My new favorite store was my first time buying professional dance wear and I’d totally come back the girls today was great heather I think that was her name the manager I think she was great and I forgot the other girls names they were great too

This dance supply store is chic, beautifully maintained, and well stocked. I personally prefer Bloch as a woman of color because they carry the skin color tones shoes for African Americans as other dance stores do not. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The prices were reasonable for dance supplies.
Girls 1st pointe shoes.. Made an appointment for fitting the day of for 2 girls. Awesome and professional staff. The girls on site today 1/4 at 6pm, were very helpful to the parents and dancers who knew nothing about pointe shoes. Thank you! We would refer this place to anyone and we will return for sure. Make sure you make an appointment if you plan on getting fitted..
My daughter had a blast here. And the staff is super friendly and helpful. We will be going back. A wonderful shopping experience for a ballerina. I think our helper was Rachel. A+
The women staff were very nice and greeted me. The two men staff were like divas. Trying to get refitted for another pair of Bloch. The guy didn’t even look like my feet shape and started pulling out shoes to give me to try on. He said he is a corps from New York City ballet. Not sure how that qualifies him as a pointe shoe fitter. The man in charge has long hair. Very cold. I ended up with a pair which the vamp is too high for my toes and getting over the box is not easy. Disappointing experience.

Horrible customer service. Locked the door at exactly 5pm with 4 little girls and their moms waiting outside to get in, who would must definitely be buying items…No apology, just rude!
They were WONDERFUL! Came in from out of state. Wandered into the store & asked if they had time to fit my daughter. It was the best pointe fitting shes had! And shes had 9 in 1 year. Extremely knowledgeable
The staff is wonderful and very helpful. If you go on a busy day you may have to wait 30 minutes to an hour for a pointe shoe fitting. But they know what they are doing and the wait is most defintely worth it. Staff and products are great.
Mostly complete selection of Bloch shoes, slippers, pointed shoes, etc., but staffers (Stassi), mis-fit my child, putting his wide, triangle - shaped feet in a tiny size 10! We went to Capezio, and he was fit in a size 13. You walk away thinking, Such a nice looking store, but I have money, sell me the right stuff for my needs. Lots of missed opportunities too, as we needed many other supplies, none of which were suggested to us. Returned items, for a refund, which was easy. $$$ Expensive.
Great customer service and the employees are super friendly, if what I need is not in the store they have no problem with ordering it in for me. As a ballet dancer I love this store and Brand to death !!!

Whats not to love about this chic ballet boutique. The personnel are knowledgeable and engaged and the merchandise is geared for serious dancers.
The staff in this store is extremely unpleasant!. I walked in the store during lunch time, the guy at the desk was eating, and looked at me like obviously I was not welcome!. He continued having his lunch, ignoring me.
The gentleman really listened to my daughter and her needs. Thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Bloch NYC!

Sales woman very rude and not helpful when I asked to see tap shoes for my son. Why treat customers so badly when we can always find another place to spend our money. Needless to say I won’t be buying my Jay Sams from this store.
Very good Classical and jazz dance shoes. Good prices, a pity that the price of the website is NOT the same as the local, is outdated or more is paid locally. Regulate the attention of the premises.
Great store for ballet gear. Not very cheap but cheap from the same equipment in the country. Unique and impressive bodywear can be bought.

2022-06-16This is a great place to quickly pickup anything one needs for dance near Lincoln center. Picked up leotards for my girls to wear for a school show and they had plenty of options in stock. Not overly expensive- appropriate pricing and good quality stuff.

2022-06-18The NYC store and merchandise were great. However one of the staff members (girl with blue hair) was very haughty and not personable from the minute we walked in. Thank goodness for the girl that checked us out (long brown hair)….she was very pleasant, and made our experience better.

2022-06-24I would not recommend this store to dancers of color at all. My sister is visiting Alvin Ailey for their summer dance intensive and we were recommended to go to Bloch to take advantage of a discount. If we knew how awful the service would have been we would’ve taken our business to Capezio. The entire time a blue haired employee followed us around the store constantly peaking their head around their shoulder as if we were going to steal something. Their demeanor the entire time was quite passive aggressive which was not appreciated. As we were leaving, after paying for our things we overheard them making sly comments with other employees and one of them muttered “ghetto” as we walked out the door. Never did I think I would experience such unprecedented racism due to the dancers of color they had hanging on the wall but I suppose that’s all for show. Additionally, some of the leotard material was uncomfortable and they had limited styles and sizes.

2022-07-13I know the store open at 10am. I saw a lady going inside but she said she wont sell anything until 10am. I explained her that I have an emergency and please I was needing to buy a pair of tights (my daughter fell and riped her tights that morning going to her ballet school and we didnt have another pair available). But the lady who attends inside BLOCH said in a rude way that she wont sell anything until 10am. I had to wait outside for a half hour, the lady inside the store was looking at me at all the time knowing that I was needing those thighs urgently. Very rude store.

2022-08-23Came here over the summer and they were so patient and helpful! Our fitter went above and beyond, helping my daughter find a better fitting shoe to get her through her SI. Shopping at the flagship was well worth it!

2022-03-26Just went in to get pointe shoes (European balance) and knew my size but just wanted to try on before buying them. They just opened and no one else was in the store. The staff insisted on a fitting appointment and the next available was Tuesday morning… I needed a new pair for today. Looks like I won’t be purchasing Blochs shoes or the brand in the future.

2021-10-24Go here and ask for Martin! I had to leave a review because I was blown away by the customer service I received. Due to an emergency, the store was short staffed. When I got in, one associate named Martin had been doing the work of assisting every patron by themself. I expected Martin to be flustered and would have understood if they tried to rush me out, as the store was closing. Instead Martin was patient, calm and gave me first class treatment. Martins knowledge of the shoes was incredible and we found a pair of tap shoes that worked for me. While I was there, another woman arrived and needed tights. I dont think she really made it before the store closed but she got the very same Martin treatment. This is the type of customer service that brings customers back. When I need anything for dance, I will start with Bloch - and this store specifically - because I was so impressed by Martin. Really exceptional!

2018-02-21The guy who works there (sorry, cant remember his name but he dances with Alvin ailey) is the best fitter Ive ever had! My feet have really high arches and are super narrow so it took a long time to find my shoes. He was very patient and helpful through out the whole process. Unfortunately the shoes are too soft for my and I broke the shank a month into wearing them.

2021-11-14I love it there. Martin is a point shoe master, he was super kind (as everybody else working there) and really helped me find the perfect pair. I will forever recommend this store!
