BJs Wholesale Club in other cities:
I had an overlapping membership with BJs and Costco for some time and BJs is really horrible compared to costco. The membership price is only a difference of $5 regularly but its not even worth it with their occasional $25 membership. BJs has taken advantage of COVID-19 and has been using it as an excuse to not take returns on hundreds of items. Their customer service is only on par with run of the mill grocery stores. Costco is definitely a few cuts above BJs and Costco is worth a membership for excellent customer service, better prices and selection of products, and just feeling like you are getting something for the membership you paid for. BJs is not even worth the $25 membership because its the same as going to a regular grocery store, not worth it at all.
I been shopping at the Deer Park store since they open, I dont usually write reviews, but my experience today made me want to let people know how I was treated, front the entrance to the person directing the line everyone was so nice, very helpful, i even come across a situation one of your MANAGERS ERIC was so helpful, Deer Park Bjs STAFF are the best. Keep up the good work guys👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I tried to return a orange juice that was opened when I had purchased it and this young ghetto men that is called a manager named parth was very disrespectful to me! He said that the return was denied like my card was because I had obviously stole the orange juice! Very unprofessional I paid money for this orange juice for him to disrespect me like that! He also said that’s how I raised my kids! I am so unsatisfied with my visit in bj’s deer park. This young man should not be a manager because of how unprofessional he is and began to record the the argument and went to go show his coworkers! Very very unprofessional will be calling corporate really soon!
I was a member of BJ’s for a few years and from time to time returned my bottles there. Whenever I went to the customer service counter, the person never asked me for my BJ’s card. Now that I’m not a member, I went into the lobby, waited 15 minutes for the woman in front of me to finish, and then returned my bottles. Then I go to the customer service counter to get my $4.85 and the woman asked me for my BJ’s card and I didn’t have one. After going back-and-forth with her she said there’s nothing she can do for me and so I left. I sat in my car for a minute and said no, this is ridiculous. It’s a New York State law. So I go back in and ask for the manager and then she comes out and tells me that I have to have a card so I said to her there are no signs anywhere saying that you have to have a card to return your bottles. It’s a New York State law... I returned my bottles to your redemption center now you owe me five cents for each one of those bottles. I asked if she was the manager of the whole store she said no and I told her to bring out the manager of the store and then he came out and more words were exchanged and they did end up giving me back my $4.85. It’s not about how much money it was. I don’t care if it was a dollar it’s about the principle. PUT UP SOME SIGNS!!!! Then the assistant manager tells me that they’ll do it for me this time but they’re not gonna do it again. Why the heck would I come back and do it again? So now you’re calling me stupid? If I encounter anyone and they’re thinking about deciding between BJ’s and Costco, I’m telling them to get a Costco membership because that’s what I’m doing!
If you forget or lose your wallet, good luck shopping here. Not even sure what the point of having my photo in the system is if they wont use it to identity me. Absolutely terrible customer service. Costcos customer service is light years better and going forward they will continue to get my business, bjs wholesale.. Will not.
I just recently started shopping at BJs and found the prices were ok. Some better than others and some not worth....however the biggest turn off for me was seeing a huge rat scroll right by as I was in the sugar aisle! That just creeps me out! Buying food from a place where they have rats. I understand its a huge warehouse but these things must be kept under control.
If I could give them a zero star I would that bakery department is the worst. Two occasions they ruined ...at the last minute canceling on my ordermy sons graduation cake the day before they claimed the machine was broken that places the picture on a cakeSecond my sons birthday party ruined because the day of the party they claim the machine again is brokenI will never shop again at this BJ’s
I had a superbowl party this year and a friend of mine brought a 3 Italian hero to the party from Deer Park Bjs. It was delicious, they were not skimpy at all on meat or on the cheese. The cheese alone was like 2 to 3 layers, perfect amount of lettuce and tomato. Although at the same time it was not so overstuffed that you could not bite into it and not soggy because it was stuffed with tomato and lettuce instead of cold cuts. The bread was super fresh and delicious. Even today 3 days later having a piece for lunch its still tastes great. Everyone at the party actually loved it! This will be the place I go to anytime I need to order a hero. Just beware that they do not cut it so you will need to ask if you want it cut.
My experiences at BJs prior to today have all been extremely positive. Usually the customer service is excellent and you are always greeted with a welcoming smile. Today however, I was shopping with my teenage son, who was wearing a bookbag because he was going to the gym afterwards, and upon exiting he was asked to open his bag so it could be searched. Since when!?! They already have the policy of checking every item on the receipt. Its an annoying method of loss prevention, but its done to everyone so that never bothered me. This however, was different. The audacity to single my son out and invade his privacy because you think he looks like someone who would steal. My son is such an amazing young man who in no way deserves to be insulted in this manner. I am thoroughly disappointed and angered by this situation, and will be taking my business elsewhere.
Plenty of staff all hanging out in the vestibule area (the front where the carts are) well after opening hours, saying oh were closed till further notice mostly rude staff with the exception of some of the cashiers. Get ready to play bumper carts with the stock people loading up the shelves
Been a costumer since the day Bj’s opened. I Never have a problem until last night at Register 5 Transaction 2622 Cashier: 354894 11/17/17 08:23pm. His name Daniel B. To General Manager Amanda Sullivan. The service experienced and customer service given by Daniel B. A person without education and disrespectful, showing an attitude and been rude! This individual never finished my transaction and just walked away showing the middle finger... I’m trying to contact Bj’s corporation. To Management: I hope you shall take the appropriate action to ensure no repeat of such a bad experience to any customer!!!
Good Prices, helpful employees, a variety of brands. Many items available from food to small appliances, beds, clothing, electronics, jewelry, luggage, seasonal items, etc. Great deals can be found at 50% or more off department store prices at different times on particular items.
BJS Tire service is the worse service experience I have ever had. I purchased tires from BJS a couple months ago, price includes, balancing, flat repair and rotation. I have a flat so I filled tire with air which was just enough to drive here. Got here at about 9:15 am, told the guy that I have a flat that needs repair, he immediately said he has no idea how to repair tires the guy comes in at 6pm,,, what??? Went in the store spoke with a manager Ashley V, sorry the guy comes in at 6pm......asked for her district manager, he is off today, store manager is also off. Called their home office the representative offered me $10 for my inconvenience,, is this a joke or what. Spoke with another manager Danny W, had to take him to the parking lot to show him my now totally flat tire, his solution was to take it to Mavis Discount Tires to get it repaired. Did I mention that this happened to me about a month ago, got there at 9am the tire guy showed up at 10:45. If you are shopping for tires DO NOT GO TO BJs, service is horendous......
Bought Del Monte crudités on SaturdayWhen a served it there was rat feces in the celery. I called the store and they told me someone would call me back. No one did. So this evening I went to the store with the crudités and my receipt. I waited 45 minutes to be told that someone would get back to me I am never going back
At 1 oclock on the afternoon of July 27, I was shopping at Deer park bjs. I left my wallet in the shopping cart. When I went home, I immediately went to the BJS store to find someone to help, but I regret that the staff said that you lost in the parking lot, we are not responsible. I am very anxious, because there are three thousand cash in the bag, when it was helpless, I am very sad why no one helped me check the surveillance and broadcast? Finally, I found it under my own hard work. Why is a chain agency not coming out to help customers?

