Blue Bottle Coffee in other cities:
The coffee is delicious, but unfortunately the experience was not. My friend and I went in, and when the staff took our order he asked if it was for here or to go. We said for here, and he checked our vaccination cards. We went to sit down, but there were signs that said “no indoor seating.” Because of this I double checked with him and asked if we could sit inside. He said yes. So we sat down, and so did a other guests. After a few minutes, a manager(?) came in and she started screaming at everyone seated, very rudely told us that there was a sign, and basically insinuated that we were all stupid. I don’t have a problem with their policies to counter the spread of covid. However, I do have a problem with being screamed at. I felt like I was getting in trouble in elementary school. This person clearly needs to learn how to communicate better, especially with the staff that obviously thought something different. This happened on 1/7/22 at around 2 or 3pm.
Usually blue bottle cafe employs are nice but it seems like that wasnt the case for this location in particular. I was having difficulty choosing from the menu because I couldnt see properly and the worker there gave me a nasty attitude. The coffee was amazing as per usual so it was upsetting to have this kind of experience as I have been a loyal blue bottle customer ever since I tried their coffee last year. I hope it was just the case of having a bad day for this particular employee. I wont name names.
Visited NYC a couple months ago and found this cafe. For a chain, it’s coffee is amazing. I had the New Orleans coffee and all I can say is a latte has no business being that good. It was a cafe I went back to a couple of times. The service was great and the people are pleasant.
I order ice Americano, the employee used paper cup for me and just half cup. They didnt explain anything. They were talking and laughing when they did my coffee no mask. This was a very bad experience in this store. And I ordered three coffees over 18 dollars. Overpriced.
Having a cup of blue bottle is a MUST when you visit US, staffs are sooo niceeeee here, they will ask you what will you want for today and then you pay for it and ask for your name, when your cup of blue bottle is almost done, they will called your name and you come in front and make your cups in front of you, it’s really nice here. This is Hot chocolate $4.75+taxHot chocolate is not too sweet non bitter, very good
Dropped by blue bottle during a brief layover in NYC. Got there fairly early around 7am and was able to avoid the long lines. Staff were polite and friendly. The store was fairly small and there was not a lot of sitting room - just a few seats on the side of the store and therefore I made my order to go. Ended up getting the New Orleans coldbrew with half and half ($4.50). It was extremely smooth, creamy and delicious with a hint of organic sugar cane and chicory.Bryant park is just across the street. Its a nice place to sit and enjoy your drink.
In short, I love the Blue Bottle location at Bryant Park. The venue is small and intimate, perfect for getting a quick coffee on the go.When I visited the place, they offered a wide range of sandwiches (I got the mozzarella one which was great) and some chocolate cookies as well. The coffee is great as well, a bit pricey, but that’s what you pay for Blue Bottle coffee. Best part about this location (compared to other Blue Bottle locations in the city) is that it’s on Bryant Park! Get you cup, walk outside and find a place in the park.
Come here once in a while for an afternoon coffee break. If you’ve never had Blue Bottle coffee before, get ready to start preferring it to all other options — it’s outstanding (but does hurt your wallet). Tried a Cafe Mocha for the first time today; the chocolate flavor was rich and amazing!
We use Blue bottle coffee beans (Hayes Valley) for my home espresso machine( Breville, the Barista Express). Whenever I have guests coming, and after they tried our coffee. They are all amazed by how good our coffee machine is. But I know the secret is truly the coffee beans!
This little coffee shop had outstanding coffee to say the least... the breakfast items were also out of this world. The view is also a knock out, your smack dab right across the street from one World Trade Center. The customer service was great and the facilities were CLEAN! I can’t wait to come back.
Great coffee shop. Grab a cup and head outside to Bryant Park across the street to soak up the sun or reflect on a cloudy day.I dont know how the baristas can manage a row of drips and counter at the same time, but they did a good job!Ive always liked Blue Bottles cappuccino. Unfortunately, not much seating though so dont plan to hang around...
Poor poor poor attitude from the woman at the register. Blue bottle is my favorite coffee in nyc , but because of my last two experiences here getting yelled at, when adjusting my mask for less than 1 second. This time, she had an attitude when I couldn’t hear her telling me the price. Coffee is great, however if you want to stay in a good mood don’t come to this location until she’s fired. Horrible attitude. I keep repeating that, because that’s how upsetting the experience was. Walked in with a great mood, and walked out angry.Poop service. Great coffee.
Is there another coffee chain that makes such reliably delicious coffee as Blue Bottle? The lattes are creamy and succulent with a ton of coffee flavor that bursts through. Even the pastries they offer are delicious though a bit pricey. It’s fairly quick at this location as there isn’t a ton of traffic here. Great spot for picking up in midtown.
Not a huge fan of Blue Bottle but its a decent place with decent coffee. Better than your typical Starbucks, for sure. I personally just dont enjoy theirs roasts. I feel that the company as a whole tries too hard to add flavors / more flavor to their roasts, but again thats just one mans opinion.Still enjoyed my cup of Single Origin Kenyan coffee. Thats what I would recommend if you go here. Grab one of there single origin roasts instead of the fancy ones, if youre down for simple black coffee. None of that milk and sugar :p
This is very accessible to bryant park but i found it a little expensive when compared to other coffee shops around! $11 for a cappuccino and almond croissant - probably its because as a Canadian after conversion, it comes to $14 which is a lot and high end coffee shops in Toronto doesnt cost that muchAnyways besides the pricing, loved their cappuccino and so is their almond croissant , they do have about 4-5 seating. Also the customer service was goodVery attentive and makes the coffee to the perfection especially the art on top of it shows it how much they care about the business and employees.
Coming from Ann Arbor, MI, home to some pretty great coffee ourselves, Blue Bottle struck a chord with me that resonated the same way our local favorite places do.Hipster aesthetics usually indicate the coffee is good, and this place was no exception with their flavorful roasts. However, this particular visit in early July embodied some of the not-so-great parts of hipster culture and well. Namely the stereotypical snobbery associated with the typecast.Customer service was just that, serviceable; that usually separates these places from the rest of the pompous pack. Since they failed to get that separation, Blue Bottle Coffee gets a three for me.Enjoy the lovely Bryant Park view everybody!
Had a DELICIOUS latte here! I also like that they prepare many of their drinks the traditional Italian way. That’s not how I like my macchiatos, so I switched to latte, but staff member was super friendly about clarifying their style. I’m glad I stopped here instead of Starbucks!
