BJs Wholesale Club in other cities:
🛗 Elevator is always having issues. Today was the worst. They actually have their employees and customers holding shopping carts on the escalator to go from floor to floor after shopping. Imagine if an employee gets hurt from straining their back or a customer has the cart roll back on them! 🛒 🔙 The elevator should be inspected and repaired regularly since they choose this area as a location to conduct their business at! Its in the basement so spend the money to get it repaired or get a different location!
Management and cashiers: The lines were really long during the holiday so I went to customer service with my handicap mother who was in a motorized wheelchair to check out. Associate Karen and her team member were very disrespectful refusing to help cash us out because she wanted to go on break. She refused to scan the 8 items so I lessened it to 5, she then refused to turn the items to scan the bar code (claimed it wasnt her job) and then threw my change at me once the transaction was completed. Manager Carol was very helpful sending a different associate over to finish the encounter. At first Karen and her team member suggested they were in charge so that their actions would go unpunished, they need a more serious repercussion then just a talking to.
Worse BJs location. Only 1 elevator working in this establishment for at least 3 months. Lines are ridiculously long to enter and exit basement. Moreover no one seem to know when elevators will be repaired. Its insane that authorities havent shut this BJs down yet. Visit this BJs and youre sure to catch covid or get stuck in the one elevator that is working. No one is safe entering this establishment. Its a big fire hazard and everyone is cramped together at the elevator waiting to enter or exit. Im reaching out to all local news channel next. Im beyond annoyed at this point!
Aside from my online order, I purchase extra items at customer check out. After that I got all my items off the floor at bjs, but I waited for at least fifteen to twenty minutes to recieve the reciept for my online order. The lady upfront was unable to assist me. I had to wait for another person to help me. Very frustrating!!! Note: The young lady who helped me at customer check out for the online items was helpful.
Best BJs in Brooklyn in my opinion. Clean; organized, well stocked, and helpful employees. I only shop in store so I can not speak for pick up. The cashier was pretty disinterested and not very engaging but I honestly expect as much from someone working retail during a pandemic, or anytime. It’s hard. Otherwise really chill easy experience. And we went on July 4th!
Very poor customer service , if you ask for a Itemwhere can u find it in the store the expression on their face and most time say I dont know like you bothering them especially cashiers they are the worst. Basic customer service you would think at least they would do by saying if they not sure where the item located by easily saying ( hold on give me a minute ,let me find out for you,Iwill be right back) .
Same day pick up needs to be improved. Although the actual shopping happens quickly and the groceries are ready usually before the expected time. When you get there, it takes them forever to bring the items to your vehicle or to even answer the phone if you call customer service after you’ve checked in on the app. You might as well spend the time shopping yourself.
.Come on BJs....The prices on food items are getting a bit ridiculous, many items are cheaper in supermarkets around Brooklyn (milk price is good and the bagels are some of the 👌)I am not saving money on many items! Recently I overheard a worker speaking loudly to another using foul language. Do they not know they represent BJS? And management could you tell your reps to answer the phones, please. One other thing, why around the entrance of the building and elevators are so filthy at the Canarsie location.
Im here right now as Im typing this for store pickup. Save yourself the headache and shop in club. The lady at the counter paged someone 6 times. She even called the person by name. It wasnt until 20 minutes later that someone came to see about the order. Poor service and even worse communication between the employees. People were visibly frustrated.
You were selling possible metal contaminated bagels for a month at your stores in VA, NY and NJ. I saw in social media people raising question, posting recall letters but there is no information at your websites. It seems you are hiding the facts from us. We as honest consumers deserve the truth. Please stop deleting posts about this concerns.
Got birthday cake with personalized message right away for about half the price of other places. Some said frosting was overly sweet. Others gobbled it down! Also good for bulk things you always need and use. I stopped my membership for a few years as I was over spending on things I didnt need. Im better at limiting to my list no extras! Love it.
I went to BJs on Remsen avenue, in Brooklyn today. I picked up 2 packs of ribs. I saw the meat man putting them out. Once I self checked out I smelled a fowl smell. Both packs of the ribs where terribly spoiled. The packs was not packaged properly as the blood was leaking through. I then had to stand on the service line for about an hour before requesting to see a manager. I still had to wait for another 20 minutes. It was clear that this store was selling spoiled meat as both packs were rotten, and as a loyal customer I was inconvenience for too long. Prices are no longer a bargain at BJs and the products and services need to be better.
