You can’t beat this location- down the street from Pittsford Wegmans and one of my favorite Rochester restaurants, Avvino. Had some issues reserving a room online so someone called me directly to assist and reserve over the phone. Room was exactly as pictured online. Very nice onsite team. Easy contactless check in and check out process.
It was a last minute decision to stay another day in the area to spend it with family and Hotel on Monroe was available, it was accommodating and clean. We did have a little hiccup when we arrived but the hotel fixed it right away. The shower was amazing, just a few suggestions to maybe put a little ledge in the bathroom for your leg and a handle in the shower. Another suggestion would be to brighten up the front of the hotel so you can see it from down the road when approaching. Overall stay was AmAZinG !!
In Rochester for a long weekend to visit family, and the Hotel on Monroe was the perfect accommodations! With easy access to a variety of fun things to do in Rochester! The room was spacious and the bathroom was AMAZING, with great water pressure and lots of room to get ready! I would definitely stay at Hotel on Monroe on my next visit to Rochester!
Hotel on Monroe was a wonderful experience it was an oasis away from home. Staff is kind, friendly and accommodating to my special needs. The rooms are new and spotless as is the bathrooms, the shower is like a spa! I highly recommend this neighborhood gem and look forward to future stays.
Always come here when seeing shows in Rochester. Always clean convenient, location, and customer service off the charts. Also the rooms are always beautiful, and I think its in a nicer part of Rochester.... Ive never been worried here. Gonna come stay again really soon.
The hotel was great and the owners when above and beyond to help us out of a tight spot. I left my bag in reception and they went out of their way to secure it and ship it back to me. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to support local owners who take pride in their business.
Super cute! This is what I have been hoping to find during the pandemic: hotel quality rooms with a motel layout (exterior entrances to rooms)! Clean, pretty, with high quality soaps and sheets. The owner is super friendly, is being incredibly thoughtful about cleanliness, and is sensitive to guests needs.When we first checked in we discovered our bathroom sink was draining slowly. The owner personally (while socially distanced) moved us to another room which was equally clean and cute immediately. Can recommend!

Wonderful stay. It was the perfect respite for the last night of a six night cross country journey. Safe, touch less entry, a phone call to confirm, comfy and beautiful decor. And the shower… amazing. So grateful to have found “HOM” on the road.

Stayed here 4 times now, the king bed unit is a large bedroom with comfortable, clean bed, bedside tables, desk/table, mini fridge, wall mounted flat screen, and large bathroom with a big walk in shower and light up mirror. Both the bathroom and bedroom are decorated very nice and never had any issues with cleanliness. Nice stay and perfect for late nights because you can enter Via an app if you reserve earlier in the day.
We drove 30 miles out of our way to stay at this hotel based on its reviews. The room was small and obviously had been redone in a more up to date style. However they lacked to include basic items normally found in a hotel such as a coffee maker, hair dryer or even cups for water. The microwave was old and the door hardly worked. The room was clean and had an appeal but not what I expected. We asked if there was coffee in the office and there was none. I am very disappointed and will never stay there again. will never stay there again. It
We stayed at HOM while my son was sick in Golisano Childrens Hospital. The room was clean and functional. The bathroom was very spacious and the shower was amazing! Beds were very comfy. The keyless entry was a plus, I always lose hotel keys and who doesn’t always have their phone in their hand! The staff was very friendly and accommodating. My boyfriend was impressed with the TV and the TV guide. Definitely recommend and will stay again!
Hotel on Monroe is the best place to stay in Rochester. It should become the standard for boutique hotels around the country. My room was exceptional clean. The bathrooms are phenomenal, specially the large shower and lavish shower head. Management went above and beyond to make sure my stay was comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel!

