Wow. Off season perfect time to visit, and enjoy the excellent hospitality of the food of this fine of establishment. Ive never been before, prices were reasonable. And actually an excellent value for the quality product they produce. Bartenders work with us for several specially tea drinks. Much appreciated. highly recommend!!
Read reviews before going on labor day weekend Saturday night so gave it a shot. Got there and they said it was a 90 min. wait. No problem and we went to the bar. From the hostess, bar tender and food I was very disappointed. Also no communication on how they will find you when our table is ready. We ended up eating at the bar. I was craving fish and chips so ordered that. I could have gone to the grocery store and purchased Gordons frozen fish and had a better dinner. Everything came to me very over cooked (almost burnt) so I asked for it to be redone. It was overcooked again and you could ring out the oil in the onion rings. The fish was triangular and flat as a pancake. I didnt eat any of it. Getting ready to leave, I asked for bill and the bar tender said in a rude manner the computers were down and she is trying her best to get it to me. What are you talking about? I just asked for my bill? You never told me the computers were down and if you did I would have patiently waited for my bill. I was in NO hurry! RUDE RUDE RUDE. When I went to the hostess outside to explain how disappointed I was she was like a dear in headlights. Then the bartender came out to see what I was saying to the hostess and then he rudely said if the food was so bad why are you taking it home?. I said honestly I really dont know why and handed it to him. I always take my leftovers home for my dog but forgot I wasnt home and it was just second nature to take food back home. I would never recommend this place or go there again.
Great place right on the lake. Amazing views for dinner. Food and drinks were delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant.Food: crab cake sandwich, fried calamari, chicken and shrimp over pastaDrinks: white sangria, coconut mojitoBeautiful grounds as well. Gorgeous flowers all over the place. Would be a great place for a wedding or party.
Most amazing wedding venue! From the moment we checked in on Friday, until we left on Sunday we were treated so well by the entire BWM staff. They were so accommodating to myself and all of my guests. Rachel and her staff put on an amazing event and I would highly suggest any potential bride and groom to have their special day here. Food, views, rooms, and planning process were all amazing!!
Although check- in is 3:00, our room wasn’t ready until 5:00. My husband recently had spinal surgery and needed to lie down. 2 hours after check-in. The reason was short of help, I understand… but the room charge didn’t change. The next morning our bathroom sink broke, staff recommended we use the banquet facility. Maintenance did arrive within the hour, but the manager never called me, as requested . I expected some compensation; a drink voucher, late check-out, something!!!I wasn’t happyThe Tavern had the same challenges with staffing, but everyone was upbeat friendly and efficient.I lived in Bolton Landing, spent summers for 50 years, I liked BWM years ago, when it was really family orientedWon’t go back to stay, but I’ll go to The Tavern anytime
If you go, get the duck wings appetizer. They are THE BEST! If I go again, those would be my meal. You get 12. Food is all around very good. Prices are reasonable for a resort restaurant. Reservations need to be made a few weeks in advance during peak season, so keep that in mind when making plans.
Grounds was beautiful and conveinient but for the price of the rooms and required two nights it was no worth it. Rooms were tiny with even smaller shower that the water never got warm for. The walls were paper thin allowing you to hear any conversations taking place near by from inside other rooms and outside and anytime a door was shut the whole room shook. The place wasnt horrible but for the price just wasnt worth it.
BEWARE. This is my first review ever. I find it necessary because my normally quiet girlfriend is visibly upset over the extremely RUDE service. We went for lunch this Sunday. We were greeted in the parking lot and instructed to park quite a distance from the resteraunt to start. We asked the hostess for seats on the rear deck by the water. She told us if would be a 30 minute wait and we could sit at the bar. We sat at the bar and ordered our drinks. The bartenders Nick and Melissa were fantastic. Everything went downhill from there. We noticed a few table openings on the deck and asked to move to one of them. The bartenders let us move to one of the tables. After relocating to the table with our drinks and appetizers , we were then told RUDELY we had to move back to the bar by the hostess, ALISHA. She didnt offer assistance to move our food and drinks back to the bar. My girlfriend went to the hostess station and politely asked why we could not sit at one of the several open tables. ALISHA, rudely said this isnt how we operate because it messes up the servers. Note that we originally asked for a table on the deck and waited the 30 minutes at the bar. When asked how they would make this right to us, as the customer, ALISHA responded you can just leave then !. My girlfriend was shocked at this point. We decided to pack up our appetizer and leave. We will never go back to Blue Water Manor. We recommend driving past this place and going to Algonquins right dow the road. The service is friendly and very accommodating! We wish Alisha good luck in learning better manners. They will be needed to survive in the service industry !