On more than one occasion Ive had to return items that were not fresh/good. Last week, I bought an apple pie from the bakery for an event. The date was fine but when I got home and took the lid off, I noticed a small green moldy spot. Very frustrating.Although I understand the value of buying things in bulk and wholesale, I have come to realize you have to be strategic when shopping in sections like meat, fish/seafood, bakery, etc.. I now ask for items from the back that were most recently delivered. That makes somewhat of a difference. Its so frustrating to buy items and then have to take them back. Nobody has time for that! Too often Ive taken the loss because I dont have the time to take stuff back. This location need to do better!
The lines are really long and the cashiers take forever to cash you out. They really need more help at the register like Costco does it.Most of the elevators are never working. Pure nightmare.lol I wish they carry more organic products, especially in the bread section. The bathroom is really clean though so that’s great.
Somehow this store made the decision to have self checkout and did not plan to have adequate/sufficient support staff. Not, did it seem that a survey was done of their customer base and utility of self check-out. At this visit, the lines curved around and extended back about 3 aisles. I waited in line for an hour. Thanks to great customers who helped each other out by allowing people with 1-3 items to go ahead of them. Will be a long time before I revisit this store.
I have been a BJs member for over 10 years. This used to be my favorite BJs. But customer service had gone down the drain. Sabrina and her team members have not helpful. An item was supposed to be in stock and they never looked for it. Fast forward to the next day. Sat over 35 minute waiting for curbside pickup for the same item. I had to come into the store and spend at least another 20 minutes. Terrible. Will be reconsidering my membership.
Waited in self checkout for (15+ items) over 1 hour. Customer service is terrible, managers/superiors aren’t doing their jobs and have nasty attitudes. There were only ONE register open for my line. They refused to open up more or delegate the ones that were open for the line that was 15 or less. Bjs is an establishment that encourages their customers to buy more so therefore we should not be getting penalized for have 15 or more items.
As someone who worked in this store for 5 years (2012-2017) I have a more intimate experience of how this store runs. So allow me to throw in my 2 cents on the matter:1- there was a massive management change that went on in 2016.2- the current general manager of the store has brought morale of the store way down from the time he got there to the time I left. It is still going on today.3- the current overnight team (which I was a part of) also has gone through some changes and some very good workers have left. There are some good workers who remain but the team is burnt out.4- the current overall management team deals with a lot of stupidity from customers, its own employees and is also burnt out.5- the customer is NOT always right.6- the cashiers who you complain about most, have no patience to deal with your nonsense. People call out sick in that store quite a bit and they get stretched thin. Remember that when you complain about long lines at the register.7- Finally, the store overall has its flaws the employees are over worked and underpaid for the nonsense they have to go through every day. Being a fair man, they do have some good people working there. Promote them to the store manager when you can because they do not get even a job well done in that place very much.
I should I begin with the disability discrimination since it’s the reason why I absolutely dread coming to this location? To be looked at in disgust because I inquire about then request access to use the motorized vehicles is one thing but to have all of that done to me then be rudely shouted at that I am not elderly therefore I don’t need one is another. This is three visits in a row. The manager would be alerted of their door bully but they called back to the customer service desk 3 times to see if I had left yet. After 25 mins, ruined plans, an upset child and with my triggered disability, I left to salvage what plans had already been ruined for my evening and holiday. Here I am ready to shop again for the month and trying to figure out where else to go besides this nightmare, where all the staff stops and stares throughout the store. Not offering to help and giving attitude when you ask questions so they can give unhelpful and slow answers... with the exception of a handful of good employees along the way of course. Smh. Did I mention the inconsistency with pricing and how the coupons never ring at the register? Did I bring up how there is no signal in the store and your coupons leave your app when you try to navigate the clunky clip feature before you get to the cashier that has no clue how it works? There are never in store coupons. What is the point of this place again?
Overpriced scammers. Dont be fooled by the coupon hype... its a scam. They raise the prices and then give you a coupon so its works out to you paying the original price that is also VERY expensive. I tried my theory by documenting sale vs non sale prices. Also, this location is also very crowded and never enough staff to manage the chaos. Plan at least an hour for check out.Ive experienced unprofessional staff here who gets attitudes when asking for assistance. Cashiers are slow and spend time chatting away with each other.Save your money and shop smaller local grocery stores that you actually get your bang for your buck!
Managing customer flow is ridiculous at the Remsen Ave location. Even if you are not making a purchase and just need to use the bottle return machine when there are no one using the machine, you are told that no one is allowed into the building because it is over crowded in the shopping area. The bottle return machines are no where near the shopping floor at this location. The machines are located on the upper level by the parking lot. That horrible customer service. I am going start giving my business to Costco.
