Best Western Bowery Hanbee Hotel in New York
Nice little hotel in the middle of New York’s bustling Chinatown. Small but adequate and comfortable rooms. Free continental breakfast was fantastic with an option to sit on the outdoor patio. The ladies working in the breakfast area worked very hard and were very hospitable. Unfortunately their housekeeping was not up to our moderate expectations. She didn’t pick up empty cups or liquor bottles, in one instant she didn’t check the shampoo and body wash dispenser. My wife and I came back midday to freshen up and my wife discovered empty dispensers in the middle of her shower. An attendant had to come change them while my wife stood embarrassingly in her towel. On numerous occasions we were not given the right amount of towels or face cloths. Holes in towels and sheets. Pillow cases not changed. We gave up complaining after 3 days and just stopped tipping the housekeeper. Still didn’t set in. Hopefully they can resolve this matter for future guests as it is a nice place to stay.
This was the perfect hotel for our familys trip to NYC for Spring Break. It offered a good and broad breakfast. The room was clean and the bathroom was updated. It was also steps from one Subway stop, and just a few blocks from two others. The room was bigger than expected and had queen sized beds. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. I would stay here with my family again.
This hotel is in Chinatown so not as central as some would prefer but exactly what we were looking for. It was clean and modern. Our room was spacious and internet fast. (3 of us sharing). Breakfast was a busy and friendly affair, chatting with staff and other guests. Food was fresh and plentiful and delicious. The staff were extremely helpful, nothing appeared too much bother for them - happy to help us plan our days and advise. Special mention to Vicky, Sean and Jamie who greeted us each morning like old friends and offered the advise when requested. I would certainly recommend this hotel to others
The front desk staff was awesome. We got in late Friday night and they got us a room immediately which was clean and comfortable. The next morning the staff was able to hold on to our luggage so we could attend a tour we were late trying to get to. When we came back to get the luggage we tried to get an taxi, or Lyft ride to our next overnight destination but it was going to cost over $100+, but again the Best Western employee swooped in and got us a ride through their shuttle driver for half that amount. I will definitely be back!
The location was easy enough to find and the subway is right around the corner. The Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. I didnt much care for the layout of the rooms. I had 2 , And live my life inside Best Western Hotels 6 months out the year so Im pretty familiar with a lot of their properties. I would stay again if I had to.
The hotel is right next to Little Italy in Lower Manhattan. The Staff is absolutely fantastic - great customer service and orientation. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The Breakfast is great. Location is super - very close to Subway & Bus stops for hop-on-hop-off bus tours which we took. The location is a very happening place - very fun and full of life. We loved our stay here Highly recommended.
Excellent hotel, helpful and courteous staff. We liked our room, and the hardwood flooring instead of carpeting. Open feeling in the room with one large window in front of the bed and one side window in front of the desk. Good breakfast, liked the yogurt machine and various fresh fruit toppings. Would stay there again without hesitation.
Family trip for 2 nights in NYC. Daughter found the hotel. We always stay in Mid-town so this was different. Bowery Chinatown area kind of gritty but it grew on us and was OK. Outside of hotel isnt much but 2nd floor lobby was nice. Lots of seating which was nice. People at the desk were fine. The room was decent sized and clean as was the bathroom. The breakfast was hotel average but what a great convenience in the big city. Close to Little Italy where we found a great restaurant. Also close to Grand St subway for quick run to mid town. We also walked south and walked the Brooklyn Bridge.
Very nice hotel in the heart if Chinatown. Room was small but not cramped like other hotels. Very clean, hardwood floors and working windows a plus! Staff was friendly and accommodating. Very nice complimentary breakfast spread every morning in the lobby. Price was very good for the area! Hotel is close to lots of restaurants and has easy access to transportation. I only take away a star because I wish the rooms either had a fridge or offered an option to add one. Tv was on the small side. Really cant say much else was bad, I will definetly stay here again.
