I love this place, from its name to its whole range of delicious things! I tried the cheese roll today and it was perfectly dense and fluffy. The paleo (vegan and gluten free) cookie is genuinely very good, which from my experience has been hard to come by. And in general their baked goods are always beautifully presented - just try walking past the window display without getting super tempted!! 😍
A great find while exploring New York City. This cafe offers a wide selection of cupcakes and cookies. The caramel cupcake was to die for. From the icing, to the filling and the surprise of a cookie base to finish it off.It made our last day in NYC truely memorable and the chocolate chip cookie made for a good replacement snack on the plan trip back home.
Great Latin American style bakery featuring a wide selection of baked goods and sweet treats to choose from. More ethnic items include tres leches cake, corn cookies, and guava turnovers. The menu also offers more typical sweets like muffins, cookies, and cupcakes. With that said, theres something for everyone! Yum!
The aroma coming from the bakery is absolutely mouth watering. It caught me by surprise and I used my nose to follow the smell into the bakery. The bakery is cute , clean and full of little cakes/deserts. The staff was friendly , helpful , and very knowledgeable of the product .
I told myself I would stop in after staring at the pastries every time I go to work, and I’m glad I did. The costumer service is just grand. All three of the employees were ready and willing to serve me as I walked in the door. All of the pastries looked so tasty.I ended up getting the Rocky Road brownie for $3.25. The employee asked if I wanted a corner or middle piece of the brownie. That’s SO NICE! I took a seat for a little bit to be accompanied by some great drag art. Of course, it is perfectly baked with a soft center and a lightly crisped outer edge. The blondies look great as well!
This is a cozy little bakery offering savory and sweet goodies with Latin flair. They offer homemade empanadas and a variety of baked goods. They cater to many dietary restrictions: they have both a vegetarian and vegan empanada, and they have several gluten-free and Paleo desserts available. The empanadas are dense, the potato one has a curry flavor and is quite delicious. They will warm the goodies up for you if you intend to eat them right away. You can also get coffee and smoothies. There are a few tiny tables in the back of you decide to eat in.
Love this place and it is a neighborhood staple. I started going here to grab an espresso while on my way to the gym. The owner Jose is so nice and welcoming. I have tried all of their baked goods, the guava turnovers, dulce de leche cupcakes but my go to are the Chocolate Chip cookies with salt.. They are SOO good!
The regular cheese rock (cheese bread made from yucca) was delicious! I loved the chewy texture. And the banana bread was scrumptious as well. I personally love their pumpkin tea cake. It is pure goodness with a nice warm cup of tea on the side, especially during the colder winter months! :) The owner is also very kind. Will continue to come here to satisfy my sweet tooth!
WOW. This place is the real deal. I can’t believe it’s taken me this year to finally try it. We got two decorated and frosted sugar cookies and a tres leches cake. The cookies were the best sugar cookies I’ve ever had. Sometimes decorated cookies don’t taste good - NOT THE CASE; these were tremendous! The owner was there and told us all about the different cupcakes and options - he was so lovely and down to earth! He also recommended the tres leches cake - It was by far the best we’ve ever had! I wish I had pictures but we ate everything too fast. Can’t wait to go back (maybe even tomorrow!)
I got the cheese buns and the guava pockets, and both were so delicious and unlike anything Id had before. Totally recommend! I just learned that they are both made of corn flour, which explains the texture -- crispy on the outside, but soft and melt-in-your-mouth inside. So good! This place definitely deserves a try if youre in the area.
For starters, Id been walking past this bakery that intrigued me for whats two years now and it wasnt until this past holiday season that their Gingerbread Cookies in their holiday window display intrigued me enough to finally, stop in. Id seen them on my walk to the barbershop I go to in the area and said that I was going to make it appoint to stop in and at least try one on my walk back to my car after my haircut. Well, Im glad I did because I wound up ordering 2 dozen cookies for Christmas Eve/Day. First off, their Gingerbread Cookies were/are the best Ive ever had to date. From their size, taste, design, etc. Simply, the best! Everyone who I spent my Christmas Eve/Day all enjoyed them just as much as I did! Also, their Sugar cookie version of their holiday gingerbread cookies were even better, than their gingerbread cookies, but thats just a personal preference. In addition too both of those cookies; the assortment I left up to the owner to make for me of their other speciality cookies were just as good, if not better than the other two types of cookies I ordered! Their taste, texture and SIZE; were all worth their HEFTY, price tag. All in all, it was for the holidays and thats when everyone does their most splurging because its the Season of giving, etc. and plus this is Manhattan, NY that were talking about, but $93.00 for 2 dozen cookies was A LOT. However and again; the ordering process was made easy by welcoming, friendly and accommodating owner/employee. So much, that during my travels from NJ to Long Island, NY; I had to stop off at the bakery and they offered to accommodate by leaving my order with the doorman next door for safekeeping because it was on Christmas Eve and the bakery was supposed to be closing early. Turns out, they wound up not closing as early as they intended, but thankfully my order was ready to go as Id prepaid in advance. The entire process was well worth it and Im glad that the Holiday Season intrigued me enough to enter and experience the bakery and its product. Im already looking forward to place my next order!
Worst custumer service ever! The guy who was manning today ( i think he is Latino or Asian) small guy skinny one was so rude! Not only hes talking so loudly and angry without any reason, he didint even packed the cupcakes right he smashed it right into the box. I will never buy into this store again!
There are two reasons I would not recommend this place. First, the cheese buns are too hard. I even heated them a bit after I brought them home but the texture is still not as good as the ones I have tasted in the bakeries in Queens or Union City, New Jersey, not to mention the price of everything is expensive. Secondly, the customer service is non-existent. The cashier did not finish serving me before she greeted and started to serve the customers who just went into the store (and did not buy anything!!) I will never go back!!
