on our food seemed to take longer than need be, a little over 20 minutes, as well the menu prices are a little high. That being said, the service was perfect!! Our waitress was very informative, charismatic, and found it easy to have conversations with us about life in general. The head manager came and personally served us a complimentary sweet potato taco which was literally the best taco Ive ever had!! And the food runner was very polite and professional in his delivery of our meals. The food?! To die for!! Absolutely amazing!! These recipes and those chefs are really doing something special in that kitchen. I had the most flavorful and tender skirt steak Ive ever eaten in my entire life!! It will be the reason I return!! They also have a very unique menu and I have a feeling everything else is equally as amazing!! With service and food that good, its easy to overlook the lackluster guacamole and cocktails, wait time, and prices and very hard not to give them 5 stars!! Good job guys and thank you for an amazing experience!!
Portions are a good size for appetizers and dinner portions. Everything is very flavorful. The Mexican street corn is just the best, I could eat a whole bowl of just that. We have been for dinner and lunch, both times the service was great, very attentive without being in your face. We cant wait to go back again!
We went here when they first opened because we enjoyed the Huntington location, and this location was much closer to home. At that time things were a little touch and go, which is typical for a new restaurant, so we gave them a bit. We recently went and were happy to find the same delightful experience we got at the Huntington location, and would recommend this place to anyone. It certainly is some of the best Mexican food on Long Island, and the people who work there strive to make your experience as pleasant as possible.
Tonight was my third time there and as always I left saying “that was amazing”. Phenomenal food, great service and the best margarita around. Our waitress Denia was so attentive and pleasant. She made us feel so welcome. And the food is always top notch. Can’t wait to go back.
The wait was 2 hours.I had to remind the host that we were waiting. The waiter wad very professional and nice. The guacamole and salsa chips was excellent. Its made fresh by your table. The drinks were good. The food not so much. The steak was bland. The fish salty. The ribs was good. We had 5 entrées and we only had 2 small container of rice and beans. It was a nice experience but one visit was good.
Jessica our waitress was terrific. She was very knowledgeable of every item on the menu as well as the details of the nightly specials without reading them. The ceviche special was the best seafood salad I ever had. Everything we ordered was professionally prepared with fresh ingredients and absolutely delicious. We will definitely be returning!
We love Besito in Huntington so when one opened in West Islip we just had to check it out. The space was renovated meticulously and honestly made us feel like we were away in another country out to dinner. The food was excellent. Love the fried sweet plantains always and they have a pumpkin flan to die for. The manager, Jose, greeted us a few times and made sure we had an overall phenomenal experience. Go check it out.
I visited this place last week with my wife and two clients, it was my first time but I had been before in the Roslyn and Huntington locations. The restaurant is a small beautiful house and it was packed. We had our table and very quickly our orders taken, the food came fast and everything was fresh, delicious and nice portions. We noticed the staff wanted to take our plates while we still working and it and it was very uncomfortable being distracted in the middle of the conversation and dinner for this situation. After dessert I asked for my check and it was $400 (4 people), a little priced but everything was delicious. My clients decided to have some drinks but they refused to serve us because they wanted the table, we asked to talk with the manager who for our surprise told us also that they need the table, I explained that we are spending more that $400 and we are clients of the other locations but clearly he doesnt appreciate our business and we left very upset for the way we were treated. I was very disappointed. If you visit the place make sure to eat very fast and dont stay for too long because you will be asked to leave the place.
First time having sunday brunch at Besito and I was impressed. The brunch menu was all reasonably priced, everything we ordered was perfectly cooked and seasoned, and the 2-for-1 margaritas were a nice touch. I would suggest getting a reservation as they can start to fill up.
I’ve been to the besito in Huntington and this location is by far better. Food here was really good. The table side guacamole was really good. Impressed with the waitress whom knew the entire menu and all the ingredients. We almost didn’t come here because of our so-so experience in Huntington, but glad we gave it a shot. Margaritas was good. Nice portions. Tacos are served separate so they should be called fajitas instead.
