I was here on March 4, 2022. The service was soooo great! The food did not add up. I had steak, fries and a crab cake . The steak was overcooked no favor the fries were hard as rock. The crab taste plain.I wish I could give the owner some advice. Dont go if you want to eat good food.
I honestly had a great experience. I was taken here as a Christmas gift and it changed my mind on medium rare meats. Just keep in mind they also do reservations.The waiter we had was really open in terms of being really friendly and easy going to talk to especially when it came to the idea of having a medium rare dish and even offered to change it if it wasnt to my liking.We had the Wagyu skirt and the New York strip. (Again Im not one to like medium rare but this has opened my mind about it)We also had thick cut bacon, grilled asparagus and the brussel sprouts. Overall though it was really great experience and a memorable moment for us. This place was out of our usual norm but its always nice to try something new especially when its out of your own comfort level.My partner who took me here was dying to get his hands on the puff breads. The bread appeared fresh; out of the oven, and we were even given some to take home.Looking forward to going back in the future.
Very good One of the best steak joints in NYC. Loved the filet. Appetizers were all perfect and yummy. Great service. We had 4 adults and 3 kids so they put us in a huge booth upstairs and it was perfect. Great idea. We will come again for sure. Sorry no photos this time, will go back again and get some. This visit was somewhat disappointing compared to the last. My NY strip was perfectly cooked, but my companions was overcooked. She sent it back, and it came back raw. Sent back a second time, it still wasnt perfect but as the meal was over, she ate it. We both ordered the same thing cooked medium rare. The creamed spinach was very good. The popovers are delicious. The new location and management may be the issue. Not sure I would go back.
The food was very good. Had a few different kinds of steak, creamed spinach, and other various appetizers. The service was great! Over a very enjoyable experience. Wish I could give half stars because this was a four and half star experience for sure. Well be back again.
This place has traditionally been the best in the city. Not tonight. Questionable service, slow and uninterested. Food was good, not great. Calamari was limp, tartare was fine, crab cake good. Popovers came out less than hot, sort of lukewarm. Steaks were nice, Ill give credit there. Drinks were slow. Overall just an average dinner, hope they return to their normal standard of excellence next time.
1000$+ check. 6 ppl. What a pity. Went there on a Monday evening. empty restaurant. the manager gave a table in the aisle, asked to move away, he refused and said that it was impossible. asked to turn down the air conditioner, first they turned it down, then they made it cold again. I remind you it was in the aisle at the exit. There was a special for wine and pasta. we took it. I chose wine, it was not available at first, but after the refusal it was quickly found, they tried to push 30$ wine instead 90$ one (barbera d’alba instead of Testamatta) again through a tall gray-haired manager, it works quickly, when guests are understand something. I don’t understand, is it necessary to write when making a reservation that guests will have experience in hospitality? what kind of service is that? The wait staff were great, the food was terrible. The “courtesy” pate was down right nasty; with congealed content caked on top. The bacon appetizer had heaps of great chimichurri on it and it was gross... bacon is hard to get wrong!!! The Rib Eye was small and CHEWY, even though I ordered it rare, which it was, it was like fighting through a double overcooked chuck steak. The cream spinach was like “stewed spinach”, nothing creamy or sweat about it. The mash potatoes were mashed, that’s about it, needed salt & butter at least, maybe TRUFFLE???? The mushrooms were earthy, tough, crunchy & leathery; how-a-bout a sweat vermouth reduction??? Like I said the staff was great, the atmosphere AMAZING, and the alcohol, well good when it came to shots, but the mixed drinks were on par with the steak. Feel like the owners could fix this easily. The location is great, the inside is gorgeous!!! Just make it on par with Quality Meats and it will be there for decades! Might need to revise the kitchen & mixologist.
We ate at this blt location last night for the first time. Great experience. Wonderful steaks which have been hard to find during the last 6 months. Great open air dining and wine bottle prices at half off!! It was incredible to get an amazing steak restaurant dining experience in nyc for a bargain. Appetizers. 2 drinks , 2 dinners, dessert and a bottle of wine for $165 including tax. We’ll be back
So glad that BLT Prime moved to the Upper East Side. This steakhouse is as good as it gets. While expensive, the experience is excellent. With reservations, the greeting is warm and seating is fast with no wait. Pleasant bar area (good for a local drink for friends and business). Tables are comfortable and very well spaced for great conversation.Service is accomodating and fast. They are eager to please, making the meal very pleasant.Food is the star here. Portions are perfect. The meal starts with a popover service - they are wonderful and quite filling so be careful. Meat cooked exactly as ordered with a choice of sauces - we tried three and my favorite was the green peppercorn. Fillet Mignon was great and just the right size. NY strip was perfect. Sides are the usual steakhouse choices and are also excellent.Too full for dessert.