The lines are always too long . I went there on Sunday 9/10. I was on lane 2o & the person in front of me took about 1/2 hr to check out because she was looking for coupons with the help of the cashier . The cashier should have told her they cannot search for coupons while checking out because it holds up the line & its a total disregard for the people whose waiting after her. When it was finally my turn I asked the cashier about a price & she had a very bad attitude & she was very nasty in the manner in which she spoke to me.
After 1 hour of calling to verify the availability of a product ; i finally was àble to speak with Ms.Lashawn (supervisor). On the other end of the phone line , this young lady spoke so professional and delicate while she describes the product at time .Initially, i was surprised by the soft tone of her voice because often times I encounter the opposite.Four hours later, i visited the store , put a face to the voìce and express my appreciation.Thìs young lady is mellow and very helpful to consumers. , I hope consumers gives her the same energy she shares .The gold medal goes to her.
I went to order a cake and the theme was Minecraft, Very popular game if I may add, and not only did they not carry it in their cake catalog, she also said they werent able to use a pic from somewhere else due to copyright 😑 they lost me as a customer due to this.. I said Ty have a nice day
Remsen BJs. Today I had a very bad experience with staff & manager . No good customer service. Response to questions “kissing teeth & sighing”. Give me Costco customer service anytime. BJ needs to do an update on check out coupons at register. It should not have to be on the customers phone. What about people that does not have a phone or even know how to work an app. There was no assistance with this from the staff.
Workers are rude, lazy and quite unprofessional.in fact i was once told by a cashier that i should not take up a perishable item with no bar code.I honestly was looking at the quality of item not the bar code ..i believe thats the stores job .Needless to say this worker was actually promoted go figure. The supervisors are just as bad.otherwise big store, good prices.the new self cash...is amazing dont have to deal with the attitudes.Store organization needs work...and they dont always restock items they had before.
While yes the lines maybe long at times for the most part its my preferred BJS location. I am of equal distance between this location and Gateway, and unless I have loads of other things to do I always come here. The store is clean, neat, organized, the deli counter line is rarely long (if there is a wait at all), the prices are competitive, and the staff (there are always one or two people that tarnish and image) is friendly and most of all business place appropriate.
Earlier today I went to the gateway BJs to return a pair of shorts. Upon entry I was stop at the entrance by an employee asking if I was returning, once confirmed she told me to wait...So my child and I waited as this woman twirl around looking for something/someone; I had no clue. Finally after what seems forever, she went across to a staff desk and returned - announced I guess to customer service a female customer is returning a short. This however, was such an awkward and time-consuming process. Upon further inquiry at customer service I was informed the policy was always there but perhaps not reinforced. If this is a policy BJ wish to maintain, there clearly needs to be further staff trainings, so customers are not being accosted at the entry, making it feel like youre in locked down vs. BJs
The line in this bjs is always long something needs to be done pertaining to the lines, not everyone come to spend the whole day at bjs, it takes 10 minutes to pick items up and you spend 45 minutes in line waiting to check out, some customers are elders why should they stand so long, this is ridiculous
This is one of the worst BJS locations. The store is located in the basement. The customer service is very poor. The check out lines are horrendous because the employees are always playing around with practically little or no supervision. The elevators hardly work or are always out of order. You are extremely lucky if one of the five elevators is working. Management should work on implementing some of the comments immediately.
The only bad things about this store are the deli counter is slow and the checkout lines are slow. Our experience is that about eight out of ten times visit the deli counter here is only one person serving customers, which makes the line long and slow. The checkout lines move pretty slow a lot of the time and here are usually few lines open, and sometimes at the busiest times of the day (i.e. afternoons and evenings, 3 - 8).😞
OVERDUE REVIEW: Ive been a member since 2002, which means Im very familiar with the retail giant. In 2012, there was a visable change in management to the extent where I was treated by employees as a potential thief. At every visit, I saw members opening food items and eating, and during my membership the thought never crossed my mind. Now under this management, Im being treated indifferently by newly hired spanish employees. Historically, there has been gang wars and fighting over jobs between spanish and blacks. However, when it comes to members vs employees, no employee should discriminate based on skin color or hair texture, or assume Im stealing when you are new to the store, not me. Im disgusted by the low morale, ignorance, brainwashing, and hatred being spread by management. How can you racially profile a paying member? In addition, the prices are ridiculously higher than other locations.
