At the risk of making this place harder for me to get in to I’m going to tell you that it’s phenomenal. I’ve been coming to this spot for 40 years and it’s never been close to as good as it is under the current owners. Tonight we ordered every appetizers between 3 of us. Unbelievably great. Then we had equally as good entrees. The place will amaze you!
Prior to booking our stay we made it clear we were looking for peace and quiet. We were told to book a cabin and not a motel room if we didnt want to hear other guests. During our stay the owner of the hotel threw a huge party. He set up speakers and a dance floor less than 30 feet from our cabin. The party was so loud the cabin walls were shaking. Our dog was so frightened from the noise he crawled into the shower to hide. We were the only guests on the property that night. No one informed us of the party and when we started asking questions while the party was being set up we were told it was a small gathering that would last just a few hours -- this was at 4:30 pm. At 10 pm the party was still raging. When we complained about the noise and asked to be put in another cabin or guest house away from the dance floor we were told nothing could be done. In fact, we were treated extremely rudely. In the morning we woke up to find the pool area, which is the reason why we stayed there, was unusable. It was littered with booze bottles and garbage. When we went to the office to complain a grounds worker told us the motel is closed. We were left alone on the property. So bizarre. This establishment has zero transparency. They dont post their refund policies on their site. There is no housekeeping but they dont inform guests of that, and there are offer quirks we chose to ignore until the party. At the very least, management she have informed us there was an event that night right next to our cabin after we booked, so we could have decided to cancel our stay and book somewhere else. We spent a lot of money (for us) to stay there -- including at their restaurant and bar. We were GREAT GUESTS. Worse we cant afford long vacations (week or more). This long weekend was suppose to be a treat but it turned out to be a nightmare. We have been trying to reach the motel for more than 24 hours to get a refund and no one is responding. This is officially the worst and loudest place we ever stayed. If we wanted to spend the night in a place that sounded like the Las Vegas strip, we would have gone to Vegas. We cant believe that a motel owner would subject guests to something like this. We posted a few photos but we have more if anyone wants to see them. We also have video documenting the noise from our cabin. Happy to share!
This place is not your average motel. We decided to stay last minute. The owner, Jorge, was amazing and able to accommodate us.Our suite was great. It was super spacious. The decor was antiques and original art work. The suite came with a mini kitchenette and necessary equipment. The property includes a pool with tons of seating. The restaurant was great. I had cod cakes and they were delicious. My husband had lollipop chicken and loved it.The property is located so close to Ten Mile River, which is gorgeous. The staff was so kind, definitely not your typical motel atmosphere. We will definitely be back.If youre in the Upper Delaware area this is a must.
We LOVED the Blue Fox! We were searching for a place to go for a Girlfriends Getaway. Options were limited due to COVID. What was perfect about the Blue Fox was its safe and social-distance friendly setup. The rooms all have their own unique entrances to the outside, so no worries about needing to navigate inside spaces with other guests. The restaurant has outdoor tables. And the lovely expanse of the grounds makes it easy to enjoy the property while never feeling crowded. My friends and I spent a couple of glorious afternoons by the pool and also felt very safe. The seating is spaced apart (about 10 between lounge chairs) and there was plenty of space to share with the other guests without feeling crowded or unsafe.I cant think of another property that Ive stayed at that is so charming and welcoming. The rooms are beautiful and clean, each with its own character, unique decor and furniture. The owners and their staff are incredibly friendly and hospitable. And the 2 goats on the property (Amelia and Shonda) are adorable and put the charm factor into overdrive! There are many options for lodging at the BF. We stayed in the suites for this visit, but are looking forward to going back and booking the house for a larger family getaway. We cant wait to go back!
Restaurant has a small but thoughtful and satisfying menu, ranging from burgers to grilled pork belly to salmon. The bar is well stocked, and they make proper stiff cocktails. The roaring fireplace is at once elegant, toasty and cozy to sit by in mid-century modern lounge chairs with said cocktail during these cold winter months. The staff is friendly, competent, and is not pretentious like a lot of these new restaurants around here serving the misguided NYC expatriate crowd.Halfway between Narrowsburg and Baryville, disguised as a roadside motel, the Blue Fox is a local gem.
Fiancé and I were driving through on a cold winter New Year’s Day. We stopped for dinner. Talk about a diamond in the ruff. I had the tuna melt and the peppermint bark martini. He had the white chili and blue moon beer on the side. Both were delicious. Couple that with a warm fire and excellent service, this place truly has it all. Would definitely come back.
The restaurant was fantastic! Food was top notch I had chicken (delicious) and my husband had the salmon which he said was excellent! Could not have asked for better service, from Andre at the bar to Pamella our server they made us feel right at home. What a great find! We will be making this a regular dinner stop.
Loved the vibe , food and service. Great retro space with attention to detail .Pam, the manager, is welcoming and makes you feel right at home. Waitstaff is also so sweet.Open everyday but Monday. Can’t wait to go in winter and sit by the cool fireplace. Another wonderful place in Sullivan County NY.
Me and my family decided to go for a short road trip from Queens, NY, to somewhere Upstate, we just wanted to get out of the crowed places and breathe some fresh air without putting others in danger...A long the way we found this lovely Motel, and let me tell you, this is the PERFECT spot to be now in these days, they have private cabins with build-in kitchen, living room, etc... Sparkle clean guys!!!Once again you won’t be in contact with anyone, and still get to enjoy all the nature has to offer. We will definitely back

