Not professional at all. Years ago got my tattoo done at the old black ink shop. I had to go back several times and wait longer than my time was supposed to. One guy was supposed to do my tattoo but instead Dutches did it.. not what i expected from a $300 tattoo. Was done quick and its not as realistic as i wanted or thought. the sketch was perfect but not the tattoo. the sketch took longer to do than my tattoo. I kept going back and emailing afterwards to get it touched up and was basically getting blown off. Now i wanted to get another tattoo from the new black ink shop And most likely its the same unprofessional staff because i emailed them about a tattoo pricing they responded once saying send it to a phone number i did that. Waited for a respond nothing. Emailed another day saying i aint get a response and yet still nothing. Dont waste your time with them. I can see from the last shop and now they the same and dont care about responding. Gotten much quicker response from other shops.
Very nice and clean shop. Cool atmosphere. I dealt with Uriel very cool dude. I undwrstand they have a few other spots in New York and other states. Its on 50 West 125th Street in Harlem.
Tried to be first in line on a Saturday. Door said 11:30 open but i was told later it was 12. Came back around 2 and was told i wouldnt be seen till around 6:30. Receptionist was very helpful tho trying to fit me in. I was only in town for the night so i had to pass. The price was extremely high as well so be prepared to spend more than expected

Then I challenge myself and did it, kind of strange doing this at 46..... ELIJAHs work is tight, the environment was over whelming, became crowded as soon as I sat down, groupies stopping through throughout the session... Could Ive just been lucky that day when I stop by, maybe........ it was fate to me..

Everyone was chill & had a good experience but a month later both mine & my fiancé tattoos look 5+ years old missing ink everywhere & raised in others. As a learning tattoo artist, I know when a tattoo is being over worked, he used a 3rl to pack ink in, and when I said something to the artist I was told when done right you can pack with a liner. Obviously the tattoo was not done right or I wouldn’t have a horrible looking tattoo & neither would my fiancé. You would think the over priced tattoos would come out smooth especially at such a well known shop.
Got my nose pierced for the first time. LadyDay who did my piercing was absolutely phenomenal. She was super mindful about changing her gloves after she touched anything that wasnt my face which I really appreciated - especially with Covid. She was also super informative and friendly! Highly recommend. P.S. dont forget to tip your piercing and tattoo artists.

If you go to Black Ink on 125th, go to Kevin (@tattoothetown)! He did my tat a few weeks ago and its PHENOMENAL! Absolutely breathtaking! Kevin was really nice, and very detailed about his work. I truly enjoyed working with him; hes a fantastic artist. Very professional which I appreciated. The organization of the shop itself could use some work. Before getting the tattoo there was a lot of miscommunication between myself and the establishment about my appointment. I got redirected to multiple people telling me different things; some things I should not have known. That was the only bad taste left in my mouth from the shop. Other than that, once there, everyone was very nice and welcoming. The shop had a cool atmosphere and the employees were very cool. I would recommend going there.
If I could give no stars I wouldI was supposed to get a tattoo by a tattoo artist named Alien my appointment was at 4:00 pm when I walked in the front desk manager “magic” ask can he help me I said I had an appointment with a tattoo artist he said we do not have anyone down for an appointment at 4 pm we can’t help you when I showed magic my proof of booking an appointment/deposit he called for Alien. The artists Alien was more worried about missing his bus/train and complement him I shouldn’t be able to book him than being professional about the situation. It’s wasn’t until Magic the men at the front desk said to give her the deposit back then that’s when he wanted to say you know what I just do it and leave a different time... For me personally I was over it after I paid to get there from Brooklyn. when I ask if I had to pay another deposit if I go to Brooklyn they said no but I called and asked and explained to the manager what happened. That’s when Alien said tell don’t LIE tell them I was going to do it.
A big disappointment!!! I came all the way from Texas for this tattoo. I paid $100 for a tattoo that only took 15 minutes. I had no beef with the price because I thought I was getting exceptional work done.Big mistake! Fast forward a month later and the tattoo lines are not sharp/clear. The coloring is uneven. I can see my skin through it. And part of the tattoo has faded completely away. Ive only had it for a month!Ive now got to go to another shop (one I know is reputable for sure) and pay more money to have them correct Black Inks poor work.I wish I could include a picture for you all to see
So is it true that the shop on 125th is now closed, permanently?Also, the crew from the show is just a cast? Like youre not gonna walk in and see Donna or Bae?
My family and I came to NY for a visit and one of my top places i wanted to visit was Black Ink on 125th so we stopped by the shop to just look around and possibly take picture (being that its our 1st time in NY) but whoever the older blad gentlemen didnt seem to like our presence in the shop if we were getting a tattoo or piercing? I explained to him were from out of state and just came to visit the famous Black Ink shop and we were told well yall aint buying anything so take your pic and hurry up needles to say we didnt even want the pics anymore after the rudeness from the Black Ink staff! Im sure Cesar wouldnt appreciate the rudeness
I went yesterday and the receptionist (who originally said he was the shops manager) was very rude and aggressive. He made the shop feel cold, stuffy, and uncomfortable. He acted as if he did not know who my tattoo artist was and that I’d come to the wrong place. He made me wait in the sitting area, making it a problem when I tried to talk to my tattoo artist Kevin about what I wanted done. But after all that my artist Kevin was great he completing warmed up my experience and did a wonderful job tattooing what I wanted. It was exactly what I invisioned; he was very professional, friendly, and clean.

