I stay at nice hotels. There were no nice hotels around this weekend. This was the only hotel room within an hour and a half of where I needed to be. But you know what? I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel was kinda neat. It was right on a creek that the kids enjoyed checking out, the air conditioning cranked, the staff was friendly, it was clean (but smelled a little bit musty), it was quiet despite cars packing the parking lot, it was a mile away from a restaurant that we wanted to hit. There isnt much to complain about. We skipped their breakfast for a nice hot breakfast nearby, but something was available. This was $200. Was it worth $200? Eh...I dont know. But it was the only room available and it was completely satisfactory. Exceeded expectations.
The outside was very nice. The parking lot has a lot of chill areas. But the inside was dirty and unsafe. There was rusted sharp metal in our shower. The hallways and stairwells are dirty. The doors are gross. Dirty dishes left in the dish washer. The cleaners arent very good at all. I think they need to spend more in the inside.
Last minute circumstances led me to stay one night. Initially, I anticipated a positive experience; The Inn has been in operation since I was a child, and its picturesque setting set high expectations for what visitors might see when on the grounds and in the rooms.Unfortunately, my stay was incredibly disappointing. The pungent smell of smoke was evident upon opening the door. I found a random dried up eye-contact stuck to the bathroom wall. A photograph was found just beneath the bed (not so far behind the bedspread as to be out of the line of sight). Maybe I was supposed to find this picture? On the bright side, the hotel is pet-friendly and quiet.I would love to see the rooms updated, deep-cleaned (why was there a visible handprint on the wall?), and the property better managed. Its location promises potential.Stay for the night. Just don’t be surprised if you find items belonging to the previous guest(s).Update:Stayed in their suite a week later. Images posted. The room was much larger than expected as was the bathroom. The hotel has so much potential, but is in dire need of a serious investor to modernize the rooms and amenities.
Positive: The service!! the front desk overnight lady was amazing she was friendly and truly contemplated all my needs. my stay was excellent from beginning to end. Negative: When we first checked in we were checked into a dirty room. No big deal..front desk quickly swooped in and got us another room like I said She was Excellent!!!
I use to live near The Inn At The Falls ,and driving by I thought what a cute place to stay. Well ....I moved out of state 2 years ago and came back to the area for a visit. I thought now us my chance to stay here.BIG mistake....this quaint Inn has been neglected and in need of tender loving care. When you walk up the stairs to the check Inn..there are cigarettes butts all over the stairs. Then you walk in the lobby...the carpets look new but the furniture is stained and dirty. Check in was easy and fast....then upstairs to my room...again the carpet looked new...but not vacuumed very well...the curtains were very dirty and some mold on them from the air conditioner blowing on them. The room was in need of new paint..as the bathroom was...the sink was clogged and took a long time to drain....I can say the beds were comfortable....and there is a microwave and small refrigerator and coffee maker in the room...but thats the only good here. Everything is dirty and dated...the windows were disgusting. I will beposting pictures to backup my experience. This place was and could be a gem....just needs a good cleaning.Such a shame to see...specially knowing its now owned by Best Western...they should care!
Positive: The staff was friendly. The view on the river was nice. Negative: There is a very bad smell in the entire hotel, almost like an old stagnant mildewed smell. The room was very dingy and not cleaned well. There were thick cobwebs in the windows, eye level where you look out at the river. The bathroom was dirty.
This Best Western, is not the best. Using the shower you can slip and fall as there are no skid resistant floors or bath mats. The rooms are dingy and not well maintained. The sink in our room was cracked, and a hodgepodge the woodwork in the room. The carpets could use cleaning. The chair in our room at the desk was a disaster and the leather was peeling off. Ill give them a four star because the staff was very friendly. And the only thing they had was free coffee and a bagged breakfast that consisted of a bottle of water, orange juice, and something that they called a cinnamon roll.
All I can say is this…. I still have nightmares! This place was so bad if I didn’t have picture you would think I’m lying. Broken glass windows darkened corners scary movie stuff. Just look at the pictures. No breakfast or coffee (I’m here on business mind you). Customer service was as scary as the property. I think it’s too much property to upkeep and needs to be condemned!
