FANTASTIC. The ambience is truly incredible and unique. The decor, semi outdoor seating, and music put you somewhere I. The world that isn’t Brooklyn. Then the food: terrific and unlike any other place. Price is not why you come- it isn’t value minded. But if you want a delightful evening of food and drink, this is it.
Visited here a few weeks back and had an overcooked and over-seasoned filet minion that cost a pretty penny. I only ate half of the steak before the waitstaff took it away. The fried cauliflower was decent enough, though. After two whiskey sours that didn’t seem to have much whiskey in them, I moved to a straight bourbon. It wasn’t favorable experience.
A lot of potential, but wont be rushing back due to some unfortunate shortcomings.Notably:- They simply cannot cook a steak properly. My medium rare was clearly well done. When I sent it back (first time in my life) I got back a steak that was very much blue rare. The other steak in my party was also cooked incorrectly, though less extremely so. The cook on the steak was also quite inconsistent. This was roughly on par with what youd expect at a backyard bbq and not a premium restaurant.- The fish was overcooked and dry, though flavor was delicious.- The service was lacking. Main course dishes were brought out over 5 minutes apart (excluding the one that had to be redone) leaving everyone eating at different times.
Dessert and fries were good, hence the 2 stars. Otherwise, horrible experience. The staff was unresponsive and rude. We tried ordering more drinks and food mid meal and nobody came by, even after we requested a waiter. Worst part was they asked us to leave within an hour of arriving because they didn’t have place for someone else. Unimpressed, wouldn’t return and I wouldn’t recommend anyone try this place either.
The prices are significantly higher than equivalent restaurants in Manhattan. However, the lack of care for me as a customer was the most disconcerting. I went following an event at the Secret Science Club, they were the only ones open. I left my business credit card behind. I reached out to them and they were reticent to send it (45 minutes by subway to get there). They finally agreed and when I followed up, they said they forgot but would send it now. Ten days later and it is still not here, forcing me to report it missing, delay flight purchases for business, redo all the automatic payments that go through the card etc. None of us like being lied to and if they care so little about me to take 2 minutes and a stamp to mail it, what is happening in the kitchen when no one is looking.
Our family of five arrived when the restaurant opened at 5pm for dinner. The restaurant’s industrial setting looks great. The food was delicious and the kitchen was extremely accommodating with our children. If you’re looking for a great kosher experience this is the right place!
Came into Bison and Bourbon a Sunday evening during COVID time. For me and my wifes 3rd anniversaryOverall vibe was on point. Elegant music, and safe social distancing (outdoors)- yet still popping with people enjoying their meal. Our waiter Lavon was very professional and offered stellar recommendations. We orderedA passion fruit mojito - delicious as expected :)bourbon pulled beef flatbread - delicious pulled beef on a crispy flatbread.Cordon bleu- pastrami wrapped with fried chicken. This was special. Delicious blend of flavors and sauces.Toasted chicken waffles - never tried this combo before. Sweet and yummy. And we split a surprise steak - cooked medium and absolutely perfect. For dessert we had the lava cake.
My party was a huge success due to the whole bison and bourbon staff!! Levi, Victor, and Andrea were amazing!! The service was beyond great!! The food was to perfection! Delicious and generous portions!! The drinks were superb!! The ambience was beyond! The lighting the loft and the music set it to a funn vibe!! The venue was super cool for my photo shoot! It was an overall amazing experience! And they allowed me to use iit was so accommodating!!! Thank you thank you thank you!!!! I was so happy! Everything was exceptional !!! We will definitely be back!!
The overall venue is pretty however the service is terrible. Once we got our food we were forgotten about. We wanted to order more drinks but our waiter was nowhere to be found. I’m addition the appetizer we ordered was cold and the meat tasted freezer burned. They asked us to leave within an hour of arrival which is extremely unprofessional.I won’t be coming back and won’t be recommending this place. The fries and desert was good excellent but the overall experience was bad.
Great kosher steak/grill place for a date or meet with friends. Food is always great, fresh and a good portion. The ribs and cauliflower are an appetizer must! It’s always nice to visit the park slope area and have a great meal at the same time. I always try to have a mic of multiple appetizers to really diversify the meal.
These days with COVID-19 all Restaurants are only outdoor seating. Most of them having seating on the street which is not the best vibe (for some people). At Bison & Bourbon they always had an outdoor option which has a great ambience. So when looking to go out these days this was pretty much the best outdoor seating option! The food is outstanding so is the service, very professional staff. Overall great experience!
Oh where do I begin. Really loved the ambience of the place. The staff was super patient. We were there with a big crowd. They took time to listen and explain the menu and everybodys personal requests. Olga the manager was great setting us up. And Amina as our waitress did an outstanding job!!!. Thx to the entire crew for making this a great experience.
This place has a great environment, beautiful atmosphere and modern decor. For these reasons we decided to come here on our wedding anniversary. We called in to reserve a table (interestingly you cant make reservations on line) we got there and we were seated at a very comfortable table. We had a very hard time deciding what to order because there menu is not so clear and not so easy to understand (they have iPad menus which for some reason is not being used only for drinks) and thats where the waiter came in to help and was not helpful even though she tried.Finely we decided what we want and we ordered 1 appetizer 1 salad and 1 main dish, we didnt have to wait to long for the appetizer but after we finished it we had to wait very long for the salad, so far the food was delicious. However when we get our main dish it wasnt hot anymore (looks like it was ready before the salad) which equals that it wasnt so good. After waiting so long for the food we were at our full side, so we ordered another appetizer instead of a 2nd main dish.Right after we put in the order we got the dessert menu so we can order desert so we ordered desert. Looks like the waiters wanted to go home so the service became extra sufficient. The 2nd appetizer and dessert were delicious as well.