My experience with Crystal was memorable. She was able to take what I wanted and add a twist to it that made me want to get the tattoo even more. Great artist with a personality too match. I would definitely get more ink from her!

Black ink is home some some awesome artist including Chrystal. Her artistry professionalism is what makes me keep going back to her. She puts her heart into every piece she does and strives to make her clients happy Ive yet to be disappointed in any of the eight pieces shes given me. I cant wait to get some more from her shes dope!!

I went in really quick before work. I had no idea they even had a show I just wanted to see the artist work and see what the shop is about. I gave the guy that was attending me my ideas and as I was talking he kept speaking to me dismissively. Very frustrating and I dont even think he was an artist just someone who works in the front. Ive never been to a shop and treated that way.
My husband and my brother got their tattoos done at the tattoo convention and they are both hot. We also enjoyed the laughs we had with them. Ill be getting my done soon since I told them I would after I had my baby. Good people!
They just came to my city for a tattoo convention and Osh*t did my tattoo, first he did not give me what I want. Then he kept stopping. He didnt even finish. He seemed nice but was completely unprofessional. The tattoo looks good but its not what I wanted and now its on my body permanently.Oh and he was a rude about it !
Black ink, Im not to sure as to whats going on. I came there on January 4th 2019 to get a tattoo for my birthday. I had gotten a cherry blossom tattoo. Fresh did it. But, my concern is that my tattoo is still itchy and raised. Im not bashing you guys because I really like to support black owned businesses, but if you can pls reach out to give me some kind of reason as to why Im having these symptoms I would appreciate it. I have many tattoos and none of them feel this way. It really itches and looks weird! Pls reach out... I know where your located, and by the looks of my tat anyone would agree something is wrong!!!! My daughter Loves the Black Ink reality show, so we were afforded the opportunity to visit one of their locations last year! We didnt get to meet anyone from the show, but the representatives that were there, was so nice to us! They even allowed my daughter to take pictures with them! We purchased t-shirts and hats for souvenirs, my daughter really enjoyed her visit!! 💕
I just got my ear pierced yesterday, and Ryan was AMAZING. She will make you feel so comfortable, and it was my FIRST piercing--it didnt feel like anything! I am DEFINITELY coming back.
I am out here, in New York on a conference from the Westcoast. Some friends and I went sightseeing. We decided to go to Harlem and stop by Black Ink! Once arriving there, one of their employees came out very rude....He stated that, they were not taking anymore appointments and they were closing! The shop still had clients, he rudely escorted us out and wouldnt even let us take pics. This is suppose to be a professional establishment and this is how you represent it? Smh my head, its unfortunate because clients are the ones who keep a business going. The owner need to, update the business hours as it reads open until 12am and the website location. Someone needs to also answer the phones, to answer questions when needed.
The people that say that have actually been there, had a bad experience. I love Black Ink the show but seriously people even on the show they dont do alot of tats. Love the staff but skeptical about the shop if you go as a customer and your not a super star.

Im reading all these negative comments and Im actually surprised lol. Overall, I had a great experience at Black Ink. I went almost a year ago (August 2015) and had Dutchess do my tattoo. When I got there, of course, they were turnt up and ratchet but if you watch the show thats how they always are so Im not sure why people are confused about the professionalism...like you see how unprofessional they are on the show lol. Anyway, Im extremely satisfied with my tattoo. It took a second for her to start it because she was outside boo loving with Cesar but shes hella cool. I plan on going back to have her finish it.

