Very good service! Super organized and clean especially with covid. Definitely recommend taking your family there for fall fun, there’s apple picking, pumpkins, apple cider and other beverages and snacks. It’s also pretty to see all the leafs changing colors on the trees in the background while you are apple picking 👍👍👍
We had a great time picking apples. And they sold me apples that had fallen on the ground for 70 cents a pound for my horses!! The Crispin apples that we we picked are huge!! Very friendly staff! The hard cider tasting was delicious! And I also bought cherry grape juice and pear apple juice! All delicious!!
Love taking my daughter, grands and parents there every yr for the animals, hot/cold cider or hot cocoa, kettle corn, and other goodies we pur have there. Till the kids got to tall they got a pony ride, they didnt have it this year as a part if the experience. I think its a bit much on the ponies as well. Its alot to expect of them. And also Id noticed too many parents expected their not so tiny children to be given a ride. We always like talking to the turkeys as well. Theyre funny, the kids played Turkeys gobbling on their moms cell phone and the turkeys were answering. It was so funny. Uh what else....oh yes the apple picking is a favorite. We all have a different choice of taste and consistency. My personal favorite is Macintosh and ONLY McIntosh. Check it out, enjoy.🎄😁🙏👍♥️MERRY CHRISTMAS
It had a lot of potential...So they say that you need an appointment to reduce the amount of people picking, but they let the people behind us in even though they didnt have a reservation. This is probably why there was over 150 people at this little orchard. There was no parking either. If it wasnt as busy, and there were still apples on the trees, then it would have been worth the long drive.
I come here once a year, every year in the fall for apple picking. For some reason, it is more enjoyable to get apples by going to a farm and picking them right off the trees. This place has apple trees as far as the eye can see. You can go and pick as many apples and Concord grapes as you want. You pay for them by the pound. They also have animals like turkeys to see and sell locally made goods, like honey, jam, soaps and cider. I just cant wait for the empire apples to be ready, because thats when I will be coming.
It was my first time Apple picking. One of the employees was very informative about the type of Apples and where to find them on the farm. It was a nice experience and did not feel like I was stepping on other peoples feet while exploring the farm. I also believe they may have the best Apple cider this side of the Mississippi.
A smaller in size, but quality experience. The Blackman Farm is just one of those places that you can just go ahhh, and let a breath out, because it feels good being there. They have a great family run orchard and have some animals to look at.(don’t feed them) and. Many products they make for sale, jams hard and regular ciders. Get an apple slushy there too. Go! Pick some apples, get a pumpkin and enjoy your day!
This was the first time my spouse and I went apple picking, and let me say it was a joy. Mary (who if I remember correctly is the 6th generation of the family-owned farm) was very friendly to us. They also have other products for sell like jams, juice, pressed cider, and apple slushies to drink, which were AMAZING. We were visiting from Chicago since we went to Niagara Falls, but if you have the time to go there, you wont be disappointed. We also got to do some hard cider sampling and found out a majority of the apples used for their cider come from here! Also, the hard cider options were good! Not a fan of sweet alcoholic beverages, but their IPA cider was delicious.
Blackman Farms requires you to reserve tickets in advance to prevent crowding during covid. We secured 6 tickets for this past weekend and upon pulling in it was evident that they were not enforcing this rule. It was so crowded that it was unsafe - and many people were NOT wearing masks. I asked the woman who was directing traffic (it was so busy that someone needed to DIRECT TRAFFIC) about the ticket policy and she briskly replied they were letting in additional people. It felt so unsanfe that my family returned to our car and left much to the disappointment of my children.
This is a great place for apples and some other farm produce. It does get busy towards the afternoon so to avoid overcrowding go early in the morning. Wide selection of apple varieties. They also sell concord grapes, ciders and jarred fruit butters and spreads. Usually open early fall to November.
Our family visits Blackmans every year. We appreciate the fact that they do not charge admission, their family/staff are always very friendly, & we always have a great time!As with any orchard, the bees also love it so come prepared for possible encounters with them while enjoying the farm.
Will not come back here again. Will not even recommend this place. If u have stuff advertised. It should be here. And I get with COVID. Things are different. Masks should be warn. Yes. It says to enter. Not in the orchard. Please put up signs. Want to yell at us. Make sure u yell at every one around. Just saying

2020-09-29So excited to make this a tradition, checked this place out in 2018, where I helped plan an engagement in the orchard. Returned in 2019, and are going back again with a reservation due to covid. They have a great variety, everyone is very helpful in guiding you where to go and what to do, prices are reasonable, and the extras are awesome. We grab cider, and wine, and even a t shirt. Check them out, you wont be disappointed!

2020-09-20They have an amazing friendly and beautiful you pick family orchard. 2020 is their 50th year! Pumpkins, heirloom squash, corn stalks, cider/hard cider, and more. Highly suggest a visit. Reservations this year due to Covid.

2020-10-12Later in the season so not a lot left to pick from and the ones that are you need to walk further back in the orchard to get them. You pick apples, choice of 1/2 peck ($7) peck (I believe $10) and full bushel bags ($28) Pumpkins can be purchased at 40 cents a pound along with gourds and squash. They have their Thanksgiving turkeys out with an advertisement about purchasing one.The apple cider slushies ($3) were yummy, not so much my kids style though. We reserved our hour and a half spot ahead of time. We were done in less than a half hour. 4 stars because the staff is very friendly and it was cute. Last star would have been if there was more to do. But cant really complain for the price of free with the exception of your extras like apples, etc.

2020-10-13First time here and really enjoyed our experience. We will definitely be keeping them in mind for next season! Only giving it a 4 out of 5 because it was smaller than I was expecting. If you want a lot of space to spread out and do your own thing, this may not be the place for you.

2018-12-21Great place for families and has a mini petting animal area with goats and ponies. Turkeys are also in display and for purchase. Items such as honey, pears, apples, cider, etc. are always available. Best to come beginning of fall when it’s not that cold and less muddy.

2018-10-09Kids love coming here for apple picking. They didnt have many apples left on the trees this year but we found some & we all enjoy doing it. They also have a ton of pumpkins, and a few animals the kids can pet and/or look at. They even have a pen of turkeys, that you can pick one out for your Thanksgiving feast! And of course delicious apple cider, hard apple cider, and some treats!

2020-10-07We love this place! We were looking for somewhere less busy than Becker farms and were pleasantly surprised with Blackman Homestead. This year is our third year going and dont plan on going anywhere else! Beautiful orchard and great apples. There have always been trees that have apples low enough for the kids to pick themselves. Check it out!

2021-10-16Blackman farms had become our annual destination for Apple picking. A lot of fun for the family. Love the reserved time slots which help to keep crowds down.
