Too many places do that large batch abomination - drip coffee. Black Press is yet another one of them. While the beans used are decent, its still a large batch - nothing close to na individually made pourover. That cappuccino was pretty good, but the drip was kinda run of the mill.
Amazing coffee. The honey and cinnamon syrup is the BEST thing to happen to a latte. Absolutely delicious. Soya and oat milk available here. Generous mug sizes for sitting in. Lovely selection of pastries too. The chocolate and almond croissant was reallly great, flaky and not too sweet. Highly recommend this place. Only 8 minutes walk from the natural history museum! Glad we stopped by on the way.
Great coffee, I love swinging by when Im in the area their cappuccino is very consistently good and just bitter enough. The staff is good and friendly, my only regret is that you get laptop hipsters occupying the space not wearing a mask which should be banned during COVID era
Super cute place to work, quite cozy, good music, lots of outlets and pretty quick wifi. I got the iced latte which was very good but on the pricey side ($5), but I think the atmosphere was worth it. The staff were super friendly as well :) No public restroom though. Would definitely come back next time Im in new york.
A great atmosphere, great drinks, and pleasant employees are a winning mix! When you add in the commitment to service, this is a venture I can wholeheartedly support. The drinks are reasonably priced, and the difference in quality is obvious. Ill surely return for another delicious cup of coffee!
Lot of hype around this place and I don’t get it. I usually try and get local coffee but it’s a hard sale for this place. I went here the other day and got a coffee. The coffee is very acidic, even with cream. I feel like they used cheap cups/ lids. I say cheap because sure enough I was walking up Columbus Ave and the lid comes off ( I secured it tightly. Not my first redo) and I cursed to the heavens because I burnt my hand from the coffee. My conclusion is biter coffee, which isn’t bad, but super cheap lids that come off easily. 1 star because the lid ( cheap lid ( I made sure it was on securely)) came off and burnt my hand real bad.
Fabulous coffee-- I come here at least once a week. The chai is the real deal: not your out-of-a-paper-carton, syrupy stuff. The folks behind the counter are so nice, and they actually have a student discount, which makes the caffeine-longing law student in me very happy. Prices are fair, coffee is always quality. Love Black Press!
This costa coffee gets five stars from me because of their superior contributions and fair prices. Both of their coffees are delicious and satisfy all of my needs. The space is extremely spacious, with simple and powerful wi-fi connections and an abundance of charging ports. This is one of my beloved locations on Earth. It has my highest recommendation!
Every time I visit a great coffee place.. it sticks with you for the rest of your life. When you have that perfect cup of coffee, youll never forget about it or where you had it. Here I had an iced latte with their home made syrup. It was so creamy, almost velvety.. the sweetness was PERFECT, none of that fake flavoured syrup stuff you get at other major coffee shops. Staff was lovely too.
This coffee shop just opened its doors about a week ago 1/3/2019. From an aesthetics perspective, great overall environment of the coffee shop and enjoyed being able to people watch from the seats looking out the window. From a customer service perspective, the two gentleman there were down to earth, easy going, and great and being personable - a quality treat for any type of business. From a product perspective, they have some work do to, however, they are willing to listen and take feedback well. Several people said their Americano was watered down. The overall coffee is of high quality, they just need to work on portions. My wife ordered a hot chocolate with Oat milk. They made the drink wrong the first time, however, remade it, and even gave us a free drink on them for the error. By the way, it was a great hot chocolate they make their own chocolate sauce in their shop. Will make sure to revisit to see how they adjust to the feedback they get from the community, but overall I am confident they will be a great contribution to the quality coffee scene that is needed in the area. Already better than the Starbucks across the street!
The coffee itself is fairly good (Ive only ordered the latte and the mocha and I find the latte slightly better tasting). The biggest advantages are the very reasonable prices for the pretty delicious drinks and the shop has WiFi, a rarity on the UWS. The coffee shop is very comfortable to work in, although it can get pretty cold because theres no extra barrier to the outside, so every time someone opens or closes the door it blows cold air in (at least during the winter). Super happy this place opened up a block from my apartment!
The decor is cool and the prices are certainly better than its competitors, but I have tried Black Presss coffee twice now and I just dont like it. The Americano, although acid, was not awful, but the espresso was literally not drinkable. Much as I like to save a few bucks, I would rather walk down the block to Blue Bottle or Joe. I wont be back.
Nice coffee shop aint nothing like grabbing some strong coffee and some thing to eat to if you want ice coffee hot coffee they make it all here friendly staff here prices is great atmosphere to read and sip in coffee to get your day started of you are just getting ready to go to school or work so if you ate near here please stop in grab some great tasting coffee on your choice and that all folks until the enjoy the weather peace

2022-05-11I’ve been here multiple times and it’s always a great visit. I love their oatmilk lattes and I got to try the rose syrup the last time I went. Service is always fast and easy. Not much seating but with the nice weather you can walk over to Central Park.

2021-11-27Got oat milk latte with honey cinnamon and it was so good that I almost got another one. Service was kind and friendly. Only thing is that I wish they would allow standing inside and drinking . I was cold and there was no available seating expect for the window counters (where they had the sign that prohibited of standing).

2022-01-08Visited Black Press Coffee after our walking tour of Central Park (1/4). The staff was very welcoming and the Vanilla Latte was excellent! Too bad we were not able to sit inside and warm up a bit...but we understood why. #covid #latte #nyc

2022-04-12If youre in Burbank looking for a cute coffee shop stop by here. The coffee was super delicious and unique! I tried the Cinnamon Toast Crunch which tasted exactly like the cereal with coffee, amazing. Also tried The Sweet Creature which was so aesthetically pleasing with the rose petals on top. Love the staff, they were kind and welcoming. Will be back to try more items on the menu!

2022-03-31This review will be short because I dont really have a fascinating personal anecdote to attach to this place. But its good. Good sandwiches, good soups, good coffee drinks, good vibe, good decor. They serve Kettle chips as well, I should note, so if youre in the area, itd be worth it to stop by and grab lunch.

2022-05-23Just a quality coffee shop. Made a great espresso without too much wait. I don’t know if it’s a chain, but it didn’t feel like one. The baristas seem to remember the names of many customers and that really said worlds about their service.

2022-04-03This cafe is an incomparable mix of excellence in atmosphere and taste. The staff is incredibly patience and also efficient. They offer traditional espresso macchiato’s, latte, for dine-in or to-go. They serve Parlor Coffee which is roasted/based in Brooklyn.

2022-06-19The coffee was good but I would rate it 2 or 3 stars because they charge 1$ extra/ice coffee for non-dairy milk…I’m not a vegetarian but I find this disturbing… the price difference between the normal milk and oat/soy/almond milk doesn’t justify this…
