Tapas style menu items that were served fresh and hot! The sangrias were delicious as well . The staff were pleasant, eager to offer assistance. My date and I ordered a few items: Garlic shrimp dish, Dates with blue, almonds wrapped n bacon, potato fries dish, mushroom and ham inspired crochets.
I love and seek out many Jose Andres restaurants. After recently experiencing Bazar Meats in Las Vegas I was excited to try Boqueria in Manhattan near Times Square while traveling there for a work convention. Bonus - NYC was celebrating Tapas week so this choice was perfect.I dined there alone and the bar and made friends with the staff and patrons surprisingly quickly! It was a wonderful experience. I would usually dine here with a bigger group so we could each try a variety of different items. The solution for one is definitely the top line chef’s tasting menu! It was &65, featured “black pig” you may have eaten in Portugal or Spain and it’s amazing - worth every penny. So much food arrived that I could not possibly eat it all.The other favorites were the perfectly crisp potatoes, magical shrimp dish, & that ridiculously wonderful hot chocolate dipping sauce for the churros - I’m obsessed! The spicy shishito margarita was also delicious!
Good patio but I recommend you to sit inside especially at the bar. Patatas bravas was great. Escalivada was delicious but way too salty, I’d order one more if it wasn’t! Pinxtos morunos was AMAZING. Lamb was cooked perfect and the salsa verde was on point! Croquetas de Jamon was on point but I would expect more quince purée for sure, I was barely tasting it. For the Paella we order small. If you order 4 tapas and planning to eating dessert at the end small would be fine. Paella was delicious and a lot of fresh seafood on top but some parts were burnt. I know it should be a little overcooked and crispy but these parts were charcoaled. Churros with dulce de leche was perfect! We also got a pitcher of sangria. Overall great experience. A bit pricey but definitely worth it. Lastly, Carlos was amazing and superb guy. Explained everything and suggested some good food💯
Food is good but quantity for the price is severely lacking. We got a few tapas including the patatas bravas (fried potatoes with an aioli), escalivada (eggplant and yogurt dip served with crispy bread), and an arugula salad. The potatoes were excellent, perfectly fried and drizzled with such a tasty aioli. The eggplant was soft and lightly seasoned, allowing the veggies to shine and give a rustic flavor. The arugula salad with raw fennel and Asian pears was nice, crisp, and refreshing. Never had raw fennel before and that flavor is wonderful.Few drinks as well (couple draft lagers and a mixed vodka drink).Overall good food, just wish the quantities were a little more!
The Boqueria experience was WELL worth it, and perhaps the jamon iberico was the one thing we all thought was not.The servers brought in plates upon plates of tapas, all fun little bites for our group of 5 to share, ending the feast with a paella plate that we could barely finish and 2 churros per person.Favorites of the night included the patatas bravas (couldnt stop eating them), the mushroom croquette and the bacon wrapped dates.Really enjoyed our meal and it was PACKED inside! Would definitely return for a fun, filling meal.
One of the best tapas restaurant that I’ve been to. I highly recommend the patatas bravas, croquetas cremosas & gambas al ajillo. The place is super cute as well and has a great vibe. Plus, our server, Maria L, was very attentive and friendly as well. Will definitely be back!
Nice dining indoor area, great food, and friendly service! Boqueria has never let me down ☺️🙌🏼Two of us ordered three savory tapas and a dessert and felt very fulfilling.TORTILLA ESPAÑOLA - Traditional Spanish omelet of organic eggs, confit potatoes. It’s kinda like a cold appetizer.ALMEJAS EN SALSA VERDE - Manila clams, garlic and parsley sauce, fresh herbs, grilled country bread. The parsley sauce with lemon was so flavorful. For me clams were a bit overcooked though.PULPO A LA PLANCHA - Seared octopus, Manzanilla olivada, olive oil crushed potatoes. A must must must order! Octopus was cooked perfectly. So tender. Mashed potatoes were creamy and buttery. Love it!CHURROS CON CHOCOLATE - Traditional fried dough dusted with cinnamon sugar served with thick hot chocolate. I just cannot say no to desserts. Freshly fried crispy churros ended the dinner well.
Boqueria is always my easy go-tos, which I do not have many. Easy go tos consists of the following categories:1. Ambience2. Great happy hour deals3. Food is yummyBoqueria always fulfills the three. The staff members seemed to be a mix of newer to veterans (some had to check with the manager for some questions I had), but nevertheless always accommodating and friendly. I like Boqueria here and also by the Chelsea area.
