Id heard of La Bourcherie and was excited to try it. Went for brunch. Beautiful ambiance however their service was slow that day. Wanted to order fries but didnt get to do so - meal was done by the time server came back. The drinks were decent but the food was plain and overpriced. Omelette was light & fluffy as French fare goes but unfortunately the smoked salmon didnt sit well with me. It was okay, just expected much more for the price.
We had a fantastic birthday brunch here! The food was great (try their mushroom ravioli - oh my!), and the service top notch ✨ Shout out to Gaudi, who went above and beyond to accommodate our group and gifted our birthday girl with the Creme brûlée and the hand signed book with congratulations! Will be back for sure!
Boucherie has been starred on my map for quite awhile. While searching for a decent place to celebrate my coworker’s working anniversary, I found Boucherie would be a great place based on its menus and settings. We’ve tried several dishes such as escargots, grilled salmon, mushroom ravioli, Paris Brest, Crème Brûlée, Berrymania mocktail, etc. The escargots were cooked with a parsley and garlic butter - you wouldn’t taste the earthy flavor. To be honest, dipping bread with the herbal sauce was amazing! Classic grilled salmon was pan seared to crispy with confit tomatoes, olives, and capers - really like this main dish. As for dessert, Paris Brest was with more combinations of ingredients balancing the sweetness and sourness. Crème Brûlée was with crispy caramel top yet a bit too creamy/soft for the pudding itself. The classic French bistro flavors were totally spot on. If you dine in during lunchtime, it’s spacious and not too loud. The service was great too!
Steak Frites was on the Restaurant Week menu at Boucherie but only on the weekdays. Nevertheless when I was there on Sunday, early February, I ate this expensive entrée and savored each and every mouthwatering bite. The large piece of meat topped with Béarnaise sauce was sublime. Shoestring fries were crisp on the outside but over fried on the inside. The servers were friendly and professional. I had no room for dessert.
I was very disappointed with my chicken. Very dry. The veggie burger was also a disappointment. Saying that, the muscles were very good. The fries were way to salty. Why dont you give the customer the choice of adding salt? Service was excellent. Waiter was very polite and accommodating.
The place has an amazing ambience. The drinks were top notch. The food was very good but not amazing, just good. No complaints but for some reason I was expecting a bit more. The truffle mushroom ravioli came slightly on a cooler side. The octopus was the best out of all of the food. The service from front desk to the waiters was superb.
Found out because union square cafe was closed. Had lunch with a family member. Really like the food. Nice to find another good restaurant. The appetizer was really good. My steak was delicious and the wagyu hamburger was really good too. We had non alcoholic beverages and the were amazing. Great service.
I went to Petite Boucherie before and this Boucherie Union Square is not just as good as the Petite, but their menu offers more choices. We had the Escargot, Ratatouille Aux Merguez, Entrecote Grille (Ribeye) and Cuisse de Canard Confit (Confit duck leg). All were good and service was attentive. It is not difficult to find street parking. Parking meter is available around the neighborhood.
Boucherie is many things: consistently good French food, a master at what it does in delivering a lovely evening among friends or on date night with the hubby and service that can sometimes be hit or miss (i.e., very French) with its dismissive, attitude rich staff. But then again, its all those things above, even the sometimes annoying staff attitudes, that makes Boucherie so enjoyable. Well, maybe not the latter so much ...The escargot, divine. The Co qu vin, perfection. The filet, perfectly cooked to a medium rare. And the desserts are so very rich and very delicious. Its a Flatiron staple for many reasons, all of them making it a place we enjoy returning to time and time again.
Steak Frites was on the Restaurant Week menu at Boucherie but only on the weekdays. I ate this expensive entrée and savored each and every mouthwatering bite. The large piece of meat topped with Béarnaise sauce was sublime. Shoestring fries were crisp on the outside but over fried on the inside. The servers were friendly and professional.
A perfect post-pandemic lunch! I asked my foodie friend to pick one of his favorite eateries for us to visit. He - and, therefore, Boucherie - didn’t disappoint! We sat indoors in this large airy, light dining room and enjoyed a terrific meal and conversation. The service and the food were excellent and enjoyed the experience. Will be back!
