Superb service! I had been hearing weird noises in my car for sometime, but no one had discovered what it was until I took it to Bill Rapps Norwich. They gave me a loaner car, fixed the problem, cleaned up the car beautifully, and now my 65,000 mile Forester is riding and handling better than it has in a long time. And the extra surprise was that they changed my car clock to DST (yes, I know how to do it but I usually put it off because I always have to consult the ,manual). Service personnel are friendly and knowledgeable. I highly recommend service at BIll Rapp Subaru of Norwich.

Sam was wonderful!! Very knowledgeable, nice, professional and gave us a great deal. Ended up paying less per month than I was paying on my Tucson and I got my dream car/Subaru Outback and in my favorite color blue. It even has a tow package already installed. THIS BUSINESS DOESNT EVEN DESERVE ONE STAR!! The manager, Chris was trying to keep me quiet and asked me to change my review as it was bad for their business. Well, My husband and I bought our vehicle from here, paid in full. We have had our vehicle a year and have had nothing but problems the whole time! We’ve had the car maybe 8 months out of the year because it’s been in a shop the rest of the time! They refuse to take ANY responsibility for selling us a BROKEN VEHICLE!! We haven’t even put 5000 miles on it because majority of the time it’s broken down!! We were told that it was fixed! Guess what!!! It’s the middle of winter, our vehicle broke down yet again, just after getting it back, with our babies in the car!! They will NEVER have anymore business from me or anyone in my family and I will make sure to let people know how they did us dirty by selling us a broken car!
I got a really good vibe from the sales guy. I got a great car at an ok price. The sales guy was so nice I felt weird discussing price...thats why I put 4 stars. I wish I had talked him down a little...so 4 stars cause you guys are too nice:) but they were super accommodating.
Tried to get into Carbone Subaru of Utica to get electric steering looked at in my 2014 Forester. I called three times having to leave messages. I called Norwich Subaru and was given an appointment to diagnose the problem on Thursday. I called on Tuesday and was told to bring the car in on Wednesday. It is an hour drive, but the steering was getting worse everyday. Connie said that I would receive a call the next day with the diagnosis and cost. At 11:00 am on Thursday she called to tell me the problem was covered by a Subaru extended warranty. I asked when the car might be ready and was informed that it was at the moment being given a wash before pickup. No charge as it was being covered fully!! My local mechanic told me it was about a $2000 job. I am more than overwhelmed. Rapp Subaru service is well worth the drive. I highly recommend them.
I bought my car from this dealer when it was Benedict’s brand new off the lot 3 years ago. Even now with the new name and owner they’ve taken such good care of me and my car. Bringing it in for service and starting issues it was fixed in such a timely manner and Connie was so friendly and easy to work with. I can’t recommend this dealer enough they’ve been fantastic to work with from the moment I bought my car to even three years later. For purchases, service and repairs I’ll always come back to them. If I could I would give them 10 stars for their courtesy, kindness, and helpfulness during a most traumatic event in my life...a distracted driver left me without a vehicle (total loss) and I called Bill Rapp to see if they had any Imprezas or Crosstreks because anything longer wouldnt fit in my garage...they had a Crosstrek Sport that Robert said would be perfect for me...and it was... and they were kind enough to hold it for me until the settlement came through from the other drivers insurance companyThey made it simple and easy to buy the Crosstrek and I absolutely love it!I was so relieved and grateful to them because I know they could have sold it ten times over that I cried...ANGELS ON EARTH...I am looking forward to a long and happy relationship with their servicedepartment...Thank you to everyone who made this extraordinary Subaru dealership a part of my life
Service was quick! Colleen (I hope I spelled her name correctly) the service receptionist was lovely! High-five to the fellas who worked on my car, enduring the smell of dead rat!! Lol! Even the sales representatives were kind! My car was looked over, oil changed, and rattling resolved! I usually take my car to carbone Subaru in Utica! It’s a wonderful warm facility as is this one in Norwich, however there is a price difference. For me it was made up in gas but it’s a great place, I highly recommend thus far, and I will be going back!
Service person said she would stay around past closing while I went and retrieved my misplaced card. That was appreciated. Documented my concerns in detail and took care of them. Thoughtful small extra touch, beyond what the car was there for, was noticing the clock time being off and resetting it.
We had our Forrester in for service recently and just like every other time, we received fantastic customer service. Our vehicle was completed at the time we were told and was sparkling clean. Erica walked me out to our car and we spoke about my future car goals. I always leave happy from this location. Thank you for being there.
I visited Bill Rapp Subaru for service on two occasions. Both times I was greeted by friendly people, treated in a friendly and respectful manner, and the service was fast and accurate. On one occasion the service required such time that the dealership chauffeured me home and then picked me up a few hours later when in my car was ready. All in all a very good customer experience.
At the business it was good. The web site really needs work. Scheduled an appointment but got no confirmation. Sent a chat to confirm, got a quick response,” get back to you shortly”. After days still no response, so I chatted again. Same response and same no confirmation. Made a call and got the confirmation.
My husband and I just bought a car from Benedicts. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Our salesperson, Erica was very inventive and answered all of our questions. Paul Cirello was amazing. He worked with us and our needs and was able to give us a great deal that fit our price range. Thank you so much for being such a great staff!
I recently had service completed on my car at Bill Rapp Subaru and Carl Schidzick makes it extremely difficult to ever return for service. Background of the issue... My vehicle was brought in for a recall on the fuel pump, setup an online appointment go in the day of the appointment and no parts to fix. Order parts get a call to schedule the fix take the car in for the fuel pump replacement and receive a upsell call for an oil change and tires. Mind you the dealer wants you to change the oil at 3700 miles, while the owners manual recommends an oil change at 7000 miles. I also told them no to the tires, and was told to have fun this winter with those tires. Little does he know that I will be in Florida! Its an embarrassment to the dealership to have this guy call to upsell me, and I will not return to the dealership!
I absolutely hate car shopping. Im sure most people can relate. However, the staff and my sales lady Jennifer were fantastic. I arrived at this dealership and I was greeted instantly with a smile. I told her what I was looking for and she took me right over to what I wanted. I test drove the perfect car and she made it possible for me to purchase it. All my questions were answered promptly with the upmost professionalism and down to earth manor. They stayed within my budget range and got me right out the door. A friend drove her car there because it had not been running right. Whoever changed her oil actually drained transmission fluid. The service department wanted $7000 to replace a sensor in the transmission. Drove the car 60 miles north to a family shop. They filled us in that this dealer was trying to screw us. They had unplugged everything from the transmission and let her drive it. So instead of $7000, it cost one hour labor. She drove the car back to Delaware no problem.

