Our sales lady was great. That being said we were concerned about some of the scratches on the vehicle we purchased. They covered them up when we picked it up. The first car wash revealed the scratches. They also changed the rotors but not the break pads. We are still waiting on the money we were over charged for registration fee. When we purchased a van when it was Genesee valley the experience was 10 stars. We will not be purchasing another vehicle from them again. Make sure when buying from them look extremely well at everything.
I took my 2019 High Country in for an oil change a few weeks ago. We just moved to the area, I asked around about this dealership and was given mixed reviews but basically figured I wanted to have my truck serviced by a GM dealership and it was just an oil change.I was wrong, they didn’t tighten the oil filter on properly and over the next couple weeks it became a little more looser. I started out by seeing the occasional drop of oil and thought for sure it was a different vehicle, then I saw more and more (at the time I wasn’t parking in my garage), finally I started to park in my driveway and saw oil spots in the morning, the first morning I wasn’t completely sure it was from my truck, the next morning there was no doubt. Got under the truck and the filter was indeed loose. Fortunately I was only down just over a quart. When you have that much invested in a vehicle you would think the dealership would take care but I suppose it was “just an oil change “ for them.Needless to say, I’ll never be back and I’d recommend you stay away, we have too many options.
I had a very good experience. The manager Joe was very professional and accommodating with helping me redeem my Chevrolet rewards to pay for my oil change. They were very effecient at doing the work and my cars service took about an hour. Bob Johnson Chevrolet is my number one choice for service.
Had my oil changed there recently, and they wouldnt accept my coupon unless it was printed out, but it stated in E-mail that all I had to do was show them the E-mail and would be honored. Called to pay for the oil change over the phone as I was at work and would pick the vehicle up after work and it would be after hours and they refused to leave keys in car after I gave them permission to leave keys in car. Went to pick car up the next morning on my way to work and could not get in my vehicle had to use my second set of keys to get vehicle and my husband had to go back and get the original set. They have left other set of keys in our other new vehicle for us but refused to do it for this one.
This was a lot better experience then I thought it would be. I have not had good luck with purchasing cars in the past. Cole and Steve were great. They listened to what I wanted, got me in what I wanted with the payment I wanted to be at. The payment was what we discussed and didnt go up when I went to sign the papers. I was very nervous about the process.
I wasnt really ready to purchase a new vehicle but decided it was my best option.Steve Johnson and Cole Johnson were very patient and helpful thru the entire process.Cole was my actual salesman and he presented options, numbers and even brought in a car I was very interested in.Once I had made a decision, Cole was excellent start to finish and has touched base with me since the purchase.I actually decided to stick with Bob Johnson and shop just at that location because of Steve and Cole. Please commend them on their service!
Mark is superb. He is always so upbeat and friendly. Hes such a great help and made this trade transfer as smooth as glass. Garth was extremely friendly as well and was a huge help in getting me into what I wanted.Thank you Bob Johnson 390 Chevy!! Im beyond ecstatic with my new Colorado!!!Sincerely,T.M - A Most Satisfied Customer
I was very skeptical about going there with my truck however since I walked in the door the very first time they’ve treated me with the upmost respect and have serviced and repaired but I asked them to without anything extra being added onto the bell. I’m still very nervous about writing this call right now they’ve been in amazing car repair shop. They have gotten me in and same-day service which is very odd but when they tell me my vehicle is going to be done it is done within the same day. As of right now I do highly recommend this dealership and it is unfortunate that other people have not had the experience and I’ve had
I was a little apprehensive going into the dealership on account of some negative reviews that I had read online. In actuality my experience was excellent. Mark Snyder and Dave Sproul were friendly, straightforward, honest, patient and fair. We came to an agreement on price that I was fairly pleased with and I did not feel pressured or misled on any of my decisions. There were no hidden, unusual or inflated fees. I am absolutely thrilled with the vehicle I took home and if I can, I think I will return for my next vehicle. Thanks!