Great Dinner with a friend. RSVP before arriving and was seated at the wrong section, but it was quickly remedied by the hostess without an issue. The food was spectacular, minus the orange sauce(Not to my liking-My opinion). Our waiter was extremely nice and lively. The butter sauce from the mussels were so good in the fries too! Lol steak was medium well to perfection and the wine was suggested blended well with everything. The manager was nice enough as he was handsome 😉 to give us a recipe book that includes a bio on the restaurant as we left out. I soo want to try there breakfast menu next!!😋
Great ambiance for dinner. Unsurprisingly it was very busy on a Friday evening but there were separators between our tables. The confit duck leg was good, albeit on the smaller side, it would be great if it came with more potatoes, so i was glad that i ordered a side of fries. The atmosphere is great though!
Visited this past week First time, The atmosphere was cozy. The space itself is beautiful but the French motif doesnt seem to match it. The tables are small resembling those of a French bistro but the space is large so they look weird. Also, some of the plates are rather big and dont fit well on the small tables. The wait staff was very attentive.the appetizers were just ok.The steak and salmon were very good
Boucherie is a more traditional French restaurant with emphasis on amazing meats. The three restaurants range from a bistro atmosphere in the West Village to upscale dining at Union Square and Midtown, all of which are beautiful and welcoming. The dry aged steaks are prepared to perfection and the duck and seafood entrees wont disappoint any pallet. The appetizer and cocktails selections are thoughtful and beyond excellent. If you are looking for an extraordinary dining experience, please make a reservation at Boucherie. You wont be disappointed.
Have been to other locations and had great meals. This one was just as good if not better. Granted it was not very busy when we went so the service was perfect and all of the food came out cooked as requested. Quite frankly my family loved their meal and experience. Its a favorite for us.
Service was great. Ordered a tomahawk steak and we left still hungry. Had to walk across the street to Bocca and grab a pasta. Never spent $300 for a table of 2 to still feel hungry. Cocktail was on point. The cocktail and server saved you from a 1 star. If you look closely you’ll see that 50% of the steak was fat.
We loved Boucherie, the meal was wonderful! Our waiter, “Ashif” was so knowledgeable about every detail of our meal. If you are looking for excellent service, with someone who knows everything from the “notes” of the scotch to the perfect refreshing cocktail, he is your man. Also the Union Square location is awesome because you can shop around the square and easily walk a half block to the restaurant. Enjoy!
Stellar from start to finish. Has been our Friday staple throughout the pandemic and beyond! The management and ownership are incredible. The escargot is definitely the best in the city. Restaurant week is also a great opportunity to try their offerings. Cocktails and mussels are unparalleled. Highly recommended!
The atmosphere was beautiful and robust drink menu had plenty of tasty options. I ordered steak which was bland and just okay at best. Not worth the price. My friends pork chops were also bland but both had great texture. The front area where we were seated was freezing and most of my party had to keep our coats on. Dessert was okay.
My husband and I had been hankerin some escargot for a while. We scheduled a trip to NYC (business and pleasure). On our 5th day in Manhattan, we decided to try Boucherie! Not only were the escargot absolutely delicious, their house burger was one of the most delicious hamburgers I have ever eaten. Our waiter, Gaudi, was from Mexico. Such a nice gentleman! He took very good care of us! Excellent service, excellent food, great ambiance...what more can one ask for?
We were so excited to dine with here. We had traveled from out of town and made reservations a month ago. I had requested a standard table (not a high) and my adult family of four was taken to a small cramped high table. When I asked for a different one, we were moved to one close to outside and it was rather cold but not given a choice. From the onset, the waiter seemed overwhelmed/bothered and did not spend much time with us. He did not explain the menu (we looked many things up) and were not told of any specials. He forgot to put in our appetizer order of escargot and I had to ask if it came out with the meal. The salmon dish came out completely raw, so much that the other server who took time with us took it immediately to a manager, who personally took it to the kitchen. My other daughter had asked for her steak to be medium and it came out closer to medium rare, but we were to afraid at that point to bother. We waited and waited for the dessert menus but after 25 minutes just decided to ask for the check and leave. No accommodations were made for any mistakes. It’s was disappointing to say the least.
Im an immigrant, used to eating all over Europe and chose Boucherie to give my US born daughter her first real experience of Continental European dining and it couldnt have been better. Superb staff, and excellent food made the experience frankly magical for her. For us, her parents, it gave us happy memories of many meals eaten together during our courtship (Mom has eaten all over Europe too). Nothing but praise for Boucherie, if for no other reason, there is no snobbery here. They are interested in feeding people well, and welcoming them into their home. I adored it.
Our favorite restaurant in the city! Especially for dessert. Our server Alessandro was great and was able to accommodate us when we came in close to closing and quickly get us seated and served. the ambiance is also so great with old jazz standards and high ceilings. Must recommend the creme brûlée!
