BJs Wholesale Club in other cities:
Staff needs to be retrained they are almost all rude and not helpful I have had it here waiting for someone to help ring in large sodas juices because they take the gun scanner and insist on doing it for the customers yet no one comes to help on self check out and when u ask for help they roll their eyes and suck their teeth its your job lady if you dont like it work elsewhere not in customer service and the gas station a DISASTER fix this location
Beware, the customer service at this location is very poor. The majority of the cashiers lack respect for the customer. We as customers, pay a fee to purchase at BJs. This is not a free service, we as customers dont need the bad attitudes and disrespect from all this miserable people who dont want to do their jobs or dont want to come to work. Listen, I get it no ones life is perfect we all have our ups and downs but if you work in a customer service field check your attitude at the door. Dont bring your problems to your job. Trying to get a hold of the manager is like trying to get a hold of the pope. My experiences here have changed my mind to renew my membership next time around and I rather drive a little more and go to Costco.
This store is ghetto. Bad customer service , no clue what theyre doing. I usually go to Costco where they have professional trained workers, usually 4 at customer service. Bjs had one lady ,and after waiting 10 minutes to renew my card she wanted $144. I left the food behind and wont ever go back and ive been a customer for 15 years.
The customer service leaves something to be desired. Needed propane but forgot my card. No biggie, I’ll just pay the non-member price. Was told I can’t buy propane without a card (untrue). Then was told that the propane is not sold after 5 pm! How do you shut down propane sales at 5 when most people are getting off at that time? Also, not knowing the policy was off putting as well. I waited on the line for 20 mins to be sent off empty handed.
I went to BJ’s on Monday 08/23 to buy a birthday cake for my granddaughter who was turning 6. She loves chocolate so I picked up a half sheet cake labeled “Marble Cake” with chocolate mousse filling. Needless to say when we cut it after singing Happy Birthday it was Vanilla with some type of vanilla cream. My granddaughter ate 1 small piece and started crying cause she doesn’t like vanilla cake. I was now in the Bronx and found a BJs close by at 9pm to purchase a cut piece of chocolate cake that they sell. Birthday party totally ruined for her. And this is not the first time I’ve had problems with that store. I brought some Old Bay hot sauce not paying attention it was expired. Had to return it….. disappointing.
This is my first time to give a one star. I am very angry at todays customer service clerk. Because he lied to me, he said their staff made a mistake and put the promo tag early. He cant give me money back until monday and right now I cant return food even if I just paid right now.Today, I went to shop there to buy some groceries. I bought two boxes -- Raymundos caramel flan. I found the price did not match the price tag. I took a picture of the price tag and went to customer service to get back my money. A guy dressed in a black polo shirt, checked the computer and the picture, and then he told me this promo not yet active. If I want money back, I need go back on Monday and I cant return that because pandemic. I told him I didnt go out the market gate, just left the checkout machine. I asked to talk with manager, and he said he was the supervisor.Oh my god, this person could be a manager.I went home to check the price tag picture, the promo expired 11/25/20. He is a liar, he checked the computer he knew everything. Maybe he thought I was an old woman and my English is not good, so he can do what he wants. But I must let everyone know.
Yet again, I come for propane, park my car, walk all the way inside the building only to be told the one individual qualified to sell propane has been assigned to work at the gas station. Why not just train multiple people to do propane? Is BJs so impoverished they cant have a bit of redundancy?
Why do they never ever pick up there phone. Yesterday I went to Bjs with my mother. I hate the customer service there. We were in the self checkout cause we know it will be faster. Something happened when we passed an item and we need customer assistance. We waited like 5-10 minutes. My mother went to tell a man in a black shirt and he just ignored her. She then went to tell a women and she just want to another checkout. Well a girl came and she was lazy and looked like she doesn’t like her job. BJS TREAT YOUR CUSTOMERS BETTER PLZ JEEZ
I have really bad experience in that place I went there to buy a queen mattress,is is a bunch of queen mattress , but I notice one is more soft so I decided to get that , the sign say queen mattress $250 went I go to the register to pay is $800 I call the manager he take almost 45 minutes to show and he said he can’t do nothing why they have $800 mattress mixed whit $250 mattress that not my fault he’s the manager he’s the one has to check everything because is no sign the said that mattress cost $800 poor service the manager name is jerry
Great location, staff are always helpful. Like the express scan app which allows you to scan items with a scanner or phone app while you shop and lets you self-checkout. Kids love this too and keeps them entertained. Saves time and it is stress free. The sales reps should fall back as they can be super aggressive when trying to sell you on a product. Parking lot is nice and big but feels congested regardless of time of day. The Dunkin Donuts shop is an added bonus.