I came here on a Tuesday evening for a light dinner before a show. I chose to come here on a spur of the moment decision, so I didnt have reservations. The host was a little curt with my party but was able to seat us at the chefs kitchen. Ive never sat at the chefs table before and I must say that I had a great time watching the staff prep the different dishes.I got the ensalada cogollos, pulpo a la plancha and the churros. The salad was fresh and I lived the addition of mint that added just the most subtle kick into each bite. The salad was a little salty for what Im used to, but the hazelnuts were probably the star of the dish. I almost wish that I could order a side of the hazelnuts to snack on.While sitting at the chefs kitchen I noticed that a lot of people are ordering the pulpo a la plancha. I was super excited for this dish, but when I bit into the tentacle it didnt have the soft texture that I was expecting, it almost tasted just slightly overcooked. Ending the meal with churros is always a good idea. There were five piece in my order and I loved every single one o the churros.Overall, if come back for a nice atmosphere nearby the theater district before a show.
Good place to order many small dishes, get a pitcher of sangria or bottle of wine, and chat with friends.Food is generally good here, although generally over salted. I suppose restaurants do this so youd order more drinks but it was extreme, especially on the steak which was on the border of being inedible.Service was bit of a mess. They did not pace the food. When you order so many dishes you want them bring them out few at a time. Instead they came in 2 spurts and we didnt have enough room at the table. Related to that, when they took away our cheese and cold cut plate we still had quite a bit of stuff on and and we asked them to put it on a smaller plate for us so we can fit it on our table. Well, they tossed our remaining food.
Perfect, had the El Mediodia which gives you peppers, a selection of 2 tapas from a list of 8 options and 2 churros for desert for $35 per person which is incredible value for the quality of the food.Flawless food, flawless service, good value and I left with the exact level of satisfaction you want from a meal. Not too full and completely satisfied.
The place is really good for a large group handout or meeting. Went over there last week with colleagues for a team lunch. It stays pretty busy during the lunch hours so you might want to make a reservation beforehand. Their tapas menu offers a wide range of delicious dishes. We were pretty hungry so didn’t get to take pictures of the food properly but they were presented pretty nice. The food and place is instagram worthy so you can take some great clicks for your social media as well. The price is also reasonable comparing to the food and environment.
I am not sure why I haven’t reviewed this place but is one of my favorites ever. Love the taps selection definitely is very authentic take it from someone that lived in Barcelona and knows authentic tapas ! They used fresh ingredients l. Also the seafood paella it took us 35 minutes to get it but is made to order. I love the the tortilla española, patatas bravas, pimientos de padron. Get a Cava and enjoy!
Unfortunately I wasn’t able to take any pictures but I had to write a review about Boqueria. The space is well decorated and I love the fact that they have an open kitchen. My friend an I opted to sit at the bar near the open kitchen and I was truly impressed with the cooking and care the chefs put into the meal. There are tons of tapas and a few large plates. We ordered the steak, chicken, potatoes and sangria. The food is delicious! I recommend going to Boca for date night for sure! Also, the AC hotel has a cute rooftop as well.
Good Spanish tapas restaurant very close to Times Square and a great experience if you want feel the real Spanish flavour. The tapas are a bit small but it is nice to be able to taste different dishes. The “tortilla de patata” and the “Tabla de quesos” are a must for sure but I am sure that all of them are worth it!!!
I’ve been eating at Boqueria for over 3 years now and it never disappoints. The food and drinks are absolutely delicious and the vibe is always awesome. Only reason this did not get 5 stars is because they changed the steak cut recently. The original hanger steak with the red peppers was more flavorful and tender. The current steak simply does not compare. Really hope you guys bring it back!
Nice place and decoration, staff friendly and polite. Bit over price. The octopus was great, smash potatoes tasty and flavorful. Spanish Beer selection amazing. The discordant note was the seafood paella. It takes more than a hour from order to serve, the rice was extra dry, crispy and burn in some spots of the pan.
For those who love Tapas dishes to share with friends, Boqueria is a recommended restaurant. The atmosphere in Boquria is very pleasant and with a wide selection of tasty dishes. Everything we ordered did not disappoint. The sangria was cold and thirst quenching.Highly recommended for a social meal.