By far the best chocolate chip cookie (fusion cookie) I have eaten ever. This cookie has chocolate chip all around, in side and on the top of the cookie and it is always served fresh. They also have excellent guava pockets, cupcakes, and beverages. I highly recommend big booty to anyone looking for great dessert.
Had not been there in awhile- other coffee shops were crowded with students- I tried the corn pancake- served warm with a small coffee latte- the corn pancake was delicious and I would get it again. The latte was the disapointment - the small was extra small and the coffee was not that hot and not mixed well. there is also a 5 dollar min. on credit cards you may want to be aware of- the location is fine and I like to give to the mom and pop local places in my neighborhood
Ive walked past this place a dozen times before my sweet tooth and commute home aligned to make a purchase. I was excited admiring all my options from the window until I got home and actually tried my desserts. I bought a lemon meringue and dulce de leche cupcake and both of them tasted like they were left uncovered in a freezer. Not only did they have this bad taste, but the cake was terribly dry. I was so very disappointed that I wasted my money on this. It is unfortunate that this place turned out to look better than it tasted.
I walked to this place an extra 10min, wanting to spend my money rather here than Starbucks, just to find out that despite their 8am opening time, they’re still closed and the employees that saw me through the window couldn’t give less a damn. That’s not how you run a business
I cant decide which is the best aspect of this delightful space: the playful name, the mouth-watering desserts or the huge grins greeting me whenever I enter. There is something about this place that makes me feel I just made new best friend. Simply put, joy permeates every crevice of this space. The large Chocolate Fusion cookie was warm and gooey just like mom makes them. Adding the fresh out of the oven peanut butter cookie was sinful overkill.
They dont always have what I want, but thats how bakeries go and its so yummy I dont mind at all. Tons of variety, whether you want the classics like cookies and cupcakes (choco, vanilla, red velvet, dulce de leche, they got it) or want to go with a lil Latin flair (my favorites are the guava filled turnovers and cheese buns). Def worth popping in
Ive been there a couple of times, since I work close by. The prices are a bit far out, and I dont mind paying $6.75 for a chicken empanada and a regular coffee, which wasnt even hot when I got it, as long as its good. The young lady serving the counter wasnt to welcoming, she put my change in the counter when I had my hand out, and its not the first time she acts like this, frankly if you are going to be charging these prices, have better service.
Location is quite nice, atmosphere is a little bit of an awkward ordeal to be honest. One of the cashiers spoke barely any english and struggled with a normal conversation. I ordered a peanut butter cookie, and it was litterally one of the driest cookies Ive ever had.
Tried calling in an order multiple times, but the guy at the front told me to call back later because he was busy. Ok. Sure. So I get there and he has an attitude while ringing me up (probably because I asked for a box once I realized he started putting everything in a bag). I wanted the presentation to be nice because it was one of my Co-workers birthday. My Co-worker enjoyed the cookies and donuts, but I have to say that I was quite embarrassed when my Co-worker asked the name of the establishment. Big Booty Bread Co. Super cringeworthy. I am cringing while typing this out. I hated saying it out loud in front of everyone. Cookies seemed delicious though. Id consider changing the name and hiring friendlier employees.
This review is just for the pan de bonos. Never expected to find Colombian anything in Chelsea, and much less well-made pastries. So happy to have heard this place sells them. Theyre obviously pricier than the ones in Jackson Heights, but they are big and it is the city. Their coffee wasnt all that though, which was disappointing because I was hoping to have really good coffee to dunk my pan de bono in. Staff was really nice though.
This is not an angry review about service or value.. The cupcakes are just that bad. They were frozen and probably from the day before. And I am sure they would still taste very bad even fresh. They were not edible! Wasnt just me. Nobody could take more than one bite or just had to spit it out! WORST CUPCAKES EVER! Haha. (Didnt find the peanut butter cookies the other reviewer was talking about).. Just cross the street to the Donut Plant.
Very disappointing desserts. They sell foreign desserts but clearly they havent pinned down the right recipe for them (we tried a Tres Leches and a Milhoja/thousand layers). Both were very disappointing. Definitely worse in quality than other big places in the city (Levain, Punto Rojo for Latin Desserts like tres leches, Veniero for the milhoja). Surprised with its high reviews.
I pass by and this place looks really good the desserts are amazing and what it call my attention is that they have some colombian stuff, I have a business 2 blocks away from this store and I no matter what they buy even a coffee I give them a smile and I take care of them as much as I can. So I walk into this place and I spoke to the guy in Spanish he wouldn’t respond back or anything and when I ask him if the place was Colombian he actually said “Aren’t you talking in Spanish to me” well I actually have a bagel store and I’m Colombian in first place second u guys should give better service specially because this is in the city and everyone deserves to be treat, nice no matter how much this person is spending in your business. And the guy who charge me ..... he didn’t even said good afternoon non all he said was $10.25 put my stuff in the back and turn his back on me, I honestly won’t recommend this place to any one... I know I might just be one costumer but I bet there’s more than one who has been treat like this .
Horrible customer service! I also did receive all of the items that I ordered but didn’t notice until I returned to work. Also none of the items that the cashier remembered to put inside the bag tasted all that great (I ordered the pumpkin bread and chocolate muffins) both were a bit dry and very tasteless.
Called three times from London to place order and pay. Each time told to call at another time. Made to wait nearly 30 mins each time. Asked to write email which I did, explaining what I needed. Not answered. Called back twice more today and owner, José was impatient, unbelievably rude and then hung up on me. Worst possible experience.
Not sure what the negative reviewers are talking about. I come in here about once a week and send everyone I know there and they all love it too The cupcakes are the best in town!! All the food there is amazing. The people who work there are always friendly and helpful. I love this place!!!