Decor and ambiance were nice and service was OK$49 for a so-so steak frites? The meat was just OK, fries were a little salty. We also had underwhelming oysters that were not cheap. I’ve had better at a $1 happy hour at a raw bar.Won’t be coming back— for the price, there is much better food around
The decor here is really festive & nice! It was a crowded evening but our server, Gaudi was amazing! He ensured me and my friend were good throughout the evening. He gave incredible food recommendations and even gave a complimentary cappuccino. The food was delicious! Only reason I marked it as 4 stars was because my fries were salty. I ordered the steak frites. My steak was delicious though! For dessert, definitely get the Pistachio Bombe Glacee which was highly recommended by our server. Be ready to spend money because items add up easily but Definitely will come again!
Came here two nights ago for the first time and was instantly in awe of the stunning interior and general vibe. A friendly server greeted us from behind the host stand and asked how he could help. Just then a very dark energy came from around the corner which took the form of the host. She told the server she would handle it and he rushed off to attend his actual duties. She instantly gave off a dismissive attitude and asked if we had a reservation. We told her the time and shes like I cant find it despite our confirmation. Because there were just two of us she said she could still sit us and we proceeded to our table. Grateful to be away from her negative vibe we began taking off our coats and haphazardly hung them on a nearby partition pole since there were no coat or bag hooks in sight. Just then our server Alessandro C. who was VERY friendly approached and said he could place them in coat check. We said that was totally fine despite being a little embarrassed the host hadnt alerted us to the coat check when we came in. The rest of the dinner went well; Alessandro was so kind and attentive throughout the meal and the food was delicious. When it was time to leave he let us know we could give our ticket to the host and she would fetch our coats from the back. I felt a bit of anxiety just because our brief interaction earlier felt so negative. As we rounded the planter to give her the ticket she was busy talking to an unidentified male colleague and gave us the most annoyed and irritated glance as if our presence was an inconvenience to her.. I handed her the ticket and she returned shortly with our coats and STILL a bad attitude. Not really sure what we did to receive such poor treatment but you cant help but wonder if its because Im a white woman and my friend is a black man. Because this restaurant is so nice it has the potential to be a go-to spot but if we see that host again we most likely wont be returning.
My family and I had a brunch on Sunday at Boucherie. It was a bit crowded to have a relaxing brunch, and I had to raise my hands several times and yell literally to get a waiter’s attention. The food was excellent, and it was quite soothing to seep on a bowl of onion soup while the cold draft was coming thru the window doors facing the street. Perhaps a better insulation or heating would have been nice.
One of the best restaurants in Manhattan. The service is stellar and the design is beautiful. They are following all of the safety protocols and more. The French onion soup and the steak sandwich were incredible. Our new go to restaurant. We highly recommend anyone to go here! It’s also beautifully decorated for the holidays
My partner and I have been to this location a few times and each time it’s a great experience. The service is always top notch. One of the best French cuisine in the city. I normally don’t leave reviews however, the last time we were there for dinner the service was especially wonderful. We wanted to say thanks to Gaudí for his impeccable service. Gaudí went above and beyond. He was wonderful, so incredibly thoughtful, and punctual. We’ll be sure to visit again soon. Thanks so much!!!
I don’t normally leave reviews, but I feel compelled as the food and service were beyond our expectations. The steak frites, in particular, were delicious. Our server, Renato, was very friendly and attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. I highly recommend this place.
The Union Square location is wonderful. I’ve been twice in the last two weeks and my waiter, Zach, was unparalleled. His recommendations are on point each time, he checks in with perfect frequency and made the experience wonderful both times. I’ve lived here for years and always walk by, but iam glad I popped in one random day. Now, I’ll be stopping by every few weeks and asking for Zach each time.Great place. Great food. Great service. And actually a good amount of space between tables! A+
Amid the NYC restaurant crisis Boucherie Union Square has done a credible job of keeping the meals coming. On a recent visit, I appreciated how they were willing to accommodate my party without reservations. Their outside section is cozy but still had good air flow which I found comforting. I find their food to be consistently good albeit slightly pricey. The beef bourguignon is a flavor combustion accompanied with a tender short rib. Service has always been friendly and efficient. It does remind one of being in Paris when dining there. It is definitely on my consistent go to list of NYC restaurants.
The French Onion Soup is delicious! The steak on their main menu is so, so at best. If you want good steak, ask for their steak menu. I’m surprised that don’t always provide both menus for their diners. They have a good happy hour menu here. The apps + drinks are pretty good. The happy hour steak is delicious.Tip for management: train your waiters to either always provide both the regular menu and the steak menu or to at least inform your customers that there is a second steak menu that isn’t provided. The mixed drinks are really strong & pretty bad.