2022-06-20The food is very tasty. George and the bartender are awesome as well. Cozy place for dinner. Excellent Manhattans and are served in the appropriate size glass, meaning it is a drink, not a tease.Very fair pricing. Keep up the good culinary flavors. Kevin M

2022-06-24Went to this motel’s restaurant after a long ride from New York as per friend’s recommendation — loved all the food we got, but the pork sausage that was slowly lit on fire and the roasted pork were to die for. There’s a very cute seating area outdoors with the fireplace. The indoors is equally charming and the bartender makes the meanest cocktails; try the jalapeño one and you won’t be disappointed. Can’t wait to be back.

2022-05-03Great getaway destination from the busy city! The staff is outstanding and the food is 5 stars. The surroundings are peace and filled with lots of nature to explore on foot or by car. Great location for family reunions and special occasions, as well as a solo vacation.

2022-02-13Came here for take out after a long day with the kiddos at Kartrite on November 19. Delicious dinner but even more meaningful—the bartender that night is a vibe. He made an amazing smoky Manhattan and was super sweet to my son, delighting him w a ginger ale refill. Love this place. Can’t wait to come back for dinner.

2021-07-14We had a wonderful experience all around. Everyone was very pleasant and accommodating on My call to book our stay and for dinner reservation on property. We got in a little early and Jessica was very hospitable and checked us in to a room early as well as moving up our dinner reservation. The property is very well maintained and clean. I love the vibe and look. I also met one of the owners George (J) not sure if you spell with a G or J. He was very nice as well. I will be recommending this gem and coming back as well to enjoy.

2021-08-09Truly a lovely weekend at one of the houses on the property of the Blue Fox! House is charming and has everything we needed for an incredible stay- from a fire pit to fun games (corn hole and a ping pong table) to comfy bed mattresses! The staff is unbelievably friendly and go above and beyond to make your stay amazing! The food and drinks were delicious and the staff is knowledgeable on both matters. Definitely returning to take kids rafting nearby.

2021-10-17My husband and I LOVED our stay at the fabulous Blue Fox Motel! I wasnt sure what to expect and I was blown away by this top notch motel and restaurant outside of Narrowsburg, NY. We had dinner at the restaurant, where the food was truly excellent. Two thumbs up for the octopus appetizer and the pork belly entree. The restaurant has a full bar and signature cocktails in addition to wine, beer and spirits. The service we received was the kind of service we usually only get in a Manhattan restaurant (pre-pandemic Manhattan, that is) and was attentive without being intrusive. And this is an ideal place to have a boozy dinner with a mate or friends and walk right up to your room.We stayed in one of the cabins which had windows on all sides to see the gorgeous foliage - the woods are right outside the cabin window. The entire property appears to have been lovingly renovated with an eye to detail. The owners have included all the modern comforts while adding notable touches like antique barn wood and midcentury style accents.I dont know if there is a name for their signature style but I think it qualifies as rustic deluxe. I cant wait to go back in the summer and swim in the pool and maybe do a rafting trip down the Delaware. On second thought, with individual climate control in each cabin, we may be back this winter to sleep in their super comfortable beds. I plan to go back to the Blue Fox and I plan to bring some friends with me - I know they will enjoy it as much as we did!

2021-05-13Staying at the blue fox motel was the most fun, relaxing vacation my family has had in years. Being next to the river and listening to the water in the morning took me thousands of miles away from the stress of New York City. The accommodations are lovely, and my kids enjoyed petting the goat and getting the opportunity to spend time outdoors. The meal at the Blue Fox restaurant was delicious, and all of the staff were incredibly kind and helpful.I cannot wait to visit again! I wish I could come every weekend!!!
