Just finished eating shrimps and french fries. It was very good. Shrimps were big and seasoned well, not greasy or salty at all. I had the yams before and they are really good with just enough sweetness. My new go to spot.
COVID 19 review -Garlic Honey Wings arrived warm and tasty.Mac and Cheese was good but needed a bit more cheese and seasoning for my liking (great for people watching their salt and dairy intake)Greens were also good but needs to be reheated to really get its delicious flavor.Overall, the food portions are generous, tasty, doesnt have that processed/generic taste. I will be ordering again. thank you!
Had Thai chilli wings with Mac and cheese and collard greens. Food is good. But for what I paid for three meals was ridiculous. No sure if covid affected how fast they cook but waited almost an hour for my food. I would love to see this place flourish and add more to the menu.
The food was good last year around Feb/March 2020 but I think they have a new chef because the food isnt the same 😞 I thought maybe I went on a bad food day but a few of my friends went and had the same experience. Food is on a decline save your money
Very good food. Had the fish sandwich. Tried the mac & cheese and the collard greens. ALL good! Plus the homemade iced tea lemonade was one of the best Ive ever had.
My family and I ordered the fried fish , fried shrimp, collard greens, sweet potato fries and half and half’s. Omg everything was perfectly done. My husband loves the greens. The delivery from Uber eats was on time, the delivery man was polite and the food was piping hot. I will be ordering from here again.
Don’t be fooled by the hole in the wall look to this restaurant! I ordered coconut shrimp, Mac and cheese, potato salad, collards and sweet potatoes. EVERYTHING was DE-LI-CI-OUS! I’m just mad they are not open on Sundays😫
I heard about this place through the news and decided to drive 25 mins to support black business.. on getting there I ordered the “Big Boy combo” with Mac and Yams and was told it was a 20 min wait. I waited in my car for about 30 mins just to make sure and went back in, but he said it wasn’t ready, i figured ok its a pandemic there’s a rush so no problem... long story short I waited 2 hrs plus and only to be told they ran out of Candies yams, now i can speak to the degree of unprofessionalism but i could care less , all i wanted wws my food after waiting 2hr plus while getting attitude from the workers the whole time. I regretted ever hearing about this place, they showed no sympathy, take your money elsewhere.....
Just ordered thru Uber eats... must say this was the most disappointing and disgusting food I have ever put into my mouth. I got my husband the salmon platter with the two sides which were the onion rings and Mac and cheese. I got the triple whatever the hell. The salmon was unevenly seasoned. Salty on the outer corners and bland in the center. Lemon you can taste but it was gross. The onion rings were ok we were hoping the Mac and cheese would be the bomb but NO total fail. Bland no seasoning the elbow pasta was over cooked and the Mac and cheese dry as hell. It seemed as if it was microwaved left overs smdh Now my dish... chicken tenders had an weird taste like if it were old the white fish same no taste the only good thing were the 3 pieces of shrimp. A bit salty but I was very hungry and it cost us 47 bucks. The fries couldn’t even touch it my stomach turned so did my husbands. The saddest day in food history I’m afraid... the delivery driver was great though so that’s why I gave it 1 star... PS the food gave us both stomachaches and many visits to the bathroom with nausea. It’s been hours since the delivery. Don’t order from this place.

The food was soggy because they didnt put holes in the plastic containers, the shrimp tasted like they werent done, and the chicken wasnt good either. The fish was just ok. Everything was very bland..
Despite handing out advertisements in my building, after calling for delivery they told me there was an absurd $70 takeout minimum. The food was. Ot all that great either.

2020-02-02This is a nice seafood and soul food location that is Black owned. I was visiting NYC from Maryland for the weekend and decided to try multiple dishes. The seafood is made fresh when ordered, the collard greens were delicious are seasoned well and they do not use meat to season them since so many people have dietary preferences. The meal I ordered was a chicken wing/fried shrimp combination that was not listed on the menu but I was told it was an option. Definitely ask them what you want because they may be able to create a meal based on what you want. The macaroni and cheese was very good, the yams were okay, the potato salad was good and I ordered the honey garlic wings. The wings and the sauce were delicious and they give you veggies and a large cup of blue cheese (or ranch, if you’d prefer). They were very polite and attentive wanting to make sure we were comfortable since we dined in. There was cable TV and music. They came to check on us multiple times and politely conversed with us, making sure we were enjoying our food. We were given a sample while we waited and we were provided updates since my friends food arrived before my own. I included the latest menu as of Jan. 31, 2020 and a few pictures of our food before we devoured it lol. Call ahead if you’re pressed for time but definitely try their food, it was delicious!

2021-02-21I went to this restaurant on Saturday 02/20/2021 trying to support a black owned business and the online menu and pics looked Delicious. I ordered the 3 piece fish with 5 jumbo shrimp, Mac n cheese and yams. The fish had a fishy taste and the shrimp was not jumbo medium size no taste to it. The Mac n cheese was horrible and the yams was nasty they just had cinnamon on it and no butter and sugar or sweet glaze taste to them mind you the potatoes was cut In large chunks so the potatoes wasnt all the way done on the inside. They give you pre packed cornbread loafs like you get from the corner store. I will never go there again and its a hole in the wall.

2021-07-03OMG, this food is so delicious. I brought the fried whiting and shrimp combo, with baked macaroni & cheese, greens, yams and potato salad.. it’s so much food, this is my lunch and dinner. Thank you Blackgal Seafood, you guys are the best❤️

2020-01-21I just had the shrimp dinner with collard greens and mac and cheese. The greens were nicely spiced with just the right amount of bite to them. The mac and cheese had a good amount of cheddar and wasnt baked too hard. The shrimp (7) were seasoned and fried to perfection. They were the star of the meal. The portions are so generous I can eat for 2 or 3 more meals. I have no idea what those 2 people who gave bad reviews were talking about. This food is delicious!

2020-02-07I went for the first time yesterday 2/6/2020. The young man was so pleasant and aside from that the food was to die for. He gave me a sample of the greens...yummy...I had the fish with yams and mac and cheese, it was superb. I really enjoyed the meal...going back for more. Finally, good soul food in the boogie down Bronx....

2020-11-11This is another hidden treasure in NYC, the food is amazing and the service was really great. This is definitely a place I can see myself ordering from again in the future. If you love Soul food , look no further Blackgal has a little piece of the south , right in the Bronx.

2021-04-06$20 for a small tray stuffed with fries and 5 not so jumbo shrimp with no taste. Smh! For $3 less I can get a 12 pc Shrimp, Fries and Mac dinner with freshly made cornbread that is delicious not to far away. I tried to support a local business but not at the expensive of me getting robbed.

2020-08-12After living in the neighborhood for over 15 years I discovered this tiny little soul food restaurant.They make up for their lack of size with some of the best tasting food I have had in a long time. I ordered the shrimp dinner with mac and cheese and collard greens.The food was delicious, hot and very well prepared, especially the collard greens.In a word, YUMMY!Do yourself a favor and try Black Gal Seafood.

2020-09-10Real Soul food!! The bake mac I said it is the 💣💣💣 ‼️💯 not just cheese on top like most places. fish shrimp so good they give Good helpings you wont be hungry 2 hours later cause its real food. They even have a Sunday menu for Breakfast!!! Its Lit!!!
