This was one of the best hotels Ive ever stayed at and reasonably priced. The rooms are big and very clean. We got a double and there was 2 TVs, a couch hangout area all the stuff you need. Not extremely busy because of the location, its secluded, very peaceful and quiet. There is a very cute little town down The only thing I would have changed is maybe a little friendlier front staff. Besides that I would definitely use this hotel again anytime it was a great stay for us and our children while we went to the water park and museum. 🙂
Very nice hotel, very pleasant other than little kids running around above my room like they are home. Other than than that staff were very kind and attentive. I have to say that atmosphere was very positive and one of the staff was very positive and happy which was made a difference there. Thank you all for my pleasant stay. *****
We were in town for a special event (American Schutzhund trial) and VERY grateful this hotel was our host hotel. Rooms was clean, bed was comfortable and breakfast was as expected. All staff was extremely nice and helpful. Very happy they were kind enough to contract with our event to allow us to stay here with our dogs! Thank you BW Palmyra!
Was disappointed in our stay this time. A lot of dust in room, bathroom faucet extremely loose , along with a very loose toilet seat which could have been dangerous. Breakfast was all sugar products, kids would love it, but they dont pay the bill.Bed was very comfortable.
Although located in great proximity to LDS historical sites, this hotel was not a great stay. It was dirty. The staff wasn’t very helpful. The lobby was messy. The breakfast food was sub-par and the prep area was dirty. The room was ok. The bed was more comfortable than the Marriott I stayed at several night before arriving here. Overall this place doesn’t try because it knows LDS people will stay there for the proximity and then leave with out saying anything bad. In that way, they are taking advantage of their clientele.
The Best Western in Palmyra is conveniently located but severely lacking in upkeep and provided amenities. PROS: Friendly staff, Ideal location for visiting Palmyra, great rate per night, and ample parking. CONS: NO breakfast, dilapidated room, trash found under bed. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful, the lobby looked well kept. The rooms however, are in a sorry state. While performing my usual check for bed bugs upon arrival, I found a used coffee cup and bottle caps under the bed, sticky residue on the desk, and sever water damage above the shower. Not to mention the numerous poorly made repairs throughout the hotel room. I probably wouldnt stay here again or recommend this location to others.
Staff are friendly and helpful, rooms were decently clean but although the hotel is advertised as smoke free, the smell of smoke was veryyyy overpowering in our room. and all the signs were very misleading because everything was shut down. went down to use the hot tub one day just to find it was closed, and all the signs said breakfast until 10 am, so i got the whole family up and ready earlier than they would’ve liked to come down just to find out there’s no breakfast because of covid. would’ve been nice to know beforehand.
A huge thank you to Best Western Palmyra for accommodating our family reunion event in their spacious conference room. Pouring rain spoiled our outdoor plans and they graciously let us bring them inside. Manager and staff were super obliging. Many thanks for an excellent space and enjoyable evening. 11/10!
Staff was very friendly. They were sometimes hard to locate at the front desk, but were always helpful once they realized you were there. Cleaning staff might need some more training as they forgot to replace some stuff in both rooms we rented. Overall, very pleasant experience.
Positive: The location was great. Negative: The rooms were dated and finish work was terrible. Water damage to the ceiling in the bathroom. Toilet rocked when you sat down. Paint on walls was chipped off in spots and the rooms felt run down and dingy. Breakfast was very limited.
We stayed at Palmyra Inn & Suites May 29 to June 1. The room was nice and was able to sleep 2 adults and 4 kids that we really liked. The staff said the pool and complementary breakfast were closed due to COVID. Instead, we were given a brown bag with a granola bar and apple each morning. Our room wasnt ever cleaned by room service the days we were there.
Facilities and service have gone downhill since my last visit 4 years ago. Bathroom sink sprayed everywhere except down. Shower didnt drain. Breakfast was skimpy and even that ran out an hour early. Guests had to help inexperienced staff arrange the breakfast foods.Still a terrific location thats walking distance from the Smith farm, Sacred Grove, and temple. Hopefully as covid ends they will fix things up.
Very clean room. We had a restful nights sleep on a comfortable bed.Breakfast was very surprising, fresh made sausage and eggs etc, ample servings of all breakfast helping.Clean, relaxing facilities along with a friendly, helpful staff. Stay here if you are in the area. You will enjoy your stay.
