I went here on a Saturday for the jazz brunch and had a fantastic time. Such a fantastic location with a beautiful view of Columbus Circle. I had the burger and it was phenomenal…. My friend the eggs Benedict and they were in love. Their cocktails are flavorful and beautiful. Would definitely go back and I will.
Happy hour 3pm - 5pm weekday special - is amazing!! Good economical prices with beautiful decor and good service.Ordered some snacks with our drinks and was impressed. Delish!! Really enjoyed the Big Shrimp Cocktail and an order of Fries. Also came here for afternoon tea with a girlfriend and loved the Tea selections and quite a few pastries to choose from.Overall loved this place and will definitely return to this gem.
Food and drinks were amazing, but nothing can beat the view of Columbus Circle from the dining area. We had a shaky start with no server coming to our table for several minutes after sitting down. Fortunately, someone noticed and the hostess came over to greet us and happily took our entire order. Our first course arrived about 5 minutes later and everything was smooth from there. A very impressive recovery from the shaky start. All the food was fantastic with great attention to detail and well thought out components put together perfectly. The Caesar salad was a highlight along with a squash pasta. Cocktail list was very cool and tasty with elevated versions of familiar drinks.
Came for dinner and took almost 10 minutes to locate the place. Really tucked away upstairs. On a Monday night, the restaurant was pretty dead - we were one of 4 tables. Albeit, the view from our table next to the floor to ceiling windows was lovely. Food was ok, overpriced for the basic offerings and portions. The Caesar salad was an interesting take and was probably the highlight of our meal. Our server was very friendly and accommodating but really focused on closing time/pushing us to order.
I didn’t even know if this restaurant deserves a star, because they don’t allow us check in …..mu husband and went for a walk ay the park , yes we live just across the street from it…:then we decided to have brunch somewhere….so we got inside the mall, and discovered this restaurant….it was around 12:30??….. and when we asked for a table the “host” told us that everything is reserved…that they don’t have one table left …..I looked around and the tables there were empty….we started walked away and I returned and ask if they don’t allow people dressed like us …we were dressed in jogging pants and caps, there is when a woman looked at me and tried to apologize, I asked her that I don’t believed there is no one table for us, and asked her if they have a bar , she told that maybe we could sit at the bar but she needs to check it out !!!!! And I said , oh really ?! Is the first time this happened us….the guys was rude he didn’t even looked at us and the women was nonsense….terrible not be experience , I never want be in that place….terrible experience…:::::👎
Came here for afternoon tea with a voucher from Pulsed. But this is absolutely something I would pay for full price. It was delicious and the Tea was expertly made. The servers were so nice and the atmosphere of the restaurant was amazing. They hired a Jazz singer who had a beautiful voice and the band who played with her was so smooth.
Wonderful experience dining here, the food was delicious and service was excellent. Our waiter Patrick was the best! The ambience of this restaurant sets you in gear for a very relaxed experience, especially if you get seated at the window overlooking Columbus circle.
Despite being fairly well educated my tastes, as my wife will attest, are decidedly more toward working class eateries. While this spot would never attract me on its own, my wife had wanted to try it and we both enjoyed a rare workday lunch here during restaurant week---errrr---month (this post-pandemic year, well sorta post-pandemic). Caesar salad, fish and chips and peach crumble. All delicious. And yes, as others noted the pace is relaxed European. The decor is a fairly flamboyant throwback 70s or early 80s.
We ordered eggs royal, all the other pictures of this plate in the past have a lovely hollandaise sauce covering the eggs. What i received was a poached egg with yellow mayo sprayed on the top. It was not hollandaise, it was thick and flavorless, no greens on the plate or anything else. The plates are small here.the drinks were fine and the service was adequate.
Poor ambiance, sub-par chicken and waffles, and terrible service specifically from the host. The guy abrasively asked “Can I help you?” when I arrived as if I didn’t LOOK like I was supposed to be there - however, I had a reservation for 4 for both brunch and afternoon tea.During our afternoon tea service, he later commented that two of the people in my party “didn’t need to eat anymore, since they had already eaten.” This is unacceptable - will not be coming here again or recommending the place to friends.
I arrived for an early dinner on 14 June and was cheerfully seated at a wonderful window seat facing Central Park and Central Park South by the hostess -- with my friend arriving several minutes later. We were paying with a PULSD Voucher; so I handed it to the waitress upfront and asked her to inform me of any limitations or special menu before my friend arrived so that we could have a smooth checkout process. She went to check and, upon returning, she said we could order off the regular menu (which I thought very generous) without restrictions. She proceeded to recommend the most expensive item on the menu -- the double Pork Chops -- which I ordered. My friend had a fish dish. We shared a Buratta for the appetizer and enjoyed the sort-of unconstructed Black Forest cake for dessert. However, when the bill came. There was a $20 surcharge for the Pork Chops. The waitress was embarrassed and said she truly personally enjoyed them (and they were excellent) but didnt know there was a surcharge (despite my asking that question upfront). I was annoyed because this was precisely the kind of confrontation I had sought to eliminate upfront -- and she should have gone to her manager (and taken responsibility for her error before presenting the check) and had the surcharge waived. Instead, we paid it although I was not happy. That all being said; the food, service, and ambiance were all otherwise excellent and I would return.
Came here for breakfast with a view.Reception staffs very attentive. Nice bar, nice contrail.Had the French toast option, although very sweet, I enjoy it. Ask for extra bacon lol. This isn’t a hot option, they have plenty on the menu, including their take on the English breakfast. The restaurant is situated on the 3rd floor of the shopping mall.Ask to be seated by the window, I’m sure the view only gets better with the seasons.