It was a bit hard to find at first. You take an elevator in a nondescript hallway up to the concierge desk. Once inside, the lobby is lackluster. But the room was very impressive: spacious with a great bathroom. The bed was extremely comfy. The walls and doors were very thin though and we could clearly hear other guests moving around and talking. The complementary breakfast in the morning was delicious, but we came at the end and almost everything was either finished or finishing (and the staff refused to replenish). On the whole we would stay there again and recommend it.
People here are incredibly helpful and kind. I was extremely pleased with the state of the room. Beds were neat and tidy, the room was spotless and the bathroom was great. My only complaint was the fact that the heated floors in the washroom didnt work, but that was trivial compared to the rest of the stay. I will be back to stay when im in New York next!
Booked this hotel with AAA Travel. Was very surprised at the location, right smack in the heart of Chinatown & Little Italy right around the corner! Hotel was great. We had the King room suite, with microwave & fridge. The room was very large, clean & comfy. We stayed a total of 16 days. Hotel staff was very friendly, helpful & courteous. Hugh, Jeffrey front desk staff were the BEST!!!!Breakfast was not just a continental style, they had waffle makers, eggs, sausage, bacon, ham & more. Kitchen staff & housekeeping were also very friendly. Great location for site seeing!
Hotel is perfectly located on the border of Chinatown and Little Italy. Convenient to bus stop and subway stations, food, shops, fruit stalls...anything you might need is close by. Access to any part of New York was easy from this location. The accomodation was extremely good, comfortable beds, lobby renovations going on and the hotel was full, but rooms were very quiet. Showers were good ad the heated floor in the bathroom was a very nice touch!Best thing about the hotel was the customer service. Non intrusive but professional and helpful staff made us feel very comfortable, welcome and safe.
I just got back today from staying in this hotel and everything was really nice, from the food to the staff! In our room we had 2 queen size beds, which were really comfy. We also had loads of storage for our stuff as well as a really nice big en suite bathroom. The service was fantastic! for example there was always at least 1 person on reception at all times, Jeff was very helpful with everything and really nice and funny. If we didnt know where to go he would show us on a fold up map and show us the different ways to get there. The food was also really good! At breakfast there was plenty of variety: you can have waffles, cereal, meat, eggs, yoghurt - you name it theyve got it! the out door seating is especially nice on a warm sunny day!To conclude my stay here was very good and I would like to thank Jeff for being especially helpful!
The staff was super friendly and the amenities were nice. The breakfast was great as well! My only problem and why I gave a two is I was bit by something in my bed and woke up to pain in my arm in the middle of the night. Scared to go back to sleep I stayed up the rest of the night from 4am on. I got to try the gym which was decent and the shower pressure was good but I could not stay there again not knowing what bit me. A week later my arms still swollen. I dont think the hotel staff handled that situation as well as the should.
The hotel is in a great position near the subway stations and with easy walk to little Italy , Nolita and lower east side. A few good bars within a ten minute radius of the hotel. Plenty of eating places in the area. The staff are very welcoming, the breakfast is good , Stayed here twice now and would recommend.
Very kind reception, excellent breakfast. Only things that could be improved would be the blackout curtains as there are none in the restroom, so a lot of light actually perceeds in to the room. Other thing is, that the rooms are not soundproof at all. All in all I loved this place. So friendly and willing to help
Very friendly and accommodating. Walked into hotel having been dumped off 6 blocks away at 9 p.m. and just felt better walking in the door. Everyone, from front desk to housekeeping to food service was just so nice. Changed all my preconceived notions about New Yorkers - wonderful people. Even helped us out arranging transport back to JFK when our previously arranged shuttle went very south on us.Thanks so much for everything.
Staff was extremely nice and efficient. Hotel was very clean. Had a few issues with the room: no washcloths, TV clicker was broken, and open window that could not close without maintenance coming to close it. Issues were taken care of swiftly. We will stay there again.
A terrific location with exceptionally friendly front desk staff. Great rooms with windows that open. A lovely breakfast was included and as well as tables and chairs there were comfy sofas to sit on. This hotel is a bit of a surprise as you enter from the street and take an elevator to the 2nd floor. I would stay here again and recommend it to anyone.