Our entire experience at Benedict was beyond what we could have expected. We found ourselves at the dealership unexpectedly due to our previous vehicle breaking down. I just bought my fourth vehicle from here and every time it has been a wonderful experience. The truck I just bought I would have never picked out for myself. Bobbie Jo and Paul showed it to me and I fell in love with it. Later that day I was driving it home. Surprisingly enjoyable experience buying a used Subaru. Met Ashley in the used lot shack and she was wonderful. Then we met Paul the sales manager - someone I would also do business with again. He went out of his way to review our trade-in vehicle - putting it back on the lift even after most service personnel had left for the day. I can see why this place was recommended by a local friend with a Subaru.

I recently purchased a 2019 Subaru Crosstrek 6-speed manual from Benedicts and have nothing but positive things to say. From financing to communication, everything went very smoothly. Once I was approved, they found the exact car I was looking for, which wasnt easy because the standard transmissions sell quickly! They also gave me a fair deal on my very old trade-in. Awesome, friendly and honest. I bought a Subaru crosstrek from Benedict Subaru in Norwich even though I was in Johnson City. I enquired about a car that I’d seen online and asked if they could pick me up from JC because I didn’t have a car. Their shuttle came and picked me up.I was working with Jennifer, who is very sweet and accommodating. They were very honest and I did not ever feel like I was being upsold. I was having difficulty deciding between a couple of cars and they let me test drive and mulled over it as much as I needed to feel comfortable. They are patience was very welcomed.I would buy my next car from there again and I would recommend them strongly.