Customer service and rooms were great. The issue was that the pool and hot tub were closed. I have stayed at hotels throughout covid the past few months and all the pools were open.....with some covid guidelines but they were open. We are disappointed that now that businesses are all open with minimal covid guidelines this pool remains closed. Seems that this place has a lack of management. The poor front dest girls seemed very overwhelmed (while still very friendly) this weekend with no help at all. Dont think they should be charging top dollar when all amenities are not available.
Special place in the world that has the quietest and most reverent hotel atmosphere. Sleeping is not a problem with the King comfortable bed and window open to the cool breeze. Staff were very helpful and eager to assist with check in. Rooms are clean and smell great. Not a speck of dust here. Superb view of the morning sunrise and Breakfast is generous and fresh items to select from. They have satellite television which I prefer not to scroll through a gazillion channels that have no name🙂 Good Job Best Western Palmyra New York👍
This was a great hotel. Very clean, kind staff, & great breakfast. The rooms were surprisingly large. There was plenty of room for myself, husband, and 3 kids. Breakfast ran until 10, and it was always fully stocked until then. There was a mini waffle maker, eggs, baked goods, yogurt, fruit, etc. Our room was always nice and tidy after being out all day, and towels and soap were readily available. I highly recommend this hotel. We were very pleased.
I had a nice room, it was clean and a good size. The window opened but there was no screen on it. The sink in the bathroom didnt drain well and the toilet didnt seem to flush well. Staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast was pretty standard with cereals, bagels, juice, eggs, waffles... There is a hot tub and a very small fitness area. It is not within walking distance to anything but the LDS temple and Smith Farm.
I booked the king suite and it was ideal for my family. I asked for early check in and it was accommodated, the check-in staff was very pleasant. The next day was not as pleasant. At 9:00am on a Sunday morning, they were out of many breakfast items. The young woman who was running the breakfast bar was not in uniform and was unrecognizable as an employee, we surmised she was when we saw her going in and out of the kitchen. When she was asked about food times she stated she was working on it. When I was checking out the Guest service attendant asked me if I had signed for my room the day before and mentioned the other person had made errors the day before, ( I did not feel I needed to know that) . I advised him the window sill in our room was very dirty and the lock was broken on the window- he asked how I knew it was broken. I explained it was lying in the track. He laughed. I asked if he would make an adjustment to my bill total- again he laughed. I asked if he was a manager, he looked at me and said, Do I look like I am a boss? I was not impressed with the checkout service or the breakfast. In my experience this is very unusual for a Best Western in general. The hotel overall was great, the Sunday morning staff, not so much.
We rented the king suite and loved it. There is a full sized fridge that we were able to store groceries that were cooked on a 2- burner cooktop (there is a limited supply of dishes/ pots and pans, but plenty for what we needed). We couldnt hear the fridge humming at night, which is a huge plus for my husband. The breakfast was delicious with a great selection of foods. The rooms were clean and well stocked, and the hotel staff was very friendly.
Absolutely amazing! Beds were so comfortable rooms had great cable and massive rooms! The fitness room was well equipped and the hot tub worked wonders after a workout! The staff was all super friendly and accomodating. Breakfast was good just the standard continental breakfast not fabulous but get us all well.
Very nice place to stay. Comfortable. Clean. A bit worn, but in pretty good repair. Very friendly staff. The breakfast was adequate. The suite we stayed in fit my 8 member family. The hide-a-bed was pretty poor, but the other beds were good. In room amenities were nice. The price was very reasonable.
We rented the Jacuzzi suite. It was reasonably priced.Upon check in we found the jacuzzi tub to be absolutely filthy. The room itself was fairly clean. We had clean the jacuzzi ourselves. The first night there we realized that the heating and air conditioning was not operating. No matter how cool we set it, the unit would not cool. We ended up opening a window to allow air flow in. The room was so hot that we could not breathe. Probably will not visit again.