I love besito! The food is always great, sadly I won’t be returning. They don’t enforce masks! I spoke to the manager more than once because I felt extremely uncomfortable with how close this one table was getting to us and they all weren’t wearing masks. He stated he is not able to enforce masks... didn’t quite understand why that was... anyway if you’d like to dine and stay safe stay clear of this place!

Ive been to all three Besito locations and Ive got to say that this was my favorite (although they are all great). The staff were very friendly and the manager runs the place in a very classy manner. They truly want to make sure that you have a great experience and we did. Great food and great atmosphere! Cant wait to go back!
Delicious dinner with a very attentive and accommodating staff. The managers and all staff make sure you are enjoying every aspect of your meal. They pay attention to the little things because they must know that can make the difference. Very busy and well worth your time. Wash your worries away dolls are a nice touch.
Pricey, the ribs are to die for though. Also I feel like its a little weird for a mexican place to not have orchata maybe Im wrong idk the whole place was super dim I liked that about it except for the fact that the bathroom is almost pitch black, the waitresses know their stuff about the menu, Quesadilla was pretty plain, and if youre guac tastes like straight up avocado its not guac lol overall would only come back for the ribs. But 25 dollars for a plate of ribs? Idk
I wish I could give Besitos in West Islip 5 stars, however I cannot and I’ll explain why. I ordered takeout for Cinco de Mayo and when my husband picked up the food inside he noticed that the worker that gave him our food did not have a mask on.My husband still took the food and bought it back home. We decided not to complain and disregarded it although we were in an active pandemic. I went back today August 7th, 2020, I made a reservation online for 4:45pm for outdoor seating. we arrived on time and were seated , our waiter Denia L. Was very sweet and kind spent her time explaining all the specials to us. We placed our drink and appetizer order once we were finished eating our appetizers she bought us our churros and check. I asked her to see the dessert menu and she said due to the circumstances there was no dessert available at this time. I said ok and asked for one more drink. She brings my drink and the manager comes over to ask for our payment I said it’s not ready yet, he said “just to remind you there is now a state regulation allowing only 1hr and 30 min. For costumers to dine out.” We said ok and paid. As we walked out we noticed a party of 6 in the waiting area with no masks on. I live in this neighborhood and felt no customer appreciation or equality. The 1 hr 30 min regulation was highly enforced on us to the point that it made us uncomfortable but the mask rule was not on the party of 6 in the waiting area. I am a Latina and did not want to make a scene, however I was appalled at how the manger chose what regulations to enforce on his paying customers. Please teach better customer management skills and more compassion towards your paying loyal customers.
Unbelievable experience! Very unassuming quaint place from the outside, but inside it turns up the heat! One of the most knowledgeable, sharp, attentive staff I have been in the company of. The food was fresh and flavorful. Clean and warm atmosphere. If you dont want to sit down for dinner, drinks and guac at the bar would be great as well!
This is a great place for fantastic meal. It can be casual or better. Works for either.Bar eating is also an optionThe table side guacamole is a must ( we all know its the avacados, and Joey, they got the Motz. From start to finish, quality all around. You will not be disappointed.
Although food and service was good, manager pretty much stared at us waiting for us to leave after our meal and check. Here we are, 2 friends, catching up on our lives, and not even an hour and a half on a Monday night, manager tried picking up payment for check after a couple of minutes and then kept hanging by our table and looking at us, waiting for us to leave. This pretty much overruled our dinner. I even mentioned it to the hostess. We picked ourselves up and moved to another restaurant for after dinner drink so we wouldnt feel so pressured to leave. Sorry, but not again will I visit there. We had a right to enjoy our dinner, not cheap but good food and to feel this pressure to leave was unacceptable.