Id heard mixed reviews of Bison and Bourbon from friends, but Im very glad that I checked it out for myself. The food was delicious.Gnocci: light and fluffy gnocci and lots of mushrooms with some tasty meatBBQ Ribs: had a very nice BBQ sauce with a unique flavor that was almost buttery tastingPrime Rib: despite having to get it well done it was still delicious and juicy and had a nice sauce to go with it.House potato wedges: deliciously crispy and smothered in a flavorful ketchup-like sauceMy brother had the lemonana cocktail and it was not too sweet and the mint was blended nicely throughout the drink. The place itself is huge and great for parties. We sat upstairs and got to see a bunch of desserts come out with a firecracker and Israeli happy bihrsday music.Definitely recommend checking it out.
Came here with big expectations as we had heard rave reviews. When we walked in we were greeted by a splendid decor with a really cozy, dim feel , immediately impressing us. We started off with the BBQ ribs which I have to admit were a real disappointment the meat didn’t have that much taste and the sauce was thick and overpowering. I’m not the biggest steak guy so I went with the famous B and B hamburger. It was totally otherworldly and grilled to perfection. The onion jam was an excellent addition. My wife got the salad lyonnaise which was extremely delicious and unique (it has frisée). The beef bacon and poached egg really blended well together. Now for drinks we headed to the cocktail bar and got the Secret Orchard. It was flavorful and the apple brandy delivered a subtle kick. I must say the staff and service there was also extremely friendly and helpful. We are definitely thinking about going there again. Would give four stars for the underwhelming bbq ribs.
What an amazing restaurant not sure where to begin. The location is off the beaten path ( at least for me ) plenty of street parking nearby. Incredible design and well thought out space and the menu was very original. Drinks and food were great Ive run out of superlatives just go ✌🏼️
TL;DR Food is at best mediocre, drinks are waaaaaay too sweet, service was lacking, decor is cheesy, and no one asked for proof of vaccination. If youre not aware, this is a KOSHER place, meaning there is NO DAIRY on the menu and there are specific ways of preparing steaks, which means YOU WILL NOT GET YOUR MEDIUM-RARE STEAK! This is not their fault or a mistake, this is how Kosher food is cooked. Full review below. We met there for a friends birthday on Saturday night, before they were heading to a party in the vicinity. We were not asked to show proof of vaccination. The front patio is large, with some trees planted and purple floor lighting to give an atmosphere of a club. The place is also very expensive. The dinner came to about ~$140 per person. They also have a $50 per person minimum. Although the portions are large they are overall of poor quality and are not well prepared. Now heres the trick. The place is KOSHER, so this might be decent quality for Kosher food, although Ive been to much better Kosher restaurants. I do not keep Kosher but I am very familiar with Kashrut laws of food preparation. If you go in with expectations of a standard, non-kosher steakhouse you are in for a surprise. Knowing that I cannot get the steak made the way I would normally take it I opted for the salmon, because in general its harder to overcook salmon than meat. The salmon that came was so fatty and oily, and crusted in so much sesame seed that I physically couldnt eat it. Other people at the table had similar experiences. One person got the skirt steak, which was way over cooked. It was supposed to come with chimichurri sauce (a bright green sauce made with parsley and oregano) but came with some kind of odd brown sauce. Another person got the Applewood Smoked Delmonico that that was overcooked as well.A few of the appetizers were quite good, for example the fried cauliflower. And the vegetables that came as a side with the entrees were tasty. This is why Im rating it at 2 starts instead of 1. I think there may be some good items buried in the menu but they are not the headliners. The drinks were way too sweet, to the point that you couldnt really tell the difference between them. We tried the May Flower, the Cucumber Cooler, and the Passion Fruit Mojito. At the end I gave up on the menu cocktails and ordered a dirty martini with gin, which was decent. The service was very very slow. It took us about an hour to get our orders in. They did not keep track of who ordered what and one of the desserts was delivered to the wrong person. When the steaks were brought out they did not bring appropriate utensils and we had to ask three times to get some forks. When we asked for the check and divided it up no one came to pick it up form the table, although a server did stop by and tell us that they were closing and we needed to leave. A member of our party had to walk over to them and physically give them the check.Overall, if you end up going here manage your expectations. I will not be returning.
They aren’t practicing COVID protocols, the hostess did not ask or check our vaccination card and insisted on seating us right next to another party despite us requesting another table and the place having ample space available. It was foolish so we ended up leaving. New Yorkers are all practicing safety and sacrificing so we will only support restaurants that promote the same.
Nice vibe. But do NOT recommend coming to this restaurant. Each dishwe ordered was not enjoyable or tasty, except for the mash potato which was a side. Its not worth the money or the time.Im so very sorry I ha e to post this but we came out so very disappointed and sad.
The food was great, venue looked cool. The service was absolutely terrible though. Once we got our food, we were pretty much forgotten about. We ordered another round of drinks, took 30 minutes to arrive. At one point we thought our waitress quit in the middle of the shift. Will not be returning unfortunately. For the amount of money paid, the service should have been much better
My first time here and loved it! The food was delicious Freddy gave great customer service. I normally prefer to sit at a table rather than the bar. There were no tables available, so I ended up at the bar.The service I got,... I may very well request a bar seat next time. He knew the menu, what to suggest, how to accommodate my dislikes, etc.Bonus: he threw in a dessert knowing it was my birthday and the fact that he made 1 mistake. I didnt even expect that. I know no one is perfect and next time Ill order a bit dif based on this mistake.Thank you Freddy and Peter and the rest of the team.