I usually go to the BJs in Farmingdale, I love the variety and the employees are very helpful and polite. But when I go to or from Freeport, I stop at that one for gas. I went inside on 2x and I didnt like it because it is much smaller and the parking lot is small and cars are to close to each other.
Customer Agent Alex made my shopping experience so intimidating. I came to shop for my family after suffering with severe COVID-19 . There was Lysol wipes for sale and I picked up one for myself and my disabled Elderly cousin who cannot get Around her own so I purchased one for her and one for myself . Alex approached me as I was waiting online and stated it’s one per customer I said okay . He stood over me and said but you have more than one . I said so does the other customers whom are checking out in peace before you why are you standing over me and it’s also COVID-19’ what are the distance guidelines I don’t need you to stand over me I heard you . Alex says well your not leaving with more than one wipes I said okay can you please leave meAlone . You can’t pick what customers you want to stand over and harass and I’m a women you do not ha ve to use intimidating Body language to gain compliance . While waiting on line to pay Alex approached me again In a aggressive manner and stated didn’t I tell you that you can only have one . I said to him three customers just checked out In front of you with more than two why are you harassing me you . I think is behavior was totally unacceptable and he does not have interpersonal communication skills is this Bjs mission to make consumers uncomfortable while shopping its a disservice to this establishment and what happened to the customer is always right I have never felt so uneasy when shopping
Horrible job by the manager at BJs in Freeport in regards to opening the store to the general public after senior hours. Long line waiting for the senior hour to be over (which is a GREAT service) and then at least 10 people that hadnt waited in line for half an hour were able to go in before those that had been waiting by standing at the senior doors. Danielle D did nothing to stop it and then proceeded to heckle us when we complained by saying STOP COMPLAINING be happy youre getting in... Seriously? This is not what we need during these trying times. He was the absolute worst manager Ive ever seen.
Placed an in store pick up order. When I went to the customer service counter to retrieve it at just after 11am, there was only one clerk processing a very lengthy transaction for a couple. There were still 2 customers ahead of me with items to return. I decided to go and get the item from the shelf in the computer area, went to an express line and was done quicker! Only thing that slowed me down was the cashier on line 2 had just turned off her light & couldnt ring the 1 solitary item for me. I was on cashier #1 line & although customer had many coupons, she was pretty quick!
Someone needs to tell BJ’s in Freeport about the Virus and social distancing. I just went there and left. The store is packed. Disgraceful! Cashiers with no masks and customers with neither.I also belong to Costco which is where I will only go now. Costco limits the number of people who can enter. You can feel very safe there.Shame on you BJ’s
Getting out of the parking lot stinks and its very dark in the parking lot at night. The Deli line is super slow and so are the workers, but with the one exception Rob the manager. Hes fast. The check out lines are a disaster, plan to read a book while on line. Other then that the store is Great!!!
Be very careful at checkout- watch closely. My cashier rang up 4 items twice, and got annoyed with me for looking at the display. I had to go to curtesy line to get $80 credit. I will put my stuff on the conveyor next time. When you leave goods In wagon you rely on cashier too much. I think the woman who rang me up deliberately rang items twice.
Be Very careful when buying a television in the Freeport, NY store. The manager herself told me that they have different prices that all BJs are not the same. Here’s my experience: I exchanged a 43” Samsung for the 50” Samsung ( looked it up online first & saw “out of stock online...pick up available in store). No problem with the exchange but they charged me Full price..$429.99...Not the $329.99 that it was listed for online. When I see this I try to correct the cashier but I end up over at Customer Service with the Manager stating that they don’t honor the online price. We’re talking about a hundred dollar difference here, and that’s huge! So I take a ride over to the Westbury store...and the SAME tv is on the floor with $329.99 hanging above it!!! Took a picture of the price sign and headed over to Customer Service, who was more than happy to refund the $100 (no need to call a manager). I even took the time to go back to Freeport to educate/inform the manager...who was Still just as NASTY as before, and that’s when she said that all BJs do not charge the same. So Buyer BEWARE when shopping in Freeport, NY.