Really wanted to like this location, but all the dishes fell short. Octopus was tough and dry. Gambas was very fishy (I dont mind fishy, but this was not-fresh-fishy), paella was lacking in paella flavor. Lamb meat ball was great, but a tad salty. They were all edible, so we did finish most of them, but it wasnt great. Good tapas bar is hard to come by even in the city, but I still wont be coming back to this pace. Its a shame because I love the service and atmosphere. :-/
Such a great place for any occasion. We went here with our friends for a birthday celebration. We got late for an hour after hour reservation and the hostess still gave us a table. It was near the kitchen, we were watching how the dishes are cooked. It was an amazing experience. Food and service are exceptional. Recommend this place and hope to visit again
There are normally 3 things that are important to me when I step into a restaurant so, the ambiance was nice and everything seams comfortable however after spending 1 he on the high chairs with your feet dangling you stop enjoying your meal ( chairs really uncomfortable). The food is a bit hit or miss by far the absolute worse dish ever is the paella, super salty, and the sea food not properly clean mussels had sand in them and a horrible taste. This was more of a seafood rice with not so fresh ingredients. We were lucy that the service was absolutely impeccable and promptly offer to replace the paella with a steak which although delicious not what we were looking for.
Absolutely amazing, the servers were so helpful, patient and recommended exactly what fit our tastes. The plates were very filling, and the flavors were spectacular. By far the best meal Ive had in NYC, and absolutely the best value. Definitely try the lamb skewers and patatas, theyre to die for!
Was ok. Food felt overpriced. The Marguerita with the pepper in it saved the day. Not a fan of how both of us were required to get the meal that cost $62 per person when only one of us wanted to try it. That was disappointing. But I drowned my disappointment in margueritas. Compliments to the bartender. But this place isn’t all doom and gloom...the atmosphere was cool. And that huge dinosaur leg was nice to look at. Looked tasty.
Interesting experience but not for everyone . We ordered tasting menu that was very interesting snd every dish was made very well but too mush oil . It is, probably specialty of Basque cuisine, but be prepared for that. Sangria was very tasty and all together it was a very pleasant experience. Do g forget to make reservations.
Its a lovely setting, the food is excellent... especially the asparagus. Nice wine selection. The service is a bit more uneven than I would like...greeter was friendly and professional, wait person not so much. But we are coming out of a pretty traumatic year so need to cut everyone a little slack. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend le Boqueria.
We have visited this restaurant twice now during visits to the city. This restaurant has a great vibe and some of the best food that I’ve had in the city. We had paella and other traditional Spanish dishes. Each dish was flavorful. They also had a nice selection of sangrias.
From a food perspective and patio environment is excellent and a 5 star rating! We really enjoyed our tapas (patatas bravas, charcuterie board, croquettes) and the decorative ambiance around us.However, when paying for our bill we were overcharged on two of our food items (total of $10. When we ordered our food, we pointed to each dish we wanted to try to avoid a confusion (some menu items have similar names). No apology was give when we caught the mistake on the bill.
Spanish Tapas style restaurant with incredibly delicious food, and a bustling, electric atmosphere. Sangria, Paella, and especially mushroom croquettes are amazing. Only downside is it can feel a little busy/crowded, and assume its fairly pricey. Definite recommend when in NYC.
One of the most disappointing dining experiences I’ve had. For $60 per person, the service was inconsistent and poor. Our server changed 5 times. The food was decent but not remarkable - except for the half chicken which was excellent. We were not warned that the paella would take >1 hr to prep. It came 30 min after the rest of our food. I have been to other locations in the same chain with much better experiences, but this one is mismanaged and uncoordinated.
Feels like I’m in Barcelona. Amazing plates of jámon and manchego 💛 wines were fantastic as well. There’s a cool bar at the entrance with a wonderful vibe and the restaurant extends far into the back. Also got the chuletón a la plancha (steak) but ate it too fast to snag a picture. Clearly I’ll have to go back again just to get a picture 😆Bottom line: Food is very tasty. Highly recommend.
I truly enjoy a nice drink and tapas at boqueria. Employees are consistently nice, helpful and attentive. The hosts do their best to accommodate if you have no reservations. Portions are small and the place is pricey so be aware of that, but the place is higher quality and delicious everytime i visit. For one tapas item and a Margarita, expect to pay $50 before tip per person!