There were 2 greeters upon entering. A young female server who checked guest vaccinations in the order that guests walked through the door. The male greeter checked guests randomly and did not seem to know what he was doing or seemed engaged with guests. I certainly did not feel welcome until a female served greeted me at my table. I hope he was not the manager!
I thought Boucherie was a pretty solid spot. I enjoyed the filet that I ordered, it was cooked nicely. With that said, I thought the portion size was a little small (I do eat a lot more than the average person, though). The outdoor seating at Boucherie is very aesthetically pleasing. I’d say it’s one of the better ones in the city. The only negative I can think of is the service. It may have just been an off night but my friend and I were waiting for a while for our food. Nothing that would deter me from coming back, just an observation.
Me & my wifey went here for our valentines date. We love the ambiance of the place & the service gave by our server, Martin, was very good & attentive. The food was amazing, we ordered steaks & they were well made. Definitely gonna come back here with my wifey for another date night!
Everything about tonight was perfect, we were warmly greeted by both hostesses and sat at a nice round table with our server Zach. He attended to us well and the food we had was amazing. Good vibes all throughout the restaurant which made it more comforting to enjoy our time there at Boucherie! Will definitely be coming back!
My favorite place from now on. 😊 first lets start with safety 👏 ill give you 10 stars 🌟 if I could. second the place is magical, the Christmas tree seriously made my day and will be back with friends in two weeks. third food is amazing, escargot is superb, steak tartar awesome well executed harmony off ingredients we finished with an Australian rack of lamb ( rare) it it was tender, warm and packed with flavor. 😋 and last but not least, the service 🙏 attentive, knowledgeable, personal and gracious staff. twas checking on us on every course and he even open our wine😊 a wonderful experience,we felt safe the whole time t ne the best covid setups in whole new york .thank you Boucherie we will see you soon .
Was hoping for a good experience as it was my friend’s birthday. We were seated quickly, which was good, but in the smallest corner table on the way to the bathroom. Our waiter came over and when I asked if we could switch to one of the open banquettes, he rushed off to “ask” and did not return for 20 minutes. This is not an exaggeration. My friend, whose birthday it was, was getting annoyed because we were not even asked for our drink order yet. And of course, through all the waiting, all of the open banquettes were seated. Nice tactic.I finally flagged down our nice busboy and asked where our waiter was.... still more waiting for our waiter. I finally approached the host stand and asked jokingly if we had done something wrong, explaining how we were not being served. When our waiter came over after some goading from the host, he asked for our food order so he could put it in because the kitchen was backed up. We gave our food orders and our drink orders at the same time, because we had never been asked about those. We are 4 girls in our 20s who like to drink. We would have ordered at least 2 more drinks each if the service had been better.Worst foie gras I’ve ever had. Worst tagliatelle I’ve ever had (pasta is not that hard, sorry.) Oysters were meh. My friend never got her salad after confirming with the server twice. The only good thing I can say is the host was very nice, and when I asked for them to bring out two desserts with a candle for my friend, they brought out one. Dessert was good.It was a Saturday night, and pretty busy, so we were very understanding that they might be overwhelmed and things might not go as quickly. But this was inexcusable. Will never return. Very disappointing, overpriced food.
Dinner at Boucherie is a lavish treat. Every item on their menu and wine list looks better than the next. My friend and I split the confit duck leg and the ragu. The duck was the best I’ve ever had — it was cooked to perfection and doused in this savory sauce that was incredible! Another highlight was the steak tartare appetizer. It’s a must try!The ambiance and the staff were also incredible. I feel like I’m living out a New York fantasy when I’m at Boucherie!
I love boucherie. Always have great food. Usually go to the west village location, but Union square is super solid too!Pictured is a sour cocktail and mushroom ravioli. Generally like to have some kind of meat with meals I order out, but this dish was filling and tasty. Looking forward to coming back again soon!
Ok where to start…The positives: position, the place indoors is quite pleasant.. dark wood, subway tile, prints mirrors etc. The NYC interpretation of a Paris bistroThe negatives: the place is LOUD AF, forget about having a conversation. Service is slow, inattentive, it seems like they have no system. The worst: the food frankly sucked. Except for the fries. The escargot where a odd color, had zero garlic where not broiled and lacked salt. Moules were also bland, not a bit of parsley or garlic… the steak arrived dead cold to the table. The bread is not even baguette, which is odd for a French bistro…And on top of that the prices are absurd. Peeps you can find better French in NYC.