One thing you don’t want to do is buy a used car from these people. I bought a jeep for them there is a huge hole in the sub frame to the point where the wheel could fall off. I know for a fact a hole that size could not happen in the 6 month I had the car. And service manager said oh there could of been a flak covering it up. So my safty and my kids safety are in jeopardy because your tech didn’t do his job. Never again will I buy a car from these people or recommend one
My experience with Bob Johnson 390 Chevrolet was outstanding. I had my doubts about purchasing a vehicle in this new environment but I was wrong. I spoke over the phone with my sales person Bryan Smith who asked me the questions he needed to be able to select a vehicle for me. Over several phone calls, we agreed on a price and he arranged for a pick up date. He offered for me to come and drive the vehicle before making my decision but I chose to just come in at pick up. Bryan assured me that if I didnt like the vehicle once I saw it, the deal would be off. I loved the 2020 Equinox he chose for me and I would say that my experience with Bob Johnson 390 Chevrolet was made even better by my sales person Bryan who definitely went out of his way to make my buying experience easy
I had an issue that lasted 3 months when I first bought my car so I was already upset with Bob Johnson. I received a free oil change/tire rotation for the issues I had so I came in for that. Everything went smoothly till I went to leave and my check engine light came on. The mechanic forgot to put something back on my car. I will NEVER return for ANY REASON!
Very nice Bob Johnson with decent selection. I had a much better experience here than other Bob Johnsons. Avon sales team is not pushy at all and they helped me find the right truck that I wanted and not one that was left over inventory that other Bob Johnsons clearly wanted to get rid of.I ended up getting the right truck with the right people. I wish it was closer since it’s about 30 minutes from me but it’s well worth the drive for a great dealership. At pickup, the final paper work went smoothly. The truck was washed, cleaned and vacuumed. I had a great experience and I hope other do too.
I have no issues with Bob Johnson Chevy. I was there about a month ago to see if I could get out of my lease. My salesman, Anthony Sutera told me I was too early. I was back out there on Thursday June 24th and Tony was able to get me out of my lease into another 19 Equinox. I was able to get back into the LT trim, (mid level)as my previous 19 is an LS (Base trim) and prior to that I had a 2012 Equinox LT. I plan on keeping my next Equinox till the wheels fall off.
My car broke down, a gm vehicle. Had my car towed in to be fixed. Luckily I live in the area, if youre from out of state, beware. They work backwards. They put appointments first, emergency last. Thats not the way to do it. Deal with emergency breakdowns first and get them back on the road asap. My car just needs an hour of labor and 1 part to fix it.
Bryan Small did a great job working with me and getting me to a place where I felt confident in my purchase. He was knowledgeable In the product and friendly during any form of communication and I will definitely be recommending him and the Bob Johnson team to my friends and family for their vehicle purchasing needs.
If I could rate this place zero, I would. I went in for some simple work, (work they said was needed) was there for 3.5 hours, and after they gave my car back it was worse than when I took it in. I could not even drive 40 mph after taking my car out of there, the check engine light was flashing and my car was shaking like crazy. I had to turn around in the farmers market thats just down the road because I didnt know what was wrong. Go back in for them to do five more minutes of work and then my cars fine again. If they would have finished the job right in the first place I wouldnt have needed to almost get hit by a truck because my car wouldnt pick up speed or drive right.
I just wanted to write in and thank service guys Mark and Ryan for a great service experience. I had a slow leak in a tire and they found the problem and fixed it immediately. They were friendly, polite and informative, explaining the issue and the steps they would take to remedy the problem. I was impressed by the handshake they offered and the courtesy they showed me. Thanks again !
I wanted a truck that involved a dealer trade. On a Monday I put down a $500.00 deposit. On Tuesday I had an appointment to fill out all the paper work involved in buying a new vehicle. Way too much.On Wednesday I was told the other dealer wouldnt trade. Im kinda unhappy. Once I put down the $500.00 shouldnt the trade have started? Why give BJ 390 all my personal info if the deal was not firm?
Leaving 1 star as I do at least have my new vehicle. I was very hopeful as the dealership was recommended to me, but unfortunately I found the salesperson to be unresponsive over the whole process, which drew out the buying process considerably (took a month to finalize the deal). More recently, the dealership failed to register my car on time despite several inquiries to the dealership noting I had not received it (with no response). 45 days in, I still do not have a registration. In the end, I am happy to have my vehicle, but the experience left (and still leaves, as I have a few outstanding issues not being resolved) much to be desired. Unfortunately, I would not recommend purchasing here and will not purchase from them in the future.