Sooooooo disappointed in what has happened to this gem if a place. I was here many many years ago when I lived down the road from here. I have since moved away and came in for my Daughters wedding. So sad to see the condition of this place and what it has become. Its hard to believe that Best Western has tagged its name to this. If they threw a few million dollars at this, it could be a premier place. Our tub had white duct tape over a foot long holding the tub together. It had a huge break in it, not to mention the cracks on the bottom. There used to be a smoke alarm attached to the ceiing but its gone except for the plate and wires. Rug in terrible condition. Window sills held together with duct tape and plastic. The rest of the window sills were rotted out and barely holding the screens in place. Inside above the A/C unit was molding and rotting away and smelled of mold. The bed killed my back and the pillows were horrible. The parking lot had lots of garbage in it. Now the kicker is, is that the place was packed while we were there. Had to be cause of the cheap price. WILL NOT be going back. Its such a shame cause our view of the creek was great.
Positive: Spacious room and view of small river out window. Easy to book was also nice. Negative: The tub looked dirty and I would not use it. I got this room above the lower priced option simply because of the plan to use the tub and then had to ask for money back of the difference. Shower did not drain well. Also the decor looked old and outdated.
Stayed here with my husband . Beautiful room and cozy bed . I was looking forward to the jacuzzi tub when I stayed a couple weeks ago but it ended up being broken and not working so I was really disappointed . We brought it to the lady at the desks attention and she was supposed to contact the someone on giving us a free stay or compensate us but never heard from her , she said she would slip a note under our door and that never happened !!! . Overall satisfied besides the jacuzzi tub disappointment.
The place was relatively clean and nice. It seemed strange to require a $50 security deposit. Bed sheets had stains that should have been obvious to housekeeping when they were making the bed. Covid grab and go breakfast was supposed to include a hot or ready to heat breakfast sandwich but didnt. The evening desk staff was friendly and helpful, but the morning desk attendant should not interact with customers. Her greating to me was What do you want. I dont think I would stay here again if I had another choice.
NO!! This place was filthy. It does not look at all like the pics online. There was a thick layer of dust and cobwebs on the staircase. The building smelled like stale cigarette smoke. The room smelled so bad of mold and must, my son started wheezing. There was a note left by the prior guest, telling housekeeping everything that was wrong with the room... so that means, the room wasnt cleaned before we checked in?? We immediately went back to the lobby to get another one. Just as bad. Ended up checking out 10 min after arrival. I can see how this place probably used to be really nice (the pics were real at some point, right?). Hopefully they will turn it around. Id steer clear for now, though.
Service was great and the staff was amazing. Thats the only reason for two stars and not one. Beds were clean enough I guess. Have stay in worse but the exterior of the hotel was just dirty. Every window was covered in dirt and cobwebs. Definitely avoid unless there is no other choice.
Terrible customer service. I reserved a room from Booking.com which is obviously not affiliated with Best Western. When I tried to receive a refund for a room I did not utilize.. I did not stay in... They proceeded to charge me for it. Then a customer from best western stated over the phone that he would speak to his manager himself directly and have the matter taken care of.. He was very polite, I waited several days with no returned call or email in regards to what was going on. I call them today and a woman answers the line and says “Unfortunately there’s nothing I can do for you.” That’s interesting, sounds as if she is unaware of what’s going on... Because when she looked my name up in the system she said she couldn’t find any reservation for me in her system that I made... I most certainly made and was charged for... But the gentleman I spoke to found my reservation easily the other day.... Very poor customer service. I am disappointed.
We stayed here in a king suite in January 2021 and there were several parties happening in rooms on our floor, which could be heard from the hallway and sometimes in our room. We also stayed up late so it didnt bother us, but probably would bother other travelers as they were being loud as late as 11 PM. This was also during the period of COVID-19 lockdowns when people were required to wear masks in all common areas, and when I walked through the hallways I saw several visitors who looked like they were going to a party (no luggage) and were not wearing masks. The room itself was a great size for the price and the bed was comfortable. TV options were limited and the TV itself is really small and outdated. Not sure if I would recommend this spot, lovely as it is with the waterfall and huge rooms, if the partying is a frequent occurrence at the hotel.
