What a diamond in the rough! We made reservations to stay here during Americade and dont regret it! Updated rooms, quiet surroundings, excellent service from the owner Tammy. She was super helpful! The rooms are very clean and updated. I wish the showers were bigger, but dont we all? I will definitely come back again. If you need a nice, quiet, clean place to stay, book a room now! You wont regret it!
We love everything about blue ridge motel. It was a cozy place, the room was big enough for my family, had a complimentary breakfast at their fancy breakfast corner. Tammy (owner/staff) was extremely generous, she was helping me to check in early because we were running late, she was checking on us either we were okay or not when we get there. we gonna come back for a winter trip
My fiancé and I stayed here for a night and the only thing bad I can say is I wish we could stay for another day. This place is so cozy, charming and very clean. Tammy the owner is the sweetest!!! She was so helpful, very accommodating, down to earth and easy and fun to talk to. We will definitely be back for sure :)
We had a phenomenal stay here! We came for two nights to hike a high peak. We arrived late on Friday and Tammy had packed us breakfasts and left them in the fridge in our room for us since we were going to leave for our hike early the next morning before the continental breakfast started! Everything was clean and comfortable. We were really impressed with how nice everything was especially given the great price! Will definitely stay here again!
Tammy is a amazing lodge owner, having a wonderful gem north of Schroon Lake and enroute to the north to hiking and gorgeous mountain views and rivers. We loved our room, which was clean and cozy. She offers a breakfast with the room which has something for everyone. It was delicious. We loved our stay and will return.
The rooms my friend and I stayed in was the perfect size and cleaned well prior to our arrival. Tammy was very accommodating to our crate trained dogs coming with us that we discussed with her prior to our arrival. We also left early to snowboard one day and Tammy provided us a bagged breakfast in our room complete with a fun and unique riddle. Tammy was friendly and happy to assist us with anything we needed. We had an amazing trip and having a comfortable, clean, and safe place to go back to after our days of adventuring made our trip so much better. Thank you, Tammy! We will definitely be back in the future.
I highly recommend staying here! The customer service is excellent and the motel is very cute, recently redone and very clean. The continental breakfast is absolutely amazing! So many choices of food to choice from. There is a 4 person glider swing and and outdoor fire pit with Adirondack chairs outside to enjoy. You wont regret staying here! I will absolutely be back
Review as of October 7, 2021: We are here right now. And our visit this time is just as wonderful as the first time. Tammy, the owner, is an absolute sweetheart. My Baby Girl has gone through a lot these past few months. With losing loved ones and changes going on in her life she’s been beyond overwhelmed. We visited very many beautiful places here in the Adirondacks and were happy to have visited them. But at the end of the day all she wanted was to be here at Blue Ridge Motel and enjoy a beautiful fire at the fire pit. Thank you, Tammy, for this wonderful place.Review from April 2021: We had such a wonderful stay at the Blue Ridge Motel. Tammy Brown, the new owner of the motel since December 2019, is such a lovely person. The moment we met her we knew we made the right choice to stay at her motel. She has such a loving and uplifting energy, and you can see it manifest in how she designed her rooms, as well as the check-in area. She took what could have been just simple motel rooms and made each of them so beautiful and unique from one another. And the check-in area, which also includes a gift shop, breakfast area and a sitting area, were so beautifully designed too. Soooo creative!!! Our room was comfortable and clean and quiet. And we absolutely loved, loved, loved being able to make a fire outdoors in one of the two fire-pits that were on the property. We also met a lovely couple from NH while celebrating life and serenity around the fire-pit. We really didn’t want to leave and return back to where we live. In fact, we were in a funk upon our return. God (and finances, as well as time) willing, we will be back as soon as we can. Thank you so very much, Tammy, for everything!!!P.S. Tammy also has a wealth of knowledge. She gave us some great suggestions about where to go for hikes that were tailored to our abilities, as well as other great tips.
The owner of this lodge was very friendly and accomodating. Very pleasant surroundings with a feel of wide open space. We stayed in the newly renovated Serenity Room and was not dissapointed. Beautifully done and a bed so comfortable, you wont want to get out of it. Reasonably priced....will stay there again!!!