Awful customer service! Waited 30 minutes past the time of pickup giving on their website, they forgot my drink order and placed m on hold when I called to request someone to bring it out to my car. This place is not inexpensive for a restaurant that serves river beans. I would expect a much better service and promptness.. Also not tw first time this happens
We went to Besito last night for my daughters birthday and everything was fabulous, from the hostess at the door to our server. Our server Carlos was awesome. He was so professional and friendly! He knew the menu inside and out and explained the specials perfectly. He was prompt with his service and food came out quickly. We ordered the Bass special and Ceviche special and was absolutely delicious and fresh. They sang Happy Birthday to my daughter and she loved it! The Flan dessert was probably the best Ive ever had highly recommend it! This will be our new fav spot, thank you Carlos for everything!
Babylon, NY: Can’t say enough about this place! Sat @ bar...Bartenders were awesome, especially Stephanie! She was just amazing. Initially, didn’t plan to stay long but atmosphere was awesome and manager was also awesome! He kept checking in to see how we were doing. Definitely impressed on the engagement of the team and of course impressed with the food and drinks!!!❤️ Had the table side guacamole, salmon and my date had the ribs...all simply amazing. Classic and Besito Margaritas were addicting (hats off to Stephanie) and the pumpkin flan omg!! Would definitely recommend this place and staff was so cool!
We had a wonderful dinner and evening and I highly recommend this place, but its not a large place and being so new I would definitely make reservations no matter what night of the week you choose. Of course you must start with the guacamole prepared right in front of you. We followed that up with Margaritas and fajitas. Service, food and drinks were top notch
My wife and I came here during restaurant week. Apart from 2 menu items everything was included in the fixed priced deal - which was amazingly good value. The food was delicious and freshly made. Very generous portions and the service we received was amazing considering there was not a single empty table when we arrived. There is valet parking as well as self park. The location is not very glamourous but inside the decor and food makes up for that short coming. Highly recommend it.
Heard about this place through word of mouth. Went there last night with my husband for my birthday and I was really unimpressed. We got table side guacamole and it wasn’t good. Avocados weren’t ripe and it was super bland. Needed more salt and lime. Our margaritas took FOREVER to get to the table and they weren’t even good. We each got fajitas and they are super small portions and very oily bc they comes with cheese smothered on the skillet. Comes with rice and beans for the “table” which were literally meant for one person each. The atmosphere is super dull. Barely lit with little to no decor. It needs some kind of ventilation in there bc it’s very stuffy and hot. Google asked me how my experience was and I can say after that I’d never go back.
My wife and I went here for her birthday and we couldnt be happier with the experience. The service was excellent, the food was excellent and so was the atmosphere of the whole place. Devin was our server and made our visit great. Highly recommend Besito will be going back many times.
As soon as we walked in the ambience was very relaxing. The first thing we had was the guacamole and wow, it was the best we ever had that we had to get a 2nd order of it! The enchilada and quesadillas did not dissapoint either. They were delicious! We will definitely be coming back and hope to have the same great service Giovanny gave us who made us feel so at home by being so attentive and kind 😊
Actually it should be no stars ... made a reservation for 7pm and was told there was a 40 minute wait meanwhile 7 people were seated 3 different groups while we were standing there. We were offered to sit at the bar where it was already packed . Makes absolutely no sense not worth the trip
Just called to make a reservation and was asked to call back because she was very busy Ive owned my own business and customer service is number one. This wouldve been my 1st time visiting this restaurant but this one experience alone makes me wonder how long ill wait to be seated or wait for my food. Im sorry, but your front desk is your 1st impression. This was a bad 1st impression. No doubt.
Excellent restaurant. Great food and great drinks. Tableside Guacamole is one of the best Ive had. Queso Fundito is a really good appetizer too. I ordered Enchiladas Mixtas it was delicious and my friend ordered El Dorado excellent too. I always get the La Casa Margarita, a frozen drink when I usually dont like frozen drinks but this one is different. Very smooth ice. Pomegranate flavor. There also is never a question if alchohol are in their drinks.