The look of this place calls you in from the street. We did not have a reservation and were still able to get a table outside right away on a Saturday night. Having never been here before, we were a little weary of what to try on the menu. We were not disappointed! The food was fantastic, the waiter was friendly and the atmosphere was adorable
Overall great place. Its a tapas menu! These are small dishes that you share with the table. Its a lot of food and it comes at you fast so you wont have to worry about not being full. We had a very large group and it was great because our waitress Charlene took care of us and had separate dishes for the folks with allergies and there were a lot that night (shell food, gluten, and milk). Everything tastes absolutely delicious! 🤤🤤 the drinks were also made well and really strong. Happy hour is 5pm to 6pm (at least on friday). Personally, I recommended the tequila cocktail. The yellow one (middle option, sorry cant recall the name) was the worst in my opinion and least favorite at our table...for me it was just too much citrus but if youre into citrus then choose that one. We all sat very closely together, but thats the point. This style of eating it about community. You might be wondering why I gave 4 stars and not 5 if I dont have anything bad to say....well despite the strong drinks and getting quite tipsy I did have two main issues.1. Our server insisted on serving our drinks...which sounds ridiculous but with only an hour to drink such a large group it often took quite a while to get a refill and she really didnt like when we served ourselves...so that was kind of annoying2. The bathroom is Hella far...you gotta go to Narnia to relieve yourself...no really, its more ridiculous than my first point...you have to exit the restaurant and go into a hotel and then walk down some stairs...thats quite tricky to do after youve had a few drinks in you...But despite those really annoying things this is definitely a place Id go to again with people I love or people Im trying to bond with! Why no pics? I was too busy enjoying myself to be honest. All I got was a few boomerang for the gram to make my peeps jealous 😂😂
Amazing Tapas, the chefs menu is a really easy way to go if you dont want to choose your own selections, portions are adjusted to the number of covers for your table. Patatas Bravas are a particular highlight but every delicious Ive tried on numerous visits has been to a very high standard. The drink selection and wine list is also very strong. I would recommend to anyone.
We are in NYC to celebrate our 8th anniversary and wanted to try a new restaurant. We were walking and smelled some irresistible food smells wafting from this restaurant so we stepped in and were pleasantly greeted. We were seated immediately in a great booth to watch the kitchen. We looked over the menu (primarily in spanish) but our waitress was more then happy to explain everything. We wanted to experience the chefs menu. We have had weightloss surgery and are only able to eat so much so this would have been perfect for us to share. This was not an option we were told we had to both purchase this option. My husband asked to speak with manager. When Nick came to our table we explained our dilemma. He graciously said I can make your very own tasting. He did this for us without a blikn and we are so very pleased with our experience. The food was phenomenal!!! I really appreciate being heard and treated kindly. Thank you for making our nivht Nick!!!
Food is excellent BUT the service is really bad! very slow; I am not sure if our server was a new hired but definitely you guys need to improve the service specially at lunch time! Most ppl in NYC only have 1 hour lunch at most... We waited 35 mins for our first round of drinks! not even cocktails... just straight up drinks. The 1st appetizer I ordered was the last one to come to the table 12 mins after we finished all the other tapas (rushing). This place has a very nice environment, good food but need some improvement ASAP in their service. Thank you
Wonderful drinks and wonderful food. Always a good place to take friends to when they’re visiting the city. All the drinks are good, but the Sloe Berry Spritz & the Last Train in particular will have you feeling reaaaal good. My favorite plates are the Gambas al ajillo & the pollo rustido, truly shareable plates and so full of flavor!
I came here to have dinner with my wife, her sister and her sisters fiancé, the vibes in the restaurant were good, the service was very attentive, the waitress answered all our questions and recommended some dishes. The cheese and charcuterie board was delicious, the Iberian chorizo was from another world it melts in your mouth, las patatas bravas were one of my favorites they are ideally crispy, and the sauce that accompanies them was delicious. I am not a lamb person but the pintxos morunos surprised me, the carrots with mojo verde and the maiz rustico are not far behind. The pan con tomate was very good and the seafood paella was also delicious. In conclusion, this restaurant exceeded my expectations, definitely recommended for a few drinks and tapas with friends.
We were unable to make a reservation online as the website didn’t work, but turned up early evening anyway, looking forward to a nice tapas meal. There were several tables empty, but the greeting staff barely looked up and as soon as we said we didn’t have a reservation, turned us away. Very unfriendly and rude staff.
Such a stellar place for a preshow dinner.Where do we even begin? The ambiance was super cool! Easy place to do a larger party, work dinner, pre show dinner, or date night. They have a nice open area and the tapas are next level. The plates are all perfect cooked, plated beautifully, and come out quick.Heres what we had (literally not one dish was meh, it was all amazing)- cheese platebroccoli- asparagus- ibirico jamon- lamb skewers- lamb meatballs- shrimp- pallela de Morisco- papas bravasIncredible food! Would absolutely go again!
Similar to another reviewer, my wife and I popped in without a reservation and got one of the best seats in the house facing the kitchen!Walking through the restaurant, you could feel how good the energy is in this place. Our server, Marcelo, was outstanding. From the moment we sat down, we felt welcomed and he gave some excellent recommendations. We ordered a paella which was definitely worth the 45min wait! We also had some incredible appetizers and drinks while the delicious paella was being prepared. We would highly recommend this restaurant and we will definitely be back!
Excellent brunch menu and relaxing, modern atmosphere. The churros exceeded expectations and the chorizo was rich and smokey. You can be seated either at the chef’s table or normal seating - it might be less comfortable at the former, but it is definitely a pleasure watching the chefs cook.
