Love this place! Super friendly/ knowledgeable staff, also met one of the owners who was really nice and helpful as we made selections. Lots of sour gummies and licorice (plenty of gluten/free and gelatin-free options!). They also had a lot of chocolate/sweet candies too. Very clean, fun decoration & vibe. Definitely will be back for more :)
Absolutely amazing and friendly place. I went here on my birthday and all the staff were so incredibly kind, they let me try a large selection of black licorice, all of which were amazing! All of the candies I bought are so incredibly good, especially the salted black licorices.
Always a great experience, especially today. A staff member called to tell me they were out of one candy I ordered. I asked him to sub his favorite sour candy and now I have a new favorite! Truly a gem in the neighborhood.
This place is full of all types of yummy from Sweden. I don’t get there often but when I do it’s going to be a party. I’m absolutely in love with this place.Not only is the decor itself super cute and instagrammable, but they have so many delicious candies!Most people in the USA aren’t huge fans of licorice or salted licorice, but in Europe licorice is a staple most people do love to eat (haribo in Italy has so many licorice options you’d be surprised).If you’re a fan of licorice you’ll find this to be your heaven - they have all sorts of kinds to pick from: sweet, salty, fruity... you’ll have plenty to choose from!If you’re not a fan, don’t worry: you’ll find your fix of chocolate, gummies, jellies, as well as chocolate bars and gum.I’ll definitely be back - and hopefully they’ll open more stores all around the city!

Amazing candy store filled with a huge variety of delicious Swedish candy. If you love Swedish candy, you will not be disappointed. If you have never had it, you MUST go and taste what you have been missing. Owners are friendly and helpful and the shop is well designed (it you are in to that which I am!)
Amazing, chewy, and unique candy! Definitely a fun stop. The staff was very friendly and helpful in introducing us the different Swedish candies, even giving us a few samples. Because of COVID, they could only let one group in at a time, so there was a bit of a line outside.
Yum YumSara has been patient, super friendly and simply amazing. My favorites are the marshmallows (vanilla and strawberry) I never used to care about marshmallows but decided to try the ones from bonbon NYC. After receiving my order, I was so pleasantly surprised at how delicious they were!!!!! Not only the marshmallows but all the candies I ordered. Discovered Bon Bon from a friend who sent a very generous house warming gift. I lived in Sweden and would frequent the video store to get Swedish candy every week. Bon Bons candy is just as fresh as the candy in Sweden. They have an incredible variety to choose from. I will continue to order from Bon Bon because I am a candy freak!

This candy store is the only thing that has brought a smile on my face in the year 2020. The customer service is fantastic, the candy is incredible, the decor just fab. Well, we knew we loved Bon Bon’s product when we ordered it online...but after visiting the NYC store this week, we are officially Bon Bon super fans — because of Sarah! The store itself is absolutely adorable, but Sarah is so joyful and helpful and truly makes you fall in love with the whole experience. Oh, also, the soft serve x daim bar topping = out of this world. 10 stars for Sarah and Bon Bon!
This place is absolutely amazing and you need to go ASAP! The owner is the absolute sweetest man I’ve ever met and made our experience magical. I genuinely felt like I was in Willy Wonka & the chocolate factory. Such an amazing experience I cannot begin to explain. It really made my day:)

I’m visiting NYC from Orlando. I’m a candy shop connoisseur I’ve been to candy shops all over the United States , all over the world. BonBon is easily number one. It FEELS like happiness. I went twice, & both days I was treated like family. The assortment of candy is so different , interesting & delicious. The employees offer samples just fit to your tasting. It’s such a happy place. They follow Covid 19 guidelines & I felt extremely safe. If ever there was a shop that I would compare to Wonka’s factory , this would be the one. I’ll be back everytime I’m back in NYC.Thank you for making my experience unforgettable!
Everything about this place is excellent! From service to the sweets and day specials they like to put on. Basically not coming here is a crime in its self.Even during these crazy times, this shop has been stable serving up treats to the community and working to make the small section of street on front of the shop attractive.Come and bring them your support.

Might be great, I will have to find out on another visit. This time the staff was more interested in their phones than they are customers. How can you stop to text when you have a line waiting to spend money? I will say, management was quick to make contact concerning my experience, which is appreciated. I will give it another try next time Im in the area, and hopefully have a better experience.