I understand that restaurants may be desperate to get people to return back to their venues due to COVID but that should be all the reason for exemplary service. I reached out to Bluebird for a group reservation for 14 professional women celebrating womens month. Due to the group size the planner mandated that we have the $75 prix fixe menu. 1st Issue: planner did not ask which appetizers, entrees and desserts we wanted to choose. 2nd Issue: if I ordered the appetizer, entree and dessert a la carte, the most expensive items totaled $67. Why is the prix fixe more expensive than ordering the same items a la carte? I informed the planner I want to sub out the meal options she chose for more appealng items on the larger menu. 3rd Issue: Bluebird priced the prix fixe with the new options I chose at $90. Meanwhile the most expensive items still totaled $67 if purchased a la carte! I complained and the planner said the upcharge is to ensure everyones food comes out at the same time. Thats bizarre! Is she implying Bluebird is not used to handling groups? And why is there a $63 administrative charge in the contract?? Essentially Bluebird tried to charge $23 more per prix fixe meal per person plus the $63 admin fee equating to a $385 upcharge. Disappointing and poor service for a restaurant that I perceived as prestigious!
Went here for the Drag Tea/Brunch today. Can’t say enough about the performers as well as the restaurant. Peachez and Jax put their hearts, souls, and bodies into what turned out to be close to 2 1/2 hours of pure fabulousness! They are both so talented and also really kind. They talked to everyone so newbies and veterans to drag shows alike were comfortable and having an absolute blast. We would happily see them again! As for the food, we just had the food that came with the tea, we didn’t order anything else. But those who did seemed to enjoy it. The food we had was very plentiful and all delicious. It was advertised to be mostly pastries which it was. The quality was excellent. We have never been here before but it definitely made us want to come back and try it on a regular day. The drinks looked amazing too. We also would love to come back to the drag brunch again too. I am sure all the performers they get are great. But we would definitely love seeing Peachez and Jax again because it would guaranteed be a phenomenal experience! Special thanks to Anthony S., the manager, for finding a way to squeeze us in, especially in a seating arrangement that worked best for us. Can‘t wait to return!
I was disappointed by this place. The view is pretty good. The service wasnt bad although they didnt come to our table often enough and we had to hold our hands up to get their attention. The food wasnt very good. The omelette was not seasoned well with barely any cheese inside. The fish and chips was ok but it was just one big piece so not every bite had that nice fried batter texture. The Benedict was decent. The tarte tatin needed more baking as the pastry part was very tough and we had trouble cutting through it. I wanted to like this place but unfortunately it didnt impress. One thing they got going was that they had good live saxophone music. But I didnt go here for music, did I.
We came here Monday for afternoon tea.I made a reservation in advance to get the window seats. The restaurant is quit big, and busy for Monday afternoon. They got 3 choose for afternoon tea.1. Pink tea $50/ person2. Pink G tea $60 / person (with gin-based cocktail)3. Pink bubble tea $70/ person (with champagne)We decide to go with Pink G tea, which included traditional high tea with a cocktails. From the bottom, they have 4 different flavor sandwich.-coronation chicken, apricot and raisins-smoked salmon and copper crepe fraiche-truffle egg and spinach-cucumber, cream cheese, dill and chivesFor the sconesOne fruit, and one plainServe with strawberry jam, Hudson valley clotted creamAnd cakes on the top-strawberry Victoria sponge-grapefruit tart- hibiscus rose macaron-raspberry rose jellyWe got extra fries on the side.Everything taste amazing, plus the view.We couldnt finish the top sweet section, we we had that to go.The serves was great, the waiter keep adding hot water to our tea pot. And we were too happy to chill and stay there pretty late, but they didnt ask us to leave.I saw other peoples lunch looks tasty as well, will come back to try it!
The restaurant is well placed with a great layout. The view is spectacular. The staff is very accommodating and quick to respond to any concerns. The food is well flavored. The menu includes an interesting and diverse mixture of fishes, meats, and chickens. Its definitely a place to visit.
It was good. A great view for sure and great vibes as well. However the food is pretty overpriced and not something like mind blowing. The thing about NYC is sincere there are so many good places, it’s hard to just say oh it was good and give five stars haha. Price is pretty much for good vibes and the view. Other than that- if you are solely looking for Good London food, i havent been to UK but I dont think this is what you’d want to have.
Enjoyed the food and drinks. We were served by one of the barmen and so I got to request a white negroni (because it was brunch). It was good!I got the chicken burger with truffle mayo, it was yummy! Tried pineapple carpaccio and Im never gonna eat pineapple in a different way, theres no going back! For dessert, we had banana with caramel and served with Earl grey ice cream, the combo was perfect!
Had afternoon tea at this restaurant overlooking Columbus Circle in the Time Warner building. Despite all the negative reviews i had heard about, i had a wonderful experience. We were seated with a beautiful window view. The host and waitress were very friendly and attentive. In addition, the tea set was creative and delicious. The sandwiches were very tasty. The sconces came with house made jam that was out of this world. In the dessert plate, there were meringue hiding a yellow creamy yoke, giving a feeling of poached eggs. The umbrella macarons were delicious and the blue bird cream puff was fantastic.
Thank you for a lovely afternoon. 4 of us ladies celebrating our birthday over high tea every year. We are well pampered here this year. The Pink Tea service was lovely (5% profit goes to Breast Cancer Research 💓) The service was fabulous 💓 The setting and view was beautiful 💓 The food was yummy 💓 Thank you 💓💓💓
Great spot for business meetings over coffee. The atmosphere is formal and relaxed at the same time. The coffee is great, and they have wonderful pastries too much on. Its a bit on the pricey side so I took off a star. Ive been planning on getting gin and tonics for happy hour. Otherwise, I love Bluebird London.
Came in for coffee and saw that they have draft latte so I inquired what the difference was from the normal latte. The answer was “it came out of this machine...” I almost wanted to leave but my husband wanted to try it so we ordered one. The draft latte was good, cold, creamy, very different. They have a cool bar, and the restaurant looks very pretty. However, don’t think I’ll be back the service seems like it could be improved. More attentive and checking in with customers would be nice.
Went for Saturday brunch with my family who was visiting and it was the perfect experience. The location was great and the food spectacular. Not to mention the interior! Very Sketch-inspired. The jazz music was also wonderful and they even sang me happy birthday!Only issue was some mixup in my reservation time being changed without notice but that was quickly fixed after a call. And I wasn’t contacted back after trying to reserve for the high tea but our waiter helped fix that on the spot.