Went to Boqueria W40th St NYC for authentic Tapas and got blown out by how good it was! Our server, Maria L was superb! She assisted us in choosing the right options, sangria, and answered every question we had. My husband has been to Spain and said this place is as good as being there. We met Solomon Shin, the General Manager and he was also pleasant and helped us choose our selections. Since we were in NYC for our anniversary, Solomon provided champagne and Churros to help us celebrate 30 yrs. All in all, we had a fantastic experience at Boqueria W40th St in NYC! Recommended everyone go here and you wont be disappointed. If we ever get back to NYC, we will definitely go back to Boqueria on W40th St!
Love this place! I especially love coming here for brunch! They offer the best brunch deal, pre-fix menu for $45 per person, and let me tell you... it is totally worth it.You walk out of there completely full because although they’re small bites, the food keeps on coming and coming throughout your entire sitting. On top of that, there is an unlimited brunch drinks included with that price for 2 hours, and they do keep them going (not like many places where they delay themselves in getting you your unlimited drinks). We didn’t expect for them to make a grand scene for desert but they did this for everyone, a bit extra but appreciated touch and gesture. It’s always best to make a reservation because this place is always full, especially after office hours, impossible to get in.
The space is stunning, fresh bar ingredients spread though the space. I wish I liked it more. The burger was not the best. The meat although cooked well was tough. The onions were far too salty and the salad tasted dirty. I love a fresh garden salad, just you know, not tasting like dirt.It got a 3 because of the price. Wish I could give it 3.5
Compared to the one in Soho, this place felt more modern and brighter. I was worried before because some people wrote about it being too loud, but it was just as loud as other restaurants in town. Its located next to the lobby of the hotel. Two of us ordered cheese and cured ham plate, octopus, and a pitcher of sangria. They were all really good although I thought sangria wasnt as good as Soho one.
Well, ONE OF THE BEST 🥘 PAELLA EVER. I’ve been tasting paella for years in different restaurants, but here is a MUST to try if you are close to nyc or visiting the city. And I enjoyed looking how they prepare everting; very clean. The price is 3/5-Awesome costumer service- The sangría so delicious. 🍹🍷- Good music, modern place- Lovely entree’s
Glad we had reservations for 4 on a Friday night. This place is packed. We all got the $60 seasonal tasting menu at the bottom of the menu. It was absolutely fantastic. Just as we were starting to get full, they brought out the paella. Thinking we were done, out came the steak and chorizo with fries platter. Unbelievable. This was some of the best and most reasonably priced food we ate in NYC all weekend. Thanks.
Hands down the best Spanish tapas restaurant Ive eaten at outside of Spain. The jamon iberico was pricey but well worth it. The pintxos morunas was especially good with perfectly cooked lamb skewers and a herbal topping that perfectly compliments it. Calamares was lemony with dill. The portion size was generous and the squid ink flavor was present without being overpowering. The gambas al ajillo is available at plenty of other restaurants but the buttery garlicky flavor was just perfection here. Of course their choice of vermut negre offered with the traditional seltzer, olive and slice of orange was just another detail that they got just right. The wait staff were also good with their timing and the manager took the time to personally talk to every table. Overall it was a perfect dining experience!
The signature flavor of Spanish cuisine is its mixture of sweet and savory. The bacon wrapped dates tapas and roasted pork with peach are very much the representation of such unique mixture. The taste is definitely natural to many, but one can experience the exquisite taste by slowly grind through the meat. The crispy potato tapas was a very nice delight where the outer layer was fried just right so that the inside was very soft, also hidden on the bottom of the plate was a hint of chili pepper powder which resembles Sichuan cuisine. Overall, a very nice Spanish tapas restaurant situated just outside of Times Square.
Nice atmosphere. Ive always gone with group of at least 10 and we share the small finger food plates (tapas) in español. Some of our favs are the mushroom balls and dish of potatoes. Those are more for the non meat eaters like me but they have meat of course. The ladies like to order the Sangria for the table too. Always a good time.
Fantastic food, but overpriced for the portions. Small shared plates shouldn’t cost $20-$40 for less than 8 total bites. However, it is important to note that the food here is of exceptional quality. I struggle to give this place a perfect review because it does not present itself as accessible to the normal visitor, rather it presents itself as an upscale restaurant with small plates at high-end prices. This might just be my personal preference, but I for one think tapas should be shareable and economic.
