Beautiful comfortable ambience with a diverse choice of dishes with several available as gluten free versions. Service staff (Lori) was very attentive and helped explain a few questions our party of 6 had.The restaurant filled up the interior and exterior tables quickly as dinner time came yet we felt just as comfortable with noise and service as we did when the place was less occupied.Appetizers, drinks, and meals were beautifully presented and delicious.Definitely will return.
Waiter provided two menus when my party was seated, one labeled “bites,” which my party ordered from. When we received the bill the waiter charged us from the main menu. When we told this to the waiter he claimed that we never told him we wanted the so called bites menu to order from. He said the bites menu has smaller portions, but the food we received was already very small portioned.The Nona pizza had burnt cheese.The ribs were fair, but only four medium sized included. The lamb burger was lean but tasted bland. Most of our plates were filled with french fries, so I suppose the bite menu is the same as the regular menu without as many fries. Overall, nothing overly tasty for the high price paid.So, I feel they ripped me off with the menu switcheroo. Overall, overpriced for nothing extraordinary, unless you love tons of french fries all over your plate. I will not be returning.
Everything about this restaurant is delicious, trendy and unique! All our dishes from appetizer to dessert were perfectly prepared. Even the drinks (a hurricane flavored with hibiscus and a sprig of rosemary) were fabulous. Best Cobb salad ever! Delicious pasta with creamy mushroom sauce and carrot cake.OMG! Service was great, friendly young staff. We will be back!
I was there with my family for the soft open. The food was excellent and wait staff was friendly and professional. The decor and vibe were relaxed and classy at the same time. Theres great attention to detail. We had fresh mussels, delicately seasoned sea bass, a porterhouse which was cooked to tender perfection, brussel sprouts with honey, which were scrumptious, charred broccoli, Mac and cheese... and each dish was amazing! Desserts are large and luscious! I LOVED the chocolate Mousse cake with sea salt. Im looking forward to going back often!
I ordered their crispy fried chicken sandwich topped with cole slaw and a hot honey and fries. Delicious! Top-notch food. A diverse staff, which is nice, who smile, greet you, and are friendly and seem truly happy to be there. Decor is adorable - bird and beach theme with light blue painted paneled walls. Ima already planning my next visit.
I enjoyed everything from the appetizer to the delicious dessert. The waitress was attentive and helpful. Our Cobb Salad was unique and very flavorful with avocado and thick cut bacon!! Their eggplant and zucchini chips were tasty and crispy. We ordered the Kale pasta with mushrooms in a light cream sauce, it was AMAZING!! I’d recommend to anyone who wants to try something different and delicious without breaking the bank.
Came here for dinner tonight- NYE. The food was amazing- best burger I have ever had. Do t miss out on the made to order bread- it’s worth the cost. It’s not your average bread basket. Little details were awesome- I even really liked the eco friendly take home boxes. I’m local but even if I weren’t, id make the trip. And if you happen to get seated in Michaels station, you are in good hands. He was prompt and attentive. He kept us informed and up to date on timeframe of being served. No childrens menu but chicken nuggets and maglev and cheese are available as appetizer and more the. Enough to feed an adult so your children will leave with a full belly.Overall, food was served very quick and great quality.
Its OK, but not exceptional, I would like to give it less ham 4 stars, but 3 seems too drastic. The service was great.... Till around check time when it dissappeared. The menu is essentially a diner in that its theme free all over the place (though American Italian seems to dominate) but without the massive selection. The food was certainly a bit better than the average diner, but below my expectations. The chicken parm was decent and generous, the burger was cooked well, my chicken sandwich was crispy, but dry... It spent about 3min too long in the fryer. Popeyes is better, which it shouldnt be. Is Blue Bird better than the Red Robin it replaced? Sure. But while I wouldnt rule out coming back, we arent rushing back either.
Just got in from our dinner. Waitress staff was very good. Food was only ok. My 2nd glass of happy hour wine was 3 dollars more because happy hour was over? They charge extra if you want bread. Listen to me Im a city guy and Im telling u this place will be gone in about a year or so.
Had the meatball, mottz sticks and zucchini/eggplant frites (frites a little heavy on salt) but all great. Ribs were good. The two fishes were great but branzino was also a little salty. Service was great. Everyone was really nice and attentive. There was one young kid bussing who stood out, he was so sweet and ran his butt off. Didnt get his name. Nice atmosphere. Bartender Fred was amazing!!! Best cocktails I had in forever. Will be back for sure.