This is the first new vehicle purchase I have made since 2005. I have previously made purchases at Bob Johnson Chevrolet but at the Greece store. I now live in a different town closer to the Bob Johnson store in Avon. I did shop a couple of other GM Dealerships but I was really disappointed at the level of service and dishonesty of their sales associates.I decided to contact the Bob Johnson Avon location and connected with Bryan Small.Bryan posses the sense of urgency, honesty and integrity I remember receiving from Bob Johnson Chevrolet Greece store. Bob Johnson Chevrolet has a small town corporate culture of knock your socks off customer service that you just dont experience at other dealerships.I look forward to returning to Bob Johnson Chevrolet and working with Bryan Small again for our next purchase.Thank you,Jim & Maria DelVecchioP.S. My wife loves her new Chevy!
I have been at this location a couple of times. The services folks are exceptional every time. Communication is excellent and they are always able to articulate the issues with me clearly. I am confident they will always take the extra steps to help their customers. Its a pleasure to do business with these folks.
I was greeted warmly and immediately felt comfortable. I was offered a beverage as we chatted about what I was shopping for, When I returned to pick up my new Equinox, the salesman took plenty of time to explain all the paperwork, He also spent plenty of time in the vehicle with me to show and explain all the features and answer my many questions.. His attention-to-detail is to be commended.
I was looking for a vehicle to lease but still owed quite a bit of money on my current vehicle. I started my search with another dealership that we have trusted for our past vehicle purchases. The price they gave me on the vehicle I was looking for was double the amount I expressed to them that I could pay. They didnt even work with me to get to a vehicle that I could afford, I just left there feeling discouraged. My dad had just purchased a vehicle with Bill Masten from Bob Johnson and I decided to give him a call. Bill worked with me so I could lease a brand new vehicle that was in my price range even with the roll over from my current vehicle. I went to Bob Johnson set on a Chevy Traverse but the payments with my roll over were more than I could afford. Bill offered to have me test drive a Chevy Equinox because, he believed it was something I could afford without losing the luxuries of a new car. Without his suggestion I would have left there that day with my old vehicle, discouraged again. Now, because of Bill and the amazing customer service I received I am in a brand new 2019 Chevy Equinox. I will be back in three years for my Traverse and every three years after that to renew my lease term with a brand new vehicle each time! I cant thank you enough!
Dealer part is great. Vehicle service is horrible. Ryan has great customer service but the other old guy is the worst. I got an oil change with multi-point inspection and they messed something up where my heater blower was making a very loud rattling noise. I called and brought it back in but they wanted me to pay to have the mistake that they made fixed, so Im obviously not returning for service there anytime soon. My family member had also got an oil change there the month before and they didnt put on the oil filter on all the way so oil was leaking slow and continuously from the bottom, which of course had to be taken back to be fixed again. Waste of time and money, I would rather have it done right the first time.
Ive never written a review for any reason but I felt compelled to this time. All I can say is that GM is not the GM of old. I bought a Colorado that currently has 4200 miles on it and the torque converter in the transmission has failed twice. The dealership will not fix it a second time since GM is not confident in the replacement and will not authorize the warranty. I was told that the GM is currently working on permanent fix that will be completed by the end of first quarter 2019. I understand that its an engineering problem that is occurring on a large scale and the transmission needs to be redesigned but meanwhile my truck is sitting in my garage. The fact that GM along with Bob Johnson is not offering any relief in the way of a trade, buy back or loaner is the reason I wrote this review. They are basically saying screw you and wait until we can fix it correctly. This is the last General Motors product I will ever purchase. Ive owned 10 new vehicles in my lifetime and this is by far the worst dealership and manufacturer Ive ever dealt with.
Communication with this company is less than stellar. We had our car inspected in May, 2019. When I went to renew the registration it indicates the car is not inspected. Although I have a receipt that indicates the car is inspected and I have a sticker. Clearly the inspection sticker has not been validated with the DMV. After conversing with Kathy at Bob Johnson it was determined they would inspect the car so I could renew the registration. When my husband got to Bob Johnson, as a priority according to Kathy, they refused to inspect the car without us paying for a second inspection. Really, how is this our fault. This is not our first instance of poor communication with Bob Johnson. After having purchased the last 2 cars from them and thinking because they are local it would be very convenient, we will not be going back. Very frustrating and lots of wasted time. Apparently our time is not of concern to them.