Even before we arrived, we had personal contact with the owner of the motel. She called when we were on our way to see if we would like the heat turned on in our room since it was getting a little brisk outside. Little things like these are what makes this place over the top!!Our rooms were amazing. We had adjoining rooms since we were traveling with family. Newly decorated with a quaint country feel, and very clean. Beds were comfortable, and there was even a small refrigerator and microwave.Outside, there were firepits on either end, and even wood to stock the fire. There was a badminton net if you were feeling energetic, and even a quaint multiperson swing. Outside each room, there were cozy Adirondack chairs and tables with seasonal flowers. The appearance was just lovely and welcoming.Breakfast was more than we could even ask for. Great continental breakfast with many choices such as bagels, scones, cereal, etc. Tammy, the owner, was so sweet. She even went out of her way to get lactose free milk for my mother in law who cant handle dairy. We had such a blast and we definitely will be back to this motel. We enjoyed Amanda who was working the front desk and the gorgeous gift shop area. Wylie the guard dog was such a sweet and loving beagle. Such a great area outside of the town, so it is quiet and peaceful and just an overall pleasant experience! Five stars!!!
Excellent place to stay, especially for the price. The customer service provided by Tammy was top notch - she even called ahead of our stay to alert us of a problem with the room we had booked (the air conditioner broke that morning) and helped us choose another suitable room. They are in the middle of renovations and it is quite evident that they are putting in a lot of hard work to make sure people enjoy their stay. There was even a surprise awaiting us for my wifes birthday - balloons! They offer breakfast and have excellent choices, especially for a smaller establishment. I dont often see that outside the more expensive chain motels/hotels.They even have a small gift shop that has a number of items to help your trip should you have forgotten to bring something along, as well as a few very cool Veteran made items with Adirondack/hiking theme that you wont find elsewhere.
We never met Tammy because we arrived late and checked out early, but she checked in with us over the phone and made sure we were comfortable with all of the details. She left a personalized breakfast for us in the fridge for our hike the following day. The room was clean, modern and the AC was functioning on high. Highly recommend!
Have stayed here twice now. Tammy is a great hostess. This is not your typical motel. The rooms are clean, the area is quaint and the price is right. Tammy is so accommodating. She knows our party hikes and offered to pack the continental breakfast for us and leave in our room. Not only did she provide a full breakfast, she personalized the bags. She is always checking in to make sure we are happy and enjoying ourselves. Will definitely stay again and again.
Tammy is wonderful. We were only there a couple days, but well be back. The room was ready when we got there. Everything was clean and fresh. Was nice being able to grab coffee and a light breakfast before taking a stroll on the trails. Looking forward to seeing the place in full fall colors!! Oh and the dog had a good time too!!
Location, price, comfort and hospitality! This adorable motel has all of that and more! Tammy made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our time in the area. If you are looking for a place to rest after a busy day then this is the place for you. The great reviews are well deserved!
My boyfriend and I came to Blue Ridge to spend some time at the falls and thought it might be nice to get a room somewhere in the area so we could enjoy a full day, and some of the next day in this beautiful place. We had driven by The Blue Ridge Motel before and always thought it looked cute. We got a room for an awesome price, and we were blown away by how beautiful our room was ! It was beautifully decorated with thoughtfully handpicked pieces by the owner. From the beautiful painting that blended perfectly with the vibrant, yet tasteful color of the walls and bedspread, to the elegant lamp fixtures, and pretty wall mirror bordered with sparkling silver squares--- It was far more high class than we expected from a quaint little place with such a low price. We kind of expected for the price, it would just be something plain and basic-- but we were pleasantly surprised with the beauty of the décor, and the warm atmosphere. We stayed in The Sweetheart Suite:. I loved it so much, I was curious to see what some of the other rooms looked like too. The owner, Tammy, was kind enough to show me a few of them. Each was just as beautiful, with its own unique theme, décor, and design. The hospitality was amazing. We were treated like family. The owner went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. In addition, the bed was one of the most comfortable Ive ever slept in, and the room came equipped with a flat screen TV, a mini-fridge, and a microwave. Outside were patio chairs, and a beautiful lawn with picnic tables and grills. There is a cute little gift shop in the lobby. It was clean and cozy, peaceful, and beautiful ! We had such a nice stay here, and are so happy we discovered this place- we HIGHLY recommend this place to any and everyone. You will love it !
I have stayed at many places surrounding Moriah Shock Facility and Blue Ridge Motel is by far the most accommodating and up to date Motel that I have stayed at. I was able to go into the room not smell that musty smell that you some times can smell in Motels. I didnt even feel the need to lift up the sheets and check the mattresses. The beds and pillows were comfortable. Yes this is located about a 30 minute drive from the facility but she had our to go breakfast waiting the in the fridge for us when we arrived for the morning which no one else offers. Everything was clean. She was absolutely such a kind person. I would recommend this Motel to everyone. In the spring when I return for some sight seeing I will be sure to book my stay here. Thank you so much
All I have to say is Tammy, she is the owner and she is absolutely amazing. So very accommodating, and has really made something great out of this adirondack establishment. The rooms are cozy, water pressure is great, and beds make for a goodnight sleep. Tammy informed us, and a few other travelers about a great walking trail right near the motel. We walked down to the river and back, then we all got together for a traditional adirondack bonfire. Tammy was putting up her fall hay stocks, and there was plenty of fresh firewood. Other travelers have been here and stayed before, so it was great to see reoccurring customers. Would highly recommend, and would absolutely stay again. Thank you Tammy, and also, Lucy (her sweet 10 week old beagle pupper).
