Stopped in this coffee shop with my family. I was standing in front of the cashier for quite some time before she said anything. I decided to say hello. She still said nothing. The chai latte that I ordered was pure syrup. The biscuits were good. The service ruined my experience. Just so unfriendly and unwelcoming. Unfortunately, as a result, I wont be back.
THIS IS MY NEW HOME! I love boxer donut, I love all the different types of brews I can get. I used to just go for an americano and call it a day but now Im ordering Chemex, Kyoto, French Press etc. Oh and dont even get me started on the donuts, they are literally to die for
Passed through house hunting and stopped to get a cup with my family, coffee was good but I definitely felt strange just being there. Didnt feel welcome, the cashier seemed like shed prefer making coffee for anyone but me, so Ill do her a favor and avoid this place in the future.
My job gives me the benefit of exploring a lot of different places. Well coming across Boxer Donut was a pleasant surprise. The nitro cold brew was a great pick me up! The staff was super friendly and make you feel welcomed. What I really liked was seeing all the regulars and the guy behind the counter knew all their names. Will be a stop whenever I’m in the area.
I don’t know why this place has so many 5 star reviews. The donuts are sub par within the least. I arrived on a Saturday morning during the annual Halloween promenade and I ordered a few donuts and some drinks. The street was lit up with donut smell so I assumed the donuts were hot and fresh. The donuts were COLD, very doughy tasting like they were undercooked and very unpleasant. Definitely upset my stomach. An old fashioned donut shouldn’t have glaze on it, need we review our donut history? Then the drinks were totally disgusting. I ordered one regular latte first and then thought hmm let me order something else warm because it was a chilly day, and the guy at the counter had a complete attitude that I ordered a drink AFTER I placed my original order. Well excuse me for adding more profit to your business buddy. Why should you have an attitude with that? The hot cocoa was Luke warm at best and it was terrible. I couldn’t even drink it, I ended up pouring it out. How could you mess up hot cocoa as a donut and coffee shop? I do better at home with the swiss miss instant hot cocoa packets. My friend immediately had disgust written all over his face after the first sip of latte. They have a sign saying they are hiring baristas. I hope they hire someone with more knowledge because what is going on now, Starbucks is way better than this hole in the wall place, I get better customer service and better tasting things for my money there, than spending over $20 in this place for bad customer service and an untasty product. You would expect that a small business like this would be pushing out a better quality but no it was terrible.
I was genuinely excited to come here cause of the reviews it had and im a HUGE coffee shop person. But this was definitely a disappointing experience. I ordered a iced vanilla latte and the only thing more blander than the iced latte was the girls personality behind the counter. She was super short and just not friendly in the least. Then the iced latte was served to me in what was like a deli or a soda cup. Depressing presentation and bad service. 👎
Very disappointed with the customer service we received on saturday september 11 around 10am. I invited another 4 friends to take a ride from Englewood NJ all the way to Nyack riding our bicycles. I have been there before and the coffee and donuts are really good so I figured it was a great plan. We ordered 5 lates and 3 coconut donuts and 2 vanilla donuts and he charged us around $34 for this. Until that moment everything was great for us and we were very happy to be there. One of my friends mentioned the idea of splitting the donuts between all of us so we can all taste vanilla and coconut so I asked the gentleman to please cut them in half because we were going to share them. The guy gave me a look and said I AM SORRY BUT WE ARE VERY BUSY RIGHT NOW TO DO THIS FOR YOU and then he immediately said next person please. In my mind I couldn’t believe it, then it took them about 12-14 minutes to get the 5 lates and 5 donuts which is not that bad and I was still hoping that he would change his mind and probably get the donuts cut in half but NO it did not happened, but the question is? How much time can it take a person to cut 5 donuts in half??? Is this the right way to treat customers??? I took the time to write this review not because I want to hurt the business, because to be honest the coffee and donuts are delicious, I am writing this review because is not fair with business owners to have employees like this working for you, it is not ok to loose customers these days for something like this. And NO they were not busy, this guys does not know what being busy is.
Weekdays is great. Coffee and donuts are good. Saturday are terrible. 100 cyclist swarming the entrance with almost none wearing masks. There are 2 lines, one for ordering one for online order pickup. Cyclist just block whole front and there is no type of attempt to organize the crowd. Maskless swarm that believes owing bicycle warrants jumping lines. Coffee quality drops on Saturday as staff works in turbo mode for the cyclists.Avoid on Saturday, fantastic place otherwise. Pumpkin pie donut was perfect fall treat.