We are NOT happy. A surgical mask was left in the car after being serviced so I assume the mechanic was not wearing a mask while in the vehicle. I was also told that the car was due for an air filter change. I declined and checked the maintenance booklet to find the filter did not need a change until next service.
It was my first time buying a car and Jennifer was extremely helpful. She was able to work with me and find a car to my liking. The whole process was extremely easy and went smoothly. I recommend working with Jennifer if you are trying to find the car perfect for you!
Unfortunately my review has changed. After purchasing a used car after our first purchase, my experience was awful. The brakes were bad and the service dept. wanted $800.00 for rusted brakes and I had a difficult time getting them to honor the warranty. At present my check air bag has been on and Benedict wants $200.00 to diagnose it and that doesn’t include fixing it. Of course it’s not covered and I can not afford there prices, so I have been riding around with the air bag light on. We had a reputable dealer buy out our lease for the first car we leased from Benedict and we are very happy with our new car. Unfortunately the used car I’m stuck with is financed and I’m very unhappy with it. I would never purchase a vehicle from Benedict again. My parents who are seniors had a bad experience with the service dept. as well, they robbed them for over $800.00 for brakes. When they brought there car to another machanic he said it would have and should cost $250.00 for the same service. Typical unethical car salesman. Go to Mathews in Binghamton.
Bottom-line: Great deal ... Wonderful Experience ... Great PeopleThe rest of the story:Ive been buying cars for over 40 years now and have had every experience you can think of. Ive been lead to the slaughter house by unscrupulous dealers and Ive been treated like a king by others. Each experience built upon another during my younger years and I learned to take care of myself. On Aug 30th, my 90 year-old father and I went online to look at a replacement car for him. We happened upon Benedicts website and saw something we were interested in. We took a trip over the showroom and stopped at the used car lot to check out the vehicle we had spotted online. There wasnt any sales people on the lot so I made a quick phone call. Jennifer answered the phone and immediately ran up to the lot to greet us. [Great 1st impression] After talking to her for a minute she invited us to her desk for the obligatory paperwork so we could take the car for a test drive. She was very gracious and friendly ... offering my father and I both a bottle of water. The sales manager, Paul, arranged to do an assessment on my fathers trade-in. We took a couple of cars for a test run and my father decided on the car he wanted. We got back to Jennifers desk and drew up the initial round of numbers ... always the starting point of negotiations. Since Ive done this before, I asked for the bottom ... out-the-door ... price so my father knew exactly what he was looking at with regard to financing. After my father and I reviewed the numbers, we countered with a price we thought was reasonable and fair to both my father and the store. Paul came back with a smile and handshake and accepted our offer. We were in and out of there in 2-hours! That was the fastest car buying experience I have every had! On Sep 3rd, my father returned to turn in his trade-in and pick up his car. Since I had to return home to Virginia, I had already emailed both Paul and Jennifer that morning to ensure everything was good to go. Both had returned my emails before the store opened and assured me that everything was ready. My father arrived early, took care of the last minute paperwork, and drove home in his new [2014] car. Everything went like clockwork and there were no surprises! My brother and I feel much better that our father now has a reliable car that will get him where he needs to go for the foreseeable future. Considering our Dad only puts about 5000 miles a year on his cars ... this car should last quite a while. Jennifer ... thank you for treating my father with the respect he deserves and taking such good care of him. You were professional and responded to each question with enthusiasm and consideration. I very much appreciated working with you. Paul ... my father and I both appreciate your willingness to negotiate. I understand that car dealers operate to make a profit and I respect that. But ... a fair profit for you AND a fair deal for me [my father] is not always guaranteed. Considering all the factors in this deal ... I believe that you treated my father fairly and he good a fair deal. I couldnt have asked for more. Thank you
I searched for a Subaru dealership in the surrounding area after a very unsatisfied experience with a local dealer. Shelly from Benedict was the first one to contact me and she got me the price and the car that I wanted all over the phone. Pick up the car a week later with the help of her coworker Jamie. Shelly went to vacation few days ago, so I had never met my car saleswoman in person.If you in the market for a Subaru, I highly recommend shopping around and check this dealership.