First off fabulous staff at the front, very friendly and welcoming! We showed up in the morning just expecting to drop things off at the concierge, but they were able to check us into a room way earlier than our original checkin time. The rooms are small, but thats New York :). Bathroom well equipped, minus washcloths. The design of the room is pretty basic, but youre in New York, go explore. I only have two complaints, first the bathroom wall has a frosted window into the room so when the light is on, its shining into the room which is obnoxious for anyone sleeping. The second is its not really a secure entrance, we were never asked for a key to get to our floor on the elevator or into where our room was on the second. Hotel breakfast was the usual but there are so many options close by so better to get something out. Overall good stay!
The hotel was in the best area for our visit and the staff was great at making us feel welcome as well as being a wealth of knowledge about where to get great food. Breakfast was very good and perfect for a good start of a day of site seeing. The room was very comfortable after long walks around the city and the street outside was quiet enough for some refreshing sleep to prepare for the next day. We now would prefer to stay here when we make future trips to the city!
Amazing hotel, friendly staff, comfortable spacious rooms, incredible breakfast! My room was cleaned every day to a high standard. Location was good, five minutes walk to the subway ( line B, D) Seven minutes walk to line J and ten minutes walk to line 6. Highly recommended hotel in Chinatown.
All fives for this hotel. Everything was tidy and clean. Breakfast real American and I like it. If you are looking for a not so expensive hotel in NYC go to Best Western Bowey Hanabee you are going to enjoy. Subway station is nearby, and position of the hotel is somewhere in the middle of the financial district and times square. No bed bugs if you are afraid of them 😁.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Best Western Bowery! The staff are lovely and its in a good location; 5-10 min walk (depending on how fast you walk) from Broadway. Whilst the hotel is located in Chinatown, Little Italy is just a stones throw away so no need to wander far to find a nice place to have lunch/dinner 😊Rooms are a decent size and clean, we had underfloor heating in our bathroom which was a very nice bonus - very much appreciated after getting out of hot baths/showers in the middle of winter!
Very welcoming staff, well situated, were able to do a lot of activities just by walking. Theres Grand Street metro station very close. Its situated in Chinatown but if you walk a little bit, you can also visit Little Italy. We enjoyed their breakfast too! I would definitely recommend.
Really decent hotel at a very good rate. Right on a line between China Town and Little Italy in the Bowery perfectly set in the middle of Manhattan. Great place to see the ethnic lives of New York City and as skimping off point to see lower Manhattan one day and upper Manhattan the next from its central location. Breakfast with room. Has in room safes but no refrigerator.
Very clean restrooms. They dont even make you pay to pee there or bother you about whether or not youre a hotel guest which is really a big deal in this city because walking around with no money and needing to pee can be a huge problem. So many restaurants these days saying you can only piss here if youre a customer. Its the most basic bodily function and they want me to pay to do it! I really appreciate their hospitality and understanding about my bladder.
My wife and I stayed at the hotel for 15 days during the Christmas New Year break. It was indeed a pleasant and relaxed vacation. The hotel is all that it claims to be. The location is very convenient and easily accesible to Metro stations and bus stops. Located near China Town and Little Italy one can stroll around enjoying the enjoy the historic ambience of the surroundings. The rooms are immaculately kept and the staff is very cooperative and friendly. We would like to commend the housekeeping staff especially Michelle for her cheerful efficiency and Jeffery and Jaime of the front office who always had a cheerful word and helpful advice. They very graciously extended my check out time as i had an evening flight.
Location, location, location. Excellent location for vacation travelers. Clean, comfortable, full complimentary breakfast. Near multiple subway lines. On border between Little Italy and Chinatown so countless excellent restaurants starting right down the block, including modest and moderate price range. Also Ferrara Italian pastry bakery and cafe.