This hotel is changing from Palmyra Inn & Suites to a Best Western. Accordingly, I give them the benefit of the doubt during this process of change over, and hope that they will improve as they are brought up to Best Western standards. Here is my mixed review:Check in was nice and efficient. The manager honored the Best Western discount we had through email as a member of the rewards program, even though the conversion wasnt complete and their systems hadnt converted yet. The luggage cart was wobbly, but worked if two people maneuvered it. I realized after a few feet that one of the handle bars was not attached. The front desk wasnt aware and took it to be repaired. The room was clean when we arrived. We could tell because there was an overwhelming smell of chemical cleaners that set off asthma and allergies. We kept the door open and ran the fan/a/c on high for awhile to air it out. The room had a comfortable couch and a mini fridge with a separate freezer. That was very helpful. The bathroom is tiny. You cant close the door unless you go all the way in--its too close to the sink. There is a small amount of counter space--better than none--and there are 2 small shelves/cubbies. If you are staying with young children, be prepared to have to wipe their bottoms for them. The toilet paper is mounted all the way across the bathroom, a tough reach even for an adult (refer to the picture I included). The toilet doesnt flush it all down unless you hold the toilet handle and wait, and wait and wait. . . . The tissues were a cheap brand that were not fully cut--you pull out one, and you get three. It was all liveable though. The beds were comfortable. The neighbors were noisy. We had to do laundry, and coin-taking machines are provided. The laundry room was clean. There was a sign saying that there was a 10 p.m. closure for the laundry room that was strictly enforced. It wasnt. We started laundry around 9:50, before we saw the sign. However, one of their dryers was not functioning correctly. One load we did dried fine, the other in a different dryer didnt dry after 2 tries, and by that time another person was using the second machine (there are only two washers and two dryers). So we hung wet clothes around our room for the night and dried them in the better dryer in the morning. We explained what happened to the front desk and management more than covered the quarters we were out. I think they didnt know, probably because people never informed them the machine was broken. The breakfast hostess was very nice and friendly. I have a feeling they might be understaffed because it was busy, there were long waits for the waffle maker, they would run out of things, and the trash would fill up. There was a cup of coffee left on the counter the entire time I was down there (about 45 minutes). Granted it was camouflaged and blended in with its surroundings, but clearly it had been abandoned. The apple juice was out since the night before--only water came out of the machine. The best part of breakfast was the yogurt bar. Vanilla yogurt from a dispenser, with options of dark chocolate mini chips, dried cranberries, and granola. The ice machine on the second floor did not work.Compared to other Best Western hotels, this one has a bit of catching up to do. It wasnt awful, but it wasnt up to the same standards. The staff were wonderful, and did all they could to make our stay comfortable.
The hotel is nice and is in a very convenient location to L.D.S. Church History sites. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The beds were very good. The only thing that was less than excellent was the breakfast. I did not vary at all from day to day, and the placement of some of the condiments relative to their intended use was a bit awkward. It is converting to a Best Western this Fall and these minor inconveniences should be addressed.
Friendly staff, surprisingly large room, well painted and maintained, not what you would expect from a road trip lodge. Breakfast and Jacuzzi too! Beautiful surroundings, not by a highway or anything like that. Best of budget lodges and a very pleasant stay. It was totally worth the small amount extra and would definitely do it again!
At this time they are renovating the hotel to become a Best Western. Due to the on going renovations while remaining open there was an excess of dust and dirt in the air which caused allergy symptoms among most of us attending this social gathering. I have stayed here a few times prior to the Best Western purchasing it and loved having a reasonably priced, family friendly & accommodating hotel. I was able to see one of the newly renovated rooms and while it felt like a fancy new hotel with very comfortable queen beds; the kitchenette was gone and has a mini fridge microwave combo in its place. I will be back again in August and am hopeful the renovations will be done allowing the allergens to settle.
The staff was friendly, rooms were clean, and waffles in the morning were delicious. The bathroom door in our room had a questionable wet towel tied around the handle when we got there and wouldnt shut unless slammed. Shout out to the host for fixing our TV (it was not plugged in)
Amazing! My mom and I were upgraded to a double King suit that had two King beds, a sink, a microwave, and a small fridge. The staff were wonderful, we actually wanted to eat the Continental breakfast, and the inn was breathtaking. We got a parking spot right up front 😉 I would absolutely stay here again.
Good Customer Service. Best hotel in the area. Met our needs. The rooms could be cleaner. My daughter and I had a rash after sleeping in the bed, maybe a reaction to their detergent, but that has never happened before. Would love real dishes in the kitchenette instead of plastic. Would love healthier breakfast choices, instead of the standard processed blah that hotels have. We will stay there again, but it truly is the only hotel close enough to church history sites.