BEST CANDY STORE EXPERIENCE EVER. Ive now been to to this spot 4 times and had an awesome experience every single time. The candy is imported from Sweden so it adheres to strict EU food guidelines, and it is also DELICIOUS!!! Im not a big fan of licorice but they have a large selection of real high quality licorice and salted licorice. My favorites so far are the gummy strawberries & eggs, and the cola Ferrari!!!! Fav chocolate is the orange chocolate wedges. Do yourself a favor and check this place out.

This place is great. The candy is fresh, and the staff is really helpful. Little did I know before walking in that the Scandinavians are pretty crazy about their licorice.You got a try some of the saltier licorice. It’s wild stuff.
Our best friends in the LES sent me and my wife a mix bag of sour candies from BonBon a while back and we were hooked. We went ahead and placed an order online of some of our faves from the first order and then a couple new ones to try out. Upon delivery in Atlanta we realized that theyd all melted together into large gummy cubes. It was a major bummer. I reached out to their customer service email to let them know about the issue and Sara promptly responded and told me they were working on new packaging for the summer. She replaced my entire order and even threw in some Sour Strawberries (my favorite) that were out of stock when I originally placed my order. I was blown away by Saras service and BonBon has a new fan for life. Support local businesses!!!
Found them a little before Sockerbit and they have a bigger selection and ship way faster. Candy is amazinggggggg, they also have a lot of packaged candies we’ve been trying one by one like the elderflower flavored Swedish fish ahhhh

Great place. I’m Swedish and somehow they’ve managed to have fresher candy than you can get back home. The people working there are super-cool too. If you’re craving some candy, I’d recommend getting it from BonBon
Bon Bon has a very good selection of Swedish candy including raspberry salt licorice skulls which are difficult to find anywhere else. The store has a lot of personality and their soft serve ice cream with salt licorice syrup and sprinkles is worth many visits.
One of my favorite places to go in new York city, this place is awesome - if you love pick and mix, but with the best candy you can buy in NYC, this is the store for you.Weve been a couple of times in the last week and both times the staff have been awesome, the vibe of the shop is awesome, and the candy tastes great.We will definitely be back.
Fantastic selection of Swedish candy and other Swedish goods. The staff here are always super friendly and genuine. All this stuff is legit and imported from Sweden unlike some other places that sell Swedish style candy that is made elsewhere.

If they offer you licorice don’t be scared, some of it is good even if you think you won’t like it.Great range of different gummies and chocolate. BonBon has the best candy ever!!! I go at least once a week because it is that good. Im also an avid candy consumer so my expertise in the area is incredibly high, and I can validate its the best not only in NYC but maybe the country. They import everything from Sweden, they let you try everything (I think? hey- better to ask forgiveness than permission), and one of the best parts is the really awesome guys running it. They have stayed open late for me on multiple occasions when I simply need candy to fuel my existence. They also deliver all over the city, super late and super quick (theyre on everything too - seamless, postmates, uber eats, etc.). If you dont like candy, go in for the experience - sometimes they have hot dogs. You never know.

This place is awesome! All the wonderful candies I remember from childhood trips to Sweden, with the added benefit of carrying Kalles caviar, Julmust, and more! The staff is amazing, too. They literally chased me down the street to give me back my credit card that I accidentally left there!

The layout of the store is cute, too much licorice, so confusing with so many new things to figure out what to buy, pretty expensive for a pound of candy. Staff are friendly, but the transition experience to engage Swedish culture wasn’t easy to navigate or pleasant. Wish there was more chocolate, fizz candy, kid friendly, and affordable.

Just left this delightful store with my mom and sister. From the moment you walk in you are whisked away to a glorious confectionary delight. With the lovely owner/manager (not quite sure who:) greeting you with samples in a top hat, to the overall jovial environment; its nothing short of a whimsical experience. And as someone who has had a deep love for candy stores since she was a child, the candy itself is fresh and delicious. Unlike economy candy on the lower east side, though I do appreciate their long-standing neighborhood position, I always wonder just how long the candy has been there? Here, at Bon Bon, everything was so fresh and yummy, there wasnt one thing we didnt enjoy. As someone who has lived on the Bowery for over thirteen years I hope this store keeps growing in popularity and bringing joy as it did to us this afternoon to young and old alike!