Unfortunately we were not as happy as we thought we would be with the food. Hanger steak came cold and well done. Then I was too scared to order meat although I was craving it all week , I ordered chicken and waffles. The waffle came out soggy, and the chicken was not a bit better from a take out place. After two bites I gave up. Left it uneaten. I used to enjoy this place, but last night it was a nightmare. The waitress tried very hard, I give her credit for that. When the hanger steak went to the kitchen I was left with asparagus on the plate (the side instead of a mash), so they charged us for it. I dont mind it. But its a new low. We were seated in pretty much empty place where tables were available in the back where the cold air blew and it was freezing. We asked to be moved they said it was reserved. Yet no one showed up in the diration of our stay. Unfortunately, the atmosphere and the attitude of the hostess seemed to be an indicative of the food. And lastly, dessert..... Ill post a pic. The peanut crunch cake. It was a disgrace. A sliver, a smidge of stale cake with some sauces around it. It tasted really bad! The pic I took was before we tasted. It looks good, but it should never be served in a restaurant or anywhere for that matter. I hope we return one day, but it wont be any time soon.
Fries were hands down the best part of the meal. Mostly due to the fact they were the only thing with any salt added to them.If you intend to have a restaurant of a certain caliber and have steaks that cost over $100 on the menu, there are certain things that come with that. For starters, cloth napkins would be nice.
So enjoyed this place. The food was great. I had the smoked steak I forget the name but it was cooked perfectly. They are a little pricey and they have a $50 minimum pp. The mixed vegetables were very good. They only give you I think 3/4 potato wedges with your meal if that is the sides you choose. I got that even though I asked for mashed, but they brought me the mashed also and they were ok a little water logged but decent. Not what I should receive for this price point but hey nothing is perfect. The drinks were good and the cheese cake was good and the donut holes that the make fresh were decent. The salted caramel sauce goes really well with them, I didnt like the chocolate sauce it wasnt thick enough. The ambiance was great, I sat outside and it was a beautiful breeze and the night was perfect. I hear that their beef ribs where awesome. Go you would like them and also note it is a kosher location. 😁
1 star for the appetizers, the one we ordered were great. As for the rest, deserve a big zero, sorry guys. When i go to a restaurant, i like to enjoy my time with my wife and take all the time i need. Especially on our first anniversary.Reservation 9h45, at 10h10, i got my steak , the rib eye cowboy, whiche btw was completly tasteless, had zero seasoning, no crust , NOTHING to justify the price.. then at 10h20 (45 minutes after we’re seating) , i had my steak still going on , they suddenly brought the desert ( i wasnt done at all with my steak and fries), and 10h30 , they brought me the check saying ( everything okay guys? Please if you can pay we have to close ) ..Just picture the table ,, cocktail almost full, drinks still on, the big steak plate which im still eating on , and the big desert plate on the side of the table almost falling down because there is no space, and for the final the waiter just dropped the check on top of one of my glass of coke after giving up looking for a small spot to leave the bill,,Paid more than 300$ for nothing .. i will NEVER EVER come back , really, NEVERRRRRRRRRRR. I should have taken a picture of the table on the spot , that would have been funny,,Also , my wife who’s a burger lover , didnt even finish her burger, also no taste , no seasonning on nothing as she told meSAVE YOUR BUCKS AND GO SOMEPLACE ELSE, even a small fast food would be better for you
We were 12 people dining there. The appetizers were just decent.3 Delmonico steaks were returned bc they were well done inspire the fact that we asked them to prepare it medium rare. The replacement steaks had huge blobs of fat inthem. The other steaks were far from good as well. No intention to dinehere again.
This restuarant is located in the middle of nowhere but definitely a gem. The appetizers were super delicious and well presented. The 3 kind of steaks we ordered were also cooked just right and all credit goes to the excellent Chef, Lior. The place is very pricey but then all kosher places are.
Steak was tasty and good. Lava cake/souffle was not yummy, it had some sugar sprinkled over it, which was extremely weird and overall didnt taste good. The waiters service was great. He was quick and attentive. One big concern I had was that a worker kept coughing the entire time we were there. He looked sick. Especially during this time of COVID, anyone who is sick should be staying home. Sadly, there was no manager to speak to about my concern.
The place is gorgeous. the service is phenomenal. Courteous and professional waiters. The food was really great. They improved on everything in regards to the speed and the quality. The music is way too loud for me but everything else is just breathtaking gorgeous. sit outside or inside, upstairs or downstairs. go there for an enjoyable evening. they also have a great bar.
If google would have an option of 100 stars this restaurant would get it without a doubt. extremely impressed with the staff, service and the food is pretty good! it was an insanely busy night but every person got individualized attention. I understand why this place is so busy. try it and you will see for yourself. i will definitely return soon!
Overpriced! Asked for a burger medium rare with no mushroom and added an egg and bacon. It came out overcooked (well done), with an over cooked dry egg and barely any bacon and of course it had a giant mushroom on it. I cant speak for the steaks but the bad burger experience and high prices that dont seem warranted are enough to make me never go back. The space was nice however.
My wife and I went there and were very satisfied, we are on a very tight budget so we shared the cowboy steak and we were both full, if youre not big eaters that is one way to go out on a tight budget, the food is very tasty and the portions were generous, enjoy! On March 30th 2022 we went again and shared a cowboy steak which is now $76 and it comes with fries and stirred fried vegetables, the portion was generous but the steak was not as tender as it was last time, and the fries were missing salt, the ambience is nice.