Had tickets for NY Philharmonic concert in Rose Theatre. Wonderful ambiance in spacious dining room broken up by the semi-circular bar centrally located with huge window views of Columbus Circle area. Ordered a la carte. Ceasar salad w/ romaine lettuce and plate of shrimp cocktail on spinach were yummy. Sauces and presentations delightful. Tilefish and salmon entrees served over tender vegetables - delicious! Ordered 2 glasses of Pinot. Reasonable prices and good portions. Attentive wait service, too. Will return for more pre-concert dining experiences.
Afternoon tea is a total ripoff. They insist each tower is a double portion but only provide 1 scone, 1 crossaint, and 1 of each small pastry. $55 pp with wretched service (insisted our cups were clean even though debris was literally falling out of them). Go to any other afternoon tea spot.Edit: Manager contacted me and informed this service would be updated to more similarly represent what you would receive at other afternoon teas. May revisit in a month!
1 of my favorite date night spots. They don’t serve a bad item and the service is friendly AF.Ask for a table along the window over Columbus Circle and enjoy wine, and delicious food with the right company and you’re in for a treat if a night. When you’re done, head 1 floor up to Ascent for delicious cocktails and a different vibe keeping the same upscale feel as Bluebird.
The place is very lovely but not for brunch.I reserved the table for multiple people in advance and when we arrived I specifically asked the hostess if we will be able to see the music show. She said “yes” and yeah, we saw their hats. The worst table possible! Also running to the bar and ask for plates, drinks, spoons etc wasn’t nice, but I’ve had no choice because waiters ignored our table.During the week things are better and food is actually really good.
I met up with a friend at the Time Warner Center. We wanted noodles but it was late in the afternoon and the Noodle Bar just had its bar menu. Then we saw what seemed like a small coffee shop, Bluebird London. Turns out that this restaurant has 3 sections: the front which is a casual coffee shop with basic choices. Then theres the second section which is a proper restaurant and the section where we ended up. If you want afternoon tea, or have a meal with an amazing view of Columbia Circle and Central Park, this is the place to be. ROBERT at the Museum of Art and Design is also nice, but Bluebird London is a new discovery. Friendly service, chill vibe.
I love Bluebird London. We live very close, enjoy the view, food and service. Sean is one of the best waiters ever. BUT the managers, in stark contrast to the waitstaff, are not the most pleasant people. I have had more than one unpleasant exchange. A day before my wedding, I joined a table of family that was about to leave. Sean added a chair to the table so that I could sit. Larry one of the managers escorted a party of four to a table behind my party which was missing a chair (the one Sean had JUST given me). Do you know this man accused me of STEALING? Seriously. He actual said out loud, Oh you stole a chair!? No I was provided a chair as I do not steal. I could see Sean must have told him that he gave me the chair and quickly pulled out another chair for the other party. Larry did not apologize or acknowledge me or my table. No goodbye as we left or anything. I dont know if it is a power trip or if the cant handle pressure but New York City is not lacking fabulous place to dine. If the managers dont know how to treat guest than I need not come back.
Im currently volunteering at Mount Sinai Hospital, and staying at the Columbus hotel and directly right across the street is The Shops of Columbus Circle filled with high end stores, A Whole Foods Supermarket and of course restaurants. Long story short...I was looking for a different atmosphere after working 12 hour shifts and wanted a chill, dem place to eat. Well this place has that with beautiful views of Columbus Circle! As well as posh and modern decor. The entire Staff was very attentive to me and my two guests. We ordered the bluebird burger with their special sauce for lunch. It was so full of flavor and fulling! First time a burger just melted in my mouth! They also have a brunch menu and serves chicken and waffles along with with a selection of diverse wines. I think the best part is they have live Jazz on Saturday and Sunday nights! I just cant say enough good things about this place! Im definitely coming back to surprise my parents on their anniversary. I reccommend the Bluebird London to anyone looking for a posh place to eat!
We had the burrata appetizer which was good. Came with a whopping 6 tiny crostinis. For $24 they could have been a bit more generous with the crostinis. It was tasty though so cant complain. Next issue...the main problem was the chicken schnitzel sandwich. The outside was pretty much burned and the inside was suspiciously undercooked with bits and pieces of chicken fat. I was utterly disgusted. Finally, my daughter had a childrens meal with a chocolate chip cookie...that was burned. We pretty much forked up $111 including tip for the location. Ive had better chicken sandwiches and cookies at ChikFila.
Only reason it got 3 stars is cause of the view of Columbus Circle. The cheeseburger was a joke..had to check 3x to see if they forgot to add the cheese..apparently its either blended in with the beef or they were running low that day and only dusted the top of my burger with it..lol.However, my biggest gripe came when it was placed in front of me and the first thing I noticed was the bun was a basic Supermarket wonder bread bun..not even toasted!.Seriously, the only thing that saved the dish were the fries..they were great! But for $24 it was a joke..Much better value at Wendys..Sad but true.......
Very unremarkable, over-priced experience even for Restaurant Week. The atmosphere is nice enough, but at the same time feels like a struggling restaurant in a Las Vegas hotel/casino. Cocktails were good, if the bar service was slow. Food was a let down; truly nothing special. And then bizarrely by 9:00 the lights at the bar turned off and it certainly felt like we were being ushered out, after spending $300 on dinner. There are much better options in New York, even in midtown.
The restaurant week menu is below average. Hardly any options at all. The vegetable in my entree were undercooked. I literally don’t know how I ate it. I waited for more than half an hour to even receive my cocktail. Afterwards I had to wait for at least an hour before receiving my entree. I don’t recommend this place for their restaurant week menu. The burrata appetizer was good and the desert was nice too. But overall this place seemed like a total ripoff. Maybe their regular menu is good but I didn’t get to experience that.
The food overall was really good. The steak tartar was a great starter and my Beef Wellington was amazing. However, the hostess refused to sit us at a window table, claiming they were reserved. Multiple window tables were available. Manager apologized, but the situation and rudeness of the hostess was not overcome by the apology. Food may have been more worth it if we had the beautiful view of the area as we requested. I should note though, our waiter was great too!
