We selected Bon Soir to cater our baby shower and it was the best decision we made! They offer a wide range of food options and packages at various price ranges. We opted for brunch and everyone at the shower raved about the assortment and abundance we had. They delivered on time and setup swiftly. Communication with Jeff was easy and he made this portion of the planning a breeze. Highly recommend Bon Soir!
Bon Soir was one of several caterers recommended by our wedding venue. We diligently contacted them all, deciding ultimately to go with Bon Soir because they had glowing reviews and offered the best value. We were not disappointed! The passed hors d’oeuvres were abundant—multiple people told us they started turning appetizers away towards the end of the cocktail hour because they were already full. Very importantly, the food the day of the wedding was as good as it was at our tasting. We received so many compliments, both immediately following and nearly 2 months later. The staff working the event was obviously experienced and worked seamlessly throughout the night. I highly recommend Bon Soir for your special events!
Jeff and his team are simply amazing! We had a wonderful time planning the menu with Jeff, and he proved to be an important asset into the whole wedding process. I was very confident the day would be smooth sailing under Jeffs advice and years of experience.The day of the wedding couldnt have been more perfect. We were introduced to the captain, Victor, who took such great care of us. You know youre in good hands when the catering staff stops you from entering the reception for a few minutes to eat (the amazing!) appetizers. I never felt in want of anything, things simply just happened.Our guests commented multiple times on the amazing food and service during the reception. In fact, the other day a friend mentioned to me (again!) how delicious the BBQ was—and (as a Texan!) I have to agree.We would hire Jeff and his team again in a heartbeat. The food was incredible and the service was exquisite. I feel really lucky to have had hired them, everything was just so easy.
Jeff at Bon Soir caterers personally saw to it that our sons Bar Mitzvah weekend was delicious and ran smoothly with his knowledgable staff. The food was plentiful and I received raving comments about the taste! He kept us within our budget, was thoughtful, committed and genuinely excited about our event. We chose Bon Soir to cater our wedding reception at the Hudson River Yacht Club this past October and they exceeded our expectations. We would highly recommend them to cater any event as the quality of the food was excellent. The staff were exceedingly helpful and made the planning easier than we could have imagined. We used Bon Soir for our wedding in Prospect Park in April 2016. We couldnt have been happier. Jeff clearly has extensive experience, especially with our Picnic House venue, and he was such a help to provide insights on the layout -- even in some cases saving us money, like when I thought I wanted to hang bistro lights but he rightfully pointed out that most of our reception would be before sunset. :) Most importantly, the food was AMAZING and we still have guests talking about it. One actually texted me during the reception best wedding food ever. We had a full barbecue spread, and Jeff provided expert advice on all the dishes we should supplement with to make sure that all dietary preferences were taken care of. The service that night was great, and everything came off according to the timeline we talked about. All in all, we had nothing to worry about with Bon Soir, which let us have the best time ever at our reception. Thank you Jeff and team!!

Catering baby shower last Saturday. Excellent service, great tasting food, artisan presentation. Everything was just perfect. My guests were impressed and some asked for information.
Jeff Riley and his staff at Bon Soir outdid themselves once again on May 2, 2018 at Kingsborough Community College. It was our annual Presidents Donor Recognition reception with 100 guests in attendance. The passed hors doeuvres were superb and the presentation outstanding. The staff and service were impeccable. The stationary food platters were beautifully designed and extremely tasty. The variety of the passed and stationary offerings were impressive and delighted the crowd. I highly recommend Bon Soir Caterers for any event large or small.
We couldnt recommend Jeff and his team at Bon Soir more highly. They catered our daughters wedding this weekend at the Boathouse in Prospect Park. The food, drink and service were exemplary! All our guests raved about the filet, salmon and sides. The staff are incredibly!