My girlfriend and I stayed here for a few days to take photos and videos of (Jellystone Park) reopening as “Camp Tin Box”. We loved our trip here, Tammy (the owner) was so sweet to us. I definitely recommend the Blue Ridge Motel if you come to Schroon Lake!!! Wish I could give 10 stars!!!! Thanks for a great experience Tammy and everyone at the Ridge.
The Blue Ridge Motel is the perfect getaway. I stumbled into it after bicycling through the rain for about a week. There weren’t many options around for me and I really just needed to get out of the weather. I had cycled more than 4,000 miles when I stumbled across it. Tammy and her family went above and beyond to make my stay more comfortable. I truly felt more like I was staying with family. If you’re in the area and need a place or are planning a peaceful vacation Blue Ridge Motel is the only place you need to look.Pleasant and peaceful all at a great price.
Rented out a room for the night and was greeted with very friendly service. Getting checked in was a breeze, the hostess was very friendly and made you feel right at home. The rooms were very clean and tidy, the beds with soft and it even included a mini fridge to store food in. In the morning we were offered a variety of food and drink options to take on our trip. She offered different locations of interest to check out and great local restaurants to eat at. Will definitely be my first go to for any future visits to the area! Highly recommend!
Immaculately clean, well-priced, friendly hosts, cozy decor, what a find! The nice surprise was a great mattress! Always important.I dont do many reviews but felt compelled to write this to alert everyone to the new ownership and new outlook for this motel. Dont believe all of the negative reviews - thats old news with the old owner. We will be back for sure.
The owner is super friendly and has done an amazing job with the remodel and serving an excellent breakfast for the many hikers that stay at the motel(during a pandemic no less). We really enjoyed our stay - affordable, clean and welcoming. Simple but in the best possible way. We plan to return many times in the future
All newly renovated, lovely location, comfy beds and pillows, super clean and perhaps most of all super friendly! Tammy is a wonderful person and a great host. When we told her wed be leaving for a hike too early for breakfast she bagged us up some bagels and bars and even added some hand written riddles for us to ponder as we hiked. Fire pits and picnic tables add to the ambiance and so close to Paradox Brewery and Schroon Lake... just a great experience all around.
I stayed with three friends for a night while on a trip from New Hampshire. The Host and staff are all super friendly and gave great recommendations on places to eat, explore, and hike while we were in the area. The room was clearly cleaned with care, especially with the hard times going on. Overall could not have had a better experience here at the Blue Ridge Motel, really made us feel at home.
This could be considered a retro Adirondack motel. A vintage from the 50s, it has been fully renovated, providing modern conveniences with a classic mid-20th century look. It is in a great location for summer and winter sports enthusiasts. Very reasonable price and quiet location. We found it offered more than we would have expected. The owners are very friendly and personable, who are there to answer questions and orient guests to the area. They give it a B&B feel. We would certainly go back.
What a life saver for backpackers! Stayed here after spending two weeks hiking in the mountains and would do it again. A great spot to rest and recover. The owner was a very welcoming and friendly host and even let me dry gear in the grass. Very clean and hygienic, I felt safe here.
It’s a beautiful newly renovated hotel run by new owner who is amazing and a very lovely person! The place is spotless and cozy, their beds are super comfortable, I really liked the design of our room. Loved our brief stay there, it’s so worth their modest prices! Highly recommend!
My family of 6 went to this motel in early October so I am a little late with this review. The owner and his wife were great. They were very pleasant to talk to. The motel was exactly what we were looking for. It is in a great location where there is not lot of traffic. They have a trail behind the motel that we walked, and their wonderful dog lead the way. I will definitely go back to this motel. It was a very decent price, it was clean, and the location is great!
The Owner was amazing. Me and a few friends went to the area not really now what there was to do around, but the Owner was able to point us to different places to each and amazing sights to see. And when me and my friend had to leave she gave us directions that took us to several picturesque places. I can not wait to come back again.
I stayed at the Blue Ridge motel a few nights ago with a hiking group that I organized. The rooms was as advertised - not 5 star, but perfectly nice. There was a common room that was very useful to us, as we used it as a base camp for us to organize ourselves. I was especially happy with the service. The new owner was a super nice guy - when we came back from the hike at 7 pm, he let us use showers in a couple of rooms and have our post hike meal in the common room without charging us. He even gave us clean towels to use. I cant think of many motel owners that would do that. If you are hiking or vacationing in the area and not looking to stay in some fancy place that would charge twice as much, this is a fine choice.