This is the worst BJs I have been to for 2 reasons:1. Notorious inventory control:To buy BJs 2% milk half gallon at this location? Forget it. It has never been restocked properly. It is always out of stock. This is one thing I couldnt understand: BJs 2% milk half gallon is mostly available at other BJs locations while it is mostly OUT OF STOCK at this location. Do the managers run the predictive analysis to have it restocked to meet the demands? If BJs does business like this at other locations as well, it could go under!2. The Mad Man of shopping cart:Whenever you see a free floating shopping cart in the store, you cant take it to cart your purchases. It belongs to a Mad Man BJs employee. If you dare to take the cart and he sees it, he will yell at you saying: you cant take it, and you have to go up to the ground level to retrieve a cart in parking lot. Again, it cant be understood: what policy is this made out by an employee that shopping carts are not for customers while sometimes there are some carts on the shopping floor? I went into an argument with this Mad Man once. He wanted to fight with me and the other employee had to step in to stop him!
This BJ’s is the worst. On Thursday 03/22/18 I put in a picture cake order to be picked up today, Saturday the 24th at 8pm. Something made me call them at 6pm to check on the status of the cake. Once I got through, I was told that the cake decorator called out from work and any cakes that were supposed to be ready after 6pm are not done. At this point I am livid. So nobody thought to call me? If I hadn’t called, I would have gone there thinking all is well and I would have had no cake. It would have been too late to go anyplace else as well. So now I have to scramble to find another cake at the last minute. Luckily I was able to do so, and the night was saved. It was very unprofessional how this situation was handled. What’s the point of taking someone’s number if you’re not going to use it? They should have called me as soon as they knew the cake wasn’t going to be ready so I didn’t have to rush around like I had to. I will no longer shop at this location even though it is closer to my house. I will travel elsewhere. This location is not professional.
I have never been to a BJs or shopping establishment where they made it difficult for people to actually shop. This elevator situation is deplorable. Find another way to make it convenient for shoppers to get to the shopping floor quickly, and hasslefree. A ramp or an escalator this is ridiculous and I question why is this happening in this neighborhood and not at other neighborhoods or other BJs.
So far I believe this is the worst BJ’S Ive been to. This Place is pretty much in the basement. None of the escalators was working yesterday we had to wait for the slowest elevators to come take us downstairs. Most of the BJs Ive been to have a self service line that you can check out your self. I will never go back to this one. 😑
What a disregard for customers. I counted fifteen closed registers and I approached the manager to kindly open few more registers and she told me that every business inNew York operates with less staff and she was not opening anymore registers.I had a cart full of items that amounted to over two hundred and seventy dollars. If I had not driven from afar, I would have left the entire cart sitting right in the line. I am going to take my membership to Jetro or Sams Club.I challenge BJS corporate office to improve customer service around New York and theywill see a change in employees attitude. If customers are treated with lack of respect, how do you think employees are treated?
A very big whole sales with not enough staff and when asked for an item that in the website says is on stock, there answer is we have them but is not on the floor yet because we are short on staff. So I asked how can I be able to get the item I was told call every day to see if we put them on the floor. So Ive been calling and the phone rings and rings with no one to answer the call finally someone answer and I was placed on hold for 30 minutes and in the end I was hung up. Thats very unprofessional very disappointed.
Terrible, 4:00 pm on a Monday one person at member services. The other employee walked off Im guessing it was her break. I mean its a wholesale establishment so one cashier seems absurd particularly as you have a long like forming. By far the worst BJs ever. I thoroughly regrets visiting this location, the BJs located in Westbury and even Green Acres mall have far better service. I would give zero stars if possible.
The worse cust. Service ever. They really need to stop their employees from having cell phones and outside conversations with their coworkers while dealing with customers. Their language is disgusting ! They dont greet the customers or thank the customer for shopping with BJs. You need to give them some cust. Service training !
Purchased an Air conditioner a little over a week ago but it was too small for the space in my room..the salesperson insisted that it would fit because it will extend even though i tried explaining to her that it is not for the window... took AC home and it was indeed too small for the space.. decided to return it but couldnt find the receipt...called the store and was told that it was okay to return without the receipt since i used the BJS card.. i get to the store and now customer service desk is giving me a store credit... dont know why they cannot credit the original method of payment.... worst experience... i even asked if they can credit my card if found the receipt... especially since i had 90 days to return it...dont plan to shop there anymore...hope they go out of business
Can NEVER get through to anyone when I call this store. The phone will ring out for 30 minutes if you let it. When I went to the store the line was soooo long and all because the cashier was waiting for a supervisor to come over for something I hope something is done for this sad store
Worst bjs in NY , almost every item is priced higher . I stopped shopping there, gallon of milk 289 other bjs 249, pure honey 10.99 other bjs 6.99 , apple juice 2packs 9.49 other bjs 8.49. its only to name a few . If you dont believe me go to a different bjs to check prices, you will save some money.