2021-10-26Absolutely love this bakery. What a gem!!! They have a great selection of baked goods from traditional cupcakes, cookies and bread AND an amazing selection of Latin baked goods- some you usually only see in latin or Colombian bakeries. And the baker has his own spin on things. Very creative, fresh and flavorful. One-of-a-kind bakery! Go!!!!!

2022-02-19Took my daughter here because she always wanted to try this bakery, such a disappointment. The barista was rude and had an attitude and would sometimes ignore my daughter. My daughter ordered a croissant, cheese rock bread, and a small chai latte. When we got back to our place she opened the beverage lid, and the cup was half full! (See attached images). The bread was the only thing that made this meal good. (exact words from her). You can find better service at the Dunkin Donuts and deli nearby. Never giving my money to this establishment again.

2020-09-10First time coming here and I love the fact that everything is freshly made in-house everyday. They have a great selection of gluten free treats and I tried their cheese rock and it’s mind blown! The lady in the cashier is also very friendly. Definitely come back to try some of their other stuff!

2022-04-08Big bootie bakery seemed like a gimmicky joke every time I would pass by it and see the funny sign but then I decided to try it. The guava pastry is really delicioust but my absolute favorite is the chocolate brownie. The brownie is absolute perfection, its so good that I can myself getting a big bootie/belly since its so addicting.

2022-06-05Its pretty hard finding good gluten free options, but this place is amazing. Their Cheese Rocks are like the softest fluffiest scones Ive ever eaten.

2022-05-17Came in after work. There is a young lady that I see every time that I come in. I want to say she manages the place. She’s very cold and lacks customer service etiquette. Came in this evening to order a few things. Granted she was wiping down the station, she looked at me and didn’t acknowledge me AT ALL. Made eye contact and the proceeded to ignore me. Lol, I’m pretty thankful for this. I’ll spend my dollars elsewhere.

2021-05-06A friendly bakery spot. We were attracted by their window and I got a cheese rock and the Tres Leches cake. Both tasted good but cheese rock had a hard texture instead of chewy. The cake was the same, a little bit hard instead of soft or moist.

2019-12-23Cool space, outstanding treats. Didn’t have any bread. 🤷🏻♂️ :) I wish the staff were friendlier, but they were probably tired at the end of the day. Definitely recommend popping in for a snack or as a place to pick up a box of cupcakes for the family or office. Excellent quality.