Took my family here for a week away from home, as well as a week to enjoy my week off from work. Stayed in the long island rooms and it was amazing! Super clean and updated, well stacked with coffee, clean towels, air conditioning, and a great view of the lake and mountains. The tavern on the lake which is also a must go to, food and drinks were great , staff was super professional. If you’re considering visiting BWM you should think no more and give it a go. Lot of options for different budgets.
Totally disappointed in restaurant at BWM, Tavern On The Water. 1) Food was extremely slow to come out. Salads took over 30 minutes. 2) Told server about food allergy w/strawberries and the food was served with them. 3) Main course came out barely warm and the food was bland/lacked flavor. 4) The bar in the next room was so loud you could hear people shouting “F” bombs and yells for security to remove drunk people on more than one occasion and it was only 6 pm. The beautiful view it has is totally diminished by its service.
Had lunch here the other day and it was delicious!!! Our waitress was so friendly and the host staff was friendly as well.We felt safe and that they are doing everything in this crazy time to make guests feel safe while having great service. The view is amazing and the buffalo chicken wrap was yummy! And those fries !! Crispy and on point !! Great beer selection too.I can’t wait to go back and enjoy the view and food!!
If I could leave a 10 Star review I would! This restaurant is easily twice as good as any other restaurant in the Lake George region! I’ve easily eaten here 15 times or more & I’ve never had a bad experience or anything less than food or service fit for royalty!! I’ve been coming to LG for 30 years & the whole experience changed once our family found this restaurant 5 years ago. Also the view is the best you can find from any lake side restaurant! Drive here or pull the boat up to the dock, just don’t come to Lake George without trying Tavern on the Lake at Blue Water Manor! You won’t regret it!!!
We went for dinner Oct 23rd. Ordered calamari and it was right out of the bag, drizzled with canned pizza sauce, parm cheese and hot peppers. Still, it had no taste. We ordered one dinner, for the 2 of us as the calamari didnt sit well. Shrimp and chicken over angel hair. Again, tasteless. No salt or pepper on any table and several tables requested it. I tried parm, no luck. No bread, they ran out. They open The Barrel when they close BWM, so why run out of food??? They were out of quite a bit and need a new chef.
Breathtaking location. Great restaurant on-site (Tavern on the Lake); gorgeous new outdoor pool, landscaping and gardens. Be aware that BWM is not completely handicapped-accessible - if you want to get down to the lake, you need to navigate a long staircase of somewhat uneven stone. Once you get down there, the swimming area isnt great; its simply a small roped-off section between two docks, and the portable steps leading into the water hurt your feet and were slippery with algae (but the water is clean, clear and cold). The Tiki Bar area by the docks was dirty; they need more lounge chairs; and there definitely needs to be accessible restrooms for those who, like us, are sadly stuck in the overflow location BWM North Lodge a mile up the road and cant easily run back to the room to use the bathroom. (We could still use the BWM amenities.) Note to BWM: get that lodge building revamped asap, too!
Really enjoyed our stay here! The only drawback was the rooms could have been cleaner. The rooms were all updated and in good condition, just not dusted/vacuumed as well as they should have been. There was thick dust on the ceiling fan blades to the point where we didn’t want to turn the fan on! Due to COVID, housekeeping was unavailable during your stay. They brought towels etc whenever you call and were prompt! The grounds are gorgeous! We stayed in the Long Island building, which was close to the lake and restaurant. We ate at the restaurant twice, which was good! It was nice having an AC unit in the room. Shower was small, but got the job done! They are putting in a pool for next season as well as additional rooms. I would recommend staying here if you’re looking for something quiet with gorgeous grounds and views! A good value as well compared to comparable resorts.
AWESOME FOOD WITH A GREAT VIEW. We werent able to make a reservation but they still were able to get us in 30 minutes, as they promised. We were able to order drinks and wait outside in a comfortable seating area. Our waitress was very nice. We ordered Sweet Potato Fries as a starter and Entrees - Short Rib Mac & Cheese & Pan Salmon. Everything was a delicious.