It is a very cute local store that feels very cozy. I am not a big coffee or tea drinker but I really enjoy their home-made doughnuts. Unfortunately, they do not have an incredibly wide selections of flavors but they switch them up every now and then, which is really nice. They also have vegan options! Highly recommend!
Great coffee in a small artsy shop. They have a couch and two chairs inside and a coffee table in the middle, but it seems like most people get things to go. We sat at the chairs for a few minutes to soak in the scene and then finished our drinks as we walked around town. The coffee was very good.
Super cute place, food and coffee/tea is great! My only wish is that I wish it was bigger like more cozy where you can sit in couches and relax. I miss the old school coffee shops where it wasnt so much about the busy go go go. And you can go have coffee or tea and stay for a while, chat with each other etc. Perhaps this is just me feeling nostalgic for a cozy coffee/tea house.
My wife and I were photographing a wedding where Boxer had their food truck. The guests loved it! As we were leaving we grabbed a blueberry ice tea and two donuts to go. The ice tea was superrr refreshing.....but the donuts... y’all. Eating those donuts was nothing short of a spiritual experience. We were near tears as we slowly savored what we then declared to be the best donuts we’d ever had. And we’re no strangers to donuts. In fact some might consider us donut snobs. They were simultaneously warm, crispy, and soft. Cakier than Krispy Creme, lighter than a cider donut. Sweet, but not so sweet that it hurts your throat. It’s frankly a 10/10. You must stop here.. or get them to come to your event.
My favorite coffee spot in town! They have a wide variety of brews and blends and for someone who loves cold brew they have a good selection for that.👌 The prices can be a bit far from cheap but you get what you pay for, for the most part. However it feels like Im in Brooklyn with the amount Id be paying for coffee/donuts which seems a bit extra for me personally. The staff is great and very polite and catering, sometimes I just stop by to have a chat w the baristas. Anyone in town should visit!
Gave it a one-star because they dont have a zero star. Was really looking forward to trying this place. It was a huge letdown. The place is really small and dirty-looking and beat up and worn down. They put zero effort into keeping the place clean. it kind of has the look and feel of an old broken-down pawn shop in the inner City. They sit around BSing and they seemed very uninterested in the customers or the donuts. Speaking of the donuts there is an extremely small selection they look like theyve been sitting around for a long time and they tasted like theyve been sitting around for a long time, dry stale. And then on top of that you have to deal with the clientele. if you want to treat yourself and have a real specialty donut travel out to GLAZED DONUTS near the Paramus New Jersey area top of the line stuff I occasionally go there as a treat or for a special occasion. It has always been clean and the donuts have always been fresh and delicious just be aware sometimes there is a line of people out the door waiting for donuts.
I went here today for the first time. The coffee I ordered was amazing. The donut I ordered sits uneaten, because I havent felt like eating it yet. I came to write specifically about the staff. Two guys were working. Three people were seated chatting together with one of the guys who made my coffee. The entirety of the time I was there -- albeit, perhaps five minutes -- I was treated to the incessant bitching about their annoying customers. Now, I have worked in the service industry, and know full well how enchanting some people can be to serve. I have to say though, as the sole customer, I felt really unwelcome. I have a feeling thats not how Gypsy Donut would like their customers to feel, but perhaps they actually want to alienate the people who give them money. Good coffee, shitty vibe.
Donuts for our wedding- of course! Thank you Eric and all at Boxer Donut for making such delicious treats for us and our guests at our wedding in September 2017 at Boscobel House & Gardens in Garrison, NY. We were not sure if donuts for dessert vs. wedding cake would be able to happen, but working with Eric was such a seamless process and we were able to serve fresh and fantastic donuts at our wedding. Hand crafting the flavors offered was a very fun step and I know our guests were raving about them. If only we had Stumptown coffee :-) Thank you so much Eric and all at Boxer Donut, you helped make our wedding day perfect. Highly Recommend!
