I HIGHLY RECOMMEND BOLT!! EXCELLENT SERVICE!! FAIR PRICE! You dont feel like you are being taken advantage of here, like you might at shops, especially if you are a woman. Long story short: I was interested in buying a used car off a friends grandma. The car had been sitting in a garage for over 3 years, which could lead to a number of problems. Spoke to Adam at Bolt. He completely understood my situation - I only was going to buy the car if it could be brought back to life for a reasonable amount of money. His communication was clear and forthright. I really felt like I could trust him. No work was done unless I fully understood why it was needed and unless I expressly approved of it. He didnt do or recommend any services that he easily couldve charged me for; instead he only did the things that were vital. In the end, I got myself a good used car, and with Adams help at Bolt, its working splendidly. I dont think you can go wrong with Bolt.
The guys at Bolt was great. Unlike most shops I was able to walk into the garage and look under the car (more should do this) the guys were very informative. I came in from out of state and was treated like a person not price tag. I highly recommend these guys as they focus on your car needs and not making a buck
Ive been taking my car to Bolt for about two years now, and Adam and Justin are the best! Theyre super flexible and accommodating, and I know my car is in good hands whenever I leave it with them. Ive been recommending them to everyone. Wouldnt take my car anywhere else!
THIS WAS A NIGHTMARE of an experience!!!.. My brothers car broke down leaving DCC. One of the ball joints broke off releasing the control arm and left the car immobile. With some difficulty we had to towed it Bolt mechanics since it was the closest shop. At first the owner Adam seemed genuine and honest later to find it certainty wasnt the case. After a quick look at the car the estimate was between 500-$1000. Seemed a little high but okay. I told him to go ahead and start tomorrow. Giving me some time to weigh my option since the care is barely worth $1500. An hour later he gives us the final price at $1680!! For a ball joint and aliment and some other meticulous issues. My father being a mechanic for 25 years pleaded with the man assuring him this was unreasonable. After finding an honest shop nearby we had the car transferred. But that was after Adam charged us $380 for doing NOTHING!!! Just to look at it and put it on a lift. The Mechanic we brought it to next was of course cheaper.. $600 cheaper. And didnt involve the amount of work first estimated. either they are price gauging or just really do not understand what they are doing. I wish I could give the a Zero star review. Because I would wish this experience on my worst enemy. BEWARE!!!
Adam and Justin are amazing.My 05 Grand Cherokee needed a fair amount of repair all of which I feared would be not only pricey but time consuming. We found Bolt on Yelp and gave them a call. Adam was able to get our parts in and all of our repairs done next day while also explaining clearly what needed fixing, being completely transparent about pricing, completing the repairs swiftly and taking the entire process from being something I dreaded to being a pleasant afternoon that left me feeling safe and secure about my vehicle.Im so grateful for Adam and Justins hard work and that Bolt is here any time we need them, Im definitely a customer for life.
Adam and Justin were amazing! I brought my 2001 Honda Accord that I recently got from a buddy of mine and the car was literally smoking from the engine they saw me right away and fixed the Problem right away turns out it was the radiator among other issues that I will be gladly getting fixed with these guys they were fair and understanding of my budget the car is back on the road and driving great thanks guys for running an honest and straight forward business you are a rare breed keep it up!
I am so happy I found a decent place actually open on a Sunday. Adam was incredibly helpful. He took the time to explain what was wrong with my car and my options. He also picked me when my car was ready. I highly recommend Bolt Mechanics.
Since I got my car a year ago, it has had its fair share of issues. Ive taken it to 5 different mechanics to try and fix issues from loud exhaust to steering wheel shake and each time my problem was never fixed. It started to feel like my car was unfixable or had an issue that required a ridiculous amount of money to fix. After seeing the reviews for Bolt Mechanics, I decided to send the car over to them to see what they would come back with.To make a long story short they were able to fix all my cars issues without breaking my bank account. The estimates they gave me were fair and the price I paid matched those estimates. Justin and Adam called me a few times to update me on the progress, what they were finding, and even sent over pictures so I could see the issues. I really felt like I was in control of the repair process and that my questions/comments werent ignored or glazed over. These guys do thorough work and I cant recommend them to friends and family enough.
I had an oil change done a couple weeks ago. Previous mechanics swore up and down that my Jeep needed synthetic otherwise the engine would be ruined. Cameron, the new guy, provided me with all the options and necessary information to make a decision on what type to choose. Keep up the good work guys!
Had the service engine light aka Money Light come on in my Ford Expedition. Took it to AutoZone to have the code read and was told my O2 sensors where bad. Took it to Advanced auto parts and they said my mass airflow sensor was bad. Both repairs would have cost me 300 bucks to fix. Luckily a friend of mine referred me to Bolt Mechanics! Neither of the two was the problem. Bolt Mechanics found the vacuum leak. Sent me pictures to my phone showing me the problem. Had it fixed and ready for me to pickup exactly at the time they said. Extremely professional and fixed for a fraction of the price! Thank you Adam and Justin!!!
Way over priced. I was quoted from 2 other places nearly $1000 less for the same work. Before I brought it to you I had taken it to another shop. Judging by your bad reviews and the lack of vehicles in your shop and how the garage was completely empty you guys were looking to have a nice pay day with me. 18 hours to do a motor swap on a v6 2wd truck? 9 hours to replace a head... unfortunately your wrong. And you also told me you’d have to buy 2 heads just to replace the one.... again wrong shouldn’t cost $2000 in labor for replacing the head even if it was $800 for the 2 heads and can’t even tell me if a piston is bad or not. Maybe invest into some tools like a scope to be able to see. Rip offs. Adam and his “essentially” lack of knowledge would definitely turn anyone off. Going to tell someone to sell a vehicle because someone doesn’t want to spend $3k to replace a head on a truck lol. Wow and to top it off you guys didn’t even put the bolt that holds the main intake into the throttlebody luckily I pointed that out looking at it before I left. My son is attending college in this area and broke down. I called BOLT out of the blue not knowing them or anyone up there, just googled. They could not have been more helpful, accomodating and friendly. Our car required some additional work which they explained and physically showed to me so we understood the scope of work that was needed. They executed the job perfectly and charge a fair price, then brought the car back to my son at school...too good to believe that service like this exists today. Adam & Justin have absolutely taken the sting out of going to a mechanic as a car novice....they deserve much success and support, tell EVERYONE!!!
Being out of state trying to get a car repaired the only thing we have to go on is a good review. It worked! They did a great job in a timely manner. Even cleaned up the mess that the broken heater core made. That was above and beyond what I expected. Thanks Adam.....