This place is all about the breathtaking view and fun ambience. When we arrived, it was absolutely packed and we were told that there would be no way to get a table outside on the water before they closed in 90 minutes. I insisted she put my name on the list anyway and we would wait and take our chances. Literally, 10 minutes later we were seated at a beautiful outside table on the rail overlooking spectacular Lake George. They had a good band playing 70s and 80s cover songs, which added to the ambiance. The service was quick and efficient. We had a wonderful waitress who was from Poland. As for the food, the salmon chowder and fish and chips were excellent, but the other two entrees in our group where a bit over-salted but still good... according to my friends.Overall, this was an enjoyable and memorable evening and one of the highlights of our New York trip.
Great views and the food is good too! All around great experience. The service was great m, our waitress was very friendly! We came for breakfast on a Friday and there wasnt a huge wait. Weve had dinner here as well with good results. Recommend a reservation for dinner.
I am surprised at other reviews because I can barely give it 3 stars maybe even 2.5 stars. First off they were not really accommodating with kids, drinks were very watered down and not properly mixed, food was very pricey and small portioned. In order to sit outside you need reservations a week ahead and they will not even try to squeeze you in between others really quick. Kids meals were very small and not worth it. Only giving it 3 stars for the waitress which was very polite and beautiful views that we didn’t see because we were seated inside.
This reviews both the restaurant and hotel. The restaurant at this estate has been a part of our family tradition for the past few years and the experience has always been lovely. Our last visit was unfortunately not between the messed up orders, very long wait time and low quality food. I do however recognize that due to the coronavirus, things are different and our usual experience is nice. After our family dinner, we had the pleasure of staying in the motel. Our room was very nice and we adored the beautiful gardens near to us. My only complaint is the WiFi which was very slow or simply not working. Beside this small issue, our stay was lovely and we recommend staying there especially in following years when construction on the pool is finished.
Is there any doubt about this place? Twice weve been here and twice never disappointed. The setting is a million dollar view. The breakfast we had was very good. I love a good omelet and certainly was not let down.My only complaint is that the waitress didnt come around for coffee warm-ups as much as I wanted. Overall this is a must visit destination for breakfast or whenever.
We were bummed when we were told they had no reservations for dinner for several days while on vacation. We heard so many great things about this place that we had to try it. We ended up going for lunch the next day and were not disappointed! Everything was delicious and the staff couldnt have been more satisfied! Would definitely recommend!
We brought our family for dinner last night and the service was 10 star and I think our waitress, a cute little blonde, I think her name was Alyssa went above and beyond and exceeded our expectations!I managed 5 restaurants years ago and run multiple businesses now and your company should be very satisfied the way she treats your customers! And the food was fantastic as it always is!Thanks again for a great experience! We will be back and I highly recommend to everyone!
The view was spectacular, the waiter was very polite and personal, and the food was delicious. Honestly, the food was better than almost anything ive tasted. The inside is also beautiful. It comes with a fire pit. The pricing was fair for the high quality kind of food that they gave plus the food portions that they served. We took a box home. This is a very romantic place for anyone celebrating a special moment. We went for our first wedding anniversary and could not have been happier!
The staff was very friendly and the food was good. It took about 10 mins to get a dock spot, but the dock hands were very attentive and their estimate was spot on. We were the last table seated for lunch and the food and cocktails were good. The pricing was reasonable for lakeside dining and the service was good.
Everything on the menu is delicious. While enjoying your meal, you look out at captivating view. Growing up on the ocean, I thought no view could beat the sunset by the beach. Well, the view of the Adirondack Mountains and the beautiful blue color of Lake George rival that. Excellent service, and definitely indulge in the tasty desserts. I look forward to my next visit. Love this place.😊🏞🍀
Rustic but updated on the lake restaurant and bar with outside seating. Breathtaking views of Lake George. Parking is limited but they do have a little shuttle if you find you need to park near the main road. Food is good, moderate to a little pricey but in line for Lake George in the summer. Staff is friendly, service was okay, not great. This place is a lot about the location, and on busy weekends and holidays they could benefit from more help. Thumbs up
Called early to make a reservation for dinner. Told they don’t take reservations! Which would have been fine of course. However upon arriving the hostess without the mostess (quite unpleasant and a bit snarky) said they were full with reservations?!! To which I questioned who answered your phone an hour ago and said you do not take reservations? She couldn’t say, although as we stood there she answered the phone. She had an employee seat us inside in the back room. Waitress was busy and new and refreshing, very sweet! Food came out quickly. Could do without flys swarming around... I do understand that is probably an air circulation situation which I appreciate. Just a few insect candles may be helpful.
