This store has some unique gift items, but I will never go back there—nothing can justify their rudeness and poor customer service. Recently I received, as a present, a pair of wood salad servers purchased at Blue Tree. Before using them, I rinsed them, by hand, in warm water, with a bit of liquid Palmolive detergent, which I applied with a soft sponge. Once they were dry, I noticed that some of the shiny, protective coating had come off. I took them back to Blue Tree and was immediately and repeatedly accused of having put them in the dishwasher, despite my protestations to the contrary. The saleslady finally agreed to give me another pair, saying that she was first going to wash them herself. As she handed them to me, she admonished, “If it happens again, you’re on your own.” I came home and my husband, after noticing that the new pair seemed to be blistering (I hadn’t noticed this in the dim light of the store), washed them again, by hand, in warm water, with a bit of Palmolive, and the varnish came off quite noticeably in patches, just as it had with the first pair (one wonders what would leach into a salad from these servers on contact with vinegar!) The attitude that the customer is always at fault is perhaps common in other countries around the world, but in the United States any self-respecting store stands behind its merchandise. Shame on Blue Tree.
Unpleasant welcome, you are followed, nothing extraordinary especially for the price, many people out of curiosity in the hope of seeing the owner, on the other hand the womens clothing store next door and really to be recommended (The owner is Phoebe Kates one of the prettiest girl of the 80s to play in particular in Greemlins)

2022-05-15Customer service is generally a thankless task at the best of times. One can only imagine how it is to be phoebe cates doing customer service and putting up with gawking, gormless custys who 90% probably arent in her store to buy anything. I did go to see phoebe but I had the respect to make a reasonable purchase. Shes really cool, but shes there to do a job at the end of the day and that job is not to have her time wasted :-)

2022-02-191980s phoebe cates was a cinema cutie. Reality cates? Nasty person. Rude and hostile staff, Overpriced stuff u can buy cheaper on amazon or on ebay . evidently if youre not a wealthy white person youre treated to an obnoxious staff member stalking and harrassing you as you shop while he mutters rude remarks under his breath.

2021-08-30My husband and I like to go in when we’re in NYC. We’ve been there several times, buying stemless champagne flutes, beautiful Nima Oberoi items, and assorted other things for our home. We’ve found staff to be helpful, especially offering to ship our purchases and help procure items we’ve wanted. I haven’t experienced being watched or followed around, or rudeness. We’ve always had a nice experience with every visit.

2021-09-15Store has a variety of things. But way overpriced. Most of the items can be found cheaper on Amazon. Sorry Blue Tree not feeling it. Dont care who owns it... Should be called Grey Tree.

2017-07-27I was brought here not knowing who owned the store. My client and I were talking and he wanted to get me a thank you gift. I love unique - artistic - I noticed some earrings that I was tricked into saying I loved (I did) and they were purchased for me. I did not know the price until later ( I dont look at price tags or Im shopping for the wrong stuff). Each time I wear the earrings people compliment me and they better not dare touch them because they are sacred entities. Nonetheless, the store was fun and my earrings are art pieces!

2020-12-26They follow you around the store like you’re a criminal. It’s rude and uncomfortable. If they are that concerned about shoplifting they should install cameras. The staff is also pretty uppity and arrogant with no reason for being so. They have some fun and different stuff but it’s all grossly overpriced.

2017-08-27Amazing store. Every time that I go to blue tree I feel like Alice in wonderland. The manager and the staff are the nicest people. Every time I go it is a pleasure to spend time and money there. I love the jewelry and the great selections of candles, I got for myself some stylish champagne glasses🥂

2019-06-02Phoebe Cates is racist, and rude. Followed my friend and me with her glaring eyes acting like we were going to steal something in her store just because were hispanic. Had one of her employees stand behind us and watch us like a hawk. Extremely unwelcoming. I dont recommend this store to anyone.

2016-08-21I went there with my mother and a family friend. Owner Phoebe Cates sat in the back room with a female employee and laughed at us as we looked around. Completely rude. Dont ever go to this store. Ever.