I cannot say enough good things about Jeff & his staff. I had Bon Soir catered my granddaughters Sweet 16 at The Picnic House and there was absolutely nothing but compliments on from beginning to end.The food was phenomenal, and everyone remarked on how delicious it was. We ended up working with Bon Soir under unusual circumstances. The exclusive caterer of our venue, the Prospect Park Boathouse, unexpectedly shut down, leaving dozens of couples hanging (and without their deposits...). Bon Soir stepped in and saved the day.Our wedding was 7 weeks after we got that news, so we had a little bit more time than other couples to get everything sorted out, but from what Ive heard, every wedding went off without a hitch - ours included. Jeff was great in working with us to make sure we would get at least what was promised to us by the former caterer. And in fact, we were even able to work with him to provide our own liquor for the event, which was an added bonus for us.As for the food, it was seriously good. Not just wedding good, but genuinely good stuff. Our guests raved over it. We had salmon and chateubriande beef, and the beef was SO tender. That is seriously impressive when serving food for so many (we had 131 people). And the cake, which I believe they provided through Ladybird Bakery, was out of this world. I truly believe the food we got was MUCH better than what we would have got with the original caterer, so you cant beat the value.The only downside was that Jeff could be hard to get ahold of, and sometimes his emails werent exactly clear. We had to cut him a break here though, since he was in the midst of pulling off so many last-minute weddings.All in, if you want a caterer that provides excellent food, fantastic service and who truly cares about the business and ensuring your wedding is perfect, look no further than Jeff and Bon Soir.
We had our wedding catered by Bon Soir and they were amazing. Our guests loved the food & the service was impeccable. 2022-06-22Bon Soir catered my daughters bat mitzvah and did a magnificent job. Jeff was terrific to work with, helpful about getting the event within our budget, his staff was tops, the set-up gorgeous and the food terrific. Our guests raved. 2022-05-03Bon Soir has been a part of my family for many years. Jeff Riley is the owner. His food is superb. He is a perfectionist in every detail if you use his services. 2021-07-20Hosted a college graduation party this past weekend for family & friends and wow what an amazing job Jeff and his staff did for us. Phone calls and text messages from guests congratulating me on such a beautiful party, complimenting the food and service. Jeff was super attentive and guided me making all the right choices. He gave me excellent advice cautioning me I was over ordering, he wasn’t concerned about making money but had my best interest in mind. The servers did a great job making sure all my guests needs had been met. I opted for passed appetizers which were delicious, plentiful and different. A friend commented they wanted to have a party and have exactly the same menu, can’t think of a better compliment. We had a great experience and it was a pleasure to do business with Bon Soir Caterers at the Hudson River Yacht Club. Looking forward to my next celebration and joining up with Jeff again.

2021-11-02Jeff and the entire team at Bon Soir Caterers are the real deal seasoned players. We chose them to cater our wedding at the Prospect Park Picnic House this past October over any of the other preferred caterers because of their excellent communication, glowing reviews and renowned expertise. And we wouldnt have had it any other way. From their professionalism, experience, attention to detail and warm hospitality, Jeff helped make our wedding day one of the best days of our lives. My husband is a chef and I am a caterer so we know how much hard work goes into putting together an event like this and food is incredibly important to us. Jeffs passion, humor and expertise left us feeling confident we wouldnt have to worry about a thing, and it was true. He is a gem! Their adherence to safety protocols helped make us feel very safe. Even when there were some hiccups like things not showing up on time, we had absolutely no idea because Jeff took care of everything. They really went above and beyond. The presentation, the food, the guidance in the entire planning and production of the day was made so easy because of Bon Soir. The event staff were fantastic, upbeat and professional, and if you are lucky enough to have the Bon Soir team cater your event please show your gratitude through smiles and generous tips because they truly go above and beyond. This business can be grueling work and Jeff is not only an exceptional caterer but he absolutely loves what he does and that love and care really shines through. Our wedding guests are still calling us to rave about how delicious the food was and how it was one of the best parties they have ever been to in their lives! That was one heck of a party! 2021-06-26Bon Soir Caterers are by far one of the best caterers I have ever dealt with. We had a school retirement party at the Hudson River Yacht Club with Bon Soir as the caterer. The planning of the party with the professional staff was the easiest planning I ever did. Every tray of food that we picked was absolutely delicious. The next day I was receiving texts and calls telling me what a great time they had, that the food was so good and how courteous the staff was. Highly recommend Bon Soir Caterers.