This is the second time I have been to Bison and Bourbon. The first time was motzi shabbas and they had a limited menu. I was not very happy about making the drive and not being able to order what I wanted. So recently I decided to give it a second try. Im glad I did. I went with several friends and we had a truly relaxing and enjoyable meal. We had cocktails, appetizers and each of us ordered our own steaks. The steaks came out perfect. Exactly as ordered. I would definitely go back!!
I was there for dinner and I decided to give them 3 stars, first because of waiting too long for waiters and then the steak I was asking for the waiter told me that it’s not spicy and it was spicy!!, also the waitress needs to be more helpful and patient, and then I got the pulled beef and it was delicious!!, overall the place is a little too noisy, but I enjoyed the dinner and will recommend this place if you don’t care about waiting and noise.
I really was hesitant to write the review but it was so outrageous that I feel I must. It is clear that they do not give a hoot because they know there are so few Kosher restaurants around, so they cynically use it. The cost of drinks are unreal. What makes them think they can charge for a cocktail as if they are on the roof of the world? What a Hutzpah to charge for a steak with at least 30% fat the price of a one Michelin star restaurant (which they are not and will never be). The steak was below mediocre, with some over cooked potatoes and some roasted vegetables. We were 12 and I left there $1200. I felt I was robbed. I was livid, and will NEVER step there again!
This place is great to visit, enjoy a drink and apetizer it’s fine, but main dishes are really crazy, too expensive for a not well located area, really poor service, the food it’s not that good, I have been in better restaurants for the same price, not worth to be back
I dined here many times. The service is good and the food is great! There is always parking on the block. The ambiance is nice it feels like your dining in French quarters. And their tomahawk and prime rib is cooked to perfection! The extensive cocktail menu we have tried everyone one they all were so different and delicious. Try the tacos!!!
Horrible experience.I waited for the main course to arrive over an hour, then they told me it was a glitch in their system so the order didnt get to the kitchenwhile being moved from my original table to another table because they didnt have room for a big family.Staff sucks and not professional.Horrible experience, never have I left a bad review, this is my first.I would never go back there again.Thank for ruining my experience
Incredible place! From start to finish we were amazed how beautiful this place is, how attentive & great our server Fabio was, and most importantly how delicious the food was! My husband and I had a great date night, from start to finish! Definitely recommend if you are looking for a great night out! ❤️❤️
Very overpriced, dinner for 4 was $550. Food is ok - but definitely not worth it at that price, nothing vegetarian on the menu not good if anyone in the group wants anything except steak. Service was not good either - extremely slow and they charged us the wrong amount. They also add a tip automatically (18%) and then add space on the check for a gratuitiy which is really frustrating.
The most horrible experience I’ve had in a restaurant!!! Worst restaurant in NYC! Waiters are rude and need a lot of training. They didn’t seem to care to explain what’s on the menu and acted very UNSANITARY in the middle of COVID. We ordered a big steak for two and when the steak came, the waiters just dumped the plate on the table. Due to their carelessness, some of the food was touching the table. The waiters didn’t give us plates to eat from! They gave us potatoes that were clearly microwaved and spread ketchup all around it. Although I asked for a medium well steak, the steak was completely RAW. I felt like I went to a take out fast food restaurant that happens to have steaks. I paid $150 but felt like the experience was worth $60 at most. This was not definitely not worth $150!!! We wanted to have a nice steak house type of vibe for our date and we’re very disappointed. On top of it all, they have a required 18% gratuity! Of course the waiters don’t care about how they act! Do yourself a favor and DO NOT COME HERE! Never again.
I was very disappointed with the service we made reservations for 9 pm and only got a seat at 9:30. furthermore we watched as they sat down people before us because they were a family and i was just there with a friend. even though we had earlier reservations then them. The food was good except for the lamb which was dry and cold and i found it to be way overpriced. Also during ordering our waiter left twice to tend with somthing else. All the other food we got was good but overpriced for what youre getting. It is the first time i went so im hoping it was unusual and i hope to try it again one day.
I was there last night with friends and the food was disgusting I ordered the starter pastrami on pizza and it had ketchup instead of pizza sauce and it was cold then I ordered the filet mignon which the meat was Frozen in the middle and burnt on the outside and then when I ordered dessert I took a lava cake and the cake was cold and ice cream was melted and price wise was outrageous !! I hope you fix up this mess !!I go a lot to other stake houses I never had such a bad experience and so pricy
Called to make a reservation for 9pm for me and my husband, I was advised that they are booked for 9 but I could make one for 9:30 and that 9:30 was the last time for reservations. So we got to the restaurant about 9:25-9:30. Was told where the people were finishing up with a table and we would be seated. 15-20 minutes later the table was set and was given to another couple that got there after us. After complaining they gave us seating at 10. The two table next to us were chatting and done eating. Waiters kept coming by to ask them if they wanted anything more but every time, we’d attempt to call them over they would walk away. Due to covid we were sitting outside for an hr bitten up by mosquitos. We finally got a bus boy to come over. And told him to call someone. My husband went inside to talk to a manager and was told there wasnt any manager ans that we could get desert on the house which we didn’t want, we just wanted good service! At the point a waiter finally got to the table. I ordered skipping apps because they were closing in a half hr. The meals weren’t bad but was pricey for the portion size and the service. I called the waiter over for desert and was told they had two options left, he came back and said those were sold out but they had something else which we declined and asked for check. We got the check with two deserts put on it even though we werent receiving any! It took him another 20 min to get it off the bill the head waitress was apologizing but to get this kind of service is really disappointing. Wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone! We will not be returning!