Since Covid weve been searching for a great but SAFE outdoor dinning. And this restaurant NAILED IT. They dont have a physical menu, they gave you this piece of paper with the QR code of the menu. The servers and runner were very nice and accomodating same with their hostess. They have these sections as a safety partition from other guests.Their burger was great, we had the wagyu truffle burger with a side of fries. It was a great size and affordable. The pasta was delicious, very affordable. We also ordered grilled octopus as for our appetizer and this was the best grilled octopus by far. When we were ready to get our check, we also paid thru scanning a QR code and pay everything on our phone.100% safe during this time of pandemic. Less contact and deff social distancing.
I love love this place—French food made to perfection. I brought my best friend and my Goddaughters to introduce their palate to delicious and delightful cuisine. Lets just say they enjoyed themselves so much they want to visit again. The waiter was wonderful, and the management is accommodating. The steak was juicy and tender, and of course, the French fries were so good. My Goddaughter enjoyed the pasta with Bolognese sauce and kept twirling the pasta on her fork. You need to come and enjoy the ambiance. You wont be disappointed. Bonjour
Went on July 4th, was not so busy so the kitchen was not overtaxed. Both my steak (ordered medium rare) and my companions (ordered medium) were considerably over cooked. It was not terribly good to have a medium well or more *filet mignon*. Just kinda disappointing. Someone was clearly not paying attention.
I had a pleasure of dining at their original spot in West Village about a year ago, now that they have a secondary location in Gramercy Park, we went to check it out.The inside was astonishingly beautiful, just like the Boucherie at the West Village, but different feel to it. The West Village location was more like an old Victorian French. Here, it was a bit more Gothic, with the arches that made me think of historic churches. It was quite large and they had lots of seating. We had a few cocktails, which were all high quality, elegant and strong. We enjoyed them all.For food, we had Raviolis aux Champignons, Pâtes aux Fruits de Mer for appetizer. They were both very tasty, well prepared and delicious! We savored every and each bite. The portion was pretty good too, more than enough to share. The mushroom ravioli was especially wonderful, it was so much better than I expected it to be. Then, we had Filet de Bœuf and Filet Mignon and Queue Homard. The steak was really good here, cooked just the way we wanted, and they were juicy, tender, packed with flavor. The sauce or the jus was really awesome, we devoured them with bread until the plates were shined off clean! We decided to end the wonderful meal with a dessert to share. We ordered Profiteroles. I was happy with the size of the dessert. It was much bigger than I thought, which was great. Our server was very nice and attentive, she took a good care of us. All the other staffs were nice too. The only thing was the second round of cocktails took a long while, but the server apologized for it and told us what was going on with that in timely manner. Overall, it was a wonderful dinner with warm and inviting atmosphere. We enjoyed everything that we ordered, both food and drinks. Their steak was packed flavor, and again, the sauce and jus was just amazing! I would love to go back again for more!
Been on my list to check out for a while as this is one of my friends favorite places in NYC and now I understand why! We only came for dessert this time and everything was impeccable! Service was spot on! Atmosphere and decor were beautiful -this is definitely a great place for a romantic date! Cappuccino and profiteroles were delicious! Will definitely come back for brunch or dinner #marusikapproved -highly recommend!
So perfect for a nicer dinner in the city that doesnt break the bank. We came for our Anniversary and it was just so lovely! The ambiance was lively but still intimate. The staff is wonderful and the absinthe cocktails are delicious! The menu ranges from reasonable to upscale pricey (but worth it!) The steaks menu is SO GOOD! Again, you can do something reasonable or treat yourselves to something special. Either way, its nice to have options.
Great service and the hostesses were very accommodating . Great wine recommendation and the food was excellent. One of my favorite restaurants, I always recommend to everyone to try.The hostess were amazing in accommodating my family and I for dinner. Great job! We always visit the one in the west village and we were just as amazed with the service and great food here. Amazing job guys! Cheers
My birthday is on Valentines, so it is very hard to find a reservation, nevermind feel very special on a day that others celebrate. My husband brought me to the Union Square location of Boucherie, and it did not disappoint. Our server, Gaudi, took first class care of my family and I - treating us with special attention as he knew it was my birthday. A free dessert, a book signed by him, and attentive care to my husbands celiac disease earned Boucherie and its waitstaff a glowing review and a return customer. Thanks Boucherie!