We ordered a room online we looked at a few places but this one had what we wanted a hot tub , fitness center and free breakfast but when we got here they said everything was shut done so not breakfast and no fitness center and not hot tub. No discount or anything was offered and when i stated that was the whole reason we picked this place and was paying extra for it she didnt care. (Then they wonder why customers get upset and make a seen !!) I didnt like the was things were handled it was very unprofessional. And we went with this hotel even though it was more money do to the extras!!!
The room was clean and a good size. Was disappointed that I was not made aware that the hotel was under construction mode at the time I stayed. I was disappointed in the breakfast that I paid extra for that two of the three mornings there were no eggs and if you showed up after 8 AM most of the breakfast items were gone and not restocked.
The rooms are good and vary in size in shape, able to hold 6 different beds, although one would have to be on the floor and the other is a foldable couch. The beds were pretty good although one was very loud when I moved. Theres an, oven, toaster, and microwave that all work well in the same room as well as a good bathroom, that was very clean, but the shower always started scalding hotand was hard to control.
Place is run by Mormons, Mormon frequented, and seems sort of designed for them. Rooms feel a bit more like dorms than a hotel. The accommodations were very nice, the staff were very friendly and helpful. But I certainly was made to feel out of place by the other guests. My having tattoos cleared the whirlpool area instantaneously and my jeans and rock T-shirt attire caused a lot of stares. Again, the staff and the accommodations were great, it was just the other guests that made me feel unwelcome.
Come stay here in the fall. It is such a pretty area. The inn is a good palce to stay. Inexpensive, good breakfast, pool and hot tub. My one complaint was we had a room that was supposed to be a king bed and it was just 2 other mattresses pushed together. Pretty lame, but not a huge deal considering we go the king upgrade for free.Overall a very good place to stay. Clean, nice and a good bargain.
The inn is situated in a great place to see LDS church sites. The inn itself was nice enough, but needs some attention. Could use some updating in the decor and carpets could stand to be cleaned. The continental breakfast was good in the morning and the staff was very accommodating.
The inn itself is great for large groups. The rooms are well used, but the staff is attentive to needs. They are quick to fix problems and attend to concerns. They have the best breakfast buffet in the mornings! Cute gift shop for midnight snacks. Id come stay again for all your Palmyra locations needs.
We booked our stay for January, back in August. It was easy, and i had great service. The check in process was friendly and quick.Because of unfortunate circumstances beyond anyones control, we had to evacuate about an hour after check in. It was bitterly cold and a pipe broke, where renovations where taking place. It flooded the hotel, causing an emergency.HOWEVER, the manager, Carrie, went above and beyond for us. Not only did she find another place for us to stay, she refunded all of my money, and paid the other hotel for that nights stay.I apprieate such service, especially in the event of an emergency. Carrie, put the safety and needs of her guest first.Thank you! And good luck with the renovations!
Carrie was fantastic. I had an online booking issue(probably my own oversight) and she responded quickly to my email and corrected the issue efficiently without even charging me a fee (which I honestly expected)! The entrance is beautiful and the stay in their Jacuzzi room is a wedding gift for my brother so it was a huge weight off of my shoulders to have such a positive outcome. Fantastic Customer Service!!!
Great for visiting the LDS historic sites and the staff were very friendly. Disappointing breakfast that is included in the booking fee. It is listed as a Continental Breakfast but it was on the lean side. No cheese or meat slices, fresh fruit was just red apples, no bananas or oranges, and no sausage or bacon. The rooms were large and spacious.
Very personal service. I had a unique situation, arriving in the middle of the night, almost on to early morning. Katy (apologies, dont know the spelling on any of these names), Sherry, and the next morning Siera the manager were all personally reponsive to my situation. Also, has a generic EV charger which I used on my Tesla, though I didnt see that feature advertised anywhere. They said I was the first to actually use it. Would recommend they consider installing a Tesla-specific destination charger, as that would immediately garner far more attention and drive business towards them.
For being one of the only places in the area to stay, this is a great place. The staff was very friendly, especially with all the rambunctious young men we had with us. This hotel is a great central location if you are looking to visit some of the founding site of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It’s literally around the corner from the Palmyra Temple and Sacred Grove.
