After several attempts ordering via grubhub and order being cancelled , i called and spoke to the women who usually picks up the phone for the 3rd time, and was told dont you dare ask for a refund! who does that! she was so RUDE and unprofessional , when I asked her what was wrong, she said its my problem. very uncalled for.
ATTENTION to the owner/Manager: PLEASE TEACH THEM CUSTOMER SERVICE!I love the breakfast because the chef is a great cook. However, the girl named Simmi, that answers the phone to take orders on weekday mornings, is the most rudest person they can have for customer service. She needs to be changed for a different person ASAP. I mean just check the other reviews. Everyone seems to have the same complaint! Hello to the owner.... why arent you seeing whats wrong with your business?Oh and make sure you order 1 HOUR ahead of time, because unlike other places where delivery is promised within 15-20 mins, 30 max... this place will take an hour or longer to deliver even if I work literally across the street at NYU. Clearly, they need more delivery staff.So its been 8 months and I decided to order from this place, hoping Simmi got some customer service training. Of course Simmi picks up. After placing my order, I asked if she can read the order back to me (which I shouldnt have to ask), she replied that she cannot do that and has to place the order because its almost lunch hour at 11 AM. However it was still 10:45 AM and reading back an order would not take her 15 mins. As much time that passed as she argued back and forth with me... she couldve just read me my order. I asked to speak to someone else or a manager. She refused to give the phone. I informed her that she is the rudest person and hung up on her. I called Bagels NY on 1st Avenue and the customer service I got was outstanding! My coworkers from the hospital agree that the staff is very rude at this location. Maybe the owner should pay them more or give them proper training! They all seem so miserable so early in the morning.
Two nights ago I got some stuff from their buffet, fake crab meat with celery salad was one of the choices. My reflexes worked well and I spat out the mouthful of the salad. It was not slimy yet but had I swallowed I would have paid a dear price. I went to the cashier and told her about it she said she was sorry, not sure she understood. So I am now somewhat disappointed.from them
Rude...rude..rude terrible customer service. Work across the street and was looking to try something different. The man cooking the food at the Asian food place rude. Also when cooking hot food the restaurant need to not use plastic containers. I was handed a container that was hot and burned my hand. Cashier needs better customer service. This place might just need more staff because it was very crowded and unorganized.
The food is average and the customer service is HORRIBLE at times. They really need to sharpen up their act. Some of the staff are unprofessional and not very pleasant. I asked that hands are washed prior to putting on gloves! I received a blank stare and no response. Long wait times for a breakfast shake is just unacceptable. Months later, the service has gotten a lot better. Ive seen some improvement.
Always ask for a receipt and check it. Overcharged me by $50 for a $7 sandwich, multiple phone calls to get it fixed (they never even tried- manager always out). Finally had to get it reversed via my credit card company. Buyer beware. They’re dishonest. Pity, I used to like the place.
November 2020. So I frequent this place constantly being that I work in the area. I must say that the service behind the sandwich counter is bad. They are not friendly at all. And the food isnt even all that great or well seasoned. However the stir fry food is good. Its just the customer service overall is really bad. And its a shame. Especially with the prices we pay.
Never dealt with a more incompetent restaurant. Food didnt come after over an hour. I called and the woman told me it was delivered. I told her it wasnt and she argued with me and told me because I selected contact less delivery maybe they left it outside. It was not outside my apartment door or in lobby of the building. Rather than make up lies and blame the customer maybe you should check with your delivery staff. WILL NEVER ORDER FROM HERE AGAIN.
Last November I ordered from this establishment with my coworkers and We experienced some of the worst service ever. In top that the girl on the phone was very rude, they sent me my Ramen all soggy with no utensils! And my coworker kept asking for no tomatoes on his sandwich (in previous occasions too) and they still put tomato. What bothered me the most is their customer service. I’ve been personally to the establishment and the girls always give me attitude....it’s like they prioritize the hospital employees in front better than other customers. Me and my coworkers will not be coming/ordering here ever again.
Honestly, a couple rude people work here. I went here with some nursing friends just to get a drink and fries the other night. The fry cook goes to hand me steaming hot fries in a thin paper container covered in HOT grease, and it slips out of my hand bc 1)it’s covered in grease and 2) it’s giving me second degree burns. He then has the audacity to tell me, “open your hand.” **rolls his eyes** I guess he doesn’t care about the safety or satisfaction of the customers.
When it comes to delivery attention to details isnt their strongest suit. Youll more than occasionally get a the wrong soda, forget dressing for salad, maybe even the wrong sandwich all together. The quality of food is good. The service at the salad bar is sometimes MIA and no one acknowledges you standing there waiting like an idiot.
The guy, a Mexican overweight man, that makes the hot Sandwiches was talking bad about everyone ordering and then yelled at me for saying no tomato. I told him he shouldn’t be rude to people as it’s near the hospital and you don’t know what people are going through to which he answered “my foot hurts and I’m sick who cares” in Spanish. He is very rude and from what the nurses have been saying he does the same thing to them when asked to change his gloves. He’s a vile man and sadly represents Bread and Butter.The food is good and fresh though.