My experience with black ink was good they were cool and nice and my tattoo looks good oshyt did my tattoo and he did a great job and he had no problem taking pictures with me so I didnt see what people mean by them having a bad attitude

Stopped by when I was in town ...they were closed ..but one of the Black inc crew members were sitting out front...Im not a groupie by far...but dude had a very bad attitude. .when your in the business your going to have Fans that want pics!!!! Please remember its the fans that make you,...so you should never be to good to take a pic with a fan!!!!!!! I guess thats why hes not one of the regulars on the show....Not A good look !!!!!!! I didnt see CAESAR but I talked with MAJIK. ( its probably Magic but he had a Royalty to him). There were clients and staff & He put the Black Ink light on for me & I got a tshirt & took pictures. I dont have any tattoos but being in B.I. 1- 2- 5th was magical to me. As a fan of the tv show, I was not disappointed. Queen_patrice

I was at blackink in Dec 2015, i didnt see none of the cast it was other employees there thats not on the show, but they where very helpful. I didnt get a tat but i took pictures so that was plus may next time i go this summer Ill get my first tat by one of the cast dont matter who its memories thats all.
SCAM ARTIST!. They make you pay for time in advance example 6 hours about 1300. Mind you my outline was already done so that shouldve had them a step ahead. ...then they take breaks consult others customers and go slow so that they wont finish your tattoo in the alotted time just so you can go back and spend more money. Uncomfortable folding chairs small tight space no breathing room. Most of all none of the people from the show is even there. Just some mediocre scam artist. A complete Rip off. Someone else will be completing my tat.
Thanks to ceaser my tattoo is the best Ive seen or had I really appreciate the detail and time he put in we are from VA . Came up to see black ink while in New York he met with us right away drew something for me and had my appt the next day I WILL BE COMING BACK SOON ...Again thank you ceaser you did a great job you are one of the best for sure !!!!!I wish I could add a pic
The place was clean and staff greeted us with an smile the fact, the fact that the super start Cease, came out and have us hugs simply because we said we were fans, I am still in awe... We wanted tattoos but appointments are required, really cool place
Most that seem to have actually went to Black Ink have low stars. Then those who just speak about the show have high star ratings. Interesting. I love watching the show, but would never get a tattoo there.
Cant get enough of these guys. Im an older woman that is in love with the entire Black Ink Crew. My first trip to NY ...my first stop was to Harlem hoping to meet any members of Black Ink, was told I had just missed Ceasar and Dutchess but had the opportunity to meet Angel and Ceasars uncle. Great vibe.
Staff was super cool
Walked in and reception was so bad that I walked out. Ambiance is sketchy, could not hear the receptionist (her normal voice is a whisper), artists were out to lunch with no return time, and card machine was broken.
Ceaser! I know you looking at these reviews! The Walking Dead, The Simpsons and King of the Hill all had long running seasons on tv! You better get your shops in check and tend to your customers. Tv shows never last! Look at MTV Making the Band! Never forget how you started or what keep you in business! It can make you or break you! Now! I dont want no tattoo here either! Word of advice! The feeling was amazing from the jump I felt like I was with my family soon as I walked in the door, Feezi was amazing...I also had the honor of meeting Eli who was a sweetheart he asked if the customers wanted candy when he bought it back to the shop I declined as Im trying to watch my sugar intake lol furthermore, I had the opportunity to get a beautiful coverup on my neck from Kevin himself he was amazingly kind, all around he made my experience amazing my experience was so good I will be back in 2 weeks for another tat Black Ink you rock thank you keep it up!!!!! Im currently visiting New York and Wanted to check black ink out as I watch the show often. I walked up the stairs and told the lady that unlocked the door that I was visiting New York and was a fun of their show and wanted to check the shop out did this rude ass lady tell me No and slammed the door in my fave they just lost me as a fan
Saturday I had a great experience at Black Ink on 125 ... I called prior to my arrival since this was not a planned visit and to my surprise a very nice young lady by the name of Ryan answered the phone and said I could come in right now I was extremely excited .... when I arrived Omg it was dope everyone was smiling and friendly and most of all clean. That day my artist was Berto at first I wanted to be picky but I was so overwhelmed by the experience I just said ok and but the great experience didn’t stop there this guy was amazing top notch equipment that I like afterwards there was no pain and his work was that of a perfectionist will definitely be going back to him for more work... 10 stars to Black Ink..
My experience with black ink is the reason I dont do business with black people. After they scarred me on a tattoo the staff was unprofessional. The remedy for my permanent scarring was to allow another artist to tattoo me. My remedy was get my money back from the bank. They will never tattoo me again. I would not recommend the to my enemies.

If u want a great tattoo go to Tuff City in the Bronx. Better artists and people. What you see is what you get. When u see these clowns on tv the word class is buried under all the plastic surgery and horse hair. You cant find art digging in a trash can.
A little advice to black ink, I wanted more tattos and I never have been to black ink shop, but it sounds as unprofessional as the show is,if u are reading your reviews,stop worrying about hiring unprofessional people who never seem to do tattoos but to be rachet,your workers need to have more work ethic, I understand its good entertainment for the show,but when it comes to people paying there hard earn money,yall definitely got to get it together,I really believe Cesar u are getting too relax with the show check,because even a blind person can see your workers are unprofessional,but I guess those the workers u want because u dont have to pay them much because they dont do any tattoos anyway,no one should have to come in and be string along and wait on a tattoo artist to do a tattoo and they are giving u money,there are too many tattoo parlors in Manhattan that is way more professional, if this is your passion Cesar you are sure letting it go down the drain

Doors locked ever sunday even though it says open.....i been canceled on 2 times by 2 people at the same shop once without notice and once 1 hour before appointment and its my fault for not wanting to get my tattoo there still if you asked me on being proffesional and keeping apps go to another shop

Sketchy. I came by a few days ago and tried to go in but they put a divider in front of the door and locked their door. It reeked of skunky cheep weed and no one was answering the door when I knocked. Probably better that no one answered.
Received a Tattoo from Ceaser at the Baltimore tattoo convention in April and he does GREAT work. I love my art work and Im going to get another very very soon!