I’m truck driver and my first time delivering here water. I arrived at 2am morning and pick up was from Hollis Center Maine. I was thinking about to make delivery earlier and go to parking lot because there’s traffic delays all the way to GW bridge. Receiving starts 6 am, but they only take by appointment and my appointment was at 12pm. I understand if there’s a lot of trucks delivering but it’s not that much, lazy receivers they don’t even let you back into dock until your appointment time even if there’s no trucks to be unloading front of you. Horrible, Receivers dissatisfied faces, arrogant people, no smiles, wasting your day doesn’t matter if you tired or not. Now it’s 12:30 and still not docked, local truck driver also not happy with them. I’ll never come back here again. Costco, the Home Depot, Lowe’s and even Walmart are better than Bj’s to make delivery, they’ll try to you get empty even you come 5-6 hours earlier than your appointment.
The internet is frequently down, the hand held devices for shopping and a quick check out is often not working. The ice cream is always soft and who ever is in charge of keeping the store stocked with product is definitely slacking. I went to the BJs in garden city and couldn’t believe the difference in quality and cleanliness. The Freeport bjs is the worst. I’ve even seen brown meat and always smell a musty odor in the water bottle/ soda aisle.
When safety is important to you, reconsider parking in the 100 Mill Road, Freeport, NY parking lot.I parked 4 rows directly in front of the entrance where their security camera is mounted. My gas cap was ripped off and all the store manager could say is that shes sorry. Their cameras dont service pass their sidewalk and the handicap parking. Apparently vehicle vandalism isnt uncommon there.
When I need food in bulk, this is the spot to go. But itll cost you MORE money in one shopping trip than one trip to the local shopping store with LESS food. If you do it carefully, you can save money. Nice location too and plenty of parking. Right next to it is a gas station if you need to save money in gas, go for it.
Terrible store in terms of pick up service! No one knows what the hell they are doing! My pick up order is always wrong! no explanations, it takes 20 mIn to get to get your order , only to check and see that is wrong!! thry dotn even check themselves!!! pathetic defeats the purpose of SAVING TIME WITH PICK UP!
I am aware of covid 19 and I am aware people are frightened but you CHOOSE to work here we waited in a long line to pay and watched a cashier continuously be rude to customers about social distancing if you are THAT afraid do NOT work in this line of work but we were standing in number 8 cashier line around 11:30 all this woman kept saying was GET BACK ok no harm there but everyone was way more than 6ft wasay from her and each other we informed her that there are no signs posted about loading groceries and what to do when loading groceries she kept yelling at the guy in front to step back and yelling at me to not load groceries while his 1 item was on the belt lol like in most stores it says stop and load groceries here 1 at a time and they dont provide dividers lol and the woman wasnt even using her plexi glass partition if your that afraid DONT DO A JOB WHERE YOU ARE WITH PEOPLE plain and simple I work specifically with covid patients and I cant understand how this particular bjs operates I choose to work with these people therefore I accept the risks i NEVER make a patient feel badly for being sick same concept here BJs should never make customers feel badly after a cashier is continuously rude to social distance 4 customers have mentioned this I cant imagine how many more are out there GET IT TOGETHER BJS!!
Was at self check out and waited about 15 minutes for someone to help me get authorization for a coupon the red light was blinking for 15 minutes and the machine is screaming someone will assist you momentarily... well it wasnt just my machine about 3 were doing the same thing NOBODY offered assist anyone and cashiers saw us all and nobody seeks assistance last time I EVER come to the Freeport location again
Customer service is constantly the worse of any other BJs. the signs for each island is only on one end of the island. their stocking procedures are really bad, they run out of decafe Kcups, when I asked one of the managers, why they do not preorder, I was told that its out of his hands, that the restocking policy will be changed.
I came to Bjs to Visit the bakery department to order a birthday cake for my son.The workers in the department didn’t speak any English and it was hard to place my order.after using an app on my phone to translate,I placed my order and left.when I returned the following day to pick up the cake there was a lady that did speak a little English. However my cake was wrong and the lady was very rude.i will be going to westbury from now on.
I was very disappointed with customer service. I waited on line to speak to a rep and there was one rep who tried to appear busy just so she didnt have to help anyone. I got her attention and not only did she give misinformation she appeared to be annoyed when I went back to her for help. Yeah thanks Jamie-Anne ( I believe that was the name on her tag) for nothing. Maybe they should put her in the back somewhere so she doesnt have to deal with the public.
My daughter and I filled up her car at BJs today; we selected Unleaded Regular, for $3.45/gallon. After we left the station, we looked at the receipt, and we had been mistakenly charged $3.85/gallon for Premium. When I tried to call BJs later, Customer Service hung up on me three times. I intend to not renew my membership when it becomes due.
I have been coming here for many years. Their gas prices are always lower or within standardsDepending on where you go, the Freeport BJs is a bit smaller than other ones. Waiting time can be a little longer.I usually go to the Farmingdale one, or the Levittown BJs to shop. No gas at Levittown one. But Im a single person and enjoy shopping in bulk.