The hotel is in an excellent location for Chinatown and Little Italy. It is also close to several subway lines including the J line from JFK. Free breakfast is always nice. Our mattress was in sad shape, broken along the edges. The AC unit didnt work properly, most of the time it was too hot in the room and there was no way to make it colder in the room. It was clean. The wifi didnt work all the time.
We ultimately chose this hotel because it was the only one in our price range that offered queen beds instead of double. Smack in the middle of Chinatown, we were unsure of what to expect. The hotel was fantastic. The room looked newly remodeled, very fresh and clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location turned out to be terrific, within walking distance of 3 major subway lines, and the atmosphere of Chinatown was extremely cool. The only downside was it turned out to be pretty difficult to get a taxi from there (on the occasions we didnt want to take the subway).
Exterior is being rehabbed but didnt impact our stay. Entrance is a narrow hallway on Grand leading to a set bank of elevators. Lobby on 2nd floor but same elevators serve all room floors. Self serve full breakfast included.I dont know if our room was atypical but it wasnt well laid out. Newly remodeled and very clean but no drawers for clothes. Small wardrobe and writing desk crammed into corner and difficult to access. Bathroom on window side of unit and very wide wasted pathway from entry to window. Guess you could fit 2 air mattresses there if a family needed.
Best thing about this hotel is the location. It is situated in Chinatown and close to Little Italy with several subway lines close by.You can walk down to Brooklyn Bridge and Battery Park. The breakfast is quite ok for an American hotel and its included. Spacious room and nice bathroom with floor heating! Helpful staff. We stayed for six nights and only heard other guests through the thin door. If you are a light sleeper the noise from the streets may seem disturbing.Right now (March 2019) there are builders on the outside.
The room had technical problem as the TV was out of order so I moved to another room. In that room there was plumbing issue and it was cockroach infested. In the night it flew over my head and landed on my bed. I could not kill the large cockroach but kicked it towards the gallery. At the hotel entrance there are vendors selling fruit, vegetables, and cooked food. It was noisy, filthy, smelly and very crowded. Most importantly, I did not feel safe and comfortable being in that area as there were suspicious activities going around 7:00 pm.
The location can’t be beat. You’re a short walk away from Chinatown, Little Italy and NoHo/SoHo. Great for an overnight, weekend, or even an extended stay. The room sizes are comfortable and spacious drawers/closet.Your room includes Wifi and a breakfast in the morning I encourage you to take advantage of. The lounge area is nice too.
NYC is arguably a busier city than most. When visiting it, a safe, clean, fully-functional refuge serviced by friendly helpful personnel at which a decent breakfast is served is much appreciated. This hotel provided that refuge for us during our stay. The breakfast was good and sufficiently varied. The room was bug-free, wifi-enabled, and cleaned well every day; it was modern and included a TV that accessed some premium channels; and it was large enough that it did not feel terrifically small. The price, while exhorbitant compared to prices you might encounter in other cities, was reasonable for NYC. Best Western offered good value for us and we appreciated it. Also, the location is conveniently close to a major subway station and in a relatively quiet part of town — again, appreciated. It is not the most luxurious of hotels, but I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
It was exactly what I needed. I had 2 events to attend, didnt want to spend a lot of money for a hotel in Manhattan. It wasnt expensive, my room was clean, greasy towels and breakfast was great. If I wanted luxury I would have hooked a luxurious hotel. But who needs all that when most of your time is Not in a hotel?
The hotel is small but very clean. It is located in mid-Manhatten on the corner of Bowery and Grand situated between Little Italy and Chinatown, perhaps not the best neighborhood, but perfect for touring the city. The breakfast was to die for and the staff was very helpful and friendly. Well stay there again.
Good place.Great location. Right near border of Little Italy and China Town. Its near bus lines, subway, and the bridges going to Brooklyn and Williamsburg. (Nice if you want to use Citibikes for a day. $12 for 24 hours)Clean room, pretty quiet..decent continental breakfast, partake earlier the better.Only minor quibble, is they could use softer towels.Overall..very good value.