Unpleasant, unaccommodating and disappointing service. Being in the Hospitality Industry for over 8 years it is very difficult for me to write such a poor review however for the first time I actually got up and left this establishment. We were visiting this location for a possible Wedding Venue and stopped at the restaurant for lunch. We were seated inside and politely ask if we could move to a table on the patio as there were only 2 tables eating at the time. This should have been a red flag as the place was empty during peak lunch hours. The hostess who obviously had no customer service training had to go ask the Manager if we could sit outside as we were willing to split up our party to accommodate the two top tables. The manager informed us that we were unable to move and she was extremely rude and uninviting. I must remind readers that this was not an unreasonable request as the place was empty. I found it necessary to warn all potential bride and grooms of this as the service is as poor as I have ever experienced. We ended up a few miles down the road at the Sagamore Hotel for lunch and our second wedding tour of the day and what an amazing and friendly place.
Parking for the restaurant is scarce and annoying. I did not ever stay here as an overnight guest. The dining area is beautiful. Great view especially if you sit outdoors. Indoors has a medieval feel to it with the a time walls and large doors. Breakfast as well as dinner is delicious here. We have been going here every summer for a few years now to both meals.
BWM Staff=Very nice, Food=Good, Atmosphere/Views=Beautiful, My only very negative had to do with the room and mistakes along the way. We were there for a small family wedding. We booked the room over a month in advance. We were supposed to have a King Island room. When we got there we ended up with a queen. We were told that our reservation was mixed up with another wedding that had cancelled. We thought, OK, maybe an honest mistake. Later found out that another coupe invited to the same wedding had their room mixed up as well. They too were supposed to have a king room (which they booked in person on another trip in that area) and ended up with a 2 full bed room. They told us they were completely booked, would the queen room be OK? Did we have a choice , considering we were there for a wedding and it was Labor Day weekend? So, dealt with the queen room which they then tried to charge us an additional $50.00 over the original reservation amount. When we got to the room we had to body slam the door just to be able to open it and then karate kick it to close. This was the process each and every time we went in and out. We were told it was because of the weather changes. The shower curtain was about 6 inches too short so when you took a shower the entire bathroom flooded. When I sopped it up with towels the filth that came off the floor was disgusting. If you are going to run weddings at such a beautiful scenery resort you should take the time to be more careful with cleanliness and reservations.
Amazing views over looking lake george as well sat out on the outdoor balcony, but there was a bunch of drunk ladies that were performing twerk shows and other dance moves on the docks below us. The food was OK, my daughter didnt like her mushroom whatever wrap at all. I had the salmon over mashed potatoes which was OK, but they drowned everything in a sauce that overwhelmed the plate and makes it look like a huge mess. The prices are a tad high, but we already figured they were going to be as the restaurant is part of the Lake George o come visit me and spend extra tourist trap high dollar style. We didnt mind to much tho because as I said we already expected it because of living in the area. This place is also called Tavern on the lake.
There is a new owner who cares much more about quality and it shows. The tavern was very nice, they had a live band, and there was an open environment layout overlooking the bay.The food was also good although the hamburger I ordered was overcooked and the homemade chips I ordered were overly crunchy as well. The staff were also scarce as we were only asked how our food was after we had finished. That being said I would still return as the atmosphere and food were still quite good and I believe the restaurant still has more to offer, maybe just on a slower night.
$28 salmon dinner was horrible. Vegetable different from what was told to me and a vegetable I do not like (given to husband), garlic mashed potatoes were potatoes spooned out of a baked potato with skin still on, and salmon was 3 x 1 hidden in the potatoes and covered with some kind of onion mixture. Waitress was kurt and seemed to care less of my dissatisfaction. To top it off, I was in the bathroom once I got home. If they were too busy, they should strike out the dinners they cant serve like it should be served. We also went there on a Sunday morning for breakfast. Only a $17 breakfast buffet being served and we were unable to order off the menu. We went to Alpine Village, had a great breakfast with a great view.Doubt we will be back!
Ordered a 14oz NY strip steak medium. Vegetable and starch of the day were mixed long beans and mashed potatoes. The steak was seasoned very well, fired correctly and had a good char on the edges. Mixed long beans were snappy but cooked with a light butter. Mashed potatoes were seasoned and of fluffy but not whipped consistency. Everyone in the party I was with was happy with their meals. Daily drink and menu specials, live music, and lakeside open and enclosed seating add to a great experience. Appetizers from $8-$20, lite fare for $11-18, and salads and meals for $11-$45. Deserts include cheesecakes, cookie and brownie sundaes, and some home made pies.