I have ordered twice from this place . Being an expat Swede I was delighted to find out about this store from one of my kids who had visited in person. My first order was a couple of weeks ago . I ordered one of the mixes and some Singoalla cookies and also the Ballerina cookies . I was impressed that the order arrived the next day . When I opened the box I was very disappointed that I did not get the Ballerina cookies but the chocolate version instead . I figured somebody made a mistake so I swallowed my disappointment since I dont like being a complainer The other items in my order were great and the flavors brought me back to childhood . I was not happy with the high delivery fee but accepted it for a special treat .On Monday this week I put in a second order to celebrate my upcoming birthday. This time I put together my own mix with mostly chocolate based candy. The order arrived in a timely fashion . I got a notification that the order had been delivered on my porch . When I arrived home about an hour later I found the box had been shoved inside our open mailbox. Needless to say ,when I opened the box I was met with a melted mess . Most of the items were half melted and a lot of the pieces were stuck to one another. After a couple of hours in the fridge I was able to salvage some of it. A lot of the candy that was wrapped , especially the Plopp was destroyed because the wrapping was stuck to the chocolate . That was the candy that I was really looking forward to. I had to discard about one third of my order . I sent an email to the owner but have not gotten a response . If I am paying 10 dollars for delivery I expect proper handling . Since the pieces were stuck together and barely edible I did not get the flavor flashback to childhood that I was looking for . I dont think I will order from this place again . If I am ever in NYC I might shop in the store

Found this shop yesterday when I happened to pass by ..... What a great place! Great range, reasonable prices and super friendly staff! Highly recommend to those who know the homesickness or are just sweets.

2022-02-11This candy shop is a cute place! The interior was beautifully designed, and sooo picture worthy! I loved going inside and seeing all the Swedish imported sweets and goodies, honestly theyre fantastic! They dont taste like the American kinds full of added sugar and other chemical additives. You do get all the great flavor regardless! One may say $18lb for a pound of Swedish bulk sweets are a lot, but honestly the quality and taste were amazing. The service was great too and the man who was helping me really knew his stuff and was friendly. I cant wait to come back here when im feeling in the mood for Swedish sweets!

2022-02-07Review is based on 2 separate components: the Sunday Swedish hotdogs and the actual candy shop.(1) the Swedish hotdog on Sunday’s are bomb. It’s delicious and different and worth trying once. It’s quite pricey for it being a small hot dog ($6) but it’s really good. The guy serving is great with his service and super approachable. 5 stars!(2) the actual candy store is okay. They have good COVID protocol and make sure the shop doesn’t get bombarded with people at once by keeping a line; however, the candy is dry and hard on ones that haven’t been sold for a whole. The candy has aired so the marshmallows are hard and slightly stale. The 2 glad working are indifferent in their job and although they answer questions and are attentive - they don’t seem to enjoy their job. About $20 for a lb of candy.Missing sockerbit as they were great.

2022-05-20The employee that helped us was so wonderful! They gave us recommendations and had a really bright & friendly attitude. I would come back just for the hospitality alone, but the candy is also great. Definitely recommend the chocolate covered marshmallow mushrooms!

2022-05-09I’ve been going here for years! The candy is so good, way less sweet than American candy and it’s so fun to eat. I tried the hot dogs today for the first time (Sunday tradition) and it was so good! The people that work here are so awesome and nice too

2022-07-08They have a semi-decent assortment of black sweet and salty licorice and some other Swedish candy, though unfortunately some important classics are missing from their lineup. Despite this it’s definitely still worth a visit though, but be prepared to pay hefty prices for your Lördagsgodis.

2022-04-30Not going to lie. I wasnt expecting the candy here to be unbelievable. This cute Swedish candy shop offers a variety of sweets and the staff here are super friendly.They charge by the pound so why not grab a scooper and go to town!!

2022-05-21Excellent selection of Swedish candies. You scoop so you can mix and match and get wherever you like. They have plain candies, sour candies, salty candies, and other foreign candies. If your looking for gelatin free candies they have a huge selection. Most swedish candies are gelatin free.

2020-11-15Swedish Hotdogs on Sundays are a game changer. We’ve been coming for candy but this is the first hotdog we’ve had. I was recommended the Original with the Works and was absolutely impressed.The candy on its own is next level. Swedish sour candy is my favorite. The lips and skulls... tasty!