One star for the lack of customer service given by the receptionist name Stanley. He gave me a room that did not have a working heater and also the window that would not close. His aura was super dry upon arrival and he was not informative. During the process of booking the room and payment. I had to ask all of the questions instead of him just providing it. Room was nice but I had a unpleasant experience. Thanks Stanley 👎On the bright side... the room was really nice.
Booked this hotel to stay while visiting colleges. We stayed a total of three days, and appreciate the awesome customer service -- especially that of Jeffrey Pai, who attended us the majority of the time, and went the extra mile in his assistance and services with a great attitude making the stay more enjoyable! The hotels location is relatively good for tourists, Right in Chinatown and with Little Italy around the corner, with convenience in food and browsing. The room we had stayed in was clean, and the hotel itself offered a variety of breakfast foods in the morning.Overall, I would stay here again and recommend.Sincerely,Ysis Gonzalez
The property is under construction, but didnt pose any inconvenience. Staff was pleasant, breakfast was respectable, and if your enjoy walking, it is close enough to Battery Park where Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island tours begin as well as going to the 911 Memorial. We also had no issue getting Uber to the other site seeing attractions in the City.
The room was fine. The problems we had are with the manager and the customer care representative. When we booked, it said there was parking- ON SITE. This is especially important to me, because I have MS and if I am having a bad day, well walking far is not the best for me. However, when we got there, there was no parking and now, we had to pay to park at a garage, 5 blocks away. When we asked the front desk, the man was very nice and apologized for the inconvenience and told us that many people are having the same complaint. He advised us to speak to a manager and she finally called my fiance back (5 hours AFTER she was supposed to) and called her a liar on the phone. We are not ones to call corporate, however, we called customer care and she also was nasty. The buck was passed around. Of course it was none of their faults and nothing could be done about it by them only their managers, who all seem to have off on the weekends- in the hotel business- odd, dont you think? Now, we have left messages for corporate to call us back, and this is not over. We are going to make it our personal mission to make sure Best Western learns that the customer should come first, and that people with disabilities are still customers.
We have stayed here before and had a great experience each time. We love the bigger rooms, staff, neighborhood etc. we will be returning in December and am looking forward to seeing how the renovations are coming along. Id say this is one of the best lower Manhattan areas to stay in!!!
What are the largest and best rooms I have ever had in a hotel in New York City. This hotel offers an amazing value for the space as well as quality service. We love the location as we could walk to unique restaurants and were away from the major tourist crowds. We told our families about how great this hotel was and we plan to return!
I actually have stayed at this hotel many times!!! I love it and love the location! The room is nice and the comp. breakfast is amazing! Love it! BUTTTTTTT when I got into the bed, it was very very gritty which means the sheets had not been changed. When I was sleeping, I kept feeling something really sticky near my feet but I was such in a deep sleep I didn’t completely realize. When I woke up, I decided to check it out to see what it was and found this! Not sure what it is but I just think it is completely nasty that the sheets were not changed. It doesn’t matter if I would have called someone to come immediately change them, the fact that they are NOT changing sheets is sooooooo nasty to me and because of that I will not be returning. I feel very sad because I love the hotel (minus the construction). I didn’t want a refund or something in return but for future stayers, check your sheets!!!!
Great hotel at a good price but that does come at the cost of being downtown in a fairly grubby area. Not an unsafe area by any means, but the area does seem to shut down after about 8pm. No general Walgreens types of stores around that we were able to find easily but great access to the subways at Grand St, Canal St & Bowery.
Convenient location in downtown Manhattan, near to lots of eating places in Little Italy and China Town. 3 subway stations serving different lines are just minutes away making it easy to reach various parts of New York. The hotel bedroom furniture is a little outdated, but the complimentary breakfast was quite varied, and having a microwave available for heating own meals was a definite plus. Staff were welcoming and helpful, providing directions and tips as required.