The meal took place in Phase 2/3 of covid time so the true quality of service and food may not be reflective.First off....the steaks were definitely not on point as one would expect from an establishment of this price point. The attached photo with the steak cut was more grey than pink...id have to say medium well at best but we had asked for a medium rare. Even the tomahawk was more on the medium or medium well side but it was passable/forgivable given the circumstances. But besides that...service was great, the appetizers and sides were very good and portions were not too small and well seasoned. All in all a good experience despite the inconsistencies of the meat temperature.Id come again after the covid pandemic...looking forward to some normalcy.
This place has become our go to during this pandemic. With plastic partitions, plenty of room between tables and great heaters we feel comfortable and warm while sitting outdoor. Always great service, last time Michele was our waiter and recommended great drinks, vegetarian dishes and desserts. Everything was so so good!
Overall nice vibe inside, table was very smaller and cramped (as you can see couldn’t really take off the top of my dish lol). Server was friendly. I really didn’t enjoy the Mussels dish, they had no taste/dry (sauce on the bottom) in my opinion. Not sure if I would return. Although I tried my friend’s steak and it was very good. Creme Brûlée very tasty
Lots of seats and pretty quick service. Duck confit slightly over fried but otherwise delicious. Portions are large especially for dessert. Typical French bistro decor. Price point for sandwiches ($15) and salad are median for eateries in the area. Participated in restaurant week but I have not tried.
When entering the shift manager Jolie made us feel welcome and so kind and attentive. We sat close to the bar and our waiter Alex is polite and attentive as well. The food was delicious and again staff was polite and exceptional. Because if our experience here today we promised Jolie to come back with our son.
Loved the ambience and the service was excellent. We went during restaurant week, so were able to enjoy a nice meal at a fairly decent price. My son had the strip steak and loved it. My salmon was excellent as well, but the asparagus was just so-so. Both of our desserts were out of this world. Cocktails are quite expensive (even for NY).
By wonderful good fortune, I came across Boucherie on my walk to work one day, and made a mental note that Ive gotta come back and try this place! And so infinitely grateful I did! With the seemingly endless amount of dining options to choose from in this city, its often tough to narrow down your choices. But I can assure you that Boucherie is THE restaurant to indulge in extraordinary French cuisine and atmosphere. And even better was our server, Joel, who treated my friend and I like royalty. Joel was so fantastically accommodating and personable! We will definitely be back! Merci beaucoup!
If youre looking for a white tablecloth 5 star French dining experience, look no further than Boucherie Union Square.Understated elegant ambience and a nice wine selection started off our dinner on thre right note. Fresh baked bread anf soft butter arrived next with a plate of olives. We shared two pasta starters. The rigatoni bolognese was sprinkled with green basil and was perfect. The ink squid pasta was also divine. We each chose a steak as our main course. The steak frites was good but the steak with chimichurri sauce was the clear winner. Dessert was a delicious creamy creme brulee with fresh berries and crepes suzette. A perfect meal served with polish. Highly recommended.
Boucherie is an absolute slice of French heaven in the hustle & bustle of NYC. The steak frites was to DIE for — incredibly seasoned, cooked impeccably, and served alongside the crispiest fries a girl could ask for. Absolutely recommend the restaurant for any occasion!
We have been here With my sister and had an awesome meal. We started with the eggplant salade and a charcuterie/fromage plate. Portions was great. Then she had fish and I had the juiciest hanger steack ever . Perfectly cooked , with a side of spinach , gratin and mushrooms. Great !Dessert was the best : crème brûlée and Pistacchio bomb. Service was great and drinks perfectly balanced ! Great dinner
Another homerun for this amazing group! Both of the Boucherie restaurants have the same menu but Boucherie in the village had a more casual feel while Boucherie Park felt a little more fancy.I really liked the size and length of the restaurant. The walk to the bathroom makes you feel like youre walking back in time in France. Now the most important part!I tried the Moules and Brussel salad for appetizers. Ive had mussels at almost every restaurant I have been to and theres always something off, too much wine our salt or not enough wine etc. The mussels here were cooked perfect and the broth was amazing. As for the Brussel sprouts despite my indifference towards them, I actually enjoyed the salad. It wasnt bitter and the dressing made it all come together nicely. For the main course, I had the 16oz Pat Lafrieda aged NY strip and man was it flavorful! My girlfriend ordered the filet mignon which was soo tender, it doesnt want to be chewed. Both steaks were in my opinion delicious and some of the best steaks I have had compared to even NYs best steakhouses. Also you have to get the frites, a absolute must.To finish off the meal, you always have to get profiteroles. Whats not to like about a little cream puff filled with ice cream swimming in a pool of chocolate. However you always have to try the pistachio bombe. The crunchy brownie bottom with smooth pistachio ice cream was genius. Oh and they drizzle chocolate all over so you know.Im looking forward to coming back for the 40oz tomahawk rib eye and more frites.