Excellent coffee, would highly recommend the New Orleans cold brew, very good. The mocha is also terrific, with a very real cocoa taste. This store has a nice atmosphere with about 8 seats available. If you can get a seat though it is nice to relax and enjoy your coffee.
In the coffee world, this was one of the first companies to “sell out” to a large corporation. So I almost hate the fact that this is the consistently the best coffee I have in New York. I’m drinking coffee 24/7 from any decent establishment. Blue Bottle always stands out. The simple reason is because they still do pour overs for each cup.
I am a fan on the Blue Bottle experience - the coffee, culture and atmosphere. It is expensive, it is slow, and in my opinion, it is worth it. The staff always seems very friendly, even when its very early, and generally well prepared and knowledgeable. Overall I am hard pressed to find something on the menu I dont like - the cold brews are good if youre in a hurry. Much better than most competitors, really worth a try.
Started in San Francisco, Blue Bottle is now in New York. Excellent coffee and pastries. Several locations which are very small. Most people grab n go anyway, and the parks just across the street. Fabulous latte, quick service even with a line. Took the latte and went right over to Bryant Park across the street to sip and view. Wonderful experience that we went back!
Weve got a great coffee culture scene in London, and Im addicted to coffee. Was attracted to this place as it showed high ratings. If this is the best latte in city, Im greatly disappointed: a watery latte, no silky froth, mand a ham baguette dry and not tasty at all. Paid $15 dollars for this takeaway option as there is not space to sit down and relax. It was not worth it. Still hope to find a good coffee in here 😡
It’s essential to start my day with good coffee. Blue Bottle has excellent coffee, a good pastry selection, fast service, and a speedy barista team. I was working the New York Times Food Festival and spotted Blue Bottle. Yayy!! Its conveniently located right off the subway. Although they were busy, the baristas hustled through the line to get drinks out; they were fast and efficient. They made my oat milk latte with a quickness and I was outta there with my smooth drink!
Brilliant Blue Bottle! I had heard lots of great things about this coffee company online (I am from the UK), so was eager to try it. The staff are very friendly, really efficient and make excellent coffee. Absolutely wonderful, cant wait to try their other branches and the other third wave cafes in NYC!
My first time at a Blue Bottle Coffee. It seems like all their hot coffee is pour over. I tried the 3 africas. I first thought I might have wanted the Guatemala but the cashier warned me it was $10! Glad he did. 3 africas is terrific and the pour over method really makes it shine.
Had a hojicha latte and it was good, I have had better but considering it is not a specialty tea place I would say it was great for value and convenience. This is a cute location and limited seating so don’t plan on meeting a large group here. It is a in and out kind of place
Not sure if I just came on a good day or this branch is exceptional (because I’ve been to other blue bottles in the city) but I had the best cortado of my life here. However blue bottle overall guarantees a certain level of quality and you won’t be disappointed when you hand over that $5
Surprised by how extremely busy they were even on a late Sunday morning. Still super quick service, but no real room to sit or wait as usual and overpriced as usual. The best thing here is their maple pecan blondies which theyve discontinued - crazy! Not much point in returning now. Also dont like how they dont ask for your name, just read it off your card when your drink is ready, its a bit rude and an invasion of privacy.
Fantastic coffee, friendly and knowledgeable baristasDefinitely try some of their single origins and the The wait can be a bit long for the single origins/drips, especially at peak times but its good to go for the espresso drinks at such times.Summer calls for the New Orleans Iced coffee which is by far the best iced coffee in town.
Last 3 times I’ve visited the location they weren’t opened by the time posted, instead you end up watching the employees scramble to get ready or post a paper on the door saying “ Open at 6:45” when the hours of operation state 6:30. I can understand things happen but now it’s a habit. It’s a shame I really do enjoy their coffee.
This is my favorite Blue Bottle location in New York. It may be because the coffee is consistently good quality. Or it may be because its just next to Bryant Park, allowing one to easily enjoy it on a bench or on the lawn. Theres also some minimal counter seating inside.
Lapin and I came here because the addicted wanted his coffee. He has been a fan of Blue Bottle, Cafe Grumpy and Stumptown. Hes a fan of the coffee but I am not one for coffee. He liked the iced coffee he ordered. I got a cinnamon cookie which as meh for the price. They did offer to warm it up for me which was nice. Lapin on the other hand said his barista was unpleasant and not very friendly towards him. There was almost no wait but the place has very limited seating and space which were being occupied but other coffee lovers. We had to stand for a bit before we got stools lined next to the WeWork side (fun to people watch).
I love Blue Bottle Coffee - that warrants at least four stars. But this location is a shitshow. Sandwiched between Bryant Park and a popular coworking space, this cafe is slammed with tourists and office workers. With less than ten seats inside, theres zero reason to stop in unless youre craving Blue Bottle. Dont bring a date here, dont come here for a client meeting. (Theyre the same thing, arent they?)Go off hours if you dont want your order forgotten, and if you want full attention spent on you.Credit accepted.
Tips are common manners in New york. And I well understood about it. Usually blue bottle guy gave me a chance to choose which rate of tip I want before paying. But a person in this store was not asking me about tip, even I just bought a Tumbler. If the Tip is their policy, I can pay, but I can choose it.
I went to the first branch in Brooklyn few times few years ago. It was consistently excellent. Now I see they are all over NYC, I got a latte here and it was barely ok, too weak. They need to mantain quality as they expand. Not going again to this branch, but may give a shot to one of the others.
This place is overwhelming overrated. A fraction of what the other location are known for. My Americano was pretty terrible the green tea we order was worse. I does one ruin tea? I guess because this place is more turn and burn its become quantity over quality. Id walk a block or to the other side of the park to get something better.
There are different sections of seating in this branch one next to the cashier, one next to the big windows looking out the street, and one section further in the back of the store. I prefer bright lighting, so I chose to sit at a table in the area next to the street-side window.
The service is horrible for our visit. All the guest came behind us got their drinks earlier than us.They were rude, forgot our drink and didn’t even apologize, I guess being big size doesn’t necessarily proportionately large brain.By the way, we only ordered two drinks lol.
I generally hate Blue Bottle because of their anal retentive policies on how their coffee is served (for the love of God, put a double espresso to go on the menu) and generally unpleasant/pretentious employees, but this location has a lively and lovely group of employees and makes very little fuss about the product they put out. Docking a star because too expensive compared to what else is around here (Gregorys, Culture, etc.).