Wow! This owner is working very hard to provide a clean and pleasant experience. Very thoughtful to minimize contact, which is important during the pandemic. He was friendly, helpful and personable, suggesting a walk on the canal which was really nice. He tried to call me to confirm our arrival but didn’t leave a message and I didn’t recognize the number so we missed each other there but it wasn’t a problem. Check-in was very simple.A couple things need to be addressed and I would guess with all the work clearly being done, these things are on the list and just haven’t been attended to yet. There needs to be a privacy film on the windows because the air conditioning is on a window unit, meaning the shade needs to be up to operate. There also needs to be an option to heat water for coffee/tea. Lastly, there needs to be a stated checkout procedure. Either instructions to leave the key locked in the room or a drop box would work well.Keep up the good work for clean, affordable and comfortable lodging. Would stay again.
If youre looking for lodging in the Rochester area, I highly recommend staying at Hotel on Monroe. The recent rennovations give the hotel a hip European flair. Silas, owner/operator, could not have been a more gratious host.
Stayed in town for a friend’s wedding. The space was amazingly clean,comfortable and the staff was great. Location was quite and convenient to gas stations,cvs and wegman’s. Definitely would stay here again!
The owners were extremely accommodating! The rooms were very pleasant! The building is all newly renovated. All of the amenities are top notch. Also, if the stay wasnt splendid enough, the owners sent us off with a sweet snack pack! Definitely would recommend to my family and friends!
Wonderful owners and hosts. I liked the blue light in the toilet so you dont need to turn on the light in the middle of the night. The sliding barn door for the bathroom is a nice retro modern touch
My stay during covid was incredibly secure - the room was clean and comfortable, and the management was responsive and kind, working with me to provide whatever I needed while keeping a safe distance. Im looking forward to coming back under more normal circumstances when their very serious-looking coffee service is up and running!

This little place is the hotel that “could”. In spite of COVID restrictions, my family’s stay there was first rate, primarily because of the amazing customer service provided by the owner. Every request we made was accommodated immediately. Brighton, NY (adjacent to Rochester) has a gem in Hotel on Monroe!
It was perfect for what we needed when kicked out of our house to get our floors sanded. Clean, comfortable and dog friendly so we didnt need to board them elsewhere. VERY nice and helpful people made everything easy.

The hotel has just been renovated and they did an awesome job. The service and hospitality is second to none. You couldnt ask for a better location very easy to get from one end of Rochester to the other. This will be my go to place to stay in Rochester.

Great little hotel if you need a place to stay in the area. I had a chance to talk to the owner and he took a lot of pride in his hotel. You can see that come through in the level of detail in the rooms. From the barn doors to the comfy mattress, I loved the attention to detail.

2022-06-26The Hotel on Monroe is a newly refurbished hotel, which is very clean and tastefully decorated. It’s location is in a nice neighborhood like setting on a main street. There are many shopping areas with restaurants just a short drive away. Downtown Rochester is also a short drive away. The owners were caring and genuinely concerned about our stay.I would stay there againThanks again

2022-06-07I had a nice chat with the owner. He is remodeling! Using locally sourced, premium fixtures and furniture. Very nice. Continental breakfast and Keurig coffee were OK, and upgrades planned in the future. Two notes. This is technically a small motel on Monroe. (The doors to the rooms face outside to your parking space, not inside to a hallway. Not an issue, just a clarification.) Second, I wish I had more time to read, and explore, and discuss the spiritual book of Hinduism, available in our room. The Gideons typically place a copy of The Bible ( the spiritual wisdom of Jesus in Christianity.) This alternative is certainly a discussion starter if nothing else.

2022-05-31Terrible 1-night stay…was shocked to find that the bedsheets were not cleaned and seemed to be reused. I dont expect much when checking into a 2star or 3star hotel but the least expected is that I get clean washed bedsheets and linens and that wasnt the case here.Additionally the AC was functioning properly and took a good couple of hours to begin cooling. There’s also no microwave or fridge or iron in the room.The staff though were accommodating enough to let me check in very late even though their front desk was closed at that time. They also allowed me to do a late checkout around 1pm. That was the only upside of staying here.Definitely wont be returning here.Update: hotel manager calls me up and tells me that he thinks i made the review up and that I am lying. Tells me that he thinks I have something against the hotel etc. I politely told him that I am only posting my honest experience to which he responded that he will be posting his review of me shortly lol. Hope the hotel management can take responsibility and ensure this kind of experience doesn’t repeat instead of trying to attack me and argue.

2022-06-17Looks are deceiving! It doesnt look like the regular hotel at all, but the rooms are very nice & clean. The service is impeccable & friendly. It feels more like a AirBNB than a BW hotel. I will definitely return whenever Im in the area again.

2022-05-02Positive: The bathroom was one of the nicest ever seen, heated toilet seat. Negative: There was no direction s on how to use the tv, they had 3 remote control s, the lights in room where way to bright, you had no way to control individual lamps on either side bed, so kept off and left bathroom light on

2021-10-17Hotel on Monroe is everything a modern hotel needs to be. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our one night stay. The room was tidy and we appreciated the attention to detail from the door that held itself open to the lighted and heated toilet seat. I met the owner as we were leaving and he addressed me by name. I travel a lot for business and the big hotel chains can learn a thing or two from the Hotel on Monroe.