This place is so bad on every level: food, service, music, ambiance. Fries say that they are triple cooked, but they are barely cooked and suffer from soggy bone syndrome. I hate to write bad reviews but why was this restaurant made, it’s just so bad it’s hard to fathom the people who got together to make this happen, sad.
Great location, great view. Food was surprisingly good, better than expected. Service was a bit slower than we wanted, but worth the wait. If you want your tea before the food is ready, you need to let the wait person know. My biggest critique is that it is an expensive fixed price high tea, but worth it for a special occasion. Loved everything about this place. The interior designer did a fab job. Wonderful views of Columbus Circle. Delicious food.
I like this place. Great English fare - fish and chips was fresh, chips were warm and crisp, prompt, clean, and attentive service, beautiful views of Central Park West/59th Street and Columbus circle. Cocktails are quality and they have a good wine selection by the glass. Prices are reasonable and social distancing measures are well observed.
Underwhelming place. The host was rude and uninterested. And even with a reservation took us forever to be served. The poor server was overworked, since they were clearly understaffed. A bit over the bare minimum some place make in the city compare to other cities in the world.
The restaurant is gorgeous. The colors are vibrant and the chairs are comfy. The staff is friendly and will assist with anything requested. The hot chocolate I had tasted like it was a no-frills store brand variety. It was a definitely hard to finish but I was craving the hot chocolate so I took what I could get. The turkey club was nice but forgettable. The cheddar bacon biscuit was the true winner of the morning. The biscuit itself is a bit dry but the syrup delivers a 1,2 3 punch. I would go back for the ambiance and that biscuit.
What an absolutely exceptional dining experience I had this evening at Bluebird London New York City. Im a serious Diner with very limiting food allergy issues. I had a dream experience in the most concerned and diligent care from our server, Michael, to what magic he brought out from the kitchen. What Joy, with all my limitations in food, to experience color flavor and texture that were extraordinary. The view of Columbus Circle couldnt be seated in a better position then that floor and that precise angle. The decor is soft on the eyes. Nice flow. Nice crowd. I cant wait to go back for more of a great thing. A must dying experience.Karen Moss
I loved everything about this place, the window view over the park, the kind waiters, the food,... but I must admit that the last thing I want on a Saturday morning for breakfast are construction works noises... sat down, got asked what I wanted, and the the noise started and it was loud and extremely unpleasant... we changed places but it was as bad... we wrapped up quickly and left...
We stopped in for a drink while waiting for a table at a nearby restaurant. We had a 25 min wait for our table at the other restaurant so we thought we had time for a quick coffee and lemonade. We were very wrong! We ordered at the to-go counter at the front of the store. It took a while for someone to appear at the counter (there was a 3 person long line at that point) and once the waitress did appear she took one persons order and promptly disappeared. We waited at least 10 mins for her to reappear. Once she did she took over 5 mins to make the espresso. We also ordered a lemonade, which she said came from the bar in the back. There was now an even longer line and a group of people waiting for drinks. We waited and waited for the lemonade. Multiple waiters and the manager told us that the lemonade was coming soon. It wasnt until we went up to the bar ourselves to ask if the lemonade was coming that it finally came. It took like 15 mins to get the lemonade. It took nearly a half hour to just get the two drinks. Ridiculous. They were so disorganized at the front counter that at one point a guy just walked up from outside of the cafe and walked off with a croissant without any waiters noticing.Would not recommend if you just want a quick coffee.
Breakfast was great, with a view of Columbus Circle. Scones are a delight with some fresh strawberry jam, and the other pastries we ordered were nice and warm too. My french toast was just perfect. Not too sweet, not too bland. Some good cream was smothered inside and bacon on top was cooked just right. Just beware, it opens at 10am on weekends.
Checked it out since it’s new . Didn’t know much about them but I know now that they are hailing from London. The hostess offered to show us the space when she noticed us checking the menu and showed us the different areas which consisted of the lounge area for small bites and drinks, then the bar area which happened to have live music that evening and the dining area that had the view of the Central Park and the Columbus circle. We stayed for the view and the live music. Ordered appetizers, drinks and the grilled salmon as well as beef Wellington. This was a rare treat since not many places offer it.The food was good but not phenomenal. Prices are on the high side. It’s a cute place to check out if you’re in the area but I wouldn’t necessarily go out of my way for it. I’d like to try their brunch and high tea next time!

Good restaurant. Was there for an event, with family style entrees. Service was good, food was 7/10. Ambience was wonderful. Service from the main waiters attending to the event were wonderful. The busboys did not do a great job with bringing out requested entrees if we wanted more of them.
Having been to the stellar Bluebird in London I was excited to learn they were opening a location in NYC. The space is lovely and if you can score a window seat you’ll have a lovely view of Columbus Circle and Central Park. However when I went in December shortly after it opened I was definitely underwhelmed by the food which I thinks explains some of the mediocre reviews from a couple months ago. It was a very British menu and quite bland. I know new restaurants usually need a couple months to find their footing so I decided to give them another try. What an improvement! There is a new executive chef and the menu has been totally revamped. We had a great meal and the service was spot on. And if you’re a gin aficionado you’ll love their G&T options.
Horrible experience! Food was bellow average and so not worth the price. Service was horrible. It was our intention to go to the noodle bar but it was closed because it was a Sunday. I was there with 3 young kids while my husband parked the car. They wouldnt let me go in with my stroller although I was struggling with 3 kids. I thought it applied to everyone but noticed there were strollers everywhere. I had to request a high chair, no initiative was taken to assist. Complained to the manager but he didnt handle it. Quite a shame because the location and ambiance was good.