All the guys at the front desk are super lovely and seriously helpful. Most rooms dont have bar fridges but if you ask nicely the guys at the desk might store something in the reception fridge for you. Free tea and coffee in reception area is a plus. Location is pretty good- not exciting in itself but close to Little Italy, Bowery and the East Village. Also felt reasonably safe although can get quiet outside late at night. 2 mins walk to Grand St station which takes you to Columbus Circle. Wholefoods is nearby- 10 min walk. Book online for a keen price - way better than booking through the hotel. Despite positives, rooms are only OK although good value for $$ it has to be said. Room pretty clean; bed is comfortable. Bathroom also reasonably clean although leaves much to be desired. Shower oddly designed so water remains long after you have taken a shower. Grouting could do with a proper clean. Good price for nyc but lacks ambience.
Best Western Bowery Hanbee is a perfect spot for accessing such diverse neighborhoods-- an easy walking distance to Chinatown, Soho, Lower East Side. Such a variety of restaurants, galleries, and shops so close by. The hotel has excellent security. The breakfast was bountiful. The staff was so courteous and helpful. If you want a clean, secure, and limited-frills hotel at an excellent price, book this one!
Great location- close to Grand Street subway (2 blocks). Room was recently updated and very clean. Free breakfast and Wifi were a nice touch in such an expensive city. Front desk staff were very helpful in answering hotel questions and tourist questions. Would definitely stay here again- great value for manhattan. Hidden Gem!
We stayed here for one night after seeing a show at the Bowery Ballroom, from which its about a five minute walk. Excellent value for money when youre looking for a clean, no frills place to sleep in Chinatown. Friendly staff, decent free breakfast. Minus one star for nitpicks: below average coffee, and personally I am creeped out by large frosted window in the shower that is adjacent to a courtyard.
A perfect location for a budget hotel, amenities and breakfast are just enough to enjoy the stay. The subway is just over the road and takes 10 minutes to get to Empire state building, times square etc. Little Italy is just 2 blocks away with excellent eateries and restaurants, souvenir shops etc. I would definitely stay here again.
Great service up until we checked out, unfortunately. My mother and I paid for a car through the hotel to take us to JFK. Karen, at the front desk, was paid a deposit of $12. On the receipt she wrote the remaining balance of $47, which we asked could it be paid with a credit card and she confirmed yes. No other disclosures of additional fee’s were mentioned on the receipt that was provided to us. However, we later learned once we got into the vehicle that we had to pay an additional 10% if paid by credit card. As we were not prepared to pay cash, we had no option but to pay the additional fee’s or get out of the car. We spoke to Best Western while in the car who then told us that there is a sign on the front desk disclosing additional credit card fee’s, however it was never mentioned by the employee or written on our receipt. In addition, it was very deceiving writing our remaining balance on the receipt if it was NOT the true balance.
I would like to thank the entire staff at Best Western for a job well done. From the time we arrived and our checkout Michael, Karen, Ryan, and Jaime were outstanding. We came from Texas to celebrate my mothers 66th birthday for four days. These members always smiled and were happy to be at work. The customer service we received was excellent and outstanding. Keep up the good work. I will definitely be back.
This hotel is in the middle of Chinatown, the rooms are nice, the service is very good, the location is perfect if you gonna be around Chinatown, lower Manhattan and Wall Street, from the hotel to Battery Parks is a short walk, and also The WTC is a walking distance. And also, if you want to go to Times Square or Bryant Park, you can take a long walk but nice, or you can take the subway.
For the price, the BW Bowery Hanbee is a gem.HIGHLY RECOMMEND this property! It may not be luxurious, but its everything you need. If you want posh, go pay $200 more per night down the street. If you want a nice, clean, well-appointed, perfectly-located, safe hotel - stay here.Location: Perfect for Lower Manhattan exploration. 1 block from the subway to Midtown. Incredible array of shops, restaurants, sights in the nearby Chinatown, Little Italy, SoHo neighborhoods. We walked at night each night we were here and never felt unsafe.Service: Exemplary. Check in, check out, breakfast, housekeeping... we encountered all of them during our stay and were impressed at every turn.Additional notes: The bag check service on check-in and check-out is invaluable. We arrived early and our room wasnt ready. We couldve been put into a standard room, but in order to make use of a status upgrade we needed to wait. They took our bags, which allowed us to roam the neighborhood for a short while until the upgraded room was ready. We also used the service on check-out to spend a few more hours walking around before hopping a train to make our way out of town.I also used the small, but very functional, business center... which worked perfectly. The desk had a complimentary toothbrush on hand for me when I realized Id forgotten to pack mine.Ill definitely be back at the BW Bowery Hanbee next time Im in New York.