My girl friend who goes to Besito frequently joined me for restaurant week last night. First time here and would 100% return. Had watermelon margaritas, shrimp tacos, chicken enchiladas suizas, and tres leches cake. Everything was fresh, delicious, and filling. I was blown away.
Originally when I first visted this location 3 months ago I had given it an excellent rating. But due to my most recent vist I chose to write this review on yelp and decided to post it here as well.I have visted this location various times and each time I had a relatively good experience, this last time however not so pleasant. First I called to see how long a wait was for a party of 6 they said no wait at all of I go there with the party since I couldnt make a reservation I said okay no problem. My family and I make it to the location and are told by what I assume is a manager that we can be given a table BUT we would have to be finished before 1 hour and 20 minutes (weird right but this isnt the issue). When we were seated we were told by the hostess about their drinks and my father asked her what beers they had and she said they didnt have any, very strange for a resturant we thought.Next we were introduced to our waiter who was fantastic he was patient with us and got our drinks ordered. Everything fine and dandy but then as our waiter left, out of nowhere that same manager (I assume) that sat us down came and asked us for our order. We felt rushed so we put in our orders. Then comes our waiter and asks us if we have any questions with the menu and starts telling us about the specials for the day, we didnt have the heart to stop him as he went on with the list of specials THAT THE MANAGER DIDNT TELL US ABOUT. We had to tell him that our orders were already placed and he looked just as surprised as we did. There were some amazing choices in that specials menu (the menu was vocal btw) but we had no clue. We felt rushed by a specific member of the staff (the maybe manager) and that isnt okay. When people go to restuarants they dont want to feel rushed and have a mediocre time because you want to free the table as soon as possible, we paid just like everyone else. There were things on that specials menu that my family members would have perfered, they felt as if they had to eat something they didnt want because of this reason. Also i asked our waiter what beers they had and turns out they had a whole selection of draft and bottled beers. I am sorry but why are other people doing our waiters job when they are just putting in the bare minimum. Again our waiter was great he was the only positive experience in this restaurant for my family (it was their first time being here). Its hard to say you enjoyed the food when you feel rushed. Take care of your customers.
Told us we had 1 hr 45 min while they were seating us, which is fine...but dropped a check an hour in and tried to refuse offering us dessert or after dinner drinks...even took water away from the table after an hour and fifteen minutes without asking...disgusting service so rushed and then the manager even came over and tried to tell us they have a limit of 1 hr 10 or 1 hr 20 minutes and argued with us when we told him the hostess specifically told us 1 hr 45 when seating us
Great Mexican cuisine, vast tequila menu, excellent margaritas. Saying this location is small is an understatement. They do a wonderful table side guacamole, which is made very awkward by the size of the dining room and closeness of the tables. Also, the low number of tables means make sure you have reservations.
Spectacular. Most authentic Mexican food Ive had since I left Southern California. We ordered a bunch of appetizers and one entree so we could try a bunch of things. The tableside guac was great. The shrimp empinadas were amazing. Every single thing we ordered we enjoyed immensely. I dont typically like desserts, or even order them, but the tres leches was out of this world. The staff an managers were all extremely friendly and attentive. I cant recommend Besito enough
First time visit on our anniversary and they did not disappoint. The staff was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu offerings and specials. Jovany was very pleasant and delivered first class service. Nothing sucked. We started with drinks that were not soft pours and the glavors came through. The tableside guac was very good(not crazy about tomato in it but I survived) the salsa. Was tasty as well. The shrimp empanadas are out of this world delicious! We usually go to Vickys for empanadas but these were OMG! I went with one of the specials..skirt steak and jumbo shrimp on a bed of plantainsbwith a wonderful molé and yummy mexican cheese chunks....a flavor-palooza of deliciousness....wife got the mixta skillet...full of flavor with chorizo steak n chicken and smothered with cheesy goodness! Rice n beans came with(not traditional mexican rice and black beans not refritos)they sent us home with warm and fresh churros....place is on point..a bit pricey for mexican food but this is not typical mexican food. They also have a HUGE tequila menu.