It’s a tapas restaurant but the portions are way too big, a bit smaller than entrees, but way bigger than appetizers.Highly recommend:1) cheese & mushroom croquettes2) olives & ham plate3) grilled octopus4) deep fried potato chunksOk1) green bean tempura - nothing special reallyAvoid1) anchovies - only taste salt2) squid/calamari - 3 pieces of squid and lots of beans and fennel’s3) non-alcoholic cocktail - mine taste like diluted carrot juice
Loved this place that I randomly discovered on my last visit to NYC! I will definitely be back. On a busy Friday night without a reservation, my husband and I were gratefully seated right away at the bar (which I love) and had excellent, fast service. The staff were attentive and friendly, going so far as to say goodnight when our server was leaving and introducing us to the new one - I dont think thats ever happened to me! The food and drinks were amazing, my partner and I had to pare down what we could order on the menu because we wanted to eat it all but would had been poor afterwards. The atmosphere was fun and well designed, I loved the decor and sitting by the kitchen was lively and fascinating to watch them cook. Will definitely return when NYC has recovered
Excellent experienceThe shrimp paella was delicious-Very flavorfulWould recommend to split with a friend since it is a large portionWaiter Did warn us that it would take 30 mins to prepare, which was fine because we were able to chat and catch up. Drinks came out timelyThe hostess was super sweet tooThe drinks were delicious and mixed wellAmazing ambianceWould be nice for a group of friends or coworkersClassy yet had a laidback vibeWould go again!
My wife and I loved this place! We had reservations to eat dinner here before going to a Broadway show, but had to push back our reservation time because we were running late. The staff was very accommodating and flexible, and our server, Orlando, was no exception. Once seated, we let him know we were on a tight timetable, and he made it happen. He had wonderful tapas and drinks on the table in a flash, and we had time to enjoy ourselves. We would go back here in a heartbeat!
Roast Chicken was very good. Patatas bravas were also very good. The roasted eggplant (escalivada) which I hadnt planned on getting, but was reccomended by our server, was 13 dollars and felt like a true rip off and was mostly flat bread. I was quite disappointed. Service was good.
I like this restaurant for the convenience and spaciousness of the interior, they also have an option of outdoor dining.Food. Classic Spanish tapas, good for sharing and passing plates around a table. It is a solid 3 star for midtown. Not for a foodie, but for hangout with friends.
Good food but the waitress adds supplements without telling us. She adds an entire tapas without telling us because we were 4 and the tapas was for 2. And to pay we have to go to an ATM because they don’t take the no contact mode very annoying for a restaurant with this expectations. To finish the beer was served in an glass so we have no proof it was the beer we ordered. We will not come back.
Had a wonderful time with a friend with a late lunch / happy hour! Everything was absolutely delicious the margaritas were divine and the tapas was so tasty - transported back to Barcelona! Our waiter was adorable and informed us that the paella would take 45 mins as it is made to order - he advised the patatas bravas and the Camerones to tide us over! It was a perfect afternoon! Highly recommended!!
The food is mostly good here, but its not enjoyable since it all comes out so quickly and at once. We even said we only ordered one thing at a time. So, if youd like to drop $100 in less than 20 minutes, this fits the bill. Otherwise, only order one thing to properly enjoy your night out.
I love Boqueria for the menu and wine selection, bar and overall approach to modernizing an authentic Spanish tapas restaurant. However on this one the service was slow and unpredictable. Perhaps stretching the franchise too much and trying to be more that you should doubling as hotel restaurant
I had a wonderful time with my friends. It’s a great place for large groups and less stress by ordering the prefix menu. Out of everything the one thing I was very grateful and impressed with was the CUSTOMER SERVICE. Every person I interacted with was very polite and accommodating. It is not easy navigating the hurdles of Covid but they figured out how to sit our group outside last minute. During dining, our server made sure we were comfortable and answered all our questions. He was able to sub one of the paella serving with a steak. Price was very reasonable and we did not feel rushed. I will definitely be returning!!
Tapas restaurant located in the AC Hotel. They offer a tasting menu ($40 pp for typical tapas or $68 which includes a chance to try world famous iberico ham). If you are seated in the back you can watch the chefs at work. I would recommend splitting a pitcher of drinks with friends or skipping the drink all together.
The menu has limited variety in terms of meats. The place was a little too loud for my liking. Definitely attracts a younger crowd and I went there with my aunt so it was not the best atmosphere for our outing. The food was good but very oily especially the patatas bravas and even the chicken special that we had. Wish they could ease up on the oil as the ingredients are already delicious.
This marg is the shish(ito) 🌶The shishito pepper margarita from @boqueria really is amazing. This isn’t actually a recent picture and I had not even realized it was from Boqueria until recently. I had this one in NYC at the @achotels @achotel_timessquare awhile back.