This is a little late, would recommend to anyone. Great service and was very affordable. I thought my issue would cost me 1000 plus dollars but it wasnt what i thought. They showed me the problem didnt treat me like i was just a girl with no clue with what was going on.

Bolt Mechanics were one of the only mechanics open on a Sunday. They took our subaru in and quickly diagnosed what was wrong and explained the problems thoroughly. The repairs were quick and afterwards they provided pictures of the issues that were causing the problems. I would definitely recommend Bolt Mechanics to others! Make sure you schedule an appointment.

HORRIBLE service, bad attitude and a complete waste of your moneyI am so unhappy with the service I received.I went in to fix my steering wheel and the alignment was wayyyyyyyyyy off and to top it all off the horn now do any work. I toke it to another mechanic and they told me that my clockspring is broken. You guys they actually broke my clockspring, I paid almost 800.00 for them to actually break more that wasn’t broken that wasn’t broken to begin with...What a shame. What a shame. This place is very unprofessional.I never right reviews but unfortunately this is was needed of me to do so and warn everyone to not renter thisbshop

I picked them randomly from google being in a new town and not knowing anything and it turned out to be a great find, glad to have a trustworthy mechanic here in town.. i highly recommend calling Bolt Mechanics first and having them do whatever they can for you.

2022-04-16First off I want to say, i recommend this place to any and everyone who wants HONESTY when it comes to repair or diagnostic work. These guys have great communication skills. My first time using them it seemed like the guy was trying to help me diagnose my issue over the phone. This was absolutely strange and foreign to me because most shops don’t really care and would just say”bring it in “. So right off the bat I knew I was dealing with a higher caliber of auto techs. I brang my vehicle and they took a look. NEVER has ANY shop brang me to their shop floor and actually visually showed me what the issue was when they found it. They gave my ride a once over and their bill of health too after completing a belt tensioner repair. I had not gotten up under my car to that point to see any issues etc so it was helpful and neat of them to allow me a complete stranger the ability to do that. I’m a bit of a car enthusiast I’d say but often times I don’t have the tools/knowledge/ or experience required for a particular job. I recommend these guys to anyone in the area I know that needs any type of work done. I’ve brought my brothers car to them and I’m extremely overprotective of him having basically raised him from birth beside my parents😅. Bolt mechanics have fair pricing and typically can get parts on a same day basis. The first time I went there one of them gave me a ride home because my car was going to be down for a few hours. What more could you ask for from a mechanic especially in this area? I guess if I were being pedantic or picky I could say I wish they had a lounge area with. TV BUT those things I’m sure take space and money and I’m sure the cost of entertainment stuff would be passed onto customers like the dealerships tend to do.