We went there for breakfast on 01.19.2020 with high expectations and memories of the cafe in London. We we greeted by the hostess and promptly placed on a table by the window pillar and thus effectively had no view when the restaurant was more than 70% empty. Our host took our order and said they cant make any swaps but can remove things from orders because they are very busy (no problem at all! we get it). I ordered an English breakfast without eggs and without the black pudding and my husband the chia seed bowl. My husbands breakfast came and he ate it, I continued to wait. After 15 mins the server came and explained that my order was accidentally missed by their system and that the manager would take care of it (great, but wheres my food). While waiting I noticed a server who put down his tray of food, and them promptly fixed the spikes in his hair style over the stay before he continued to serve (ouch!)Anyway, my food arrived with a bunch of substitutions, because the server I was either vegan or vegetarian (could have just asked). The beans were floating in a sickly red sauce, upon asking I was told these are the vegan version (not the Heinz beans) as advertised on the menu. They didnt bother to serve any dinner, because they assumed I am vegan - despite later asking for it, it never came. The fries were great! : )Finally the bill came and the manager gesture was not included. So exhausted from our breakfast we decided to just pay and never go back to this supposedly Fine Dining Restaurant.
Service was great, decor beautiful, but food was not great.I didnt enjoy the triple fried chips and barely ate them. They attempted to serve us a burnt souffle and tried to hide it with more shredded cheese. We ordered the souffle to share and the plate was burning hot. It was set in the middle of the table with no way to move it. Of course when I tried to move it, I burned myself. When I asked the server to take it back he also burned himself because it was so hot.My fish and chips was a single giant log of fried fish with a side of fries. Batter was good but I would have preferred them cut it down into smaller pieces. For the price, I would expect more.
I had a really great dinner there. Service was perfect. Food was delicious. Wine list extensive with interesting bottles to try. A really great location/view/room...I didn’t experience anything near to what Eater and The NYT “wrote” about in their unnecessarily insulting reviews from December 2018. Reading them was way more unpleasant than the nice dinner I had their just last night. So glad I ate there first and read reviews later.
The view is great, the portions are delicate but delicious and it is a beautiful restaurant but thats where it ends. The service is presumptuous, much like the dining rooms patrons and lacking in hospitality. Every course was given to the wrong person. Our server came over and would ask how everything was while already walking away from the table, so he could care less. He also took no care in pointing the table. He wedged in our flatware at the corner of our table for us to take. We also ordered beers and something seemed off, and sure enough the beer had expired. Im a firm believer in not complaining because it isnt a fun experience to completely hault your romantic night out just to get the attention of your server to show them how horrible something is and then have that akward exchange of , oh Im so sorry, oh my goodness scenario. In a world of restaurants like NYC it simply gets put on the, never go back again list. Smooches!
Went during restaurant week for lunch. I had an onion with truffle soup and hanger steak. Portions were generous for lunch and quality was superb. Looks to be a great place to catch up and have drinks. Lovely vibe which reminds you of London. A bit pricey if it wasnt for restaurant week.
It gets 5 stars for ambiance and service. However the quality and taste the food were lacking. Tried the butternut squash soup...it was bland, no flavor and tasted like sipping on cooking oil. How could one go wrong with lobster bisque, again no flavor, t ...by e lobster pieces made up for it, but the whole thing tasted bitter. The scallop dish was tasty. If you like fries you certainly wont enjoy it here. My honest opinion is that they need a new chef that understand flavors of food. For Bland tasteless dishes come here.
Got seater immediately which should have been a tip off for a Sunday brunch in NYC on a holiday Sunday no less. I practically had to cast a net to catch anyone to get ANYTHING. Food was ice cold and when I put a fork into my soft boiled egg cold water ran out of it. We were overcharged on this price fix meals. The toast came out cold and with huge holes in it and without the jelly or butter as advertised on the menu. We were served our appetizers but one of us did not receive his appetizer and that was delivered with his main meal. Rough service... they didnt seem to care at all.
Terrible experience. Noise level was painful, even at a supposedly quiet table. Cumberland sausage was a joke... Not the coiled magnificence of a true Cumberland sausage, but some breakfast links rolling around on a plate. It was also meant to be a starter, but arrived after the fish and chips.Battered fish was well executed, but only one fillet, which is neither traditional nor appropriate at the price. Mushy peas were not mushy in any sense; more like uncooked and shredded. Chips were not anything you couldnt find done better at most fast food joints.Coffee came without cream or sweetener; a request for steamed almond milk came out wrong 3 times (not at all; then with coffee, [not ordered]; finally, not streamed, but ice cold)Scoops of ice cream for dessert were single dips in tiny ramekins. Uninspired to say the least.Better to get your fish and chips fix at A Salt and Battery.
This review is way overdue, we dined with my friend few weeks ago and I am still thinking of how beautiful the place was! They have the best gin focused Cocktail menu, I fell in love with white lady cocktail. We had a few starters at the bar, scallops ceviche and crab toast, both yummy but bit too small. Then we moved to our table by the window, the dinning room is huge yet it feels very cozy. For dinner I had the lobster spaghetti, it was a nice surprise because it comes with a half of a lobster over the pasta. And my friend had the short rib which was very tasty as well. For desserts we shared the chocolate bluebird filled with chocolate mouse and the Pavlova - a merengue filled with mint sorbet aka perfection! Service was very attentive and it only made our experience more enjoyable. Supper stoked were going back this weekend!!!
Ive been there twice, October 5th, soon after they opened, and this past week. Both times the service was awful. Ill still give them 2 stars because the food is good, and the service staff, while struggling is friendly. Both times I was there, they had troubles with our drink orders. Once giving us the wrong wine (the Somm never looked at the bottles label) and once giving us an extra cocktail, because 2 different waiters brought it over (ok, that one worked out well, as they only charged us for one). Last time, 30 minutes after ordering, our server informed us he was going on a break, and our meal would be handled by someone else. After 45 minutes (meaning 15 minutes later), our salad and cheeseburger had not yet arrived. I asked, and I was informed my burger was being plated. 9 minutes later, I asked again, and was informed it was being cooked. 5 minutes later, our original waiter returned from break and served my burger. Mentioning the issues to the waitstaff is almost as frustrating as the service issues. I wish them well, but there are other restaurants in the Time Warner Center where I can have an issue free dinner.Other notes: the decor is beautiful. The unisex bathroom is odd, and the electronic hand dryers are set too low on the wall. The noise level is loud.
