Blu Cafe is by far the best cafe I’ve been to. I’m a regular there and I normally get an iced chai tea late (try it) and all the workers know me by name and everything. The service is fast, reliable, and easy to order and the workers are friendly and now I know most of them personally. They are one of the first cafes to open during COVID-19 and they made an amazing outdoor experience with games and seating with good views of The Hudson River. I’m a local on Riverside and this is the only place to get a small snack or a drink so it’s pretty popular. Many people say that the coffee is undrinkable but that is not true, the coffee can be customized the way you want no matter how you want it. Although you might just want to get their signature drink, Blu Latte, you should also try the iced chocolate (iced hot chocolate), a caramel coffee, or as I said before; a chai latte.
Good coffee and good food. But they need to update the information or at least put a sign outside with the schedule. Because i just went for a coffee at 5 pm and they told me they were closed for the day. Its not the first time this has happened. Yesterday I went at 5.30 and they were open.
At first, I appreciated the Cafe as it seemed community oriented. However, they have now made that whole area unsafe by stationing seating areas so that no pedestrian can walk by, safely. There is no way to maintain physical distance from people who are unmasked and talking while seated (whether or not they are actually eating or drinking). This has forced pedestrians to try to jockey for space in the street, causing a dangerous situation for cars, bicyclists, and pedestrians. They could have just used one side for their outdoor seating, but, no, they have to use both sides. When it is crowded, they also have lots of people standing in the middle of the sidewalk waiting to order or pick up their order. It is just chaos. Yes, these are unprecedented times and businesses need help but, not at the expense of public safety.
Nice little neighborhood gem of a coffee place. Very convenient for residents. In the warmer months, could be a nice diversion with a great river view without leaving the river. In the colder months, could be a safe haven from the freeze with a great view.

Always friendly staff. A bit on the pricey side due to the location, but otherwise, great coffee and a good selection of snacks, sandwiches and pastries.
The people who work here are lovely. The food is abysmal. I will never come back after the soggy, sloppy, nothing (ONE slice of cheese) sandwich I paid $9 for!
The seating and general common areas are noticeably dirty and the food options are packaged convenience store-like items requiring heating. There is no bathroom and the service was below average. The coffee (Americano) was good, however.
I like it but they could do a better job with the pastries and sandwiches. The ambience is pretty relaxing and I love their coffee. I like coming in the morning and work on my laptop.
I absolutely loved my Green Tea Latte! I am a tea-fanatic and their Tavalon teas are top-notch.(1) There are plenty of windows and you get to see the Hudson.(2) Friendly and knowledgeable staff(3) Airy space with great ventilation. OMG. I have been in too many coffee shops, and this is especially true in Starbucks, where it is stuffy. Definitely doesnt get too crowded, but has a steady pace of stop-and-go customers.HIGHLY RECOMMEND IF YOU ARE PASSING BY THE NEIGHBORHOOD! A GREAT REPRIEVE FROM THE HORDES OF PEOPLE FROM LINCOLN CENTER AND COLUMBUS CIRCLE!!!

Very nice spot in the summer! I love how its close to the road in a very nice area of the city. The food and coffee is really good and the staff is friendly.
Cool little coffee shop attached to a real estate office where you can look at 7-figure homes as you sip a cold brew that constitutes a third of your own hourly wage.(Their prices are pretty good, I’m just broke 😿)

This is a clean, bright, friendly cafe. The barista brought my friend and I water while we waited. Nice clientele and roomy space with newspapers to read. I will be back in when in the area again!

Pretty and clean place, great strong espresso, they even have oatley milk!!!! Juices and small sweet and savory bites.
Had a nice half decaf Americano and a chocolate chip scone. Both were delicious.

2021-07-21Matcha all ready very sweet 😠, the staff just correct. They don’t have any menu or plate to tell what drinks they have, you need look on the web.Don’t have inside sitting.But outside is nice to spend time in the shade and not so comfy sitting area.

2022-07-09I cant believe Ive lived in the area for a few years but only stopped by Blu Café yesterday! I had THE BEST bacon egg + cheese on a croissant - I believe Howard made it. Gio, the manager, was awesome and the entire staff was incredibly fun and kind spirited. Im looking forward to coming back!

2019-12-17I’m rarely if ever on Riverside Blvd. it’s a residential area with tall buildings and doorman. Way over my pay scale. Nestled within this community is the Blu Café. Business brought me over here today, and it’s a really nice place to have a meeting. Theirs ample parking during the day also. On sunny warm days the park is but a few steps away. I got a latte and it was wonderfully perfect. Theirs a nice selection of pastries but the cinnamon coffee cake is awesome. I bought two slices. It was really yummy. Theirs soft music playing in the background and it won’t distract you with whatever task you’re doing or just relaxing. The baristas, Gio and Rahim are friendly and attentive. Nice people. 2021-12-16My family and I’ve been visiting the café for quite some time now. lived in the neighborhood for about 5 years. But it wasn’t till they switch management that my wife and I started going. Young manager and younger staff that work there . Very nice 👍 pet friendly, dark roast coffee, great egg sandwiches, weekends are our favorite time to go, Sundays they play the game outside.

2021-12-12I respect the staff as they are essential workers staying open during this pandemic. The staff is very pleasing to be around positive energy positive vibes and overall outstanding. I do however, have my favorites; the manager Sam is absolutely amazing I’ve never seen someone so hands-on and respectful one barista name Diego so charming and his coffee is amazing. Selah it’s another young man that works there such a sweet nice and kind person. If you’re ever there or around or nearby this is a gem. The grab and go sandwiches have gotten so much better very filling and worth the price! The breakfast sandwiches!!!! please make sure you catch the manager behind the station! On the weekends is the best time. They opened up inside so a few people can see it it would be nice if the real estate next to it can open up their space and work together with the café in regards to the seating area. That for sure will help them increase the amount of people that come to the shop, even though they do not have a public restroom and the seating is extremely limited bringing a friend from out of town to this lovely small coffee bar is a nice way to show that not all of New York is bad this place is warming fun the music is great and you will meet my three favorite people!

2021-05-02Not much of a lunch place. Primarily just a coffee shop. Already made sub sandwiches had more bread than anything else. Mustard was like 1 teaspoon which was saturated by the bread. Coffee is good. Coffee Crumbcake was awesome.

2019-09-12Great location for residents as only cafe here. small but quiet store. Other places to get better bubble tea. Good pastries and other items like ice cream and flowers. Child friendly. Get a point card if frequent customer. Lady servers are nice. Older man who is usually there can smile more and remember customers for a better experience. Once I had to ask hot drink to be re-made a few times. It was watery once then very cold another. Good place for locals in the area or to kill time.
