Getting here
Broadway-Laffeyete Streets is situated in the Lower East Side and is used often during rush hour. B trains operate here during Weekdays, service is suspended during Weekends, Weeknights, and Holidays. D trains operate here at all times except when there are works being done causing these trains to run on the A and F lines. M trains only operate here during weekdays. F trains operate here at all times, except when there are works being done, trains will either run on the Q and D lines or the C line and then its regular route.Ever since the station was given the upgrade, it has made this place much more reliable and nicer to use, but like every station in the New York City Subway, it has a rat problem. The aroma of this place is unpredictable, sometimes it will smell plasent other times it will not. The station also has a connection to the Bleeker Street station for the 6 train, and the 4 during late nights and the 5 during disruptions.
I am not an engineer, but you want to tell me that nobody came up with a solution to that smell of the underground stations? It is there and it is everywhere. in the station I wish they would so something about it, in France for example you do not smell it. So I am guessing there is a solution, might be just too expensive.
NYPD ONSITE.THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE.Broadway-Laffayet & East Houston Street Train Station is also connected to the Bleecker Street Station. Its fair to say that the 6 train is always on time at this station.Train lines: Six Avenue lines - B, D, F, and Lexington Avenue lines local #6.Transit Connections: M1, M21, M55, SIM7, SIM33.(source:Metropolitan Transit Authority)
People writing reviews and complaining about the escalators... Humanity! Where are you going!!! Take the stairs, they are generally empty because all the fat lazy people cram onto the escalators (and do not walk up them) and elevators. This is a NYC subway station, an OPTION meant for you to get on a packed train and move you underground close to your destination.Or you can walk, bike, take a cab.It is not a place for relaxation, room, reading, eating or standing on a stairway looking at your phone. And your $2.50 of a price you pay does not mean you own and operate the system.

2018-05-23Would have given it 5 stars but the uptown 6 train directions were a little confusing. Would have helped if they had signs in both directions that said the uptown 6 train were only accessable at the end of only one platform.

2018-04-28The David Bowie Is Here exhibition in the station he most used down the street from his house is a wonderful tribute to the man, the magic, the miracles he brought to the world. He was never supposed to go away, we were all going to see him live some day. Ah well, the amazing collection of photos and captions sponsored by Spotify until May 13, 2018 drawing attention to the David Bowie Is Brooklyn Museum exhibit that goes until July 15, 2018 before retiring permanently to showcase his career and personal archive of 60+ original costumes, hand written lyrics, and pictures back into his teenage years. Additionally, there were 250,000 Tickets To Mars, special limited edition David Bowie metro cards people waited in line for hours to get all 5 in the collection.

2018-06-19This was ok. Quiet, not very busy when we got on. Hot n sticky but cool on the train. Fairly similar to all the stations in NYC. Short climb down from the street.

2019-11-24Mta disgusts me. elevators are always broken and never fixed. poor dude who used a cane and needed the elevator desperately on broadway/lafayette and BOTH elevators on the platform were broken that morning. saw him on my way to school. and there is A LOT of stairs at that station because there’s 2 flights just to get up to the 6 train and more to just get outside...

2019-07-21This stop is busy during the mornings, mainly with people exiting. The peak is 8am.not recommended for those who are still learning the transit system. This also is the main hub for more urban shopping centers rather than international ones, especially during the weekends. Use this station to get in & out of Manhattan or to Brooklyn.