I recently purchased my Subaru Forester at Benedict! I had been shopping around for about a week and had pretty much narrowed it down to a couple SUVs I liked. In the hills where I live an SUV is a necessity not a luxury. When I saw this SUV I fell in love but I wrote it off as out of my league. Somehow Lauren and Paul made it work for me. Its been a couple weeks now and still like to look at her. Had our first bad storm yesterday and Blue Bird got me safely to and from work. Benedicts in Norwich operates at different tier than the competition. The sales force offers a low pressure environment that truly wants to deliver to the needs of the customer. Every time I bring my 2013 Subaru in for servicing, I am impressed with the way I am treated, as well as the quality of service. They have displayed professionalism in every interaction I have had with them. They have earned me as a lifetime supporter, and continue to be the car dealership I trust.
Just purchased 3nd Subaru from Benedict largely in part to their wonderful sales woman, Jamie. She continued working on her end to acquire the hard to come by manual trans. crosstrek that I so desired and got the numbers to work. Finance manager, Shelly is a classy woman that can make the impossible happen with transfers and the DMV. The service department has great folks running, and working there and owner Paul knows his cars!
Benedict in Norwich is amazing. I have only dealt with their body shop but have been nothing but happy both times. They always give the best car for you as a rental, and keep you informed with every step of your vehicle being fixed. The staff is always curtious and willing to listen to any concerns you may have. This dealership is without a doubt beyond extraordinary this comes from a former season car sales professional and someone who has purchased many vehicles in his lifetime. All dealerships in a perfect world would operate in the manner in which Benedicts. operates. There is no high-pressure. It is clear that they put the customer as number one and recognize the age old saying that customer is king. Cant speak highly enough of this dealership. Very disappointed in the service department for the way that things are handled. I have a 3 year old car with 37000 and miles and had a battery failure, the battery says it has a 85 month warranty but the day it does not apply because we did not buy the battery, really? It was sold in the car I purchased so I bought it, plus it is a Subaru battery. Then to make matters worse the one guy was trying to overcharge on the rental for a extra day when only had for a day. It seems that as soon as you warranty expires so does that customer service, then again it may just be this dealership but this makes one think is this a company that you want to stick with. The other thing that gives me pause is that when wife went to get car it was making some unusual noises when starting it up and when turning to the right and they were like oh dont worry about it hoping turning noise is not related to there tow of the car.