Forgot to our drink order took 20-30 mins to get glass of win. Food order ticket “didn’t print” so my husband had his burger and my mother her steak but my food tuna tartare and beet salad didn’t come. Took about 40 minutes to get and than we had to get it to go bc at this point it was close to 10 pm (we arrived at 7:30).
After going by BLT Prime one day after work, I decided to go eat there that night. The greetings at the desk are very nice and the lighting + decor of the room is extremely well done. The food there is delicious, with a wide variety of Meat and Salads. Would not recommend for anyone who would like pasta. The toilets are clean and nice.All to conclude, I would love to recommend this restaurant to anyone who is walking by.
We waited more than 30 minutes on a Thursday night before anyone even took our drink order. Only because we complained and asked to be moved off the balcony away from a table of 20 to downstairs where we might get some service. The manager apologized and said he would take care of us. We placed our order, the appetizers came out fairly quickly as did the entrees while we were still working on the starters. At that point it felt rushed. The chopped salad was very good, properly dressed-the feta delicious. The filet mignon was okay-a bit stringy. We ordered three sides: French fries that were crispy and delicious, sweet potatoes which were a somewhat overly sweet and asparagus that was slightly overcooked but had a nice presentation. The star of the show were the popovers, warm crispy and made even more sublime by the addition of a spread of butter. We ordered chocolate cake to share for dessert. It was fine though gigantic and most of it remained uneaten. Normally we would have had several rounds of drinks but due to the lack of service we had exactly one round. Their loss. For the prices they charge we expected a much better experience than we received. As people who live within a block of the restaurant I am sorry to say we will not be returning. Back to Orsay.
Yummy,yummy ,yummy,in my tummy! The filet mignon was excellent !I had it with béarnaise sauce as well as with a peppercorn corn sauce... amazing grilled asparagus perfectly done ...cauliflower casserole was dreamy and cheesy. I tried not to eat the pop over but actually I couldn’t believe I ate the whole thing! Simply delicious to dip in the complement pate. No regrets! I overate and over enjoyed. My server Martina she was extremely kind, professional and efficient to make my dining experience seamless! The staff aims to please!!! The wine from Spain I’m still dreaming about was beyond delicious and very fresh! I like the ambience the building was an old warehouse and it has been re-done fantastically! Don’t miss this steakhouse for a minute and get over there and enjoy a great dining experience!
Completely underrated when talking about steakhouses in NYC. The gruyere popovers are worth a visit. The tuna tartare is always fresh and delicious. The lobster Cobb salad is perfect to split with 2 people and has big chunks of lobster. The steaks are always cooked to perfection. The bone marrow that accompanies the Cowboy steak as amazing with the popovers. And last but not least is the staff. Super attentive without being on top of you. This is a staple for my wife and I.
This is one restaurant I will never return to! First the salad had a small bug on the side of the bowl. They did replace it, but it wasnt that tasty. Too many onions and olives. The bill for two of us was over $200 with the tip. Too much for very little food! The side dishes ($12 each) were so-so and very small for a steakhouse. When we finished and asked for them and the main courses to go, they threw out the mashed potatoes and the mac & cheese! No explanation was given. Then the real fiasco! We had a $150 gift certificate for this restaurant. We were told that it had been used up! Thats because they had just run it through and been paid! I had to call Open Table and spend twenty minutes on the phone doing their job! Either they were: 1) Trying to double-charge us. 2) Did not know what they were doing. 3) Made an honest mistake. You decide. I wont because thats the last time for us!!!! Not much of an apology, either!!
Ive always loved the beautiful, two-level vaulted ceilings at the former Arlington restaurant space...BLT Prime kept the architecture (beautiful) and brought their wonderful staff and menu in (yay!)The cheesy popovers... my friends, verrry filling, if youre going to indulge, and you must, go for the doughy, moist inside first (doesnt even need butter).A must share - again, filling! - the bacon app. Big enough for three to share. Rich, melts like buttah in your mouth.Lobster salad, good, but wish the lobster was more chilled. Table mates shared a steak, which they loved and the loaded baked potato, great presentation, you get cheese, scallions, butter, sour cream, bacon bits in little containers, you decide what to load with!Good vibe, relaxed, loved it.
Impressive setting: if you want to make an impression, BLT Prime will make a significant contribution. My preference then goes to meat, which is excellent. One of their particularities is the bread they serve at the beginning. Very friendly staff, but, in my case, they initially forgot us; fortunately neither I was in a hurry nor I was missing the arguments with my guest, otherwise it would have been a little annoying. I couldnt pay with my Amex, but ...

