Busy day for a rainy day but it was packed with beach goers and residents alike. I was working so getting around by truck was a bit difficult for a Saturday but we made it in and out. Other than that I would recommend a visit to the beach since summer has begun.

The ongoing pandemic has definitely taken a toll on a lot of businesses and public places since a consumer’s mindset to buy anything outside of essentials or to visit a public place like a park or beach, has crippled down significantly. Now by living with what has become the new normal, it is commendable on how these businesses and public places continue to remain open and cater to the general public by following the safety standards. It is now all the more important that we as customers, support these heroes during these dark hours to mankind.Our recent interest has been Sunset hunting and we looked up the internet for sunset places and that’s how ran into this beautiful spot. To start off with the most important part, Don’t worry about the parking as they have a dedicated free Municipal parking right by the beach and there also free street parking spots available near the children’s park.It was almost 4:35 (sunset time) at Brighton beach that we arrived here and had to run towards the sun to get a better picture. Wish we had arrived here at least 15 mins earlier to watch the fuller sun (May be return for a different day). The sunset still looked spectacular and is one of the best we have seen.The beach looked clean and well maintained and it was surprising for us, considering it’s vastness- speaking of which, there’s enough social distancing for everyone. There’s a Children’s park facility adjacent to the parking area that was buzzing with kids.If you are a sunset lover, do check out this place!
One of my fav beaches in NYC. Im always happy when no one has a speaker on the beach and you can listen to the waves. The water was clean and warm, even for early June.
Its peaceful place to walk or relax or get away from the city. Its not Miami Beach but its nyc style Beach some people either love or hate it. But check it out you night find it interesting
A beach in NYC? Yes, really, in the south of Brooklyn you find wonderful sand, shells and some rocks. Different subway lines from Brooklyn or Manhattan let you reach this beach easily - perfect for me!
Great beech , and easy to get to. Its a diverse beach people from all demographics, and everyone gets along. Its also family oriented.

Beautiful experience along is very addicted but I so lucky many many of things and times there. I see the sunset gorgeous. The morning is same as pictorial . Sunshine is possible to look at magic. Always nice fresh air....soon I come back to visit and highly recommending.
Amazing place for kids and adults. It is clean and maintained well. When we went it was a cloudy and rainy day. Still enjoyed ourselves. Didnt went on any rides but others were having fun on it. I would recommend this place to everyone. Hopefully can visit this place next time when the weather is better.

Scenic beachfront with boardwalk. Very lively in warm weather, with buskers entertaining the crowds. The beach’s surf is tame, and overall it is fairly clean for New York City’s standards. Police often patrol the boardwalk, so crime is minimal. Dining al fresco in the few eateries which line the boardwalk.
I love this area...A good beach to swim, nice little restaurants and shops.And finally all these attractions where you can spend lots of money. Try it, enjoy it.
Beautiful beach, very conveniently located for NYC. Variety of attractions- from cafe Volna to early bird vodka shots. The beach is clean and peaceful yet very live during the hot season. Highly recommended for city visitors, looking for nostalgia - the time has been frozen in 80s in some parts of the area. Parking lot for residents only

Nice walking around, a little crowded (duh its Mermaid Parade on a Saturday), people are SUPER friendly -just dont get in the water (it doesnt look healthy), and the bathrooms are kinda impossible to get into... all in all, a really nice experience (honest)
Great place to have a late evening walk along the boardwalk. Variety of good cuisine as well as the pleasure rides. Definitely recommend to see it lit up as you walk towards Coney Island. Plenty of amenities for the daytime with restrooms, lifeguard station and showers to rinse sand off.
Coney Island Beach and boardwalk are a great way to spend the day. The rides are not open back up yet. But are great places to get something to eat and drinks.

Such a cool place, but it started to rain, check on the weather before you come. Anyways, it was cool. There are places to change your clothes and go swimming if you want. You can also fisch.

Great place for nice erly morning walk
There are roller coasters, and amusement parks. A few fast food, burgers and hotdogs, on the beach. You could go fishing as well, order cheap fishing gear from Amazon and try it, there is a long pier where ppl at the end of it fish.
Accessible, always find nice spot by the water by yourself or with friend, restaurant available, outdoor showers what you want more.
Ive been to almost all the beaches on the Long Island but I must say that Brighton Beach is the best one because of its cleanliness and the great atmosphere.Its a perfect spot for photography as the sun is directly on your face. Also, its a beach in Brooklyn which can be reached by just boarding the A train.Fun place for families to spend the weekends away from the city.
What a beautiful place! The boardwalk is fantastic, and lined with lots of restaurants and attractions. Beautiful, clean beach with lots of room. Steady breeze the day we were there took the edge off the heat.