Terrible service department, they are liars and cheats. I bought my truck from Bob Johnson on 104, but was having it serviced here because its closer to my home. (I initially went in to look at trucks here but the sales staff was less than helpful, and therefore almost overlooked Bob Johnson entirely if it wasnt for a buddy who recommended the location off 104, I have since brought 5 people in to that location.) The last time my I took my truck to this location (Avon), it was for an oil change, tire rotation, and inspection. Upon arrival, I was told I was next so it should not be too long. My truck was taken in, and I didnt see it again for 3.5 hrs. The guy apologized for the wait, and told me my truck failed inspection due to flickering taillights, to which I informed him that this was not a flicker but a modulated pulse that flashes for 3 seconds before going solid. Its a common taillight modification to increase visibility, one that I have had on all my vehicles including my motorcycles for the last almost 20 years (Ive also seen it on many others including emergency vehicles) and its never been a problem. To which he replied that he had called the NYSDMV, and spoke to someone who had confirmed for him that it was in fact illegal so he was sorry but he wouldnt pass it. But because my truck was inspected that day he would have to charge me for the inspection anyway. Upon leaving, I called the NYSDMV, and finally after being transferred several times, spoke to a woman who stated that she was the supervisor in charge of vehicle inspection. After explaining my situation, she said she wasnt aware of any phone call placed to her office that day pertaining to this issue. She also said that she was aware of modulated or blinking taillights, and as long as they go solid and remain solid until deactivated they are perfectly legal and passable, so the person I had spoken with was incorrect. (I was fuming after that call) I then, later that same day, took my vehicle to another mechanic and had it inspected, with no snags or problems. I have a friend who does business with this location with no issues, but I refuse to go there ever again, and make sure all who I talk to about Chevy dealers know what I went through here. Sorry for the lengthy read, thank you for hanging in there till the end.
If I could rate this place a no star, I would. My pregnant wife got her inspection and her tires aligned there. After the alignment, she got her car and every time she pressed the brake her car would immediately pull left, and I mean a HARD left. Turns out the tie rod was bad and needed to be replaced even after they supposedly test drove the vehicle, which I have doubts about. I will post a picture of the rotor and brake pads shortly after passing inspection. So I guess if you want an easy pass at an overpriced cost and a bit of risk to you and your family, this is the place.
If you are as unfortunate as me and bought the excess wear and tear for your lease start calling them now. I am now 2 and 1/2 months into trying to get them to pay what they owe to GM financial . I am on the 4th manager George who like the rest CAN NOT TELL ME when they are getting paid.I was told by two people not to pay the bill until they figured out how to pay them . Unfortunately I took their advice . Now it is on my credit report. Not quite the Just tell GM financial Bob Johnson sold you the excess wear and tear and you will be all set they told me .
The only reason I’m giving two stars is because the car dealership was in good shape and because two of the people there were nice. We were going to get a vehicle and the percent came back from the bank at 4.25 percent and bob johnson lies and said it was 6 percent trying to get more money out of us. We found out the truth by going to esl ourselves... don’t trust them they are conniving.. they even kept flipping us back and fourth to different people. We needed up getting a car somewhere else so we called and let them know why we changed our mind about being lied to and they HUNG UP ON US!
I was glad to see my salesman who sold me the car. He acknowledged me, and we had a nice chat. He asked me about the vehicle, and how everything was going. I dont feel like a number at Bob Johnson Chevrolet. Everyone was very polite, and I felt like my time was just as valuable as theres. I liked the waiting area, as I was able to sit and do paperwork and it was CLEAN. I love my new Equinox!
I came in for service today after making my appointment through the Mychevy app and I found out when I got there that the appointment I made didnt actually exist. They did get me in though, probably due to it being just an inspection... Then it was frustrating when I got there trying to find somewhere to park my car.
I asked when I made the appointment for the inspection, if anything else could be done, my car was less than 2 years old. I was told no.One week later I get a call, my free oil change and tire rotation is about to expire, call to make an appointment. The inspection took a long time, I was told because of a problem with the state computer system.
Recently brought my 2015 chevy cruze 1.4t in for service as my warranty was about to expire. Turns out my warranty expired about 3 days before I brought it in, no big deal. My cruze was making some noise under the hood, sounded like a worn timing chain, or a sticky lifter. My cruze also has been acting a bit sluggish at take off and if I needed to pass someone, like a lack of boost pressure. After a couple hours of diag I received a phone call saying that the tech thinks there is a sticky lifter and that I also need a turbo. They said I had an underboost code and would need a turbo, $1500.00 alone. I asked them if they pressure tested the intake system and they said they did. Little did they know I have an associates degree in automotive technology and am currently working as an ASE master tech on semi trucks. I was skeptical at the diagnosis and told them I would be down to pick up my car. I then bought a $40.00 pressure tester and tested my intake system myself. My cruze wouldnt even hold 3PSI of air!! The cruze puts out around 12PSI of max boost. I found a MASSIVE boost leak at the throttle body. I fixed the leak and my intake system was able to hold 20PSI of air. Took my cruze for a test drive and it runs like new, my lifter issue also went away!! Long story short im very disappointed in the service I received. The sales department is excellent, but the service department needs A LOT of work.