2022-03-21Bj deer park is racially profiling black people at check out, Bj is a good company that implement diversity and inclusion. However there is a old racist person at the check out line. I have never experienced racism like this before at bj. Sonia the check personou let latino people walk out without counting the items in their cart. I get to the check out she wants to count everything thing in my cart. And refuse to give my receipt. 2more immagrant female managers came, humillated me even more by counting every item in my cart while coutunied to let people go without counting their cart. The managers told me they would speak with her. Mellisa assured me she would handle it after she embarrassed me more than Sonia.Melissa walked past and rubed the racist sonia arm and told her everything is ok. This is racial profiling at its best. This has never happened to me before at Bj. Sonia at bj definitely is wearing her racist face. Immigrant from the Spanish speaking countries are very bias towards African American people. Who are AMERICAN BORN. Again bj is a good store.but Sonia and Mellisa will bring should definitely be suspended from the store. Alot of African Americans are racially profiled by some of the Spanish speaking employees. Bj please address this issue before it escalates.

2021-09-29This store is a hit or miss for me. I used to go to the one in Westbury all the time because it frequently had my items needed in stock. But since relocating Ive come to this store a few times and sometimes it has the products your looking for but most of the time if your list is long, you will not get every item because they arent stocked. Especially if it is a hot coupon item...forget about it. Your essentials like eggs, milk, cheese you will find a variety of. But things like chicken wings/other meat products and a lot of drink and snack options are scarce/ limited.

2021-11-13Just wish to give a shoutout to managers Rena and Renee at BJ’s Store in Deer Park, NY. I had an issue with an employee, after requesting a manager I was referred to the ladies above as they were both standing behind the Customer Service desk. Immediately they both were very respectful and concerned about quickly resolving the issue; which they did and the action appropriately involved the aforementioned employee which allowed us both to apologize and come to a respectful meeting of the minds. I myself am a retired retail employee of 30 plus years, and very well understand the challenges the retail environment can present. My hats off to you both Rena and Renee. Bless you both. Amen! KBP.S. My fiancée and I left the store feeling very much like valued customers; as well the original employee above was left with his dignity intact.

2021-08-27The cashiers who come to work in the mornings are so nice deserve some type of promotion. I usually use self checkout because lines are always so long they always have 2 or 3 cashiers open while the self checkout people stand around doing nothing the cashiers are the only ones who seem to be overworked in that job. POOR GIRLS DESERVE BETTER. I come here weekly and see them struggling when I need assistance the girl her name is Alexis never wants to help and is always chatting away she makes you feel like u did something wrong if you interrupt a conversation with a worker for help. do the job. the attitude on that young woman is HORRIBLE needs to never work around people again. May be going to a different BJS location soon so sad to see I used to love this place

2021-04-17Usually I avoid the deli due to long lines & the deli workers not being so sanitary. Yesterday I noticed the the deli worker Crayson, cleaning his work area & then he changed his gloves that he was cleaning with, put on new gloves to assist customer. When I saw that I was at ease and ordered a variety of lunch meat. Crayson was very knowledgeable & accurate when I placed my order. He had speed & accuracy. All of the customers were pleased with their short wait time. He is definitely an asset to the deli dept