Absolutely fantastic hotel! Great staff and clean rooms. Im a very fussy person when it comes to cleanliness so the fact that our room was kept clean, made it all that much better. Location is a bit annoying, but thats not a deal breaker and I would 100% look to booking this place when I come back to NYC again.
The location of this hotel is not suitable for most people, the lobby is up one floor from the street, the room was just okay, wood floors, torn curtains, cracked windows and cold air coming from the windows, when the heater came on sounds like a car engine starting up. Would not stay here again.
Enjoyed our stay, but thougt the ongoing renovations should have called for a lower rate.+Size of roomWell working ACFine breakfastLocation, close to subway and bus M15 going up and down Manhattan (Battery park, Staten Island Ferry and up to UN HQ)Quick check in and out-Renovations (will of course terminate eventually but affected us)Ventilation of room, damp shower could be felt long afterNoice from corridor (doors slamming)
🏨 🛌 🥢 🍽 ☕️ 🥛 🛋 🍴🛁 🛋The Best Western Bowery is in 1 of the best locations in Chinatown, NYC . I have not stayed at this property. You can literally get anything Chinese here. Close to many restaurants, shops and transportation. And reasonably priced too.The NYC MTA Grand Street Station is a block away, and the bus stops for the NYC MTA Bus M103 is right on the corner, right on the corner. If you are in a hurry, best is usually the subway. My mother and I waited once for the uptown Bus M103 for over 45 minutes, and it was on a cold winter day this year.FYI, Chase and Capital One is on the ground floor.Have fun & enjoy.
Pro:Nice hotel right in center of Manhattan Chinatown. Little Italy is having festival at time right next to the hotel block at the week of my friends visiting NYCCon: No unloading zone ( if you carry more than one piece of luggages...good luck....) and NO PARKING. Parking garage which is 2 blocks away is only option and not cheap...Hotel front desk is on 2nd floor... strange!!!
So, my first visit to china town and this is an awesome hotel - staff is very welcome - i dont do breakfast but i saw people at the bar and they were pleased - if you go to NCY - i would say this is a cool place to go - i will take my wife there as chinatownis so cool. they are great
This is your spot for your vacation week in NYC!Clean hotel, friendly staff. This hotel is significantly underpriced for its value. Free breakfast, metro station just a few blocks away to take you to all the touristy stuff. Beer shop for all you crafters TOP HOPS. And little Italy.Oh and youre staying in chinatown! Eat your way (if you can) through all of NYCs iconic restaurant. With Nha thang One, joes shangai, Fererra, rubirosa and cannoli king close, youve got sthnacks for all steps on your walk.
I love staying at this (Best Western The Bowery Hanbee) very nice rooms excellent staff The minute you step onto the curb to the time you check out and step back into the cab very pleasant experience great location in the middle of Chinatown two blocks away from Little Italy A block away from the major subway lines excellent The best location for the New York cultural scene many fairly priced car garages Is a great experience thank you

The Stay was great but i know 1000% SURE i left a neckalace of mine in Room 511 and i remembered it after i checked out which was like 30mins but i went back to the hotel to talk to them about it! the asian guy ( not trying to be racist) gave like a straight no he didnt even call the housekeeper or like write our info down to see if they saw it theyll contact us for it? you know and i asked if they can let me go back and check myself because apparently the housekeeper didnt see anything . but for IN FACT!! i know i left on the desk! not making any racial comments or anything but , it had a ying yang and a brown key BOTH MEANINGFUL !! but apparently to them it looks pretty let me keep it If anyone sees it ? please let me know PLEASE! its SUPER MEANINGFUL 😔.