Beautiful property! Didnt stay but visited the restaurant. Great dock and views. Breakfast buffet was good. A little pricey, but the selection was decent and the quality of the food was good. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Will definitely return and maybe even stay there.
Everything about this restaurant was great. Even though theres still some construction and renovations on the property, their waterfront restaurant is worth a visit for a moderately priced meal with a varied menu. Dinner and appetizers were delicious, cooked as ordered and served hot and without waiting too long. Our cocktails were superb, one of the best red sangrias that I ever had, and my friends mojito was just right with fresh mint. The staff was very friendly, accommodating and efficient. There was a guitarist named Michael who played lots of folk songs from the 60s and 70s and simply made our evening more enjoyable. The property has beautifully manicured garden area with various lovely flowers, plants and shrubs and a sitting area outside which you can enjoy while waiting for a table or strolling after dinner or lunch. The three of us will definitely return again and highly recommend this restaurant to everyone. This restaurant is very popular for dinner, so make reservations early, especially on weekends.
Atmosphere was excellent. Food was good. Service was very nice. The main drawback is that they took over an hour to bring out our order, with no updates (and the place wasnt very busy, but not completely dead) and that caused us to miss our fireworks viewing. Also, they served us a blueberry mojito that was completely devoid of blueberries. I asked the waiter and he said they were running out of blueberries, but he didnt mention it till I asked him. Main takeaway is that the place was in a beautiful location, service was nice but very slow, and they could be a bit more communicative. I feel like they milked our party for drinks while we waited to bump up the tab, because when I asked about our food they brought it right out. I would go back to this place, but I would be cautious.
Had a guest in from out of state and wanted to show her some of the places on Route 9 on either side of the area I live in we had stumbled Upon This Place simply attempting to make a u-turn and saw a moderate-sized crowd coming in and going out so we decided to investigate further and though the place is under major Renovations it absolutely has so much to offer there was even a wedding going on in parts of the construction you can see that they are making a beautiful setting for events and we went ahead and went on down to the restaurant which has two levels that walk out overlooking the lake. We decided to go with the upstairs area adjacent to the bar has outside seating she had T I had a beer local draft IPA and we each had a bowl of french onion soup which is the best Ive had in years I will definitely go to this place again and again
Great service and awesome dinner entrees. I ordered the swordfish and it was excellent. My buddies all ordered steak and were very happy with their meals. Tammy was a very positive, personable, high spirited waitress; which made our dining experience that much better.
We went for lunch by boat last week and the owner is a belligerent drunk, he looks like an old bum! He accused us of taking dock space for 4 hours! We had our lunch and were gone in less than an hour and a half! Never going back and we are locals! Spent $150 dollars for 4 people and then chastised for docking? Even the dock hands were embarrassed and they knew we had only been there as long as it took for our lunch! Awful....
This is a review of the Blue Manor Tavern Restaurant. We sat at a table on the back porch overlooking Lake George & it was beautiful. The service & food were poor. My husband ordered the pork tenderloin which arrived cold & undercooked. I ordered the lamb which was cold & over cooked. Our server, Callie, disappeared & we tried to make the best of it, but it was getting dark. A number of diners were using their flashlight apps to see their food as the outdoor lighting was very poor. Maybe they didn’t turn on the lights because they didn’t want to attract any more mosquitoes. We got quite a few bites. When Callie finally came back to inquire about our food, it was too late. Don’t waste your $ here.
Its a beautiful place. It was a great family place to stay but I feel like they are more interested in the boat traffic that comes for lunch and dinner than families who want to use the lakeside.Sadly, Probably going to look elsewhere next season after 25 years of staying here.
We came to the BWM by boat for lunch. The dock boys were fantastic. After climbing the monster stairs, we were able to get a table inside. After several minutes our waitress finally came over. I could barely hear her because there was an obnoxiously loud woman in the same small room who obviously thought she was so important that everyone in the restaurant wanted to hear her. There is nothing in the smaller side room to absorb sound...no curtains, etc so it is like a constant din. We ordered including an appetizer to share. The husband did a burger, I did a wrap and the child did a hot dog. Everything was OK. My wrap was dry. There was no mayo or anything on it (I didnt request this. I love mayo or anything similar). Thank goodness I had dressing left from my side salad. I couldnt ask the waitress because she didnt deliver our food nor did she come to check on us. Our meals all came out, and were dropped at the table by servers not our waitress. I said I guess were it getting our appetizer? No one replied. Finally, when we were almost done, the waitress appears and says Did you ever get your flat bread? Do you want it? No dear waitress, we dont want it now. Never got offered refills on water/tea. Heading back down to the boat, there was a wedding blocking the stairs. I stood to there not wanting to disturb the procession. Finally a staff member whispered are you trying to get to your boat? Your server should have told you that you needed to take the back stairs. No, no she didnt. My husband always says Im too fussy about restaurants. But it was this time that he said that are experienced really soured him on the manor. But kudos to those deckhands. They were fabulous.