Sadly very disappointing. From no staff manning the reception desk leaving a line of waiting customers then having to go looking around the restaurant to find staff to them seated and the staff not making any attempted to apologize for the wait. Each time an order arrived it was missing key accompaniments like bread but with no side butter, tea and coffee missing milk. The two dishes we ordered like the breakfast sandwich arrived missing ingredient like the cheddar, the English breakfast missing the mushrooms.Speaking of the English breakfast. Strictly speaking, as a Brit, it wasnt what was advertised. The Cumberland sausages were not Cumberland sausages (the size of a chipolata), a mouthful of black pudding served with the string and skin on, US- Style streaky instead of back bacon. Small details but at $24 dollars a plate it needs to be spot on.Then our waiter serving us coffee seemingly had not put the coffee pot lid on correctly spilt coffee all over the table and on our food. I get mistakes happen, but at this price point 1 way too many.
***Bluebird London did not disappoint***I purchased the candle lit yoga at Equinox & brunch special. Today (1/20/2019) was my first time at the Bluebird London in Columbus Circle. All I can say is that this restaurant did not disappoint. From the atmosphere to the dining experience and service, the team brought their A-game.I made reservations and the team was very responsive (via email) from the start. Upon arriving, my guest and I were greeted by a friendly and warm staff at the front desk. The Maître D was very hospitable and led us to our table.Food: We ordered brunch menu items : Waffles (which were heavenly delightful) and Cheeseburger (equally deliciously prepared).Service: It was exceptional thanks to our server Faycal & busboy Jahmil! These two were a dynamic duo. Jahmil is very attentive and ensured our glasses were always filled and the table was clean. Faycal, our server, was incredibly professional, knowledgeable and carried a certain poise in everything he delivered.Overall: I’d highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a quality and fun dining experience. And, I look forward to my next visit.
What happened to the legendary Beef Wellington dish???After several glorious visits to Bluebird for the delectable shareable roasts and Wellingtons, tonights birthday meal for my wifes favorite proved a veritable $50 slap in the face when we were served a single solitary slim slice of beef Wellington on a side dish and met with stumped expressions from waitstaff and management about the circular mound of delicious shareable pastry that apparently was minimized earlier this year. Bluebird, this was your signature dish! Dont tell us that portions were trimmed for cost saving measures... Please restore this goodness or face the loss of a dedicated clientele.
I took my girlfriend here recently for her birthday and we had an excellent time. The food was delicious. The staff was attentive yet not in your face. Cool cocktail list and fantastic wine list. Fun vibe as well. Not to mention greats views of Central Park. I will definitley be back very soon. Thank you Bluebird!!!
I went to Bluebird a few nights ago for dinner with friends and it was fabulous! From the atmosphere, great music, amazing cocktails (Bramble is the way to go!), and spectacular views, you cant go wrong! Our server was very attentive and gave us good recommendations. The monkfish and shrimp curry main and fluke crudo starter was delicious!! Wish I had room for dessert but will definitely have to come back for that. One nice touch I noticed was that they played all Beatles music in the restrooms, super cute! Will definitely be coming back!
Plum Collins was nice. Burger and Fish of Fish and Chips were quite solid, though the minted peas and fries were not worthy complements. Most disappointing was service. An inexplicable wait for server at the start of meal, water was never refilled in the meal, and though we requested a dessert menu toward the end of our entree and told our server we had an 800 curtain (we were looking forward to the toffee pudding), we never saw her again and had to wrangle down a different server to close out our meal.
We unexpectedly happened upon this place for a weekday lunch. What a pleasant surprise it was! The food, service, and well-appointed room added to a very lovely dining experience. I definitely look forward to coming back here, again. And I will certainly recommend it in the future.
Where do I start? The only good news was the wonderful view of Columbus Circle, on a gorgeous day. However the restaurant experience was terrible. Service was slow (for no obvious reason) and food was sub par. On top of that we sat next to a table of loud guests. We left before desert. Avoce was terrific! Bluebird management has a lot of work to do.
I was in the mood for a light lunch and cocktail at Time Warner Center and decided on Bluebird. But apparently I hadnt actually decided - I first had to play a game of 20 questions with the hostess to have her decide where in Bluebird I should sit - lounge, bar, or main dining room. Which turned out to be exceptionally odd since the restaurant was more or less empty. I could have sat anywhere I wanted (and should have been offered that choice). Anyway, I was given a seat at the bar which turned out fine since I had the full attention of the excellent bartender.
Bluebird London NYC interior looks stylish and pretty; however most staffs including a reception staff were not friendly to me. Their behavior to me wasnt professional enough to make me welcomed. Their service wasnt flexible enough to consider a gentle customers satisfaction.I had the Two Eggs with sausage and coffee. Three small burned sausages were disappointed; however scrambled eggs was good. I gave two stars because of the scrambled eggs and its vibe.It was a very busy day of the Warner Center so that getting a table for a meal was challenge, so I decided staying this restaurant to have a lunch. I wont go back Bluebird London NYC again.
Dined there for Afternoon Tea last week. Thought Id try the service. Poor on all levels- host was most unpleasant and unfriendly. Neither greeted us on arrival or departure. $120 for Tea for Two with tax and tip and the best they could do was a Twinnings tea bag. Talk about mediocre. Very poor ambience- not conducive to an afternoon tea service at all. Manager walk around but never inquire about level of enjoyment or lack thereof. LOUSY.
Traveling from London, I invited some of my New York City based clients to join me for Dinner at Blue Bird New York. Knowing the brand from London I had high expectations and I have to say they over exceeded these expectations.Super location, Fantastic design, delicious food and top notch service.Highly appreciated the special touches from Londons Bluebird General Manager. This is what hospitality is all about!I would definitely com back and strongly recommend this place for business client entertainment.
Stunning space overlooking Columbus Circle with something for everyone—breakfast, lunch, dinner, afternoon tea & cocktails. Great for meetings or dining out with friends or a date. I work around here so I come quite often... it’s so nice to enjoy a refreshing Gin & Tonic after a long day. Their Afternoon Tea is a must!