Large 24/7 deli with a selection of buffet and made to order items.Stopped by at 7:30am for breakfast on a weekday. Breakfast buffet food items were all cold and soggy, unfortunately. Looked OK but did not taste good at all.Could not recommend this place, unfortunately.
My husband is at nyu across the street so I came here looking for a snack one day, and fell in love. Have come back every day since. They have fresh made sandwiches both hot and cold, soup, salads, fruit and veggie bar, sushi, coffee beverages, fresh fruit smoothies, baked goods and more!! Soooo good and way better than getting fast food! For 8$ you can get a foot long LOADED sandwich. I cant complain. Everyone is super nice, and they always have healthy selections for snacks and beverages as well!
I got food from the salad bar at lunchtime on two occasions. There is hot and cold food. It looks decent and tastes ok but nothing special. I got salmon, string beans, cucumbers, Sweet potato, avocado, tomatoes, blueberries and grapes. On the second time I had bad diarrhea after eating the meal, and that means I will NEVER return here.
Had burger and wrap here. 😵 no flavor in the meat patty and the wrap was basic. They put all those veggies and sauce on the food but still doesnt help that fact your missing flavor. Its overpriced and the food quality is not that great. The staff is boring, no hello, no thank you no see you again soon; they all look like their tired of working there. Besides Ill bypass although its in the area.
Cockroaches wondering around while I waited for my sandwiches.I had to come here for 3 weeks since my son was at the hospital across the street. Like many people are saying on their reviews, several of the workers have this rudeness and attitude when talking to customers. I am yet to understand why they are still employed there.
My coworkers and I eat here often. Today I found a cigarette in the soup. I took it back to Bread and Butter and the manager didn’t apologize and asked us if we wanted another soup. We asked for a refund which they gave to us. We then went on yelp and realized other people have posted about the food quality (including one person who found a roach in their food). Ugh. A bummer because it’s convenient from work, but too grossed out now to ever go back.
The burger tastes frozen and the woman on the phone was not able to tell me if this was true or not. Their blue burger has mustard on it! which is an AWFUL combination with the blue cheese. My wife picked up the burger for me so I did not have the chance to review the ingredients. When I told the woman on the phone, very politely, that it’s a bad combination and I’ve never seen a blue burger before with mustard, she replied sarcastically saying, “well, it has mustard on it”. Thanks! Very insightful!
Horrible experience I made an online order and for the bagel I ordered the butter and jelly on the side. When I got my order it was only the bagel and nothing on the side so I went back to get the butter and the jelly only to be told that I had to go back and reorder something that I had already ordered and paid for. Horrible service
They forgot to place my order in which I called 30 min before hand to avoid their extreme long lines. The cashier was extremely rude and unapologetic but rather told me “you have to wait.” I work across the street from here but I will walk the extra few feet to somewhwere else and enjoy better service as well as food.
I ordered a panini for delivery that I heard good reviews about from a place where I work. I was eager to try this and hoping it would be as good as people said it was. One hour later, I didnt hear back anything, so I called and the person answered and I said, Im just calling to find out the status of my order and he hung up, I called again from my phone and he didnt answer 2 times, I then called from another phone and he answered. He said the order will be there in 5 mins....30 mins after that I called and said I still didnt receive the order, he said it will be there in one min, ...this had been 2 hours and still no food and I was starving, ...i said is the food really going to be here in one min? when I spoke with the person over the phone he was very rude and said he can just cancel the order because hes busy and i give his customer service was a zero. He wasnt even a little sympathetic that I didnt receive my order yet, he was quickly rushing me off the phone, my concerns were not addressed and I still didnt get any panini. I refuse to order from this location again, not because of the food, but because of the customer service!!!
DONT ORDER DELIVERY!!! it will never come. mine was already 40+ minutes late when i finally called the restaurant. no answer the first 9 times and on the 10th they hung up on me. i had to contact seamless to get a cancellation & refund. the restaurant also didnt pick up when seamless tried to call. read the other reviews on seamless (i couldnt leave a review on seamless because they cancelled the order). not recommended for delivery!!!
I waited over 50 minutes for my order and the delivery person didnt give me a minute to come outside to collect my food. When I called the delivery guy he was rude and told me to wait more time because hes busy then hung up on me. Horrible service!!! I only gave 3 stars because I had better service in the past, otherwise I wouldve have put one star.
I’m am highly disappointed , came here a few times for italino panini. This time around after buying panini from bread and butter and returning to my office I notice the panini was soggy at the ends as if it was drop in water it was completely disgusting I will no longer be eating here any longer
WISH I CAN GIVE ZERO STARS. I PLACED AN ORDER TWO HOURS AGO USING SEAMLESS AND IT NEVER ARRIVED. I TRACKED MY ORDER AND THE TRACKING SYSTEM CLAIMED IT WAS DELIVERED. MIND YOU I NEVER GOT MY FOOD. SEAMLESS CONTACTED THEM AND WAS TOLD THAT MY ORDER WAS ON ITS WAY. AND SHOULD ARRIVE IN 10 MINS. WELL I WAITED A TOTAL OF 2 HOURS AND NOTHING. I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM THIS PLACE AGAIN.IF YOU ARE HUNGRY AND NEED TO ORDER FOOD - DONT BOTHER ORDERING FROM HERE CHANCES ARE THAT YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE YOUR ORDER AND WILL HAVE TO REQUEST A REIMBURSMENET .