Worked with George at Benedict on a new 2017 GMC 3500HD. He and the management at Benedict were true professionals who worked very hard to answer every question responsively. They gave me a good price on my F250 trade and were diligent in all of the details prior to the sale. I appreciate this as someone coming from out of town down in PA. Would recommend George and Benedict to anyone.
Three months ago, I test drove a vehicle and said I felt a vibration. The salesperson said We will take care of it. When I went to pick up the vehicle and asked what they did about the vibration, he said, We had to replace two tires because they were bad. I returned because the vibration persisted and now I had pulsation in the brakes and a noise while turning the wheel when parking. No one asked me to test drive the vehicle and after less than an hour, I was told that there was 5 pound extra in left front tire and I was told that the noise was brake caliper noise. The vibration persisted and the pulsation worsened. I spoke to the service manager who told me I drove that vehicle and theres nothing wrong with that vehicle. On my second visit, I learned from the service manager that they never replaced two tires since I test drove the vehicle. The service manager went for a test drive with me and said he felt the brake pulsation but not the vibration. I had to ask that the tires be road force balanced. They found the left front out of balance and replaced the rotors. The vibration got worse and the noise while turning persisted. I called corporate Subaru because they were taking care of the problem. On my third visit, they found that the left front tire had a flat spot and replaced it. I asked that the CV joints be checked and they said they were fine and that the noise was probably the self-lubricating ball joint in the steering column. The noise persisted and I knew Benedict was incapable of fixing the problem so I took it to Bill Rapp Subaru who identified the left front axle shaft as the problem and replaced it in a matter of hours. As far as concerned, there is no service here nor do they care to give excellent service. My advice, steer clear of this place!
Ill make this short and sweet. I am a local and a Combat Veteran, Sgt USMC. I have never heard anything good about this place and have gone twice (trying out a local dealer before heading elswhere) with negative experiences both times. The only five star rating on this page is from a car salesman... go figure.If you want to get ripped off and waste your time or money at a (stealership) then go here, if not hopefully you find somewhere better. I went to Vermont and had a more than pleasurable car buying experience there.
Unhappy with a used car purchase. Bought a Forester that ended up having after market parts. The extended warranty they offer is no longer sold by Subaru called classic so it can be a real pain to apply the warranty when needed. If you need a tow, you pay outright and the YOU submit a requisition for repayment, very inconvenient.Long story short, if you really want a Subaru, which I dont recommend, seek out a real Subaru dealer
Horrible! Went in for an inspection wich cost 21$ wich I failed only for 2 lights not working (not a big deal) wanted 35$ to fix wich I declined (did it myself for 8$). After leaving I noticed they took my completely fine inspection sticker out! I still had to the end of the month to do my inspection! I got pulled over and was late for work! I came back for another test only 7 days later and it took them an hour To make sure the two lights worked! Then they charged me another 10$ to test again wich I was never told about! Go somewhere else! Please save yourself the aggravation!

2022-01-22I dropped my car off here today for the yearly inspection and I was thrilled with the service. Its mid January and covered in road salt, well not anymore. When I picked it up it was all washed up and beautiful. Thank you so much for the awesome job Bill Rapp Subaru!

2022-04-26After my experience with other dealerships in a 100 mile radius of my location, Bill Rapp of Norwich, NY exceeded all my expectations of a cat dealership. The staff greeted me in a warm and genuinely friendly way. The family feel of the staff was evident. I returned for my first service 4 months after purchasing my Subaru and was once again greeted with the same friendly faces. My salesman greeted me in the service area to see how I was doing and to ask how I was liking my new car. The best feeling ever!

I am very pleased with the service provided for me by and the time taken at signing from Bob the salesman in going over all paperwork and explaining what each document signed was for. 2022-02-12We were at Bill Rapp Subaru in Norwich, NY for a 6,000 mile checkup for our 2021 Subaru Legacy. Oil change, tire rotation mainly. Very good service, very professional, not high pressure. They even washed the car which was vey much appreciated! Very satisfied with the service.

That can’t be farther from the truth when purchasing from Bill Rapp. From the salesperson, Sam D, to the finance manager, Matt, you will not find an easier, more accommodating and professional staff. This is my fifth Subaru. If I ever need another, I’m most certainly going back to Bill Rapp.

2022-04-16I leased a 2019 forester from (then) Benedict, now Bill Rapp Subaru in Norwich. The car itself has been wonderful, in fact so great that I will buy and keep it. The service at Benedict/Rapp is another story. I have brought my car there 4-5 times in the past three years for routine maintenance on a leased vehicle. The first time I scheduled on line, arrived and they had no record of my appointment. They fit me in after making me feel like they were doing me a favor. The second time I had to wait over two hours for an oil change and tire rotation. After that I learned to schedule my appointments by phone as their computers and online scheduling systems are horrible at best. My most recent appointment, again for routine maintenance was impacted by computer problems and I only received an oil change. I was told I would have to return for my NYS inspection. (A 70 Mile round trip) That will not be happening and I will buy this vehicle directly from Subaru finance. I will never brig it back to Norwich for service and cannot recommend them for service to anyone. I am not the only customer that has experienced these problems in the past. Not once did anyone express remorse for my inconvenience. Good luck moving forward. I know things are tough but you need to do better.