Beautiful setting. Looks like a former warehouse. Soft techno music in the background. Laser lights dancing around the walls. Place can easily be turned into a night club. Service was pretty good. Peppered Steak was awesome. Appetizers are overpriced for what you get. DO NOT GET THE WINGS!! SL Stick with the entrees. The potatoes that come with the steak are excellent. The mashed potatoes that come with the steak are even better (creamy). Try to get both. Youll thank me later
Came here with my family we ordered cowboy steaks which really looked like skinny rib eye steaks.. and a tomahawk steak to share for 2 people, we were very disappointed the steak had no taste, under cooked, not the size of a tomahawk. When we mentioned it to the manager they DID compensate us which was nice of them.Over all space and vibe is nice.Tables were very sticky...
The pepper crusted steak was delicious the tacos 🌮 were really good. Califlower was good. And then the rest just went downhill the waffles 🧇 and chicken with facon just tasted strange, the cutlet itself was okVery nice ambiance. But for the price, I thought all the food should have been way better.
Avoid at all costs!Overpriced restaurant/venue owned and operated by discriminatory and unprofessional individuals.I wont go into too many details, but my fiance (who happens to be a guy), and I, initially attempted to plan our wedding reception here because we liked the space and style. We quickly realized that the staff was purposefully ignoring our emails and calls to get us to drop out, and we did. They are religious, anti-gay fanatics. Please do not support these people.
It was last Thursday we wanted to go out for dinner with four friends so we called in and made reservations everything was looking goodWhen we saw that we will arrive 20 minutes later then booked we called in and wanted to order so when we arrive everything is ready. But the guy knows phone told us that it’s ok and we should not worry at all. End of story we arrived and told that the kitchen is closed already and we could not get anything. We tried to ask for some help from a manager but with no success. Only think that we did got was bashing from the untrained workers over there with no apology whatsoever that’s customer service ❓Place looked very mismanaged
This place is over rated ! The food is $$$ and very fatty and oily! The place itself is very nice. The bathroom is really clean and modern looking. The appetizers and the foods on dough are good but the entrée are worth less ! The burgers on the other hand are very juicy and delicious. The drinks are amazing as well. This place is perfect for a drink and small bite.
Amazing environment, crazy experience, amazing food, every dish was awesome by it self, and i was actually Suprised by the amazing prices,. We started with the soup of the day which was vegetable and delicious is just a understatement, the size of the plate was amazingly big with a unique spoon, then we had some sides and finnished with the 24oz cowboy steak medium rare OMG that was so good, at the end we took a cocktail and it was heaven, will definitely come again, btw I dont know who our waiter was but they are very good at they job (even they was a little under staffed)
I and my wife used to love the place. It doesnt have an easy location if you are using public transportation and the food is not cheap at all. Nevertheless they were great. Recently something changed, I dont see the same waiters they used to have, which is I think as important as the taste of the food they serve.Menu still expensive but now you dont get a good service either. It is very disapointing to see a restaurant going down in your ranking list. I dont know when I will go out of my way and get to this restaurant again.I hope they improve their quality soon.
The place has a nice atmosphere, big bar and a nice selection of cocktails. The appetizers have a good flavor, and the steak was well cooked. There were some minor flaws, such as the place was not well air conditioned. It was a nice summer night, and the weather was nicer outside than it was inside. The cocktail i ordered came in a small cup, as compared to the other big jugs. The bathroom should have been more sanitary for a high end steak house. But overall, food was good, service was good and the desserts were insanely good. I would go back again.
Last Thursday 8/13 I made reservations with some friends for dinner, we drove all the way and while en route we called in to place our order over the phone so we have ample time before the kitchen closes, when the restaurant picked up the representative ensured us not to worry and that we will be able to place our order. We called in again to double check and were ensured not to worry. We show up at the restaurant and the waiter that greeted us tells us with a cynical smile that we are late and that the kitchen just closed. We tried telling her that we called in and she just laughed right at our face and WALKED OFF! we asked for a manager and EVERY WORKER thought ITS FUNNY. THE PLACE IS EXTREMELY MISMANAGED AND THEY DONT CARE FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. We drove a long way just to be forced to turn around and drive back home. NO APOLOGY.
What a great place! My wife and I came for dinner and are actually still here lol. Ambiance is excellent. Service. The service. Amazing. We stepped away from the table and asked that nothig be touched. They went ahead and cleaned the table, but not before having fresh plates with the food we had sent over. So when we came back in it was a cleaned table with fresh food. Amazing. Not sure if it was a mistake they corrected or they wanted to treat us nice. Either way Im coming back. I will send all my friends here. Oh did I mention the food way BOMB? Yeah, the food is awesome.
The noise indoors is too much to take! The tv, music, and people talking, along with terrible acoustics made it impossible to have a good time. Our ears were ringing! The restaurant itself is beautiful, our waiter took a while to come get our order but was very nice and helpful. And the food was good, nothing amazing...
Terrible experience the hostess she was rude , she looked overwhelmed , she needs some training , the way she talk to costumers , place look mismanaged, had a reservation for 8:30pm got seated at 9:10pm ,service was horrible , the waiter Need more training have no knowledge about the menu , the drinks are horrible I order a Mojito no taste nothing just taste like water with sugar . Asked for a manager , No manager in This! Restaurant , the worst part of this is no social distance !!!!