I made a last minute reservation on OpenTable during a Friday attempt to avoid rush hour. The restaurant was fairly empty at 6pm, but filled up steadily during our visit. Everything we ate was fantastic: escargot came out hot and buttery, scallops were well proportioned and cooked well, and the Crepes Suzette was delicious. The cocktails are punched up with flavor and are larger than I expected. The atmosphere is very mixed, but mostly couples dressed down - probably because it was after work on a Friday. Service from the second you walk in the door is pretty good. My only complaint is that we saw our busser more than we saw our waiter. Overall, this place was great and I would visit again.
Outstanding addition to the area. I live a few blocks away and a restaurant that provides this level of comfort and satisfaction has been well needed for some time now. The bar staff are fantastic. Anthony, Killian and German served me fantastically well. Ill be sure to return for their escargots and steak frites!
A wonderful dinning experience with a wide assortment of different french cuisine. With Escargot and a variety of different meats from chateaubirand to steak au poivre. I ordered the steak au poivre. The steak was cooked to perfection but the au poivre sauce was not quite what I was expecting, it almost had a citrus back tone that slightly took away from the flavor. Despite this the meal was gorgeous. The service impeccable and the ambiance is to die for. Highly recommend the visit and would for sure return in the future.
Amazing! We needed a quick place to stop for a late lunch before retrieving our bags from our hotel down the street and heading to the train station. This place DID NOT DISAPPOINT. We had the foie gras, escargot, and streak tartare. My husband had a delicious pinot noir and I had their old fashioned specialty cocktail. This was a deliciously decadent way to end our quick weekend trip to NYC and i cant wait to return here!!
One of my favorite meat dishes in the city: Steak Frites Au Poivre with peppercorn cream sauce from @boucherienyc. This is such a staple. If you’re feeling like some pasta, I also would HIGHLY recommend their rigatoni bolognese... some of the best I’ve had in quite some time! Always an incredible meal here! 👌
Went here in March of 2021 when there was indoor seating available. The staff took our temperature and tables were spaced out, so I think there were definitely precautions taken place for safety. Now into the food. The food was amazing! I had a filet mignon, an apple cocktail, and a dessert with a brownie on the bottom that we then had the option to cover with more chocolate. The steak and dessert were definitely up there for some of the best Ive had.
The beef Wellington was ok not that good as i expect, I was oder salmon steak medium rare but it’s came out over cook so i return it , They give me a new one but the taste of salmon and sauce too sweet for me,for the Newyork steak was good a bit overcook for medium rare ! The service was great!
Boucherie Union Square is a delectable slice of culinary heaven. The food was totally delish. I am not.typically a lover of French cuisine, except for pastries. However, Boucherie has given me a different outlook. The salmon was grilled to perfection and ny husbands steak, although I dont eat red meat, looked divine. The drinks were on point. And the ambience a perfect 10. The establishment is a cross between old Hollywood NYC and traditional French vibe. The staff were attentive and patient with our large group. Price wise.... $$$$$. But remember, its NYC during a pandemic.
Boucherie was absolutely wonderful! We had Oscar as our server and he made the experience a complete delight. The French food was very authentic and the Christmas ambiance made it the perfect dinner for the season! I cannot say enough wonderful things about this restaurant, I will definitely be back
Always been a fan of their west village location so I was looking forward to checking out the new Park Ave one. It’s just as beautiful as the original one and there’s a charcuterie station where you can sit at the charcuterie bar, sip wine and eat freshly shaved cured meats 😋
It’s such a wonderful night here at Boucherie!! What a great place to spend the evening with your friends and family, relaxed vibe with astounding meat quality! We ordered the Tomahawk and Butcher block, surprised us with no warning and Marta! our waitress has been above and beyond the service! Her patience, knowledge about the menu, great customer service! Overall, it’s a must try!! Just another place for dinner, what can you lose?!
My boyfriend and I were visiting NYC from out of town and picked this place based on the positive reviews, and it was by far our favorite meal of the trip. The staff was accommodating to us after we showed up late due to being stuck in traffic. The cocktails, especially the la vie en rose, were total standouts. Our meal was so great, and our server Ashif was the reason for that. He was so attentive and knowledgeable of the menu, and we followed all of his recommendations for an amazing experience. He steered us in the right direction for every course of our meal, and we appreciated his honesty and guidance. We are so happy with all he did for us, and will be back for sure the next time we are here! Couldn’t recommend enough!