I am a native Nyack, New Yorker. I have walked by this location without stopping in about 100 times. While questioning the Duncan Donut clerk as to the freshness of the start of day spread, I learned that the donuts are delivered and heated up. Fresh served, not fresh baked on location. But the recommendation was to stop here. No need to buy a donut from Duncan again. Stop by and share your thoughts.
Gypsy Donut is my go-to place for my sugar cravings! Not only can you find amazing donuts here (be sure to check out the weekly specials!), but they have some even better whoopies and drinks (ask them to mix the lemonade and iced tea). While you sit down and munch on their handfuls of awesome, prop up you laptop and get some work done - they even offer chargers for your convenience!
A usual stop during my rides, Gypsy is a Stumptown Coffee shop (good coffee) and makes their own donuts. There are usually a decent selection including a few rotating flavors (new each week). Donuts are usually pretty good. All-in-all a good place to grab a coffee and snack if you are in the Nyack area
Gypsy Donut is the other place in Nyack to go for coffee and a pastry in Nyack. Gypsy sells decadent donuts and really good coffee and even better espresso. For some reasons, mostly racers go here and recreational riders go elsewhere. The only downside is the limited seating inside.
I was a kickstarter backer of this store, but actually trying their donuts exceeded my expectations. It is clear that the staff both care about the quality of their donuts, coffee, and other drinks, and want to make sure their customers enjoy themselves. From the quirky and interactive decor (wifi still isnt working on that typewriter?) to explaining every step of their pour-over coffee if you ask, the attention to detail is outstanding. Their Maple-Bacon donut is their signature item, but I have yet to find a flavor from their ever-changing menu that I have not thoroughly enjoyed. Im not a coffee drinker, but they have plenty of other varieties of quality drinks to quench your thirst. Visit. Enjoy. Share.
I would just like to say that the level of disappointment when biting into one of the doughnuts here is almost heartbreaking. I cant explain how terrible tasting these doughnuts are from the texture to the actual flavor. I ordered two glazed and two chocolate glazed. I took one bite from the chocolate glazed and it was utterly disgusting. So I moved on and said well you cant screw up a glazed doughnutwell it was so bad I had to spit it out. I myself have been to many doughnut places in NYC and around the country and I never tasted such bad doughnuts. Im not sure what their concept is but they need to reevaluate the simple flavors of a doughnut. The dough taste like the mix has too much vanilla and nutmeg, its so hard and pungent my kid or my brother who are usually my garbage disposals for food I dont eat could even take more than one bite themselves. It doughnut texture is hard and dry it was like I was eating toast. Not to mention the rip off price of $2.10 each doughnut made you think you were going to get something amazing was a let down. Sorry Gypsy but I will never return.
Lapin and I came here last weekend as we were in the area and it had a cute decor. The small cafe has ample seating and friendly staff members. In the corner, has a free arcade game of Street Fights but we couldnt get it to work. We ordered a couple of donuts and a cold brewed coffee for $13.95 total. We got the Blueberry donut ($3.70), Maple Bacon ($3.50) and Salt Caramel ($3). A bit pricey but in line with prices of artisanal donut places in the City. The donuts were okay nothing spectacular or noteworthy. We were there at 11am but the doughnuts tasted a bit stale. The bacon doughnut has the two paltry pieces of bacon and that was it -- barely any glaze too. They say the donuts are made fresh daily, but I beg to differ. The iced coffee was on spot and they use Stumptown coffees but the bags are more pricier here than in other places.

2022-05-07If donuts are something you want more of an your life, but you’ve always hated the way they make you feel afterwards… then all of your prayers are answered with Boxer. This is my favorite donut because they seem to have substantially less sugar than most. I can also tell that whatever fats they’re using are of good quality. Things you almost never get from a donut shop. Espresso is always on point. Friendly service and community vibes abound!THANK YOU for doing it different, and thank you for doing it right. Keep it up!

2022-02-22Went here for the first time and it hit the spot!! The donut with the chocolate top coat and passion fruit filling was my absolute favorite. It wasn’t overly sweet, just perfect. The strawberry glazed had the right amount of sweetness because the donut itself balances it out. The coconut flakes was my second favorite. They toast the coconut flakes to enhance the flavor plus that crunch in every bite. Hands down one of the best place to pick up donuts and gives that cozy in town feeling. A must try. Plus friendly staff which I absolutely love because they’re the face of the operation.