I reserve 5-star ratings for the truly exceptional, truly unique above and beyond places. Bluebird London deserves that recognition!Eloquence meets trendy in the perfect mix of upscale British culture, but a cool and spacious vibe, it’s upscale but isn’t stuffy which is hard ambiance to master. The food is exquisite. It’s not American. The Burrata appetizer was one of the best pieces of mozzarella I’ve yet to try. As an entree I got the Monkfish and Shrimp curry. I can’t begin to explain the intricacy and mastery of flavor, but I was able to make my meal (mix the rice and curry, adding chutney on the side). Interacting with your food is a great experience I love. One of my highest recommendations under the “Hot and New” additions to the city. The Shops at Columbus Circle is a very prestigious spot, and only top tier restaurants will make it here. I have no doubt that Bluebird will be available for a very long time, Well done!
Food is borderline exceptional and the atmosphere is great (very cool vibe), but they may not survive. The service is incredibly inconsistent and slow. The staff is friendly, but appeared to be very disorganized both times weve been here. The crowd was noticeably smaller the second time around. We really hope they make it.
This place has a cool vibe and classy 60s feel. Having been here many times, a little disappointed in the service this visit (5p Wed 2/13). Sat in the front area for coffee and when we were ready for the check couldnt draw their attention, had to go to the bar and then there was a problem cashing out the ticket.
Celebrated my wife’s 5oth with the family. Very disappointing, staff was unattentive and practically non existence. While food was good, 4 finger sandwiches, 2 scones 4 tiny cakes for $45 (ex tax and tip) over priced as typically when in having afternoon tea in London typically they refill your sandwiches, however when asking, the staff were taken back, as though we were crazy, and said we would have to pay more. Totally disappointing experience for such a special occasion. Also when booking I informed they that is was my wife’s 50th. However there was no acknowledge not even a candle ....
It was our first time in this extraordinary place, the decoration, the atmosphere and the entire work team made this special day for my wife an unforgettable occasion and we want to thank all the attention of our waiter Peter who was incredible, a very friendly person and that he was always very attentive to our table, thank you very much for all your attention, and of course we will see you soon.
Briefly went in to pick up my ritual order ( draft latte). Latte is refreshing and creamy, they offer paper straws but I recommend bringing your own or not using a straw as the black colored paper straw they provided made the latte taste like bitter cardboard after a few minutes of sitting in the drink (3-5 min).Summary: latte good, paper straw changes flavor of drink
My family and I came for a birthday dinner and the restaurant stole my heart. I split with my boyfriend the NY Striploin and the pepper sauce was AMAZING. The lobster bisque was great to start. The staff was so attentive and I never needed to grab their attention for too long (which is rare in this city). Definitely will come again!!
Great scenery and service. Went for brunch and have live jazz. On the pricier side and was crowded but had a good time. You get a view of Columbus Circle right outside. The tea was good and the skinny fries were great. Portions for the english brunchs were small though. Poached eggs tasted great also. I do recommend this place for casual brunch if you got money, but if not then this place is great for special occasions.
We had a really nice Thursday evening meal.Burrata and Brussels to start, followed by the Beef Wellington for two which was delightful. Got a great bottle of wine and the staff was attentive and polite. I will be back here for the DJ who plays Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
Discovered Bluebird London when I was searching for a place that served sticky toffee pudding in NYC. Came here for dinner service two nights back-to-back, because the menu looks spectacular and I did not get to try everything I wanted on the first night. The food is good, service is attentive but not overbearing (the captain and bus boys were great, while the main waiters need a bit more polishing), and the atmosphere and decor of the restaurant are comfortable.Bread service - would have preferred if the bread was warmed or came with some olive oil on the side for dipping.Appetizers:Ahi tuna poke - tuna was very fresh and good portion. Our favorite appetizer that night.Lobster & shrimp cocktail - it was okay.Fluke crudo - nice seasoning on the fluke.Farmhouse pork terrine - delicious, but $20 is expensive for one piece that is half inch thick and the size of a cracker.Celeriac soup - wasnt too impressed by this soup. Felt it was lacking something in the flavoring or taste.Entrees:Monkfish & shrimp curry - Wonderful flavors, colors, and texture all on one dish. The curry sauce has a nice kick to it, but not too spicy with basmati rice. The paratha roti that came with the dish is simply delicious and satisfying.Maine lobster - tasty but perhaps grilled a few seconds too long because it was a bit chewy for my liking.Roasted Atlantic cod - loved the texture and cook on the fish, but it was a little under seasoned. A dash of salt would have helped. The bed of mashed potato that the cod sat atop of was very good - smooth texture. Didnt care much for the little neck clams. I just wished there are some colors to this dish. Once you cut into the dish, the fish and mash potato seemed to blend deceivingly together.Beef Wellington - serving size for 2 people. But if you are ordering a few appetizers and a side, then the Beef Wellington can probably serve 3 people. The dish was served as four thick cut slices paired with a watercress salad, and gravy on the side. The beef was cooked to a perfect medium rare.Wild mushroom fregola - tasty and surprisingly very filling. More mushroom please - there was a good balance of it on the dish, but Im just a fan of mushrooms.Sides:Creamed spinach - wasnt creamy enough for me.Steamed broccoli rabe - tasted as expected and steamed perfectly (in texture and color)Desserts:Bluebird - chocolate and hazelnut praline mousse inside a blue colored submarine chocolate shell, paired with some raspberry sorbet. Good dessert to share.Sticky toffee pudding - delectable! Wish I could finish it, but after a full meal I only managed to indulge a few spoons of this rich dessert.Date rice pudding - my favorite dessert since it was the least sweet out of the three desserts we ordered. The dates and pistachios with the rice pudding is a wonderful combination.
Coffee was fine but the service was inattentive. When we sat down they didnt even offer a menu just told us they were out of most things and to just order off the top of our head, even though we didnt know what they offered. Ended up paying a fair amount for coffee and a latte. A good place if you want to sit down in the mall, though; the lack of attention means you can stay a while and they wont ask you to leave.
Im sorry to have to leave such a low rating; I had high hopes for Bluebird. However, the service was inconsistent-- either fawning over us to order more champagne or rushing us out the door, as we were at a prime table with a view. This would have been able to be overlooked if the food had been stellar; it was just okay. Too bad, as the place is lovely but, Im afraid I would not come back.