2022-04-07Ordered 1 pound of salmon trough uber eats and only received 10oz, their salmon is gross, does not taste good. Bagel was a thick lump of cream cheese and their gross thick salmon. Never ordering from this place again!

2021-10-28They offer a stir fry section, where you can pick your own stir fry with choice of sauce, noodle, veggies, and proteins. They also have a smoothie section and a salad section. They have this awesome banana peanut butter smoothie that I’m obsessed with. They have a buffet area with options from fresh fruit, salad, lasagna, fried chicken, pasta, lo mein, orange sauce chicken, Brussel sprouts. They also have a section that makes sandwiches. At the pay counter you can ask for coffee, they also make lattes and offer a variety of milks including oat milk. The people at the cash register are really nice. They also have lots of varieties of drinks, and snacks, many chocolate options! Very eclectic selection here.

2022-07-09Very delicious breakfast with low cost.The best taste of ice hazelnut coffee and ice black tea in New York City. Tea fragrance and taste are better than popular shops in city.Healthy style croissants.

2022-06-06The food is ok but a few staff members have very rude tendencies, particularly the Hispanic man the makes the smoothies and Açaí bowls. On numerous occasions he has ignored orders or questions and responded rudely when I repeat myself , and he lacks urgency, instead of helping a line full of customers he nonchalantly restocks items as if everyone has all the time in the world. Very unfortunate, I won’t be ordering from that station cause it appears this is acceptable.

2022-03-23This place is hit or miss. It’s expensive. I used to buy pastries from them all the time until I came in one day to find a small roach crawling over the danishes. Told the guy at the register, he checked it out and had one of the guys stocking the shelves to throw away the pastries. The grill closes at random times and for those on the night shift, that is an inconvenience. I’ve had coworkers place orders for pickup and when they came to pick it up, the order wasn’t done, the grill was close and wasn’t told that when placing the order.

2020-10-11Ordered a cinnamon raisin bagel with raisin walnut cream cheese and got a plain bagel with plain cream cheese with some raisins and walnut thrown in. When I called to ask what this was the person on the other end was extremely rude and said to just call Seamless.$40 later on a terrible, bland and dry breakfast burrito, soggy fries, 2 decent juices I won’t be ordering from this Bread and Butter again.This is my first negative review ever...well done 401 E 40th St B&B.

2021-12-25The guy that works at the sandwich shop is incredibly rude. You would think a place would value customer service instead of degrading customers. I was in line today and saw him yell at a girl to go the back of the line even though she was in the front and explained that she was. He completely disregarded and did not care. You guys will seriously lose my business if you guys don’t make sure your employees treat people right

2021-03-28Overall a mostly positive experience, but a little disorganized and busy. A bit pricy too. The smoothie was pretty great and they have a small but decent selection of grocery items.