I have stayed here before, have loved the staff and the rooms. Hotel was designed for families staying for a while to visit the hill comorah visitors center/pagent, or canadayga, or the CMAC for a concert. Each room had a stove, microwave. Fridge, silverware, sink...great place. Best western has now bought it and will be less family...stay for a vacation kind of place. The new rooms have a microwave, mini fridge, table and small couch. The king beds are being replaced by queens (unless in king suite) and all the twins beds are being removed. I am diappointef with the remodel. My syays have been for 4-5 day crafting retreats, and my husband has stayed here (on my recommendation) for extended weeks working out of town. I hope the renovations are pleasing to you, we however will miss the old palmayara inn and suites.
Gave us the wrong room at first. Got switched over to another room right in the middle of a family gathering. Spent the whole night listening to kids scamper up and down the halls from room to room until the early hours. Rooms have zero sound proofing so youll hear everything the neighbors are up to all night. Im talking so bad you can here your neighbors across the hall talking at a normal level from their room.
If I rated this hotel based solely upon the lobby, it would have 5 stars. I dont know about all the other rooms, but 169 had 2 twin mattresses on a king box spring. Isnt that backwards? I found myself waking up stuck in between the mattresses. Very uncomfortable. And whats with these hotels and their mini ironing boards on 2 inch legs? It is impossible to iron an adults shirt on those, people. I mean, really? Would it break the bank if you were to get a real ironing board? I just wore the same clothes for 2 days and put a sweater over my wrinkled shirt because of that stupid thing.Theres a nice Holiday Inn Express in Victor, NY that has full sized ironing boards and real mattresses. Not to mention their to-die-for cinnamon rolls.
I am handicap from a stroke. The handicap room has the necessary bars for use in bathroom and has a bench in shower but bench is not by the control. Wife had to adjust control. Bed was extremely high. Had to use my step stool to get in bed. An Occupational Therapist should be used to arrange a handicap room. He

2022-03-185+ stars!!The staff is incredible here! We felt so welcome and comfortable. They go out of their way to be friendly! The room was comfortable, clean and the bed was extra comfy. The comforter was so soft I was sad I couldn’t take it with me!The breakfast was excellent, they kept encouraging us to eat more, too.I will definitely stay here over and over any time I’m visiting the area.

2022-05-15Had a very nice experience here! The king suite we had was spacious and clean. Plentyof parking. The staff is what knocks this place out of the park — Cathy at the concierge desk was so friendly and the staff at the breakfast area were very accommodating. Would definitely stay here again next time I’m in Rochester.

2022-06-01This is an older hotel, but clean and well taken care of. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Continental breakfast was the regular, waffles, eggs, oatmeal, cereal, toast and bagels. They have no pool, but they do have a larger spa/ hot tub that can fit about ten people. Its a great location and close to Joseph Smith historical sites.

2022-05-05Absolutely awful. Its now 9:45 at night as I lay here listening to another screaming baby(again at 4am) thats okay, i paid to stay here! . And I say another, because I already moved clear to the other end of the hotel after spending my first night in an ant infested room, also right next door to a screaming baby. So apparently that is the highlight of staying at this best Western. I was looking for a nice room where I could get some R&R, catch up on sleep. I found nothing but headache here. Customer service non existent in my opinion. I will not be back. And I will most certainly tell others of my experience. Im hesitant to even stay at a best Western again. Im assuming the county houses their welfare cases here, though I cannot confirm. STAY FAR FAR AWAY!!!

2022-05-06The people here are nice. But our room 201 needs some pest control. The housekeeping could use a reminder to have a thorough cleaning. There were crumbs in the pull out couch, the walls had stains on them from maybe soda. And a bedroom for a family only had three towels.

2022-05-28Pretty good overall! Hot tub was broken but service was good 😊 the location is what is best because it’s close to Sacred Grove, Palmyra Temple, Hill Cummorah, and Smith Farm! Less than 3 minutes to each! I added a note at the front desk that in effect in May 2022 as an FYI.

2022-06-19Had a below-average experience here over the last three days. Sink was clogged, hot water took ages to get warm, microwave turntable was broken. Breakfast was so meh that we bought our own food instead. Even the hot water container for breakfast had pieces of metal or plastic floating in it from age. Too bad this is the only place to stay in Palmyra - they could do with some competition to kick this place into gear.

2022-05-24Positive: large, clean, pleasant room, easy check in. nice breakfast. easy access to thruway. Negative: tv complicated and unreliable.