Went there back in December, the tattoo I received was horrible the shading and lining were completely off , by far the worst tattoo I got, I might have to go get a cover up ....yes its that bad ........I love the show but dont waste your time getting a tattoo these guys are amateurs

Very unprofessional and rude, personnel on site declined services and stated they close at 9pm although their website clearly states the hours of operation are from 12pm-12am. I tried calling the phone number prior to my visit that was listed via the website but no answer. This was a very disappointing experience due to me having to travel so far.

2022-03-22I visited New York and called black ink to get a cover up as me being a tourist I called ahead of time and was told to send a pic of my tattoo that I wanted covered which is just a 5 letter name on my chest. I was told they accept walk ins so I even called before I came that day. When I got there the shop was empty the guy at the desk said he had to see if other artist was coming in and he called the lady in the pic which is the shop manger. He told me she would be there in a few mins so after waiting 1 hour I asked where she was and could he call her again he told me oh traffic is bad she will be here I waited 2 and a half hours for her to show up just to tell me I wouldn’t be getting a tattoo today she said she could probably do a cover up or flowers because it’s quick and easy…. I HATE FLOWERS I don’t have no tattoos of flowers. So I asked if they had any books I could look through to see if I could get some ideas she showed me her iPad with her sketches and the tattoo that I liked she quoted me $700 for the tattoo I was so mad that I had wasted my time coming here when I could have went somewhere else and got tatted my time was not valued at all!!!!

2022-07-02THE OWNER CESAR BEAT HIS SMALL DOGS WITH METAL FOLDING CHAIRS!! Go search the video for yourself! There’s been stories of him beating his daughter and after seeing the way he abuses animals there’s NO DOUBT he abused his daughter as well. Disgusting human being with zero dignity or self control. Not to mention, he does GARBAGE tattoos. No one should be giving him their hard earned money. Go to someone who’s a decent human and can actually tattoo well.

2020-01-18I walked right in and was immediately helped I did not have to wait I didn’t want anything except for my husband signature tattooed on my back the music was great it was today’s hip-hop. It was a little loud since it was 12 noon but maybe I’m too old for music that loud lol. My tattoo artist washed his hands in my view and then clean my back he let me check the position of the Tat before he begin to put permanent ink in.

2022-03-03I got two dermals placed. the guy doing them knocked one out on accident while doing the other, then had a hard time getting the jewel on. I wasnt given any care instructions. I lost one due to this, not knowing i couldnt swim. i liked the dermal i had left until i started looking online and noticed that mine is sticking out too far. the dermal is not flush to the skin and it feels frankenstieny. It was like this day one so no, it is not rejecting so far. Im hoping i can get a new top that will hide this. the anchor is also visible under my skin so im pretty sure it wasnt placed deep enough. The jewel has also fallen off three times, so it wasnt tight enough. i asked for a quote on a tattoo and they gave me a price and said to call back when i am ready to have it done.I REALLY WASNT HAPPY. I SPENT 200 DOLLARS AND PLANNED ON GETTING A 600 DOLLAR TATTOO BUT THE DERMALS I GOT HAD TO BE REMOVED. THEY WERE NOT PLACED RIGHT, THEY WERE NOT FLUSH TO MY SKIN AND DIDNT GET DISCHARGE INSTRUCTIONS SO I WAS UNWARE I COULDNT MGO SWIMMING. BUT THEY WERE NEVER FLUSH TO MY SKIN IN THE FIRST PLACE. THE SECOND ONE I HAD TO HAVE REMOVED BECAUSE EVERYONE KEPT COMMENTING ON HOW BAD IT LOOKED, STICKING OUT SO FAR, AND I DIDNT LIKE IT EITHER. AND IF YOU LOOKED CLOSE YOU COULD SEE THE ANCHOR RIGHT UNDER MY SKIN. REALLY WAS EXCITED ABOUT GOING THERE, I LOVE THE SHOW AND THE CAST BUT IT REALLY PUT A BAD TASTE IN MY MOUTH. I DONT LIVE THERE SO I COULDNT EVEN JUST GO IN AND HAVE THEM REDONE. GUESS ITS A HIT OR MISS WITH BLACK INK. 125TH LOCATION