If I can give this hotel a negative score I would. When I say don’t walk but run from this place I mean iI.The rooms smell like mildew and feel just almost wet as soon as you walk in. I only stayed here for work and I was hoping to have a restful sleep when I got in from a long day. However, as soon as I turned over the pillow there was a wad of hair laying there. I couldn’t even get the opportunity to take a shower because there was like left over grime from other peoples showers still sitting on the different metals in the bathroom. Disgusting. As if that was an already uncomfortable, as I go to use the phone to tell someone, there’s a layer of dust and something weird on the lamp as well as on the phone. Which made me feel like maybe they didn’t even clean. (in the age of covid something is very wrong here) When they showed me a new room as soon as I turned over the pillow there was also another hair. Ugh!! The thermostat in the room doesnt work. I had to unplug it just to be warm for the night. This has been all around having.Literally in tears as I write this… The owner did not care at all. He got his money he’s like she can change your own sheets. How does he keep his franchise going? Like I said run
Spent $200 which was a deal due to online pricing but get to my room shower water tempeture didnt work so i had to resort to taking a shower in the tub just because it was late and i was all ready in my birthday suit. I had work 12hrs. All man really needs is a shower. The continental breakfast was more of a covid friendly breakfast Dont expect eggs, bacon, pancakes or french toast for that matter. Its consist of hot or cold cereal or a bagel, pastries and coffee.
Not that bad. I would certainly recommend a deeper cleaning on the couches, painting the walls because some of them the recent repairs are not covered well. Also replacing the desk chairs in the suites with new ones, Repairing the faucets for the Jacuzzis, would be a plus. The wifi was horrible but its Upstate NY and in the middle of pandemic. I get it the hotel industry has been hit hard but there are still ways to make improvements. Cracks in the ceiling and water marks. Overall the experience was good. Couldve been great, but it fall short of that. But would I go back there again? Yes, definitely.
Forget the picture. The evening attendant couldnt have been more polite, and friendly. The overnight attendant couldnt have been more friendly, and helpful. But where are the outside waste containers for dogs? Did anyone look at the hallway carpeting? What was the continuously running water next door?
Positive: Staff did try and was polite Negative: I itches the entire time. Requested new sheets and they couldn¿t provide because the laundry service wasn¿t back yet. We were there 3 nights and very little option cause everything else was booked. Pretty sure it was bed bugs!
Worst customer service Ive ever experienced. Its been 3 weeks since my booked stay that I COULD NOT STAY IN because of the smell & mold and still have not heard back from this manager. I called about 15 times and sent 5 emails with 0 response. The front desk does not have a solution and does not know why the manager is not responding. Im waiting for my refund of $280 for this room I did not stay in. Do not book or stay here.
This was my first time staying at this hotel. It is beautifully located 3 miles off the main thoroughfare Route 9 in the majestic Hudson Vally, New York. There are only two levels throughout the hotel. There is a small elevator and the lobby is tight. There is a good sized area right off the lobby for breakfast and lounging. The rooms are a decent size, bright, sunny and clean. It looks like the carpeting was replaced recently. The bed was comfortable. Not too hard, not too soft. The bath towels are not very soft. Free WIFI is offered. There is also an excersise room available. There is a fast moving steam right behind the hotel with small waterfalls hence the name At the Falls. There is ample parking. However, the parking lot could use better lighting at night. The hotel grounds are beautiful and serene in beautiful country setting.Plenty of restaurants and stores located minutes from the hotel on Route 9.
We enjoyed an excellent overnight stay. The hotel was quiet, the rooms were attractive and clean. (Im always apprehensive about pulling back the sheets for the first time but these were clearly clean.) The bathroom was small but functional. The bed was extremely comfortable and I slept very well. Also, this is one place that can have the windows open, so all night we had fresh air and could hear the sound of the brook outside. Finally, the breakfast experience was outstanding. The food was good, plus they offered bottled water and packaged granola bars. The young man who assisted us at breakfast was so helpful and courteous I wish he could be cloned and sent to work everywhere! Id stay there again in a heartbeat.