I was lucky enough to be at the soft opening - the very first night they were serving customers, and everything was perfect! The servers were friendly and knowledgeable about the food ... and the food! Heavenly. I will order their eggplant and zucchini chips every time I go, and you should too! The black sea bass, gnocchi with short ribs ragu, Brussels sprouts and chocolate mousse cake were standouts in a night of standouts. If this is how good it is on their very first night, I cant imagine how exceptional it will be as time goes on. Definitely a winner, and I will definitely be back often!
I ordered chicken Milanese which was described on the menu as having a lemon vinaigrette sauce. Instead it was a large flat fried chicken cutlet, covered in salad, with a piece of lemon on the side. I’ve had chicken Milanese at other restaurants. This was not what I was expecting.
Had the pleasure of eating at Bluebird Kitchen in Bellmore last night. What a tweet, I mean treat! Kiera, at the bar, introduced us to some delicious craft cocktails. In fact, I had my very first gin drink! The Dr. Feelgood, was a well balanced freshly prepared and delicious way to start. The rest of my family enjoyed their rum , wine and martini cocktails. For those of you who are martini drinkers- it was stirred not shaken-a big deal for my husband! Fred, the manager and mixologist was nice enough to explain the involved cocktail process which certainly can be appreciated with the first sip. We continued with the zucchini frites and a perfectly prepared Nona pie. Later at the table, we thoroughly enjoyed the lamb burger, chicken sandwich, chicken parm with homemade pasta, and the surprise of the night, kale pappardelle. Juan, our waiter, was friendly and answered all of our questions and was right about it all! Everything was delicious. There is more that I look forward to trying. The only suggestion my husband made was for the perfectly stirred martini to have stuffed or large olives. And, Fred welcomed the suggestion. Do yourself a favor and give it a try! Delicious!
Everything was delicious. Our waitress was lovely. The only problem and I know they were busy on the night we were there, they forgot my sons soda and we had to flag down the waitress which took some time. The manager came over and asked how everything was which was nice
What an amazing spot! We love their sister restaurant Barano in BK so we were super excited to see them drop ANOTHER ONE!!!!! Amazing food, Kid friendly, Speedy and attentive friendly service. The price was super affordable and fairly structured for the area. We all had a blast and can’t wait to go back!!!
I heard the buzz about this place so I decided to try it out with some friends of mine. Our waitress gets a 10 out of 10. She was patient, intelligent, and well spoken.Most of the food that we had gotten was burnt. The chicken parmigiana was satisfactory in taste.I’m not impressed by this restaurant.
Ive had much better……..:.I ordered 2 burgers and a fried chicken sandwich from this restaurant expecting it to taste as fabulous as the restaurant looks. I was disgusted by the amount of charr and salt on my burgers. Not to mention my fries were way over done. I will not be eating here again, and I was really looking forward to bringing my family to this new restaurant. I wanted to reach out to the restaurant to give them my honest feed back and their phone number doesn’t even work.
Opening night at Bluebird Kitchen… the space is beautiful, staff very friendly, and the food was delicious - we had the mozzarella sticks appetizer, two pasta entrees, and the ribs. If I were to have any gripes… as my daughter put it, the menu could have been slightly more “kid-friendly.” Aside from that minor challenge, I highly recommend Bluebird Kitchen.
It was very good food unfortunately the sea bass I ordered was the size of a goldfish and looked nothing like what was on there Facebook page. The tables were so close together no one could squeeze through and all we heard were others conversations. Its also very expensive for for what they serve. I think the owners still think theyre still in trendy Brooklyn where the cool factor is more important than the quality and value. They are also extremely understaffed and the service was very slow although not the fault of the staff
The worst hamburger I have ever had with a $20.00 price tag. Meat and bun both were way over cooked with burning smell. Meat had no taste at all.I know they just opened at this location and very hard to find qualified cook and waiters these days. I just wanted to get the management’s attention for their services to stay opened long time. I care local businesses therefore they deserve one more try!
I guess its going to be same destiny with red robin even very short. We had grill octopus ,mozzarella stick , beef burger , lamp burger and branzino. I tested all of them. Octopus was not testy. Forget about Beef Burger. It was over cooked and test was horrible.. Lamb Burger much better than Beef Burger but taste to be honest five guys at least five times better and of course you cant compare with red robins burger. I sent back Branzino to the kitchen because no taste and it was not a half size like a quarter size fish may be smaller then quarter. They void it. One mozzarella stick was empty.. Really..! No cheese nothing inside..! I didnt want to say anything about it. Forget about useless experiences. They also made me waited 1,5 hours for this useless experience..By the way I am sure the owner spent a lot of money for this restaurant and this is another sad story anyway.. Enjoy :)))))))))