It is a beautiful beach but it can use some fixing there are a lot of food stand and rides. This is a fun place for the family. And there are lots of things to do
Coney Island can be underrated sometimes, and its mostly because of the crowds, and if were being honest, the surrounding neighborhood isnt as well developed [read gentrified] as other parts of Brooklyn. Which might add to the rumor milling as well. Most well to do families or transplants might favor the Long Island beaches, or even the Jersey Shore time permitting.But theres something to be said about Coney Island in that it uniquely feels like a city beach, and I love that - kind of like South Beach in Miami. They are the kind of places you can waddle out of the water, and find some local eateries just across the street, or just hop back on the subway and be anywhere else in half an hour. On top of which it has amusement park!!! I personally may never ride those rides but when your closest other options at this scale are in New Jersey or Pennsylvania, this is a no-brainer for a regular summer weekend.
Such an amazing, peaceful and beautiful beach. The quality of the sand is really good, very fine close to the ocean water. The views are simply stunning. You can walk on the beach and spend a day here without feeling bored. Ocean is provoking a lot of deep thoughts.
Brighton Beach is an extremely cool public beach and park. Its very fun to see the ships sail by and watch the crowds of people on the beach and boardwalk. I strongly recommend it to anyone visiting NYC!
Brighton Beach has been particularly good this summer (2021) the water has been clear and calm, with less trash than usual. can see many fish in the water.

This is both a historical and local beach, excellent for walking on the boardwalk, people watching, and laying down your blanket over the sand to catch some rays on a nice and not so humid day. Yes, it could use some cleaning up but that aside, it can be a nostalgic stroll along Brighton Beach.

Amazing fun, and it was closed. I only had a day so decided to do the board walk in the rain great fun and was engulfed in the charm that only a beach boardwalk can bring.

We came for the aquarium but it closed minutes before we arrived so we headed to the boardwalk. We loved it! We walked around, got a cone and corn dog, and took in the view. The Atlantic ocean is beautiful. Would recommend to visitors!
We visited today 07.31.21. It was clean. People were friendly. No hang out or loudness. No kids running around crazy.Was some what pack with people, but it was mostly by the water.

Great views and good vibes in the summer. Last time I went there were two DJs set up playing music on the boardwalk and everyone was dancing. The beach is quite large and theres room to go places less crowded.

It was much more fun, than even I could imagine. So many sights/sounds and rides and even arcades. No way to get it all in, in only one visit. The boardwalk is iconic, the view from all directions is amazing. And have to mention the chili-fries, and of course the corny dogs from Nathans
Come here you won’t regret! Take Q train and get off at Ocean Parkway stop. It is gorgeous even in the winter!
A beautiful spot for kids and families. The beach is clean, but you have to come early to find a parking spot, otherwise youll have to wait for someone to leave.

Great place to get lost for a day
Not super crowded if you hear there before 12pm. Tons to eat, lots to do. Make sure to bring cash as some places dont take card.
It is a nice beach but everything looks like it needs a renovation. There are no clean restrooms, cabins to change or shower after going for a swim.
What a fantastic place to visit for a walk along the beach to take in the sights, play some games or watch a sideshow! Friday nights 9:30pm for Fireworks.

Theres an ocean and sand. Its pretty great. I failed to catch any seagulls. Cowards always flew away. And keep off Jetty. She doesnt get to have fun.

I grew up on Coney island. It looks like it has changed for the better and Luna Park has better, safer rides. The food options have increased as well.

Took my cousins from Sacramento CA to visit the Beach. They enjoyed it immensely. Then had them visit other popular sites in New York City. Hopefully, they will come again. Really enjoyed the Times Square area!

I went in the winter and the place was quiet and nearly empty (in a good way). I enjoyed the stroll and just being near the water, sometimes all by myself. Layer up if you are visiting in the winter as the wind can be bitingly cold and unforgiving.

Great place to have some fun and just relax. Can be a bit crowded but then that is expected its Coney Island after all. Food selection is good you have mostly everything from fast food on the go as your walking about or places to sit and just enjoy.

I had a whole different imagination of the place before I saw it. The boardwalk was full of strange people. The beach was pretty deserted, the color of the water was far from blue. Cheap is not the right word for it. Sad would be more appropriate.

Visited on July 4th. It was so crowded! Should have known better but it was still a fun experience. The subway is the best way to get to there.

2022-01-18I always try to find the time to come here just to see the beach and the sunset. Most times, Id record to capture memories. But most of all, its also where my husband and I would meet. Theres an invisible connection that connects me to this place. Its the environment, the people, the food. And I feel so at peace seeing and being at Brighton Beach. I hope others have also felt the same way. And if not, I hope theres some connection or inspiration connecting you to this wonderful place.

2022-06-06Great place, Russian-speaking experience - but - has been going downhill over the last ten years. Boardwalk is worn out - dangerous in some places, falls/trips possible. Security is MIA - mostly concentrated around Coney Island, not here. Dirty.
