The collaboration is creative and fun. They throw out ideas and listen to yours and suddenly its not just putting a frame around art, its creating a whole new idea and is an art in and of itself. Pieces that I liked transformed into pieces that I loved because of the thoughtfulness and originality of the frame. For example, I had a print made of a cover of an old book that had sentimental meaning to me, and they asked if I wanted the frame to feel modern to juxtapose the image or if I wanted to feel like I stumbled upon it at an antiques market? How cool is that?

There is no better place for your framing needs than Brentano’s! Exceptional customer service, so friendly and helpful, and their craftsmanship is extraordinary. Just perfect in every way! I had 7 prints framed and the wires on the back of each were exactly the same, making hanging them a breeze. So grateful for these gentlemen and their talent.

Though Ive had some good experiences at Brentanos, Ive also had some bad ones. Most recently I went to pick up a very simple framing job (just a matted 8x11 letter) I had left there 2 weeks ago. I was told it would be a minimum extra 2 weeks, and when I explained I lived out of state and wanted to cancel because I wouldnt be back this year and it was meant for a present for someone who lived locally, they were inexplicably rude and snarky. Even though the job wasnt even started, they claimed it was in process, as though some artisan had been toiling to custom chisel my $400 frame for the past 2 weeks (cutting/joining frame sections takes an hour generously). They ultimately agreed to refund me, stating that they didnt want to work with me anymore, but why burn bridges and traumatize a repeat customer, treating them as though they are idiots and have no idea?

Had a piece framed at Michaels, and recently discovered there was no spacer installed between the piece (a limited edition print) and the glass in the frame. The shop confirmed my suspicion. The work done here was excellent and on time. The gentleman was patient and not at all pushy. I highly recommend especially for anything of value or potential value...

John and his team do fantastic work whether you give them fragile art or regular old photos. They also give upfront honest pricing so you always know what you’re getting into. Recommend them for framing to all my friends!

Flawless! We must have framed 9 or 10 pieces with Brentano’s over the last 18 months. Every frame has been perfect, flawless, and of the highest quality. Joseph Brentano has an incredible eye and I highly recommend you seek his advice, as the results have all been absolutely beautiful, every time bringing out the best qualities of the piece. Really great framing like his can be transformative. That said, he’s also able to work in the most exacting way from gallery specs or your own ideas too for situations where you have a clear vision of what you want.

Brilliant work; enjoyable experienceJoseph has a great eye, is patient, listens and provides sure-handed guidance without being overbearing.Joseph has framed 4 pieces for me recently- a lyrical, playful colored pencil drawing by a noted 20th Century artist (hand carved and lacquered frame); a pair of inexpensive 17th century Dutch engravings; and a serious 19th Century unglazed porcelain plaque by a pate-sur-pate master. His attention to detail was as rigorous, and his exuberance unbridled, for all the projects. We stayed on time, on budget and the results exceeded my expectations. Im on my way to Josephs today with a newly-acquired watercolor...