2022-01-14I cant thank Adam and Justin enough for helping me with my Chevy. They are very experienced, professional, and honest mechanics. When I came in they were able to diagnose and repair my car for reasonable price and got the job done super quick. I had a water pump and starter replaced and also got a tune up. The customer service is great too, they always responded to my calls and texts right away and they even gave me a ride home when I didnt have anyone to take me.Im keeping these two mechanics for life!!

2022-07-06My car unexpectedly went into Limp mode over Fathers day weekend. Im not super knowledgable about cars, so I reached out to Bolt Mechanics and almost immediately was in phone and text contact with Adam - on the Sunday of a holiday weekend! I was super impressed at their responsiveness. He gave me extremely practical advice (and a few things to try before needing to bring in the car to the shop, which I really appreciated), but long story short I needed to bring my car in to be serviced.Adam and Justin in the office were so gracious to me, thorough with my car, and very to the point with their diagnosis and explanations. My issue? I was overdue for maintenance and basically out of oil. How embarrassing on my part. But they were not even a little condescending about it, and helped me understand next steps with the dealer. I only wish they were closer to me so I could use their services more regularly. Highly, highly recommend.

As someone who knows embarrassingly little about car maintenance, I feel so blessed to have a mechanic nearby who I feel is both honest and professional.Adam always takes the time to explain exactly what is wrong with my car and exactly what they’ll be doing to fix it in a manner that is patient, informative, and not at all patronizing. I’m sorry to say that this level of customer service has been a rarity in my experience, but I’m extremely grateful to have found it at Bolt Mechanics!

2022-01-17Adam let me tow my car to the shop even when they technically werent open. He was extremely communicative, sent me photos of the progress, called me when he had questions instead of my making decisions without my approval. I got my car back and its running good as new. Great service and a great guy. Would reccomend to anyone

2022-05-24On a trip down the Northway (after closing hours, of course), I got a warning message about replacing my brake pads. Not sure as to how much driving I could do before the repair, I called Bolt and got Adam after the garage had closed. He walked through a few diagnostic questions and had me check fluid levels over the phone. He gave me an explanation of how the warning is triggered and made me feel comfortable continuing my trip. I promised to get the repair completed soon to prevent damage to the brake system. I can’t thank Adam and Bolt Mechanics enough for their helpful approach to a driver just passing through town.

2022-05-17My car started overheating while passing through Poughkeepsie. I called Bolt because of the high reviews on Google, and Adam drove to the shop even though it was closed on Sunday so I could drop my car off. He even gave me a ride to the train station so I could get home. Adam was very helpful and did a full inspection of my car even though the overheating was a simple fix, and found that some suspension parts were worn down. Car was repaired very quickly! Would definitely recommend.

2021-04-22Adam and Justin are, in my opinion, very transparent, dependable, and honest. I really like that they take pictures of the problem and show me so that Im aware of whats getting done and why.(I know slim about cars so this detail is somehow comforting.)The prices are reasonable considering youre getting a brand new part and expert service.I am very satisfied with the work theyve done on my car and will continue to use their service.

2021-09-06So pretty much I recently came to bolt since I had foolishly put diesal in my tank. Just after 2 miles of running. Bolt told me that I needed around $1800 worth of repairs in my car.. it’s obvious they tried to take advantage of the situation and my knowledge of cars. Went elsewhere and paid a fraction of that price.. not a good experience.

2021-02-13We had an emergency en route to winter vacation with two little kids and a packed car on a Saturday at noon when everyone is closing. Adam and his team saved the day! Not only did they stay late, he ordered the parts before we arrived. The shop was clean and pleasant and Adam even had lollipops for the kids. We will definitely be back!