Our first experience with a Best Western. The place is quiet for being so close to a high traffic area. Beds are comfortable & the breakfast is decent. With that said, we expected better as the handicapped accessible door to the front is not functioning properly, the night stand next to the bed was dirty, peeling paint in the bathroom as well as loose shelving made me nervous it was going to come down on me when I reached for a towel not to mention a loose shower control handle. Went to front desk for more shampoo only to wait around at least 10 minutes since no one was around at the desk. I expected better from BW.
Positive: Nothing Negative: Door to enter the building did not lock, broken. Room not clean. Left over food in fridge. Phone did not work. Nozzle in shower falling out of wall. WIFI info given was wrong. No internet. Bed was broken. Bug bites on my arms and stomach! And much more.
Wonderful experience. Everything was booked in a 30 mile radius. We had 2 weddings back to back so needed a room. We got a room here by shear dumb luck. We got in at about 11pm from wedding #1 and the reception lady was still sweet, in a great mood and delightful. Our room was upgraded to a suite with a view. The room was well appointed, spotless, a bit dated and slightly time worn and a broken, but working, table lamp but immaculately clean just the same. And had a nice view right on the river. Huge Comfy bed! HUGE shower, (although the door was slightly warped so it didnt close properly and thats my only actual complaint.)The staff was great! Breakfast was good.
Worst experience ever in a hotel. There were no working lights in the bathroom - tell you why I think * & bedroom. No hot water - except for a trickle in the spa tub. Gunk left on the kitchen area counter. And a few dead bugs on the floor.* I can only think that the light in the bath area was not working because when the light was fixed I looked in the tub and almost got sick, this wasnt visible when the light was off. There were gross gunky looking areas in every water jet and on the sides of the tub. Also hair & dirt in the cold water. We chose this room to be able to take a bath, after seeing the filth, didnt touch it.
Our room had no privacy. We faced the parking lot and our window curtain could not be closed due to the air conditioner. This was on the first floor. There was supposed to be a happy hour that was complementary. It never happened. The one employee that was on duty was too busy at the desk. She was a good person but there should be more than one person working at a hotel with so many rooms. Our keys to the room kept failing multiple times forcing us to go back and forth. The hotel is outdated but clean. Our sink was not secure to the wall and the faucet turned 360. Stopping the water was challenging.
The one star is for Tyler trying to be as helpful as he could. My stay was 4 days. The key stopped working every day and I needed to get a new one.My biggest issue was billing. I was over charged $614 that took 5 days to refund. I needed an additional day added to my original reservation of 3 days. I gave a new card # for that cost and they charged BOTH the new card and the original I gave them- for a total of 356 for 1 night!! ALL TOGETHER THEY OVERCHARGED ME OVER $700!AND LET ME TELL YOU THIS IS NOT A HOTEL WORTH EVEN CLOSE TO THAT!!I had to do a sweep and clean of my own room- there was someone else hair in the bedding- a clothing hanger (store plastic) on the floor in the living room area, the spa tub had gunk in the bottom of it, the ironing board was broken, and the WiFi kept cutting out.I not only will NEVER return, but I will let all my friends and family in the area know they are better off staying at the Marriott or holiday inn.Shame on you for not running a business properly and having adequate staffing!! What billing department only works from 11pm-7am?! unprofessional.
The entire hotel is very clean and quiet. Beautiful windows and views from the room. Great breakfast. Staff are very nice and they offer AAA discount, when I booked through them they upgraded my room for free once I got there which was a very nice suprise. Ive stayed here 4 times so far in the last month, and Ive been pleased with each time I stay. Would recommend.
It was nice, as a member we got an upgrade to a suite which was nice. Hotel and room was clean. However, the hotel is dated, a renovation is well deserved. Also. Also, word of advice, clerks should not reprimand staff in front of guests, doesnt feel professional. I looked away but its embarrassing. Otherwise, Id return.
Older hotel but nice enough.Had 3 weeks work in the area.1st week stay had no issues.Extended stay for a 2nd week.Thursday night and Friday night of the 2nd week had a clogging problem and had to contact the front desk multiple time to get resolved. Even threatened to call cops Thursday night. Sounded as if upstairs guests were coming thru ceiling.Checked out early and didnt extend my stay for the 3rd week, I found a different hotel. No breakfast cause of covid. I didnt want house keeping in room cause of covid. Weird smell in hallway. Local food options were far and few in-between unless it was pizza. No guest laundry.Recommend staying on 2nd floor if you have to stay in area, but no elevator so.....Overall not a happy camper. I have stayed in too many hotels over the last 7 years and this rates a 5 out of 10 at best.