OK but dining room down under is way too confining. Feels like a cellar. Sandwiches were great. Tiki Bartender was excellent but we saw him treated disrespectfully by a superior. Young Bartender handled it well but that other dude should never be allowed to treat any staff that way. He needs to be put IN that bin of ice he carried down from main kitchen.
Two of my friends and I had lunch there this past Friday, 7/17. We ordered lunch and our waitress asked if we would like homemade chips, ff, sweet potato fries or toss salad with our sandwiches. Never did she let us know there was an upcharge! She made it sound like they were our choices that came with the sandwiches we ordered. When we received our check, we noticed all items were $2 more! We asked to look at the menu and then asked for the manager to figure out why the difference between the menu and our check as out waitress was busy. I must say he was quite rude about us not reading the menu to know they were not included!!! Two of us (who are locals) have been in the restaurant/bar business for at least 40 years and one still is. NEVER have we been spoken to like that.....he told us too bad....you should have read the menu, turned around and walked away from our table, no apology, nothing!!!! And to think he is a manager??? The food itself was very good, the service was good except for the fact she did not explain that it was a side order. Were not sure we will go back, which is too bad because it is a beautiful place! My suggestion to all is to READ THEIR MENU!!!
We stayed here for four days in May. They are renovating and our room was brand spanking new and gorgeous. Bed was so comfy, room was decorated like a cabin and very cozy. Loved the in room Keurig! Also had a fridge. Grounds are quiet and you can see the lake. Tavern on site has on lake views and great food. Loved it, will definitely be back!
I have been to this place before and the lunch was excellent. However, tonight was out first time for dinner. The service was good, but I ordered a Grilled Filet. I requested they cook it medium. The steak came out and it was literally raw. Cooked below even rare.I requested they cook the second one medium well to be safe. The next steak came out and it was cooked rare. Seriously? Two steaks that you cant get beyond cooked? They offered me some free beers, but really they ruined my night. I write this from my hotel bar waiting for a burger. After the second steak my wife was already done eating. We paid for my wifes turkey burger and drinks. Even that in my opinion should have been free. This is probably a good place, but tonight was a disaster.
The food here is very good, BUT the service is amazing, I was here with my daughter, they were super busy , and had live music. The music was very loud where we were sitting, so I decided to take the food to go because it was uncomfortable for my daughter. The 2 girls Gabby , and Kiersta (sorry if I messed up her name) went completely out out their way to make a table on the outside deck, which had an amazing view. They served us in a spot completely away from everyone else, my daughter asked if we could come back before we left!Gabby also went out of her way to take a picture of us. They have a guy that will drive you from where you park, and afterwards back to your car, and then show you how to drive out! And if i didn’t mention the food, the brownie dessert with the bunny something ice cream was incredible too.
My husband and I had a great weekend away here. We chose a Long Island room, renovated only 3 years ago. Its a minimal room with all the essentials, except a telephone and a bible =P On the property they have a restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Although they close fairly early, 10pm. There is no pool, a swimming area is labeled on the map but its technically between two boat slips. So not appealing to swim in. They do offer a few chairs on the dock. It may be difficult for less able bodied folk to get around certain areas. The entrance to our room was either accessible by climbing up steep and breaking cement stairs or a rocky walkway around the back of the rooms. The water access is down more steep stairways. Check in is until 10pm but they do offer arrangements if you discuss it with them prior to your arrival. Checkout is a breeze. Sarah the manager is super friendly. We cant make this out new summer spot.
Good food, great view and pleasant wait staff. Not too pricy. Drinks were nice.Boat dock has staff to help dock, tie off & disembark. They have to jockey some boats around as the place gets busy; fun to watch. If one does dock, there are around 70 steps to climb to get to restaurant. Half way up is a tiki bar with some food there if you give out...
The rooms were newly created and looked really nice from inside but when I booked I had asked for a lake view room and I was told that this room has Lake views but what they didnt tell me was the lake view is from a porch that 5 other rooms share. From inside the room you cannot see anything... If I put that aside then lovely location, clean room and friendly staff..