Nice atmosphere but bad acoustics .food was mediocre. Boneless chicken wings were rather tasteless with little meat. The filet mignon is overpriced at$67. The meat was ok but a small portion and lackluster. If you want to go for drinks ,I would recommend . The staff were polite
Great service. Great food. I chose this restaurant because I needed a nice kosher restaurant in this neighborhood and it fit the bill. Prices are expensive but the service was impeccable, the food was very good, and the atmosphere was chilled out. A nice place to bring not-yet-religious relatives and show them that a kosher restaurant doesnt have to be uptight or poor quality. I would definitely return here again.
We had the tomahawk steak. It was outrageously good - probably the best steak I’ve ever eaten. Highly recommended. The restaurant is huge and has great ambience. Our waiter though was completely zoned out, probably high, but the food was so good we didn’t care. (Maybe though they shouldn’t add an automatic gratuity. It results in inattentive waiters.)
This large and imposing structure, boasts a warm ambiance inside. A bit pricey when much of the food is either a hit or miss, now Ive only been a couple times but at each meal I found some dishes subpar. That being said though the service was amazing every time I went. Although kosher meat has a reputation of being a bit pricey I found the quality of some of the dishes to be at odds with such a hefty price tag. All considered though its not the worst choice when it comes to kosher meat.
Atmosphere is great, the location is beautiful and the weather was gorgeous.Foodwise, the appetizers were excellent albeit a little sweet, while the mains were not as good. I ordered the tomahawk medium rare and I got one well done and it took over 15 minutes between that one and the new one. Additionally, I had a Jack and Coke at the bar that tasted like Jack and Water.Definitely needs some more time to work out kinks, but a good restaurant nonetheless.
Tonight was my first visit here. Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience. The location is a heavy industrial section of Brooklyn. But once youre inside, the ambience is lively, trendy. The decor is very well done. Our reservation was honored timely and courteously.I was there with three guests from LA. They were thrilled by every aspect: service, ambience, food quality, portions. So why not 5 stars?? Two small criticisms. No coat check and no internet. There was a coat rack but it was self check. The maitre D kept telling me there was Wi-Fi but I tried numerous times and couldnt connect. (Maybe it was my phone, but I dont normally have a problem.)
Nice environment. Place is cool but the food is totally not worth the price at all. The best part of the meal was the steak salad...But for 34 dollars and fatty meat left nothing to be desired. Chicken sliders were dry, street tacos had no flavor and the chicken tacos literally had no flavor. It was like someone boiled chicken with seasoning and shredded the chicken and put cilantro on it. It was totally not appetizing. Drinks were nothing to care for and for a 300 dollar bill I expected so much more... Be mindful that they tag on a 20 percent bill on your tab regardless...so when you get your bill, look at that.
Never liked Bison and Bourbon to begin with but thought Id give them a second chance. I think the food is vastly overpriced, the experience is dull. In my most recent experience, I received the wrong order, never received a side, food was warm, unseasoned, lacked flavor. Id expect more for what I paid. Cocktail was watered down, unsweetened. Dropped $178 for two, was displeased. Will not be returning.
The food was good but the price was outrageous. The wait was insane and that was after making a reservations. They tell everyone they can take reservations and then you all wait around for hours for a table where they overcharge you on the food. The service wasnt great either. The atmosphere was by far the worst though. Loud like a school lunchroom from people shouting and talking and singing....
Weird service. Decent food. Asked for the restroom directions from the host that just sat me and she asked are you dining with us- the place was nearly empty. Super creepy vibe. Way over priced. Also, the bourbon list was laughable (and it included lots of non bourbon under the bourbon category.)Not a bison place. Not a bourbon place. Not special.Skip this place.
Dont let the nice appearance fool you. I went to dinner with a few people for a very good friends birthday. The waiter had no idea what was on the menu if their were any specials. They were out of most things on the menu. The salmon tasted like it just came out of a microwave. For the amount of time you wait for food, you can drive to the city eat and go home by the time the food is ready 😂.
We celebrated my boyfriend‘s 40th birthday last night, it was a surprise and everything went above my expectations. And the staff, especially the manager Cindy, worked very hard to accommodate all my requests and were very helpful with suggestions during planning phase. Big thanks to the waiters, Adonis and others who serviced our guests. The food, the service, and the ambience of the restaurant really made this a special night and one we will remember. My boyfriend was definitely surprised and absolutely loved the party. Thank you!
The food was top notch, but its the handcrafted artisinal cocktails and amazing venue that really take this experience to the next level. The courtyard is spacious and inviting, and decorated with just the right amount of charm. The drinks were like none I have ever tasted before. I cant wait to go back, even if just for a post dinner date to get a drink at the bar and munch on those chick peas!
Terrible service!Ordered for 11 people over 48 hours in advance. I asked for a prefix menu. I was told sure, thats actually the only option for over 10 people. I was further advised that the manager will call me to discuss. The manager never called. The day of the reservation, I called in many times only to be advised that the manager will call me shortlyI was called 10 minutes before arriving to be told that I cannot get a prefix menu cause they have to be ordered 24 hours ahead of time. I advised that my order was actually made over 48 hours ahead, they simply dismissed it saying sorry it wasnt communicated to me.I ended up paying double cause of their recklessness.Get your act together. And dont think that cause youre kosher that you can take us for a ride!!
I must say it was my first time at this restaurant and I was blown away. The ambience was perfect and the architectural design of the place was so original and really gives a good-feeling when youre there. There is outdoor seating as well as indoor and the food was exceptional. My recommendations for food was the BBQ beef pizza, wontons, and lamb sliders as appetizers. The tuna tartar was quite tasty as well. Our waiter Mendhi was really nice and always came to us to refill our water or to see if we were okay. Going to a restaurant of this caliber, service is very important and Im glad to say Im very satisfied with the experience. Thank you bison bourbon!