Such a lovely meal with fantastic service. Are you in Paris or NYC?! You’ll never know by eating here. The wine was divine and the steak was cooked to perfection. I knew from the first bite of the bread w/ butter that I was in for a real treat.Zach is the best waiter and the support staff are just as incredible and attentive.
A very busy and crowded restaurant is a double edged sword. Of course it gives you confidence that the dining experience is a good one. But it also ironically takes away from the overall experience and especially if conversation is something you might be interested in having. So, as expected, the food was excellent. My steak was cooked perfectly (medium rare) and the frites were very tasty as well.Service was very good. Waiter was attentive without being overbearing but frankly he could have cursed at me from beside the table and I would not have known as it was so loud in the restaurant. We received a beautiful book as a parting gift, which now sits on my coffee table and is already a popular read amongst guests at my house.
My husband and I had a wonderful anniversary dinner at Boucherie. The sommelier, Jonty, really made the whole experience exceptional... Excellent recommendations that paired perfectly with the Chateaubriand for 2... which was more than enough for the two of us! Atmosphere was lively as expected on a Saturday night in New York! All in all a great evening!
Gaudi was amazing. Ask to be in his section. He was attentive, fast, and charming. This was our second time back. We decide on Boucherie over USC and man feel good to make the right choice. Steaks, salad, cocktails and wine all on point. This place is count-onable. From the lighting, music, food, front and back of house 5 stars. Thanks again Gaudi
They are the most inconsistent chain or restaurants ever. I called ahead because I was interested in the restaurant week lunch special. They said oh yes we will serve this till 5. I made a reservation for 3:30 to be told no we serve dinner now. When I asked if they had anything left from that menu as I booked just for that he said he didn’t know and doubted they would. I will not be returning here.

2022-02-07This is the second location of this restaurant that I visited. Everything is very tasty, the onion soup melts in the mouth, the French fries are fresh and crispy, the bass fish is tender, and the steaks were perfectly cooked. I would highly recommend this restaurant for delicious French cuisine when you are in NYC.

2022-06-27Great food! This place has a very nice rustic and French vibe. The servers were super friendly and attentive.First time trying les escargots (French snails) and it was very nice - surprisingly! Also, the best dish around was the steak tartare - mind blowing! Tender, fresh and perfectly seasoned! The bread was amazing too and they give you an infinite amount of it.The duck confit was very nice too - French flavours are very peculiar as they like to sauce things up with a little concentrate - often with wine, and a bit sour and sweet. Very pleasant. However, the foie gras was a big flop - it was very earthy and not smooth and fat as it should. I wouldn’t recommend ordering it as I can see how it may ruin the night for some people. Go for a more traditional lamb chop or steak. The burgers look good too, so I might order it next time!Lastly, the drinks were nice but a little expensive - almost $20 each. They do have a great selection of cocktails and wine, and you’d expect to pay such prices for this type of place. However, in my opinion, it is a bit expensive - they could perhaps rethink of the ambience and sound system to make it more luxurious.Nevertheless, super recommended for a good dinner with close friends, family or a date. The waiters were super nice, especially ours, cute and friendly too!

2021-11-23My family and I had a brunch on Sunday at Boucherie.

2022-06-12Had dinner here. The steak was not the greatest sadly but the oysters were exceptional. The east coast oysters in particular were great. I also really enjoyed their crème brûlée. Worth trying if you’re in the area in a pinch but certainly not my favorite in the area.

2022-02-17Went here for a birthday dinner and was pretty disappointed that the food took years to come out. I was so excited to try their food but it was just very mediocre… I got the tomahawk steak which was their expensive item and was disappointed at that as well. The drinks were okayyy. But when I took the steak Togo , it was a lot better when I remade it at home…

2022-03-05Really nice French Brasserie ! We felt like in France !The menu has a few spécialités like « Paté en croute » or « escargots », « Salade aux chèvre chaud (salad with hot cheese) …Also « Boudin blanc », they have ratatouille for on the side. We’ve decided to go with the steak frites and the « Salmon papillote » and it was delicious !For dessert, we had the Lemon tart and I’m still dreaming about it !Zac was our waiter and he was great with us - attentive and very professional !Not to mention that the place is gorgeous and well decorated. They have an outdoor space as well.

2021-12-19This was the best meal we had in New York, facilitated by the excellent Ashif, whose recommendations and friendly service were fantastic. Its a really beautiful restaurant with a wonderful atmosphere, and the food is beyond reproach. You will not be disappointed. Worth every penny.