We went to blue water manor for a breakfast buffet. The breakfast was really good. We had some questions about some of the food on the buffet, but the hostess was not very helpful at all. She did not answer our questions or go find the answers for us. Our server was really great though! He was very willing to go above and beyond.
The atmosphere and service at Blue Water Manor is excellent! It has the feel of a lakehouse retreat with stone walls and exposed wooden beams. Built into the rocky shores of Lake George, this multi-tiered bar and restaurant provides live music and excellent views from each of its dining rooms and outdoor deck. Given the different levels and slightly cramped dining arrangements, the service was still timely and the food was delicious and plated-well. It is set off the road and parking is tight, but the food and views are worth it!
The rooms were not clean. There were cob webs in corners and the bathroom floors turned my white sox black. The Wi-Fi didnt work. The window dressings did not keep out light. So, if you dont like to wake up with the sun, youre going to have a problem. The prices did not match the value. The view far from my room was nice.
I went up for Labor Day weekend last year and could not have been happier. Its as far as I know one of the very few nearly all inclusive hotels on Lake George. With pre paying for the room we received a meal plan for the days we were checked in there with our own table and server which included breakfast and dinner of witch we didnt have a bad meal once. The servers although eager sometimes are a bit in over their heads as far as the english language is concerned. Desk and maintenance staff are excellent and helpful. Our room was a 2 room suite basically a shared bathroom splitting 2 bedrooms. The rooms were clean, orderly and everything worked fine. Its not the 4 seasons or the Waldorf-Astoria so adjust your expectations. The INDOOR pool (one of a few there in Lake George) is fantastic for those rainy days which NEVER happen in upstate NY, the beach although small was great for kids and adults and their water activities are fantastic. After dinner or going into the village (Near both LG and Bolton Landing) this place has a bar with a deck over looking the lake.... Well worth the trip up there.
Our friends recommended this Tavern. Our Waite staff was slow, inattentive, and even forgot to bring sweetener for Iced Tea. We had to get it ourselves from the bar. We ordered Med Rare burgers.....they came well done. We sent them back and they were between Medium and Medium Well. Unacceptable!
A completely new restaurant with so many upgrades and changes. The addition of a new chef and menu now completely compliments the million dollar view from your seat at the bar or table on one of two lakeside terraces. Looking to come by boat? The new owners have added all new docks that are also lit at night for extra safety and convenience. A must see for anybody visiting Lake George for your favorite cocktail or a bite to eat. If you are looking to stay the night, the weekend, or the week, they have completely renovated almost all of the Adirondack style cabins that adorn the property and it appears that there is plans for even more renovations and upgrades for next year as well.Recommend that you visit this Adirondack Gem the next time you are in the Lake George Region.
Service was excellent. Our entrees were not. The veggie burger was incredibly bland, probably one of the worst Ive ever eaten. It desperately needed some seasonings. My boyfriend ordered a cajun chicken alfredo without the chicken, since there is not a good vegetarian menu here. We were pretty offended to receive a half bowl of pasta sitting in a watery, way too salty sauce. For $22, we expected much more. He wasnt even given an extra serving of pasta to replace the chicken, which we were still charged for.The drinks are not good, either. I had a bloody mary with their special house blend of tomato juice. It was sooooo gross. It tasted like cocktail sauce, horseradish, and sugar mixed together. After sending it back, I ordered the mango mojito. Again, not a very well made drink. I could not taste the mango or the rum, all I could really taste was mint that didnt seem too fresh.
Great place to stay with great prices, very relaxing, with multiple spots to just sit down and enjoy the great scenary, great location for photos and to fly a drone if your into that kinda stuff, tavern has a good variation of foods and drinks, staff is very helpful and friendly, can even enjoy a campfire a few ft away from your cabin in the evenings.
I bought what I thought was a great deal from Living Social for weekend of 08/16/13. As soon as we walked through the door, I wanted to leave!! I would have taken the loss because the cabin was hideous. We had a hole in our shower & floor, broken lopsided beds, no wifi, and a stench of mold! The group I was with didnt want the hassle of finding another resort/hotel, so we stayed. On a postive note, the staff was very friendly and accommodationg, awesome lake access & beautiful lake views, and good food at the restaurant. If you are the camping type, this room will probably be fine for you. Ive never camped before, and I cant appreciate the broke down decor they are pawing off as rustic. If I were to go camping, it would be in a nice RV, or glam camping. I will go back to Lake George because I had a blast, but I cant return to this resort. :-(
The food and service was good but the restaurant itself ( if you are going there just to eat like I was) is kind of off the better path and parking is difficult. The restaurant did not seem to be very handicap acessable due to the rather hilly terrain. The view from the porch when you are eating however is stunning!