As I Mexican I can’t tell you that this place really taste like home, of course with a few differences but anyway is a good place. The o my thing I didn’t like was that we reserve our table and we had to wait 15 minutes more to get it (without a sit) anyway good service an really good ambient.
This was one of the best meals Ive ever had. When I saw that Besito was coming to West Islip I got so excited, I knew I had to go check it out. I made a reservation (because driving past it every day it always looks so crowded) for last night and it was the best choice I made. My fiancee and I walked in for our 6:30 reservation and were seated right away, no wait, nothing. The place seemed pretty crowded which to me is a good sign. We sat down and got greeted immediately but our server Gabrielle who was WONDERFUL! We ordered the tableside guacamole which came to us within minutes of sitting down and it tasted fresh. Next to order were the drinks, a classic margarita & and mango margarita. The only reason why I am giving this a 4 star review is the drinks were loaded with ice and tasted a little watered down to me. FInally the entrees, Salmon Manchamanteles & Filete de Res. These dishes were AMAZING! The filet mignon was cooked perfectly and still tender, the salmon was nice and crunchy. During our meal the district manager Jose came by the table next to us and was speaking to them, what sticks with me is the customer service he provided. Myself being in a customer serivce/management position noticed he went above and beyond and was so friendly & polite. Its little things like that that make such a good first impression. Big shout out to Gabrielle and Jose, you were amazing. The food is amazing and can not wait to go back for another delicious meal.Keep up the great work Besito West Islip! Thank you for a delicious meal and experience.
Terrible policies in place left before I could even eat. Things to know before you Attempt to eat here, parking. They enforce a valet only parking lot, why? No clue because its only about 25 spaces, 2nd nowhere do it say that you need a reservation. On their website or anything so after driving here at 5:50, the restaurant looked somewhat empty. Then we were told since we had no reservation there was an hour and a half wait time. I will never waste my time again with this place.
The guacamole was delicious the blend of fresh herbs and spices was spot on. I had the Duck Empanadas it was okay, Ive had better. The Yuca fries were bland and even with the dipping sauce it was a styrofoam texture and taste. The Tres Leche cake was delicious. As for the atmosphere I feel this particular one is more for small groups or couples. The lighting was terrible, bring a flashlight. At the end they give you a really small worry doll which is cute along with churro sticks. It is a nice touch.
On day Thursday, March 7, take my time to go to dinner to West Islip, the restaurant Besitos, the place was beautiful, very clean, very good the food, dinner a fillet minog, everything was excellent the bartender girl very excellent food Recommend, well all the staff, exeptor the Mr. Manager, that forth at that moment, because I dine at the bar in that occasion and the pressure to the Bartender in close box and by Logic was that I also had to cancel my account, when they still had no club and even. I would not close and I understand the time but I had just taken a one margarita and I saw him in such bad evidence, because I approached two occasions I close close box, has been the ugliest I have passed in an restaurant as nice as like that.
I could write a book...this is not your traditional mexican joint. That being said it is so effin delicious! Started with a couple of cocktails...wife had a hibiscus margarita with a chilé salt rim...crazy good and a solid por as was my signature patron ...next up..shrimp empanadas as an appetizer...holy $h!t! You must get these..best.empanada.ever. Mybwife had a mixtas skillet and i enjoyed for tge nights special steak jumbo shrimp atop a bed of plantains in a delicious molé with some delicious mexican queso. Result...flavor-palooza in my mouth! Everything complimented itself very well. The staff surprised us with champagne n strawberries for our anniversary..nice touch and Jovany was atbthe top of his game. The service was untouchable. It is not your average mexican joint and the prices reflect that. Try it any how. Youbwill not be disappointed. (Also have an enormous tequila menu.