2022-06-07Heard some great things about this place and I was finally able to give it a try and it was absolutely amazing! Everything was fresh hot and tasty love the dishes from the gnocchi short rib to the macaroni Ala vodka and the appetizers were outstanding as well as the drinks they were perfectly made! The service was great too definitely will be back definitely a must try spot!

We ordered a bunch of things, everything was very good but the smac n cheese had to be one of my favorites. The food came out so quickly as well. I look forward to coming back here!

2022-01-03Great food, great atmosphere, and great wait staff! I came here for my birthday dinner yesterday, and everything was delicious! I had the Brick Chicken and the chicken was cooked fabulously, and the loaded cauliflower TO DIE FOR!! My mom had the ribs, and those were off the bone easy, tasty, tasted like they had dry rub and had sauce on them! The bone fell of the bones with ease and there was plenty of meat on them! My dad had the Hanger steak and has said that it was like going to a 5 star restaurant in NYC!I can’t wait to come back here very soon! The prices were fair for the portions and how well it is cooked, however, it can be pricey for the average crowd! Each sides are a separate charge. For example, I ordered the Brick Chicken that was just that, but had to order the Loaded Cauliflower separate. Another example is my dad’s steak did not come with fries, so you had to order that separately l, but my moms ribs had everything you possibly needed! She had her dish come with fries and broccoli!Overall, GREAT experience! I will be back soon!!

2022-07-28Blue Bird is an excellent experimental restaurant. Menu changes often, offering amazing choices to all and fun spins on normal foods. Portion sizes is blue birds strength, dishes have amazing portions that nail taste and flavor just as well. I can’t recommend the Bronzino, chicken Milanese, and Nona pie enough. Ambiance is very chill and friendly staff. Overall great experience every time, would recommend to anybody.

2022-01-07Was very excited when I saw a new restaurant was finally coming to this space! It has been vacant for years since Red Robin left (which wasn’t good). I tried it tonight and I’m in love!!!First off, the owner did an amazing job with decor. Beautiful and well designed (even the bathrooms are very nice!). Showed up around 6 on a Thursday night and was greeted by two very nice girls. We didn’t have a reservation but we’re quickly sat at a high top (which has hooks on it to keep your bag and leftovers!)We decided to just try out various appetizers instead of getting entrees because it was just two of us. We got the mini fried chicken, Zucchini + Eggplant chips with avocado hummus, Smac-n-cheese, fries and Tuna Tartar. Everything was amazing! The fried chicken was the tenderest and juiciest chicken I’ve ever had! The Mac n cheese was super yummy and the tuna tartar was fresh and packed with flavor. The avocado hummus was something different but very good! Even the fries were perfectly crispy and seasoned.We got the Chocolate Mousse Cake for dessert which comes with a Graham cracker crust and Nutella drizzle. AMAZING!Looking around the entrees looked amazing and I can’t wait to come back and try them! The wait staff was incredible and very friendly!This is a really great addition to the area! Can’t wait to come back!

2022-01-21The ambiance and service was absolutely fantastic. They can get a 10/10 for that. I went here with a friend and we ordered the tuna tartare which was very good. My friend ordered the lamb burger which was very salty and the fries it was paired with also had sugar on them which i found to be weird. I also ordered the mac and cheese which was probably the best thing on the menu. The drinks though, we’re absolutely amazing. We ordered the livin on a prayer and dr.feel good.The reason this place isn’t getting more than 3 starts is because I was really excited for this new restaurant as the area needed a place like this, however i found it to be very average and for the type of food offered, it was way overpriced and i am not a cheap person when it comes to food. The menu has city prices in a location that’s across the street from a pet store lol. Great place to go for on a date when your date is fronting the bill!

2021-12-30Great spot! I am a regular at their sister location in South Williamsburg and Bluebird did not disappoint. The staff and interior is inviting and warm(has a Southern Hospitality feel) and their music transports me back to my youth. Plenty of parking to boot.

2022-01-17I was really looking forward to the opening of this new restaurant. It’s beautiful inside and I love the vibe. The staff is friendly and the service is good. The menu is very eclectic but very overpriced. The food was only fair and disappointing. I had the crispy chicken sandwich and did not love it. My mom had the ribs and found them way too fatty and inedible. My husband had the brick chicken and it was delicious and perfect. My daughter had the Maccheroni alla vodka and it was also only fair. The management was very accommodating and replaced my mom’s ribs with another dish which was fine. We were a little surprised that they didn’t offer up coffee or dessert on the house.We didn’t order drinks because we found the prices to be too high, something you might find in a NYC restaurant.Unfortunately we will likely not return and we’re disappointed because we were hoping it would become a neighborhood favorite for us.Edit: reached out directly to the management and found them to be very responsive and open to hearing about the constructive criticism. They have amended their menu and I look forward to dining here again soon. Originally gave 3 stars and have upgraded to 4.