2022-04-25Your gas station is a NIGHTMARE! I’m sure there’s plenty of people like me who only go to BJ’s mainly for gas and are fed up for months that there’s nothing being done about the clusterf&&k going on in the parking lot. You have people that are too dumb to move all the way down the pumps while you have people going through the exit to cut everyone else off and block the exit for people who are trying to leave. Considering canceling my membership to go to Costco where they have people outside directing people. ATLEAST BLOCK THE EXIT THAT NOBODY USES WITH CONES SO THE PRIVELAGED PEOPLE CANT CUT AROUND AND MAKE MORE OF AN INCONVENIENCE.

2022-06-12This store needs new management. To be blind to the fiasco that is the gas line constantly backing up onto Merrick Rd. shows a complete disregard to customers time. I have turned away numerous times as I have not been able to even enter the parking lot because of the backup of cars waiting for gas. Instead of easily fixing the problem by closing off the gas entrance and directing the cars forward through the side lot and have them enter through the back by where the air pump is and then exit back onto the side street, this would alleviate the backup situation. Now I just go to the Lidl store in Merrick, the milk and eggs are cheaper and the fruit fresher. The rest I rather just go to a supermarket. Time is money. I would go in to cancel my membership but I cant get in the lot.

2022-06-05I worked in Bjs in Freeport Long Island for 2 yearsI don’t recommend anyone to work there. They force their employees to work in every department, regardless what you applied for-with no extra pay. The “managers” Jesenia, Erica and Anthony all lack professionalism. They treat you nasty and they work with favoritism no matter how much experience you have!Human Resources do not help. All of the employees quit within a week because of how terrible the workplace is. And when they quit, management does not step in to help, the work load of 20 lands on one person. This store does not care for their employees!

2022-06-14I dont think this management team has ever ran a business before. Have personally witnessed staff ignore people that needed help, cleaning staff nearly run over customers with the mopping cart they use, axes unsheathed and loose, parking lot ragers, not to mention the gas station is a complete disaster that spills onto the main road.

2022-05-17Worst managed store to deal with on line or by phone. No one answers the phones. Can not get an answer to why gas area is closed off. Tried corporate and been on the phone with corporate for 45 minutes now.On line it says the gas part will be closed between Oct 16 and 30. Last I looked it is May !

2022-04-28I ordered items online to be picked up 4\/28/22 between 9 & 10am when I did not receive a text to pick up, I headed to the store where I was greated by Jeff. He quickly looked into the matter and brought out my order.

2022-05-04Edit- they actually made the gas station worse by closing one of the two entrances, forcing all the cars into one limited entrance. This place is a joke. The design of the parking lot and gas station were not thought out. Currently four pumps out of service. There’s always at least one not working.

2018-07-05Since they hired new people, shopping has become more pleasant. They dont have as much inventory regarding pet products because the store is smaller than other locations. Checking out always takes long so that is why I rate it 4 stars.

2021-09-11Such a bad experience zahira one of the cashiers was so rude …. U guys need to hired experience cashiers that can give a great costumer service not rats not coming again … hire a more professional team member bc that lady is not the one …when i requested a manager or supervisor she did not even call him