So far very good, here one night so far, flood damage in our home, staff helpful, happy hour free drink, full breakfast, reasonable rate, room very clean and housekeeping did great job cleaning up the room. They have pet friendly rooms, so our puppy is here with us. Internet, movie channels, overall a bit dated but rating it a 5 with all things considered ☺️ day 6 had a small issue, Barbara, front desk so helpful, giving her 5 stars and Serena in rewards resolutions. They have all been great, highly recommend this hotel!
The property was well taken care of and Clean. Your accommodations were also well taken care of clean and accommodating. Check in and check out was made easy by the front desk staff. The front desk staff of Pooja and Oretha were very helpful and friendly. Our time there was very restful and comfortable. If you have the choice, and youre staying in the area, you should give this accommodation a try.The River which flowed by our room was very scenic and calming. Will stay there again when the opportunity offers itself.😃😀
All of the staff is phenomenal. Our room looked amazing when we got here thanks to the housekeeping staff. All of the front desk staff have been amazing. Sandy, Alyse, and Stephanie have been especially helpful and pleasant. The continental breakfast goes above and beyond any other continental breakfast Ive ever seen. Overall, one of the best experiences of hospitality in my life
Disappointed because of the high price.Place is clean but need an update. They charge extra for water view but you cant see anything from the windows so its just a waist of money. No pool in the hotel. The bath jett is nice.Hotel employees is the only reason I gave them two stars.I wouldnt book again because you can get better place for the price you pay.
When we arrived at the hotel and entered our room, the musty smell in room 109 was terrible. Front desk only sprayed Lysol for the musty smell. The a/c was hardly working and had to be shut off. The filters need to be cleaned since it was making the smell worse. Very dissatisfied with this stay. The pillows and bed are also terrible. The worst sleep we ever had! We stayed here a few times and enjoyed our stay but this will be our last stay. Things need to improve here. We cant wait to check out in the morning.
Rooms are updated, clean, and comfortable beds.Spacious Lounge/Breakfast area has access to terrace, that overlooks a stream. Enjoy a glass of wine or cup of coffee. Very Picturesque!Hot buffet breakfast- nice selection & tasty. Hotel staff were very helpful and accommodating. Definitely will stay there again.
Room was spacious but tub was run down. Overall it was clean (minus a random flower petal behind a door?) The reason I am giving this location 5 stars is for the wonderful front desk attendant. Barbara is truly a delight! Her level of customer service and charisma was honestly a pleasure. You dont find that often! Thank you Barbara!!
Not sure how this is a 3-star hotel. Hasn’t been updated since 1995 it seems. Stains on ceiling/walls, old carpets, desk chair had half the pleather missing. This is in a King Suite room too... I’m a road warrior and stay in 60-70 hotels a year and this one is a hard pass in the future. I’ll stick with Marriott brands.
Fantastic hotel. Great parking, plenty of breakfast options (and coffee options!), serviceable wireless internet, fantastic old modernist architecture in the Hudson Valley woods, and bathtubs. The staff here is excellent, everyone was extremely helpful. After I locked my keys in my car the morning before checkout, Barbara at the front desk was very friendly and keen to help me get back into the vehicle through a cracked passenger window, with time for breakfast to spare. Another staff member helped me carry food back to my room without asking -- very attentive. Thanks to the great staff at Best Western Plus for making sure our trip was smooth sailing.