This was a restaurant I would frequent weekly if not monthly with friends/colleagues even dine by myself. After the rude behavior of one of the mangers, I felt it not necessary to eat there any longer. Note to owners, customers is what keeps you open regardless of decor and selective culinary selections. This is not hospitality!
I will definitely be returning to Bluebird London ! Amazing food all around , I went with a group of friends while we were shopping in the city and we were not disappointed. The atmosphere of the spot is very inviting and all around cozy! Service was great and more importantly our food was delicious. Highly recommended !
I had the great pleasure of having my first meal at Bluebird London NYC today and can attest to being both a feast for tastebuds as well as the eyes. In addition to the food and decor the staff is outstanding. I hope to have many more enjoyable meals at Bluebird. Susan Goldstein
Had brunch ! Nice decor , order arrived very late . Mhorrible food Ordere dish no. 1 chicken sandwich ( did ask the server if it is too apricot flavor forward and they said no it’s hint) god only knows what it was . Too sweet yucky curry and chicken was dead 🤪 in terms of the flavor .Dish no. 2 . Scrambled egg with toast !!! I am not sure how anyone can make egg dish Taste bad . ( really need to learn that )Dish no: 3 halibut . Sorry beautiful fish for not loving you enough .Cooking 101 tip . If you cook the fish with skin don’t put a sauce or anything on the skin if you are serving the skin side up . They had put salsa looking thing on the skin and it got so soggy that it was disgusting . Also no seasoning what so ever . There was arugula as a prop in the plate . No dressing . ( why would you kill a dish like that)Dish no: 3! Kids menus pre fix 😷.Veggie sticks with hummas . Which kids eats raw broccoli , raw purple coliflower and radish and raw asparagus ! I mean ......( I guess the chef does not have kid )Spaghetti with tomato sauce . Good !!! Only because they used bottled sauce 🤣You guys can do sooooooooo much better . At least have average tasting food!
Great location, nice food, worst service in New York. Everything, but everything about the service was absolute rubbish. And we’re Brits, recently moved to New York, who love the Bluebird in London. This will close within a few months unless they sort this out. Just awful.

2022-01-17This is quickly becoming my fave brunch spot in the Upper West Side. It has great views of Columbus Circle so even if it’s gray and rainy out, the restaurant is bright and cheery. The food’s UK flare is both comfort food but not heavy. Must order: Bed of Roses champagne cocktail, the truffle fries and the truffle Caesar salad with juicy grilled shrimp is highly recommended. And if you have the chance, make sure to be seated with server, Sean. He has great advice on what to order, his timing is perfect-he always checked in with us just at the right moment. Not too much, not too little. He was attentive and super friendly without being too chatty. Everyone I bring, loves it.

2022-07-30So I was quite disappointed with the afternoon tea experience. This was for our 15 year wedding anniversary.First thing was the water. We both left the tea to steep for a couple of minutes, only to find out the water was not even piping hot.The white tea pots were scuffed up, like they used metal brushes to clean them, very sad. They even used a tea bag for my wifes tea, pathetic. After the water was replaced, I found a chip in my tea cup. Really? That cup should have been thrown out. See photo. The cucumber sandwich had a slice of stale bread while the other slice was decent. See photo. The top slice was the stale piece. The service was also mediocre.Clotted cream and jam were the little jars one would get at the supermarket, not done in nice ramekins. We had better service at the Orangery in London and Alices Tea Cup in Manhattan.Decor was nice, but that is the only nice thing I can say about this place.

2022-01-24Delicious food and excellent service. The food is a little expensive but worth it. This restaurant overlooks Columbus Circle which is really nice. I definitely suggest and recommend you check this place out!

2022-02-20Went with friends for afternoon tea. $55 was a reasonable price, but it just wasn’t that nice. Maybe their meal options are better but the quality of the product for afternoon tea was average or below (I couldn’t even finish the cakes as they just tasted of sugar). Great views though and lovely decoration, just a shame about the food.

2021-10-20I am so in love with this place! The service was beyond amazing! I enjoy going to a restaurant where I don’t have to look around for the waiter. I swear he must have been psychic because he just appeared whenever we needed him. The pastries were delectable, the food was flavorful and we especially enjoyed the beautiful voice and music of the live jazz. I highly recommend this place and plan to go back soon!

2022-07-21My go to spot for brunch! Sometimes on Saturdays they have live jazz music. The view is really nice. They also offer afternoon tea but you have to request it in advance

2022-02-23Great food and great service. Our waiter gave us their honest opinion about the menu based on what they liked. The 12 oz NY was done perfectly, lean and sliced. I love the au jus on the side as places dont always offer it.Salmon is salmon. It was as one would expect so not much to say here. And the burrito was great. We really liked the herbed salsa. It was a nice change from the usual burrata. The reason for only four stars is the location. The restaurant is in a mall in Columbus Circle, on the third floor. Bluebird could set the atmosphere hook a little better with a stand alone restaurant in Soho or something. Still, the food and service matters most and Bluebird hits the spot.

2021-10-18I adored this restaurant! The view is beautiful. The staff, welcoming and friendly. The decor is fun to look at! The bartender is a philosopher, I had fun chatting with him. I had the steak and eggs for brunch. The sauce that accompanied the steak eggs and chips was one of the best things Ive ever eaten. Charming and delicious. Youll love Bluebird London.

2022-07-19We dropped in for happy hour and were excited by the $1 oysters. Cocktails were innovative. Food was good. Design of the restaurant with curves and chartreuse highlights against neutrals and view of Columbus Circle and the park was epic.

2022-04-08Bluebird has most of the trappings of an upscale eatery at Columbus Circle. The afternoon tea left a little bit to be desired. On the upside, there was a good selection of teas and the quiche, curry chicken bun and profiterole were delicious. On the downside, the teas were not loose leaf and the lemon meringue tart was very no bueno.Service was attentive but perhaps not up to the standard the decor and price point might lead one to expect.