After the pandemic, I was so looking forward to coming back to Boquería and enjoy its delicious tapas and ambience. The place is so vibrant and its food so enticing. Well, the food certainly went down hill. We had meatballs, octopus, croquetas and the eggplant(escalivada). This last one was certainly very tasty. The octopus was not appetizing, the mashed potatoes were very simple and the flavor of the meat was just okay. The croquetas were served with a nice sauce, but when I cut one of them, there was no filling.I am not quite sure what happened, but I really hope the managers could pain attention. This place was one of my favorite Spanish places in NYC and I really hope to come back one day and give them the benefit of the doubt.
Our hotels concierge recommended Boqueria to us and we landed up here on a drizzly friday night, around 9 PM. As promised, this was a cool and relaxed modern Tapas style bar/ restaurant walking distance from the saturated lights of times square. The finger food was good but the Shishito Pepper Infused Margarita was outstanding.Seating at this time of the evening is hard to get and we spent our evening seated at the bar, which made for a great social place to meet with the locals. Overall, highly recommended for food, drinks and ambiance.
I came here for a work lunch and we got the lunch special which is Tapas. The table gets some peppers as an appetizer, and churros with chocolate for dessert. Each person gets to choose 2 tapas from the list. Since we were 4 we just picked all 8 options. The food was phenomenal and the tapas lunch special was a reasonable price for all you get. The portions are large and the 4 of us were so full we couldn’t finish all of the food. Definitely recommend!
I was very excited about this place, because I wanted to try paella for a very long time. I reserved a table for my birthday lunch and when I came and tried to order it, the server told me that Paella takes 1 hour to cook. I couldnt wait that long and I was very disappointed because I chose this specific place just to try the paella. And their menu doesnt say anything about long wait this dish. So I had to order tapas instead, which were pretty good.
We are big fans of the one in Flatiron so it was a real treat to find delicious tapas in the Theatre District. The Boqueria in the AC Hotel is also much quieter and laid back than the hard-drinking madhouse downtown. Great find. Not cheap but they have a solid wine list, excellent food and great service that makes for a special night out.
Ill start by saying that Im a tourist in NYC. That said, there is no way our family of 4 could have enjoyed our experience here more than we did. We eat out ALL. THE. TIME. This place is easily in our top 3. Great atmosphere (take proof of vaccination), and amazing food. But what makes this a top notch experience is the service. From servers to management: personable, professional, and fun. We were newbies to tapas, but they made us feel like long time customers.Go!
A restaurant with great food and excellent on-site service, but customer service can be inconsistent when it comes to delivery. Do not order direct from their website. You wont get a callback, refund or any resolution if they omit items from your order. That experience was unexpected and very disappointing.
Really like their selection menues, goes great with a couple of mimosa pitchers and a few friends. Need to book in advance on weekends and wont be cheap but youll have a good experience and a full belly by the time you leave with your leftovers. Pace yourself too as the food keeps coming and its worth saving enough room for the latest one (paella)
The food is amazing, really tasty and fresh… loved the herbs and the seasonings. The staff were accommodating and really took care of us, although one of my order wasnt processed, they immediately replaced it and we didnt had to pay for it, they are attentive to us. I had a reservation, but didnt know that kids needs vaccination card to be accommodated, good thing there was an outdoor sitting option with blankets and heater, i am glad i gave it a try coz i really enjoyed the food..
The excellent food and the beautiful place something similar to what I experienced when I travel to Spain would be Perfect except for a detail that for a restaurant is essential and that is the attention of the hostess was almost repulsive reaching the point of not caring that I ordered several dishes and hurrying to finish because He needed the table, it is unfortunate that restaurants of this type are frowned upon by the self-centeredness of a person who represents their image
It was overall N underwhelming experience. We went there to celebrate two people’s birthdays in our party and booked an outdoor table. The outdoor dining room was actually nice, but we were seated at a corner, which was drafty and cold, and one of us was facing the dumpster directly. We requested to sit inside if available, and they were very accommodating. The menu is pricey, but we expected nothing less in midtown. We ordered the paella to share, which the waiter told us to order a medium instead of a small. We also ordered a charcuterie board and another two dishes. We thought the charcuterie board would’ve come much earlier than other hot dishes, but it arrived almost the same time as the paella, which was 40 minutes after we ordered. The biggest disappointment was the paella, being sadly lukewarm. Not very flavorful. Seafood tasted stale. The best dish was the crispy potatoes, which was perfectly seasoned — just wish there were more sauce. Other stuff was okay. The service was okay too. They weren’t too warm to us, but still accommodating enough I did note the double birthday on the booking, but they didn’t say anything to us during our visit. Maybe the note went unnoticed? Meanwhile, the couple next to us got a little birthday dessert with a sparkler. With the price point and the quality of the food, we probably won’t be back.