2022-04-04Small, cute coffee shop across Bryant Park. I have visited many BB coffee shops in NYC because I just like BB so much. Awesome coffee beans, and for this one, it is nice to see the team works pretty well and efficient. Many of them are also so stylish. Aha. A bonus! Anyway, so with the coffee, you can either drink in the cafe (well... It is quite small and tho) or just cross the street and enjoy the free space and everything else at the Park. When I was staying for almost a month in town, I visited this coffee shop almost everyday. I love it.

2022-05-04I was pleasantly surprised by this tiny coffee shop. I knew there were many locations throughout New York and had low expectations. However, the cappuccino was excellent. It had the right texture, the right balance between coffee, milk, and foam, and tasted amazing.I had a cappuccino the next day from a different shop and ended up coming back to this Blue Bottle location immediately after. Also, the staff were friendly and knowledgeable on their coffee!

2021-12-16Nice to have a blue bottle just besides Bryant Park. Good quality coffee. However, I don’t like how Blue Bottle markets it’s history with the Turks in Vienna. It’s kind of disturbing. But right, the coffee is good in 2021.

2022-07-27Got the hot sweet latte and the new orleans coffee in oat milk. Both were good. We had a good morning with good coffee in the park.Got both in small sizes but we were perfectly happy with the amount if coffee we had.The person at the cashier was helpful enough to explain to me spiced nola vs new orleans coffee, which helped me decide what to get.

2022-04-19Too hyped and ridiculously expensive. I had oat cappuccino and was disappointed. Milk wasn’t smooth and too much. Maybe i should have tried their drip instead.

2022-08-06Good coffee - consistent with the ones in the Bay Area. The lattes are well done and strong - the size for an iced latte is incredibly small though.