The Blue Lake Manor is worth seeing for the firelpace snd history. We sat out on the upper deck with a beautiful view of Lake George for lunch. We sat out on the lower deck for breakfast with a breathtaking view of the lake. The mts were surrounded in mist! We returned there not just because of the view but because of the delicious food!
We were a party of 3. Seated in the lower dining room and the visit began very nicely. Ordered 2 Sangrias and a Tang & Tonic. The Sangria was wonderful, G&T pretty basic. The waitress was very friendly. For appetizers we ordered 2 orders of steamed calms, an entree size spinach salad, and Baked Brie. Clams and salad fine and pretty timely. Baked Brie never came. Inquired with the waitress which appeared annoyed. This is where it began to go down hill, 15 more mins went by and she finally returned with the Brie. Ordered another round of drinks and waited a long time for those. For meals we ordered the roasted chicken, Steak salad, and Surf & Turf. It took about 1 hour and 15 mins to get our entrees, and when they were first delivered we put in for a 3rd round of drinks. (side note-I have alot of experience in the restaurant business). The Roasted Chicken was the only entree that was prepared correctly. The Steak Salad - the greens were warm and wilted and the steak was med well (ordered med rare) and cold (indicating it sat on the line in the kitchen for too long). The Surf & Turf, steak again med well ordered med rare. We sent them back. 10 mins goes by and the waitress very irritated by now come back WITH THE SAME MEALS!!!!! She told the other person I was with to take another look at the steak as the light in the kitchen shows it med rare !?!?! WHAT ?!? The steak salad she told me its a salad its supposed to be cold. Not believing what I was hearing I stated just take the steak salad off the check, and please take the surf & turf back it was ordered med rare... (still no drinks) She returned with another steak and the same stuffed shrimp with some more sauce thrown over top (completey disgusting by now) she stated she was going to stand there and wait until she cut into the steak. This time it was barely cooked - it was RAW inside. I said take it back and take it off the bill. The waitress then began to argue with me stating she didnt think the manager was going to do that. I requested the manager to the table. (still no drinks). The assistant mgr came, she apologized and stated it was very busy and the kitchen was backed up. The waitress then interupted the asst mgr stating you probably dont want those drinks now huh? Here is the kicker - the asst mgr told us she cringed when she sent the Surf & Turf back out because she knew it was cooked incorrectly !!!!! The 2 entrees were removed from the check and she comped a round of drinks. Oh and it was way over priced for the quality of food. We were disgusted and will never return.

2022-05-15This was my first overnight visit. I had stopped into the tavern on a drive by after an event in Lake George. My stay was for 2 nights in #29 which had the best views of both the lake and the koi pond . It was only the second week after opening for the season, but the grounds were meticulously maintained. The room was cozy. There were a few maintenance items , and the shower was small, but overall very pleased ,and will definitely go back

2022-05-14Fabulous resort right on the Lake George waterfront. Our accommodations were superb. We dined ate the BWM restaurant, a historic building, on 3 occasions and all experiences were outstanding. My niece will soon be getting married in the area, and our entire family is looking forward to returning to this establishment in the fall !

2022-06-24We happened to stumble upon this place after booking an awful air bnb down the road. It literally turned our mini vacation around! Rooms were spotless, food was great and the staff clearly took pride in the resort. We even rented a boat down the street and docked it on the docks at the resort. 5 star loved every bit of this little slice of heaven.

2021-08-22Great place! Excellent food and drinks in a lively and fun atmosphere. We sat at the bar, bartenders were fantastic. My first time visiting Lake George, was invited by my Nephew who lives in the area, and I hope to spending more time here! Entire area is spectacular and being able to visit an amazing place like the Blue Water Manor by boat was fantastic. I highly recommend!

2021-07-22I didnt stay at the hotel. I only ate here and had some drinks. This place had a stunning view, the beauty of lake George can be taken in from the balcony and or bar area. BUT if you are going to eat here, I wouldnt recommend it. The food was less than expected. Its hard to mess up nachos which to me were inedible. We got the calamari that looked gray and fresh out of a freezer chewy. They were out of a lot of different menu items. Just nothing we ate was enjoyable. I did order a bottle of champagne, which is always great, but they charged a significant price increase for a bottle that is usually 60 dollars to 110.00 dollars, thats not right.