2021-08-24I hosted a small bridal shower for my son’s fiancé and despite the size of my event, Jeff was great in helping me to put a menu together. The food was outstanding, everyone was raving about it. Everything was beautifully done and very fresh. The tea sandwiches were delightful and all the salads and appetizers were delicious. Those shrimp and avocado toasts, yum! I couldn’t have been more pleased. Thank you Jeff, I hope to be able to host another event with you in the future!

2021-09-24Im in a new role at an independent school who caters a yearly event with Bon Soir Caterers and my experience working with Jeff and his team was fantastic from start to finish. They were professional, responsivene, flexible with all the COVID issues and I had nothing but courteous interactions with everyone.BUT- the most AMAZING thing was the food. The food was absolutely SCRUMPTIOUS. I dont get super excited about BBQ unless Im down south or in other parts of the country, but everything was absolutely delicious. It also felt like fancy BBQ that tasted absolutely amazing and the presentation was very elegant as well, so that it works for a more formal event.I dont know what they grill their hotdogs on -but SO many of the folks in attendance said they were the best hot dogs they had ever had. For those with a more sophisticated palate, the grilled chicken with hints of lemon and herb was also to-die-for. And they provided a lot of vegetarian options not to mention absolutely delicious desert ,and fruits and veggies and sides.Additionally, the staff was on time, and super helpful with set up and breakdown at the location where we hosted the event. They were also professional and courteous.This was a work event but I am considering using them for personal party planning in the future because there was something for everyone and I still think about how good the chicken and those veggies were.I HIGHLY recommend them!

2021-06-22Jeff and his team are by far the absolute best caterers I have used for a large event at my home. Jeff is extremely patient and responsive and worked with me to plan a menu for my celebration. Everything was planned and executed flawlessly with zero stress. Food was beyond delicious. Staff showed up in advance and were set-up and ready to go before guests arrived. This is the first event at my home that I actually really enjoyed because I wasn’t worried about a thing. Staff kept flow going and by end of night had cleaned up meticulously. I’m looking forward to my next celebration with Bon Soir! This is now my go-to caterer for it all.

2021-07-09I live in upstate NY, but recently needed a caterer for a small gathering in Brooklyn. Having no familiarity with the area, I used venue recommendations and called a number of local caterers. Several days later, I called them all back again. After some time went by with no response to any of my calls or messages, I expanded my search to caterers a little further away. Not 20 minutes after leaving a message at Bon Soir, Jeff called me back.Not only was he exceptionally responsive, but he was incredibly helpful as well. He provided recommendations for food, then went out of his way to suggest possible locations for our gathering that would be accessible and convenient. He emailed me written instructions for his suggested places and even provided a map and driving directions for the route to his office that would have the least traffic. Words cannot express my gratitude for his professionalism and kindness. The food was excellent and presented beautifully. I highly recommended Jeff and Bon Soir Caterers.

2021-06-07We just used Bon Soir to cater our sons bar mitzvah at the Queens County Farm Museum on Saturday, and they were fabulous. Jeff Riley (who owns the company) worked with us over several months to figure out the menu and make it as affordable as possible. Ours was a small event (50 people total), but Jeff treated us like we were hosting world leaders. He even helped us negotiate down the price on renting tables and chairs.The caterers themselves were fantastic - they arranged and rearranged the seating three times on the day of the event as we figured out where the sun would fall (it was 93 degrees and the event was outdoors), and they did not complain even once. They served cocktails and hors dheuvres and a buffet, always present when wanted but never in the way. And the food was delicious! No leftover salmon (sad to say), but plenty of pasta salad and dessert, which we have been happily eating twice a day since, and were glad its still there for more.Definitely, go with Bon Soir!