The attendant was attentive and very professional. He demonstrated genuine interest in making sure that the vehicle was in truly tip top shape for me to drive. He offered further assistance in the future to ensure that the oil and basic the necessities on the vehicle will continue to be met. I am very grateful. Thank you.
HORRIBLE! I paid 27,000 for a 2013 Chevy Silverado in mid April. It is now June 22 and I need 2 front tires and an alignment. The store manager said they couldnt help me. That I would have to pay for an alignment. They should of had that done when I bought it!!! I have been telling everyone I see not to go to Bob Johnston in Avon. They dont treat their customers right. I filed a complaint with the d.m.v. also. They need to get a new store manager. VERY UN-PROFESSIONAL.
Worst experience ever as far as sales, service and Bob Johnson in general. Pushy sales team, even pushier finance team. On top of this place being horrible General Motors has really dropped the ball on heavy duty pickup trucks, cheap products is what they sell now. The brand new 2019 Chevy Silverado 3500 pickup truck I bought from them had a laundry list problems with it within the first 1000 miles... Bob Johnson did not do anything to help nor did General Motors. They have both lost my business and family/friends business for life. Sold the Chevy and bought a Ram, couldnt be happier with the Ram.

2022-02-24We appreciated your representative, Mark Snyder. He was knowledgeable about the Chevy Malibu. He gave us the facts and answered our questions. He was not overbearing in his )approach. He gave us a reasonable trade-in value for our two 2011 Chevy Malibu s. We were not going to purchase a car that day, but we could not pass by the offer he gave us.We love driving and riding in our new car, 2022!

2022-02-10Okay, so I will say that they were very accommodating to me in terms of providing me with a semi-quiet space in order to take my Zoom meetings. However, it makes zero sense to me how something like rotors can cost my car to fail inspection. This has never happened before - the car has like 60,000 miles on it and is barely used. In my opinion, they were looking for a reason to fail my car for the inspection so that they can charge me an astronomical fee to get everything fixed there because of course - they had to scrape the inspection sticker because it was expired. Ive never experienced anything like this and they ended up charging me $400 additional because of something called a caliper which they claim they couldnt get to the rotors without replacing the caliper. Huh? People warned me about going to the dealership but I didnt listen. Lesson learned. After all of that, I still need to have my upper oil pan fixed and replaced which was initially the only reason I took it there - theyd like me to pay another $700 to do that and when I called my normal mechanic - low and behold its about $300.The ladies were very nice but Im never returning here. Tammy was nice. I dont appreciate being swindled, however, and I also didnt like the fact that Tammy and Shawna were never wearing masks. I guess they just said to hell with the governors decree. I will take my business elsewhere in the future.

2022-02-16Delaney Altidor, Sales Professional was outstanding to deal with. I do NOT want to be told what i want, he didnt attempt to pressure me into anything. i told him what I was looking for and he assisted me in selecting a vehicle, didnt push one on me. He was polite and the entire experience was completely customer orientated. I will continue to do business there and promote them to family and friends. They do business the old fashioned way of the customer is most important. Professionally friendly, just generally a wonderful buying experience.

2022-06-06Service manager was not very friendly , both making the appt and actual service. He forgot the most important request- N.Y. inspection. Tech should have found expiration during his vehicle check.

2022-06-21I came to pick up the car, take the client away, the manager came to meet me, asked how I got there, offered coffee, water, great coffee, other dealerships need to learn from this how to behave with people, the American proverb says “Treat people as you would you wanted to be treated!”

2021-10-02My first experience buying a newer car and financing. The process was smooth and easy from start to finish. Made the decision to pull the trigger on the car on Friday afternoon and took possession of the car on Monday! Most everything was handled via text and then phone, which was fantastic as I live 45 minutes away. Salesman Cole was friendly and helpful, answered my questions and applied NO pressure. Garth from finance was also really great. He explained things clearly and worked to get me a great rate. The in-person paperwork was well organized and quick. I was out the door in a half hour or less. Im very happy with my purchase and experience!