I dont get how this place exists. We stumbled on it by accident and from the outside it looks really cool. But inside has kind of a sports bar vibe and yet Prices are those of the Four Seasons. Which might be ok if the food were up to scratch but it was somewhere between mediocre and horrible. Had beef Wellington (coming in at around $60) - soggy pastry and the meat was dry and unpleasant tasting. Thoroughly depressing dining experience.
I hosted a party with their special 70$ package and it was a horrible experince. The portions were so lousy. Definitely not worth the 70$ per person. The waiters were so unprofessional and i had to ask for bread and condiments over and over. One of my guests ordered salmon and soon after she was told they were out. I complained to the manager how small the salad and soup serving was and she did not agree with me. I go there occassionally and i know certainly the soup portion i get is alot more than what they served at the party. I usually have a great experince there when i go with a friend of mine. This package was a total let down. I was so embarassed for the guests i brought there with me.
Bad service. Return a steak for bad seasoning & received the same steak over cook back after half hour. This happened with two items. They made us wait for over half hour each time plus changed us full price for bad food & horrible service. Way over priced, they 36 ounce stake is not even 20 ounce. The 20 ounce stake is not even 14 ounce. Dont waste your time going to this place. They ruined Im birthday.
I have been to several kosher restaurants, and let me tell you, in this area you wont find a better dining experience kosher or not.The waiter that served me was very friendly and helped me pick out a delicious meal. Also the price is great. Im definitely coming back.
Just visited for the first time last night, didnt know what to expect and was really taken with the beauty of the custom made railings, balcony, stairs leading to it and the ceiling. Beautiful and inviting. Had a wonderful dinner sipping a mango margarita and devouring the tuna tartare.
Unique place for kosher!Very large. Retro, hip, urban. Food spectacular, service spectacular, ambiance spectacular. Loved it all.(Vibe is a bit out there and contemporary. I could understand individuals from the insular communities feeling somewhat uncomfortable. Secular music and TVs at the bar, etc. )Otherwise, a wonderful experience.
The place was so bad, went with a party of 13, the food was disgusting, burger was not cooked at all, it was extremely raw, looked like they cooked it for no more then 2 minutes. Even after they re-cooked our food it was tasteless, bread was soggy, feench fries were to oily. They were hardly staffed, I dont blame the waiter for his bad service. Worst part of all, they were extremely over price, 30$ for a terrible small burger. Not ever going back
Excellent place. Great kosher restaurant and very local.. Great staff and awesome menuUpdate: This is my 4th time coming to the restaurant. The staff was very accommodating and kindly changed our reservation when we couldnt make it on-time. We requested a outdoor table and we were seated right away! The ambiance for outdoor seating is breathtaking and second to none! Our server was Robert who was the best and made sure we were taken care of, 1) he gave us some outdoor eating tips to make sure flies dont get into the food (dont worry it was OUTDOORS) 2) we had a issue that we werent in the mood of one of the dishes that came to the table and he didnt hesitate to switch it for something else and he was very knowledgeable in the menu! From what I heard and the past few times i was there the food wasnt the best and that it took time until the food came out, BUT it looks like they listened and stepped up to the plate and the food was amazing this time and the food was out to our table before we could blink and thats why I upgraded them to 5 stars since they listened to what people were saying!Note: Please let patrons know when a dish is going to be on the smaller side. Example: We ordered the chicken waffle and were expecting at least half a waffle but only a quarter came out and for the price we paid we couldve gotten more then a 1/4.But overall awesome job!
Took ten minutes to get water and 20 for bread. Ordered several appetizers which came quickly and were ok overall. Not memorable in the slightest.Ordered chicken and waffles as a main. 45 minutes went by and it never came. Manager came by asking how things were and I inquired about my dish. He told me it would be a few minutes . It never came but was marked on the bill as compd, despite never having showed up. Absolutely Disgusted. Will not return despite working ten minutes away.
Terrible food. It’s a really bad sign when you don’t want to finish a $62 dollar steak. It was barely seasoned, over cooked on the outside yet somehow undercooked in the middle. And it was definitely not Prime beef, it was supposedly a ribeye cap, but had no marbling at all. Sides were all cold. I suspect they automatically add the gratuity because so many people refused to tip. And seriously, for the price you could go to Peter Luger, Keens or any other real steakhouse in the city. Either drop the prices or fire the chef. Or Both.
SCAM ALERT! MANDATORY 18% GRATUITY FOR EVERY GUEST, ANY PARTY SIZE. RUN AWAY.At $28 the bland cheeseburger is actually $33. This is the cheapest entrée.Our waiter asked us what wed like to drink, I got a beer, my girlfriend ordered a sparkling water with a lime. Instead of a glass, with ice, served from a bar gun, like all other places ever, our waiter brought out an open $8 (actually $9.50) 750ml bottle of Pellegrino. For my gf to drink by herself? He told us the 6(!) menu items that they were out of; since they were what we were ordering he offered us a minute to pick from the small menu. Thats the last time we would ever see him. After a long wait even the manager noticed, came over and said that clearly our server was working a lot of other tables. That was already clear, usually the managers job is to keep the place staffed. The manager personally took our order for said $33 burger, left us to watch tables get seated and served before us, and finally returned with it. After finishing the bussers came by and cleared our table, but no one ever came by with a bill. I saw our former server and our now-server/manager chatting up front, I was hoping it was about us, but alas not. After waiting a while longer I had to go up to the manager at the cash register to request the bill, stand there while it was printed out, and take it back to the table myself. 5 star service! Why not just put the real prices on the menu?! Tip-free restaurants are already just putting the higher prices on the menu, with a note about an upcharge for service being included in the price. (Ive eaten at many like this without complaint)I know gratuity is implied at all restaurants, but here theres NO way not to pay, not being upfront about it is clearly disingenuous for profit.Hinted at but not entirely clear from the name: this place is kosher. That and being next to the Bell House I think they get a lot of one-time customers with specific dietary constraints, so they can charge astronomical prices with rock-bottom service and get away with it.