This is probably the best option for a business lunch in the area. The interior buildout is clean and simple and there’s nice covered outdoor seating as well. The food is good and nicely presented, however the Gambas(garlic shrimp in oil) is disappointing as it should come out bubbling hot, but it’s always lukewarm.Service today was attentive at first, but halfway through the meal, we were forgotten and has to remind our server that we had two additional tapas coming. It took so long that we were held captive for 1.5 hours and had to take our dessert to go. I wish that they were more cognizant of timing during the work day.
Presentation was very nice polight service, the shrimp was very fishy smelling, my ribeye didnt arrive until after everything else was eaten the first time And it was incorrect so we had send it back and wait longer. Everything was very salty. The chef was personally serving and attending to a friend of his at the table next to us maybe the other cooks got lazy.
Both locations in NYC are pretty solid. Havent tried their sangrias but their premium cocktails were all delicious. Best to snag a ressie but if not, there is bar seating (about 10 or so seats). Their tapas were actually decent sized (not like tapas you find in Spain) and include some traditional options.
The food was delicious. The tapas option for lunch where you pick 2 tapas with another set app. and dessert was the perfect portion for me (and I’m a rather tall/large person). Food was prepared well, drinks were beautifully made (had the Rosé Sangria for lunch) and the atmosphere was great too. Loved the interior decor of the place. The pricing was on the heavier side, but thats to be expected from a restaurant at this specific location so close to Times Sq.
We came on a Saturday afternoon - the restaurant was reasonably busy. The food was decent, though the pan de tomate was somewhat cold. The bravas were delicious, with mayonnaise atop. Our server was very polite and constantly checked to see if we needed anything and advised me on the wine selection. The same compliments cannot be said for the hostess. She got us to our table with relative speed and checked our vaccination status, but was not welcoming and gave a spiel while walking us to our table - I presume about the ordering process? I could not tell you what she was telling us, because her back was to us the entire time, it was too loud, and she again did not seem to care whether we were hearing what she was trying to tell us or not.
I havent been feeling the Marisco Paella as of recently. We order a medium paella regularly and just the other day with some broccoli dish we bought and it was as good as it used to be. Not trying to bring down the establishment with hurtful words but whatever changes have been made to the dishes are becoming quite noticable and we dont want to HAVE to stop buying here. My wife is from Catalonia and states the thats her favorite dish so please fix this!

2022-06-06Excellent food and service, and a beautiful patio! We were a bit rushed due to a show and they were very accommodating. Everything we ate was excellent, and all of the sangria flavours were good. I only wish we had more time so we could’ve done the tasting experience!

2022-09-09Back at @boqueria but a different location, and it was still a fun time! My favorite this time was the mushroom croquettes. The cream inside and crispy texture outside made an amazing combination, and the taste of truffles made them even better!

2022-08-17Nice outdoor seating. Sangria was ok. Wine good. Food looks better than it tastes. Corn, clam, & croqueta good. Cheese was a joke for 3 pieces and tasted like nothing. Ham was too dry. Anchovies decent. Food came out quick and before the drinks. Team seemed so busy, couldnt crack a smile.

2022-01-13This place is pretty good. The dishes are kind of hit or miss— some are really outstanding and some are just not great. Its a bit on the pricier end but has a nice location and beautiful interior.

2022-07-31Ill start off by saying that I usually avoid anything remotely close to Time Square as it usually overpriced, touristy and not high quality. Boqueria 40th proved me wrong! Came for brunch. Everything was great. We had tapas upon tapas and I still got a full meal. I tried to taste test as much as I could. Delicious cocktails. The jalapeño margarita was top notch. Nice atmosphere. Good service. And not super expensive. Highly recommended!

2022-03-22I always loved a good tapas restaurant and this one did not disappoint! We chose the chefs tasting menu for 2 with the special ham. Everything was delicious. Some of the favorites were the lamb meatballs, the garlic shrimp, the fried potatoes with the spicy sauce and garlicky aoli and of course, the paella (very yummy) Boqueria has a nice vibe and great food...great combo!!

2022-03-21This restaurant located on the ground floor of AC hotel, the inside is quite nice with comfortable seating. Outdoor is not the best for winter because it’s not completely sealed it gets cold on windy days. Make sure to make reservation in advance, it does get busy quickly. The food are all really delicious, the farmers breakfast from brunch menu does get a bit salty on the steak and chorizo. The tapas portion are small and pricy. In general all the tapas are on a pricy side. The service on the other side is really good, if you want to order paella make sure to order early so you can eat with your group at the same time, it takes 45mins