This Bj is the worst they have manager who’s not even have interest of their business, I order groceries online I went to pick it up because I left my card at home , they have me come back home without my order, even I have the picture of my member ship card , this happen today 6/1 @6:50 manager don’t care because he thinks no matter what he still got a pay check
My name Amelia, just coming out of BJ,and I must say I am extremely disappointed with the service that received from the staff in the baking departung. My cake was all messed up.First all all I wrotedown exactly what I wanted, they wrote something else ,when I complained, their response was a have a lot of cakes back here.Thats not my problem,I feel I am paying and should get what I ask for.The cake was returned to me half way covered with all the icening coming off,by the Tim I got on the bus all my clothes was a mess.Shame,Shame Shame on the staff of BJ.BJs needs to train their staff better, customers service sucks.
Theyre not reliable,, I dont understand how there is so many employees working over there and when you ask for something there clueless. I even try to call customer service, first of all they put me on hold for a very long time and when I finally was next no one answer the phone. I feel sorry for the one that who do they work that pretend to work
Worst store ever, long lines that move at super slow rates, maybe 4 cashiers for a store full of people, dont come here ever, go to other bjs store, and there are plenty of people walking around that could be another cashier they just dont care here, and the produce isnt fresh as other stores, this place sucks and just wasted 2 hours of my life
I had to wait 30 minutes for someone to come to the electronics dept. Walked up and down searching for someone at 2pm in the afternoon to no avail. Went to manager twice to page someone. Finally someone came and other customers grabbed them before me so I had to wait again

2022-01-19I purchased a number of items for Curb side pick up, the efficiency with which the order was ready for pickup was remarkable however upon getting to my house there was a mistake. I ordered two containers of red seedless grapes, I received I container of green grapes. I have trying to reach them by phone to correct the error and in both times to date the phone rang in excess of 7 minutes without someone picking up the phone

2021-12-29I used to dislike this place because of the long lines.... However the Express Pay option in the BJs app changed all of that. Picked up everything that I needed headed straight to the door, they scan the QR code, and I was out.

2022-04-25Hello!.. Bjs bakery staff you people need to serve the public better than this. I want thank the lady for trying. I placed an order days before and hoping to present my daugter with a beautiful princess cake and this is what I got . This was very unprofessional and choice of color showed this person has no experience. I Would not order at this store again. My daughter was very sad.

2022-05-20BJs is my go to place for buying groceries in bulk! I shop by category. So one day itll be cleaning supplies, next time, juice , and then another day, breakfast goods. Just works easier that way for me and I dont run out of things for a long time! I rarely shop in supermarkets, theyre too overpriced!! But I always buy my meats from a butcher. Love BJs!! Prefer to shop wholesale than retail!Thank goodness they built the Canarsie location!!

2020-01-14In terms of savings, you cant beat BJs prices and quality when comparing it to bodegas or your local supermarket. However, today I notice a new BJs and granted Ive been shopping here for a while now. The employees are more engaging. I was taken back when I was greeted and ask if I found what I was looking for or am I looking for something specific. 👍 I thought the BJs employee was talking to someone else, so I had to look around. This is a wonderful change of experience. I gave three star because there are located on the lower mezzanine, and the elevators were out so if you need wheelchair accessible call customer service ahead of time to ensure the elevators are working.

2018-09-13BJs is your one stop shop for everything you need for the family, household, party, event etc. Everything is packed in bulk so buy knowing that any perishables have to be consumed quickly. Hands down BJs is for the big family, the event, bbq, party you might he having where you need to buy in bulk for prep. They have a bakery as well, ready to go cakes that you can get a name added to for no extra cost. They do also have their own branded items as well at lower prices so keep an eye for that as well. If you arent a fan of waiting in long crazy lines, try to visit middle of the week and not on the weekends.

2020-02-16Great place to buy bulk, frozen foods, canned goods, snacks and drinks. But please be careful when buying meat, myself and family members has had several experiences with OLD/EXPIRED packages of meat being sold. Wherever Im shopping if Im purchasing meat which I try not to but from there I always check for the expirtation date.

2017-11-21Great place for bulk items, sometimes you dont realize how much you save buying in bulk for certain things. Sometimes buying the house brand Berkley & Jensen is not bad, sometimes its either a close second or you cant tell the difference between them or the name brand, like paper towels, detergent, burgers, etc....