Rip off, price fixed menu hardly served a party of 20. $120 a person and needed to order $700 more food. Manager is a jerk. Charges for food that was not ordered. Demanded payment in full in advance..... think they knew we were on for a screwing???? I do!!!! Keep away!!
So first let me make clearWe are a good looking coupleI shower every dayI get a haircut every monthWe were seated,no reservation means at the big tableNo back on the stoolsWhile tables were emptyIt was not busyNo menusWe sat there waiting for menusI asked for a menuNo waterWe sat there waiting for waterI asked if we could get waterNo waiterWe waited for someoneSomeone .... are we ghosts? We leftNobody saw us leaving
Very disappointing overpriced food. Ambience is amazing although I prefer more lighting. Service was very slow. Portions very small. Priced way over the top for Brooklyn. I would pay this price or more but I want something like tfusion quality and service. Heading back to tfusion! Wish I had read some reviews first
The place is beautiful and I must say the service is outstanding. My car broke down and the manager literally went above and beyond helping me, he literally saved me from disaster. Absolutely incredible, Ive never experienced such a helpful staff in my life!! Shout out to manager Seth and the rest of their crew!
Great food but staff need to be better trained and have more common sense: steak is served with a steak knife. If there are steak sauces available, tell me about them when I order a steak. Desert is served with a desert spoon. If my date asks to have no meat in her dish, come back and tell us the sauce itself has meat in it instead of actually trying to serve us a literal bowl of plain noodles. Silly stuff like that keeps the place from being four stars.
Update August 4th 2016: After our unpleasant experience, David - one of the owners, contacted us to apologize and offered us to come again, with his reassurance that he will make sure that our reservation was upheld, which was very nice of him.We went very late one evening, nevertheless the service was great even though they were out of a couple of items. Overall our second venture was a pleasant experience. We are not adverse to going again but are not rushing out the door either.July 28th 2016: We called up to make a reservation and they told us that they only had space on the bar and that we couldnt make a reservation for it but to walk in as there is DEFINITELY space on the bar for 2 people. So we drove out half hour but there was no space whatsoever when we got there. The choice was to either wait 2 hours for a table or leave. Needless to say we left. Dont make the mistake of trusting them.
Great appetizers and drinks. Loved the tacos and flatbreads. Order the tropical mojito (you will probably order a second). Steaks are good but not great. If you like filet or lean steaks, there is nothing on menu for you (that is my only knock on the place). Duck breast was fabulous, highly recommend. Overall, very good meal and atmosphere.
Table for two and one order of the cowboy steak tasted like any of the shoprite supermarket steaks. Had a salad and soup for $140 plus tip. Asked for an itemized receipt so i know what im paying for and they said they dont have one... At the very least close the door its freezong outside lol. i should of went to my favorite place sparks steak house. Over priced for not so tasty food. I asked for orange juice and i got the fake orange syrup from the bar section. The only thing i liked was the decor was nice and the bathroom was clean.

2022-03-14Was at this restaurant and I really liked the atmosphere. The ceilings were high and they had very nice music playing. The food overall wasnt exceptional to my liking but it wasnt bad. The food came really fast and the staff were really nice. The Tomahawk steak was the best thing i had there!!! It was literally the best steak i had in my life but other than that nothing was super good.

2022-03-15I recently went to this fine kosher steakhouse near Brooklyn. The ambiance was amazing, and the decor was tasteful. Speaking of tasteful, the food was amazing. The menu sported classic dishes as well as, pulled brisket flatbreads, chicken and waffles, prime rib gnocchi, and much much more. They also had a line of various spirits and cocktails. I shared the surprise special which was 24 ounces of mouthwatering surprise steak with a choice of 3 side dishes. I got the mashed potatoes which were smooth and creamy. I also got the bison potatoes wedges which were seasoned and crispy. The grilled veggies were cooked well, and they included delicious breaded cauliflower. We had a fantastic server, who was super friendly and very efficient. It is a bit on the pricier side, but it is a great place to got for an anniversary, birthday, or a celebration of any kind. A major shout out to the hardworking staff!

2022-05-10Wonderful atmosphere, great food with incredible presentation, fun drinks. But, sadly, service not up to par for this price point. 4 of us ordered entrees and the 2 salmon entrees arrives 10 minutes after the steaks, steaks were ordered medium rare and one came well done and the other medium well, the teas ordered with dessert never showed up ...They get 5 stars for food, but 2 stars for service, so averages to 4 star overall.

2021-12-28Food was good. Service was so so. Staff was pleasant. However, our appetizers came in an unpredictable sequence. Our mains also were served at different times. Waiter needed to be reminded about water and about the bar order. It was a busy night, so that may have contributed and it is tough to get staff these days. There was also a private event going on upstairs and they were talking using some kind of loudspeaker. But overall our party of 4 enjoyed the evening.