2022-02-20They are a contributing reason to why so many people are getting attacked in the neighborhood. The owner took a shortcut and the hotel became a homeless shelter. Now the homeless wont leave and walk around harassing the neighborhood.

2021-06-01Location is amazing. Right near Little Italy & Chinatown. Rooms are nice too. Breakfast was very good, although there was so much waste as the plates and cutlery were all plastic and single use!

2019-10-01The breakfast was great! I was really impressed with the many options and that they had soy milk for us vegans. Everything was mega clean and even the fellow guests were wonderful and friendly. I adored this gem of a hotel with exceptional service, surprisingly upscale rooms with a cozy bed and super hot shower which I Love!

2019-09-01Have stayed here twice, seven years apart. No drop in quality or cleanliness. The location is excellent away from the hell of mid-town and Times Square. It seems to cater more for non-US customers. Rooms are a good size, better than European cities like Barcelona or London but the breakfast bar opens early, which is good if you are jet lagged and awake early. The food available for breakfast is however very American and therefore some of it is quite disgusting. Overall though its a good mid value hotel I would recommend.

2019-05-31I stayed at this hotel three years ago and had a very good experience. So I decided to return. This time we reserved 2 rooms for a total of 3 nights. The ENTIRE staff was TERRIFIC!!!! From the very friendly and helpful Jaime at the front desk who allowed us to check in a suitcase even when our room wasnt ready. On the first night of our arrival, we had an issue with the soap dispenser in the bathroom. The lady at the front desk called maintance immediately . The gentleman was so kind and helpful. He came down immediately to help us! He was great! I wish I got his name.We cant say enough about how clean the rooms, lobby, stairways were. The breakfast staff works very hard to keep the food full at all time and maintain the eating area clean. They were very efficient!!Dante and Karen were very helpful and nice also! We shall be back. I highly recommend this hotel to everyone!!

2018-03-11The hotel, breakfast, and staff were all really great. The room clean and comfortable. We were greeted every time we passed the front desk and offered assistance with directions and the subway system upon arrival. The breakfast was fairly good too! At one point, they had run out of eggs, and made a fresh omelet for us. They have a variety of food and drink options. The only downfall (which has nothing to do with the hotel itself) was the noise level from the streets below. I found it quite loud and difficult to sleep at times.Overall a great experience.

2019-12-22This hotel was amazing! I came to New York for a 1 day get away from a very busy life style. When I arrived I was very impressed with the customer service Shane provided. We arrived to New York early and wanted to check to check in early. Luckily when we arrived at 130pm, we were able to check in. The staff practiced tcustomer service. The room was clean, while in NYC. My favorite amenities they offer are the complimentary breakfast!Breakfast was about the best that I have ever tasted. Secondly the shower was so relaxing and third, to top it off, the heated shower floors! I recommend this hotel to everyone.

2019-03-22Centrally located in Chinatown, right next to the subway and just a few steps away from little Italy and Soho and countless top restaurants. The staff was nice and helpful, the room was large and with a big bathroom and a comfortable bed. Everything was clean but it smelled a little musty.Breakfast was a bit simple, but competent.Beware that check-in isnt allowed until 4PM.All in all, I recommend to anyone travelling on a budget that still wants to stay in Manhattan.

2019-01-11Nice hotel in nice location. The service was great. The room was a little cold, but not totally uncomfortable. The bathroom has great water pressure and temperature, but no exhaust fan. There are floor warmers in the bathrooms! I am willing to stay here again.

2018-01-16The room was comfortable enough for for adults to stay in. The hotel staff was friendly and courteous. Breakfast was what one would expect from a common chain hotel, but the staff was attentive to ones needs during it. The only dislike I had was a design in the room where the bathroom had a fogged window. Due to that, one could hear everything that went on in there, as the room as fairly small. The hotel was in a great location, with plenty of things to do in the area. Overall, I would certainly stay there again.