2021-08-17This steakhouse was amazing. The staff was super friendly and my waiter was awesome (shout out to Wilson). He was friendly and explained the menu very well. The food was amazing as well. I will definitely be coming back here.

2021-12-05We had the untraditional Thanksgiving with BLT Steak UES and it was wonderful. The popovers are great as always and the steak perfectly done at medium rare with a wonderful crust. Go for the potato skins because they are 4 star potato skins! The service and staff were excellent, friendly and attentive but never intrusive. It was truly just a good vibe w guests and staff. We used to come here when it was Payard (Frankie, you are missed). Then the Arlington/Lexington Club. Im glad that BLT has the beautiful space now because it has a very special and warm soul.

2022-07-15I forgot to take any pictures because the food looked to amazing to wait. The staff was awesome and the food was divine. I highly suggest going here if you ever want a great steak meal. The tuna tartare app was a delight.

2022-05-28Wow and wow!It was our first dinner out since having our baby and our first time going to BLT on the UES. Our meal was great, but our waiter Michael really made our first night dinner out in months awesome.Because of Michael’s great service we will definitely be back sooner than later.

2022-06-13This was our first time at this wonderful restaurant. Quite an impromptu decision. It was 5:15pm, no reservations and they gave us a booth for two. Nice touch. We ordered two margaritas. Delish. Perfectly done without fuss. Then the bread crips with pate.A Wow!! I was now full but I wanted to keep eating. We had the calamari and the artichoke hearts. Another absolutely delish moment. The sauces that came with them were a wonderful addition. The puffed cheese bread was the best I’ve had. Then the steak, a filet, perfectly prepared and seasoned although the large salt container on the table was a nice addition. I didn’t need salt but I loved the salt shaker. The corn side was also amazing, spicy and more like a pudding. Here’s the most surprising part of the dinner. We ordered a piece of the chocolate cake to go. A many layered scrumptious looking piece of cake. I will be honest, I don’t like desserts. I rarely eat them and if I do, it’s a mouthful. I especially never eat chocolate cake, I’m more a vanilla person. Well, when I tasted that piece of chocolate cake at home I could not believe how good it was. I mean, I ate half and now the second night (and just as good) I’m unable to contain myself. I am so glad we decided to stop and have dinner here. I will certainly be back.

2021-03-24BLT Prime - an old school steakhouse.No doubt one of the best steak in Manhattan.The complementry bread as a wellcome, was surprisingly amaizing, and the steaks were perfect done.When such a meal accompanied with a good wine and a professional service the enjoyment is perfect.

2022-06-02Amazing steaks & desserts. Order the filet mignon, New York strip, Kansas City steak, Sole fish, tuna tartare, and salads. The chef threw in cheese cake, chocolate cake and popovers. Everything is perfectly prepared and taste great (even if we ordered as pick up and brought the food home.)Will def purchase steaks from BLT prime again in the future. Recommended!

2022-07-02I live nearby and made a reservation for 2, since that was required. When I called to reschedule, I spoke to Sergio and revealed that I would come alone. He is perhaps Italian (I don’t know) and said it was fine for me to come as a single. About an hour later, I saw that the reservation had been cancelled by the restaurant. I have never received such a show of BLATANT DISCRIMINATION!! And for what? I’m from France and this would Never happen: NeverAfter the restaurant read what I wrote, Sergio called me to talk and , I learned that this was a big misunderstanding. I learned that in order to modify a reservation, the restaurant must first cancel it.Sergio could not have been more kind and accommodating. I will go there with or without a companion. Can’t rate the food since I didn’t eat.