Food was AMAZING. We had the short rib and Mahi Mahi....both were cooked perfectly. The corn sauce that came with the Mahi Mahi 🤩😍. Our server was David, he did a fantastic job with suggestions and taking care of us. We had one tiny hiccup, that was handled by the manager on duty(Aaron? Alex? Forgot your name, sorry!!) So fast and professionally, far as Im concerned it never happened. Will definitely go back!
Smaller than the Huntington location.I feel like this is the tone down version of besitos,No need to be dressed up,Jeans, shorts, baseball caps allowed,I remember going to the Huntington one time, while walking around the village and they wouldnt let me sit in the dinning room unless i took the hat off. Prices are ok for the quality of the food,Great service. Great brunch options with BOGO Margaritas and some other drinks. Busy on the weekends and valet parking ONLY at night.
I went to the newest west islip location....the food & service was excellent...even though I had a reservation, still had to wait another 20min...but it was worth it!! A bit pricey...but believe me, portion sizes & taste makes it worth it!! My only concern was the tables are so close together & it is very tight to get in or out...so soneone who may be a bit heavy may have issues maneuvering the seating!
Went during Long Island Restaurant Week(yesterday), got tableside Guac, Fish taco appetizer, Enchiladas Mixtas for dinner, and 2 cocktails. Literally no complaints, I just think the food should be a tad cheaper and the portions a bit bigger. My bill would have close to 80$ for just me.

2021-11-15First time here. Seems like a very popular restaurant as it was pretty packed when we came in. Glad we had a reservation. Staff was very friendly but from what Ive heard this a smaller location compares to the others. And you could kind of tell since the tables were pretty close together. Appetizers and entrees were very good. Overall would recommend this place but I do think the food is a little bit pricey. We split our check 5 ways and it was still over $50/person just for 1 drink, entree, and splitting the appetizer. Also the lighting is very dim as well which creates a vibe but it seemed a little bit dark. Food was delicious though.

2021-08-16Besito is a very nice little restaurant. With delicious Mexican staples and great specials. Make sure you dress nicely when you come here. The drinks are very strong and the margaritas are a must have.Started dinner with an order of the medium guacamole. The guacamole was very fresh and not spicy at all until you got to the bottom then it was insanely spicy. I guess it wasn’t mixed right.Ordered the grab taco appetizer. Very cool because they fried the whole crab. It was a very little grab so the whole body could be easily eaten. Yum. Very new and very innovative. For main course I ordered the enchiladas mexitas. It was 2 enchiladas smothered in a creamy sauce with mixed meat inside and onions on top. Not the biggest portion size for the money. And the sauce was the only part with flavor. Also ordered the ensalada de salmon. Basically it was a nice piece of salmon encrusted in pistachio over a bed of salad. Very delicious. Would order again.Service was perfect. Very pricey though

2021-10-25Great place to enjoy some delicious food and even yummier margaritas. Service is usually great, however the interior can feel tight if its a busy night. They used to give churros as a little treat to go, but that seems to have stopped unfortunately.

2021-08-07Great food every time I go. Definitely next level Mexican restaurant. Had senora ribs today. Ribs good a little too much sauce but tasty under the sauce.

2022-05-28I really like this place. If you are tired of Americanized tacos and burritos, come her for some innovative, meaningful Mexican cuisine.Update - 3 years later and I still like this place. Considered 5 stars and just missed the mark for 2 reasons - a few entre specials would help to round out the offerings ; tables too close together which feels a bit awkward like your dinning with your neighboring tables.

2022-04-01Ended up here completely by chance as we had a event for our kid nearby so stopped in for brunch (thank you Google restaurants near mesearch). The entire experience from start to finish was excellent! The iced tea out of patron bottles was a nice touch! Did was absolutely delicious and service excellent! Will definitely go back.