When we stayed we ended up planning on staying for two days we stayed for a week Jerry was kind of nice because he gave us a deal on the week. its a great place in the New York State blue ridge mountains to visit I would definitely go back there again I hear they have new owners and its even nicer now than it used to be hopefully Ill get back there before Summers end!!!!!
We unintentionally left our key in a coat pocket and didnt discover it until we returned home. I immediately called the motel to let them know I had the key and would mail it back. The woman informed me that their policy was to charge $35 for an unreturned key, but I would be credited that amount when they received it. After a few days I called to see if they received the key and inquire about the refund. She informed me that they needed to change the locks, and I wouldnt get the refund. I dont appreciate being lied to. The stay was OK. Room was a typical low end motel. Cleanliness was not a priority here.
Nice hotel, good location for getting into high peaks early. Problem is they hit my credit card for $60 after the fact to supposedly pay to rent carpet cleaner to clean water spot on carpet. Said I must have had a pet. Was not willing to send me reciept for cleaner rental.
I reserved a room for one night by calling the Owner, Jerry, directly. I changed the reservation the next day, which was good, because Jerry had mistakenly put me down for two days. Still, Jerry managed to screw it up, erasing the wrong day. So, not only does Jerry totally screw up my vacation he also billed my credit card claiming that this was my mistake.Apparently no the only time this has happened. This guy has no business ethics. Go somewhere else.
Very cozy, quiet, and Jerry the owner made sure my company was well taken care of. The beds were comfortable and the mascot (the 🐕) was even helpful when Jerry showed my team a hike trail 👣 to follow. The best thing was the 🐕 came with us, and I guess escorted us around the woods until we reached the river. First Priority Security, had a GREAT time and well use them again.-Jo Cooper
I like to share my recent experience with the owner of Blue Rigde.Custumers beware of Jerry the most narcissist rude unprofessional owner I have every come across. He is loud and out spoken, will not admit his wrong doing.he does not let you get a word in and tries to turn things around for his benefit. Although his place looks nice who wants to deal with a nasty guy when your on a vacation. You should be ashamed of your self Jerry!!!!
I should have heeded Kassandras previous posting if you dont mind a disgusting bathroom and mysterious stains everywhere I concur! Not sure what DaYardBird is smoking, 5 stars, come on. Id give it zero stars if the system let me. I slept in my sleeping bag that night thats how uncomfortable I felt.

2022-02-15A great stay this past weekend. I was in town for Word of Life Snowcamp and was unable to get lodging at the camp. The Blue Ridge Motel was a perfect option and one I will definitely use in the future when Im in need of lodging in the area. Great customer service. The owner is super friendly and helpful. The rooms are nicely decorated and clean. The breakfast was fine (nothing fancy). The best part of the stay was the community feel to the place. It was cool to talk to families heading out hiking or snowmobiling.

2022-06-23We took a paddle trip to the Schroon Lake region. We chose the Blue Ridge Motel as our base. I cant say enough about this place. The renovated rooms are just lovely....beautiful wood walls, Adirondack decor. Clean and plenty of space, and a very good price. Our host Tammy was great, very interesting lady. She provides a nice breakfast and was fun to talk to, she is very knowledgeable about the area. I think the nicest place we have every stayed in in the Adirondacks, and super convenient to the town of Schroon Lake with some good restaurants.

2022-02-12Excellent place to stay! We only stayed 1 night passing through on a road trip, but would have loved to stay longer and definitely returned. We received extremely personable service from the owner, who helped us checking in late after hours. Nice clean room and very comfy bed! Excellent price. Definitely recommend.

2022-03-30Excellent location between Schroon Lake and North Hudson / Paradox Brewery. Clean rooms, nice beds. Generally great for the price point. Continental breakfast is better than at most nicer hotels. The very friendly owner, Tammy, packed up breakfast for us the night before because we would be leaving early. Highly recommended for a cheaper motel.

2022-03-17Nice, clean motel. Continental breakfast options were very nice. Owner and staff were helpful and pleasant. Perfect location for our work nearby, but would definitely recommend staying there for anyone exploring the local area and the Adirondacks. Stayed in the dog friendly room. Plenty of space available to walk the dog.

2022-05-04Cute little motel tucked just 30 minutes from Ticonderoga, NY!We stayed in the La Chocolate room which was newly renovated, it was super cozy & had independent heat & A/C units in the room. The rooms décor added to its charm along with the comfy rocking chair which was a refreshing change of pace compared to main stream hotels. We were thoroughly surprised to find that this motel was so well taken care of and modernized.