Saw this place on line and it looked really nice. We generally like the BW Plus brand too. Was disappointed when we got there. The room smelled musty (although it did get a little better once the air was on for a while). There were several hairs on the floor of the bathroom when we arrived. Also noted a layer of dust/dirt on the windowsills when I went to look out the window. I was going to try to open it to take a pix of the falls, as I could not see through the screen due to fog, but when I saw how dirty it was, I decided not to touch it! We also had the last room down the hallway (119). I would NOT RECOMMEND taking this room as it is by the back exit. I didnt think anyone would use it, but I was wrong. It was opened A LOT and made A LOT of noise each time it was opened and closed. Did not get much sleep. 🙁 When I checked out the gym...well I decided not to use that either. Very bad mildew smell. On the bright side, Octavia at the front desk was wonderful. Smiling as she helped every customer that came in...and it was busy! Also, they had a wonderful hot breakfast included in the price. Make your own waffles, cold cereals, eggs, sausage, bagels, muffins, juices and coffee. And the woman there was great too. Beautiful patio off the breakfast nook. If the weather is nice, definitely take your food outside!Pix below: waffle, the falls and dirty windowsills.

2022-05-16The staff (from front desk to breakfast to cleaning) was consistently friendly and bent over backwards to be helpful. Everything was clean and functional. Fitness center small but working. Breakfast basic but hot, refreshed regularly, clean. It appears to be going through gradual renovation. Some rooms are quite nice while others are run down (avoid 110) and others are in between.

2022-04-27Front desk clerk was less than cheerful. The tub was clean but the drain plug was not screwed in and we had some towels that were clearly used and wet. Breakfast was good. The best part about this stay was the location as it was not near a strip mall, major highway, or other loud and noisy business.

2022-06-09Our pet friendly room was unnecessarily stinky. It will happen. We drove 10 minutes to buy Febreeze, after complaining. We didnt want to change rooms. We would hope they would use the $30 pet fee to properly clean and sanitize rooms between guests. Empty vending machines. No window screens. Couldnt tell if hotel on way up or down.

2022-05-16Positive: Great location and beautiful curbside appeal and surroundings. Has the makings for a quant, little hotel. Negative: Rooms are in need of major updates and a good cleaning. Window drapes were discolored and broken in my room. Mattress was old.

2022-04-25My husband and I stayed here a couple weeks ago for one night and will probably never stay here again. There were random blood stains/splatters on the walls and ceilings??? Not to mention the dried up piss stains all over the bathroom walls too. The receptionist was unwelcoming, and on the morning we were leaving he called the room 45 minutes before check out to see if we were still there. There was no beer/wine provided as advertised for happy hour and the breakfast was out of eggs. There was nothing but sausage patties and yogurt. Wasn’t worth over $200 a night.

2022-03-17I checked my Godparents in so they would not have to drive home late after a special event. The room, staff and atmosphere was great. There was no musty smell as reported in previous reviews. Everything was great! Would use them again.

2022-06-26Soon as I called to book a room the lady at the front desk was very well mannered and polite, she found me a room that was suitable and convenient while staying in town I give this hotel a thumbs up . The room was very clean and neat will definitely be visiting again while in town ❤️

2022-07-04Checked in and my room was filthy. I have short curly brown hair and my bf has straight short brown hair. There was long ginger-brown hair in the tub and on the table. We were too tired to even complain. And the tub was visibly very dirty

2021-08-30If there was a way to give less than one star, I would. I think this is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. Took 3 tries, and dragging the desk clerk to the room, to get a key that worked; we should have left right then. Musty smell to the room, cleared up a little once turning the air on. Stains on the ceiling (bad ones) in kitchen and bedroom. Then found that the bathroom sink leaked, so that the floor was soaking wet. Went to desk to let them know, they gave us a towel to put on the floor. Refrigerator ices over, but then melts, so carpet by fridge was wet. Carpet - disgusting. OK, stained and some cigarette burns, bad enough, but if you walked on it barefoot, your feet turned black. Terrible sleep - the room was so damp, that the pillows were damp. After first night, found that the 5 windows (on first floor!) werent even locked. Website says grab and go breakfast, with pastry, fruit, coffee, and juice - only coffee. Website also says managers reception with beer and wine nightly - NO. Asked to speak to a manager - none there. On checkout, not a single how was everything - instead, I said sink needs to be fixed, and in general the room is disgusting and the woman working just said yeah. Not even an Im sorry or a thanks for staying. Only positive I can say is that the younger guy working the evening shift at least tried to be pleasant. I may never stay at a Best Western again!
